Reviews
The hotel is generally praised for its cleanliness, proximity to the airport, and friendly staff, making it a good choice for short stays or layovers. However, the lack of nearby dining options and inconsistent air conditioning are frequent complaints, and some guests have had negative experiences with customer service and transportation to/from the airport.
- Clean and comfortable rooms
- Close to the airport with convenient access
- Limited dining options in the surrounding area
- Inconsistent air conditioning and customer service

Will definitely use this hotel the next time I’m in Portland… Staff was always amazing!
- 5/5
Really fun hotel in an excellent location. The bar and lobby space are really comfortable to just hang out in and talk with the friendly staff. Don't worry about using valet, you can park on the street as it's free until the morning after 7:00 pm. Insider tip, find a spot before 7:00, use the Kitty parking app to pay and you are good until 8:00 am. You can then renew it in the morning. Highly recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
Really easy to check in and out
- 2/5
There were no bath towels, WiFi did not work. Rooms were not cleaned well. There was no coffee available downstairs as it was always out and not refilled.
- 5/5
Best idea was to make a reservation at this fine establishment. The Rose Festival parade was going on during this time. The general manager reached out to remind us to check in early. This was great communication and resulted in a fantastic evening. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The elevator was inoperable due to someone vaping in it. That definitely made it challenging since my room was on the 10th floor. No worries, I got my steps in and all was well. Thank you for the memories. Great games, great service. Marc
- 4/5
The vibe, the friendly staff. The HUGE square toilets.
- 2.5/5
The location was excellent, the staff was great, and the beds were comfortable, but beyond this we can't recommend the Moxy and we would look to stay elsewhere for our next visit to Portland. - Inability to adjust the lights individually (all on or all off) - Thin walls so we could hear actual conversations, and the white noise machine felt like a poor compromise. - No ability to make coffee or tea in the room. - No blankets. Incentivizing guests to use heat seemed environmentally unsound. - Virtually no furniture besides the bed. Rooms felt bare.
- 1/5
We were unfortunately charged a fee before we were made aware of it, although we notified the hotel staff of the issue.
- 5/5
Easy fast check in and out. Staff was nice bartenders were cool. Overall loved our stay.

The bed was extremely comfortable , I slept so good . Very chill vibe , would definitely stay here again 👍
- 5/5
Good overall good location
- 5/5
The staff is so amazing. Duncan and our bartender, Chris, made this stay so exceptional. I had only been to Portland once before and stayed here so I chose it again out of familiarity; the generosity and hospitality they both showed us has made me a Downtown Portland Moxy customer for life. 10/10 will always recommend.
- 5/5
Front desk staff was very friendly. Bar staff was very good too they made good drinks.
- 4/5
All and all it was a pleasant stay. The staff did seem a little bit frustrated during check-in but got us to our room without any problems. Stayed on the 11th floor and had a beautiful view. Didn't have any coffee pods for the coffee maker in the room. Toilet paper and soap seemed limited. Also a little bit of confusion as far as getting food from their ghost kitchen. For the price we paid, I can't complain and had a good night's so stay.
- 4.5/5
Duncan, who checked us in was quite helpful! Rooms were clean and stylish. No Nespresso pods in my room. Had to go hunt for coffee outside the hotel.

Upon arrival I was greeted by Isabel who was so kind from the time I arrived to the time I left. Later that first day I met Duncan & he was such a ray of sunshine throughout my whole stay. He went above and beyond every time I had a question or an ask. His customer service is 10/10 & he seemed so genuinely glad to be there. He gave off such good vibes! My room was clean & exactly what I needed during my solo stay. I’ll definitely be back! :)

Nice stay

Great location. Was able to walk to several places in the area. Staff is incredibly friendly. The lobby/bar is so fun

- 5/5
Such a clean and beautiful hotel with amazing views of city and friendly, helpful staff!
- 5/5
Amazing and clean
- 5/5
Location and clean Front desk seemed like they hated their lives especially this younger tan man with cool hair. He was a downer and shouldn’t welcoming guests. definitely was sad to see and lowered my experience. That being said the night shift counter guy was awesome and really helpful
- 2/5
The rooms were extremely small, no microwave or a mini fridge and since they don't have a parking lot, you can either park at the lot on Yamhill & 10th or do valet & again that is wxtra money. For how much we spent for our stay there, not worth it. Unfortunately, we would not stay there again.
- 4/5
Staffs are AWESOME
- 5/5
Great hotel had an amazing time.
- 5/5
Staff was very kind and helpful. Plan parking ahead of time. There was a nearby public parking garage. Hotel bar seemed active downstairs.

