Reviews
The hotel offers a beautiful location with stunning views of Lake Shasta and easy access to the lake for boating and other water activities. The staff is consistently praised for their friendliness and helpfulness. However, the hotel is dated and in need of updates, with common complaints including no WiFi or poor WiFi, no refrigerators or microwaves in the rooms, and outdated or non-functioning TVs.

great views
- 4/5
If you are fishing for a few days, this is most convenient place to stay on the lake. Beautiful scenery. Rooms are dated.
- 5/5
Clean spacious rooms and comfortable bed. Friendly helpful staff and the boat slips at secure
- 5/5
The room is comfy cozy and the heater worked fine👍
- 3/5
Tv didn't work. Turned on but could find no channels.
- 4/5
Sweet location by the lake. Quiet.
- 5/5
It was ok. An old building but the linens and towels are all new
- 1/5
Don't stay unless you HAVE to. To start, there is no direction to where you check in. We went up to the top, where the rooms are, couldn't find the front desk. Found a couple numbers, front desk number said they were closed, so, we called the next number. That number was "security" he told us to come back down to a building that was closed. We saw a few people confused as well and had to direct them where to go. The room was worse than any hotel I’ve ever stayed at and I've stayed at a Motel 6. Mold everywhere in the bathroom. The TV didn't have any channels, so it was just static. The shower is tiny, 1 person can barely fit, don't even think about bending over, you will hit your head. No counter space in the bathroom. There was a long closet with 1 clothes rack in the back of the closet. If you are as lucky as us to be on the 1st floor, you can hear EVERY movement someone makes in the room above. For $150/a night, absolute rip off! Do not stay unless you have to.
- 2/5
And when I tried to call the office, you can’t call the office from the room phones. We won’t be staying there again, but the lake is beautiful.
- 5/5
Perfect location
- 4/5
Great location to enjoy Lake Shasta.
- 3/5
Beds were quite comfortable Televisions did not work and floors in the rooms were really dirty
- 5/5
Really really appreciate the sole feature that they allow your dog to stay in the air conditioned room whilst you enjoy the 100 degree weather on the lake. Will def be returning. Thank you thank you.
- 5/5
The only complaint I have is the lamp shades are filthy and cracked up.
- 2/5
The room was dirty complained 3 different times that the room was dirty but nobody came to clean the 5 days we were stuck there we had no car came with family that was out on houseboat the TV was broken and nobody came to fix it at all my handicapped husband was stuck in the room with no TV for the whole time with nothing to do or watch and we paid a lot of money and nobody cared at all
- 3/5
PHONE SERVICES DISCONNECTED, NO ROOM SERVICES, NO FRIGE, OR MICROWAVE, OVERALL STAY IS A BASIC-OKAY, ROOM IS GOOD/CLEAN. FOR A ONE NIGHT SLEEP IS OKAY - MYSELF BEING MULTIPLE DAY I WOULD GET A BIGGER ROOM.
- 2/5
the room was run down, noisy and of ill repair
- 4/5
It was not fancy but functional and one of the cleanest rooms!
- 4/5
the location for enjoing the lake is perfect!
- 1/5
Worse than a motel 6 and twice as expensive. Room outdated, room was dirty, tv didn’t work, limited access to lake. Do not stay here, go anywhere else.
- 5/5
Check in was smooth, restaurant was great. Actual rooms are functional but could do with some updates
- 4/5
The floor above me creaked and cracked very loud. Hard to sleep. Alot of walking up there late into the night.
- 5/5
Older property but in good condition and friendly staff.
- 3/5
It was a nice quiet hotel. Close to get to the boats but the shower is the absolute worst I’ve ever had. Anywhere ever. Would not recommend just for that.
- 1/5
No hot water in the unit TV was broken and Wi-Fi didn’t work.
- 1/5
Not so good. We ended up leaving
- 1/5
No tv or internet. When we asked about it, we were told that if we didn't like it we could just leave. We were told they would refund us only because we pre paid.
- 2/5
The next night we checked out and went to a different hotel they said they would refund 1 night have not received it yet.
- 5/5
This property is meticulously maintained, especially considering its age, and all the staff we encountered were exceptionally friendly and helpful. This stay was a convenient location to join family that was staying on a houseboat. We feel like we got what we paid for and did not have high expectations. The cons: we could hear every floor squeak and footstep above us, the double bed rooms are full size, not queen, and there is no mini frig or microwave. The pros: staff, cleanliness, ice machine, in-room coffee maker, onsite restaurant.
