    This convenience comes at a price. While the hotel is recently remodeled, I feel like corners were cut everywhere. The plumbing is in horrible shape. First room had a shower head that faced the ceiling and was not usable. Second room had it pointing at the wall making it inconvenient. Faucets had parts missing (both shower and sink). The shampoo holder kept falling off. The faucet required a lot of finesse to get it to the right temperature. Etc. The shower is super narrow (I’m on the smaller side and still had to stand under an angle to not have my elbows hitting the sides. TV didn’t work in one room (same one as the coping facing shower head) and remote barely worked in the second (on a constant delay trying to catch what I was getting to). I stay at this hotel 15-30 days a year due to the convenience, but nothing more. Wish there were more options in the area that would create completion and force them to keep up.

    The only thing this property is missing is a pool. Adding one would make the experience nearly perfect. Other than that, everything exceeded our expectations, and we highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable stay with exceptional customer service.

    The staff were all wonderful. We especially enjoyed the shuttle service. The drivers were great and full of good information on local spots. They took us to the Botanic Garden and to a local restaurant. Would definitely stay again.

    The property was beautiful! The rooms are extremely clean and well maintained. I love how absolutely silent the rooms are. I couldn’t hear any other guest or doors closing. The staff were all really friendly with any questions I had as well. My only complaint was the TV in the bedroom had a bad connection and I wasn’t able to pull up anything but the hotel’s amenities page. Which in the long run didn’t matter since I had my IPad. All in all it was a great place to stay!

    Location was the key for us. We went to the Chicago Botanic Garden daily on this trip! It was a very easy and short commute. The corner king room that we booked was perfect as my wife and I play cribbage like it is our job! The sitting area with the table is just right!! We never got in sync with the maid staff. I ended up in the lobby, picking up everything from coffee service to toilet paper.

    The stay itself was good , no actual complaints about the room or front desk staff at all.The room smelled a little funny at first but it went away that wasn’t really a concern.What DID concern me was how rude the bar staff was on Saturday night of our stay.We were from out of town and didn’t know the rules there and when they were told to us the bartender was extremely rude unprovoked we tried to deescalate the situation but as we were walking away he was screaming , cracking jokes with the other people at the bar taunting us calling us names. Wouldn’t recommend the bar but would recommend the hotel for a quick stay

    Room was clean, staff were great and friendly and helpful. Although I didn’t eat at the restaurant the food looked good and it was always busy. I would stay here again if travelling to Chicago. The train station was close by and using the shuttle service was easy and efficient to get to and from the station.

    Staff was great. I injured my thumb, went to the reception desk, and they found me an ice pack. Check in and check out were effortless. The hot buffet breakfast was very good as was the service. I was immediately seated each day and coffee was served right away. The rooms are clean and modern. Great shower and comfortable beds.

    If your not a member you pay for the breakfast,room didn’t have a microwave and if you like privacy in the bathroom not possible the door are sliding no locks and see through glass but other than that staff was friendly room was so great and they do have shuttle buses if needed.

    It looks and it was clean One of the elevators was beeping and calling and shaking nonstop, we stayed in room 305 the look didn't worked it was supposed be a junior suite and it felt like a rat cage on how small it felt, the guest on our hallway were loud and obnoxious, revving cars on the parking lot people yelling obscenities

    Breakfast was good and they had a wide variety of options I was supposed yo have a queen bed, but it was only a full size mattress. Also the garbage was not removed prior to my arrival and there was a dirty diaper in the garbage.

    We went into Chicago to go to Lightscape at the Chicago Botanic Gardens. The desk manager offered to drive us there and pick us up afterwards. He saved us $25 and made the experience so easy. We are so grateful for him 😊

    Loved my cozzy stay during a conference. All staff were very courteous and a big big thank you to Sal from the shuttle service who drove me around to beautiful close by spots and was such a kind genuine person. Places that are a must are the botanical garden, the home alone house or a cute movie theatre… which are just a few miles away… the train system is also a few miles and takes you to downtown Chicago if you’re up for a city experience. I also loved the taxi offered by hotel which was $37 to the airport which is cheaper than uber etc.

