The hotel needs renovations. It looks rundown, the elevator was not in service, and the interior reeks of cigarette smoke. There was a large police presence in the parking lot, with some shady characters hanging around. It was convenient having the Tesla Supercharger on site, and the breakfast was decent. Other than that, we would not recommend this hotel.

Before arriving at the hotel, I tried calling about 25 times because of urgent personal issues, but no one answered. When I finally checked in, I noticed that the hotel was old and had a musty odor that was poorly masked by an air freshener. I confronted the front desk agent about my attempts to reach them. They informed me that the previous shift had turned off the phones, and they were unaware of the situation. I also contacted my third-party vendors who handled my reservations, but they insisted that they could do nothing regarding the hotel’s lack of communication. Overall, this was unequivocally the worst experience I’ve ever had.
- 1.5/5
Not really anything. We couldn’t check in at the regular check in time. Everything felt dirty, the breakfast wasn’t good at all. The person at the front desk wouldn’t let me check in for all the rooms I booked at once and made me get back in line

Elevator out of order, rooms without body wash and hand soap and an interesting collection of characters working there.

I liked everything about the place. The gentleman on Night Shift was very friendly. I had talked to him a couple months ago about having a dog and it was swell taken care of.

Flies in the breakfast area. So didn't eat breakfast. The room didn't look clean either and we were assigned room in the basement. Morning staff were good but have nothing to say about the night staff.

Road noise

There was a fire alarm, the night attendant did a great job alerting residents y running thru the halls to warm people to evacuate Road noise
- 0.5/5
Could not use heat because of dust on coils. Room next to us turned on heat at midnight. Set off fire alarm and we all had to evacuate to parking lot for 45 minutes while fire department figured out what was wrong.

First I was charged twice for my dog for a one night stay. Then my room was cold when I moved in. Now this was 9;00 pm and you're ready to go to bed after driving all day so it takes awhile to heat up. after sleeping a bit you wake up sweating because of trying to heat the room up quick on 80F. To top it off breakfast time coffee pot was empty with no one around to fill it.
- 5/5
Room was very clean, and the staff was extremely courteous. Breakfast on both days was outstanding. Only drawback was I requested a 6am wake-up call on Sunday morning, and it didn't happen. However, I consider that minor. I would stay there again.
- 5/5

The front desk person at check in was very nice. However, when my wifi didn’t work, she just gave me the phone number for the internet service provider. Also had some sketchy stains on my sheets and the shower was lukewarm at best.

Recently updated hotel. Very clean and quiet. Spacious rooms. Very comfortable overall. Free breakfast was adequate -eggs, sausage, toast, cereal. Would have liked more fresh fruit. We had rooms #201 and #202. Plenty of fast food dining options nearby.

