Everything! Beautiful grounds, great breakfast!

Debbie runs a great inn. Beautifully maintained, great service, good tasting breakfast, homey warm atmosphere. So relaxing. We will be back.
- 3.5/5
Breakfast didn't meet expectations...unfortunately a/c stopped working in the middle of the night (was 80 degrees in room; shower water pressure was weak and shower water temperature was slightly cool to almost warm
- 5/5
The unique style of the property and rooms. The garden was just a nice place to sit and relax. The helpful staff and ease of parking and access. Advance signage of the Inn when approaching as the entrance is not apparent until you are on top of it! A simple kettle and tea bags for us tea drinking guests would have been appreciated.
- 4.5/5
Great location and beautiful place. Attendant is kind and a local so great to talk too. Might be nice to do a wine hour do you can talk with others.
- 5/5
Seems secluded but on a main road and close to the beach. Wonderful breakfast and top notch hospitality.
- 3.5/5
My favorite part was the very pretty, atrium style dining room and yummy breakfast. We also used the adjoining comfortable and lovely living room to watch a little TV. Our room wasn't the best, since it was small and didn't have a nice view.. The bathroom, although very cute with tile and frog theme, was tiny without any counter space. I also wouldn't recommend St. Simon island if you aren't a golfer. Its history of being 80% black owned and Gullah culture is almost completely erased except for the little Harrington school house. It's all upscale houses and golf courses. Bland.
- 5/5
It was off the busy path, yet close to places of interest. Nothing
- 5/5
Very nice staff. The Inn is quite cozy and easy to locate. Nothing.
- 3/5
Tiny bathroom. Furnishings in room were subpar. Didn’t get my breakfast order right. Didn’t have the feel of a B&B.
- 5/5
Great breakfast choices. Convenient location and roomy rooms
- 5/5
We had to wait for our room to be cleaned even at 430
- 5/5
Debi the Inn Keeper was great. Easy check in , very convenient, and so adorable. The grounds were beautiful and the complementary breakfast was outstanding. I will book again.
- 4.5/5
Convenient to pier area. Landscaping, style of inn. Friendly inn keeper. Nice breakfast options and delicious. Coffee maker in room may need updating. Or at least an information sheet as to how much water to add (no fill line on coffee machine) and steps to follow.

This place is amazing! Beautiful room (palm Court) overlooking pond and gazebo. Excellent breakfast and timing. Excellent location! Excellent hostess Debi!!!! Very worth the price!

Beautiful, serene property. Very comfortable room, service was very friendly and accomodating. Thanks for making us feel at home and very comfortable. Coffee could be better, just saying...
- 5/5
The room was beautiful . We had a screened in balcony overlooking the fountain and pond. Very quiet and peaceful. The breakfasts were delicious and prepared perfectly. Debi was an excellent host.

Ms Debi is such a sweet lady! The breakfast was delicious everyday. The place was beautiful and

I just “warn” anyone on the bigger side - the bathroom would not work for you I am 5’4” @128lbs and it was tight - lol. Breakfast was fine - but really special to report back.
- 5/5
It almost seen like it was I first visited. The hostess greeted us on arrival. The room we choose was from the previous stay early this year. The breakfast was delicious and home made served with juice and coffee. The beach was breathtaking and beautiful. We visited some historic sites as well.
- 5/5
Very nice, clean and quiet and good breakfast
- 4/5
Beautiful property, nicely kept with a good parking spot, quiet and great breakfast. Unfortunately, we had only lukewarm to cold water to shower in the first day. It was repaired the second day. I would recommend a little more time span for breakfast rather than just 9AM.
- 5/5
The Grey Owl was a precious surprise! We (3 adults) had the best room, Melody's Roost, and it was spectacular! Stained glass decor, massage beds (!), a sleeper sofa with privacy screen--it's listed for 5 but it could sleep 4 adults and 2 well behaved small children on that sofa bed. The tub and shower in the master bath are epic. The room was quiet, and the grounds were gated so parking felt as secure as my home garage! Teresa greeted us and was so sweet! She gave us the full tour and offered help with our bags up the single flight of stairs. My 89 year old friend with the double knee replacement made the climb, and she said it was completely worth it when she saw the room! Breakfast was hot and served to (pre) order! We all want to visit again, maybe make a long weekend of it. Keycode entries, directions to the beach, and soothing neighborhood. A gorgeous, spacious, repeatable stay worth every penny!
- 5/5
Very private and more than comfortable!! Debbie the inn keeper was fantastic to say the least!! We will be back for sure!!
- 5/5
The Gray Owl is a charming B&B slightly off the beaten path but convenient to everything on the island. It is a very quiet retreat with a pretty pond with fountain. The breakfasts were great and Betty was an excelllent host.
