The mattress was the only good thing. There was no hot water. The room was not clean even after asking the staff multiple times to have it cleaned. There was no microwave and no iron. We weren’t informed of any complimentary breakfast and when we did go there was nothing available to eat. There were renovations going on and it went on till 11:00 and started again at 5 in the morning, so you were not able to sleep at all. And we even got stuck in the elevator for 20 minutes causing my kids to panic. And later 911 was called because someone else got stuck not even a few minutes later. Even heard the female staff talking on the phone saying everything was okay and handled when it was the opposite of it and someone was stuck in the elevator.

This is no longer a hotel!!! They converted it into a shelter but still allow people to make reservations??? An absolute nightmare having an exhausted baby, a front desk worker who was not helpful in offering solutions to the fact that suddenly we had nowhere to stay with no warning. Absolutely unacceptable.

I decided book this room to stay since it was close by to my home. I wanted to relax in a hotel for the night with my husband. I seen reviews they’re were good and bad at the hotel. But I have to say the staff customer service lacks a lot. The first attendant that gave me the key only gave me one key. She didn’t even put the Wi-Fi password. She didn’t ask if I need an extra towels. I know I read online that they have breakfast. She didn’t even mention that they have breakfast and what time they have that. After i went one upstairs to drop off my items. I wanted to inspect the room. Everything was clean, but I was having trouble with the TV remote. It was not working. You have to press it several times for it to work. I had to go back downstairs where I spoke to another attendant to find out where I can get ice from since I was placed on the last floor, even though I booked a head. I also was able to obtain the Wi-Fi password from that attendant for the second shift. In the morning when it was time to check out as I’m getting ready 2 hours before. The shower water pressure was very low and it was cold as well. I called downstairs and spoke to the attendant and let him know that the water is cold in which room I’m in. He questioned me as if I was lying and I stated there’s no hot water. He then said that he will have a technician check on it. It took about 15 minutes for them to put on what they call hot water. This was not as a great experience that I wanted.

The bed was very comfortable and the shower had decent water pressure. It was convenient to MTA stations, about a 12 minute walk. However, we were a bit disappointed in the room servicing. We don’t expect clean towels every day or the bed to be made, but it would be nice to have the coffee pods replenished and the trash emptied. Even when we asked for more coffee we didn’t get it. Despite that, we would probably stay here again as it was a good value and a pleasant room.

I left my charger at home and needed to urgently recharge my cell phone. I couldn't speak on the parking, because I didn't need parking because I took a taxi to the hotel, and also Flatbush is a very busy Avenue, with public and private transportation. As for the Air conditioning, it was not needed during the time I was there, however there was an air - conditioning unit in the room. I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The room, bed, linens, floor, bathroom, refrigerator, towels were super clean. I definitely like the environment as well because of the easy access to restaurants, stores and transportation This is my second time staying at this hotel and I will come back again.

Shopping areas are plentiful! Heat and air conditioning good. Property says no smoking & your clothes is stink of smoke. Bathroom had a stink smell no matter how much I clean and spray deodorizer. Fights, loud music and loud conversations, it’s so ghetto. Woke up to a midnight fight things throwing everywhere and glass smashing, terrifying myself and my children. No microwave in room. Shared microwave downstairs. When addressing these things with the staff at front desk, I was told they only work there speak to manager by giving me a card. I was stuck in the elevator with my daughter until fire engine came. I never have a good experience with red roof ever and I’ve been with them a few times. It’s always convenience why I use them but never again.

My house was renovating and I needed the convenience of the stay, hence the reason I had to book more days. everything else was disturbing. It says no smoking and I had to wear mask because of the smoking. The smell of smoke on my clothes. The loud music and fighting. The bathroom is so stink, I think it comes through the vent. I spend so much on air freshener. I got scared one night because of a fight at 1am. My children were terrified! No microwave in rooms. It’s a shared microwave downstairs. I made a report about all these things at the front desk and was told, to tell the manager, they just work there. I hope I would never put in a position to have to stay there again. It’s ghetto!!!