- 5/5
Staff was very friendly and helpful
- 3/5
Breakfast was very limited due to large tour group and many items not available, such as milk for cereal. Even coffee urn and juice empty. Had to go to front desk to ask for service
- 4/5
Staff were friendly and helpful. Smoking area was too close to entrance.
- 5/5
Conveniently located, we found this hotel in the middle of a cold rainy night while heading to DC on motorcycles.
- 5/5
ROOM WAS CLEAN STAFF WAS FRIENDLY. I WOULD DEFINATELY STAY AGAIN IF I EVER GO BACK TO VIRGINIA
- 2/5
If you travel with a dog that you refuse to leash and that barks all day and you don’t care about anyone other than yourself then this is the hotel for you.
- 4/5
IT WAS GOOD
- 5/5
Great over all
- 3/5
Very close to George Washington National Park
- 5/5
Very convenient to hwy
- 3/5
Felt like a truck stop. Few amenities okay cleanliness dingy. Paid extra for a better comfort inn. Big mistake and I got 2rooms!
- 4/5
Good place for a stop while traveling north. Sink drain was extremely slow to drain. My husband tried to unclog it because he is a retired maintenance man but it needed drano. Front desk attendant tried to find some but there wasn’t any on the property. He did offer for us to change rooms but it was late after a long day of travel so we just stayed in that room.
- 3/5
2-3 star hotel. It is showing its age. The POOL area was great. The beds/pillows great. Room had a musty smell and you could smell cigarette smoke. No wonder bc the employees smoke and linger outside. They are not the required 25 feet from the building
- 3/5
The staff was friendly. This property is dated. The beds and pillows were great, the pool was great. The room itself is in need of some paint and caulking in the bathrooms. It is showing its age. There are SO many smokers in this part of the state. The employees are outside smoking often and it smells horrible and they are NOT the required 25 feet from the building. I find this offensive. They hang outside to chat and smoke. YUCK!
- 4/5
Quiet stay with beautiful Mountain View’s.
- 3/5
Room was adequate. Air worked but room smelled smoky.
- 4/5
Great convenient location right off the interstate. Only 1 mile down the road from Rockbridge Winery & Brewery. Very friendly staff! Love being able to bring our dog with us for a minimal addition fee.
- 4/5
Budget friendly, clean, comfortable beds, pet friendly, views of the blue ridge mountains, kind and consider staff, close proximity to Shenandoah.
- 5/5
I was surprised at how clean it was. Pool was great after a long trip. Staff friendly. Very convenient. Hotel is aging but is taken care of. Would definitely stay here again
- 4/5
Clean and comfortable bed and room. Three complaints: 1) Moldy smell in room 2) Breakfast was definitely “lacking”: No scrambled eggs upon arrival; we were there 30 minutes, never refilled (there had been a large contingent of linemen in the hotel overnight, probably for a mutual aid “storm response”. Nevertheless, without question, the innkeepers / owners had a responsibility to address this obvious increased demand on services by bringing in more workers - there was ONE person working the breakfast area!) 3) Nice balcony with a table and two chairs, beautiful mountain view … but the sliding door was permanently locked! So not only were we unable to enjoy the balcony, one of two egress points was eliminated!
- 4/5
beautiful mountian view
- 4/5
Nice space could use a updated makeover paint etc but nice stay close to good things
- 3/5
On the other side of the highway; which seemed to be the only high point. You get what you pay for. The bathroom sink faucet moved around. Most of the remote buttons for the television didn’t work. We even brought our own firestick to try and entertain ourselves, but no working remote buttons prevented that. The lightbulb in the lamps got concerningly hot. You could hear the room next to us. Beds were decent. I would look elsewhere if we were back in the area.
- 3/5
There's no good restaurants near by
- 5/5
Hotel was nice my parents stayed there passing through.
- 1/5
Beds was hard as a rock. Pillows was about the same blankets had cigarette Burns in them and there's supposed to be a non-smoking facility. Worst money I ever spent on a motel in my life
- 1/5
Derty
- 3/5
Decor was dated and the room set up was weird. Loved the linens and duvet and pillows. Breakfast was meh
- 3/5
We were at the very end of the hallway of the property on 3rd floor. Long walk to elevator to get to lobby and leave property. We were supposed to have a king room, had 2 queen beds instead. Toilet seat was wobbly. Didn't realize until middle of night.
- 5/5
Right off of the highway yet not too close to be noisy. Comfortable for the night stay we were there.
- 3/5
Upon checking in, we were charged three times for a room. Guy didn’t have much personality. Brenda was at the front desk the next day and was amazing.
- 4/5
Looks like you’re driving into an industrial area
- 5/5
I've stayed here a number of times over the last 20 years and have always found it to be a clean, safe, and well maintained hotel. Easy parking, convenient to both fast food and traditional dine-in restaurants on the same I-81 Interstate Exit.
- 5/5
Better quality than other motels.
- 5/5
Property was easy to get to from interstate, clean, friendly, and good free breakfast. Wish I had known about laundry option though. But was a wonderful stay.
- 5/5
Comfortable and clean room. Nice simple breakfast. Excellent customer service at front desk and breakfast area.
- 5/5
Staff was pleasant and we were able to check-in early.
- 5/5
Went for a short overnight trip. The hotel staff , atmosphere was friendly & efficient. To top it all off the breakfast was super w/ waffles, fresh off the griddle!!…eggs , sausages toast, everything to start the day FULL! Very good…..

