Even though we had a non'smoking handcap room on the first floor that was nice and clean we still could smell cigarette smoke. It was very strong in the bathroom. That being said I would stay again but next time I will bring a candle.

This is a basic hotel, no frills. But it is clean, comfortable and a super value for the area. Staff is friendly and helpful and there was someone on the grounds picking up trash, watering plants on site, always around. The beds were a little stiff, however I had the best sleep. The shower head had good pressure and it was clean. Lots of good restaurants/ food and stores nearby. Location was great, close to the beach and the naval station. It only offered coffee in the morning, but for the value it really didn't matter. The beds were a little firm for my liking, but definitely not the hotels fault.

The location is great. This is a beautiful area. The price is the best in town. The cleaning staff is really kind. The owner has a beautiful garden there also. This is honestly one of the best places to stay in town. I say this as a person whose family needs a place to stay and isn't looking for luxury in the hotel but in the area. Be sure to take a walk across the bridge to the marina.

Used Uber to get there. Close to 5he huge navel base. Lower economic neighborhood but felt safe. Without my own transportation, no shopping to speak of: Food Lion, Dollar General, and alike. Found great little Thai restaurant one block over.

This is a great hidden little gem. Short sweet and to the point clean and welcoming. This was a great experience for me and I’d be using this property again without a question. Easy check in, quiet, and truly I did not feel unsafe at all while staying there truly a hidden gem

I drove from South Carolina to this Hotel for a Event at a nearby . The Lady who helped me was not friendly and actually a bit rude. They saw good ratings or reviews, but these ppl are lying this place sucks. Signs In the rooms says NO SMOKING or there will be a charge of $100 or $150 but it's obvious someone has been smoking because there were burn holes in both beds Sheets and Comforters. Two remotes couldn't control the volume, I guess the room next door couldn't turn theirs down either because we could hear it over our TV . The water in the shower was To hot so be careful and they need a new shower head because water was going everywhere. The room was overpriced and by the looks of things they can have given us their best room because there were only a few guests even staying there. If it would not have been to late , I honestly would for picked a entirely different hotel. If you're on a tight budget or just looking for anywhere to lay your head , then this is the place for you.

The rooms are not bad. AC, Microwave, TV, fridge, and Lights were working just fine. The problem lies in neglecting shower maintenance. In room 211, the bathtub faucet never reaches the end, so the water will be lukewarm at best. The diverter valve you pull up from the spout to get a shower doesn't work well, so most of the water never reaches the shower head and just spills; I had to use my hand like a caveman to get water on my body. They know these issues; they just chose not to spend the money to fix them.

This hotel was gross. They didn't change the sheets, blankets or pillow coverings from the person/people who stayed in the room before us. All the bedding smelled like bad body oder. My wife asked the person at the front desk for an extra towel (they only gave us two small towels) and the front desk person gave her attitude and didn't want to give her an extra towel. The bed was hard as a rock. We thought we were sleeping on a box spring. Stay away!! This hotel is horrible. On top of it all, we cut or stay short, they still haven't refunded the unused nights and instead charged us for an extra night. We were supposed to stay three nights, we only stayed one night, and they charged us for four nights.

I didn't like the fact that there was an unidentifiable stain in the bathtub that turned us off to even taking a shower. Good thing we live less than two hrs away and could shower when we got homw. But if thats not your situation. That may a big turn off for you.

I had a good stay. Nothing fancy, but everything you need. Plenty of parking and well lit. A little noisy but I'm sure the 2nd floor is much more quiet. My room was directly behind the office, so I was ok with a little noise because I felt safe that close to the attendant. I would stay again.

Spectacular stay for a budget hotel! Very clean, very comfy. A coffee maker would have been nice, but for this price it's not a big deal. Well done!

This is my second time staying here. The first time was fine with no issues. This time the room wasn't good. There was rust on a lot of items and it had several maintenance issues. I regretted staying here this time.