- 3/5
There was nowhere in the hotel to get cold water, other than bar. Which is not always opened, nowhere to get ice either. No shower door, which was odd. The the ceiling was rough concrete, but not in a chic industrial way, in a - it was never completed way. Didn’t realize how tiny room was. I had asked for staff to fix a light that didn’t work on arrival, said they would, they did not. The bed was comfy, and the lounge areas were beautiful and fun! Did get to try food as it was closed most the time we stayed. Staff was decent.
- 3/5
The rooms are essentially large closets. Very little space to put things. We walked all over downtown — but it felt as if we didn’t have someplace to simply relax when we came back. This wasn’t my favorite hotel experience.

The Moxy was niceee, very PINK & Chill. Nice social area & the bartenders make sure your drink is right; first one’s free with check-in. My room was clean & equipped with what I needed plus they have lockers with extra towels and other utilities. It was a good stay:)

What we liked about the property was its convenient downtown Portland location. The overall vibe was great, and the customer service was excellent. The rooms were a bit smaller than what we’re used to. We had called in the morning to request a late checkout, but were told there were no spots available. It had been offered at check-in at no charge—and we noticed it being offered to other guests as well—so it was a bit confusing when it wasn’t available later. Not a big issue overall, just something to consider if late checkout availability is limited.

We stayed for a week and had an amazing time, the staff was very friendly and extremely helpful when it came to letting us use the valet to load/unload our bags to helping recommend spots around the city. If you’re staying in Portland I highly recommend Moxy!

No one at the cafe acknowledged me at first. Unable to use a different credit card for payment and deposit. Room was tiny. Soundproofing poor

Amazing as always. Love staying here for work or pleasure
- 5/5
Very fun hotel
- 5/5
The Portland Moxy is great, the location, the ease and the hotel itself. A stones throw from Powell’s bookstore and the living room theater (we watched The Stranger) and it is surrounded by good food places (ramen, Mexican burritos and Indian food). A great place
- 5/5
Great valet parking
- 5/5
Very convenient downtown location
- 4/5
Nice staff.
- 5/5
Had a great time. Thank you.
- 4/5
The property was nice and in a good location, but the walls were rather thin, making everything audible in other rooms.
- 4/5
The room was small but perfect for a quick one night stay in town. It was clean, and despite other reviews about it being noisy it was pretty quiet. We did use the noise machine and that helped drown out anything. We just parked around the corner at a parking garage overnight for $14. It was $62 for valet and the staff said the lot behind was not patrolled so we opted for the garage. No issues!
- 5/5
Fresh, stylish, and far from a cookie-cutter stay. Moxy Portland Downtown has a modern, loft-inspired feel, comfortable rooms, a great bed, and sleek showers. The location is excellent, but what really stood out was the staff—professional, attentive, and truly welcoming. The atmosphere felt inclusive, relaxed, and easy from start to finish. Easily one of my favorite places to stay in Portland.
- 5/5
Excellent stay!!! Property was very clean and staff amazing

- 5/5
Staff were very helpful, held my luggage for me when I dropped by before check-in and even got me checked-in two hours early! Room was exactly as claimed, with very Portland aesthetic and cleverly adorned. Comfy bed, excellent shower, the single queen room was perfect for a solo traveler.

