Reviews
The hotel receives mixed reviews with guests appreciating the cleanliness, comfort, and spaciousness of the rooms, as well as the friendly and helpful staff. However, there are consistent complaints about the shuttle service to and from the airport, with guests experiencing long wait times, overbooking, and lack of communication. The location of the hotel is also a point of contention, with some guests finding it convenient for its proximity to the airport, while others feel it is in a rough or unsafe neighborhood.
- Clean, comfortable, and spacious rooms
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Unreliable and poorly managed shuttle service
- Location is either inconvenient or in an unsafe neighborhood

Cons: The transportation they have only picks up and drops off in one place. We found it much easier to bring our car to a long term parking lot and take their shuttle to and from the airport. There is only street parking for the hotel. I don't know where else we would have parked if we didn't find a space out front. The elevators only worked when you scanned your room key. I was asked twice to give people entry who "didn't have their room key". When I told them I would not help them and to go to the front desk, they walked out of the hotel. This did not make me feel very safe at all. One man even got upset with me that I would not scan my key to give him access to some random hallway. NO thanks. Lastly, the main lock on our door was missing. It was late when I realized, so I used the couch and my luggage to secure the door so no one could come in. There was truly no where to sit and eat. You had all the fast food restaurants within walking distance, but it was not what I had in mind for a relaxing dinner before our travel day with an 18 month old. Advice: bring some white noise!
- 5/5
Area around hotel was noisy but I guess it’s to be expected for a hotel near a major airport.
- 4/5
Great overnight stay, comfortable beds, great staff, great breakfast…neighborhood is not a great one for walking parks or dining. 10 min (depending on traffic) to JFK with shuttle
- 5/5
Nice clean hotel, great staff. A little busy and noisy around the hotel but felt safe. Convenient location.
- 4/5
Twice it was mentioned it was not in a great neighborhood so that made us nervous. We weren’t there to walk around so that did not effect us. Staff was nice, breakfast was good.
- 5/5
All of the staff were extremely helpful and kind. The room was very neat clean and up to date. The shuttle was timely and the driver courteous. There is traffic noise but the hotel can’t be responsible for that
- 3/5
Convenient and clean
- 4/5
Very clean and friendly staff
- 1/5
The system is very bad
- 5/5
i didn't sleep all night because of the alarm outside but that was not the hotel's fault.
- 5/5
Very nice and clean, staff members are nice and helpful. The airport shuttle is definitely a plus.
- 4/5
New facility. Comfortable rooms.
- 3/5
My room was very noisy
- 5/5
I’ve stayed at this hotel several times I like the location short walk to the subway and they pick up from the airport. All the breakfast is very good. The hotel is very clean and it’s in a decent area.
- 5/5
Our flight got canceled and we had to stay overnight. This hotel had a room available so we picked it as it was close to the airport. Rooms were very clean, nothing fancy. But the staff went over and above to help us out- gave us an extension on checkout, arranged a shuttle back to the airport- this was much appreciated given how stressed we were with the flight delays.
- 5/5
Excellent
- 4/5
The rooms were great, clean and roomy. The staff could not tell us places to eat outside of the 3 gas food restaurants on the corners. Could not tell us how to get to the subway to get to the zoo and what directions.
- 4/5
overall ok ; thought continental breakfast one of the better; poor shuttle experience arriving from JFK
- 3/5
I almost checked out on my 2nd day after receptionist guy with Glasses was nasty to me... i will never step foot in that hotel again because of him.. beautiful place tho but its sad that customer services is poor.
- 5/5
The area isn't great but there are plenty of food options
- 1/5
Already filed a report with the BBB to dispute the case as well since the managers here are unprofessional.
- 1/5
Our flights we delayed and by the time we could check in our room was not available and show as a no show. We were not able to stay at your hotel. Please see that we were not billed for the room.
- 5/5
This hotel is amazing. It is clean, quite and free breakfast, We enjoyed our stay,
- 1/5
I arrived JFK around 11pm and texted for the Shuttle only to learn that the hotel was completely sold out and would not honor my reservation. They did nothing to help me secure a new reservation. I ended up having to pay much more and have to take Uber to and from for even more additional expense. It was a very unpleasant experience.
