Great bbq place next door. Easy check in/checkout. Paid extra $15/hr for early check in. Was right across the freeway from our concert venue at viejas arena. Uber was only a 10 minute ride.

It was in a nice location that was quiet even though it was off the freeway No smoking on premises I get not smoking in the rooms but outside really? Staff could have been a little bit nicer honestly probably won’t return the bed was super uncomfortable there wasn’t really any soap the door latch was broken

The person at the front desk was super helpful. He even came to our room to help us open the door. He explained that the door handle gets messed up because of the sun. Our room had 2 beds. One of the beds as a huge uncomfortable dip in the middle that makes two sleepers roll in together. The bath tub was a bit dirty. It looks like someone tried to clean off the dust with a wipe but then left all the wet accumulated particles. There was a mysterious stain on the decorative pillow…but I still left feeling clean after a shower. The pool looked clean too.

Nothing! To begin with the room stunk so bad I literally went to the store and bought cleaning supplies and cleaned myself. It was sad that the smell kept me awake. Barely when I was finally getting some sleep at 5am there was a loud water pressure that woke me up. I even started to look for other places to go to. Room was dirty, phone did not work for me to call front desk, clock did not work. A towel in the bathroom looked like it was used and just folded and put up to use for next guest. One toilet paper half way the other only had about 5 sheets left. Tub was dirty like they just put whatever cleaning supply and left it there. I had to use my phone to call dent seat to ask for clean towels sagger 30 min I had to call back cause no one showed up, mi d me I told them I needed right away because I had to get ready for my daughters graduation. They didn’t care. So finally when I asked for the persons name they brought the towels and toilet paper. She brought two towels they were very small looked like cleaning rags. I asked her if those were the towels and she said that was all they had. I couldn’t steep the the bed smell. Looked like they didn’t change the sheets. Terrible experience. I got home a lil after 10 and to my surprise the key was not working so then again I had to call and wait outside thill someone came and brought me another they. Overall terrible experience.

It was extremely dirty and broken down. One of the beds was completely caved in on one side and the other squeaked at every turn. There were stains all over the floor and the parking lot was a mess.

I am so disappointed in Hotels.com that they would even suggest any anyone staying at this hotel. This hotel looks nothing like the pictures. Forget about not looking like the pictures. The staff was the rudest. I’ve ever come across. We travel over five hours and wouldn’t let us use the restroom. Just down. Ridiculous rude, rude, noxious. No consideration. Need to go. Back to Customer Service. Will never use the service again. Or use any of these hotels.

The room was OK. A little pricey in some ways for the complete lack of amenities and the fact that the carpet just felt sticky and damp. But it was clean and staff was friendly.

The location is nice and centrally located to everything. The staff who were there were nice. The room was basic but not very clean. I think there was candle wax in the coffee maker, we found an earwig on our second day, and there were some stains and discoloration on the sheets that was pretty gross. The toilet was low pressure and we had issues right away too. Would not stay again or recommend.

This place was a joke!! Coffe maker but no coffee or cups! No Kleenex. No usb plug. we stayed 3 days, No room service. She said someone would be in as we had to ask for more towels Their excuse was someone called out and didn’t have enough maids? They had shampoo/conditioner dispensers. But no shampoo! I will never stay here again and I don’t recommend at all!

I called to confirm there was a business center because the description stated it had one along with a photo of it. The young lady on the phone was not helpful and I had to call back a 2nd time to confirm. When I arrived there was no welcome or acknowledgment that I was waiting to get help or a business center. The young help desk agent was busy w phone calls and signing another persons paperwork. I had to ask if I could get help after 3 min and asked to use the bathroom. It took over 10 min to sign in and 3 times running my credit card. She had to call the manager for help which I understand she had no control of. I went to my room, it was ok but no tv and I wasn’t told if there was WiFi. I came down to the office and asked about the tv, it was out and there was none the entire time. I had to ask for WiFi info too. No business center. No TV. Not a welcome. The young girl was trying but just didn’t feel welcomed.

The room was just fine for what I paid, the bath water was hot and the room was cleanish. Many of the amenities listed were not available and that caused me much inconvenience since I’m traveling. There was no laundry room available so much of my stay was spend cleaning my laundry in the bathtub (during a migraine), no reliable internet so I had to pay for my own, and no ice.

The room was not clean, the furniture is in poor condition. from two lights above the sink, one did not work. There was almost no shampoo in the bathroom. The advertisement stated that the rooms have a full kitchen, which is not true.

Intermittent key issue with the door was annoying but overall great stay and friendly staff. This hotel have the AC very close to the bed which is great for when things heat up with your spouse 😆

When I first arrived the rook they gave me was not ready (dirty, beds not done, etc) then they switched my room and the ac was leaking, the coffee maker was dirty with old coffee, the room only had 2 towels and when I asked for more they made a big deal about it. The breakfast they offered was cereal, milk, coffee and waffles. We asked for room service and never received it even tho we stayed for 3 days. The ice machine doesn’t work, one of the nights there was a man out in the parking lot fighting with his partner and he was screaming and slamming doors we notified the office and they did nothing.

Staff was nice and very direct and clear about everything. It was a quick easy check in and check out. Everything was neat and set up when we walked in. Honestly a great place to stay.