- 5/5
Tv didn’t work but didn’t care ! Had a great view and room was comfortable
- 5/5
An excellent location to use Shasta Lake. Included is boat lauch. Huff is a good place for simple food. Staff is very nice.
- 2/5
Mitch was great at front desk and Zach hooked us up with a boat slip due to Pge having a local issue and shutting off power during the first night. But then sat night we got back and our keys didn’t work. Office closed so Security let us in but said since both cards don’t work it’s the battery in the lock and nothing he can do???? So we are locked in our room? As in we can’t leave for food or drinks or a walk as we will be locked out again. Really?? So we couldn’t leave sat night for anything. So we Left 3 messages for Zach during the next week and never a call back. Ridiculous. Shower is tiny. We were told the room had a little fridge which it didn’t so we had to throw some food out.
- 2/5
TV didn't work, WIFI didn't work, no hot water, extremely noisy (I-5 bridge), bed was comfortable, fairly close to Lake Shasta Caverns.
- 5/5
It was a beautiful place to stay! Friendly staff and people staying there. We booked it only for one night as a nice spot off of I-5 on our way to NorCal Beach. Next time we will stay much longer and enjoy renting a boat or Wave Runner!
- 5/5
Great stay for our group! Shout out to Zack and Dana for treating us so kindly.
- 5/5
I loved the view to the lake Shasta from the balcony!
- 4/5
I liked how remote the hotel was.
- 3/5
Super noisy, TV did not work.
- 5/5
Loved the accessibility to the lake and keeping our boat on property! Rooms are fine- simple, clean. We were just in them to sleep and for that they were great! AC was a plus! We will be back for sure!
- 5/5
Perfect, quiet place by Shasta like
- 3/5
TV didn't have signal. There is no wifi.
- 4/5
Went to the local restaurant and had an excellent meal! Hats off to the chef! The staff was also really helpful!
- 3/5
Great place to stay with a boat, they have option to plug in and charge. The rooms do not have refrigerators, or working cable/satellite tv. There is virtually no cell service and the WiFi did not work. The room we stayed in said 2 queen beds but they were actually double beds. The whole place is very dated. They do have a restaurant and bar on site which is an amazing, inviting atmosphere. The food at the Huff way exceeded our expectations. The food on their new upscale dinner menu is something you would see in a magazine/tv or expect from a Michelin star chef. They nailed!
- 4/5
Very cozy & cute, but the floors were not very clean.
- 4/5
The room was nice and clean. But they did not have WiFi and the tv only had one channel that did not come in very good.
- 5/5
The nature is obviously brilliant and the staff exceeded expectations. I was moving and had a uhaul and the housekeeper parked it for me and after I was having issues with internet, (the internet is spotty out there fyi) and they were so very helpful. You are in the wilderness so be sure you don't have to do business, the cell service and internet are both spotty. Fantastic place to go relax and the restaurant has great food. Easy on off the freeway. Staff was exceptional!!!
- 5/5
Nice staff, great location
- 4/5
You can't beat the location of this motel. Take it for what it is. It's old, it's beaten up and it's in a fantastic location! Go in with the mindset that you are staying there because you can walk to your boat, the restaurant and enjoy the lake. The ice machine you can fill your coolers with is amazing and the service was great.
- 5/5
Didn't like that the restaurant was closed when the website said it was open.
- 5/5
Everyone one we spoke with were very pleasant. Enjoy the rustic look of the bathroom, and how did it not get steamed up without an exhaust fan? amazing...
- 1/5
Sadly, this place seems to be let abandoned, I have no complaints about the staff whom made an effort to do their job and acted professional, our room’s carpet was dirty, the tv didn’t work, the surrounding areas had not being cleaned in ages, I will not recommend nor ever come back there
- 3/5
The area is very good, just by the Shasta Lake. Our room has no microwave and mini refrigerator that is very disappointed The on site restaurant was closed couple weeks ago so we have to drove few miles away to find food.
- 5/5
After Labor Day was so quiet and relaxing. It would be nice to have a little refrigerator in the room.
- 5/5
Everything was great! Friendly staff and great location. Would come back in a heart beat!
- 3/5
Views of lake very good. Hotel room very basic but clean. AirCon very noisy. Limited dining facilities on site.
