Thanks for a wonderful stay.

The property is absolutely beautiful, the ocean views are breathtaking and makes you slow down. We loved how family-friendly it is. Staff was nice and everyone we encountered was kind, welcoming and genuinely helpful. From spa to dining to simply walking the property, every part of our stay felt effortless. My only complaint is we called ahead of time to request rooms near each other and were asked to provide all reservation confirmation numbers so notes could be added to the system. Based on those conversations, we felt confident that every effort would be made to accommodate the request. Unfortunately after checked in, our rooms weren’t even on the same floor. While we understand requests can’t always be guaranteed, better communication and expectation-setting would have been appreciated.

Property was breathtaking. While we were there, a huge tent was being erected and it took 3 days, 6am to 7pm, constant beeping, loud banging, very annoying. Otherwise, it’s an amazing place.

Catalina kitchen gave us the worst meal I think I’ve ever had. The food tasted like bleach and chemicals and the fish tasted like dirt. It was expensive and disgusting.

We have been coming to Terranea since they opened. We have brought our families there so many times and it is always amazing there. The service was very nice although very slow at the spa. We didn’t get any service by the pool for two hours till I said something. We got a free upgrade, which was very nice however I was Shocked to see the patio furniture was beaten up with some chairs burned by the fireplace. It makes me a little sad that the property is not maintained as it once was.

We booked a Casita room for a 3 day weekend for our last trip before we have our first baby. I didn’t put any notes or anything on what we were there for, but when we checked in we were informed we had been upgraded to an oceanfront suite. We were blown away by this room. It was massive and had multiple balconies to sit on and enjoy the views. We ended up spending most of our time in the room because it was just the best. We did go to the adult pool and another quiet pool that were both very nice. Megan at the vista pool was great! We had breakfast at the Catalina kitchen a few times which was great. The room service was great. I do wish I had done a little more research and made reservations for the other restaurants on site as they were booked. Overall it was an amazing place and we were so thankful they upgraded us, we didn’t want to leave!

We’ve been to terranea multiple times and this one sadly will be our last. I reached out regarding the not so great stay, and no response. We checked in and there was a large baby crib in our room. We called multiple times for them to remove it, it sat there for both nights, not until I asked housekeeping when they came to the room for cleaning did someone actually remove it. Service was also terrible. We got there and wanted to just lay by the pool and watch the view and we asked a server knowing the bar closed by the pool in 30 minutes if we could get in a quick drink order, she dismissed us saying she’d return to take our order and never came back, and then we were told we had to go somewhere else to get drinks. Dinner service at one of the restaurants took so long, we never said a word, they took half off the bil. Breakfast on the final day, was a bit chilly but being from Chicago we wanted to enjoy outside. I asked the host if the heater outside could be turned on, she said of course, we also asked our server, who once she took our order was never seen from again, this was a buffet breakfast and only after almost an hour and a half later someone came running out with all the bills apologizing. This was bad, on all levels. We stayed at the maybourne in Beverly Hills, and that’s what real customer service should look like. I never leave reviews but they just don’t care at terranea it’s about volume and money for them, definitely not about people.

On the other hand, room furniture was old, room was consistently not made up until early evening hours, phone calls for hotel services were not answered for up to 10 minutes, daily parking fees were unreasonably high.

The Resort is nice, but terrible service :( if u wanted something literally 5 to 10 min on the phone on hold for them to answer. Staff cero friendly! And really disappointing that we booked an Ocean View Bungalow and we had a Tree View instead! Not a piece of blue! It was building 40 and bungalow 402! The spa is nice though! But wouldn’t come back unfortunately… cero cero customer service and didn’t feel welcomed whatsoever….

Quick birthday trip from LA, loved everything about the hotel. Food & cocktails do not disappoint. The cielo pool is also a little slice of heaven.

Service was excellent and staff were very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The pool was picture perfect with the beautiful views of the ocean and stunning landscapes. Our bungalow room had two French doors that opened to a view of the ocean, perfect for taking in the cool breeze. We enjoyed the resort and will visit again! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We stayed in a 3 bedroom villa and it was perfect for a family. Complete with gorgeous views, private outdoor seating, and breathtaking views. Equipped with everything we need for the week.