- 5/5
The hostess was very nice and the home reminded me of home. Breakfast was delicious and service’s with a smile. Very knowledgeable of the areas (dining, tourism and where to get drinks. The yard was well maintained and very beautiful ( very colorful plants). Will be returning in the fall. Thanks for a a memorable visit. Tye/Mike
- 5/5
We had a wonderful stay!
- 5/5
One of the best B&B's we've ever stayed in. It certainly lived up to it's website and delivered everything it promised. The setting was particularly lovely with the pond and beautiful old trees, and the owner was gracious and helpful without being intrusive. We look forward to going back!
- 4/5
The room was spacious, bright, and comfortable. We were surprised when the bed was not made or towels replaced, as we were not advised that the management did not service the rooms at all during our stay. We did request more coffee, and it was left outside the room for us. The breakfasts were delicious, hot, and made to order. The inn is centrally located, and it was easy to get to attractions and the beach. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.
- 5/5
I loved the property with its fountain pond and lush landscaping. It is within walking distance to the beaches and some very nice eateries. My room was themed about Dr. Albert Schweitzer and the safari camp where HRM Elizabeth II was staying when she inherited the throne upon her father's passing. The whole property is just filled with such details from books to gardens. And the breakfast in the sun room overlooking the garden was delicious and so relaxing (soothing if you will). Staff was awesome and helpful in finding things to see locally.
- 5/5
We enjoy our stay every time we have been!
- 5/5
Beautiful quaint facility in wonderful location. Room and bed comfortable but lacked a closet or place for hanging clothes. Service was friendly and helpful. Delicious breakfast.
- 4/5
Beautiful place, up-to-date and comfortable. Small number of units so it felt intimate and easy to access for day trips.
- 5/5
Great place to stay!
- 5/5
WOW!!!! This is a true hidden gem tucked away in the heart of St. Simons. We will never stay anywhere else when we visit the Golden Isles.
- 5/5
Wow, this place was great, from the room, to the grounds, to the breakfast, and especially the hostess. They knocked it out of the park. No doubt that we'll be back.
- 4/5
Didn’t like limited breakfast choice. Prefer other B & B’s that have several side choices offered each day for all main entrees, ie fruit, meats, breads, juices.
- 5/5
And engaging in keeper. Wonderful made hoping to order breakfast. A good addition would be the availability of a few beach cruiser bicycles with baskets on site for guests to use.
- 5/5
Wonderful place to stay while vacationing at Saint Simon’s Island. Breakfast is wonderful and the host is very gracious and helpful with sharing tourist spots and events happening on the island.
- 4/5
We spent our 7 year anniversary at The Grey owl inn it was so relaxing, clean & cozy….it’s a very nice place to stay 👌
- 5/5
Loved staying here! We will be back.
- 5/5
The breakfasts were fantastic! The property is a beautiful oasis. Stay here, look no further.
- 5/5
Lovely location; very picturesque setting. Delicious breakfast. Debi was a very friendly host. I wish I had returned here for the last few days of my stay on St. Simons Island, instead of the other place I went to. If I come back, I will spend more time at Grey Owl. The elevator was a wonderful convenience; we did not have to tote our bags up and down the stairs.
- 5/5
This place was amazing, you felt right at home the moment you walked in. The grounds are so well maintained and the Inn is spotless. Debi the Inn keeper was so friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was outstanding.
- 5/5
Very charming Inn. Large, comfortable rooms. Sunny breakfast area. Debbie, the Inn keeper is very accommodating
- 5/5
Lovely Inn. Very comfortable rooms, spacious. Sunny breakfast room. Debbie, the Inn keeper was very accommodating.
- 4/5
We needed the lift which was broken. No adjustment was made because of this. No daily maid service was offered or mentioned. Otherwise, the place is lovely with lots of special features. The daily full breakfast is wonderful.
- 5/5
We had a lovely time at this Inn last week. The Inn is so charming, the custom breakfast was great and the hospitality was very inviting.
- 5/5
The property was well kept and the room and breakfast exceeded expectations.
- 5/5
The Grey Owl Inn is a real gem. The rooms are clean and quiet. Great linens and the breakfast alone is makes the stay worthwhile. We very much enjoyed our stay. Thank you Debi and Bill!
- 4/5
The Grey Owl Inn is a retreat within a retreat. The setting is lovely, the rooms are whimsically decorated, and it is located conveniently to all the local sights.
