Bay Bridge Inn

The manager was helpful in calling for a taxi for my need to go to and return from the hospital for a medical procedure at the nearby hospital. He answered all my questions and acceded to my requests. Although the room was basic, but with fridge and microwave, it was clean and comfortable and had all I needed. The shower worked well. The light in the room was superb. The location was quiet. It was helpful that there was an obvious recycling bin for things I wanted to recycle. I recommend this place. I took my own food since I was staying for two days and was supposed to rest. There was plenty of parking.

Horrible service from the staff i had a friend coming over to pick me up to go to a party he was looking for my room and they told him to leave or they were honna call security they called me to the room i confirmed he was coming with and they told me if he was in my room i had to leave too using F*** so ofcourse i left and i had booked for 2 nights and i was there just for 4 hours.

Stay here regularly - Staff is ALWAYS amazing. Rooms - ALWAYS clean. Convenient to Bart - anywhere you want to go. So easy. And the rates, can’t beat it. Note: my favorite restaurant within walking distance is Co Nam (Vietnamese) - for morning coffee and a bagel, Wise Sons - also walking distance. For price, convenience. Best value.

This hotel is a great value. Nothing fancy, by clean and comfortable. I have stayed there several times.

The staff and room were great. The water pressure wasn’t the greatest. Great price and was close to the hospital where we needed.

Staff were kind and helpful, and the stay was overall good. The heater seemed to need a filter change, and I got bad allergies during my stay, which became worse every time I turned on the heater. The room also felt dusty. The shampoo didn't really clean my hair.

Bay Bridge Inn was a nice , well kept place. Staff were very friendly. Very close to the local Kaiser Hospital I was visiting. Very reasonable pricing for a basic room.

I arrived at night and greeted by an aggressive male, making sure I was going to be only person staying in the room. Even after I explained that my nephew and niece were just carrying my bags for me after picking me up from the airport. The next morning was a lot better, he seemed like a different person. He got even nicer when I asked about a room for my adult son, as I wanted him close by. I had no other issues with my stay.

Property was well located for easy access, and staff was helpful and present. Room was clean and functional. The street outside was noisy, was I barely heard when I was in the room, which was located right on the street. The area has sidewalks and crosswalks, but it's sometimes quite a distance to most places on foot . Bart, however is pretty handy (10-15 minutes on foot).

Wonderful place

Staying in Berkeley during Univ. Cal dorm move in week wasn't possible so I chose this motel in Oakland. Basically I needed a place to sleep and nothing more for 4 nights. The Bay Bridge met my needs fairly well with one exception. Very basic room in decent condition. Grounds were neat and staff was very friendly. Location actually wasn't too bad--a straight shot on MLK Jr to downtown Berkeley. The neighborhood felt kind of sketchy but I didn't have any issues. So my only really complaint was the lack of water in the shower. Enough to get the job done but not much more.

Nice Place

Well maintained property, clean and attractive. Good quality furnishings. The large mini frig was a plus. HVAC worked well. Renovated bathroom was well done. Plenty of electrical outlets. Fairly quiet in area towards the back of the property. Lots of off street parking. Friendly and helpful front desk staff. The only item that prevented this review from having more 5 stars is that the water pressure for the shower was very low. Property manager should correct this. Otherwise it is a good value.

Very good basic Motel. Clean, excellent firm king bed, very friendly and knowledgeable staff. A little noisy from the second floor.

Staff was very friendly. I liked that they had free parking and cameras monitoring the lot. It was easy to find and close to the highway, making it easy to come and go. The reason I gave it three stars was because I was not given the wifi password (nor did I ask) and the water pressure in the shower was poor. Otherwise it was a pleasant motel to stay at.

The man at the front desk was very nice, quick and attentive. I didn't see or encounter any sketchy characters on the property whatsoever. The room was perfectly clean and I felt comfortable all around. The only downside of this motel that I can think of, is that it is in a somewhat unsavory part of Oakland, but I knew that coming in. I would absolutely stay here again.

The price is very decent for the room you get. Room is very clean, and the onsite manager is very kind. But you get just the room (which is OK if that's all you need)! Keep in mind this two-star hotel is located at the edge of the city. It's probably best choice for travelers who drive themselves. It's within 5 to 10 minutes walk to public transportations including Bart train station and several buses. But be prepared to walk through some poorly conditioned areas.

