Nester Finn Financial District

During my first stay, a mechanic was unable to repair the AC, and we had to be moved to another room. On this most recent stay, we again checked into an extremely hot apartment with a non-functioning AC unit. A mechanic was sent out but could not fix it that night, and the property had no alternative rooms available. As a result, we spent a miserable night in an unbearably hot room before an important day. Instead of being able to rest and prepare the next morning, we had to spend hours coordinating additional repair attempts. When one AC unit was finally fixed, the bedroom unit stopped working, which explained why the apartment had remained so hot. The AC issues added significant stress to our trip and made it impossible to relax. The property eventually offered to move us to another room, but by then it was late, and with an early flight the next morning, packing up and relocating was not a practical solution. I had high hopes for this property because it recently opened, but it appears they simply took over the former Sonder apartments without making meaningful upgrades. The units show noticeable wear and tear, feel heavily used, and the recurring AC problems suggest ongoing maintenance issues. Given the price we paid, this experience was extremely disappointing and did not provide the level of comfort or quality we expected. Photos Don’t Reflect Reality.

1. The staff was friendly and efficient. 2. The room was well-maintained and cleaned. I felt comfortable, and I could see myself staying longer. 3. Excellent location! There are convenience stores, bodegas, and larger grocery stores nearby, not to mention restaurants and subway stations. The Seaport and the Brooklyn Bridge are so close. 4. The rooftop was chef's kiss.

PROS are the size rooms you get. I booked a room with 2 queen beds and got a 2 bedroom apartment with a separate kitchen and living area -- very rare for a NYC hotel. There is a nice lounge/co-working space on 2nd floor and a rooftop. Location is good for FiDi. Walking distance to waterfront, close to Fulton subway station, which give access to east- and west-sides of Manhattan. Staff were responsive by text, but not by phone. CONS the furnishings are well below what I would expect at even a 2-star hotel -- the furniture, decoration, and lighting fixtures felt like something you'd pick up for free from Craigslist or in the clearance bin at Walmart. They did not feel comparable to the pictures on the hotel booking page, more like how'd you'd decorate a freshman dorm room. Bed and table were damaged. Lights were totally mismatched and uncomfortably bright white. Rooms were poorly cleaned -- substantial dust under the beds, used washcloth left in the bathroom from prior guest, nail clippings on the bed. All hard wood floors with no rugs or carpeting. Walls are all bare white with only a couple random cheap wall art pieces. Shower temps were tough to dial in. For a family traveling to NYC, this can be a great option. But it's very utilitarian -- not a place I view as a comfortable hotel stay and I likely wouldn't book again.

Great location for the waterfront & Fidi district of manhattan. Apartment was clean & had everything we needed. Only issue was the charge that was put onto my credit card when we arrived for $160 for use of the amenities (I.e the lounge & the gym). I queried this as there was no mention of the extra charge when I made the booking. They did eventually refund the money the next day, I was even told they always refund it if they are asked to. In my view this was very sneaky & it left a sour taste on what was otherwise a really good stay. Be aware of this if booking.

I loved the view of the hotel, the staff was incredibly friendly. Was probably my favorite stay of any hotel. The Roku box came in clutch especially for late night movie watching while snacking on tacos, sandwiches and pizzas!

My room had plenty of space, everything I could want, and felt really safe as a solo traveler. The building was quiet. I will definitely consider staying again next time I'm in the city for work and would definitely consider if my family was traveling with me.

Traveling with my teenage daughters can be challenging, especially when it comes to space and cost. However, our stay at Nester Finn was an absolute delight! The staff was incredibly warm, welcoming, and helpful. The rooms were clean, spacious, and equipped with all the conveniences we could have imagined. To top it off, the cost was reasonable. I highly recommend Nester Finn for any future trips to town.

Had a wonderful stay at Nester Finn. We had two beds, two baths, a kitchen and a sleeper sofa did our family. The extra bathroom is a rarity! The fitness center was excellent and the rooftop a must for relaxing at night. Definitely the best stay I've had in New York City.

Olenka (I hope I’m spelling this correctly) was working at the front desk when we checked in and she was so helpful. We got there early and she gladly took our bags, she told us of a few places around the hotel to get something to eat (Felice was a great Italian restaurant) and showed us the lounge area and workout room and explained everything to us about our stay. She was so kind and that made our experience top-notch!

Property was perfect for my weekend in New York, would definitely recommend for a longer stay, the room was furnished with a full kitchen! Room was clean, building was beautiful, amenities were amazing! Fully recommend!

It was clear that great care is taken to maintain the property to a very high standard. Overall, our experience was truly wonderful. We left feeling refreshed, relaxed, and grateful for such a memorable stay. We were welcomed and well cared for during our entire stay by Janell and Olenka at the front desk. Both concierges were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the hotel’s services and surrounding area; honestly, they made our stay at this delightful hotel just wonderful!

It was great to have the kitchen. Nice big rooms. Great location near lots of subway lines, restaurants and things to see. My room was facing another building so I couldn’t really open my blinds so that I could have some privacy. But otherwise everything was great!

If you don’t mind not having your room cleaned at all, then stay here. After a five night stay we had to beg, then make a scene to finally get our room cleaned on day 4. Excuse: we are at full capacity. Well they had zero problem taking all booking but not following through with basic cleaning is unacceptable. We threw out our rubbish and had to buy Clorox wipes to clean ourselves.