Wow, I stayed at the property for a conference but I can’t wait to go back for personal travel. Absolutely beautiful and so luxurious.

Otherwise, the resort is lovely. The staff are very friendly. We enjoyed a morning guided coastal hike with Morgan and Christos and also found the falcon talk very interesting.

Between Isaac being an amazing chauffeur and super knowledgeable about the area to Kai to having amazing recommendations this place is the way to go!!! My husband, daughter and myself had everything we needed. We felt completely at home and can’t wait to come back.

This is a beautiful property, loved the pool and the villas were nicely equipped. Everything was comfortable. You have to valet park which makes it difficult to go anywhere off property. The villas are a long walk with suitcases. The room was beautiful but needed a little touch up for the price.

The property is beautiful. The views are beautiful. The hotel and the rooms seem a bit outdated. The AC in our room didn’t work. The refrigerator that they had in the room just looked old bathroom was underwhelming some dirty tiles cracked tiles front desk. Staff was an amazing the people cleaning the property had way better service and we’re way friendlier spa staff wasn’t friendly. I think it’s because I’m a younger person, but I was not treated amazing.

The reason that I didn't give 5 stars is that the bed was too soft and not comfortable. Also, the trash can was not emptied when we first checked into the room. Overall, we had a wonderful time and will consider going back to the resort.

The location is beautiful! The food was horrible and the service/staff really lacked. It took 45+ min for breakfast and even longer for lunch. The pool was understaffed making it hard to get drinks/food. Staff lacked responsiveness to basic requests. Staff acknowledged anniversary at check in but no gift was sent to room. Room out dated for the price. Did not expect an “ocean view” room to be facing the resort pool, which was really loud.

Went here for local staycation. Awesome place didn’t realize they had holiday event and it turned out perfect for children. Expedia always gives the worst rooms when booking but the hotel was able to provide us for what we paid for. It was great. The staff was amazing starting from parking to vallet, bell desk and front desk everyone was the kindest.

The was not a fireplace and the coffee was stuck under the bathroom sink. Because the room did not have much of a view we did not have room service any time during our stay. The shower was small and tight and the doors to the toilet room and bathroom touced when you swung them.

Cons - Showed up three hours before check-in at 1 PM wasn’t able to check in until 3:50 PM which would be 10 minutes before the check-in time, for a place that prides itself on customer service I think not making the customer wait till exactly 10 minutes before would have been ideal. Turn down service staff will enter if you do not have a do not disturb sign on.

First class service all the way. From the Valet, the Porter, to the front desk agent. To the well appointed room and magnificent view. We felt like invited family. We are spending our night here. Thank you for making it an unforgettable experience. Thank you 🙏❤️

The property was amazing and the staff was great. Expedia had the wrong description for the bungalow that I booked. Autumn at the front desk rectified the problem with a comparable suite. My luggage and room service took over 2 hours to arrive. The room service was comped to make up for the untimely delivery. Leaving the resort at time of checkout was also a headache. The wait for valet to retrieve my car was excessive, there was no water available while we waited and as soon as I got in my car I was completely blocked in for an additional 15 minutes. The resort is an extraordinary place but looks as if there maybe staffing issues.

My time at the resort was absolutely beautiful. The scenery was stunning, and the atmosphere was so peaceful and relaxing. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure everything was taken care of. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the food was excellent with plenty of options to choose from. Whether it was lounging by the pool, enjoying the views, or just unwinding, every moment felt like a true escape. I can’t wait to go back—it was the perfect getaway.

Spectacular! My partner and I celebrated our anniversary here at Terrenea, and we were well taken care of! Great amenities, attentive staff and service, clean and beautiful facilities, gorgeous views. Will certainly be back again!

A gorgeous property that is so well run, with all the amenities you could need and a very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff.

Staff communicated with me weeks prior to visit on preference, was able to have ease from directions, parking, checking in and restaurant servers. Staff have genuine greetings with happy eyes.

Had the impression that decorating needed to be refreshed. Also noticed some failures to clean exteriors. The same leaves and twigs were on the deck the entire stay and the exterior indicated a lack of maintenance. There was a 10-15 foot long rust stain on an exterior wall below a pipe.