The room itself was a bit dated and a bit dingy but you can call it retro I suppose. Had no lift, and ice machine was out of order (and looked like it has been for quite some time), sometimes reception was not manned so you probably want to be careful not to run out of things you have to ask for. These small negatives were still torelable, these were nothing to compare to.... the SHOWER. OMG, I never had to turn so many times to wash because the water had VERY little pressure and water came out like tiny spray. Not drips, but spray. You need to shower in sections of body with that little amount of water, and it takes AGES. I was glad I only had 2 nights there, it was such a chore to shower!!

I had a 2 night stay this hotel. I fould it to be very clean an comfortable. The owners maintain the property nicely. It was very quite. The room was modest, but i had leanty of space and the bathroom was large. To me, it was a great value.

The bathroom was larger and more recently renovated. The motel was hard to find in the dark, but in a quiet area away from traffic. Price was very competitive and I would stay here again.

Always clean, convenient to BART-get anyway on the Bay Area. Stayed here several times and the gentleman who works the front desk is amazing. Always friendly, remembers me—even if it’s been 6 or more months. Will definitely stay again.

I stayed here with not high expectations. I only needed a bed for a few hours of sleep before a predawn departure, and a warm shower. The bed was quite hard, but the sheets appeared clean (unsure about the bed spread). The shower stall looks new and there appear to have been other recent upgrades too. Although this room is a non smoking room now, the strong stench of stale smoke still lingers.

The WORST customer service and the level of stupidity of the receptionist/owner was way beyond anything. Room was disgusting with blood, pus stains on the bed and floor. Shower, sink, bathtub all got molded and disgustingly stink. Alert: BED BUGSSS! The room smells like someone’s been dead in there, filthy!!! DO NOT come here at all cost!!!!!

Was turned away at the front desk for not having a credit card instead of my debt card. Was told it was written in their policy yet found no evidence of this on the Expedia website. Was then rudely asked to leave the parking lot as I was searching for alternative lodging. Would NEVER suggest this place.

Don’t stay here on Saturday night if you want to sleep. The hotel itself and service was nice but unfortunately they have residential neighbors that blast music from 5pm-12am. Ear plugs won’t help and I’m on the deaf side. This has happened twice in the last 3 weeks. Won’t be staying here again

Easy to find, downtown, no place for the dog to go. Felt like a dangerous neighborhood at night. Accomodations fine, appliances unplugged. Common in Ca? Slept fine for one night.

Everything about my stay was good, except that the "non-smoking" room that I was given had a strong smell of tobacco smoke, as well as in the bathroom. After leaving & checking out I realized later that everything I had in the room (clothes, backpack, towel, etc.) smelled of tobacco smoke which was definitely displeasing while I was there and after I left.

VERY clean, neat, simple (small but just fine for me) room. Everything I needed for an impromptu one night stay. Very nice folks.

- A slight foul smell in the room, which could have been vented if the windows were always left open during the day. - A slight but permanent huming noise from the nearby freeway which can be more or less intense depending on the room. Pros: - Very convenient location close to the MacArthur BART station.

I like that it was a decent price and the staff was nice to me. the rooms were more than adequate for what i needed. the only complaint I had was the area around the place was a little sketchy, mostly it was just people in the neighborhood arguing.

I love the property although I've never stayed there I didn't stay there at all they said they didn't take my credit card and I just want to know if you guys ran it and you guys got paid in the dates got mixed up I don't know but I want my money back... If it came out of my account

I was pleasantly surprised , location was great.. quiet surroundings, Appealing to ones Eye & Affordable. The staff were Friendly & Accommodating. I was in town for a Funeral & needed a place to lay my head. I had driven 5 hours & needed rest. & It was perfect . I will definately stay there again if ever in the area. Only thing is I left my favorite pillow behind 😭

We had a really good stay at this place! Esp for a last minute search and weekend trip to the Bay Area from LA. The bed, shelves, dressers, TV, and decor were nice, placed well, and comfortable in the room. Very useful to have a microwave and refrigerator available in the room. The space was plenty for two adults. The bathroom seemed renovated with a new shower that was also enjoyable. Everything was real clean and, although not needed, they even replaced the towels for the second night we stayed. It felt private to be on the second floor but being closest to the street got a little noisy but didn’t really bother us. Plenty of free parking included with the room, which was also safe. Yes, a few blocks around are not the best so keep in mind and avoid especially if you’re on foot and/or at night. Location is excellent for easily driving to various other points of interest (most 10-15mins away) however. The customer service for checking in was good, clear, and efficient. The inn didn’t seem too busy overall (maybe low season) and other guests staying were cordial. Great experience and would definitely recommend!

