    When the charge for a 1 night stay hit my credit card, it was $50 higher than I expected, so I went to the front desk to inquire about that. I was told that it was an incidental fee that would be refunded when we checked out. When we checked out the next day, there was a $5 fee for parking. When you are paying $192 to spend the night, you shouldn't have to pay an additional $5/day parking fee. It is not that $5 is a high fee. It is the principle of the matter. Hotels shouldn't charge fees that are not fully disclosed at the time of booking. There shouldn't be a fee to park your car overnight. What additional fee will they charge next? I will probably look elsewhere for a place to stay in the future.

    The property needs some TLC. Example in the room we stayed in the carpet is lifting up where the floor meets the carpet. The hallway on the 1st floor needed cleaning up some. The outside rug is filthy dirty and some lights are out outside of the property and in the hotel room. 112

    The location worked well for us. The facility was nice. The bathroom was a good size and well laid out. The room was not clean when we arrived.     This hotel needs a lot of work and upgrades. The room had a musky smell, carpet was not fully vacuumed. It had a kitchenette with only 1 fork, no sponge or soap for washing dishes. 2 small garbages for a family of 4 for 2 nights does not suffice. The lotion by the sink was falling off the wall. I would not stay here again. Sad to see this type of hotel with the Hampton name since we usually enjoy our stays and just left 2 other Hilton affiliates that were much better for the same/less price, Home Suites.

    Check in staff, fast, courteous, well groomed. Lobby, well appointed, with many brochures of things to do in area. Nice fireplace. Breakest was great. Lots of choices and staff kept everything stocked.also very clean. Elevator, clean. Room well appointed nice big screen tv, beds very comfy, bathroom extremely clean wonderful shower and the big towels. Refridge was nice and cold. Carpet clean. Close to restaurants and shopping.

    Got to my room and bathroom had not been cleaned. I was supposed to be a king suite with a sofa bed and kitchen and was not. Only one elevator was working in the entire building. Through everything the staff were kind and very apologetic. I was offered a refund for my stay.

    Everything was perfect! The hotel on the outside looked new. Inside was very nice and clean. The staffs were AMAZINGLY nice, kind, sweet, helpful and courteous. Our room, It sure did meet my expectations. It was clean, nice, smelt good and not like musky. Floors were clean, refrigerator was clean, bathroom was cleaned, bedroom was clean and bed was made nicely. My kids loved how the TV’s had my name on it 😁 It all worked out for the weekend. I will definitely be coming back here everytime we visit my nephew. Thank you Staffs at Hampton Inn & Suites!!!

    We stayed while attending a soccer tournament in Williamsburg. The location and price was perfect, an affordable suite with kitchenette right off the highway. Dollar Tree, Subway and other shops are literally right across the parking lot and a very convenient walk. We would stay again!

    I liked everything about this hotel except for the fact that I had a dog on my floor barking for 2+ hours in the morning and there was nothing the hotel could do about it. They are a pet friendly hotel which is fine but in this case that a dog has separation anxiety, there is nothing they can do. Sleeping in on a Sunday was not an option.

    Check-in went well, lobby was decent but: the bedroom phone did not work, the bathroom exhaust fan did not work, the coffee pot leaked AND my sleep was broken constantly at night due to loud noises that, I assume, was coming from the pipes. Each time I fell asleep, I was awakened by that horrible noise!!! What started out okay turned out horribly!! Very tired and frustrated due to constant interrupted sleep!!!!

    Customer service was outstanding, all employees were helpful and friendly. There was a very nice continental breakfast included. Unfortunately the waffle makers were not working but all the other food was tasty and warm except for the sausage patties. The room was clean and the shower had great pressure with plenty of hot water. It was handy have a good sized refrigerator.

    It was an amazing stay hotel is very modern, clean and excellent FREE breakfast and coffee with a variety of flavors. The suite we had was really clean and good supply of towels and kitchen very nice. The location is everything restaurants within walking distance and a decent mall right across the street. We loved it and will definitely return and also the Front Desk Staff and Management were super nice!!

