    Location & price Receptionist was rude, complained about not wanting to be there and then pulled up paper saying $100 cash deposit was required. When I told her I went through a third party site to reserve & pay for room & no one carries cash around. she said that’s not my problem and pointed to atm machine.     Close to Waffle House. The hotel was very noisy, and the check-in/check-out process was not convenient. They also required a cash deposit, but there was no one at the counter during morning checkout. Many customers were left waiting just to get their deposit back. I booked a stay with breakfast included, but the breakfast was not edible — even the coffee was bad.

    Do NOT stay here. We had no choice as it was the only place left for graduation weekend. We reluctantly booked 3 nights. The first night and entire day we did not have a functioning toilet and had to complain several times for them to either fix it or replace it as it would not flush. They finally replaced it after I got Expedia on the line. The rooms were disgusting with questionable stains on all the furniture. Every time we left the room we would have to go back to the front desk to get our keys remade because they kept not working (no less than 10 times) and this was for 3 rooms each. We would have to wait in the lobby each time for at least 10-15 minutes as there was never anyone at the front desk to help guests. The 3rd night we were there, we were flagged down by the police that were sitting in the parking lot on a stakeout who told us we should not stay there because it was not safe as there was a lot of prostitution and drug dealing coming in and out of the hotel as well as the hotel being fully known for always having bed bugs. We explained we had no choice. The icing on the cake was my son left his wallet on the dresser on check out day…they confirmed 3 hours later they had the wallet with 2 credit cards and $400 cash which they put in a safe but then changed their story 24 hours later to say they never found it. Per the police…they are actively trying to have this hotel shut down and I can see why. If you value safety, cleanliness and honesty…DO NOT STAY HERE!!

    We look at the beds, there’s some dog hair, cigarette holes in all the sheets, a hole in the ground covered by a carpet, and the bathroom was dirty and rusty. We then see roaches and look for another hotel but everything is fully booked. I also paid around $200 something for this $20 max hotel. Save your money and go somewhere else. This place is a health hazard as the roof was full of dust and MOLD. The air conditioner has not had the filter changed in most likely a decade and just pushes around mold, we couldn’t even sleep with the window open. There was also around 30 FLIES flying in the ceiling from the smell of the mold. It was literally like sleeping in a DUMPSTER. In the photos u cannot see the flies but in the videos you can. Do yourself a favor and DONT STAY HERE. Not even to save money. Nothing will be good.

    I did not see this when I booked, so I was not prepared, the ATM machine at office, did no work, I had to leave and go find one. Not sure why they would not accept a Credit Card as usual. During my 2 night stay, I found these issues. Toilet was backed up and would not flush properly, the Sink Faucet was very loose and coming apart. The Continental Breakfast was Not! Saturday and Sunday mornings, not even Coffee! I will Not stay with Super 8 chain..ever again!

    My problem was that the room was not well lit, one of the lamps did not work. I asked for it to be fixed, no one ever came. No one was ever at the front desk, you had to run around the hotel yelling for them for basically any kind of help. I was traveling for business. I will never go back there.

    My room had no cold/hot the unit was so old one button was missing. Told the front desk that unit didn’t work and went to my room look at unit checked it and instead of giving me another room told me I broke the AC unit. Advise avoid staying on this hotel not worth it the money even that cheap.

    The worst hotel ive ever entered, and ive been to quite a few and travelled the world. It starts when you enter the hotel and the woman at the front counter is passed out. When she did come to she was quite obviously high as a kite. When we get to the hallway leading to our room -the hallway ceiling tiles are half off or non existant, the paint is blotchy and dirty. Hallway smells heavily like weed. Then you get into the room. Old retro dirty carpets (my shoes are still on !!!!) Hard bed. Fridge doesnt work. Toilet seat is half falling off. Toilet runs for 5 minutes after you flush. The furniture is old and uncomfortable. Get me out of here !!!!!!!!

