Reviews
The hotel is generally praised for its convenient location, cleanliness, and comfortable rooms. The staff is often described as friendly and attentive. However, some guests have issues with the parking fees, water pressure in the showers, and the quality of the breakfast buffet.

Excelent value. The breakfast was fantastic, although the breakfast staff was overwhelmed with a large crowd trying to get early breakfast before start of a morning conference.
- 4/5
The only good part about breakfast was the coffee, really good. the rest of the food was way below par, unless you like to eat the same cereal everyday. The onsite restaurant's were very good, limited selection, but convenient after a long day. Overall not a bad place to stay and right next door to the convention center.

We used the gym & we liked it.
- 5/5
Clean rooms and the best staff.
- 4.5/5
Great maintenance response when we had a problem with our AC. Ray was fantastic!! All the staff were friendly and helpful, beds were comfortable, room was quiet, good restaurants, tasty breakfast, and right across the street from the convention center. What more could you want. The couch in the room was getting a bit worn out

It was great staying with...

Great experience, the breakfast selection could be a little better but overall it was okay for a quick hold you over
- 5/5
Great Residence Inn!
- 5/5
All of the staff was polite, patient, helpful and when out of their way to help you.
- 5/5
I'm not understanding why the shower heads dont move. The water gets everywhere because there is only a stationary half glass door. Looks fancy but isnt functional.
- 5/5
I've used this hotel for animazement, Supercon and Galaxycon. The rooms are well kept, staff are friendly and helpful, and the parking is a time saver. The convenience of being able to walk right next door to the convention center can't be overstated. It's close enough to be in the middle of the fun but far enough away to get away and take a break when you need it without having to drive. This has been our go-to hotel for years.
- 5/5
The service was prompt, friendly and knowledgeable. The front desk helped us navigate to our event. The room was clean and spacious. The decor was inviting. The breakfast was good.

Staff was great and food was good. Only issue was staff not letting us know when our food was delivered and the water pressure was non-existent. Took 20 minutes for hot water.

Wry well laid out hotel in an excellent location. Expensive but it was worth it. Comfortable. Breakfast was very nice! Parking garage could use some signage. The food in the rooftop bar was poor… staff there need training on how to wait tables…. Dropping an ’F’ bomb when delivering our order was weird and unprofessional

Clean room and good breakfast

It should be made more clear that the parking is in the garage attached to the hotel and is not included. The fee is relatively substantial at $22/night. However, despite rain, we are completely undercover from our room to our car. The garage is also used for events, but there are parking places reserved for hotel guests even during the busiest events. One other thing that isn't obvious is to get into the garage you need to scan your key, not at the place where it says to scan your pass, but after that where it is marked "room key". You think that is obvious now... but first timers are likely to press the wrong button! The room was very clean and the A/C worked, but was a bit muggy. The bathroom mirror fogged up during a brief shower and did not clear until the door was opened. The bathroom is spotless but the toilet paper was just barely within reach. The valve for the faucet is at the opposite end of the shower. It was different, but there was no problem with this arrangement. As others have said, the lights around the mirror leave a bit to be desired. It was fine, the other room has other mirrors. Despite these oddities, the hotel was outstanding overall and we would definitely return if we come to downtown Raleigh again.

My stay at the Residence Inn Raleigh Downtown was amazing. I stayed 9 nights and loved it. The room was extremely clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was always great with many options to choose from. The staff at this property are super friendly and helpful. The location is also great and within walking distance to many restaurants and shops. I will definitely stay here again when in Raleigh.

Clean room, pretty quiet. Breakfast was good, great variety of food, fruits could have been a little fresher, otherwise excellent. Friendly staff throughout our stay.
- 4/5
Staff was friendly overall. Bar staff drink making skills were quite different from bartender to bartender. One young man who has been there for a while was quite good but then the young lady making drinks later, not so much. She didnt seem to care as much as was just putting stuff in, not really caring about the drink itself.

