Pros: Near Penn station, which is very convenient (<10 minute walk). Price is not that expensive, tho could be lower based on how the property looks. Decent enough to sleep in. A/C is nice to have. Staff are nice as well. Cons: Rooms are definitely not soundproofed, and since there’s a gap underneath the main door, you’ll hear people come back at 3am being very loud. Old hotel and conditions leave much to be desired. Property definitely needs updating. Toilet needs to be flushed in a specific method, else it wont flush properly. You need to pay if you want to leave your bags AFTER checkout (other hotels dont charge you for this), and they dont have a designated place for this (they put it just in the lobby, in front of the desk). I would probably book another hotel in my next stay; but if this is the only one within the budget (in case i need to book last minute again), I’m not opposed to booking this place again.

This hotel was a lot better than expected! I came to NYC for the Lady Gaga concert, and it was in the perfect location. It was only a 15-minute walk to the MSG, so that was perfect. The hotel was very clean and perfect for a one-night stay! The price. $400 for one night and two people was a little much. I understand that the hotel is right in the middle of Manhattan but that's a lot for one night. That is my only complaint.

Hotel was basic but very comfortable and clean. Continental breakfast included but offering was only bagel and toast. Would have preferred coffee making facilities in room. Staff very helpful. Lift was vey slow! Would have been quicker using the stairs but as husband is disabled didn’t have a choice. Probably an over priced hotel for what is offered.

Walking distance to lake george, shops & restaurants. The property itself is cute, pool is nice but they don't have pool towels. I stood in the little cabin its very nostalgic was pretty clean except for the bathroom there were cobwebs with carcasses in the corners & I think the start of mold on the ceilings. Staff wasn't the friendliest & the maid never came around had to go to the front desk to request fresh towels.

The room was too small. No wash cloth given. Asked for wash clothes and was given dirty looking ones. The floor was filthy. This place really needs a total rehab.

Our bed was dirty (hair, stains, and blood stain on sheets). The guy at the front desk did not know how to handle this. I walked him through giving us another room which also ended up with a dirty bed (stain on sheets and hair on towel). Management did not care to fix issue since they did not reach out to me dispite being told by me, Orbitz, and the guy. Not proactive and could care less to fix issue. Complementary breakfast was slices of cold bread that the guy placed there with dirty hands (no gloves).

It was a budget-friendly option with two beds close enough to where we needed to be. Front desk was nice and helpful. Room was definitely worn and floors were not very clean, it was clean enough fun to stay for our quick trip. The main reason I wouldn’t stay here again, is the smell of toxic cleaner. I literally went to the store to try to find an air purifier. The hotel smelled like it and the room was really bad, so much so that all my clothes smell like it even after flying home.

Overall, very nice staff and a clean room with great pillows and water pressure. The host carried my bag down the steps to the front door, the front desk person was nice and I’m guessing it’s new. Not so positive: It’s a pretty spartan place in a construction zone on 36th. My tv remote didn’t work and don’t look out the window, not a view, but I felt safe, the room was clean and they had nice bath amenities. Wish breakfast had been set up. Bring your own food, didn’t seem to be anything nearby. Again, nothing unpleasant, just a solid good. I would return again, but would take a cab; it’s a haul from Penn.

The location was convenient and close to major attractions in New York. The room was very dusty, the shower didn’t work properly, and the towels caused skin irritation. The entrance to the hotel was extremely difficult to access. Overall, the conditions were far below expectations. We were also charged twice: once at the hotel and once through the Booking app.

When I checked into the room, the thermostat was set to 86 degrees. The front desk told me to “just wait for it to cool down.” Eventually, the thermostat read 60, but we were still sweating—the AC clearly wasn’t working properly. Then it got worse. As I was getting ready to walk out, my wife screamed because two caterpillar-like bugs crawled out from under the bed. When I told the manager, he flat-out called me a liar and said their rooms were clean. No apology. No room change offered. Nothing. At that point, we packed up and left. And despite all this, they still charged us for one night. Do yourself a favor—skip this place.