- 5/5
The vibe was amazing and the room was very clean, my ONLY complaint was that I couldn’t figure out how to get the tv to come out a bit so I could plug in my firestick. But not a big deal. :)
- 1/5
The first clue was the earplugs and the noise machine in my room. Neither were effective against the paper thin walls. I could every footstep in the hall, doors slamming, people talking, people arguing, people coughing. The coup d'etat was someone having sex in the room adjacent and making MY headboard shake! I barely slept all night since the neighboring rooms did not appear to be on a shared schedule so there was constant noise. Including being awoken by other people's phone alarms in the morning. I have stayed in hotels all over the world and this ranks at the bottom of the list. The only thing that would have made this experience worse woud have been bed bugs!
- 5/5
I love Moxy hotels and Moxy Portland was no exception
- 5/5
Great place to stay clean rooms really nice bar the staff are great really friendly and wend over and beyond to make us feel welcome.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, great location.
- 5/5
Clean !safe & rad staff !! Thanks folks!
- 5/5
The coolest hotel I stayed at
- 5/5
Was great. Good location. Friendly staff and good atmosphere
- 4/5
Room was clean. It’s not a hotel I would stay at more than 3 days. There’s no closet. Housekeeping comes every 2 days. It’s a no frills hotel. It is in a great spot of Downtown. Lots of walking distance arras
- 4/5
Clean room. Valet was an issue or my timeing was off. Night we arrived no valet service was outside, waited about 10mins to get someone. When came back to hotel Saturday night, again no valet service outside and there were 4 cars in valet area waiting to be serviced
- 4/5
Clean, small room and restroom. Staff were nice but hard to hear. The lobby has a relatively loud speaker set up pounding out house music. The Valet was $62 so that wiped away the discounts. Good location downtown close to fun parts of PDX.
- 5/5
The room was spotless, the lobby/bar area was decorated beautifully, they have an amazing Thai food restaurant in the hotel, and the location was great. There was also a dj performing our first night in town.
- 2/5
We checked in and said we wanted to sleep, so they put us on the second floor right above the bar/DJ. There was some type of vent machine in the hallway that made noise all night. Just don't put people in the second floor rooms if you know it's going to be that bad. Give me my money back you total POS
- 5/5
The entire stay was GREAT! It was surprising to see the hotel has a mini built-in club/bar. That was FUN! Staff were nice all around.
- 5/5
Great staff, clean and quiet, comfortable and charming 5 enthusiastic stars!
- 5/5
Staff super friendly great environment
- 2/5
The room smelled of mold/mildew and was very cold, took hours to warm up and did not ever reach the desired temp I entered on the thermostat. The shower curtain is placed too far out so that water hits it and pools on the bathroom floor. There was a good 1/2 inch on the floor after my brief shower. Likely this is where the mold is coming from.
- 4/5
Great hotel, friendly staff a nice room. Had a little trouble with the street car bell woke me up whenever I passed but otherwise a great stay.
- 4/5
Modern hotel design, easy access, comfortable bed/bedding, nice room layout
- 5/5
Cool place. Great staff.
- 3/5
Arrived and desk was helpful (we thought). Got to room no electricity. Not sure if they only turn on power to some rooms but after call electricity game on. Room quite cold. Your lighting is so low it was difficult to set temp. We slept at 65 until the morning when we could read instructions. It was good to anticipate booze by providing earplugs. City stated cleaning flood drain about 6 am. If desk knew noise was coming we should have been put on quiet side oh hotel.
- 1/5
I will never stay here.
- 4/5
The location of the place was great! Close to many things. The staff at the front desk was very kind and friendly. The room was a lot smaller than we thought but it was clean. We didn’t get to check out the bar unfortunately. This place felt a bit too hipster for my liking with the overall vibe and I would probably prefer a different hotel next time I visit, just out of personal preference. But it’s perfect for someone who expects it.
- 5/5
Awesome place to stayed for any holiday or events
- 3/5
The property has a good vibe for New Year’s Eve. I’d say it was sufficient for a place to crash for one night but I wouldn’t call it comfortable. The bed was very hard and the space was cramped. Employees were all very nice.
- 4/5
Nice place / helpful staff
- 5/5
Fine stay
- 5/5
Clean room, kinda bare but comfortable, fun hotel
- 5/5
Clean room. Polite staff
- 4/5
Room was smaller than I expected from the pics on the web. Staff was fantastic except for a small wait for the valet in my second day. Lots of sites and shops nearby
- 1/5
The rooms smell musky and moldy. I was bit by a bed bug. Two blood stains on the bed indicated that.
- 4/5
Love staying at the MOXY
- 5/5
Great people who work here. Nice atmosphere.
- 5/5
The location is superb; it’s close to everything downtown. The hotel always clean and the team is very friendly.
- 5/5
The room was safe
- 5/5
Super clean room, I like they don't have carpet, walk in shower, shower wand option instead of just a shower head. Staff were very friendly. It was close to public transport and lots of food and shopping. Ability to store luggage before check in and after check out was great, so I could explore the area without having to bring my luggage around in the rain. Only a block from the Max red line that goes straight to and from the airport. Cool and cozy lobby with lots of space to hang out.
- 2/5
The walls of my room were very thin and I could hear everything my next door neighbors were saying as if they were in my room. I have stayed in a lot of hotels, and some noise is of course to be expected. But this was on another level that I have never experienced and it negatively affected my sleep.
- 5/5
Wife and I had a great stay while attending a local Xmas party. Staff was exceptionally friendly, hotel was clean and modern, bar service was excellent. Would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Excellent service by Jake, Clayton, Duncan, Adam at the front desk and all the stuff at this location. This is a great place very convenient and walkable to everything. Customer service is amazing, friendly welcoming, and informative
- 4/5
Great location. So many eating and shopping areas nearby. Staff was kind and friendly.
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 5/5
Great hotel to stay in if single or a couple. Rooms were just enough space for 2. Amenities are a plus. Nice communal area and convenient bar!