The shower had low pressure at 7PM. After maintenance checked it, it continued to drip all night. Otherwise, it was very nice and clean.
- 5/5
The room was perfect: spacious, clean, modern, comfortable and quiet. The staff were friendly and professional. The breakfast was wonderful both days. Parking on site was convenient. Location is great.
- 5/5
The entire staff of the hotel was friendly. Everyone we encountered was nice, helpful and genuine. Room was nice and very clean.
- 5/5
Clean room, super nice staff, great breakfast, nice restaurants and very close to concert venues. My new go to place for downtown.
- 4/5
Cons: no hooks for clothes in bathroom, sliding door with no lock on bathroom and shower only had half door. No pool.
- 4/5
Room was great. Rooftop appetizers were delicious. Coffee shop was great. But breakfast closed at 9:30 am and we didn’t know. We thought it was 10:00. We walked in at 9:35 with two children ready to eat, and the staff was so rude to us and told us we couldn’t get breakfast (even though there was plenty left.) They didn’t even give us a chance to say anything. It was crazy.
- 5/5
room was clean, breakfast was great, staff in the restaurant and check-in were friendly!
- 5/5
Great room and location
- 5/5
Room exceeded expectations!
- 5/5
The room was spacious, breakfast was great, staff were friendly
- 5/5
Room was perfect, awesome to have a cooktop to make my coffee in the morning! Beautiful area and views
- 5/5
The room was fabulous.
- 5/5
Parking was good heavy security so if you didn’t stay there then you was being turned around . Awesome and very clean Room Bar was awesome.
- 5/5
The room was spacious, comfortable and clean with a nice view. The hotel is centrally located near cultural venues within short walking distance. I suggest checking Uber/Lyft before asking the hotel to book a taxi as it was double the cost and I was misled by reception, ultimately paying double for my ride to the airport. This was very disappointing.
- 5/5
On site parking. Walkable area so your car can rest during your stay. Excellent breakfast. Spacious and clean room.
- 5/5
Absolutely loved my stay and will definitely choose this hotel again.
- 5/5
Great place to stay! The staff was helpful and super friendly. It’s located conveniently to the amphitheater which we went to for a show. Parking on site allowed us to park and walk everywhere. The hotel is located close to some great places to eat and there are 2 places to eat inside the hotel. The free breakfast was excellent! Our hotel room was HUGE and had great views of the city. We were located by the ice machine which we were at first worried about but we didn’t hear any outside noise. Definitely will be making this a go to place to stay when I’m in Raleigh!
- 5/5
Our second time staying here. We love it!
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
An excellent property!
- 5/5
Perfect location, great restaurants, polite & helpful desk, staff, clean room, spacious room, short walk to everything.
- 5/5
Amazing services and amazing location to travel all around Raleigh. Breakfast was nice and if it got to late the dinner menu was good too.
- 3/5
Nice
- 5/5
Very clean and comfortable. Staff were very professional and courteous.
- 5/5
Hotel is conveniently located across the street from the Raleigh Convention Center, and plenty of restaurants are within easy walking distance. The room was quiet and spacious, with a good work desk, comfortable chairs, and ample cloths storage areas. Great breakfast!! The room was serviced every day.
- 5/5
Will definitely be coming back!
- 4/5
Nick, server at restaurant, was very accommodating and enjoyable to be around. The staff in breakfast food room were very friendly and helpful. However, the one downside is our room was serviced during the three night stay. Had to ask front desk staff for wash rags and toilet paper.
- 5/5
Our stay was perfect . Came to see a group at the Red Hat which is just steps away from the hotel. Susan at the front desk was amazing. We only stayed one night but will definitely stay here again and will recommend to friends.
- 5/5
I was impressed. Nice place that was clean and great breakfast selections
- 5/5
We were going to a concert at the red hat amphitheater, and the location could not have been better! Only issue we had was that there was a little bit of Old on the ceiling in the room near the air conditioner vent, which we reported to the front desk at checkout. It was likely due to condensation from the AC unit. Other than that, it was perfect!
- 1/5
went to galaxy Con and it was great the hotel was another story. first 2 nights were ok no issues but on Saturday night we returned to find out that the AC unit was not working. Called and they said someone would be up to fix it no one ever showed up and it was 82 at 2am with zero air flow no one could sleep. checked out on Sunday told them I wanted to file a complaint about the room they said they would have a manager contact me. went back to galaxy con and 2 hours later they hit me with a 150-dollar pet fee I called and ask what that was and the stated they had proof that I had a pet in the room. I knew that was a lie as we did not have any pets. went back to the hotel and talked to the manager they removed the fee but said they could not refund me on the room for that night because I booked using hotels.com. they gave me 5000 points on their web site that would be about 65$ worth of points I called them back and they doubled the points so about 130$ worth, that has to be used with them and on their website. for 340$ a night you expect AC and not some retaliatory charge when your complaint that it had no ac.
- 5/5
Dining with view, fare price overall and walkable
- 5/5
Room great - very comfortable. I got in later but was still able to grab dinner in the hotel and take it to my room. Late check out was not a problem
- 5/5
Great customer service! All staff we interacted with were friendly and professional. Room was clean and well equipped- full kitchen with utensils, regular size fridge. Bed was comfortable. There was a larger than average bathroom with standing shower -very nice. Parking was paid ($18/day), but very convenient. Hotel breakfast had variety and was very good in comparison to other competing hotels in area. Went to concert at Red Hat Ampitheater- literally a short walk to venue. Great location for visiting downtown Raleigh. Rooftop bar was a great added benefit. Highly recommend. Only downside was lack of safe in room.
- 5/5
Very nice
- 5/5
Great hotel. Staff very helpful. 5 stars 🌟
- 5/5
Thevstay was amazing over all. If every Residnce In by Bonvoy Marriot is this nice, they have a customer for life in my family
- 5/5
We had an issue and they moved us with no question
- 5/5
It was wonderful and the staff was professional.