    Worst experience I’ve ever had with any hotel I’ve ever stayed at, and I’ve stayed at many, including many Super 8 hotels. I would and will tell everyone I know and come across to NEVER give business to this hotel. First, I booked my room online and paid for it. Not once in the booking process did it tell me that a CASH deposit, not a card for incidentals but cash only, deposit was required. I told the front desk guy this and was told if I don’t have it then I can’t check into the room, after I’ve already paid for the room for the night. I had to use an ATM to withdraw the cash, got charged extra for it, then the front desk guy continued to be extremely rude and highly unprofessional, to the point I would ask a question and he would intentionally ignore me and just repeat a swear word, he doesn’t speak good English. When he finally checked me into the room, the heater was broken, the toilet didn’t flush well, and the shower was a literal drip without any pressure. I suffered through the night with these major inconveniences because the front desk guy was so rude. Then this morning I went to check out and there was no one there to check me out. I waited for thirty minutes and even walked the halls of the hotel to try and find someone to check me out, yelled out but got no answer. I had to be to work and couldn’t be late, so I was forced to leave without checking out. The hotel still has my deposit, no one is answering the front desk phone, I’ve filed a formal complaint.

    This hotel has really gone down over the last few years. Bathroom - no water pressure, rusted towel rack, washcloths were new but towels were old and dingy. Both chairs in the room were dirty and had a white powdery substance on them. The ac/heating unit - you could see outside and feel the cold air so I stuffed a towel around it. You can feel the springs in the mattress.

    We didn't get to stay because we had no idea that we had to have a security deposit . We had stayed there 3 previously times because my wife was having back surgery so this time we had to sleep in the truck because of no deposit. The person at check in was also very RUDE about the whole situation he didnt care and we made our reservation online almost a month before . It takes 2 minutes to take the money out of your account but almost 2 weeks to put it back . The whole thing was bull .

    The room was awful. There was blood all over the mattresses. Mold in the bathroom and in the microwave. Lamps, blow dryer, fan and fridge were broken. Dust hanging from the ceiling. Tables were dirty and sticky. I have pictures of everything.

    This place was horrible... a complete nightmare. The room was infested with roaches and bed bugs. When my girlfriend and I told the guy at the front desk about the bug problem, he said, "There is nothing we can do for you. You can go to the place across the street but you wont get your $100 cash deposit back when you leave." On top of that, I forgot a name brand face mask and hat in the room after we left. When my girlfriend went back to get it 2 days later, the manager was extremely rude. She said that nothing was left in the room and told my girl to leave. This was absolutely the worst place I have ever even heard of.

    They require a 100$ cash deposit for a non smoking room, they allowed me to just “upgrade” to a smoking room for $20 more dollars which she took card for. But I didn’t read it anywhere before I got there to check in. Breakfast had toast and juice, that’s all. And above it all, the 2 roaches I found in the fridge enjoyed my leftovers for me. I didn’t really have big expectations, especially for 100 dollar room for the night, at least our room didn’t have bedbugs.

    The bed covering had cigarette burn holes in it. The bathroom light was broken and the wall behind main door had a big hole.     They refund your cash when you check out which is great except I stood at the front desk for 30 minutes waiting on someone to come so I could get my refund which made me late for the engagement I was going to. There was no breakfast at all. The breakfast room was open but there was no food or drinks. I didn't even find coffee. The facility itself was as expected. It was an old hotel. I wouldn't say it was bad. It was clean enough for what we paid for, and no strong odors. The bathroom sink stopper was stuck and barely drained but that's about all I can complain about.

    Also, I had to give them $100 cash for them to hold onto for incidentals. I was not made aware of this before checking, so I had to use their lobby ATM which charged an additional $5.50 on top of what I took out. In the morning I got the $100 back but like they didn't even go up to the room to check for damages or anything? Like they just wanted to make sure the people staying here had more money than for their stay?? The listing on the website (and in a Google search) says they provide a free breakfast, totally NOT the case. That was literally the only reason I choose them over another similar listing. I feel lied to! Staff themselves were courteous and I know they were following hotel policy so I don't blame them.