Wonderful stay! Staff were so nice and accommodating. Cool, clean, modern hotel.
- 5/5
The staff were all friendly and helpful. We really liked the cool vibes of the hotel. The bar is really fun!
- 4/5
Incredible for the value. Nice, clean, room was quiet.
- 3/5
The room was extremely small, one blanket, the thermostat didn't function nor did one of the bedside lamps. No minifridge. It felt spartan and the hipster vibe did nothing for me.

- 5/5
Incredible staff!
- 5/5
I stay at the moxy all the time. The staff and hotel are great.
- 5/5
Fun hotel!
- 5/5
The staff was great, very helpful and friendly. The facility was alin excellent condition. We spent a lot of time in the very welcoming lobby. They had many activities for guests to enjoy. So many things to do within an easy walking distance and of course the transit system is second to none. Definitely would recommend.
- 3/5
Basically an overpriced concrete bunker with few amenities. Only thing with considering of it is the location in the heart of the city. But, other hotels surround Moxy at better designed for a weary traveler. Moxy is… not. To be polite.
- 5/5
Comfortable bed, staff was friendly. Free drink ticket with checkin.
- 5/5
Very unique and hip property. Staff went out of their way to make us feel at home.
- 5/5
Lobby goals! This hotel nailed the aesthetic. The photobooth setup is such a fun touch—especially the neon purple “photobooth” sign that adds a playful glow and makes for perfect photo ops. I loved how the space showcases local artwork, giving it a creative, community-rooted feel. Bonus points for the drinks: well-crafted and delicious. Whether you’re checking in or just hanging out, the vibe here is effortlessly cool.
- 5/5
loved my stay here! amazing view from my room and at walking distance of many places!
- 5/5
Very convenient location, close to public transportation and restaraunts. Staff was incredible helpful and nice.
- 4/5
Very clean fun hotel loved the vibe of the whole place! Really great stay, only complaint would be that the bar closed a bit early so we didn’t get our complimentary drink after the game we attended.
- 5/5
Family trip and fun, modern, trendy hotel.
- 5/5
this properly has had elevator issues for the last few times I’ve stayed here. other then that everything is on point.

