    Room was much larger than a typical NYC hotel room. Elevator was fast! Front desk staff members (Brandon was so nice!) were extremely friendly and helpful. Location was close to St. Patrick’s, Rockefeller, and flagship stores (NBA, Hoka, etc.). Central Park was a 15-minute walk. Overall I would definitely stay here again.

    Nice midtown location and the balcony is a pretty unique touch. Room was a little worn in spots but was clean and neat. The shower was awesome and comes highly recommended.

    I had a wonderful stay at The Gotham. I recommend booking a room with a private terrace. The Gotham is one of the few hotels in the city that offers this feature. I ended up spending more time on the terrace than in the room. I stayed on the 14th floor and it was quiet. From inside the room, I heard little to no city noise. The Skyline Jr. Suite with Terrace was very spacious.

    The facility fee is ridiculous considering the house has no amenities to speak of. Are we really paying facility fees to ride the elevator? They provide access to an off-premises gym that is a dump. I couldn't be more disappointed with the experience.

    We had a lovely little balcony room on the 21st floor, where there were only two rooms (we booked both, one for us and one for friends). The room itself was extremely clean, the floors were not carpeted (LOVE), the bed was comfortable, and it was relatively quiet considering the noise outside on the street. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I couldn't ask for more, really. We will definitely stay again!

    By NYC standards, the room was huge. We had a king size bed with room to move around, a full sized bathroom, mini fridge and an entry way closet. The room has a walk out balcony - but it's facing the interior of the building so it's very loud outside due to the HVAC for the hotel. The room itself is very quiet, you just can't leave the door/window open at night due to the noise. Because it's interior facing, there isn't a view and the room is a bit dark - but we were only in it to sleep, so it didn't matter. Location was amazing - 2 blocks to grand central, 5 to Times Square. Great coffee next door - walking distance to central park, good restaurants and great shopping. Was perfect for our stay. Would have liked a few complementary bottles of water in the room. We had a "mini bar" credit, but there wasn't any water in the mini bar so we didn't use the credit. The HVAC noise is annoying when you want fresh air, but not a big deal in total.

    The location is perfect! The only thing that I was disappointed about is that when I made the reservation, I selected a room with a city view. We were given a room on the 5th floor with visibility that did not compare to what was advertised on the website. Other than that, everything was clean, staff very helpful, and the cost was reasonable for the number of days we stayed.

    Was fine. I was very disappointed that our room did not have a balcony, as it was pictured in the photo when I booked. I carefully chose a room with a balcony and specifically this hotel for that reason. Very misleading. Your photos don’t match up to what you offer your guests. It also said that we were supposed to get two free drinks, which we did not get. Also misleading. It said on our room key envelope that we had a $10 mini bar credit, which we did not use because nothing was labeled with a price. We wanted a hotel with a balcony with a view of the city, as this was our 30th anniversary and unwanted it to be special. Your advertising is misleading.

    Very nicely boutique hotel in midtown with great transportation options right next to the hotel. Dining options- on site restaurant that does room service and in addition- next door cafe ! I love everything about this place. Large rooms with balconies- big plus when you travel in the summer. I also like hardwood floors in the room- ni carpet.

    The Gotham is an adorable small hotel that is run with very competent staff who you will be able to engage with easily. The Juliet balcony's are a bonus and provide a view of New York life and fresh air. I enjoyed the lush bedding and a room without carpeted surfaces. The mini bar was very well stocked for snacks, soft drinks, wine and alcohol. The restaurant is very attractive and offers a cozy atmosphere. Tends to be a bit loud if you have hearing issues. They offer a nice menu and specialty drinks. I'm hoping when I come back they will have a Smart Tv.

    We are going to make this our go-to hotel when we visit NYC. We try to visit a few times a year and have tried a lot of different places and the Gotham is by far our favorite!!! It’s the largest room we have ever stayed in, it was clean and comfy too! The best part of our experience was the option to have a late check out for a nominal fee. We ended up having to leave before our late check out time because I got a terrible migraine and they refunded us the fee!! We didn’t even ask or expect that would happen so it was an absolute wonderful surprise. Thank you Gotham, we will be back!!

    Gotham Hotel is a great central location for NYC. Very close to attractions but tucked ever so slightly away from the crowds. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The room we had was spacious with a balcony off the room and a community balcony on the same floor. Espresso machine in room. Not run of the mill, but the mattress was very firm so keep that in mind when booking.