    It was a first for me to discover that the establishment requires a $100 Cash deposit, which was not very obvious from the reading of the agency's website (who carries $100 cash with them under normal circumstances). After getting that cash, the accommodation was ok, although it took some gymnastics to get the microwave to work ( but we appreciated the fact that there was one available)

    Thy said 24hrs available for check in. When I reach the property, no one at front desk and guests sleeping in lobby area sofas. I waited 30mins and called Expedia and no support provided. Then I contacted Wyndham support and spent 1 hour. They also called and no one showed up even phone ringing continuously. I booked this hotel to take a stop with kids and end up eating time money as I had to book another hotel. I didn’t expect this type or bad service from Expedia. This group of people who owns hotels making this industry worse

    The hallway was noisy in the middle of the night with guests chatting and socializing. One of the guests had a loud conversation right outside my door, which woke me up. The room, indeed the entire property, had not seen any refurbishment in a very long time. There was a man just hanging out on the front stoop watching me as I parked and unloaded my car which made me feel uncomfortable. I did get my money back at check-out; no one investigated the room before I left. I don't know what that was about at all. I would not choose this property again.

    The hotel requires a $100 CASH deposit, the blankets on the bed were FILTHY, the tables had some unknown sticky substance on the tables, there weren’t pillowcases on the pillows, and no fitted sheet on the bed, but all rooms were taken and there was nothing they could do. If I had the ability to go somewhere else I would have but we were in a crunch.

    My reservation was messed up and I couldn't check in. They had me as checking in tonight instead of last night, which forced me to drive almost 20 hours. They would not cancel my reservation and still took my money, even though I never checked in. Sketch if you ask me. This customer service was no help either. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED

    Absolutely filthy. Seen multiple different bedbugs and cockroaches in the room. Cigarette burn holes all in the bed and it is disgusting. It does not look like the room was even cleaned at check-in. Worst hotel I’ve ever seen in all my years of traveling.

    Hotel has bad bugs Beatles cockroaches in their rooms. The dirtiest place not even worth staying here for $15 a night. The manager is very rude disrespectful they do not care about their customers and they’ll ignore any complaint. Never stay here. This is absolutely one of the worst hotels in Roanoke.

    This is disgusting! The smoke detector is missing exposing live wires. The bathroom faucet is broken. Bathroom vent doesn't work. The tiles in the bathroom are broken, loose and filthy. The latch lock on the door is broken. There is no breakfast. When I asked why there was no breakfast the "manager" told me she would grab a loaf of bread. This place was so bad we didn't stay our second night despite already paying in full. This dump needs to be condemned!

    We checked in really late. The guy at the front desk was nice and did a good job checking us in. However, the room stunk, but we were tired and went straight to bed. When I got up in the morning in and went into the bathroom, I saw the ceiling above the shower was well covered in black mold--could be the source of the stink. I also noticed a good layer of dust on top of the light shades. The fridge did not work well; part of it's top was actually broken off. The corridors were poorly lit and smelled musty as well.

    This motel was in the worst part of town and after arriving with room paid in full with Expedia the motel still wanted an additional $100 cash for the room deposit. Clerk could barely speak English. This location should not be on Expedia! We did not stay the night at this dump!

    I would like a refund, I was not able to check in when we arrived , there was a gentleman ahead of us he and clerk were arguing over a 100.00 cash deposit they were requiring for the night stay and saying it was requirement and he stated that it was nowhere on the Expedia website about this, so he left. Then it was my turn and me and my wife were told we had to pay the 100.00 cash deposit to stay and we told them do we were not paying that; it was scam and they’re scamming people out of money, the hotel is very dirty, run down, staff is rude. The staff is not helpful. They were in the middle of shift change and the new clerk never spoke to us and she was rude, talked to her about 100.00 deposit and she stated it was on super 8 website explained to her we booked through Expedia and she said then you need to talk to Expedia. My wife and her got in a heated argument and she wouldn’t let us have our anyway, so we need a refund, asap, and she called the police on my wife cause she got too close to our personal property which was our car my wife told her to back away and just barely touched her shoulder and the clerk slapped her so hard she left a red streak on her face, so this was the worst experience of any hotel I ever tied to stay at in my entire life, and they’re scamming people. The cops came and they said they come at 6 times a week. I wouldn’t be promoting that hotel. It’s not in a good location at all. Thank you and please let me know about my refund asap.