We reserved a nn-smoking room, well I dont think they have any nonsmoking rooms. our room smelled so strong of weed. they staff was kind enough to RE-SPRAY the room, which made the room smell worse. We asked for some coffee grounds with filters and we laid some around the room. Staff looked at me like I was crazy, but it really works, By the time we came back from dinner the weed smell was better, and our room smelled like a coofee shop instead of a hooka house. The other issues were the bed linen had long hair everywhere. and there was sand in between the sheets? This lenen had not been changed! Pillow cses looked ok. houseskeeping was kind enough to bring us fresh linen. Hotel was loud. Never Again!

First thing when I got into the room and sat down on the most uncomfortable bed, a roach came out from behind the tv. Sore back and bugs, yuck.

Sheets were dirty when arrived and booked a room with two queen beds but was more like a double.

The room was clean. The bed is very close to the floor and very uncomfortable, like a box covered with a sheet. There is some sort of compressor or something that is very very load. Turns on and off all night long. It was right outside our room. When we got there had to use the restroom, was told there are none, onle in the rooms. Needs to be updated for sure. Tv works sometimes. Would not go back.

I was looking for a hotel, last minute, that was affordable yet decent. This was it! Spacious room, very clean and felt safe as a solo traveler. Will definitely be back.

Overall stay is great the staff is good only a few guys speaks english but their friendly. The room is okay overall however there is stains in 2 of the pillows cases, and shower curtain, sink has hair from previous guests and 1 of the towels has blood stains in it. Its close to a road and noisy so if your a light sleeper maybe getting a room in the back of hotel is less noisy. They need to do a better job spotting stains on towels, and beddings stuff and replacing it with a new one and this hotel will be great. No breakfast only coffee! The area seems safe I got back in my room late in the evenings and I didn't feel threatened but a few homeless walks around day and night.

It was a great hotel experience. I love the flooring they have on the hotel rooms. We only stayed 1 night, but it was restful.

It was ok, nothing to write home about. Could use a deep clean occasionally, some dirty spots like under door knobs and behind the faucet, but generally clean everywhere else. Mattresses felt like a pillow-top box spring but did the job for a few nights. Overall, met the expectations for the cost of the area. Not a five star hotel but not a dump, just a middle of the road place to lay your head.

The property was not too far from beaches, places to eat and some local shopping. Although my room was ok for the stay the amenities are basic so don't expect too much. You will be about 20-30 mins from everything you can do nearby. You can also venture out to neighboring cities for more excursion and activities depending on your lifestyle. The beaches are relatively close but next time I'm staying on the Bayside no matter the cost just for the convenience. Overall it's still a nice getaway!!

Front desk not helpful. Limited towels. Bedding terrible. Double charged had to go dispute charge at bank. Terrible experience.

The receptionist was welcoming, too. I, however, will suggest that the steps to the upper floor needs to be clean thoroughly.

needed a place to stay for a quick weekend trip. was 5 min from the base there. a 15/20 min walk to the beach. was clean. wasn’t expecting anything exceptional and was just that.

My daughter woke up with bites on her arm, leg and back

I made reservations and called to inquire about my reservations and they told me that it was all correct and it'll be ready once o get there. Once i arrived, it was nothing that was discussed over the phone my room that i reserved was taking . I had to get another room that was vacant that was a non smoking. I know i arrived early yet.i had to pay a early fee of 30 in cash whick was weird . Yet after my 8hrs drive i was too tired to argue so i paid and got the other room . This stay was horrible. Bed was super hard, towels and wash rags was old hard and not clean. Tv was dark as if someone changed the setting and i couldn't fix it.

We stayed in room 124, wife said there was a smell/odor of sewage coming from the room next door through the door between rooms, people were gathered outside of our room talking while we were trying to sleep

Although the rooms were clean it definitely not worth what we paid per night. The headboards in our room creaked with any movement. The beds were so very uncomfortable and hard, it would have been better to sleep on the floor. The sheets were clean but the blanket and beadspread were thin.