    We came down for a concert and we picked this hotel, I LOVED it. The young woman who checked me in was AMAZING. She had a different name but she was friendly/courteous/helpful. The room was beautiful and comfortable. My one concern was the shower and how the unit looked like it was about to come out the wall. The water flow was hot. The bed was Soo comfortable. I look forward to coming back there again soon I would love to get the same room of possible. KUDOS 👍🔥

    I left my birthday outfit there by a mistake and the room service stole it!! And claim to say she didn’t see it! Even though they paid me for the outfit… but still I will never find that outfit again for it was a one of the kind outfit!! I will never stay there again!!     Our stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites Newport News was average. The hotel has a cheap perfume added with mold smell, and the carpets in the hallways are filthy and worn. The towels in the rooms are paper-thin and scratchy. The staff was nice and the receptionist did help us get a room on the second floor as opposed to the first floor. Overall, not a hotel I would choose to stay in again, and certainly not worth the cost.

    This was an average hotel for the aging Hamptons. The person at check in was very friendly but didn’t see anyone else. Beds were very comfortable but the bathroom floor felt a little sticky. The location is nice being tucked away from the main road. There is evidence that the property needs some maintenance, however.

    After checking in on June 27th, at 3:00 am June 28th, I was awakened by running water that covered half of the carpet in the bedroom and half of the carpet in the living room. I was moved from suite #203 to non-suite #426. I spent the rest of the morning and the night of June 28th in room #426. I moved back into suite #203 at 9:00 am June 29th. At 4:00 am June 30th, I noticed the room was getting warmer, I set the thermostat to 70 degrees, however when I woke up at 6:00 am, it was 73 degrees in the room. At 7:30 am, I got my belongings and checked out and informed the front desk of the room temperature.

    I canceled a reservation at another hotel due to a broken elevator. I went to Hotels.com to find another and booked a reservation at the Hampton Inn and proceeded there. 20 minutes later i received a call from the Hampton In stating they had no more rooms.

    This is my second time staying at this hotel. It's a great space with comfortable beds close to so many things to do. The only downside this time is that my bathroom smelled like cigarette smoke the first night there. After that, it was good.

    This was a trip of encouragement to surprise a friend of 40 plus years. My amenities at Hampton Inn was outstanding. My train arrival was way off because I missed a scheduled departure. WhenI arrived several hours past check in there weee re no hassles and check in went quite smoothly

    The staff here are the nicest I have ever encountered. they were all genuinely friendly and helpful. The breakfast bar was great and endless! And they were there immediately to help when I locked myself out of my room. Guess I wasn't the first to ever do that! Highly recommend staying here.

    We booked two rooms for a family trip and got there and the rooms weren’t even cleaned and staff was rude. The hotel was under renovations at the time and none of the amenities were open with the exception of the pool

    I think for the money I should have got more for my buck, normally the Hampton Inns that I stay is better. This was definitely okay for one night. The room was very convenient to shopping area and restaurants. Staff was great.!! They also have complimentary breakfast which was good.

    Our room/suite was clean and well laid out. The problem was that the hotel was in the middle of major renovations. Paper and tape on floors--had to be careful not to trip. Hall to only elevator was completely dark at times, had to feel along the wall for it. No warning before we got thrre. Breakfast was very poor quality

    Taking into consideration that the hotel is being renovated and your staff was under additional pressure each and every staff member did an amazing job. They were cordial and friendly and the three nights that we were there we were very comfortable. We enjoyed the snacks that were provided and the safe trip bag when we left. We have stayed at other Hampton Inns but this one outdid themselves. Because we have family in the area we expect to be frequenting this hotel in the future Thanks again. Keep up the outstanding work

    The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was plain and adequate (no extras or special anything) for our one night stay which is about what I expected. However there were obvious repairs to the walls and room that made it appear not well maintained. I think the biggest complaint would be the uncomfortable bed. My husband and I both had a terrible night's sleep and woke up sore.