    •Housekeeping doesn't knock they just come into your room • No do not disturb signs provided to customers who stay •The "Breakfast" is just orange juice and apple juice... •The vending machines date back to the 80s, so no card or dolla bills, just coins. •Check in staff is physically slow. (With that wifi, idk why I'm surprised) •No bathrooms in lobby nor anywhere but rooms. (Problem there being they are so slow you gotta stop elsewhere before you get there if you need to go, and not everyone is gonna know that coming from outta state) •The rooms are half ass cleaned. •Hand towels and washcloths in bathrooms but no bath towels. 🤔

    This place was a drug den. The outer door was left open or unlocked all night. There was a heavy smell of weed. They required a $100 cash only deposit at check in. The “breakfast” was coffee, toast, and instant oatmeal. The place was very old, the sink ran constantly and when you turned on the lights, cockroaches scurried to their corners. It was a very uncomfortable stay and would warn others away!!!

    Do not book a stay at this property! We had to deal with unfriendliness, nastiness, cigarette smoke smell, roach infested room, mold all in the shower along with the roaches. We along with others should be refunded as this place is unsafe and is not a good place to stay or even to be advertised for anyone to come stay here.

    This Super 8 says accepts cards no cash, and when we arrived they refused to give us the room that was already paid for unless we gave them 100 in cash as a Deposit. When we told them they can hold it on the card he said he only takes cash and then when i tried to ask why he walked away and said if you not giving me cash im not listening and proceeded to sit on his laptop . DO NOT STAY HERE PLACE WAS DIRTY BEFORE EVEN GOING IN THE ROOM, ANOTHER PERSON WAITING SAID THE ROOMS WERE ROACH INFESTED

    Be prepared to let them hold $100 cash until you check out (an ATM is beside the front desk, $3 fee). No breakfast, maybe because the water looked like the drainage from an old hot water tank (cloudy with particles). The bedding was clean, but roaches are obvious. Bathroom had a rust-stained leaking sink faucet, toilet leaked at base, very scuffed bathtub (didn't look close enough to tell how much was due to poor cleaning). Hair dryer didn't work. Suggest bringing your own drinking water.

    This was the worst experience I’ve ever had at any hotel. We were traveling from GA to NY for a funeral and needed to rest so I rented 2 rooms for my parents and for me with my boys. When we got to the room there were bugs on the wall by the window. They were flying around the room landing on the bed and by us. There were also bugs crawling in the sheets in both beds in our room. I took LOTS of pictures to show the night clerk. The night clerk’s response was “What do you want me to do?” Owner didn’t want to give me a refund. I ended up going to the Quality Inn but my parents stayed and left with bites on their bodies. Thank goodness for Expedia that issued a refund.

    This was my 3rd say at this hotel. The prior stays, I was very happy with the outcome. This time I was not. There was 2 of us staying in the room which had one washcloth, 2 hand towels and 2 bath towels. The breakfast was poorly stocked (cereal with no bowls, and the next day no milk either) When I had to extend my stay a few days later, I was told to go back on Hotels.com which I did. While talking to the assistant manager about this, I ended up being charged $30. for an early check in, which I willingly paid. At that time I questioned when the towels would be changed, and was told they could clean the room and change all linens. When I left two days later that still had not happened. Their details show 24 hour front desk, when I questioned my early morning check out I was told to just leave the key in the room because no one would be there early in the morning. I left a day early and left a note on the counter that I had left etc, and requested a refund for the final days stay, including my email address. I did not receive any replies. I still have at least 3 more trips to that area over the next year, and very disappointed that I will now have to find another location to stay at.