We really enjoyed our time at the Moxy. We came in to Portland to attend a concert at the Crystal Ball room. The Moxy is very close to the concert hall and it's easy to walk to and from. There is a parking lot next to the Moxy where you can park overnight for 35 dollars and that was handy. It's very hip and modern. We enjoyed getting takeout from both restaurants on site. There is a bar on the bottom level with cool artwork you can purchase and photo booths. The floors in the rooms are not carpeted which was fine for us. We liked they had a little fridge in the room and a sound machine to block out any outside city noise. It was functional and met our needs for our visit.
- 5/5
Everyone was really nice here and great location. Took he train from the airport and it was a quick 2 block walk. I had a basic queen room it was wasn't huge but was fine for one person.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly and very attentive. The place was super clean.
- 5/5
This property was so fun to stay at, they had restaurants available in the lobby and games that you could take up to your room. Even with a kiddo it was such a fun experience and they had dancing and fun activities at the bar. The best part was that everything was within walking distance of the hotel! Transportation, food, shopping, etc. a wonderful property, stay and experience!
- 5/5
Amazing staff, amazing room, and wonderful bar service. The mini pop up restaurants were wonderful. Randy at the breakfast sammie shop was very cool and friendly!
- 5/5
Got recommended this place by a coworker. Really nice easy for people with no kids. Very walkable area as well.
- 4/5
It was awesome.
- 3/5
The room was cute but not practical in a lot of ways. No water pressure in the shower
- 5/5
Perfect “in-city” location and all around set-up, with convenient check-in and lobby options for some food. Not stuffy or boring, refreshing for city stay. Uptight people may not like.
- 4/5
I did not feel comfortable going out at night in this area
- 3/5
Everything was great but after the first night I had bug bites/spider bites all over my legs and arms. I’ve stayed there multiple times and this has never occurred til this time!
- 5/5
Located in a walkable area that has lots of places to shop and eat at.
- 5/5
Great stay staff was always smiling and welcoming.
- 5/5
Visiting from out of state, everything about this place was fantastic. From the location, ambiance, and staff, I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Shout out to Aaron and Jake, they were great when figuring out logistics regarding our stay and were polite/kind.
- 5/5
Super clean, fun, great bar, easy to check in and great location for bar hopping!

About what to expect give the vibe. Not bad at all
- 5/5

For a night, this place has everything you need. Our sole intention was going to Powells and that was a block away!

Good property. Great staff
- 5/5
Parking is pricy. But the hotel is beautiful and so lively/ fun! The rooms can get a bit noisy but they provide ears plugs and white noise machines! It’s so trendy and clean. The bed was comfy! There was no refrigerator Though. That was the only downside really. The bar is fun! Great price.
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
My room was clean if a little small, but I was traveling solo, so that's okay. I would say that the walls are a little thin. I got to overhear a loud and colorful phone conversation by someone in a nearby room. it was actually kind of amusing. I would recommend staying here.
- 4/5
Nice place to stay the night in downtown
- 5/5
The room has a noise machine on the wall, it will definitely come in handy. It is a bit of a party hotel. And the noise in the streets, garbage trucks, sound of DJs music is substantial. So if you are a very light sleeper, pick your room wisely.
- 4/5
Convenient location. Rooms are small and minimal.
- 5/5
Just be aware of your surroundings when walking around.
- 5/5
So nice
- 5/5
Very cute and stylish
- 5/5
Thank you for a great stay!
- 5/5
Everyone one there was super friendly and welcoming. They made great recommendations for first time Portland visitors. There is a cool bar at the property and good food options. It’s such a fun and trendy spot. All good vibes!
- 3/5
The hotel was decent, rooms are small and basic, lobby area seems chaotic. Only one elevator working the whole time we were there
- 5/5
Staying here made our first visit to Portland extremely enjoyable!!
- 5/5
Fun, upbeat hotel in a great downtown location.
- 5/5
Very cute and fun atmosphere.
- 5/5
The staff were all so sweet! the drinks at the bar were amazing as well!
- 5/5
Loved it!
- 5/5
We loved it! Trendy and overall fun feel plus lots to do within walking distance, we enjoyed our stay!!
- 5/5
Staff was amazing, room was great. Love this place
- 5/5
Beautiful views
- 5/5
The location is definitely convenient, close to shops and restaurants. Safety is a concern. The outdoor parking lot is right next to the hotel, not gated. Cars were double parked and its a bit chaotic. I heard screaming during the weekend nights. Hotel rooms and staffs are nice but I wouldn’t recommend it for families
- 4/5
The room was small and lacked basic amenities like a microwave. Over the 3 nights we stayed, housekeeping never came by to clean the room, which was disappointing. Still, we had a great overall experience.
- 5/5
Nice central location and the staff was excellent
- 3/5
Moxy was a really cool and hip place. My issue was we reserved a king bed and was given a queen, the TV didnt work and it was very loud through the night.
- 2/5
No chairs. No frig - the lighting was All or nothing - 1 switch for 3 out of 4 lamps. Very Hard floor not carpeted! The valet however was the best part even though it costs $62!!
- 5/5
We really enjoyed the Moxy. Employees at the front desk at check in did a great job. The room was on the 11 floor. We heard it can be noisy, but being up that high, I guess, we didn't experience it. Loved the corner room with ceiling to floor windows and a comfy bed. My only complaint is that there was no housekeeping in our room. We were out of the room all day and I had expected the bed to be made when we got back. This was not the case. I'm unsure if you have to request it. It says they provide daily housekeeping when I check the sight. Oh well, I'd still stay here again.
- 4/5
Young vibe, great lounge area with plenty of games. Appreciated that rooms are not carpeted.
- 4/5
pillow were not comfortable