    This was the worst stay of my life. Everyone who sees these 5 star ratings, don't believe it. The rooms are a mess, dingy, not like the pics (check reddit, you'll see) and on top of it I complained to get a refund 15 mins after we saw the room. Hope you like youR TV with BLUE TINT for no reason, not even a smart tv in this "LUXURY BOUTIQUE" They ignored the request from Expedia my entire trip. I couldn't afford to leave without the refund, so we were stuck to top it off, they lied and said we drank the ENTIRE FRIDGE- who the hell pays those prices when theres a million corner stores? We didn't but the manager made it clear that it was retaliation since when I said I didnt drink/eat those items he said "well you've also been leaving us bad reviews" HUH?! those things dont even matter with each other. They refused to respond to refund request so in the end they can say "well you stayed so... oh well" TRASH place, 0 stars. Horrible experience

    The window panels had tape annd appeared damaged, as if they had been broken previously, and several of the window shades were not functioning properly or wouldn’t close at all. That said, the bed was comfortable, and the rest of the room and bathroom were clean. The staff was friendly and accommodating, which I appreciated. I also liked the added security of needing a key card to access the elevator, and the smart TV was a nice feature. However, getting to the hotel was extremely frustrating due to ongoing construction. One-way traffic and constant road closures made parking very difficult, often taking hours to figure out a route. The parking validation was a nice touch, though. One night, the crowd in the hotel felt a bit off, which impacted the overall experience. Considering the price I paid, I expected the room to be immaculate. Overall, I don’t believe this hotel should be rated as “wonderful” on Expedia, and I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

    This was our second stay with the Gotham. Both times the staff was more than accommodating and very friendly. The parking garage across the street made it very convenient for NYC. Will stay here many more times I’m sure. Highly recommended for the location as it’s close to everything.

    Within 2 hours of checking in, I jumped in the shower and mid-soap the fire alarm starts going off in my room. If you want to talk about a freakout, try being on the top floor of a Manhattan hotel, naked and wet, and trying to figure out what to do. I grabbed a robe and threw my hair in a towel and was about to run down 25 flights of stairs before realizing the alarm was only going off in the room, not the hotel or stairwell. I called the front desk and they confirmed there was no fire and they would send someone up. From speaking to the staff, they said this has happened before and it's the steam from the shower that sets off the alarm, so please shower with the door closed. There is no fan or vent in the bathroom nor is there any sign or indication of keeping the door closed so you don't have a near-heart attack when trying to take a shower. It was a horrible way to start my vacation weekend in the city and I felt like an idiot, standing there in a robe and towel with socks and boots on while someone checked the room. The staff didn't seem overly apologetic nor did they offer up anything for the scare and inconvenience, like some extra bottles of water or anything. The rest of the time the stay was perfectly fine but the start was enough to make me reconsider staying at the hotel again.

    We've stayed here before and it's quickly becoming our accommodation of choice when visiting Broadway. It's close to everything. As it is in the heart of everything, it was very loud -- more than usual though. Also, the Reading Room closes early and cannot be charged to the room. Not a "dislike," jut inconvenient.

    The terrace window had visible sealing material from leakage and the glass was fogged, affecting the main skyline-view feature I specifically booked. The blackout shade near the desk also did not work. In a follow-up email, General Manager Kristina Tinaj confirmed replacement parts had already been ordered for storm-related window/blind damage, meaning these issues existed during my stay. Shortly after arrival the bedding had to be replaced due to cleanliness concerns. The bathroom sink leaked underneath during use and drained very slowly; I recorded video and showed it to Srdan while onsite. The heater also did not maintain temperature even when set high, and the bathroom door hook was broken. Housekeeping entered after only one knock earlier in the stay. Later I allowed entry only to place towels on the bed, but the room was cleaned beyond what I authorized and the patio door was left open, making the room very cold. I raised these issues with the manager on duty, Dante, but was told the only adjustment available was a facility-fee refund unless I checked out early. Despite confirming repairs were pending, the hotel declined further compensation. This did not reflect the standard expected for a terrace-category stay.

    The staff were very nice and helpful. The bed was very uncomfortable maybe the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept on. There’s no actual lounge to relax in other then the Reading Room bar that closes early and there is a rooftop spot but when it’s cold and windy there isn’t any heat source up there. It was ok for the weeend but we won’t be staying there again.

    We liked the location and the rooms are quite big. The staff are all amazing and happy to help in any way. If you call down for something , it’s sent up in minutes ! They give you bathrobes and slippers and other amenities in the room. The pillows are too soft and you can’t get as comfortable as you would like. . There was a smell of cigarettes and marijuana smoke wafting up all night from the back balconies or alleyway , not sure. And the doors slam really loudly above you and beside you. That could be fixed I think.