- 4/5
The hotel itself was beautiful. The room was clean and spacious. Parking was a nightmare. They have a parking garage but there are barely any spots and to enter the garage you have to call the front desk and wait for them to buzz you in. Not convenient in Queens
- 5/5
Very clean, new hotel. Breakfast was great with lots of hot options, fruit , cereals. We paid for parking and liked that it was a secure lot and easy to come and go. The only issue was that we didn’t feel comfortable with the closest subway station at night and ended up taking a Lyft to avoid walking there late at night.
- 5/5
The property was excellent however at. Night the area around the hotel did not feel safe.
- 1/5
This property did not have the type of room available that I booked even though I arrived early and called to confirm my room was assigned to me. I confirmed via phone around 4pm that I had a room on the 3rd floor with the front desk. I arrived at 1:30am from the US Open very tired only to find they had no room for me. I booked 2 queens and they best they could offer was to have a dirty King room cleaned for me.
- 5/5
All and all a very nice stay.
- 5/5
Great place
- 1/5
I'm also certain that this hotel resembles a prison, with many cameras and locked doors.
- 4/5
The hotel was very nice but the location not so much.
- 2/5
We were very disappointed. We took that hotel because it was easy to find, with a free shuttle from the airport. Unfortunately, the shuttle never came and we had very hard time to get to the hotel. We calld the hotel like 5 times and they proposed nothing, just saying : shuttle is a free service, not a mandatory service. As such, just be prpared to add a 30dollars cab to the fee, as ther is no way to get there except by cab.
- 1/5
No one came to pick us up and we ended staying at the airport. I will not be paying for the hotel. Terrible experience, 3 seniors and 2 children and myself waited almost an hour for shuttle and multiple calls but no shuttle to hotel.
- 1/5
If you want the shuttle from JFK, you will call the hotel and press 2. Then they will tell you to call a different number. Now you need to find a pen and paper to write the number. We called the number, then it said to text and provide your code which we do not know what it is! We called the main number and pressed 0 for assistance and of course no one answers. We ended up spending 30 minutes calling at different time using our international cell phone (roaming charges) until finally someone answered. In addition, we arrived at the hotel for check-in and there was no greetings and lacked customer service. Note that 1 night cost us $389 plus tax ($440 total). It is not worth staying there and we plan to not use this hotel during our quarterly trip to New York.
- 5/5
Rooms above ground. Shuttle driver could have been more helpful w bags.
- 1/5
I have stayed in 4 different hotels during my 17 day trip. By far this is the worst. I waited for the shuttle for one hour and never showed up. Their customer service does not answer the calls….
- 4/5
Near to JFK. Shuttle provided.
- 1/5
Waited for 1.5 hours in JFK for the shuttle, and then a full bus came, leaving most of the people behind! All the at midnight!
- 3/5
Not to mention- I called for shuttle pick-up from the airport and was told it would take 20-30 minutes. An hour and half past still no shuttle. Had to call Lift, slow as the driver went upon arrival the shuttle was just parked in front of the hotel. So unprofessional, (unless they have a certain number they must meet before going out). Overall the Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Housekeeping was amazing! Always remember to tip your maid service they work hard to keep rooms clean. One small note to management- I know it's summer and moist. Please Spray your fitness, Lobby & C Level Bathrooms daily for the gnats! They were annoying.... OVERALL- I would stay again for the room comfort and cleanliness of the hotel with roomy space compared to others. I am a frequent Springhill Suites nationwide Customer!!
- 4/5
Nice upgrades and very quiet area
- 5/5
Nice hotel large rooms for families. Shuttle from airport very slow needs improvement
- 5/5
Good and easy experience.
- 3/5
Took over an hr for the shittle to come to pick us up
- 5/5
Accommodating employees Friendly staff Delicious breakfast options
- 5/5
Overall experience was good
- 4/5
for some reason, there was no hair dryer. This is the first time I have run into this anywhere.