Outside was a little rough, the neighborhood and the hotel. The rooms were pleasantly updated and pretty clean. The beds, on the other hand, were rock hard. Our overall experience was fine. Price was right.

When I was taking my stuff to the car, they had already checked me out do that I could not use the key to get back into the room to get the rest of stuff. I did get it but they need to wait until I go to the front desk and turn in the key card before deactivating.

There was plastic left on the windows from painting and didn’t appear recent, however, I do appreciate their efforts to improve the exterior of the building. There was a red/brown stain on the bottom bedsheet cover. We were really shocked at how hard the beds were, they really need to put some kind of cover on those. I think anyone would agree. The room was in good shape except The area is supposedly not safe, cannot confirm. For over $150 I would expect a little more, from the beds if nothing else. Overall a solid 2 star. We only stayed here because it was close to the bridge.

Wow. Do not judge by the exterior. Outside needs a facelift, but the rooms are completely upgraded and remodeled. Very clean, and location was great. Staff was very friendly.

Me and my family stayed this past weekend . The hotel is very clean but I was discusted when walking into the bathroom and the toilet was not clean with a towel on the floor. I was not too happy about that. The front desk woman is really nice and helpful.

Would have given a higher rating but when you book a king size bed you expect more than three small half pillows that really only total one and half whole pillows. I had to go buy some so my wife and I could sleep comfortably. The staff was nice and friendly.

The check in staff was so kind! The process was smooth. My room was tidy and clean. The main drawback for me was that the bed felt like bricks. I don't mind a firm mattress, but this was more than firm; it felt like foundation LOL! A good stay overall, though.

Bed was comfortable, room was clean, clerks were pleasant. Unfortunately some rowdy guests were making so much noise all night I couldn't sleep. I tried calling the desk to ask them to settle those people down, but my call never went through. Being an old guy I didn't want to get dressed and go confront those people myself Finally around 3:30 the noise subsided. We were checking out around 5:30 AM so I asked the night clerk why he never picked up on my calls and he said the phone never rang and he didn't hear the commotion. I asked how I could request a refund and he gave me the manager's name. I just got home from my trip and plan to call the manager right away.

Very disappointed with the lack of any breakfasts. When we asked about it they told us that they did not have breakfast until may, but that is not what the website says. Their response was that they were not to have breakfast by corporate office.. should be on the website then

It was just so far away from anything

The check in was confusing since they claim expedia made a mistake but the mistake was from their end. Once it was fixed then everything else went well. The room was clean and the bed was ok too. I would stay there again.

Front desk was friendly but understaffed, check in took a long time even though I was second in line. Room was physically cleaned well upon check-in but it had an odor of smoke even though it was "non-smoking" (odor probably was sucked in through HVAC system from other rooms or outside). Good to at least have some coffee available in the lobby in the morning but there wasn't breakfast. A decent place to lay your head at night at a relatively inexpensive price (for the heavily overpriced area) but not much more than that.

When I checked in we couldn’t get our door open. When we did, We found the room had not been cleaned. There was a decorative cover on the bottom bed frame and on both beds those covers had mold on them. The nightstand had mold on beds. We turned around to leave and got stuck in the room. I had to pull the door open with full force. Not fire safe. We checked out immediately. We didn’t spend a night AT ALL there.

if you need a place to just sleep, it was fine. but it is dated and a bit run down. the vending machines only had 1 option and the front desk people have zero personality. and the overnight clerk seemed jumpy and jittery- this isn’t the worst place i’ve stayed but you get what you pay for.

The women at the front desk was super friendly and helpful. I wish I remembered her name. Maybe Cherly? Room was clean and equipped with basic necessities. Convenient to so many restaurants and stores. My family enjoyed staying here while visiting the beach. Will stay here again for our next beach trip.