- 1/5
The shower head in room 129 was so low as if it was for dwarfs (this wasn't an accessible room). Walls were cracked, shower had a window looking at the parking lot, going to the restroom you'd let everyone in the parking lot see you. The shower was warm as hell, the toles were burning, as if you were next to a boiler room. No microwave or fridge. No soap, although frind's room had it. Had lakeview obstructed by trees and bushes.
- 3/5
Good
- 4/5
Clean, comfortable and surprisingly quiet, it does need the 80's era bathroom remodelling but all works fine.
- 4/5
Nice motel on Shasta Lake. Clean, no frills room, but good for our stay and very thankful for the a/c. We enjoyed boating on the lake, soaking up the sun, and exploring the area.
- 5/5
The lodge was a good surprise for us. We did not expect it to have a lake view at the front.
- 4/5
Nice stay
- 5/5
wonderful vie w
- 3/5
However, the room was dirty with visible spider web and spider. It was full of dust under the bed and explains why they had spider in the room.
- 1/5
Extremely underwhelmed. There is no WiFi in the rooms. No bath tub, mini fridge or microwave. The cable channels that actually worked were fuzzy. For a room that was almost $200 a night it was terrible. We won’t be back.
- 3/5
The beds were uncomfortable. the blinds allowed a bright light to shine in on the bed.at night. And the oven and two burners didn't work so made it difficult to cook. But I do love being close to the lake.
- 4/5
Room was ok not the best not the worst but the beds were terrible mattress felt like a 20 year old spring mattress that’s the only complaint.
- 4/5
The property was Okay. No mini fridge or microwave. Too few electrical outlets. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
- 1/5
This property is way in the boondocks. Everything was closed and no one there but my husband and I. After 30 minutes, we got a hold of the night watchman and he gave us the key. The room was small, smelly, with concrete floor. We turned around and drove back to Redding. Do not come here during off season! It's an unsafe place and there's no amenities nearby.
- 1/5
When I arrived at Bridge Bay Lodge, the office was closed and no one was available to check me in. I never saw anyone and never had a chance to stay there. I had to drive another sixty miles to Mt. Shasta city to find a motel. Bridge Bay Lodge was a total disaster due to their total lack of customer service. I’m still pissed about the experience!
- 2/5
Lack of amenities and convenience. NOT due to smoke.
- 2/5
Very disappointing accommodations. The facility is dated and poorly maintained. The bathroom floor had dirty grout in the tile. Will not stay there again.
- 4/5
The lodge location is great, window facing Lake Shasta, but this season low watering line. Assume Nov-April must be very good view.
- 3/5
The location to the lake
- 3/5
This is a property that has seen better days. It is fine if you are a boayer but minimum amenities, facilities for motel patrons
- 4/5
The property is older, but very clean. The customer service was excellent and they tried to please. Wood lounge chairs were provided near the restaurant, so we could view the lake. The restaurant was very good. My Chicken Marsala was excellent. However there were no refrigerators in the rooms, nor was there internet services. The TV reception was poor. But, I loved being in nature than in town any day.
- 5/5
great stay, great location
- 5/5
Loved it. Had about 30 of us in different rooms. The family rooms with kitchens n bbq were perfect for our gatherings. Staff was awesome.
- 1/5
We arrived around 7pm. The regular front desk staff were gone for the day. The after hours peson was very friendly but he was not able to check us in or issue our room keys so we had to go find some where else to spend the nigh, which wasn’t easy.
- 4/5
Neat location and loved the family suite. We lucked out and were there when there weren't too many other guests so everything was nice and quiet! Having the kitchen and the living room was awesome with the kids. It was hard to get them to leave the room! It was also very convenient to have a restaurant so close. COVID made things a little strange - limited restaurant and store hours - but overall a great stay.
- 4/5
Arista at the front desk was amazing. She remembered me just by my voice. The room was dated-bathroom tile was 1950's, but in perfect condition. The shower-warm at best was a trickle, the air conditioning unit worked well-it controlled the 100+ degree temperature, but it was loud. we turned it off in the morning, then left for a boat ride-realizing how hot our room would be. The housekeeping staff had turned it back on.-very aware and responsible. Dinner at the resort's COOK HOUSE Restaurant was great, views wonderful, and very attentive staff. We rented a pontoon boat for the day-saw most of the lake, and easy to operate.
- 5/5
Check-in was easy, Lake Shasta water was great for swimming and house boating with our grand kids was great!