- 5/5
Ideal only a bus ride from my venue
- 1/5
They give out my room to others even I have a reservation on the room. They give it out for a higher price.
- 1/5
After booking online the hotel indicated they are at capacity and will cancel the reservation
- 1/5
The room smelled like urine. It was gross. Poor area, not safe.
- 5/5
Clean and nice
- 5/5
Utilized shuttle service to and from JFK. Slight wait for pick up on both ends. Rate shuttle service 4/5. I would stay there again if needing hotel around JFK. It seems that many airline staff utilize this hotel and I believe this is a positive. However, probably would not venture out on foot in the area.
- 5/5
although overall the property itself was very good, i would not stay there again, i had to park outside because parking is very small luckily parking was right in front of hotel
- 5/5
It's very clean and safe.
- 5/5
Nice hotel. Conveniently located and near public transportation.
- 4/5
called for a shuttle from JFK, unavailable. asked for shuttle service from hotel to LaGuardia, hotel would not take us to La Guardia. disappointment,
- 3/5
The room was extremely cramped and in the basement. Other than that, everything was great.
- 4/5
Seems recently renovated and clean with compact space footprint; parking was awkward. Surrounding area wasn't very appealing.
- 3/5
The staff were good, the room was nice. The location was ok. The parking garage was terrible. Very limited parking space and same emtrance and exit. As i was going in the garage I had to reverse out so that someone leaving the garage could exit so i go down in the garage. That makes no sense. Then i have to pay to park and the spacing in the garage is horrible. If you get in late the only parking spots causes you to block in someone. Pleaae fix the garage. Its really inconvenient.
- 5/5
One front desk employee could use a reminder that they are in the service industry
- 2/5
Getting worse and worse when i checked in i was told it was 50 a night for incendentles i was there for 2 nights to my surprise i see a change on my card for 200 dollars i call the front desk they gonna tell me its 100 a night they need to make up there minds they dont even tell me they just took the money. Im done with this hotel.
- 5/5
It was a nice stay. We liked most of the things. Thanks.
- 3/5
The bathroom shower was not clean.
- 5/5
Everyone was very nice, the hotel was clean and updated, too.
- 5/5
Excellent! Super comfortable beds, helpful staff, breakfast is great, clean, quiet, I didn't hear anything lol, we enjoyed our stay! Thank you.
- 4/5
Hotel was clean, staff friendly, parking garage was weird. We took the car down and a person was supposed to open door for us but no one did and we couldn’t get in so hd to drag all bags back up the whole ramp back to the front street entry door…with my child asleep. Was not cool. The guy said oh sorry he was supposed to open for you
- 4/5
For a new property, there were surprising things that didn’t work in my room - one of the light switches, several of the outlets were plugged (could not plug anything into them). I liked the room layout and planning. There was tremendous street noise all night and construction noise in the morning. Surrounding neighborhood is dirty and unsafe compared to others I have experienced around the world.
- 4/5
Good place
- 5/5
Excellent front end staff! Shuttle service, breakfast, room all were excellent. Location was a plus!
- 5/5
Loved this place! Staff was super friendly and helpful. Would definitely come again. Only downside is the surrounding area. Doesnt feel safe at all to walk around at night so Uber is a must if you’re going.
- 5/5
The staff was very nice.
- 5/5
My first time staying here, and it will not be last anytime I'm in Queens
- 5/5
Clean
- 5/5
Everyting was nice
- 5/5
Front desk agent was friendly
- 3/5
When i first started to say at this hotel i was very pleased but now not so much. They are started to be cheap Skipping on everything keeping the prices high but giving you less for your money not good business practice.
- 5/5
The hotel is nice. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The neighborhood is a bit questionable especially after dark. Close to the subway making it easy to travel to the city. Not much of a breakfast selection. Definitely a good choice with easy airport access.
