Reviews
The hotel is generally well-liked for its cleanliness, spacious rooms, and friendly staff. The breakfast is often praised, but some guests find it underwhelming. The property is pet-friendly and recently renovated, but noise from other guests can be an issue.
- Cleanliness and spaciousness of rooms
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Noise from other guests
- Breakfast quality varies
- 5/5
Nice hotel with lots around! Places to eat, shopping for necessities. Very clean, spacious room, great breakfast!!!
- 5/5
Staff was very attentive.
- 2/5
Breakfast was very simple and pretty much the same. The pullout sofa bed was very stiff with wires poking into the back. The king bed was nice though.
- 5/5
Felt safe and rested. Would use this facility again
- 3/5
The main issue this stay was the amount of kids slamming doors morning and night. The talk to the coaches did no good. Very disappointing this stay at a hotel I have stayed at multiple times before. Be better. That team and group should have been asked to leave and check out immediately. Not sure we will return.

Superb
- 4/5
Comfortable bed, couch, large room, cleanliness, close proximity to restaurants and I-5, generous breakfast, cookies upon check-in! Noise from the street, couldn't locate blackout curtains so too much light in room at night, coffeemaker.
- 3.5/5
Big room, nice staff. A bit on the outskirts of of town.
- 4/5
Fine, good. Tables were sticky, needed wiping.
- 4/5

Easy to find Lighting over vanity/sink too bright. Annoying because it is in the area of the bed.

- 5/5
Hotel Salem is my Go To property for years during my frequent stays in Salem. The professional-friendly staff, substantial breakfast, convenient location to all dining, shopping, and transportation all make this place truly a home away from home. I travel the Western states and consider this to be the best value for the money I've encountered. I didn't give you the 5 star ratings, YOU EARNED IT!
- 3/5
The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the towels were nice. The staff was very friendly and efficient.
- 5/5
Location. The room was large and comfortable for two people. Good breakfast. No complaints
- 4/5
Very good
- 4.5/5
Staff was great. Breakfast better than most similar hotels. Didn't care for the room layout. Bathroom was very small and sink area was not in bath area? Very old style room layout.
- 5/5
The breakfast was a breakfast buffet. We had a choice of a few different things. The lady that worked in the kitchen was great clean right on it very clean good.
- 5/5
The staff are very pleasant. Every time we walked they greeted us asked if we needed anything
- 5/5
Very clean and roomy, with an awesome assortment of breakfast items, from juices and cereals to eggs, bacon and biscuits & gravy. That’s why we stay here several times each year!
- 5/5
Such a great find in South Salem. Enjoyed the ability to go for walks in the nearby neighborhood.
- 4/5
Very good
- 3/5
The staff was very nice and greeted us every time we entered the lobby!
- 5/5
The room was awesome. The bed and pillows totally awesome. The breakfast was exceptional. Anything you would ever want. Very fresh and absolutely delicious Nothing
- 2/5
Staff should accommodate teams such as baseball teams on the ground floor. They were above us and we got no sleep, noisy bunch. Other than that it would have been a good stay.
- 5/5
I loved my stay. The room was clean with a comfortable bed. The Hotel Salem has easy access to I-5 and close to grocery stores, restaurants, and gas stations. Friendly staff. I'll definitely be back on future visits.