We had a very brief overnight visit to NYC and spent just few night hours in the hotel. Location was PERFECT for Hudson Yards and Midtown Manhattan for walking. Bonus: there are few parking garages in the area within 5 minutes walk that was very convenient especially parking in the middle of the night. There is nothing fancy about this hotel, the entrance into the hotel looked strange at first, but hotel entrance was opened 24x7, the stuff was very pleasant, room and bathroom were clean, shower worked well, linens and towels were clean, all the toiletries were provided. Will i stay there again if need to stay in Midtown? Definitely Yes if the prices stay the same as we booked at.

It's a relatively large place. The single person room are actually quite nice. They're prepared really well and they look just as intended. The entrance to the place was a little difficult to find due to the fact that it only tells you what the place is from one side of the street. Only then can you actually tell that your in the right place. Overall, this place is nice and simple.

    5/5

Overall it was a good place to stay for a night. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. A little downside though- the room phone wasn’t working and was just there as part of the furniture; there was always a problem with the elevator and we had to use the stairs. Also, construction was going on right in front of the property and that made it even noisier and traffic was heavier. Hoping the next time we book things will be better.

An easy walk from the Javits Center, this hotel appears dated and a bit beaten up (cracked tile in places, exterior covered in scaffolding, etc). That being said, despite the cosmetic damage to some surfaces in my room and to some of the common spaces, everything was clean. The room was comfortable with working AC, toiletries provided, and the people at the front desk were helpful with holding onto my bags before an after checkout. There are a lot of dining options nearby as well.

To make matters worse, housekeeping had left filthy, disgusting towels and sheets from other rooms in the stairwell. It turned into a dangerous obstacle course, and I almost fell several times. By the time we finally reached our room, we felt utterly exhausted, and sweat was pouring off us due to the lack of air conditioning in the stairwell. We even had to dodge other guests along the way. After the ordeal, we requested some sort of partial refund due to these issues, but they told us to contact Expedia. I did that, and while Expedia has been great, but after multiple attempts, the management at The Hudsonwill not respond to them. It seems all they care about is money; customer service is clearly not a priority for them. While the price may be lower, you truly get what you pay for. I strongly recommend paying a little extra and choosing a better hotel. You have been warned! Pictures will follow once I have wifi.

Again, the staff were kind, but that was the only good aspect. I would not stay there again, especially for the rate.

Hotel was situated a little bit farther away from public transportation than expected. Location was somewhere right next to a major highway which made it less convenient if reaching there on foot with luggage and bags. Rooms are decently sized and blankets and sheets are clean and changed for new ones. Nothing like 5 star hotel atmosphere but it's decent enough for the night. Pricewise I wished it would have been just a bit more lower given it's minimal amenities inside the rooms.

I was within 7 minutes walking distance to the convention center, 15 minutes to times square and theater district. Lots of restaurants and coffee shops easily accessible. I had a very bad experience at this hotel. The room was in poor condition, and the service was even worse. There seemed to be only one person working—most likely a student—who was doing their best but clearly had no guidance or supervision. There was no manager on site to help or direct them, which made the whole situation feel unprofessional and chaotic. Despite room cleaning being included, our room was never cleaned during our stay. When I called the front desk to ask why we didn’t receive fresh towels or any cleaning, I was told—very rudely—that I should come down and get the towels myself. That kind of response is completely unacceptable. Overall, this hotel is absolutely not worth the price. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Staff was very nice and welcoming, area itself wasn’t bad and about a 15 minute walk to broadway and such. However it was under construction in places, which okay fine things need to be done totally get that. The elevator was questionable. Everytime you got on it felt like you stepping into it was going to make it break. Gaps on doors and the door frame, and the top little lock thing didn’t close. Furniture has seen better days. The remote didn’t work for our tv. The bathroom was beat up, stains in the bathtub. Hopefully during the renovations they are doing they’ll be doing rooms as well because they desperately need it. It was okay for an overnight but they desperately need to fix up the rooms.

Hotel currently under renovations, very basic rooms that could be cleaner. The only breakfast offered is toast. Single elevator is very slow. Decent location to midtown and Hudson yards but would not stay again.

The hotel was pretty much disgusting. The elevator smelled like straight up weed and then it stopped working, so we had to walk down 11 floors of stairs with a messed up knee

There was someone banging on the walls our last night (no fault to the staff) that caused us some issues sleeping. Otherwise, it was great!