The staff were professional, kind, and always ready to help, ensuring I felt welcomed and well cared for. The room itself was comfortable and thoughtfully appointed, with a smart TV, a refrigerator, and an ice tray conveniently located in the hallway—a great bonus. I also loved the toiletries in the shower and at the sink—they were high quality and added a nice touch. The hotel offers a continental breakfast, along with 24-hour coffee, which was fantastic. My only minor suggestion would be that a microwave in the room would have been really helpful. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and would absolutely come back. Card keys were disabled, when returning late night. No turnover service or even garbage collection. You had to literally leave the water running for a full blown 5 or more minutes straight for anything remotely warm in the shower. No bedside lamp on either side of the bed, to which I can’t remember even a hole in the wall hwy motel not having at least one, let alone, the standard that Red Roof claims. We were not informed there was no nearby ice machines anywhere on our floor or even where we could find one. You can count zero joy on the amenities that a hotel with the same status would have like soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner (hair products locked up in a wall case in the shower, but not refilled and came out pretty nasty looking like it was that cheap of a product or being there that long that the liquid dried up to a gummy consistency. Like I said, nasty. Best part was that I had to leave the water running on all faucets for a 10-15min time span in order for the water to run clear. Yes, meaning brown rusty liquid that came out in spurts. We booked this room for two reasons. One, it was closer than our last room (Ramada) to my mothers nursing facility. Two, it was fifty bucks cheaper per night. No brainer right? Yea sure. Now we know it was cheaper for a good reason. At least the bed and pillows were comfortable and the towels didn’t feel like sandpaper. Overall, it’s fine if you’re never in the room and only staying one day MAX.

Room itself, overall, was ok. Typical, small, NY hotel room. Lighting was very harsh, like being in a warehouse. The biggest issue, there was no hot water. Gentlemen at front desk said the boiler was broken. When asked when it would be fixed, he said he didn't know because he didn't work there. When we asked "you don't work here?". He repeated that he didn't work there and if we had complaints, we should put them on social media. Well, ok, then. So if he didn't work there, what right did he have to take my credit card and check us in earlier that day?? Bottom line, he just didn't care. And because of that, never again will I stay at any Red Roof anythings. There are plenty of other choices.

I was a little tentative after reading some of the reviews but this place served us really well for a weekend trip to NYC. We saw a show at the King’s Theatre and this hotel is directly across the street and was a ten minute walk to the subway which went from Brooklyn to Manhattan. It was so much more affordable than staying in Manhattan and was a nice, comfy bed and a bathroom after long days out exploring the city. If you don’t need much more than that, I recommend it.

Long version: Worst experience ever. When we arrived to check in, there was no one at the counter (which looked like a prison office). We waited 10 minutes before anyone came to see us. Then, the attendant was completely nonchalant. No politeness whatsoever. We then went to our room. It wasn't great (chipped paint, broken furniture and decoration, bad lighting), but that's not a big deal for me. I then took a shower: no water pressure, and the cleanliness left much to be desired. But the worst was yet to come. When I went back to the bathroom, a little later, I saw a cockroach. Then another... In the end, I killed about ten of them in about an hour. And I don't know if it's the bugs themselves or the pesticides they use but I got a sore throat and allergy symptoms after 1 hour being there. So we decided to leave. Once again, the attendant didn't apologize, treated us arrogantly, almost denying the situation even if I showed him couple of cockroaches in a bag) and offered no help whatsoever. He seemed to think the situation was pretty normal. We asked for a refund and he told us he couldn't do anything. Ugh...

It was close and convenient for that purpose. The challenges and disappointments with this location were pretty big. It’s in a rough neighborhood. At this time (late summer 2025), there’s a lot of homelessness surrounding this area. There’s a lot of folks living with some mental health challenges out in the public. Most people in the community were great, kind, and welcoming. You can see that the permanent residents are working on it. If you’re sensitive to the grittier side of urban neighborhoods, this isn’t the place for you. The food and culture in the surrounding area is amazing. Totally worth it for that part of the visit. The hotel facilities were adequate. They could not be described as comfortable in any way. The bed was literally broken. The mattress was so worn that sitting on the end of the bed or the side of the bed was like sitting in a tire swing. The television was broken and would not power up. The power outlets beside the bed were broken and non functioning. The main hotel WIFI was broken, but an alternative was provided. There are no lamps, or alternates to the fluorescent overhead lighting. The no smoking & no vaping policy seems to have minimal enforcement, as our floor smelled of marijuana every day. Our room was cleaned 1 time during our stay. There was a used hand towel and facecloth leftover in the room from a previous visitor.

