Reviews
The Mercer Hotel in Soho is highly praised for its excellent location, friendly and helpful staff, and clean rooms. Guests frequently mention the comfortable beds and great food at the restaurant. However, some guests have expressed concerns about the small room size, particularly the queen beds, and the lack of certain amenities like a well-equipped fitness center and a functional coffee machine in the room.

The Mercer is not only quaint and well maintained but the staff truly made us feel like we were at home. From the 24/7 service to the lovely engagement from the team, I would definitely recommend staying at The Mercer!

Location The heat was not working and my daughter and I slept in coats. Restaurant waiters did not know the ingredients in their food and rather than finding out they lied that the ingredient was not in the dish which was a lie. No one helped with luggage not a good guest experience.

Location staff, cleanliness Peope coming back late at night at talking loudly in the corridors of the hotels. The room are well sound-insulated but not the door so guests coming back late can actually wake you up.

Service is excellent. Bed is comfortable. Sofa, chair and table are perfect. Bathroom well appointed and very clean. First of all, this is a true luxury hotel and high priced even for New York. but to me generally worth it. At this price though, you should be able to cast from your iPad or phone. I didn’t see a way. And the shaving mirror is not useful at all . The X00 rooms are bad unless you like a door that opens right at the bed. This room was noisy, unusual for this place. The safe was tucked into the floor of the closet so the luggage rack doesn’t fit inside. There was no room service from Sunday evening through Monday at 7…I stay here in part so I can get coffee early when I want it. One elevator was out. Leaving a note in my room is not adequate notice about a key benefit. The front desk guy made me coffee somehow which speaks to the level of service. But not the same. If the restaurant has to close, tell me when I check in and ask me what I need.

Fabulous large bath! Front desk staff are brilliant. Spacious rooms. Cosy yet spacious lounge. Close to all the bookshops and other NYC spots I enjoy. I love most things about The Mercer. I wonder sometimes if the cafe staff could be a bit more receptive and attentive.

The staff was very attentive and friendly. Turndown service was done well and the welcome amenities were nice. I had spoken with Miranda, supervising concierge, and she had helped me through various reservations and logistics for the stay. Would love to stay here again and develop a relationship.

Staff was very friendly and ready with great recommendations.

We loved everything about our stay at The Mercer. The only negative is we should have stayed longer!
- 5/5
From Tom on the overnight shift at the front desk to the day team as well (including the trainee with the glasses) everyone at the hotel was warm, helpful and kind. Sure, the rooms aren't huge, but how many suitcases do you bring anyway? The location can't be beat, and I love the fact the hotel name is nowhere to be found from the street.
- 5/5
The location one of the best parts of this hotel. You are steps away from luxury shops and restaurants. You have access to Zero Bond and a speak easy bar (located in the basement). The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean, beds were comfortable, and the space was pretty good.
- 2/5
The music from the bar downstairs was blasting late into the night preventing us to sleep Very expensive hotel for such a low quality At least either reduce your prices or offer a better service for such a cost

I definitely come back here.

The room was showing signs of wear and the tile in the shower could’ve used a cleaner. The chairs in the café were so worn out they were uncomfortable to sit in.

I only stayed one night, but the room was lovely, and the staff was so friendly! I loved the chocolate chip cookies that were waiting for me when I checked in!!!
- 5/5
Fantastic stay at a sleek boutique hotel in the heart of SoHo with exceptional service! We’ll be back!
- 5/5
It was an oasis from the constant cacophony of noise bustle and bombardment of unrelenting humanity.
- 5/5
One of the best hotels in the city. Always consistently good, with excellent service. Soho is a great part of the city and the Mercer is a perfect location.
- 2/5
Hotel: blah. Dark, cold, gloomy, moderately unkempt. My room smelled horribly of smoke. The air didn’t work. It was also dark (poor lighting) and depressing. Fixtures might have been installed in the 1600s, but I know the hotel is not that old. Value: Way overrated. Paying for location not quality. I would recommend many of the other high-end hotels in the area that are both nicer and cheaper (Soho Grand, 11 Howard, etc.)

- 5/5
Amazing spacious and cozy
- 5/5
Front desk staff were wonderful, professional, gracious and fun to talk with. Room was great - everything you need. Excellent shower pressure and body spray, giant bathtub that filled quickly, Christian Liaigre’s interiors have withstood the test of time - your own modern artists loft in the middle of Soho in the beautiful Astor building. Can’t say enough about all the staff from the door people to the room attendants to the front desk staff. A wonderful memorable time!!
- 3/5
Weird for a modern hotel. The staff tries to please. the rooms have robes, slippers as expected for the px and goodies to greet you. That’s v nice but doesn’t make up for the room being uncomfortable and stark. The room door looks like it’s from an industrial warehouse.
- 5/5
Property and rooms/bathrooms are clean, quiet and perfect location.

Great location. Very small fitness center.

Nice stay at the Mercer. We do miss the Mercer Kitchen!

- 5/5
We enjoyed all.
- 5/5
Loved everything about The Mercer - fabulous studio room, welcome note from Manager, perfect location, quiet, helpful professional staff. Only issue, the coffee was not good and the service in the cafe a tad disorganized. The on-site restaurant Sartiano's was amazing though.