- 4/5
Great roadtrip sleepover! Clean and comfortable room. Breakfast had something for each of us. Nice staff!
- 5/5
Daniel at the front desk was so pleasant. It was great to feel welcomed. The place was clean and neat…. laundry for a buck was really good. That was a great spot to do laundry. Thanks for the complementary soap. Daniel great stay overall.
- 4/5
Breakfast was abundant. Room was spacious, 3/4 wall dividing sleeping area from mini living room was nice. The location, though away from downtown, worked well being on the main road. Lots of free parking.
- 3/5
I feel bad writing this because the rest of the staff was very kind and accommodating, asking for a pillow or blanket should not be a huge deal, let alone simply checking in should be met with friendliness and welcoming. I should have cancelled my reservation at that moment.
- 5/5
This property was great. The staff was courteous, polite and answered my many questions. The luggage racks help load my suitcases and it fit in the room! The microware, refrigerator and coffee maker were awesome - it had a good size counter for me to cut things on. I do wish the coffee make was a keurig so I could bring my own coffee. There was coffee in the lobby with wonderful cookies. The breakfast was plentiful - enjoyed the eggs, ham and biscuits/gravy - plus so much more, just about anything you wanted was there without a cook to order. The breakfast opened at 6:30 and was hard to eat and travel to my conference - saw many people that said they couldn't attend and get to their engagements. The bathroom was small but it only had a toilet and tub/shower - wish the toilet sat higher. Appreciated the grab bars in the bathing area. The sink/counter were outside which had great space to sit all my products on. The TV swiveled because the area with the couch, desk and the bed-great. There was plenty of light in addition to opening the blackouts, curtains and drapes. Plenty of room for my five suitcases and a cooler! It was very clean, and maids were easy to find. Ample free parking. The only real negative was that there was not a clock in the lobby but there was one in the breakfast area.
- 4/5
Breakfast was delicious, no food vending machine so you have to bring your own snacks. Ice only available on lobby floor. No hot tub but small pool. The room was spacious and clean, but bathroom was small for a tall person. Don't book first floor if looking for a view.
- 5/5
Whenever we are staying in Salem this is the place to stay!! Always friendly and eager to meet your needs!!
- 4/5
Nice hotel. Staff is friendly. Close to many restaurants and shops. Decent breakfast served daily. Lots of coffee (Which I love, ha!)
- 4/5
Breakfast was only saved by the waffle machines and the ability to add cocoa to the coffee. Parking and hotel felt safe. Was pretty out dated but still clean enough. Staff was all super friendly.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff, Breakfast was awesome, Parking is easy and plenty of spaces.
- 5/5
Clean: satisfactory breakfast. Parking was adequate. Near stores, restaurants.
- 5/5
We enjoy staying here when we visit Salem
- 5/5
The staff were exceptionally friendly and the room was exactly as advertised.
- 4/5
I love the location because it is very close to my family. They have good restaurants around the area. Parking is easy
- 5/5
For the location and price this place was perfect! Staff was so attentive every time we walked in the door they had a hello or how can I help you, acknowledging us everytime. That is amazing to me. Great service, great stay.

- 5/5
Clean room. Nice beds. Nice breakfast.
- 5/5
The breakfast was fine, nothing fancy or elaborate, but gets you going in the morning.
- 5/5
Parking was well lit, breakfast had good variety and the beds were great!
- 5/5
Great stay
- 4/5
The rooms were clean, the breakfast was good and the staff was welcoming and helpful. Though the street they’re on is very busy, the room was very quiet.
- 4/5
Disappointed there was no hot tub as in the pictures of the property it showed there was one. Also the pool closed at 9pm and in my experience that is very early and we never used it due to not being back from our adventures in time.
- 3/5
If you are one of the people that expects a hotel to feed you, then this hotel will disappoint you...the accommodations matter most to me and so I will say that overall they're sufficient for a clean and comfortable place to stay for a reasonable price and they are also near the freeway and food. The layout is odd because the sinks are outside of the shower/tub area (which then congests that space), but you then have the benefit of people can get ready at sinks while someone showers. The pillows are comfortable but the beds are firm, so if you need a softer mattress this place isn't for you. The walls aren't that thick so you will be mad if you are noise sensitive (I could hear the man snoring in the hotel room next to us). Both times we stayed here the room had a slight odor (most likely from the carpet) but it wasn't overpowering. This is definitely one of those places for the "we aren't in the room much" type of travelers but you don't want to stay at a dump hotel either. It was respectable for the price.
- 5/5
Convenient price, walls are thin
- 4/5
The Hotel Salem has a nice breakfast selection and good seating options. The beds were comfortable and our room was quiet.
- 5/5
Clean, safe, kind and friendly staff, etc etc etc. Stay here often, as a traveling nurse on contract nearby. No complaints. Always VERY helpful. Seriously, no concerns.