- 3/5
The check-in was fine but the clerk had a hard time hearing snce they share the check-in area with the bar and it was loud but she was nice. The bed was not comfortable and we were only given 1 big towel for the shower even though we checked in as 2 people staying in the room. There was a large clump of hair hanging from the wall hanging decoration in the bathroom.

Staff were friendly. My only complaint is that, in the four days we were there, housekeeping came by zero times. I even opted for the "every other day" housekeeping option. But otherwise, great stay.

My arrival was very late yet staff was very cheerful. Each time I went down to the lobby/bar/chill area, everyone was super nice. The room was very chic and clean. I loved the decor of the room and the entire hotel. It is a reasonably priced hotel for the location and vibe. The food carts are a nice added touch. There is no breakfast, but you are walking distance from places and they make up for it by providing the fun bar and the food carts. I will definitely be staying at a Moxy hotel again!

The crew gets a ten, the vibe in the bar and lobby, a ten, overall design, a ten, location, a ten...So much love--yet...things I did not love: the dark dark hallway to the room, no ice, no on-floor vending machines, no in-room microwave or mini fridge, the less than luxurious bed, the no where to put your stuff, the lack of maid service...$62 a night for the valet who quits at 11 pm. With a few improvements, my rating would go up.

So close to everything. Staff was friendly, professional, and prompt with any requests. Housekeeping does an amazing job cleaning the rooms and common areas. Would definitely stay again.

Poorly designed light switches. One must turn on door switch to operate bed light. Small portable lamp is a help Blackout blinds are great

Very minimal style but cool vibe and decor. Overall, clean and has basic necessities. Room amenities are limited, but rooms are clean.

Great staff, very friendly. Clean room, comfortable bed. Only issue was with the people staying in the next room screaming at each other in the middle of the night.

The Moxy is a quirky and trendy spot, smells fabulous as soon as you walk in. Great location to visit Powell's, Voodoo Donuts, and everything Downtown. However our room was smaller than anticipated. Limited on its amenities. The walls are extremely thin, we could hear our neighbors' conversations. Not a fan of the noise machine either. Our particular mattress sunk in the middle, it was not very comfortable. The only favorite part about the room was its cleanliness and the bathroom. I would not recommend staying for an extended visit but rather for a short stay.

Nice and easy!

Great location for walking around downtown Portland and to Pearl District. Powell’s books is just a few minutes away by foot, as well as many great dining options.

This hotels attempt at being modern and minimalist just leaves you with a lack of amenities. If you want to pay hotel prices for a hostel style room then this is for you. If not then I'd choose many of the other hotel options in the area. The room has a nice bed but there are no closest, the shower has no door and no privacy and there is no restaurant or food services in this hotel... again it feels like a hostel or a college dormitory.

They were awesome, it was my sisters birthday and they automatically upgraded us to the 12th floor suite. They have always been amazing and I will always stay there when I’m able to.

The Moxy was a really fun place to stay! Friendly staff, great bar, great location, clean and a great value! I have already booked for my next Portland trip! Minuses: I am not used to sleeping on a soft-topped bed, but worse than that were the pillows- to large and fluffy. I am bringing my own next time!!!

Man! Our experience at the Moxy was absolutely the best from the staff to the room and all the things to do nearby was awesome definitely booking again

Staff was not engaging nor friendly and talked amongst themselves. Information on room status was different with each staff.

Super small room, but set up to accommodate the size. It was super comfortable and beautifully decorated. Also, the down stairs common area was gorgeous.

Really enjoyed our stay and the room. Will be back!
