Overall our stay was a pleasant one! The staff was super friendly and helpful. The front desk night manager, Anessa (sorry if I misspelled her name) was exceptional. She went out of her way to make our stay a memorable one, treating all of us with both respect and kindness.

The room didn't have a lot of convenient options for outlets near the beds. Average cleanliness, average condition. Hampton Inns are starting to decline in quality. Breakfast was ok, not as good as other locations. We won't be going back to that location, and we might start staying at a different chain. We weren't as impressed with Hampton Inn the past year or so, and this location clinched it for us.

I booked an accessible room but my room didn’t seem accessible. The door didn’t have a lower peephole. The bathroom mirror was so high I couldn’t see in it, the hand soap was so high on the wall I couldn’t reach it (good thing I bring my own soap) and the beds were a little high too. If I was staying longer than one night I would’ve requested a different room. And the bathroom doors don't lock, they are a sliding barn door. That’s weird a bathroom door should lock!

Parking was ok - not clear that there was additional in back, but once I figured it out, good to go. could just offer bottled water in the room - that is a nice touch for coffee in the room

Breakfast was great, staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were well kept. The only thing we found was that the rug was not vacuumed under the pull out sofa. We found an old pill, some dirt and crumbs, but it wasn’t too bad. We did have very noisy neighbors, but that is to be expected anywhere you go, especially on graduation weekend. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

Check in was fast and easy. The room blinds were broken so it was dark in our room all day. The bathroom door handle was about to rip off. Would’ve been nice to know a whole kid basketball team was there making noise until 10:30 pm though. They were running around all day and night. Breakfast was great. The pool is small and was packed full of kids so seemed impossible to go in. When we did get to go, the floors in the pool area were disgusting. There were no towels left. I know it was a busy weekend for the hotel though. I thought being outside of downtown Rochester we would have a more peaceful stay.

No military discount, staff had no idea about discounts. The pool was small and over crowded. Alarm went off at 7 am for some burnt toast no announcements or calls where made so we all had to try and get out at the same time

Moreover, housekeeping checked in with you every morning to make sure everything was good and nothing was needed. The Hampton Inn in Penfield provides exceptional service at the front desk, as well as a quiet, comfortable and spacious room. I had to ask the front desk to accept an Amazon delivery for my elderly sister who lives nearby, which they cheerfully did. At the last minute, I had to extend my stay for several days when she was hospitalized. Not only were they able to keep me in the same room, they went out of their way to find a Diet Coke when she was discharged and none were in the cooler. Finally, they were gracious and understanding when I explained that we had accidentally spilled a drink on the sheets and mattress on my last night. The kindness, support and friendliness made a very difficult week significantly easier. That's worth a ton of loyalty!

Reserved a double room. Stayed with my teenage daughter and was given a king room. Tried to change after we got our keys and was told there was nothing they could do because they were sold out. I had to share a bed with my large child. Also, we were given an accesible room for the second weekend in a row. This hotel was cleaner than Irondequoit but there was no manager available to discuss the situation with and we paid up for two beds and didn’t get what we paid for. Btw, we checked in at 3:11 pm so it was just minutes after we were allowed to so it wasn’t late check in or anything. Never heard from management. Will never trust Hampton Inn again.

We were 2 families with kids in each room. We had called after our booking and also few days before we came that we would like to have connecting room. It would be nice if these requests can be looked at by the staff more seriously.

The customer service at this hotel is very poor. I normally don’t like to complain but there were just too many things that were not good about this stay. First, I booked a two queen bed room and when we went to our room we saw that we were given a room with only 1 king bed and a pull out sofa. I was not happy about it but I thought, I’d just roll with it. When we entered our room and went to hang our jackets in the closet we noticed a scarf hanging there. It was very obvious that when the room was cleaned the housekeeping staff never bothered to look in the closet. There were no sheets or pillows provided for the pull out sofa in the room. When we called down for sheets we were told to go down to the front desk to pick them up ourselves. In every other hotel I have stayed in, they always bring the sheets or towels we request to the room. On the night before leaving I had asked if it would be possible for the person to help me put a freezer pack in their freezer since our room fridges did not have a freezer portion. The girl refused. I asked why not and she said she didn’t know. I was very disappointed. Overall I found that the staff were not very helpful and the front desk staff were always on their personal cellphones. I would not recommend this hotel due to the poor service.

This was my fourth time staying. Previously it was a great experience, friendly staff, clean and comfy beds. This time the beds were squeaky and bathroom was dirty. Next time no matter where I stay i will be asking for a room away from any main doors and elevators. Starting at 3 am all we could hear was opening and closing of manual sliding glasses doors. We arrived late so to late to ask for another room we were tired and thought it be fine until 4 am

We reported these issues during our stay, but since the hotel was fully booked, we were told a room change was not possible. While the staff were polite, the overall experience did not meet the expected standard for this brand.

The bed was uncomfortable, the shower water was not warm enough, and the breakfast was the typical low-quality fare offered by most chain hotels—though the selection here was smaller than we’ve seen elsewhere. It would be unlikely that we would stay here again.