The room was very much like a dorm room. One overhead light, no reading lights next to the bed. Nothing on the walls so the room seemed very sterile with no warmth whatsoever. The check in counter was behind plastic and you had to speak through a monitor and put your paper work through a slot at the bottom made me feel that we were checking into a hotel in a rather sketchy neighborhood. The breakfast room was full of plenty of different things, but it had the same sterile quality.

We wanted to be near our son's apt, and the reviews were great. We booked the upgraded king room “with snacks,” assuming we’d be in good hands. We weren't. The term perfunctory is high praise for this place. The best I can say is that we weren't shot, stabbed or mugged and we had a toilet. The “lobby” area of the property keenly resembled the entrance to a New York restroom, the “reception” desk was tucked behind thick bulletproof glass (real comforting) with literally no way to hear what the clerk was saying. He had to open and stand in the doorway of the the locked enclosure to talk to me when I asked where I could safely park my car for the night as the signs indicated street cleaning from 3am-6am. “You have to look at the signs,” he mumbled. We drove a half mile away and parked in a garage before taking our lives in our hands walking back. The two 20-year-old uninterested cops who were loitering in the entryway when we returned didn't bother to ask if we were guests. It was 11pm. We made it to our “cell.” The overhead light, the only one in the room, was so interrogationally-bright, it lit up the block below. I supposed it was to make up for the lack of bedside lighting. I've never stayed in a hotel that didn't have a sconce or light by the bed. That upgrade with snacks? A lie. We had to pay for the water. No amenties come to mind. Don't book this "hotel." Find an established one run by people who understand the difference between a hotel and a grunge youth hostel.

The room I reserved had the view of the theater which was awesome. The cleanliness of the room was okay the floor seemed to be a little dirty. The room was on the smaller side too but it did the job. I did notice the staff had cleaned the room while I was away which I wish they had given me the “do not disturb sign.” There is also no parking so I had to find a parking garage nearby. Overall the stay was pretty average. They did have a breakfast included which was nice. Bagels and boiled eggs with coffee and juice. I did like the convenience of being right infron rod the theater plus the window view of the theater was the cherry on top. The area is lively and full of culture. New York will be new York the city never sleeps. I enjoyed my stay will come back soon.

The property is fine, now nost lobbies have plus seating and beautiful areas, this hotel has something that resembles the entrance to a jail...now maybe the location influenced the lack of care for that area. My room was perfect! No issues at all, do i wish there was a microwave ofcourse! But its not strange to not have one in a room these days. My experience was 9 only bc of the lack of a microwave, the area is gritty and if ypure not used to city life i can imagine it might scare you, me i was fine, everything is at arms length..food, shopping, transportation. Everything about the property gives the impression of imminent danger when there is none. The lobby personel is behind glass and barely communicate where to go. It also feels like locals might use the hotel more than out-of-towners. The room only had a bright overhead light, so we used the light from the bathroom to have some softer light in the room. The walls are paper-thin. The rooms are super tiny, but it worked for the one night we needed the stay. The sink in the bathroom has little net flies that would flare up every time you used the sink.