    I travel often and understand placing a card on hold for incidentals. However, the man at the front desk demanded cash for incidentals. I told him I don't travel with cash, but I can use my debit card or Venmo. He got very aggressive and said if I don't have cash, I cannot stay there. I tried to reason with him and reiterated that people don't carry cash these days, and he said "that's not my * &# problem!" The hotel would not refund my money for the night, and I called Expedia to explain the situation. Expedia reassured me, they "would escalate this and I would hear back from them in 24 to 72 hours…" I never heard back from Expedia… Terrible hotel, horrible customer service from Expedia. Expedia lied and never followed up with me. Their service is dramatically going downhill.

    No one should ever stay at this property. If I could rate all zero I would as this location should be closed down. The management stole my deposit which I had to pay in cash. Plus wouldn’t cancel the reservation so they took that money as well. tried to say I smoked in the room and took a picture of a cup with cigarette ashes in the sink which didn’t even happen. The room smelled like smoke when I checked in. Had a green line going through the tv. Paint bubbling and falling off the bathroom walls. The staff was very rude and disrespectful. Lies say they don’t have the number to the manager and can’t contact them at all. Then turns around calls the manager speaks in Arabic talks crap about you and lies even more. Doesn’t treat people as human with respect. Treats and talks to you like trash. Her name is Vimal She needs to take classes on customer service and management. Just because it’s a privately owned they still pay for the franchise name. This is no way to run a business. There is no customer. She even spoke to her employee disrespectful in Spanish. She thought I couldn’t understand her but just because I speak English and live in America doesn’t mean I can’t understand what you’re saying in a different language. She racially profiled me for no reason. She never checked anyone’s room but mine. I was only at the location for work and as a blue collar worker I was unfairly treated.

    There were beds there. That’s about all positive we can say. Roaches in the bathroom, broken outlets, very small towels. If you are stuck with nowhere else to go it will work for one night.

    Rooms had cockroaches and bed bugs. Left at 1 am. Came back st 8am to sppeak to manager and there was a gentleman in front of me already complaining of bugs also, on a different floor. Resultz after i waitdd a week or so on "an exterminator inspection " were ridiculous. They told me "no bugs " although i had video and pituures of their hotel room with bed bugs dead and alive cockroaches the same and bed bug stains on both beds. Owner is pocketing all the money and not paying for necessary exterminator. Also they conveniently weren't accepting any payment but cash the 3 times i was there( holiday weekend). Although the machine did work to accept a tip from a lady in front of me. hmm.. tax evasion maybe?? Good luck to the owner.

    There was a gap of about 2" open to the outside over the air-conditioner, which was plugged into an uncovered outlet immediately next to it. There were several broken fixtures. The mattress was filthy. The shower stall had black mold. The faucet leaked a steady stream. I asked for another room and was denied. I asked for a refund and was denied. I left.

    So they don't tell you the property requires a $100 CASH deposit upon check in for "incidentals". There are holes in the walls, reeked of pot everywhere, leaking fixtures. Carpet was filthy, lights didn't work in the room. Upon checkout you have to stay so they can check the room before you leave so you have a chance to get your deposit back at all. Even the waffle house in the parking lot boarded up and got out....would never have booked if I knew it was this bad. Stayed one night and left at 5am. Place needs serious help.

    Bugs! No freakin water! Hot water only and cuts off and on in my room! We had 3 rooms. I am calling the health dept and reporting this unhealthy and unsafe place!!! Plugs did not work, maybe 2! Light switches did not work! Filthy! I slept in my clothes!!! The website is deceitful with their pictures! I liked super 8 before the crap place!!!!! I have videos more than photos! They show more.     Nowadays when you think of super eight you think of a quick place to get some rest I’ve stayed at this hotel before and I didn’t give nobody any problems because that’s not what I came there to do I came here to get my rest and go by my way When I checked into my hotel room the room smelled but since I already paid and it was late I just stayed and I always bring my wax warmer with me so when it was time to go home the lady tried to say I smoked when I don’t smoke at all I try to tell her that it was my wax warmer I don’t smoke they told me was having a wax warmer is against policy I asked to see the policy they never showed it to me so they took half of my deposit this is the first time I’ve ever been through this and now it’ll be the last so just be careful When staying here because the lady behind that desk most of the time she has a very nasty attitude and make up rules as they go
