First time I stayed here and was excited because I heard so much about it. However I was disappointed that is was just okay for the outrageous price. I have stayed in hotels at that price all over the world and they were memorable. This hotel was just normal.

Wrestle and tree were distastful
- 5/5
Room was clean, spacious and wonderfully comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful, particularly Diego. Food throughout the hotel was exceptional! Lobby bar had great end-of-day cocktails in a cozy setting. Will definitely stay again!

We arranged for our group of 8 people to stay here. But one of our room wasn’t ready until after 9pm and another room smelled of cigarettes and the smoke detector was covered up by a shower cap when we checked in. Probably by the previous guest. This is not acceptable and I was embarrassed to have suggested that we stayed at the Edition.

The hotel is gorgeous. The staff is so friendly and intuitive. The location is excellent, and the views to the city, are marvelous. Worth every penny.

Clean, kind, and good service

Exceptional hotel. Close to everything you need (good food, shopping, Madison Sq park), and the hotel is one of the best in the city. Big rooms, great staff, and some great views depending on the room you get!
- 5/5
Amazing staff.
- 5/5
The staff was lovely, the Marriott app is a great addition to the experience as it gave us easy communication with the reception and housekeeping team. Matteo on the bar had the most delicious cocktails made for us whenever we came down to the bar. The Le Labo body lotion was lovely as well. The food in the clock tower restaurant was okay. The chicken liver pate was quite acidic.
- 1/5
Did not provide the room booked. Refused to honor the room category specifically selected and paid for. Only provided a double room when an executive king room was purchased and paid for.
- 5/5
Excellent service -- highly recommend the hotel
- 5/5
The only not so great were the elevators very slow
- 1/5
My room was on the 38 floor. By the time I checked out I learned it was located just below the gym.
- 2/5
When I checked in they didn't see it was prepared and had to refund me after I complained to the manager for double billing. The lights would not go off at the bed only at the entry, the wall sockets for phone did not work, the closet doors would not remain open. Most was corrected after I called and went to front desk but some items were never fixed.did work with

Hotel is awesome - really cool bar and restaurant. Great location as well - very walkable and across the street from the park. It's way too pricey for what it is - better hotels charge less.

The hotel is attractive, clean with a reputable bar and excellent restaurant. The rooms are spacious and the location is very desirable.
- 1/5
Underwhelming stay rooms are so small bare and empty for the amount of money they charged per night which is unbelievable compared to what you actually get. If you get a corner room it’s like a prison cell small windows you can’t even see out of.
- 1/5
This was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. As an avid traveler who’s stayed in numerous five-star hotels around the world, this place barely deserves a single star. The hotel is grossly overpriced, with terrible staff, non-functioning elevators, poor-quality food, and abysmal service. It was such a waste—not of money, but of the experience itself. I came here hoping for a relaxing weekend getaway, but it fell far short of even basic expectations.
- 3/5
For the price I just cannot accept that you don’t get an in room coffee machine. They offer free coffee in lobby up to 10:30am, but I hate having to trek down first thing in the morning. Hat to also call to get shower gel as there were no extras in the room. Check in took 15 mins. Room was ok for the price. Service was good.
- 4.5/5
Location and service amazing A coffee machine should be automatically supplied in the room. Restaurant too dark Lobby should have carpets and pictures to be cozier.

Location only. Nothing else. Staff rude and disrespectful. Hotel furniture is FULLY depreciated. Rooms are tiny and furniture is overused. Took me more than three hours to get my keys especially after a 14hr flight. On top of that they chased me to checkout at 11am sharp (i checked out at 11:20am). Elevators are also horrible and takes forever to get on one.

Elevators are terrible. Service is terrible. No lounge access as it is always booked abd packed. No one to help you in or out with your bags. Self service all the way. It also took 2 HOURS to check in even though i arrived at 4pm. Hotel is old and furniture is way over-used. Never again.