- 5/5
Breakfast was superb; parking convenient
- 5/5
Clean room and nice staff.
- 5/5
Breakfast was excellent. Did not use parking.
- 3/5
Room was clean but a bit muggy when we first entered. Smelled a little musty. Would stay again if convenient but would also consider other options.
- 5/5
The room was nice and clean. Everything in it
- 5/5
We stay every time we’re passing through while visiting family. Quaint and quiet.
- 3/5
Room was spacious and clean. Hotel feels dated.
- 5/5
Room was clean, the breakfast was stocked and ready for guests. Staff were all ver friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable bed, helpful staff.

The Staff was great and the location was conveniently located.

Old carpet and old building.

TOO MANY ISSUES WITH THIS HOTEL SALEM ON OUR STAY. We checked-in late around 9 PM. After being outside watching 2 college baseball games in the cold, we just wanted to go to the hotel and go to sleep. The first issue was my keycard was NOT opening the door so I used my wife's keycard which worked. The second issue was the left sink was not draining, luckily the right sink was working. The third issue was the body wash container was empty so we used the small hand bar soap when taking a shower. The fourth issue was they had 2 maintenance workers come in our room in the morning to check the fire sprinkler while we were in the room eating breakfast. We checked out the next morning and the front desk person said their system was down. I informed the front desk these issues at check out so they can fix it for the next person staying in that room. I travel a lot and this was not a pleasant experience at the Hotel Salem.
- 5/5
Breakfast was excellent and the room was clean, comfortable and a very nice size.
- 4/5
A newer facility near the freeway but a few miles from downtown.
- 5/5
They are pet friendly!, My lil man got a a mini treat upon check in and our room assignment has a quick access to the grass area. Parking was safe, we were given a neon color paper identifying our car is a legit guest of the hotel, stating our check out date. Our room was super clean, spacious, and bed was super comfy!!! A huge plus! The breakfast lady was hospitable and well groomed serving wide selection of freshly breakfast choices. There were proteins, make your own waffles station next to a selection of cereal. This area is sold out to my not so young kids! There’s oatmeal w/ your choice of add ons, fruits, pasties, coffee and juices. I was impressed with the customer service and the amenities this hotel offers. At night, you feel safe as the main door can only be accessed using your key card! The pool water was clean and warm. Fresh and very white towels were sufficiently provided. They have laundry area, functioning ice machines, vending machines accessible to every guests! This is worth recommending to friends and family. If I need accomodation in that area in the future, will definitely stay with them 100%!
- 4/5
We had a great stay
- 3/5
The room was old, smelled a little. Lots of people smoking in parking lot.
- 5/5
Perfect for location proximity to doctors visits.
- 3/5
I stayed for only one night. It was comfortable and clean, however I got very little sleep because the basketball team above my room were rowdy until 2:30 AM so I got very little sleep.
- 5/5
Hotel was clean and staff was nice. Breakfast had a good variety and was good. The room was bigger than expected and the bed was comfortable. The shower water pressure was really, really good. Area was safe and like the walk ability to restaurants and groceries. Enjoyed the indoor pool, but would have like a hot tub as well.
- 3/5
No hot tub. Kids running through the halls late at night. Weak gym… weak tv service. staff okay. Great pillow
- 5/5
Our room was spacious and clean. It was nice that our room was on the bottom floor which it made it easy to take our dog out to potty.
- 5/5
Stay was very comfortable and quiet
- 5/5
Room was nice, good wifi, super comfy bed and pillows. The complimentary breakfast was great, the indoor pool was amazing, nice big TV in the room. Will definitely be coming again
- 4/5
Room was spacious. Bed was comfortable
- 5/5
Oh my goodness!!!!! This is an amazing hotel!!!! Great location!!!! Great price for the spacious king bed room!!! Desk and chair. 2 sinks. A couch!!! So many amenities!!! Highly recommend!!!!

The staff were friendly and efficient, the rooms spotless and the complimentary breakfast very nice! This is a gem of a place to stay, with reasonable rates and prime location. We'll definitely stay here again!