- 5/5
Great place to stay in downtown Raleigh.
- 5/5
The lady at the front desk for our check-in on Tuesday afternoon was wonderful. Very nice and friendly and took care of us really quickly. We were able to check in a few hours early. The room was really nice. The beds were soooo comfortable. Will definitely be keeping this hotel in mind next time I’m in Raleigh!
- 5/5
It was a pleasant stay
- 5/5
Very kind staff and beautiful rooms. Plenty of space for my family of four. Convenient access to the convention center and restaurants. Covered parking with bridge access to the building.
- 5/5
Excellent location! Great restaurants inside and easy parking
- 4/5
Everything was great, the location was a bit on the outskirts of town and had to wait over an hour to check in so i gave them 1 less star.
- 5/5
Thank you very much to the staff for their help, patience and care we received! My wife and I will definitely choose the Marriot Residence Inn again
- 5/5
Great location and value!
- 5/5
Had a great stay at a great location! Check in was easy, fast and the ladies were very friendly and helpful. Check out was just as smooth. Room was great, loved having all the space!
- 5/5
Clean quiet and next to the convention center, what I dislike was the exhaust fan in the bathroom didn't work also the shower was hard to work properly, everything else was wonderful
- 5/5
.
- 5/5
Great place. I've stay there 3 times. Great views from the roof and even the rooms.
- 5/5
Clean and easy to find. Very near the Raleigh Convention Center
- 5/5
Great location for downtown Raleigh events. Lots of fun things that are walkable distance and others a short drive. Nice room and great rooftop bar/restaurant. Perfect location if going to a show at Martin Marietta Center or Red Hat Amphitheater.
- 5/5
The food at The Overlook restaurant it is really good and the drinks too. Front desk check-in was really fast. Walkable to Convention and the Mario Marietta performance of art. Will recommend.
- 5/5