The room was clean and well-equipped. Our tournament was canceled, so we left the next day. It would have been nice to receive a small discount code to book again at a later date, but the front desk didn’t offer one. We are heading back to the same area next week and will be trying another hotel.

literally filthy.. my room smelled like body odor, the toilet had not hair from our head on it. you could tell the bathroom had never seen a deep clean because someone contact lense was left out under the sink. if my circumstances were different i would have left immediately.. the rooms were so filthy it was a shame

There were always parking spots available. The breakfast was tasty and had a good variety. They also have a free 24/7 coffee station (sadly 2 of the coffee pots and the hot chocolate was missing upon check-out. Not sure if this is planned or was just a coincidence). My daughter got sick twice while in bed! We had to ask for clean sheets a couple of times and the staff were happy to help! The staff were wonderful overall! The laundry facilities were a bit pricey, but efficient and very convenient in case of emergency. The pool was fun, BUT it would have been nicer if it was a little warmer (we went in the winter). The hot tub was too hot - I tried to get in, but could only bare it for a moment. The hotel was easy to find and check-in and check-out was smooth. I would recommend staying here and would go back. :)

The staff was wonderful. Parking, check in, and housekeeping were great. We used the pool, gym, and ate the continental breakfast: my kids loved the hot waffles, and omelets included with breakfast. We stayed on New Years Eve, so it was a little crowded.. but everything was clean, and run well.

Ended up staying here unexpectedly for 2 nights due to weather & flight issues. Was very happy with the room. It was clean & comfortable.

We were evacutaed on Saturday night (around 1am) due to the misuse of the lobby microwave. The burn smell came up the elevator shaft to the second floor and not everyone evacuated. No one from the hotel communicated with those of us waiting and freezing outside. The fire department showed up more than 20 minutes after the alarm went off. The police drive by and then came back. It was the fire dept. who tolld us to return to our room. It was scary. A minor point, the oatmeal on Monday morning was cold and the bananas were not ripe on any day.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had 2 rooms during our stay. My son noticed a bunch of box elder bugs along the outside wall in his room. When he reported it to the front desk the staff member apologized and immediately moved him to a larger room across the hall. The rooms were otherwise clean and quiet and the breakfast was good.

The breakfast is amazing (fluffy Belgian waffles) omelets, fruit, etc. the rooms are always clean and very comfortable, and the pool and hot tub are always clean and well maintained. We have stayed for holidays, birthdays, and out of town guests.. it is absolutely one of our favorites!

I will for sure be choosing this hotel again when we visit the Rochester area. The professionalism and courtesy of the staff was above reproach. It did not matter what time we were coming in. The people were so nice and professional. To be honest, the customer service felt like we were staying in a high-end hotel. The breakfast was just okay, but the hotel as a whole was the best mid-level hotel we have ever stayed in.

We were put in a really large room adjoining a really loud foul mouthed neighbor unfortunately. No more rooms to switch too. Complained and nothing done. The elevators could definitely use servicing. First floor light not working. Clunky and slow. Breakfast was good. Beds comfortable. Drain not working correctly in the bathroom. Light over the mirror in the bathroom had no light switch to turn on. Every time I went to the front desk workers had to emerge eventually from the office or outside. They were friendly every time. Also I have stayed at this hotel probably 10 times yet that is not noted anywhere. That is a big miss. It is convenient to my daughter’s college, usually quiet, beds comfortable and we like the breakfast. Just needs some maintenance, someone consistently at the desk who notes repeat customers and maybe put out pourable half and half to help save the environment instead of those tiny plastic creamers with the complimentary coffee.

We had a lovely stay at the Hampton Inn Rochester Penfield! The hotel is in a convenient location, just about 10-15mins from downtown and in a very quiet neighborhood. We loved the pool and the daily breakfast was also great. Staff were warm and attentive. Overall, a wonderful stay, and would stay again if we were in the area!

Got to our room on the fifth floor and it was terrible but my wife wiped it down and we dealt with it! When closing the curtain we noticed it was broke and hung using zip ties so I mentioned it to same guy (so we wouldn’t get blamed) the guy stated “we are aware” We took lots of pictures and my wife has been in management for most of her career, she showed the manager on duty the next morning and she had nothing to say! If anyone wants to see the filth and mold we still have pictures because we will send them to corporate

Some hard to see surfaces could have been cleaner (handprints on black room door, previous occupant had spilled something on carpet and tucked-away ottoman) but otherwise very clean. Bathroom was especially nice and the room is designed for efficient use of space. Breakfast and pool area were very clean every day, even when they were busy. Beds were comfortable. I would absolutely stay here again for the location and the quality of the stay.

Room had dead bugs on the floor. My room was showing reserved on the staff computer so between 11:45pm and 12am a staff member was knocking on my door. Not a great protocol to check if the room is being used.

The room was very small. We had a rollaway bed which only fit in the hallway that led to the bathroom and door to the room, and took up most of that hallway so if we had to use the bathroom in the middle of the night we had about 6” of space to squeeze by a bed with a sleeping kid in it. There wasn’t a single dresser for clothing in the room and the closet was very small. There was hair in the bathroom when we checked in. The breakfast was mediocre at best. My kids did love the indoor pool and hot tub! The gym was fine. Typical for a hotel gym and seemed clean enough.

Very clean and updated room. Good selection at breakfast. Nice set up of the dining area.

The heat/ ac unit was very loud. It constantly switched from blowing hot and cool air. Would not stay at this property again because of it.

The staff were fantastic. They made our stay very enjoyable.

It was a great place

Rooms need updating and maintenance. Toilet paper holder coming loose from wall and kept turning dropping the roll. HVAC loud. TV channels could not be accessed directly. Had to go to guide and scroll through all unknown channels first. Breakfast was adequate but offerings were often unavailable 30 minutes or so before closing Hospitality staff was friendly but appeared to be overwhelmed