Upon checking in, I was immediately unhappy with the state of the hotel. While at the check-in desk (which was set behind some unwelcoming bullet-proof glass in an otherwise furniture-less but trash-filled lobby), multiple police officers were leaving & entering the hotel, immediately making it an unsettling experience. On the way to the room, the hallways/people in the rooms were extremely loud (it was well past 2am), dirty, with trash strewn on the floors, & smelled of cigarette & weed smoke. In the room, the bedsheets had hair in them & were COVERED in mysterious stains. The room had clearly not been cleaned before our arrival, as aside from the sheer amount of staining on the bedding, the floors were sticky, stained, & had small piles of crumbs, the furniture was stained & dirty, & the walls had wet/fresh looking, red drips on them (were unable to tell what it was but it looked.... suspicious), as well as being covered in stains & scuff marks. We spent maybe 30 minutes in the room trying to decide what to do, as we were extremely uncomfortable with the idea of staying the night. We left & went to the check-in desk, & tried to check-out. As we were doing so, ANOTHER set of cops entered the hotel, making it clear that this hotel would not be a safe place to stay. I paid $230 for a filthy, unsafe environment that I did not even stay the night. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. Horrible experience.

The front desk/check in was smooth but the lobby and conditions were sub-par. My room had a heavy cigarette smell (even though it’s supposed to be a smoke free place) and was even worse when the AC was turned on. The floor was sticky and the chair had ~mysterious~ stains. The bed had soooo many stains from the box to the sheets. The tv does not connect to the internet so you’re stuck flipping through cable. Overall it would be better to just splurge a little more for a cleaner hotel stay. I got what I paid for I guess.

Room was clean, bed was comfortable, but the rooms are tiny especially for a "premium" room. With the size of the premium room being as compacr as it was it made me wonder how tiny the non-premium rooms were. Check in was fast and seamless. The elevator needed to be mopped but staff did take care of that early in the morning, in all fairness I checked in very late. The refrigerator in our room wasn't colong properly but since it was a single night stay I didn't bother to complain. The front desk staff did not provide any "snack" as mentioned in the room description but instead let us know breakfast was in the morning. Breakfast had bagels, toast, cream cheese, cereal, yogurt, fruit, muffins, orange juice, apple juice (that was watery), but the bagels and muffins were really good. Please provide your guests with butter for their toast and bagels that would be my only suggestion concerning breakfast. Butter is a go to given option for bread items. All in all it was not a.bad stay I would stay again for a brief stay.

No garage parking, no hairdryer, no kettle or microwave. Property is ok, area feel unsafe. I had to park my truck at a nearby garage and walk about 15 minutes back to hotel.

The check in process was easy and the staff was couteous. The room reeked of pot and cigarettes but we opened the window and everything aired out. We went to park the car down the street and there was towels in the hall that reeked of and 100% were covered in piss, plus housekeeping had stuff piled up in both elevators. Next morning we found our way down to breakfast only to discover there was no continental breakfast anymore. It's now a bag you obtain at the front desk. Which was horrid, hard bagel and moldy oranges. No drink if I recall. When my friend went to ask about it the front desk was rude and said she was lying about the mold. Weird. We go to a concert at Kings Theater, wonderful location, not an area I'd walk far for thats for sure. When we came back. We stopped to buy water, the gentleman at the counter offered to comp our water because of breakfast, he was very kind, best worker we met there give him a raise, May 7th 11pm he was the best. Went back upstairs to get some sleep and what do you know there's some trashy people in the hallways screaming and cussing for literal hours. 11p-3a overall I'd stay again in a pinch. ALSO the showers are really small so beware if you're plus size the door is like 18 in wide and the shower itself is maybe 2 feet by 4 feet.

The Vybe Brooklyn / Flatbush was an interesting stay. From the street view, the hotel looked closed. No sign on the front doors indicating where to enter the hotel. There was a lone marquis sign way up towards the fifth floor, definitely not visible from street level. It appears as if this Hotel was possibly closed during covid times and then reopened recently under new management. The rooms were decent, however there was a fine layer of dust covering the walls and surfaces. The room was too small for the two queen beds located within the room. The bathroom was nice. The mini fridge that was there was covered with stickers like it was in someone's college dorm room at some point in time. As for the ventilation system, not sure if that was working because there was a fine mist of smoke, vape and incense. The neighborhood was working class with some questionable and colorful characters sprinkled throughout. The restaurants that were located nearby were authentic and excellent, especially Angelo's Pizza. If you are looking for a place to sleep while seeing a show at the King's Theater across the street, this is the place - affordable and decent, not perfect.