What made things worse was the complete lack of accountability from both Expedia and the hotel. Despite reaching out multiple times and even purchasing Expedia’s Hotel Booking Protection, I was denied a refund. Expedia claimed they were waiting on the hotel’s response—but the hotel never answered my emails. When I finally reached someone at the front desk by phone, they were disrespectful, kept cutting me off, and offered no help. I was told I wouldn’t get a refund because “you only paid $128” and “it was just a one-night stay.” That is completely false—I have a receipt showing I paid $199.19, including taxes and protection. When I asked to speak with or get the contact information for someone in charge of issuing refunds, they refused to provide it. This experience was completely unacceptable. The hotel was unsafe and misrepresented, and the customer service from both the hotel and Expedia was dismissive and unhelpful. Avoid this hotel, and think twice before trusting Expedia with your travel plans.

Its NYC so not much has changed. The staff who checked us in was nice and the room room was extra clean. There was plenty to eat nearby and an easy walk back to Penn Station. Will stay again when we get more sbow tickets.

Horrible hotel. Hotel is under construction and it’s not livable what so ever. They are under full construction. It was very unsafe, unhealthy and dangerous. Dust, paint, construction hazards are everywhere. This hotel needs to be shot down till they finish the construction. Pain, construction material smell everywhere and unhealthy smell everywhere to sleep in. All our clothes were dusty, our eyes red every day our throats were dry, sore from the construction smell. Towels were dirty with construction glue, cement on it. Unlivable hotel. I don’t think this is legal for them to operate under this condition. Across the street there was a major construction as well and the noise was unbearable. The construction noise in hotel it self was unbearable as well. I am definitely going to report this and ask for my money back. We hung a privacy sign for them not to enter our room but they disregarded it and entered the room anyways. Apparently they tried to clean it but instead they ruined my shoes socking wet by flipping the iron on top of it and the water inside the iron got all over my used shoes and it was trashed.

Was in town for a birthday party and didn't want to drive back so late. So I booked the place on third party site which was great the price was incredible! I wasn't expecting a lot because of the entrance and how you have to go down steps. The room is super small it had two twin beds. No thrills type of place but I can see what type of activity happens if you know what I mean. It wasn't dirty however, the sheets did not look crisp/clean. There was no remote we got one from the front desk and it still didn't work. So to put it frankly it was close to the tunnel,It was cheap, it served its purpose.

Great location. Comfortable, clean room. No frills, just a good, basic room at an affordable price. My only suggestion would be to add a bedside lamp. The only light near the bed is the main room light and the switch is by the door.

There wasn't a single lamp in my room, not a bedside light or desk lamp or even wall sconces. Just full blast overhead halogens with that harsh white/blue light. I get it; it's a budget hotel, but I needed to spend some time working and it was very uncomfortable. It felt like a bad dorm before your mom goes to Target. I could go on but, again, budget hotel so you get what you pay for, but I'll include one photo, which is the desk chair that looks like it was pulled from the alley.

I found the info on Expedia misleading. The entrance to the hotel is below ground level, and is missing the marquis that I saw on the profile dating back years. The hotel entrance was attractive in those pictures, and now it presents as a flop house. Further, I'm tall and the room only contained a wooden box, less than 6' tall as a closet, without a single hanger. Upon asking the front desk for hangers, I was given one cheap wire hanger and told it was the only one they could find. This, after he searched several other rooms and the offices there. Further, with an overcoat, as well, the closet was inadequate for someone of my height. On the plus side, the bed was exceptionally clean and comfortable, and the room otherwise well-maintained. The neighborhood, while dingy and noisy, is convenient to midtown attractions, being only 5-10 mins away from many of them. On balance, though, I'd say the hotel's Expedia rating of 2.6 (out of 5) stars is well warranted.

This place was nice for the price, and the room was fine for our one-night stay. The staff was very friendly when we checked in and the WiFi was good. The hotel seemed to be under construction in some places, which is fine because renovations are always needed. We would stay here again. The room lighting was moody; the view was OK. I would only ask that we be able to turn off the motion-sensor bathroom fan light. Also, please provide better-quality towels; they were very thin.