I have been to the hotel many times / hotel is not very busy in August /I asked for a late check out until 5 pm and indicated to pay part of the rate - the answer was I need to pay full room rate - my last time at this hotel - a Marriott
- 5/5
They give a credit every night at the lobby bar or spa fo offset the cost of the daily fee which is really nice. Will definitely stay there when I’m in NYC next time.
- 5/5
All around very nice
- 5/5
I liked the convenience to attractions in the South Manhattan area. Also, the parking garage was close by as well as fast food options.
- 4/5
Very small rooms for very large price
- 5/5
Amazing location and fantastic service. You might see some famous faces—the Atlanta Hawks were also staying there.
- 5/5
cool space and great location
- 2/5
horrible bar scene. not high end. incredibly over priced
- 5/5
Well appointed rooms. Very clean and the service was wonderful. I plan on staying at the Edition again the next trip to NYC!
- 5/5
Beautiful space, friendly staff, excellent location across from the park!
- 3/5
Very poor welcome front desk was terrible the mirrors were not clean when I was paying he was short and dry in his words I wouldnt recommend this place anymore quality decreased immensely
- 5/5
Spotlessly clean , staff were all amazing, amazing location, good restaurant
- 5/5
Good location, quite, very convenient. Good staff and service
- 2/5
For the price not worth the stay
- 4/5
Few stains and general wear and tear that made it feel slightly older. Location is fantastic, and would definitely stay again. I did have to seek out a gym pass at a local gym however as the hotels one is very poor. No windows and tiny. Would have expected a better fitness facility.
- 5/5
Great from start to finish. Great and friendly reception!
- 1/5
Restaurant staff was lazy and rude. The restaurant wasn’t busy, we ordered drinks, 20 minutes later- no drinks. I found a server asked what was going on, they hadn’t even started to make our drinks and they weren’t making other drinks! That is one example of a litany of problems that took place there. If you want two star- go there.
- 4/5
The location was very convenient.
- 5/5
All was great
- 5/5
A relaxed 5 star hotel where the staff are there if you want them or not if you don’t. Cool bar which is very much a place to be seen (but the team never forget the hotel guests). Our suite was large, bright and modern with all the things you need (maybe a nespresso would have been nice), staff were first class, location is brilliant in between 2 underground stations.
- 3/5
Mediocre at best and subpar for spending upwards of $1k/night. Won’t recommend it and will not return
- 5/5
Great place to stay, convenient to everything and LOVED the smell of the hotel…. Would stay again
- 5/5
Incredible hotel. Everything was delightful! Will be back for sure.
- 5/5
Everything about this
- 5/5
All the staff were super friendly
- 5/5
Excellent location and bar area. And the staff was outstanding.
- 5/5
Great location, walking distance to excellent restaurants, easy access to public transportation (subway lines).
- 5/5
Everything was so amazing! So clean and beautifully designed. Just don’t order breakfast room service!!
- 4/5
I was charged twice for property fee of $70. By hotel and expedia and both didnt want to take responsibility for it. Expedia finally refunded
- 5/5
Due til illness we had to cancel our 2nd night which the hotel were very flexible about and cancelled any charges for the 2nd night
- 4/5
We just had bad luck with Room 503 The day We arrived we reported a air leakage on one of our windows, you could hear the air coming in. We were told it was fixed...by the second night the howling sound was unbearable.
- 3/5
poor image quality on the tv.
- 3/5
Great location and customer service was excellent. The food and service at the Clocktower was also top notch. But for the price and the newly imposed "Destination Fee," the accommodations were pretty basic. I don't know why a hotelier would buy such cheap looking white furnishings that wear so badly and the rooms have zero character or true sense of comfort. I will continue to stay with Firmdale hotels and visit this property for dinner.
- 3/5
My daughter’s room was ready,I needed to wait an additional 1h My booking was 2 deluxe king room’s,by check in I’m told 1000$ deposit for each room, next day I see a charge on my credit card of 1000$ and 1400$ When asked at reception what the 1400$ stands for I got 5 explanations!!Plus I asked how it’s possible that our breakfast same day was charge to my Card we’re I signed it to my room Last explanation was by swiping my card it didn’t go true the first time...Really The minimum requirement should be to notify your costumers in advance before you over charge any Your Lobby bar I’d dirty,at the bar side you have a wall that’s the full 7 day’s of my stay had stains from a drink I live next to Edition in Bodrum,Turkey during summer month’s and this Hotel offers great service,Luxury and very clean The New York Edition is below your standards Regards Mrs.Princen-Schoefs
- 5/5
Enjoyed a lovely weekend at the New York Edition! The hotel is minimalistic, clean and comfortable. When you walk inside not only does it smell great but the staff members greet you and ensure you feel welcomed. Highly recommend staying here as it is a great location, the service is excellent and the rooms are clean. This is now our go to hotel in NYC.
- 5/5
The service and attention to detailed was amazing. We celebrated my birthday at the hotel and they wen above and beyond to make it so special. Would highly recommend staying at the hotel and would not think twice about staying here again!
- 5/5
Gorgeous hotel with the friendliest staff. Prime location, centralized and minutes to everything. Will be staying there from now on for my nyc trips.
- 5/5
My wife and I were in town to celebrate our 33rd anniversary. Broadway show, dinner at Rezdôra, topped off by a wonderful stay at The New York EDITION. The staff led by the Front Office Manager Suela and Guest Relations Manager Gianpaolo took amazing care of us. They upgraded us to an awesome room with views East, south and west! And delivered a yummy chocolate/fresh fruit cake to our room. Very thoughtful. Both of the hotel bars are devine. I have previously eaten at the restaurant which is also top notch. Beautiful property with superb service. Even if we did not get this special anniversary treatment, I would still be rating this property and service five stars. Thank you!