Beautiful setting, gorgeous grounds. Much to like. Many dining options -- which is good because there are few in the area. Some of the administrative follow up was lacking. Attention to the details would have made our stay nearly perfect. (i.e. though we mentioned it, never recognized our 40th anniversary, huge mistake on the bill, pillows on bed inadequate)

Breezy, amazing views, great music, so many venues in the resort - truly something for everyone. Loved the terrace, the nightly bands, the vistas, even the morning coffee felt like a treat- loved Nelson’s and the adult pool and the trails. Looking forward to returning

That said, there are a few areas that could use some improvement to make the stay even better. With a bit more attention to detail in certain aspects such as, the dinner service at Catalina kitchen can improve as we waited for a while for our dinner and our server did not come and ask us or at least mention to us how long more it will . I was really excited about dinner as I was celebrating my parents for fifth anniversary. Overall, this resort could easily go from great to exceptional. Looking forward to visiting again soon!

Good tire great people well

One night is never enough… but so glad we had the chance to catch up with old friends for dinner at Bashi, enjoy some time at the pool and finish off our stay with the spectacular Catalina Kitchen Sunday brunch.

When we finally got into our room, it wasn’t as clean as we expected and there was a noticeable odor. We called the front desk, but since they were at full capacity, no room change was possible. The view, however, was beautiful—that was one of the highlights. That evening, we tried to dine at the hotel restaurants around 6 p.m., only to find there was no availability for the night. We ended up having to go off property for dinner. When we returned, the odor in the room was still present, but we were too tired to deal with it further. The next day, our kids were excited to swim, but the pool was overcrowded and, unfortunately, very dirty. There was hair floating around and the water looked cloudy, likely from sunscreen. We hope this was just due to the busy holiday weekend and not the hotel’s usual standard, but overall, we left feeling disappointed.

However somehow the gratuity on one of our receipts at the family pool was changed without our knowledge, which we find to be totally unacceptable. At check out hotel tried to claim that they automatically charge 18% on every receipt, but the hotel needs to be transparent on any automatically applied gratuity on receipts which it wasn’t in this case. Lastly, yesterday I was served undercooked rubbery chicken at the Catalina kitchen which the staff were just as appalled about as I was. Now dealing with the beginning symptoms of food poisoning, how severe that will become I do not know. Very disappointing overall.

Gorgeous setting Came here 10 years ago, was fantastic. This time place was poorly managed , dirty in all public places , had too many guests for seats around pool . No Lifeguard in pool with loads of very small kids . Rude restaurant staff. Loud music outside our room as a wedding was taking place at night . The place is shabby and ratty. Needs a good refurb. Was just a miserable experience

My Ocean view room had a tree blocking the balcony and view so had to go back to the front desk and stand in line a 2nd time to change rooms. The staff was more than accommodating to help correct things but was just a lot to go through for a one night stay.

To her credit, the Guest Services Manager approached us, apologized sincerely, and acknowledged that this was not reflective of their usual valet service. However, first impressions matter greatly, and this experience fell short of the high standards one would expect from a resort of this caliber.

We have been coming here for years. The customer service Judy got better. Even the maids and maintenance crew were pleasantly friendly. We extended our stay. You will enjoy their nightly live music entertainment to end the day.

This is an exceptional property - in the top 5 we’ve stayed at world wide. The entertainment is top notch. The one negative is that the pools were overrun with people. That wasn’t really a big deal, but they had one guy trying to wait on all of the people around one pool (over 100 people). So our first drink took 35 minutes, our second drink took 40 minutes, and our third drink took 45. We just decided to leave, and we would’ve hung out longer had been decent service. It wasn’t this guy‘s fault, it was just an incredible lack of staffing.

My casita was nice but I thought the rooms would be bigger for the price point. When I went to Nelson’s twice, the staff seemed chaotic and less than friendly. The staff didn’t look happy. Looked easily annoyed.

Terranea is the ultimate staycation. It’s a beautiful resort, excellent staff and exceptional service.

The hotel was fantastic. We did need to check our bill tab as three of us all had charges that were not accurate on our room charge. Other people were using our room numbers at the same time that we were using them and other locations. The hotel was great and they were able to clean this up but just check your bill before you check out.