- 5/5
Beautiful property impeccably updated and maintained
- 5/5
Absolutely incredibly nice place with incredibly hospitable hosts
- 3/5
Parking was good. Breakfast was good. The property manager was great. The bad was the building is old. Capet need to be replaced. Shower needs to be updated Rainfall shower head that’s not in use needs to be removed since it had some gross looking mold growing on it. The outside area needed cleaning. We tried to sit outside to enjoy a drink but couldn’t because the table in the gazebo was oily and dirt was stuck to it. Bench seat was too dirty to sit on. It was way over priced for what you got. Only worth about half of what we paid. It wasn’t aweful but I wouldn’t recommend this place.
- 5/5
It was our second stay at the inn and we enjoyed it very much. We got to have breakfast this time which was very nice.
- 5/5
It is a charming place !
- 5/5
Beautifully decorated and the breakfast.... Delicious! I would definitely recommend to anyone staying in St Simmons... couples or friends!
- 5/5
Expected a bed and breakfast experience but got so much more. We will be back.
- 5/5
Gracious and comfortable property surrounded by beautiful grounds. The location was excellent for exploring St. Simons Island.
- 5/5
Delightful stay, with beautifully landscaped property. Room was very comfortable, but bathroom was tight. Good breakfast, prepared to order.
- 5/5
Grounds were beautiful. Room was clean and had everyrhing we needed. Breakfast was excellent.
- 5/5
The Grey Owl Inn is adorable and such a cute, unique spot on SSI! We loved our room - Frog Hollow - and the bed was so comfortable. The property itself is gorgeous and serene. The Innkeeper, Debi, was helpful and kind. Plus, she made us a delicious breakfast with good coffee. We highly recommend the Grey Owl Inn for anyone looking to relax and rejuvenate!
- 5/5
Debbie, the Innkeeper, was southern hospitality at its' finest, and we were surprised to receive a visit from Bill, the Inn's owner, while having some wine and cheese one beautiful afternoon under the gazebo. He shared a bit of the property history, including the renovations he oversaw after acquiring the house and property. Of and when we return to St Simons, we will DEFINITELY be staying again at the Grey Owl.
- 5/5
The inn was absolutely beautiful and spotless. The location was perfect and Debi was a thoughtful and attentive host. Daily breakfast was delicious and obviously prepared with great care. Our stay was excellent...a 10 out of 10. I would highly recommend the Grey Owl Inn
- 4/5
This inn is beautiful. We were lucky to have checked in just as the owner was also entering the property. He gave us a tour and history of the inn. Loved the personal attention. The room, Frog Hollow, was also very nice and clean. However, the bathroom is very small, maybe even smaller than on a cruise ship. Also, I was very excited to sit in the screened in porch to enjoy my morning coffee, but this room has the porch facing all the air conditioners so the noise was a drawback. Breakfast was wonderful. Location is also good. We were able to walk to the WWII museum, the beach, and several dinner places. Look for Southern Soul BBQ and Fiddlers, they are close by and wonderful. All in all I would stay here again, but pick a different room.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay at this lovely B&B. Breakfasts were delicious! We would definitely come again.
- 5/5
Beautiful
- 5/5
Treetop is awesome!
- 5/5
This was a last minute decision to get away for the weekend. We enjoy the St. Simmons area and found the Grey Owl Inn while searching for available places to stay. We really enjoyed our stay at the Inn. Our room was Frog Hollow. Bed was comfortable, private bathroom with essentials provided. Breakfast was amazing!! We ate in the cute little sunroom! We'll definitely stay again!
- 3/5
It’s a beautiful place but during our stay someone decided to smoke marihuana in their rooms. The hallway and our room smelled like skunk. Smoking (no matter what) should be done outside, since the hotel have a non smoking rule. We had to asked for candles and bought one ourselves, to try to be able to breathe comfortably. I was very disappointed. New mattress was needed in the room, same as softer pillows. Breakfast was wonderful and perfect service. In general the place is lovely, if only everyone will follow the regulations. Someone felt entitled to break it.
- 5/5
Enjoyed our stay. The accommodations were excellent and the staff was great. Will definitely comeback.
- 5/5
The Inn is surrounded by beautiful grounds and gardens, and with an equally pleasing surroundings indoors. The rooms were well appointed with the staff attending to all needs. The breakfast was totally amazing and very filling. What a little gem of a place!
- 5/5
The grounds are very well landscaped and with a boardwalk, gazebo, pond, and old fashioned porch swing. The breakfast was generous and good.
- 5/5
Beautiful, elegant, friendly, designed for comfort and convenience, delicious breakfast, garden and grounds excellent.
- 4/5
It was a nice, safe location, very convenient to town. People staying there were nice. Room was nice and cozy. Shower heads needed cleaning.
- 5/5
We had a great stay. The breakfast was Amazing.
- 5/5
In room temperature control with fan was fantastic! Location was perfect for immediate access to almost anywhere on island. 3 minutes to beach. Was not able to eat breakfast offered at 9:00. am due to prior business commitments. Much nicer than over priced hotels!