- 2/5
The linens appeared to have been changed and towels were clean. Manager is supposed to contact us in the morning.
- 3/5
The entire walkway to my room was musty. The bed was sank In and uncomfortable and old.
- 3/5

Water tasted great here. Didn’t care for the breakfast much.
- 3/5
A place to put your head down. Nothing special. Clean. Would stay if had to but would skip if had a choice
- 5/5
Hotel was clean with friendly customer service. Easy access off I81.
- 5/5
Convenient for our last minute stay. We’re choice members and always enjoy our stays.

Drive 5hrs to find out pool isnt ipen and wont be til after memorial day and said the cant refund me even tho i didnt stay there because i made reservation through expedia so im here day 2 waiting for refund.. i will NEVER pre pay or stay at one of these hotels again
- 3/5
Property is older and tired. Could use some updating, especially the bathroom and shower. We were in an accessible king room and the tile in the shower had quite a few problems.
- 3/5
Smelled very strongly of dog. I understand it was a pet friendly room, as I brought my dog with me, but it just seems like they could do better when cleaning those rooms to keep it smelling fresh. Not much to do around the hotel
- 4/5
very good
- 5/5
Staff was great
- 5/5
Walls were slopping painted and not cleaned up to look neat. Older tub. Breakfast area was clean. Food was good. Ground workers were hanging around in room.
- 5/5
Clean and convenient
- 1/5
Worker (seemed like a substance issue) served my family and I rancid spoiled chunky milk with the morning coffee / breakfast, as well as many others and then denied giving it to us when I confronted her, then she proceeded to drink the curdled milk in front of me. Complete disregard for health of customers. I got to my room and the balcony door was broken and the door was locked shut so I got my room switched. Then my 2nd room also had a broken balcony lock but luckily this one would open. The bathroom smelled stale like mildew or something. The curtains and walls were visibly dirty looked like they’ve never been cleaned. Horrible experience for an important family trip, will never be returning and of course they have a no refund policy.
- 1/5
We stayed for 5 nights, while visiting family. Only for our hotel to be not very clean, very outdated, walls that you can clearly hear people talking and yelling through, hotel keys not working, breakfast wasn’t that good either! I will not be booking here again!
- 1/5
The highway noise is very loud and the place smells bad.
- 5/5
Love the view of the mountains! Free breakfast was hot and was good, rooms were clean, staff very friendly and helpful
- 5/5
Staff were super nice. Breakfast options were varied. Gym needs a little bit of love but that’s it!
- 3/5
The breakfast was good.
- 5/5
Nice
- 2/5
Peeling wallpaper in bathroom Water stained ceiling Carpet condition very old Place somewhat clean.
- 3/5
I was conveniently located for our ride that weekend.
- 3/5
On Mon 10/30/23, nobody at front desk, everybody get lock out, no breakfast, no service. We had to wait for three hours before someone came to open the door for us.
- 1/5
Had to wait on the girl to finish smoking out front to check in, and she was clearly either sick or suffering from allergies coughing and rubbing her runny nose while checking me in. Very run down property, old thrift store furniture, sink was cracked, carpet worn and tired, paint coming off the walls in places and chipped in the bath. Overall wayyyyyy over priced dump. Should have been a 1 star hotel for $59, not $170.
- 5/5
Stay there at the last minute traveling back on Rt 81. Was much better than expected for the price. Set back enough from the Interstate that we did not hear the traffic. Also the added breakfast was a welcome treat.
- 3/5
Smelled like cigarettes
- 3/5
Peeling paint in bathroom and you had to close the bathroom door to use the toilet! Torn window screen, lamp unplugged, no light, but needed it to connect wifi chargers.
- 4/5
Our room smelled like cigarette smoke and aerosols spray.
- 4/5
Breakfast was not stocked well... we had to wait for eggs. Waffle mix was flavored. Hoping for a better breakfast before dropping my son off for his first semester at VMI.
- 5/5