    Room was clean. Gentlemen who checked me in was great. Super nice and friendly. Some people were having a party all night. Screaming, slamming, doors, smoking, and holding the elevator door. Finally for the 2nd time at 5:30am security came upstairs. When security left the lady proceed to scream you b&$@$es called the ops. F$%k you’ll. When I spoke to the desk about it in the morning the guy says “ Yeah they were having a party. We saw it on the cameras. Sorry! “ I was like sorry I was up all night. He basically shrugged his shoulders. 10 mins later I get an email refunding me $27 of the $270 I paid for a horrible night.

    Nice enough hotel, a few things that were disappointing. No room safe, which would have helped. Top up of supplies, such as mini bar and coffee machine were reliant on guests calling reception. The blinds in room were not working properly, which left a large gap for office workers opposite to see. Had to request bath robes to help. Staff were great and very helpful, which made the stay better.

I have stayed at your property 3–4 times previously and have always had positive experiences. That is why I returned. Unfortunately, this most recent visit was handled in a manner that was unprofessional and unacceptable. ⸻ February 11, 2026 – Arrival (Approximately 3:00 PM) Upon arrival, my friend and I were carrying multiple heavy decorations for a Valentine’s Day proposal. A blonde doorman opened the main entrance door. However, when it became clear that we were struggling to manage our belongings and access the elevator, he did not offer assistance. A front desk employee instructed the doorman to help us upstairs. The doorman initially responded, “nah they got it,” before eventually escorting us up. Even then, he did not assist with carrying our items nor offer a luggage cart. As a returning guest, this level of service was disappointing and inconsistent with my prior experiences at the hotel. ⸻ February 11, 2026 – Checkout (11:00 PM – 11:27 PM) At approximately 11:00 PM, my partner and I were still actively cleaning the room, which contained rose petals, balloons, and proposal materials.     The room was was surprisingly spacious, bed was super comfy, and appreciated having a crib available for my baby and double operable blinds to keep the room dark! Also, LOVED having a noon check out time and the perk of free treats from the mini bar. There were aspects of the room that definitely could use a spruce up, the hotel room door didn't close all the way on it's own and I didn't notice at first that the door was propped open. The crib also looked pretty rough, chipped painted metal...but it worked fine!

    Everything was great at this hotel. It’s in a perfect location. There are great restaurants right next to it. The room was clean and shout out to our housekeeping staff. They were fantastic! The only thing that was just frustrating was check in. The person who checked us in was extremely nice but they just went through everything so fast. There were full parts of the check in I didn’t even hear and then is asking for a payment. I get that the front desk staff are tired by check in and deal with a lot of people saying the same thing over and over again. I just was thrown off by how fast he sped through everything.

    The location and the staff are fantastic! The rooms could’ve been cleaner and more consistently updated. It was a bummer that the platform we booked on said they had a gym on site and it is off-site with a a voucher. The staff said they will remedy this.     They offered breakfast after we complained about how dirty the bed and pillows were but they never sent anything! Dirties bed I’ve ever seen, they changed the sheets after we complained but mattress cover had stains all over, we asked them if they have a new one to put but the response was we don’t have any extra!!! It took an hour to came and changed the sheets . We couldn’t put our heads on pillows as you see ithe stains n the pictures. We were up all night!!!!

    I have stayed at the Gotham 30 times or more. And for whatever reason the entire time we were there the noise from outside made it impossible to sleep! There was garbage trucks from 10pm to 11 am when we checked out . And the noise was unbearable!! I’m not sure what was going on but I’m not sure if I would stay again.

    The staff had 10/10 customer service. Very welcoming and kind. The best part of our stay. As for the conditions of the room, we were a bit disappointed. The pictures online seemed a lot nicer than it was in person. The whole room was dusty. Also the hot water from the sink came out brown for an entire day. Not sure what that was about. The hotel is in a great area, which is why we chose it. But the rooms could be updated and cleaned more.

    This was our first visit to NY. When we arrived we didn’t expect the front entrance to look like it did based on the photos on Expedia. The lobby had an old musky smell but not unbearable. Front desk staff were welcoming and we were excited that 1 of 2 rooms were ready even tho we checked in well before checkin time. The rooms tho may need some renovating looked very worn and outdated especially for the price we paid. Overall, the experience was great our rooms were serviced on a daily basis and kept very tidy. Amenities were the norm and each room receives a $40 credit toward anything off the mini bar rack. The prices for the items were reasonable to say the least I still had a balance credit…use it or lose it!

    !!! I highly recommend the Gotham Hotel. Excellent service, nice rooms, ideal location for many activities in the city. The property has the convenience of a cozy breakfast room that doubles as bar, and the rooms include well-stocked mini-bars ($10 a day bar credit was a nice surprise), daily coffee pods (we drink a lot of coffee in the mornings so requested more and were always accommodated.) Enjoy lovely bonus of small balconies for relaxing with a drink and a city view in between city treks. We stayed at the top in 251, and it was a super suite. Nice living space for chilling inside if you don't want to take advantage of the balconies (2 exclusively available for this suite.) The bathroom is modern and comfortable. Reception and management was very friendly and helpful (best recommendation for car service to airport, etc.) You have many choices for lodging in NYC, and your decision can make or break your city stay. Stay at the Gotham and remove all worry! It's great!