So gross. Really rude tenants that come and go all night long bumping their car speakers. I can say that the peron at the desk was nice. Im also glad i was able to park directly in front of my room, because that is one shady neighborhood. I dont recommend this hotel at all.

There was a terrible smell. Sheet had hair in it so they didn’t change from the prior person. Bathroom wall was moldy all over and carpet had big stains. Towels were very worn out. The area is very unsafe. I usually don’t write reviews but this place even though is cheap it doesn’t worth a penny.

Though an older facility, it is well-maintained. The room was clean with a comfortable bed and updated bathroom. The service was friendly and great. The free parking was incredibly convenient -- a one minute walk to any room. The only room for improvement is the shower water pressure (though there was always hot water).

Very good for the price

I wouldn't recommend that place of staying to no one. They are very racist they allow who they want to stay there I was denied because I had an debit card instead of a major credit card but several people whom I watched that the hotel owners or employees new were allowed to use a debit card some were even allowed to stay with just a nod of the head when I begin to express what I saw the employee or owner begin to get loud and try and make a scene like I was not complying with what he were saying

They do not accept credit cards from credit union or credits cards issued by certain businesses even they have VISA logo. The staff calling me stupid.

This was a great place to stay if you want an easy and clean place to sleep and shower. It's perfect for quick stays near the city and near fun parks to explore. The staff are nice and accommodating. Clean rooms and awesome renovated bathrooms!

The experience sucked! I was accused of being dishonest. The clerk accused me of giving him a debit card that was no good. He stated the only way I could stay at this inn was to use a major credit card. I produced my American Express platinum card. He started this stupid stuff about not being his problem. I believe I was being discriminated because of the color of my skin. I called Orbitz to talk to this really silly young man. The clerk lied to Orbitz telling the agent he ran my American Express card which he never did. He was too busy cutting me off when I tried to explain I was very tired and did not need this kind of treatment. Something need to be done about this clerk and the way he mis-treated me! As I was leaving the drive way of the inn the fool came up to my car in a threatening manner and started taunting me and stating that I was somehow mentally ill and to get off the property. Something is very wrong with this young man and I’m still very upset how I a older black gentlemen was treated by this imbecile.

This was my 3rd time staying there. I love it! It’s very safe and clean. The customer service is great. The check in process was easy and they always help when you need something.

Unsafe area. Prostitution and staff makes up rules about payment that are not written in Orbitz site or their own site. Will never step foot there. Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn are the only safe respites.

I choosed this because of the closeness to Amtrak. 7 minute drive. Price was accepted but I would pay a bit more for a better neighborhood. Didnt feel safe.

It was a really small room and in the bathroom we found a dead spider as well as a hair in the toilet... Also the whole area felt very unsafe! All in all it was defenetily not worth the money, eventhough the receptionist was super nice!

Location is a problem. The neighbourhood features homeless people quite close, and very few restaurants close enough for a comfortable walk. Lack of coffee-making facilities makes this even worse. Room was not fully serviced every day.Management tried to be helpful, and generally was not too bad.

You get what you pay for, but for a cheap place it was clean, not very quiet but the staff seemed to pay attention to what went on and they were very friendly and helpful.

Carpet was very dirty. And both window frames were filthy. Plus the wall hanging light had not been dusted in years.

This is an extremely basic motel. Don’t expect extras such as a hairdryer in the room, though that might have been able on request. I was able to borrow an iron. The room was really cold and there was only a thin blanket and bedspread for warmth on the bed. I got two additional blankets from the office. Staff were very helpful and the room rate was quite reasonable. My most serious complaint was that the room fridge was not plugged in and I did not discover that until I had had food in there for a full day.

Location (berkeley) was a plus. Low shower flow was a negative.
