Staff were so so nice, great places to eat in the area, and despite there being so many end-of-summer concert goers in town, it was so quiet, I had no problem sleeping! Will definitely come back!

Older motel, but very clean and the staff were very kind and helpful. Bed was a little stiff, but definitely seemed newer.

I woke up at 4 am (Sunday am) to doors slamming. Every 10 - 15 minutes, a door would slam. I counted about 25 door slams.
- 4/5
Priced right and quiet.
- 4/5
Nice family-run hotel. I was given an upgrade to a larger room as well.
- 3/5
y for ice at the ice machine. My feet got dirty just walking barefoot in the room, so it would be nice if they mopped the floor surfaces more thoroughly. The bath soap would be too small for hand soap, much less for bath use. Otherwise, the room was adequate, the bed was nice and firm, and the staff was friendly.

I always check the current reviews before staying at a place I don’t know. Had good reviews so I booked it. Location was okay. Room while stark was average. Issue is the other guests. They were making noise until 2am. Cars, voices, etc. I see that they rent by the week for as long as 3 weeks. That should have clued me it’s a flop house with its associated problems. I don’t feel it deserves a below or above average rating because of the other guests but they definitely brought down my rating.
- 3/5
Very friendly folks who ran this small serviceable motor court style motel. I would definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
Staff was absolutely amazing. Room was exceptionally clean and comfortable, quite large. Basic amenities in room included refrigerator! Plenty of free parking. Restaurants abound in area.
- 4/5
Basic quiet night's stay. Clean room, friendly office staffer. He was standing in for the owner and had a bit of a learning curve, but it ended up great. I walked a couple blocks to the ExtraMile at the traffic light for coffee because I didn't see any good coffee at the motel. Nice quiet industrial neighborhood .

Stayed at Harvey's mid-week with a late night check-in. The room was clean and spacious with mini-fridge and microwave.I liked the manufactured flooring (vs carpet). Air conditioning worked well. No funny smells or scents. Parking lot well lit. Night desk attendant courteous. Wi-fi was fast. I would stay again.

Quiet property, felt safe.

I was in San Diego visiting a friend and needed an inexpensive place to stay closeby. Often the smaller budget/no-frills roadside motels can be "sketchy," but Harvey's is definitely an exception. The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming and even greeted me by name. The on-site parking lot was tidy and well-lit with plenty of spaces. I stayed in an upstairs "deluxe" room. Keeping in mind this is a budget/no frills motel, I was pleasantly surprised to find the room bright, clean and spacious. Everything was in excellent working order, from the lights ...to the TV, ...to the mini fridge and microwave ...and most importantly the AC! All the light switches were intuitively placed. Electrical sockets were available right above the nightstands on each side of the bed. I'm guessing the bathroom was recently renovated because the toilet and shower both looked new. As mentioned, this is a no-frills property, so they don't provide fancy soap or shampoo. And while the towels and linens were very clean, they're basic hotel stock. There are several great restaurants within walking distance. Despite being located right on a busy boulevard, the motel is relatively calm and quiet. I would definitely stay there again!

Quiet neighborhood and convenient

The staff took care of our request quickly. The location is close to SDSU which was our main destination. Overall good experience
- 5/5
Harvey’s is the perfect place for a budget friendly stay in San Diego. The front desk has one worker at a time and they are extremely attentive and quick to respond if you need something. I needed a key replacement at midnight and the gentleman working was super helpful. The rooms are spacious and oh, so clean! I mean it’s probably the cleanest and homiest “motel” I’ve ever stayed in. I also really love the location, you’re technically in La Mesa but San Diego’s College Area is just west of you past lake Murray Blvd. you can walk to several convenience shops and restaurants near the motel, and the walk is totally easy and doable, I think the closest corner store is a block away. Parking is extremely convenient (though, a bit cramped once the reservations fill up!) but it’s so easy to slip in and out at any time of day and be back in your cozy room on your own time. This location is far enough away to not have a lot of the city noise, but close enough that you still feel authentically in San Diego, though you’re in La Mesa! This is a great motel. Would recommend to everyone!