- 5/5
Wonderful staff. Clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Nice amenities.
- 5/5
The room was great , very clean and the shower was great , breakfast was awesome and a good variety , the eating area was very clean too, excellent value for the $ , staff were all friendly
- 5/5
Always an awesome stay at this property!! We usually stay 4-5 times a year!
- 1/5
Smells of stale smoke, had to come back out of my room because their credit card machine was so delayed and they said I needed to put my card in again. I’m not really sure why this place has such high stars. It’s very old, very musty smelling. Bed was so uncomfortable.
- 4/5
Yes
- 4/5
The room was clean, and we were able to get adjoining rooms so we could spread out but keep the kids close by. The pool was a big attraction, but the water was highly chlorinated and led to some irritation on my youngest grandson who has more sensitive skin. Breakfast was a typical hotel breakfast bar, nothing special, but filled the bill for another day of travel.
- 5/5
Clean rooms, great staff . The breakfast was good . Easy parking and lots of places near by to eat .
- 5/5
Had a quick visit at the Hotel Salem. It was clean, area was safe and staff were friendly.
- 4/5
Breakfast staff was friendly (the rest wasn’t unfriendly, just spoke to them more). Hotel was generally clean- I did notice a bar soap left in our shower though. The building seems older and could use a reno (noticed in my aunts room the bathroom door was pretty banged up and ragged lol) but generally am not deterred from staying again:)
- 5/5
Great clean room , I got very sick so only spent a very short time at the hotel but the front desk were so great and helpful
- 5/5
Everything was great. Breakfast had many options. Great area for your pet. All in all we had a great stay!!!
- 5/5
It was comfortable staying.
- 4/5
Clean and a very nice breakfast buffet.
- 5/5
Room was spotless. Great friendly staff. Hot breakfast. Free upgrade as we booked a pet room by accident.
- 5/5
Spacious and comfortable room. Loved the shower- great water pressure and so much hot water. Breakfast was delicious. Staff was friendly and helpful. What more could you want?
- 4/5
Spacious rooms, great facilities, and very good service.
- 5/5
Amazing staff, clean rooms, eco friendly and convenient in the area.
- 5/5
We stay here several times year.. love it!
- 5/5
Everything was perfect, from check in to check out. Staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was so beautiful and extremely clean, the property was very well maintained, breakfast was good I enjoyed that they had hot eggs and sausage. Definitely would come back.
- 5/5
We have stayed multiple times. This time we were short on towels and washcloths for two people. I’m sure we could have gotten more, if we asked, but we were too tired to pursue it, at the time we checked in. Still, we would come back.
- 4/5
Room was clean but had a funky smell to it. Pool area was cold and pool wasn't much warmer. Beds were very comfy, pillows a little flat but slept good. Checkin was very welcoming, quick and easy. We stayed with our 2 youngest children and will probably stay again if the chance comes up again. Cant vote on breakfast as we had to leave before breakfast started.
- 4/5
Clean rooms, updated property, decent breakfast included with your stay. Would have rated higher but thin walls let in noise from hall and others rooms.
- 3/5
Internet was exceedingly slow.
- 2/5
Subpar items, eggs are gross… waffles are good but everything else was worse then a gas station breakfast
- 5/5
Yes. Comfortable. Very pleasant staff.
- 4/5
Driving from Seattle to SAn Francisco with a dog. I was there for 1 night. Property has a good dog area and my dog loved it.
- 5/5
Clean and quiet
- 5/5
Room is great, Kimberley checked me in and she was wonderful :)
- 5/5
Great staff, great free hot breakfast, super clean rooms, and a very good rate.
- 5/5
Easy to find and check-in. Clean and well maintained. Google directions from North say to go past hotel but entrance is on south side of hotel so when you see hotel prepare to turn east into driveway. Room was spacious and clean. Opted to eat breakfast out so no opinion. Did not use wifi. Will stay again if in area.
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
The room was clean and the staff was friendly.
- 5/5
Loved my stay here.. everything was awesome!
- 5/5
We’ve stayed here multiple times. Consistently meets our needs. Very friendly and helpful staff.
- 5/5
Room was very nice. Breakfast was a little sparse. With the addition of just a few things it could have been much better. Overall I would stay there again. Also the fitness room would have been great if it had a water cooler in there.
- 5/5
One of the nicest and most affordable for what you get.
- 5/5
The room was very clean, and the staff is very courteous.
- 5/5
This was a nice hotel that was quiet and clean. With prices through the roof in Albany because of OSU game the short drive was well worth the savings.
- 5/5
Nice hotel and best choice in South Salem
- 1/5
Didn’t stay
- 5/5
Easy check in and friendly staff
- 5/5
Clean room. Pleasant staff.
- 5/5
Excellent customer service. Thank you
- 5/5
Nice sized room for 2 people. Frig, coffee pot and microwave. Big breakfast included; with cookies at night. Easy parking; quiet room
- 5/5
We love Hotel Salem, My husband and I have stayed here many times. Great staff, beds are conformable and they have breakfast every morning.
- 4/5
The staff were amazing, super friendly and acomadating. Breakfast was great as well.
- 5/5
Clean room, easy/fast check in, pleasant staff.
- 3/5
Staff nice, hotel a but old but in ok condition
- 5/5
Best handicapped hotel shower: bath chair provided, plenty of grab bars and the wall-fixed soap and shampoo dispensers were easy to reach.
- 5/5
Great staff
- 5/5
Staff at check in were very friendly, the room was lovely and comfortable. My only thought is: we were in a handicap room on the lower level, perhaps the handicap room should be on the lobby level in case of emergencies and not being able to use the elevator. The staff at morning check out was also very engaging and friendly.
- 3/5
Not as central to downtown as I would have liked, about three miles away. Bed was fine, room was large, everything was clean, just very dated. Someone was having a party upstairs late into the night with music so sound insulation isn’t great. Other than that it was satisfactory, but if I’m in Salem again I’ll choose something closer to downtown.
- 5/5
Pleasant hotel, but noisy outside in the hallway
- 2/5
Room smell not good. Too old.
- 5/5
Breakfast was great. Not much for gluten-free for me, but my kids loved it.
- 4/5
Fantastic service, comfy room, good amenities, and free breakfast was a great perk.
- 5/5
Staff were nice- clean room. Close to places to eat. We loved our stay.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay and the staff was great
- 4/5
Bed and pillows were comfy and we had a relaxing evening and great sleep.
- 5/5
Great location and quiet for families. The staff were friendly, and the pool was exceptionally clean. The double queen rooms were sold out and we had to use the pull-out for my 10-year-old daughter. The mattress was so bad in the pull-out that it was unusable. The springs in the mattress were painful and the bars in the sofa itself came right through, which makes this dangerous. The staff did give us an extra blanket to cover but we had to remove our king-size quilt from our bed and fold it 3x to make the pull-out usable. If you plan to use the pull-out, I suggest bringing a sleeping bag or booking the double queen room. The king bed itself was comfortable.
- 4/5
Clean and convenient to where our son lives for visits. Excellent service and good breakfast selection.
- 5/5
Sad they didn't have a hot tub but the pool was a warm enough temp is was easy to get in and not feel like you were freezing. The evening was quiet but you can hear prople talking in hallways .
- 5/5
Personnel and cleanliness