    Food service staff were very friendly and accommodating for coffee and tea in the morning, and the catering provided for our event was very tasty and nicely presented. The heating system in the room worked well, and the bed was comfortable. The shuttle service they offer will take you within a five mile radius and the driver was very nice and friendly. I was able to go to the local grocery store for food for the week, which was necessary as the only option at the hotel was very expensive. The hotel itself is very shabby and in need of attention - stained bathtub, ripped shower curtain that was falling apart, peeling wallpaper and ceiling, chipping tile, dirty carpet, damaged artwork on the walls. Took 10 minutes for hot water. The desk chair did not adjust and was too low for me, causing a lot of back pain trying to work. No other comfortable chair was provided for reading or relaxing. The room lighting was too low overall making it hard to work or read or see things. Workspace was limited; I requested a microwave, which was small and low power, but took up much of the desk space. The frig was very small and the coffee station was buried in a shelf system with no light so you can't see what you're doing. Threshold to the room has a huge marble cap so bags do not roll smoothly over it making it difficult to maneuver when you have multiple bags. Walls are thin and conversations in the next room can be heard, as in the actual words. Little things like these add up and make a difference. My reservation was messed up and they had the wrong number of nights. I arrived and they had no reservation for me for that night. I had to pull up my email to prove I booked it correctly and even then there was no apology or explanation or concession. Very rude front desk attendant who was very dismissive - kept saying, "well that's not what my system says." Told me I'd have to change rooms in the morning (which to the manager's credit I did not have to do). Said he'd look into what happened and call me, and then never did. The large room for the event I was attending was freezing cold for two of the three days we were in that room making it hard to concentrate. Why they could not adjust temperature correctly is a mystery. Overall, there is no reason to stay here again - breakfast is not included as it is at other hotels, there is no airport shuttle service, and the rooms are not very well maintained or comfortable.

    Hotel was okay. Would have ranked higher had we been able to get Internet service. WiFi connected no problem, but no Internet service. Also had to put up with loud music from nearby room at 4 am.     This was hands down the BEST hotel experience I have ever had, and have had in a long time. Immediately upon entering the hotel, the staff was so warm and welcoming. I was traveling alone, so this is especially important to feel safe and welcomed. However, even if I wasn’t traveling alone, I believe I would still feel that welcome and support, as this seems like a genuine priority for them. I got into town a couple of hours early before checkin, and they graciously found me a room to check in early. This was especially so helpful because I was so tired from my travels. The hotel is beautiful, and the room is aesthetically pleasing as well. The shopping and convenience stores are walkable, however their shuttle service will take you anywhere within a 5 mile radius. For the days I stayed, they would take me to the train station to travel into downtown Chicago, which was wonderful. There are even some attractions and activities close by that the shuttle is willing to take you to. Overall, it’s a wonderful hotel stay with wonderful staff. I’d recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great experience and good hotel stay.

    Our door lock broke and they said they fixed it and they didn’t and we had to sleep without a lock on the door. The room in bed were comfortable, but the bathroom was very small. It almost unusable. The water heat would constantly vary from hot to cold. I enjoyed the staff. They did try hard

    The shuttle to Ravinia is a huge plus. Highly recommend if you are attending a concert. I had checked in online prior to arrival so it easy to get the key card. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hallway carpet looked a little worn as did the bathroom door. All in all really good choice for us.

    Nice hotel very close to Winnetka where we went for a music festival. Very conveniently located close to the the highways. The staff was extremely helpful, on more than one occasion. Interesting art around the common areas.

    Was centrally located between Northwestern and the Chicago Botanic Gardens, both of which we were visiting. Hotel itself was fancier than I imagined with really cute decor. Some people in the hall were a bit noisy one evening and could hear people outside in the parking lot talking very clearly even though we were on the second floor. Didn't bother me much though. Pillows and bed were extremely comfy!