I’ve never written a review for anything but I was very compelled to do so after my stay at the Residence Inn Raleigh Downtown! The staff was so welcoming and accommodating. From the front desk, to the housekeepers, to the kitchen staff everyone was genuinely welcoming, attentive, & helpful! Anytime I needed anything they were quick to assist me & also were invested if I needed anything else. The food was very good I enjoyed breakfast each day and the Rooftop terrace was beautiful. Moved the layout and the scenery. The vibes were immaculate! The room was beautiful very clean & just a great layout. Bed was comfortable my friends and I enjoyed our suite! The Hotel is in great area surrounded by numerous food options & a beautiful city. I stayed for Dreamville Fest, this was my 4th year going and 1st time at this Hotel. Not only was this the best hotel I’ve been to attending the festival but this was the best hotel I’ve been to ever! And I travel quite often but this was hotel in every aspect is wonderful! I definitely will be staying here again for the next festival in Raleigh & I will definitely make future visits just so I can have another experience at this amazing hotel!
- 4/5
The food in the restaurant was very good. The breakfast had healthy options, which is important to me. The staff was very friendly. The hotel was quiet. Except for the very occasional ambulance going but we didn’t hear street noise. I would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Amazing! Solo trip & felt very comfortable! Can’t wait to come again!! Felt like a comfortable apartment
- 5/5
Having a floor that takes you from garage right into the hotel makes you feel much safer.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
We had a great stay on New Years Eve! Definitely would recommend this hotel!
- 5/5
No question, we would stay there again. It was cold that night and we still enjoyed the night on the outside deck with the blanket and heater they provided. And a great hot alcoholic drink they recommended.
- 5/5
Great location if one is going to the Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts and a wonderful helpful staff. All good!
- 5/5
Room was extremely clean and staff was so helpful. Will definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Definitely would stay again!
- 5/5
Great food and bar.
- 5/5
Great staff, very safe, and clean!
- 5/5
Was a very nice stay
- 5/5
We loved having such a large and unique suite. It was very convenient. We were able to entertain our colleagues who were at the same conference. The only thing missing is a swimming pool!
- 5/5
We stayed here for 2 nights and loved it! The beds were so comfortable. I loved the blackout curtains too. It had a great gym and dining options too.
- 3/5
Also, I was unaware there would be an charged an additional $20.00 above the word $259.00/night rate for my Friday night stay. This was not clarified beforehand. The night stand and area above it needed dusting. Also the air filter needed changing. Stale odor in room
- 5/5
Check in was easy and went smoothly! They offer parking for $18 which requires your hotel card to access. Convenient and in a great location near multiple things!
- 5/5
Hotel was perfectly located to amphitheater. We went to the roof top bar for drinks and apps before the show- our waitress was great and the food/drinks were awesome!
- 5/5
First time staying here but it won't be the last. We were attending a concert at Red Hat Amphitheatre and the hotel location couldn't have been more convenient. A five minute walk and you're there. The parking deck attached to the hotel has a level reserved for the hotel guests, with a breezeway connected to the hotel. Again super convenient. The included breakfast buffet had a good variety of options and the staff was very nice and attentive both at breakfast and at the front desk. The room was spacious and clean. Having a full fridge/microwave was nice for food leftovers. My only suggestion is to make the nightly fee lower so I can afford to stay longer. Just kidding!
- 1/5
Terrible room service. Took away my used towels but didn’t leave any replacements. Bed was half made, garbage cans still full of garbage.
- 5/5
Thank you for a great stay!
- 5/5
Customer service was great.
- 5/5
Loved this hotel. Short walk to Red Hat. Room was clean, large, and comfortable bed. Will stay here again.
- 5/5
My only caution is that if you are sensitive to scents, the lobby especially and the halls (not the rooms) are fairly heavily scented. I'm really sensitive and would have preferred there was no scent, but it was not a problem in our actual room at least.
- 4/5
Perfect hotel to stay overnight after watching a concert at Red Hat Amphitheater.
- 5/5
Amazing stay. This will be my go to place to stay in Raleigh
- 5/5
This the second time we have stayed here. We had such a good experience the first time (which was years ago) that we wanted to stay here again. It was just as exceptional as it was then. The room was very clean and comfortable; it had everything you could possibly need. The staff was so nice and accomodating. We look forward to the time when we can stay here again and stay longer.
- 5/5
Friendly fast check-in. Perfect location for the amphitheater. Most definitely will be staying again
- 3/5
The place itself was nice, but it was almost $600 a night for a basic hotel. I also walked around the neighborhood a bit, and it’s not a nice neighboorhood.
- 5/5
The room had a slight odor but the staff was amazing and everything else was absolutely wonderful.
- 5/5
Nice kitchen.
- 5/5
Friendly staff and very comfortable
- 5/5
The staff was great, room was as expected. Wonderful property!
- 5/5
It was clean. But I think the sheets are not, they smell.
- 4/5
Great location, nice rooms, poor breakfast set up. No lobby coffee available, and (very comprehensive) breakfast doesn't start till 0700. Unsat for business location.
- 5/5
Loved it, very cozy
- 4/5
A bit over priced in my opinion
- 5/5
Great location, easy parking, clean, great staff! Will stay again!
- 5/5
The room provided an ideal workspace for daytime productivity. Despite being near a busy street, the soundproofing was excellent, ensuring that outside traffic noise was barely perceptible, creating a peaceful and focused environment.
- 3/5
We were given an ADA room which we did not book nor request at check in. The vanity was not usable (drawers and no place for a chair) and the shower had to be hand held to use. There was no place to hang the hand held shower head. We paid over $400 for one night and got a view of the top of a parking deck. The in-room coffee amenity tray was that of a 1 star hotel. Service in the restaurants was top notch, but I hesitate to stay here again due to the quality of the room.
- 5/5
Excellent service and convenience
- 4/5
Highly recommend. Comfortable beds and pillows
- 5/5
great hotel
- 2/5
I was surprised that bottled water was not in the room. They charge $3.00 at front desk for it. Most hotels provide that complimentary, especially considering how expensive the hotel is. The water pressure in the shower was very weak also.
- 4/5
Close to DT.
- 5/5
The stay was nice and quiet. The room was clean and comfortable. The front desk staff and the restaurant staff was attentive. My only issue was the first day there was a bad smell by the upstairs restaurant.
- 5/5
Lovely place!
- 5/5
The staff was attentive and very friendly. Location was great!
- 5/5
The room was very spacious. The extra fold out allowed an area for my son to be comfortable. Breakfast options were excellent. Definitely recommend staying here if you attending any events at the convention center.
- 5/5
The place and staff was above average
- 3/5
Room was pretty clean we did find a sock from a previous tenant so that leaves room for question on how clean the room was the front desk staff was great could do better with communication between staff on help with parking
- 5/5
Beautiful rooms with a lot of space and a small kitchen. The beds, extremely comfortable, were in a separate room which was nice for those wanting to sleep in later. For those with an aversion to strong scents beware. There was a very strong vanilla scent throughout the building, although not in the room.
- 5/5
Wonderful get away spot with lots around to do
- 4/5
We enjoyrd our weekend stay here. We were within walking distance of everything we came to see and felt very safe. Our room was immaculate, as was the rest of the hotel. We would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Convenient to convention center.
- 4/5
Neighbors were a little loud…
- 5/5
Very very good service
- 5/5
Great location and a well kept hotel. Definitely worth staying if you are in downtown Raleigh