- 5/5
Very clean rooms. Very friendly staff. Incredible water pressure!
- 4/5
Comfortable stay.
- 3/5
The staff were very nice and accommodating but the rooms smelled awful.
- 3/5
Stayed in a pet friendly, non smoking room and it smelled of heavily chemical scent trying to mask cigarette smoke
- 5/5
Great staff, clean, nice place to stay
- 5/5
Nice, recommend booking back side of hotel away from the freeway; it has tall cypress trees for quiet. Nice staff, large room has sofa area.
- 5/5
Street out front can be be busy, nice to have drug store and Trader Joes within a block, some dining options across the street
- 5/5
Nice property
- 5/5
Rooms large, beds very comfortable, options for breakfast dining. Toilet paper needs an upgrade
- 5/5
Nice and quiet
- 5/5
The room was clean and welcoming. Front desk service was great. Loved the double sink in the room.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, Comfortable beds, Clean rooms
- 5/5
Staff was super friendly, we have visited Salem often while our son was in college. Sorry we didn’t discover this place earlier.
- 5/5
Just what we needed for the night
- 5/5
Nice place
- 3/5
Nothing wrong with the stay. The hotel is dated. Breakfast was ok. Decent amount of options.
- 5/5
I use this for a medical procedure in Salem OR and it was quite, clean and safe
- 4/5
The bedding colors were nice.
- 4/5
N/A
- 5/5
This made up for the fact that the chlorine smell coming from the indoor pool was pretty strong in the lower floors and stairs.
- 4/5
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with lots of options. The room had a smell like someone had smoked it in at some point. It was noticeable whenever we entered the room. Our room had an adjoining door and our neighbors didn’t seem to understand what it was as they kept banging on it and trying to open it. Maybe explaining to guests would prevent this from happening.
- 2/5
The reason I gave poor review is because the walls were like paper and loud, loud slamming doors. The hotel has recently been beautifully remodeled, the staff are very nice and polite but they forgot to insulate the walls. Snoring sounds through the walls, having to call the desk at 12 and 1 am because of loud TV. Will never stay here again.
- 5/5
Very clean and great breakfast. Great stay
- 5/5
We will definitely book this again.
- 5/5
Staff is lovely. Hotel is clean. A bit older, but nicely maintained. Breakfast was nice.
- 5/5
Hotel Salem is very easy to get to from I-5. The property and surrounding area are nice. Many eateries close by as well as stores to get supplies. They are pet friendly and while we had a tiny 11 week old puppy in a crate, the room was very clean and one would not notice it was a pet friendly room. They are well cleaned.
- 4/5
A little older hotel… but very clean & quiet. Best shower pressure ever! Love it!
- 5/5
The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating!
- 5/5
Friendly, clean and great breakfast options.
- 5/5
Our stay was so nice thanks to an excellent manager named Jasmine Johnson! She was so understanding with me with a bit of confusion and my error with scheduling the dates wrong. I was stressed out and worried about my husband putting me down for it. When he walked up to the counter, she helped me and help me handle it all and very discreetly. It's all worked out and she was so comforting to deal with. Thank you Jasmine and it was a great stay too!