Clean everything worked as it should

My stay here was very pleasant. I liked the deluxe room with extra space that we can use for doing Yoga or any other types of exercises.
- 5/5
I’m highly allergic to animals - so they honored my request for a pet free room. Although old, the room was immaculate & the bed was wonderful.
- 5/5
The room that I stayed in was big, and clean, as well as the restroom it was big, updated and clean. Staff was friendly

- 5/5
I was pleasantly surprised my the overall comfort, cleanliness, and value of this property.
- 1/5
This place was absolutely disgusting we couldn't sit on the chairs because the stains were clearly bio waist and burn marks and holes everywhere. The staff blamed us for the problems them tried to change my deposit slip and have me sign something so they could rip me off. As soon I I noticed the manager would not give me the slip and went behind the corner where he thought I couldn't see him erasing the changes
- 5/5
Perfect spot for a good nights sleep.
- 5/5
The staff was incredibly nice and welcoming. I was shocked yet pleased when they allowed me to check in several hours early, such great customer service! The room was immaculate and the shiwrr had lovely water pressure. Highly recommend this establishment!!
- 4/5
Great cable tv

I was supposed of Gotten a non smoking room that didn't happen. I arrived later than I had planned so when I got there the room was reeking of cigarette smoke , I was supposed to have a queen-size bed this one was smaller than I'd planned and it was hard as a rock. The manager was pleasant and accommodating when he had to give me hangers that I didn't have in my room other than that, that's the extent of my stay
- 5/5
My stay was great. Nice and quiet. Staff was helpful. No craziness staff on-site so car was safe. Would definitely stay again. Only issue I had was bed was to hard. I recommend.
- 5/5
I didn't have any problems there. Polite staff. Even made it easy to have a late check out.

The owner took her anger out on me over the phone because my boyfriend peed behind a trash can in the middle of the night. Thought it was unfair and unprofessional to yell at me about something I didn't personally do or have any control over. Would not recommend.
- 5/5
It was good but the having to pay for ice as well wasnt good....
- 1/5
Lots of noise all night long. Staff was very rude. Not clean
- 5/5
This hotel was very clean and the deluxe room was big and spacious. Only thing is some of the workers kind of stare too much it made me and my boyfriend feel a little uncomfortable. But nevertheless, good service from the guys in the office.
- 5/5
I have stayed here several times previously and it is always a pleasant stay. Staff are welcoming, helpful and friendly.
- 4/5
Very friendly family style ownership takes personal concern for enjoyable stay by all clients. Clean, well-maintained, tidy, safer, quieter. Needs amenities: add small foods machine and all vending machines should accept currency, coin, card.
- 5/5
It was good and relaxing
- 4/5
We had a great time
- 3/5
Great location and comfortable stay. But if you are renting a non-smoking room, they require a $200 deposit which says that no where.
- 3/5
The managers are everything you would not want, I can't recollect feeling welcomed. The manager scolded me for leave air on and a light. He accused me of having a pet, laid the blame on housekeeping. They said he went in room, there on the the floor was my bedroll airing out. I am a homeless vet just wanting a room to rest. He was adament about no visitors but the reality is he could see every door and anyone coming in so your sense of privacy is concerning..
- 5/5
Awesome family that runs the joint, super clean and spacious room. Microwave and fridge in the room. No visitors allowed but will gaurantee nothing happens to your vehicle or anything in it. Will definitely stay here again.
- 3/5
The Price and service was good. my only problem was that i found a cockroach in the bathroom.
- 3/5
Room felt dirty and the refrigerator leaked Service at the front desk was friendly and efficient.
- 2/5
The room smell so bad and if you open the air conditioner, it’s even worst.
- 5/5
Good costumer service, very communicative in a timely manner.
- 1/5
It smelled like old cigarettes and the bed was really grimey. The bed had a lot of what seemed like blood stains and didn't look clean.
- 4/5
My main objection was an odor of some sort. Not cigarette smoke, but more musty in nature. Once I was in there for a bit, I did not notice, and slept fine through for the night.
- 3/5
Nothing like! The condition of the matresses is poor, and the towel is so dirty and no box tissue! They even charged for ice ! Cheap!
- 4/5
This was a good place for the night for a cheap price
- 5/5
I’m done now! Places to go, people to see, things to do. These Reviews Should Be Optional
- 3/5
The staff and service were very friendly and accommodating. The motel itself was alright but we did find a cockroach the first night and found some stains on the blankets.
- 4/5
The parking is to tight other than that it was Ok
- 5/5
Nice folks, accommodating,, no minutia, larger rooms, quiet.
- 4/5
Great location and better amenities and cleanlinesses than expected!
- 1/5
Nothing at all, to small for the price stinks and would never go back to a place like that, payed to much for a crackling jack box
- 1/5
Unbeknownst to me, we booked a smoking room. The smell was horrible! Luckily for us upon inspection of the room, we found a condom on the floor next to the bed. How could they miss that?! Did they even clean up from the last guests? Apparently not! We got a refund and drive on down the road.
- 4/5
$100 dls I’m local and price too hight small inside for the price is to much
- 4/5
Safe and clean accommodations. The family running the property was very friendly. The property was calm and quiet. The walls are thin however, bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper, as there is road noise and you can hear cars come and go from the parking lot.
- 3/5
Very Old and bedding gross looking. No washroom carpet gross
- 5/5
Service was fast easy and friendly
- 1/5
I was going to stay here but then I didn’t. I was told online that the rate would be $83 out the door but then by the time I tried to check in the lady found out I had kids and decided she need to check with her boss to see if my children were allowed to stay in the room with me. What a joke! And then she gets off the phone with him and tells me that she’s going to need to charge me $117 to give me a bigher room. We’re only a family of four and one of us is just two years old! We don’t need to beds. They don’t even have a pool or continental breakfast so they have a lot of nerve to try to charge that much money at the last minute I think I’m just going to pay. They are scandalous! Never stay here!