Of course, beaches arent as clear, warm, and swimmable as Waikiki, but the views are spectacular and close. The staff and service are top-notch and Aloha-ish.

Resort is beautiful with lots of options for food. Double beds in room (not Queen) made it a little tight for a full family. Parking charge of $72/night is absurd. Fourth of July event was overpriced and drone show was hidden behind a building. Overall everything is a little too spendy ($95 buffet, $90 golf) but the resort is so beautiful that it's still a lovely time.

Rachel is one of those rare individuals who instantly puts you at ease. She’s intelligent, gracious, and incredibly affable, and she leads with a spirit of genuine hospitality that radiates throughout the entire staff. It’s clear that her influence sets a high standard—not just for service, but for the overall guest experience. She made our stay all the more enjoyable and peaceful, and we left feeling both refreshed and deeply appreciative. Terranea is a gem in every sense—from its coastal views and luxurious amenities to the sense of calm it provides. But it’s people like Rachel who elevate it from simply being a beautiful resort to being a place you genuinely want to return to again and again. Thank you to the entire Terranea team—and especially to Rachel—for making our family getaway so memorable.

Ive stayed here several times for conferences so I brought my family for the weekend. It wasn't what I expected. Everything took way longer than expected. Bummer.

Being at Terranea made me feel very good.

Lines for check in, check out, and luggage storage were long. Need more staffing there. Also we were checked into the wrong room with someone already staying there. Had to call front desk to bring keys to the correct room and did not even get a simple apology.

The resort and food was lovely. Our room didn't have the sheets changed which was unfortunate, but they gave us a nice credit and changed our room quickly. Otherwise it was fantastic. Would stay again.

Couples massages in a beautiful ocean front room with the ocean crashing in the distance, absolutely breathtaking! We used to live in RPV and were one of the early clients to dine at the property. We actually almost dined there every weekend because we want the resort to thrive. We have since moved away and this was our first stay at the resort. Our room has an extremely slow bathroom sink drainage which we didn't anticipate for such a beautiful resort. We dined at the Catalina Kitchen, and was a little disappointed with my order of pork chop, which I thought was a little undercooked. The pork smell was pungent and the middle was a little too pink for my enjoyment. When I told the waiter, he said the chef cooked it "medium". He did offer to take it back and recook to the temperature I want. But we already waited too long for the meal and too tired to wait for a replacement. The waiter should have seen that I barely touch my meat at all and only finished the slaw and some fries. We ordered two dessert, maybe he could have offered one complimentary dessert or coffee. Anyway, we love the resort, but this stay experience was not as enjoyable as we anticipated.

Everything was amazing except the sound of the AC next door. They had the AC on all night long, so the noise was something that I was not satisfied. However, the cleanliness of the hotel and comfort was great. Staffs were all friendly. And, we enjoyed the Crabby Sunday meal!

Everything was great. Minor mis- communication between staff on rose peddles on the bed, a surprise for the wife, but concierge made things right at the end. Alan the manager at Vista pool made us feel welcomed and took care of our pool side needs. Jay Jay the waiter at Catalina kitchen provided excellent service and suggestions when it came to our lunch. The In room breakfast came fast and hot just the way breakfast should be. We had the breakfast burrito and it was delicious. One is enough for two but we weren't sure so we ordered 2. We didn't have much of a view from our room but the whole resort did and it was beautiful, relaxing, and peaceful. Definitely thinking about returning with the family this time and getting the 1 or 2 room bungalow next time. Thank you to all the staff and Deb from concierge.

This was the perfect staycation.

Whatever the staff positions, all were helpful and friendly. More personnel is needed in the lounge and drop off areas: very long waits. Bathroom faucet leaks; I would expect this to not be the case.

Really beautiful property- feels like a Hawaiian resort. Our room was nice- opened to pool area. It was a very busy weekend for Mother's Day so service was a bit slow but I think just due to the holiday. Our family had a nice time and would be back.

The room I booked was ocean view but I got garden view there was a little area on the left with ocean view. I had to pay $100 extra to get an ocean view room and the room didn’t have coffee maker which the first one had one. This is not right, I paid more than $700 to stay less than 20 hrs The lounge bar made extra charges, luckily I noticed and waived the charges. It’s a very nice and unique place.