- 3/5
Great location, hated the custom Edition hotel scent used in n the lobby and all toiletries provided. It’s too potent.
- 3/5
nothing but noise in our room. up all night. waited for an hour for pillow room never defeathered. not a great experience at all
- 5/5
The most friendly staff and absolutely perfect location!
- 1/5
I did not stay at the hotel. This trip was canceled. Why was I still charged. I need Expedia to reach out to the hotel and have this charge refunded.
- 5/5
Loved the hotel, great location, quiet, friendly staff, my only disappointment is that none of the rooms have bathtubs
- 5/5
Very pleasant environs with extra helpful staff. Nice location and great views. It’s my new place to stay in the City.
- 4/5
The hotel was nice; clean contemporary look. Service was good at the bar, but poor at the front desk. They wouldn't let my wife check in, with her ID, without a confirmation number. I was alittle surprised by this. Rooms were nice as well.
- 4/5
Excellent location in middle of Manhattan. This is modern, clean hotel but the regular room is very small even after it was upgraded. There are bigger rooms if you pay more ask for corner room with great view of the city. Hotel has one restaurant but there are many eating places around the hotel. Across the park, which is in the front of the hotel, has an Italian eatery with several restaurants and all kinds of pasta and desserts for sale as well. Entrance is very small but lobby has good bar area.
- 5/5
Location and service were excellent. The ty is in great condition
- 1/5
Friend had a gift sent over and was never delivered to our room as promised for our special anniversary wknd. Ruined the entire gift.
- 5/5
Loved all of it! smelled amazing
- 1/5
The front desk service was very poor and confrontational not what a guest would expect fromnthisbstandard of hotel.
- 4/5
The lobby and bar area was very cold because the outside doors didn’t always close, so the cold wind blew in. Otherwise I would recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
Wonderful customer service and good location. Friendly and efficient staff.
- 5/5
We had a great time, everyone was very accommodating and friendly!
- 5/5
The bathroom is quite large for a hotel in NYC. The ceilings in the room are quite high, which gives the room a larger feel. I was pleasantly surprised to see a small couch and coffee table in the room as well. Overall, an excellent room for the price.
- 5/5
Impeccable service as usual. Property might start to need a little refreshment soon.
- 5/5
The rooms were great. The bed and linen were soft. Very friendly staff. I would absolutely come back to this hotel.
- 3/5
Not worth the price. Nothing truly special about the hotel for the cost.
- 5/5
A five star property in every aspect. In particular the bellmen and concierge.
- 4/5
Great location. Music in bar at night too loud. Here at hotel apart from that.
- 5/5
Super chic but cosy and I could live in the suite!
- 5/5
Maddie you made our holiday and I'm sure The Edition in London will be missing you.
- 2/5
We usually stay at The Dominick, Baccarat, Langham or Mandarin Oriental but we decided to try a different hotel and we picked the Edition. When we arrived at the hotel in the evening, the first thing we have noticed was that nobody offered to help us with our bags and in addition to that they told us that our room was not ready “yet”?! As we were rushing for dinner, they offered us a tiny little room to change clothes and also offered an upgrade from our loft suite for the inconvenience. When we came back late at night we found out that there is no upgrade and moreover they didn’t even take our bags to the suite as promised. In addition to the experience with our check-in we thought that the elevators didn’t have enough capacity and speed for 42 floors, the suite seemed smaller than on the pictures, no automated blackout shades, the AC in the room didn’t work correctly and was loud, the shower handle in our bathroom was broken and was leaking, the safe needed maintenance and there were some stains on the sofas. After I called and mentioned issues with the shower and the safe they fixed it but on the other hand paying $1,300+ a night I think that everything should already be in order. As for design- the lobby area was very plain, the restaurant wasn’t very good either and the staff wasn’t consistent. They did end up upgrading us for the last night and seemed nicer and more helpful, which we appreciated after our experience, but despite that we will most likely not return back.
- 5/5
Where to start ... without question one of my fave hotels ever and I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels all over the world. It’s beautiful inside and out and so are the staff 😊 first time visit for 5 nights and loved every second. These guys get the big stuff and the little stuff spot on. Location is awesome, room size perfect, lovely and modern and delicious food and cocktails at your fingertips. Will be staying here now every time I’m in NYC which I hope is very very soon. Thanks New York Edition 🙏 can’t wait to try some of your other hotels now too!!! PS saw a lot of comments prior to booking about the elevators but I had no issues at all.
- 5/5
Loved the room, only thing we would change were that the pillows were not very comfortable.
- 5/5
Best hotel in NYC for location, convenience, beautifully appointed room, view, comfort and service. Definitely recommend and will stay again.
- 3/5
Room much smaller then expected , but great location.
- 5/5
Great location close the middle of manhattan island. Easy to go anywhere with 15 minutes from this hotel. Great service and staff! The clocktower restaurant was also a great dinning experience.
- 2/5
My biggest issue is with hotel.com who’s photos made it appear much nicer than the room was. Are the price I paid I could have had a suite at the 1 hotel or elsewhere and I’m annoyed because I did not get value for money.
- 5/5
Location is excellent. The staffs are very friendly.