- 5/5
Great hotel and price was decent. All of the staff have been very friendly and welcoming. The kids enjoyed the pool and they even had a few toys to play with. Breakfast had a lot of great options.
- 5/5
Kind people at the front desk
- 3/5
Property kept up but busy area with little walking space.
- 4/5
Whilst there are some curious design elements, the hotel has been recently renovated, and the rooms are slightly bigger than typical. Nice breakfast and room. We had a comfortable and safe stay.
- 4/5
Wi-fi was not very good and hard to get connected
- 4/5
Everything was good. Breakfast was OK. Seemed like a safe neighborhood.
- 5/5
Staff was very welcoming. Room was very clean and spacious.
- 5/5
The lighting in the room and bathroom was the best I've ever encountered. None of this "ambient" lighting that is impossible to see anything in the room. Very nice rooms
- 4/5
I would stay there again
- 5/5
Love this property as a safe place when I need to stay in salem several time a week. I work at the state hospital and this is the BEST and safest option!
- 5/5
Clean and safe hotel! Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was great.
- 5/5
Good location. Good stay
- 4/5
Everything was fine, the only complaint was that they billed my card even though i told them i was paying cash when i checked out.
- 4/5
Would stay again well worth the price.
- 5/5
Great staff, Great room, Great stay!!
- 5/5

This property is great. We've stayed here many times. Always clean, staff have always been kind and respectful, clean rooms and comfortable beds and pillows. Definitely recommend.

It met all of my needs.

Check in went smoothly, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room is wonderful. We have lots of room, it appears clean, it's quiet, and I feel safe. The shower was strong and wonderful. Breakfast was complete and delicious. And real plates and silverware (yay!). The lady who set up breakfast gave great recommendations for our day at Lincoln City. Spot on!! Yes, we would stay here again.

The only thing I had an issue with is the parking - doesn't seem to have enough spaces for the amount of rooms or guests.

Loved our stay! Kids loved the pool. An indoor pool was perfect regardless of the weather!