- 5/5
It was clean, cozy & comfortable. It suited our needs perfectly. Plenty of hangers. The temperature was easy to control. The couch pulled out into a bed with bedding already available in the room. The lighting was nice and appropriate with reading light options. The bathroom had just the right amount of shelving & space for 2 people. The staff was friendly. The breakfast area & conferences rooms were very nice. I did not use maid service, so I don't know about eco-friendliness. Locally, there was a McD's, Wendy, & Dunkin' close by for a quick snack or meal. It is close 2 different subway/train options: 5 min Uber to Jamaica LIRR and a short 5-8 min walk to the subway entrance. It is about an hours ride from Manhattan to the hotel during rush hour, but about 30 mins by LIRR rail plus a 5 min Uber. We did not try to find any upscale restaurants in the area. But after sightseeing in Manhattan, it was nice to spend cozy evenings in the hotel.
- 2/5
I do not recommend staying at this property if you're traveling with a car. Their parking spaces are limited, not well designed and not directly accessible from the hotel. And they charge $40 per day.
- 4/5
Beds were comfortable. Staff was friendly and problems were resolved. Transportation from the airport was unacceptable.
- 5/5
My stay was better than expected fast check in. Clean quiet. Modern decor. Great amenities gym free breakfast etc.
- 5/5
Lawrence, duty officer for that timing was efficient, friendly, welcoming and helpful despite being the only one doing guest intake, including staff from arriving flights.
- 5/5
It was a short 3 block walk to subway which for a tourist could take you all the way to the world trade center /9/11 Memorial . But you soon find out everything is close to the subways
- 2/5
Our first stay at this hotel few months ago was much better than this one. We went back to this hotel after trying so many others near JFK airport. However, this stay was terrible because we got a room on the ground floor facing the street and it was impossible to get a good night sleep after flying 8 hrs from overseas. Plus we wanted to catch the shuttle back to JFK the next day and they told us that we either take the 6:30AM shuttle or we would have to wait until 8AM. So we opted to go at 6:30AM but had to wait at the airport much longer than necessary! So, shuttle service time is not very convenient.
- 5/5
Clean and beautiful hotel!
- 4/5
No shuttle to La Guardia Airport is inconvenient.
- 5/5
No restaurant or bar, just a small “snack hall” type thing. I ordered UberEats which was easy enough. Staff was very friendly and rooms didn’t have the little bottles of shower gel etc and had it in refillable bottles in the shower. Always a bonus in my mind. Much more environmentally friendly. Would stay again
- 3/5
We like to stay at Marriotts. This was the worst! The area that the hotel is located is horrible and unsafe to walk. Drug dealing, loud music from cars all night and police sirens constantly would describe the environment. The hotel inside is nice. The employees are also nice. Our room was very nice. The surrounding area around the entire neighborhood of the hotel is scary. It feels unsafe to walk to the subway from the hotel. I would not recommend this property.
- 4/5
I love visiting this hotel however it would be nice to be able to control the air in the room it gets really cold.
- 2/5
Will not stay at this hotel again, the airport shuttle was a no show, had too find our own way to hotel, and the breakfast was one of the poorest excuse we have seen in all of our travels.
- 5/5
Hotel was nice and clean but parking was horrible you pay for parking but might not have a spot and if you have a lot of luggage get out in the front and get luggage inside because you have to walk two levels up and around the building to get to the front entrance
- 4/5
Paul was very nice
- 1/5
The property was overbooked and the receptionist tried to look for other hotels nearby but there was none. I had to stay the entire night in the cafeteria. Expedia needs to refund me US$260
- 5/5
The food, cleanliness, big room
- 3/5
The property was clean. It felt safe. The front desk staff did a great job orchestrating the shuttle rides to and from the airport.
- 4/5
the property is on the new and pretty decent, complimentary breakfast was fresh better than I expected- cons have to pay for parking and its expensive - since when do we have to pay for parking staying at a hotel! no hotwater /tea/coffee as complimentary, fridge in our room wasn't working all the food spoiled
- 5/5
Property is first class. Downside is the area. Think of the walking dead and that’s what it’s like. No joke.
- 4/5
It was a one night stay and we left at 4:00am to catch a flight. Everything seemed OK.