- 5/5
This is a hotel staff that aims to please...and they succeeded! No detail was overlooked. No ask was too big. Will definitely return.
- 4/5
all around excellent, need to improve the AC system particularly in the common areas.
- 5/5
It is the best hotel I have ever stayed in !
- 4/5
Walking distance to Madison district, near the Flatiron Building .
- 5/5
A very nice hotel near all of the action. Very clean, with recent updates. Rooms are a bit on the small side.
- 4/5
Very nice hotel with great friendly staff
- 5/5
Wonderful location, small but beautiful rooms, very comfortable beds, nice views. The lobby bar is very chic but remains welcoming with great cocktail service. I’d definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel and room, so clean. Views from the corner room gave 180 from the Hudson to the East River. Attention to detail made for an incredible visit.
- 5/5
This is are second time at the hotel. We think the hotel is great. The rooms are lovely and spacious. The location is not in the tourist area, so if you are looking for a place to stay in this area it is the best.
- 4/5
Hotel is nice but greatly overpriced. Rooms are dark. Service is stark. Do not even have coffee in the room so you must go downstairs and spend $11.50 for 2 drip coffees. No one to help with bags unless you ask them.
- 5/5
The entire hotel is modern and spacious, everything is really well designed. We thoroughly enjoyed our room. We also can recommend the hotel for great cocktails and whiskey. Staff are friendly, helpful and professional. Will try to get this property again on my next stay in NYC.
- 3/5
As a Marriott Gold Member, I would definitely not rate this hotel as the high end Marriott brand it purports to be. The service was non-existent from check in until check out and the overall feel of the building and rooms made me think I was staying at someone’s apartment rather than a “nice” hotel. The only thing going for this place is the lobby lounge, which was stylishly decorated. After 4 nights I canceled the remainder of my reservation and moved across to the other side of Madison Square Park to The Nomad because it actually feels like a nice hotel rather than someone’s apartment.
- 5/5
I would recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
My favorite hotel!
- 5/5
Excellent location and neighborhood. Great view of Madison Square Park and Flatiron Building. Close to Eataly and Upland.
- 4/5
Elevators system is weird. Lobby bar is very active and very, very loud. Second floor bar closes too early. I'd stay again. I'd just drink in the neighborhood, not the hotel.
- 5/5
The room was very clean and comfy, perhaps a little small. Staff was great.
- 4/5
Lovely staff. Amazing fragrance program. Beds not the most comfortable. Sheets not the softest. Modern finishes show wear and traffic very easily. Early signs of deterioration.
- 5/5
Lobby area can be very loud. Rooms are lovely and very comfortable.
- 5/5
We have stayed at the hotel many times and it’s always wonderful!! Great location and staff!!
- 2/5
Trendy hip hotel which will try to sell you minimalism for luxury. Bad service at a price of a 5 star hotel. Never returning.
- 5/5
Stay was amazing! Gym was great, bar was fun, food was delicious, beds were comfy & amenities in room was awesome! definitely coming back!