    Poor noise insulation from hallway and neighboring rooms. All night can hear doors at 2-4 AM opening and slamming shut (doors do not close softly). There’s very little space between rooms and elevators, and there is just the door between you and that, so people talking normally while waiting for elevator is noticeable and fully audible in room. Not great if you’re coming from the west coast and hearing people and doors shut at 7A. Bathroom had blackish and brownish scum on shower handle and hose and grout. Furniture and finishes were a little beat up— very few outlets available for charging phones and the like.

    The hotel is very slick looking with good design and features. Our city view balcony room was spacious and had an interesting (though not great) view of the buidling across the street. From the balcony on the top floor (open to all guests) we got a sense of of how nice the balconies and views in the upper rooms are, so would definitely recommend going for those rooms. My main concern was the street noise was almost impossible to sleep through. If this hotel is going to have rooms on the lower floors they have to figure ut a way to soundprrof them better, like with that glass they use in airports. Anyway, other minor critiques were dirty towel found in bathroom and the coffee maker leaked when I tried to remove the resevoir and fill it (poor nespresso design I think). Restaurant looked nice, if a bit dark. Staff very nice and helpful. NYSC gym they have relationship with is a bit dingy FYI.

    Gotham has decent terraces outside some rooms. Pretty small with mediocre furniture. Our shower door leaked even used with caution. For the 3k spent, we expected better quality since a junior suite is barely enough room for 2 people. No hangers to hang anything, no dresser. The staff were friendly and kind and the view of city was nice.

    Stayed for 2 nights and even before arriving I was pleased with how responsive Srdan was to my email... Then when we arrived, Vuk and Brandon were absolute rockstars. Our experience was fantastic- they made great recommendations on places to eat late, lent us an umbrella and overall very helpful. The chair in the room was in shabby condition but the morning of departure I noticed they were rolling out all the chairs from each room to replace so even on that- very on top of the issue. Clean room, quiet and well stocked.

    I think this was one of the best check ins and hotel experiences I’ve ever gotten - probably even better than those bougie all inclusive. The staff was hands down superb. Not just at check in but throughout surprise and delights. I don’t want to recommend cuz it will mean the secret is out and I prob won’t be able to get a room next time. Jk 10000x over highly recommended!

    Absolute gem in the heart of Midtown with easy access to everything! My only complaint is the bed. The couch in the room was comfier. If they fixed the bed issue, it would have been PERFECT!

    The hotel is in a great location, close enough to everything but just far enough. The property is fairly well maintained; however, one of the two elevators was not working, which made getting around the hotel challenging. The staff provided adequate service, fulfilling their responsibilities without exceeding expectations. The rooms are pretty simple. Overall, the experience was positive.

    We were looking for something affordable but still nice and close to popular attractions. This hit the nail on the head, would definitely go back. A small detail I liked, was they had a doorman who always opened the door for you when entering and leaving.

    Our bed sheets were stained. Balcony handle fell out when I tried to open it to go outside and couldn't be fixed until the next morning. We had our stuff in the balcony and had no access to them until someone came the next day to open the door.

    The hotel is in a great location and parking is just across the street at a discount. $120 for parking 3 nites was with discount. The staff were very nice and helpful. When I was checking out the staff went out of their way to help with what I needed to get on the road.

    Pleasantly surprised w the hotel and room. It will definitely be added to my list of go to hotels. Centrally located to great restaurants and easy access. I would however choose a room on a higher floor next time as my room faced the street which could sometimes be noisier but not enough for me to complain.

    Overall it was a really good experience. The check in went quick and early at 215, service was great, the room was great, beds were comfortable. We went to breakfast the next day and it was ok, the bar was a cool atmosphere and the food was pretty basic i got a bacon, egg, cheese, everything bagel for 17$ but it was good.

    You’re paying for the location and the intimate feel of having your own facilities. The staff was very kind and helpful, always courteous. The room itself was well equipped and you have a very nice view and the location is excellent. But I was disappointed by the cleanliness of the room. For $350 a night I’d like to not see stains on the mirror and sunshades, and I’d like the door handle to the terrace to not feel like it’s gonna fall apart. It was really the little things adding up that were annoying to not make this experience truly excellent.

    Absolutely love this hotel! I stay here every time I’m in NYC. Beautiful views, upscale city vibe, and excellent service every time.