- 5/5
Beautiful view, great facility. So close the the lake.
- 2/5
We stayed for a weekend at the Bridge Bay Lodge at Shasta Lake. Once we have arrived, we were sad to find out that there is no internet in the room, or anywhere at the lodge. TV has about 3 channels with bad resolution. The room was clean but dark and mattresses were very uncomfortable. Good AC though. Restaurant closed at 7 and there were no other food options, no fridge or microwave in the room either, so we had to drive to Redding to get food. We have rented a fishing boat, that broke down when we were on the lake. We have called twice about that but had spotty reception. There was no response. Good Samaritan towed us to the dock. We were not offered any money back or anything else. There is very little communication between the boat rental staff and lodge staff, they provide opposite information which requires people to go from one to another, over a giant vertical stairs from beach to lodge, in a 110F heat. We will never stay there again.
- 3/5
Check in was bad. Gave us wrong room so had to go back to get another room. Stayed here for view is lake and there was no view of lake from our room. Just trees.
- 3/5
• Location was wonderful--hard to beat right there on the lake, great view • Cost of the room included launch fees-- cool ! • Room was clean • Parking was adequate with plenty of space for trailers • Bagged ice provided though regular ice machine not in use -- assume due to COVID - 19 • A/C worked well • Price was I'd say reasonable for what we got. The critique stuff: • NO Internet ! Man… in this day no wifi ?? I would assume this issue is not due to COVID-19. But a lack or priority ? • Room was quite outdated-- bathroom tlle from the 50s etc. It had the vintage look, which was OK in a lake setting, but may not be conducive for a return visit • No small refrig available even for an extra cost. Recommend you get a dozen or so, so when people ask you will have them. This is very high on hotel/motel room expectations these days. • Lack of hooks ( in bathroom) or table space in the room to put stuff on
- 3/5
No wifi in rooms- need to walk down to marina store/rental area. Cable did not work. Very old bathroom fixtures, furniture, mattresses. OK if you want to stay at the lake for a night, but not good for the weekend.
- 5/5
This is a hidden gem! An older style hotel with no frills but located with water views, lots of trees and a peaceful atmosphere! We were glad to get off the highway on our trip home! No WiFi in rooms and cell service poor, but nice to unplug for a bit!
- 4/5
Location is everything , nice to be close to the lake close to our boat, room is pretty basic older, wish there was fridge and microwave in our room. Not sure that I’ll be back
- 3/5
Clean. Very dated. Paper thin walls. Overall comfortable for basic needs.
- 4/5
The bathroom in the rooms need to be updated. Also, there was no fridge or microwave in the rooms.
- 4/5
no wifi, but every other accomodation was perfect.
- 5/5
Always an enjoyable stay
- 5/5
Great location easy access from freeway to launch ramp
- 4/5
What a delight. So much.to offer. Restaurant, lounge, and every kind of water craft to rent. My room was efficient, but electric outlets not located near the bed was the only drawback. .would definitely stay here again.
- 4/5
This was a great find. Nice room, friendly staff, convenient restaurant.
- 5/5
The place was great for the price, my wife and I had a good time and the Restaurant was delicious, Thank You.
- 4/5
Motel near bridge from I-5 Frwy.Heard car/truck traffic while trying to sleep.Said motel on lake but tucked back farther away &behind trees,no real view. Also hardly any WiFi,cell reception extremely poor. Inside, bed very comfortable&clean.Older, well kept unit.Nothing more than that.
- 1/5
Sucked very rude and no bathtubs tv was fuzzy reception and no free WiFi
- 4/5
Cozy spot with good views of the lake. Clean, comfortable and very reasonable prices. Furniture and decor is dated but overall, a great value.
- 5/5
The location is stunning, with views of Shasta Lake. The rooms are clean and comfortable.there are spa products in the spacious bathroom. There was even a walk in closet, which must be great for longer stay guests
- 5/5
the shower was horrible.the store closes too early
- 2/5
I requested queen size beds and we got doubles. My wife and i are traveling with our two kids and had to squeeze into doubles. The entire building is empty and they could have put us in a extra room if queen is not available. The restaurant closed at three and the office closed at 6 so there was nobody to talk to other than security.
- 5/5
Great place to stay with very friendly staff. The only bummer is you can’t swim there because it’s a Marina, but Bailey Cove is only like 15 minutes from the hotel and you can swim there, also parking is only $7 but you will need cash and a pen.