- 5/5
Very friendly, beautiful room and a wonderful breakfast
- 5/5
Owls roost was very comfy! Grounds have beautiful flowers and pond with a swing. Would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Amazing place where you truly feel like a guest in someone's home. Great food, beautiful and peaceful surroundings, and very relaxing. Easy walk to sights and downtown.
- 5/5
Everything was amazing!!! Bed was super comfortable, cute screened in balcony to sit on, close to restaurants and shops and best of all heated towels!!!!!!
- 2/5
We were lead to a back door and given no information about dinner location or transportation just seemed like staff wanted to be fine w us.
- 5/5
This is an inn that is quiet yet conveniently located to SSI attractions and dining. Innkeeper Debbie is the perfect host and cooks up a great breakfast.
- 5/5
Owner delightful. Room fresh and clean. Bed comfortable. Serene pond and water feature. Definitely do this again. Worth the trip.
- 4/5
Its a lovely extended house, with a breakfast sun room that looks out on a beautiful garden and pond. Its right off a main road that isn't the safest for walking along to get to the picturesque village that's only a mile or so away. However, there is a path you can take from the back of the property that goes directly to the beach, about 1/2 mile away. One negative is that the inn keeper wasn't very friendly when we arrived possibly because we were wearing masks as a precaution.
- 5/5
Definitely, will stay again..
- 5/5
The facility was quiet and cozy. The manager was very friendly, and the breakfast was amazing!
- 5/5
The Grey Owl Inn is an absolutely stellar facility with all the warmth and friendliness of home, special touches everywhere, the comfort of the bed and pillows is something to “hoot” about. Breakfast was amazing, our hostess, Debi, suggested “The Half Shell” for dinner in the village last night. A perfect stay, and a place to which we will return.
- 3/5
Water in the room hot tub was extremely hot but lukewarm in the shower. Bathroom was nice but our room was a bit “tired and worn”, and the microwave did not work in our room: however, it was clean and roomy. When I asked for decaf coffee at breakfast the waitress said it would take a long time and in fact she did not know how to do it. Another morning my tea water was only warm not hot enough to brew it. Two mornings the chef left before breakfast was served at 9:00am meaning it was being kept warm either in an oven or microwave without any flexibility for change. Breakfast was less than adequate. For the cost of the room, details like these should be addressed. The staff was friendly and helpful when asked about the area, recommendations for dining etc.
- 3/5
The grounds and exterior were beautiful. The microwave did not work, the waitress could not make decaf coffee. The food was mediocre to below average. Will not return.
- 5/5
Beautiful place to stay.
- 5/5
Close to downtown shops restaurants
- 5/5
The Inn was beyond my expectations. We loved everything about it beginning with a warm welcome and ending with a please come back which we will. I’ve stayed many places on the island and this is my favorite. We sat on the screened porch and enjoyed the gazebo lights and fountain at night and the birds in the morning. So much attention to detail. The breakfast was delicious.
- 5/5
Wonderful experience! Thank you so much for making my daughter's stay so enjoyable. The food was great and so was the staff (especially Ms. Fry). Would definitely recommend.
- 5/5
Location!!!!
- 5/5
Wonderful place and room! Great breakfast, grounds. Highly recommended!
- 5/5
We stayed in the Treetops room which was superb. It has it's own balcony, 2 showers (one with a tub), and a kitchenette. The property has a beautiful garden with a pond and gazebo. The breakfast was very good. also, there are lots and lots of books to peruse.
- 5/5
The property is beautiful and service was great.
- 5/5
Beautiful property, clean and spacious rooms, private screened balcony with views. Friendly staff and delicious breakfast. Everything about this place was awesome!!
- 5/5
The property was immaculate and the location was convenient to beaches, shopping, and sightseeing.
- 5/5
Fantastic getaway for an anniversary trip!! First time at a bed and breakfast. Accommodations were amazing and the inn manager was super friendly—made us feel right at home. Would highly recommend.
- 4/5
I had trouble getting into my room. The on-site manager said she would send me the door code and she did not. After check-in, turned around and the door locked before I could get to my room where the door number was. Called three times and got no answer and did not find her until I went strolling through the property where she was drinking champagne.
- 5/5
Highly recommend!
- 5/5
We were on our honeymoon and we will definitely be back. Debi Fry was awesome! She surprised us with champagne after the wedding! Everything about the Grey Owl is great, from the accommodations to the breakfast!

A hidden gem! What a treat for an anniversary night and wasn’t too expensive. They surprised us with a bottle of Prosecco on ice. Breakfast was superb and I can’t say enough great things about this property; we will definitely go back!