Super convenient location for our trip. Everything we needed with a block or two. The staff was friendly, earnest, helpful and kind. Easy check in and out. We had a corner room which the kids loved, especially for the view down to the water at the port. Very happy with our stay.

Really good for an overnight stay. Wiring should be completed.

Wonderful place to stay

There was a drainage problem in all of the bathroom sinks and showers. The property hasn’t been well maintained. The AC in one of the rooms was running inconsistently as well. The couch in the living room was stained as well as the bedsheets.

Great room, staff was super helpful. Kitchen was awesome. The one issue is that the windows and the walls are super thin, and it is loud. I could hear people talking on the street outside my room.

Ameire greeted me with warmth and genuine care that immediately put me at ease. Olenka went above and beyond to ensure every detail of my stay was perfect. Leah was attentive, gracious, and always one step ahead of my needs. Janell brought a level of professionalism and friendliness that is truly rare in hospitality. And Kyle rounded out an already outstanding team with his helpfulness and positive energy. The Nester Finn Hotel is lucky to have such a dedicated and talented staff. Because of them, I will absolutely be returning — and recommending this hotel to everyone I know. A truly unforgettable experience. Five stars, without hesitation.

Great and easy place to stay

My stay in financial district in NYC was wonderful. It’s worth the money for the space. Wonderful than a 4 star hotel. 800 sqt in middle of NYC is going to be my choice every time next time. It was clean in great shape and staff were very helpful.

I had a magical stay. I enjoyed the rooftop. The service was prompt. The rooms were clean, the showers worked, i'm in downtown new york city, what else can you ask for? Next time I come to new york, I'm staying here especially now that I know the neighborhood better.

Nester Finn is such an amazing place! Friendly staff, and the cutest apartment-style hotel rooms I’ve stayed in. Had everything I need and more, and so conveniently located close to subways. Also super quiet at night, and an amazing rooftop! Thank you, and I’ll be back!

It’s an apartment so there was full kitchen and extra space which was nice!

Clean, layout is a large, more instructions needed in location, parking is near by but you have to pay full price $80 a night!

My stay was very brief (only one night!) but it was fantastic. The room we had for 6 people (superior w/ sleeping den & 2 queens) was so spacious - it was shocking! And the price was unbeatable. It was spotlessly clean. The beds were a bit low for us but they were comfy. The sofa bed, however, was not as comfortable. The kitchen was properly stocked with dishes. The property is conveniently located. The rooftop patio has lots of great views & plenty of seating. The staff was welcoming and accommodating. All of the staff was fantastic & it was so nice chatting with them but Janell was our standout favorite. She is fantastic! We will be returning!

Very clean and nice

My specific room was next to a street where a loud trash truck would be running for hours and it began around 11pm and went beyond 1am some nights. This definitely affected me since I am a light sleeper- however, despite this, the bed was comfortable, the room was extremely spacious and having the option to have the kitchen and large fridge was great. All in all, I think it's a great value and despite the issue I mentioned, it isn't enough to deter me because maybe I just got unlucky. Nice and central to where I was going around to and convenient to the trains.

The rooms were nice. That’s pretty much it. We had to ask for toilet paper and towels like 3 times before they brought them to us. I asked to have the trash taken out and no one did. I had to gather all the trash myself and then when I told them I did that and where I can put it, then they came to help me. But the staff up front was very nice just some miscommunication. But I do recommend this hotel.

Arriving at the Nester Finn was quite easy. We received the keycode and everything went smoothly. We would definitely stay there again.

Such an amazing hotel for the price and location. There is a full kitchen which was a surprise for me. Definitely plan on staying here again. 10/10 for everything!!

Great new hotel, still working out a few kinks but overall nice stay for the price and location. They have key codes for room entry, and there was an issue with them working upon arrival. It took a while for it to be fixed, but management eventually got it to work and I could get into my room. It’s a great concept, but did make me a bit wary of getting in later at night when management was gone. Outside of that, the location was close to the subway and fairly quiet for NYC.

The apartment itself is quite spacious and has decent amenities. Mine specifically needed a bit of minor maintenance, but nothing that would make me rate it down. Has access to a lounge and rooftop. The front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful.

From the location to the facility was an excellent choice for what we wanted to do for the weekend. The staff was excellent, shootouts to Janell for her outstanding service. We will be back.

Check in was fast and easy, room was bigger than we expected but great room. Nice and clean. We were only there for one night so didn’t get to experience everything but definitely on our radar next time we are in NYC

Excellent full apartment space in the heart of the city. Super walkable to great restaurants, the subway, Wall St., and Whole Foods! The staff was so friendly and accommodating to my family. You really can’t find this kind of product at this price in NYC. We were in a 1 bedroom with an additional sleeping den, and it accommodated our whole family easily. The staff showed us their 2 and 3-BRs and boy, they are bigger than our house at home. The full kitchen was perfect for breakfast in the morning, and the kids loved the pool table in the lounge. We’ll be back in a few months to take advantage of the (swimming) pool once the weather is nicer. All in all, you can’t beat the location, full apartment space, and great value. Shout out to Kyle and Ameire as well for taking care of us!

Wonderful stay at Nester Finn Financial District. The staff was great and we found the unit to be very large and comfortable. We will be back this summer!