The staff were absolutely fantastic. They made us feel welcomed from the time we arrived until the time we checked out. I was worried about it be noisy based on previous reviews, but I found it to be peaceful through my 2-day and night stay. I would absolutely recommend this hotel.

Nice updated property. Seems a little pricy for comparable hotels, but nice.

locate in perfect spot for my planned excursions.

Quiet environment and good breakfast. A little old room style where there is a door between two rooms and kids may accidentally unlock them from both sides

We checked in a little late, but the guys in the front were very kind and helpful. We spent one night, and were off to Silver Falls in the morning. The room was spacious, clean and comfy. The breakfast in the morning was the perfect way to get the day started. I would stay here again if in the area.

When we first stepped into our room, we were blown away by how large and well set up it was. I thought maybe we'd been upgraded, but no -- it was a standard king room. It was arranged like a studio apartment with a chest -height pony wall, behind which were a good-sized mini-frudge, and a microwave under a large counter. There was a comfy sofa (two-cushion), a desk and a desk chair. Some of the king rooms may not have pony-walls, but they all have the sofa, desk, etc. There were yummy chocolate chip cookies upon arrival and breakfast was better than the average. All the staff were hospitable and competent. It's a new building, so it's in great shape. We didn't use the indoor pool, but it looked clean and inviting. I was in Salem for an outpatient procedure, and the clinic was an easy, fast, and pleasant drive away. The area has a number of stores and restaurants within easy walking distance. It's in an attractive and quiet neighborhood. I would definitely recommend this hotel, HOWEVER, if you are setting up your GPS, be sure to enter "The Hotel Salem." We just entered "Hotel Salem" and ended up at the Knight Hotel, five miles away from the Hotel Salem.

After that statement, I probably should not have been surprised by the condition of the room. The shower was not clean; hair stuck to the walls, soap built up on the tub, sinks dirty. I don’t know what was on the carpet but it turned the bottom of my feet dirty brown so I ended up wearing shoes the entire time. The breakfast was ok. There was only one clean plate when we arrived. We asked for another clean plate and a lady working said she would get some, we waited a few minutes but she didn’t return. I wondered back to the service area to find someone who worked there and asked again for more plates and to let them know the waffle batter was all gone. A few minutes later an older woman brought out 3 plates to the now 7 people waiting. She proceeded to also bring out a small bowl of eggs and mouth a string of expletives about the mess that was made on the counter. She then went to the overflowing stack of dirty dishes and picked a few dirty plates out and took them to the back, I’m assuming she washed them because she then brought them back out to the folks who were still waiting for plates. The entire situation was uncomfortable.

On a highway, busy, restaurant close, but not walkable.

The property is located in a convenient neighborhood with abundant living supplies. The reception staff exhibited features of friendliness and helpfulness. The room is clean and comfortable. In summary, it's a pleasant stay during our journey.

It was a very good stay for one night. The room was clean, it smelled fresh, the bathroom was up-to-date, and everything worked well. I also appreciate that there is a lot of food and shopping within walking distance.

Nicely renovated.

Hotel was clean and rooms were comfortable and clean. I really like the bed..soft with lots of extra pillows I'm old fashioned but I DID NOT like that I could not CALL the Hotel to confirm my reservation. I'm comfortable with cell phones and computers and didn't mind the confirmation coming through on my Email I didn't like talking to a computer...sorry but AI is not for me. However, I would stay again!!!!! Becky L.

Nice hotel with great front desk staff. Very clean and my kids thought the breakfast was decent. Price was fair and overall a good experience. Recommend it 8/10

From outside great, rating 👌 unfortunately we received a dungeon room in the basement, with a queen bed even that we reserved and pay for a kind bed. Breakfast highly praised by reviews was almost unexistesent and very messy and dirty. Room clean. I guess its all about luck

Hotel was very clean and the staff was great. There were very loud guests in the hotel, many kids sports teams, that were slamming doors. Walls and floors thin, loud steps above if you’re not on the top floor.

Was a very lean hotel and had very nice rooms. The staff was very helpful. Location isn't too central but close to quite a few shops