Room could use better lighting options. Too bright
- 3/5
Very good wifi, strong stable internet. But no coffee maker, and why the hidden $20 additional "resort" fee? This isn't Las Vegas.
- 5/5
Victor was excellent! Provided excellent service and was very helpful when accommodating my special request.
- 3/5
Thought it was a little overpriced, it was ok.
- 5/5
Just your basic motel. Clean and everything in order. Great mattress and pillows.
- 5/5
No-nonsense motel with all basic amenities. Beds and pillows are excellent!
- 1/5
Drive 3 hours got here at 3am and hotel owner gave my room away!!! And refused to accomodate.
- 3/5
It wasn’t good overall. The service had a lot to be desired. For that room the price should be cheaper. A motel 6 would been better. The shampoo in the bathroom wasn’t even full. I asked the attending person to provide me with another clean sheet and he very relactantly accepted Giving me several excuses why I shouldn’t get a new sheet. As I was walking away from getting it he started talking in his native language about me with another part of the stuff. That was very rude to do to your costumers. Needless to say I will not use that’s hotel again.
- 5/5
They were polite and understanding, I arrived at 1:30am and they were very accommodating. After a train trip from Oregon to San Diego, it was nice to know I had a place to go.
- 3/5
Not up to a Motel 6 standard, but actually the same price
- 3/5
I have stayed at the Harvey twice. My first stay was uneventful. Room was adequate since I was only sleeping there. The slide lock took a third or fourth try before opening, but beyond that it was uneventful. The hotel parking is very tight and the lot is full at night, hard to navigate, but not a deal breaker! My second stay I had requested and paid for a non-smoking room. When I checked in I was told that I was getting an upgrade! when I arrived in my room I realized the upgrade meant that they had given me a smoking room, clearly smelling of a previous smoker, insulting to be told by management with a smile on their face they were doing me a favor! The amenities are cheap and very basic. A dirty and refilled tube of shampoo, a microwave that doesn’t work that came out of the 1950s, refrigerator that barely keeps things cool, and an air conditioner that has a difficult time keeping up. I chose this motel because of it’s proximity to the area I needed to be in. Next visit to San Diego I will be looking elsewhere.
- 5/5
Very clean, staff was very nice and helpful to us.
- 4/5
Quiet area. It was a little off from the downtown area but it’s not a difficult drive.

Having stayed at HARVEYS MOTEL before I felt comfortable and the unit efficiency very practical.

I went to the hotel he offered me clean room with good condition but he charge me and extra money more than the money i was expecting, and m not coming back to this hotel again thanks.
- 5/5
Great affordable motel!
- 5/5
This is an older motel, but kept up impeccably. The onside managers (owners?) were extremely nice.
- 4/5
It was overall a decent place if you're looking to stay somewhere not so expensive. I did a Last minute choice to stay in San Diego for one night and chose this place and it was not bad at all. I did hear however when I left about some guy complaining about roaches and a leak, I luckily did not have any of those problems.
- 4/5
I got there and requested a downstairs room-- the gentleman at the window was willing. I only had to wait about 30 minutes. Room was good. Bedding was good. My only complaint is the mattress. It is no bueno. The shower was particularly nice. A super clean garden tub! My favorite. The room size was not huge but it was okay. Overall, it was a very decent stay! Area didn't seem so terrible either. I would stay there again :)
- 5/5
Clean room great ac microwave didn't work but overall good stay and decent price for a weekend.
- 4/5
The hotel is very well with the price range. It is clean.
- 4/5
Harveys Motel was very clean and the service was most accommodating. Room was plain and simple but had amenities (microwave, TV, WiFi, refrigerator, etc). Location was terrific for where we needed to be.
- 4/5
My stay at Harvey's was only one night, but the room was clean and the check-in process was quick and friendly.
- 3/5
Very regular motel. Nothing special, not worth what I paid though... But it was literally the only thing available for the night... Old fridge, old microwave, it was clean enough though, and the service was great.
- 2/5
Room is pretty okay.
- 3/5
When we first arrived, our room stunk of cigarettes and had ashes on carpet still. Our next room was fine. Bed was uncomfortable but it was only for a night. Very quiet
- 3/5
I stayed one night, and it was fine.