Beds and bedding were very comfortable and spotless. Breakfast had extensive offerings, and dining room was huge. Staff was friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Great staff. Comfortable bed and room.
- 4/5
Comfy beds
- 2/5
It was terribly humid in the room, even when AC cranked up. The room had a bad door latch. WiFi was very poor and so was the cell service. Some mold in the bathroom. Overall poor condition of hotel.
- 5/5
.
- 2/5
The rooms were terrible. The hall stunk like old cigarettes but the sweet young lady up front was amazing and very kind.
- 4/5
Clean and quiet. I spent two nights in two different rooms. Both had some minor condition issues. But overall a very restful stay. Their breakfast was really good.
- 5/5
The staff was friendly. Good breakfast buffet!
- 2/5
Totally a rip off for the money. We paid nearly 300 dollars to stay in this dump. Location is next to truck stops. No real restaurants around. Check in was fine but obvious guy not thrilled to be there. Room and hotel were dingy and in need of maintenance and a facelift. My husband said the place just gave him the creeps.. Bed was comfortable but AC did not cool. The dog panted all night and we sweated. In the morning the elevator would not stop on the main floor, which was a problem as I was traveling with my mother who is in a wheelchair. Front desk was no help. Breakfast lady came up with the idea of calling the elevator while we ride it so it would open on the main floor so we could get my mother out. Breakfast was good. In short: I wish I could get my money back. Avoid at all costs
- 4/5
Breakfast was disappointing
- 5/5
Nice and beautiful hotel
- 5/5
They were very nice very clean rooms. The breakfast was awesome.
- 4/5
Nice fitness Cntr. Hotel was fine. No issues.
- 5/5
We were completely satisfied.
- 2/5
There were stains on the bedding and the mattress covers and box springs. It was disgusting. The staff were also unsatisfactory. The man who checked me in was obviously unhappy, did not appear to even care that I was there to check in, acted irritated that i asked questions about the rates. The woman who worked overnight at front desk was in the breakfast dining area at 6am when I was leaving and complained at to me for several minutes about her work and the lack of help, and how she was doing the work of 3 people. I left the hotel with a vow to never use this hotel again, or any other by this company, if possible. They are not 4.2 rated hotel by any means
- 4/5
The hotel was a little aged but well kept
- 4/5
Ceiling in room had large paint chips exposed.
- 5/5
Check in was fast and easy. Staff were friendly and thoughtful. Very clean and comfortable
- 5/5
Close to highway, but not right on busy road. Room is updated and offers good value for room price.
- 5/5
they have truck parking
- 1/5
Wouldn’t take your booking
- 5/5
Friendly staff, hotel older, but comfy beds, nice and quiet.
- 3/5
The entire first floor smelled like cigarette smoke, there were customers smoking so that the smoke came into our room all night. The refrigerator was leaking water and did not work. There were no rooms available for us to switch.
- 5/5
Fantastic stay with great staff.
- 5/5
Very good value and nice room.
- 3/5
Exterior looks great, interior not so much. Dingy, lots of scuff marks on doors and walls, and despite having AC the room was really humid. Just seemed run down and in need of a refurbishment.
- 4/5
The location was convenient, the room was clean, the morning Bree was awesome. The only down side was that there was no real hot water. It was somewhat warm, but then that made the shower extremely cold.
- 5/5
Good place, my son forgot his ipad and they brought it out to us
- 1/5
We had an absolutely terrible experience. Check-in in the evening, person had zero personality. Hotel pictures looked good got on premises the place is absolutely filthy. As we walk to our room we could smell severe cigarette smoke and some fake perfume or sanitizer to try and smother the smell. The room was the same as to the smell of cigarette smoke. Woke up the next day only to find out no hot water. When reported to the manager at first says would give a credit then reneged. I Would highly recommend not staying here
- 5/5
Got checked in quickly. The rooms was nice and the bed was comfy.