    So comfortable! Lovely room, the bathroom was stocked with plenty of towels, and toiletries. I will definitely be coming back. The shuttle to Ravinia was so convenient and the driver was so courteous! My weekend was excellent and it all started with my stay in renaissance Hotel! Thank you!

    Check out day door slams, Check in was to give us breakfast vouchers and didn’t give them to us until checkout morning. And we were in the “club level “ with no club lounge or club level amenities. Couldn’t cast to tv dispute paying for hotel WiFi! Huge disappointment. Will never stay here again.

    Took more time to check in because they couldn’t pull info over from Expedia, keys didn’t work had to go back down for new keys and was charged $50 for incidentals at check in. Which isn’t right. One of the elevators was broke and the others were sketchy. Not surprised one broke after we checked in. Was over charged for drinks was told the price was $8 checked the credit card invoice and it was $9.95. Place will scam you small or large.

    Wonderful ovation with access to highway with a fantastic breakfast. They permanently closed their indoor swimming pool which was my family’s favorite! Overall friendly and welcoming staff at the front desk to the restaurant to the club level!

    Room(s) are extremely dark and dont have enough light options. What light options they do have, all have separate switches and are not connected to a generic switch on a wall - so you have to walk to each individual light to turn them on/off

    The location is not near anything. You have to jump on the highway to get anywhere. But for us we just needed a nice room to stay the night in town for a work function. Check in was smooth, staff was nice, but when I asked if housekeeping could bring up a lint brush to our room or if there was a gift shop on site to buy one, house keeping did not provide stuff like that and there is no shop. Fine no big deal. The room was nice but the couch was not comfortable. The bed/mattress was comfortable but the noisy wood platform it was on made noise every time you moved. The bathroom was ok but the water pressure in the shower was weak and the toilet was low to the ground which was uncomfortable for me at 6'3. The biggest issue was how thin the walls were, you could people talking in other rooms plain as day. Same thing with hearing anything in the hallway. When you walked down the hallway you could hear what was going on in any room, not good if you hoping for some discrete adult time. So overall it wasn't the best but also not the worst just meh...

    Seemed like there are major housekeeping issues at this property. We had to wait in the lobby for over and hour for a clean room, and when we got to the room the body wash and conditioner bottles were completely empty. Also the lotion was previously used and was half empty. Also, the AC was incredibly loud and the toilet splashed water outside the bowl whenever it was flushed. There was an event going on at the hotel and loud music could be heard clearly up in our room until almost 11pm.

    I loved that they were able to secure a microwave for my room I really didn’t want to waste the food I had, but the ice maker was down my entire stay. There was a sign that read “sorry ice maker has an issue that needs to be fixed. People need ice . It’s clear there was no effort to fix it the entire weekend.

    We stayed here last year and it seems like the property needs to be renovated as well as the rooms/bathrooms. Not sure if we were on an older side or not but the carpet is worn, dated and dirty. We took advantage of the breakfast buffet which was pretty decent. However, the service was poor.

    The bathrooms have a sliding door with a gap between the walls so if you’re not personally interested in having others live in that existence with you, this isn’t it. So much air flow, I was surprised the paint was peeling in the shower. Even the bathrooms in the lobby had questionable design choices. The free Book of Mormon and bible provided a nice re-up on rolling papers though. Since neither is worth reading.

    Everything was perfectly adequate, and many parts of the facility where above average, thus the 4 stars instead of 3. Everything worked. Nothing was gross. The bed was very comfortable with plenty of pillows. There were sufficient in-room supplies for coffee, clothes hanging and ironing, and modern TV watching. The doors on the closet were classy. There was no bathtub, but the shower was good. The halls and elevators where well used but not yet in need of replacement. The lobby was noisy, with two wedding parties, but the 7th floor was quiet, except for when the partiers passed by on their way to bed.

    The restaurant hostess and servers were friendly, courteous, and helpful. Food was good. The room design lacked a few things: no towel racks, odd lighting, a floor-length mirror facing sideways that was hard to access, and frosted glass door to bathrm, directly facing toilet -- not very private!