The Rodeway Inn that we stayed at was horrible. It was in a very sketchy neighborhood and when I opened a drawer there were cockroaches. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. I left and made a booking at the Hampton Inn instead. I should get a refund for instances like this. I doubt if I will book through hotels.com again.

My room had a mold/mildew smell that was pretty bad.

Would have liked full size pillows. All were 1/2 pillows… size of couch pillows. Trying to put 2 together to make a full was frustrating… head kept falling between the two. Cleaning could be improved….strange spatter/drip stain on headboard.

I paid $100 on a Saturday night so I thought that was a good value for this hotel. It's right by the freeway so you need ear plugs sometimes but I did okay with the fan blowing. The room was fine with microwave and refrigerator. Overall good for the value.

This place is awsome! Will be my go to place when we stay in SD from now on...for the price cannot beat this. Clean, no roaches/bugs, comfortable beds, small but clean pool, AND breakfast! We stayed at a place in a neighboring city that was only 10 dollars cheaper, had roaches & no breakfast. Met one of the maintenance workers and he was kind & helpful. House keeping staff is obviously doing an amazing job too!

Trash bins were in front of guest front doors. Dirty water was sitting under the faucet. Very noisy. Some of the guests were arguing out loud.

The locked check in door had me concerned at first, but the staff was friendly and helpful. We found the beds super comfy, fresh towels and sheets appreciated. (Some green hotels will not replace daily) It was hot and enjoyed the change. New flooring and paint on the bathroom door would help the appearance greatly, but the location was very convenient to SDSU (1 exit away), and parking directly in front of room was nice. Will stay again.

The hotel was ok. I really wouldn’t go out of my way to book it again. The room was so small. There were three of us and it seems so small. The water in the shower was reversed. It said it was cold but it was hot so it was not pleasant getting in the shower. The room also had a weird smell. The room was like stuffy even after the air was on. The area was fine and pretty quiet.

The website stated that breakfast would be available. It was not. We were told it had been removed. If it was removed then it should also be removed from the website amenities. Place looks like it is not cleaned very well. Our room had FLEAS!! we woke up with bites and itching, we found on our bodies!! Staff was friendly.

I liked the proximity to the college and the BBQ restaurant next door. The surrounding neighborhood was nice and a trail head was close by. The facilities unfortunately were very dirty. The bed had dirt clots under the sheets. There were make up stains on the comforter, the carpet felt damp and sticky, there was a hole in the wall in the bathroom. The room smelled musty.

Me and a friend only stayed for one night. Check in was smooth and the lady at the counter was nice. However I was confused about the incident fee which was a 100 dollars. Not sure what happened in the past that would make this establishment enforce this policy but I would receive the 100 dollars back from them at the end of my stay which they had housekeeping check the room. Overall for employees they were fine and were kind. The room however was below average. Bed sheets has stains, the curtains had stains, toilet seat cover had dust on top so not sure when the room was last used. Overall if you need someplace to stay for cheap and it's for a night only this is fine just be aware of the fee and if you get a room that is up to par.

Dingy, old, smelly, no room service, sketch characters. They left windows open on the first floor to vent the must and smell which was not safe. Bed and pillows lumpy and old. Nothing service wise around except for 1 restaurant next door (which was decent). Random junk, garbage, old chairs and a random old ATM sitting outside in the weather. Thumbs down overall.

They sent maintenance to replace the tv and maintenance was in and out of the room multiple times and didn’t attach everything back to the wall. For price, some things could've been better quality, towel and wash cloth fabric is a bit rough. Could use better pillows and blankets, but still slept comfortably. Other than that had a nice stay!

A/C didn’t work so I found a maintenance worker in the parking lot smoking cigarettes and working on his car, (signs everywhere NO SMOKING on premises -$250 fine) He threw the breaker switch to fix it. The iron didn’t work so couldn’t press clothes for the wedding. In the morning took some things to the car and the key card wouldn’t open the room door when I came back. At checkout, I was asked to wait outside of the lobby while the desk clerk went to check the room so I could get my deposit back. There was more, too much to list here, that was just wrong on so many levels. Lesson learned. There was a Days Inn right next door. I should have paid a few dollars more. I highly recommend you avoid this place.

This is the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in. It was filthy I couldn’t stay my full stay it was hideous. I booked from June 6–8 had to stay Friday because I couldn’t get a room any where else. I checked out the next morning, I emailed and called for a refund for the day I didn’t stay they have not found a solution to get me my money back.

I asked for extra towels and when they “cleaned” or exchanged they took all 4 towels and only gave back two. No washcloths. The towels were old and one was actually an old bathmat that they are giving you to use as a towel. The room cleanup was literally just the towel exchange, no bed making or vacuuming or cleaning of any kind. But for the price, I guess it was expected. Check in young lady was great. Just waiting on the 100$ refundable deposit which they still have a couple days so no negatives on that. Compared to other hotels it’s what’s expected from the price.

Ridiculously overpriced room people in the room behind us were up all night went to complain to front desk and they were asleep at the desk the next morning spoke to front desk and they were unwilling to do anything to facilitate me ever wanting to stay with this hotel again This hotel is not worth your time or your money

It was an ok stay. It was a non smoking room that smelled like smoke. The beds were pretty uncomfortable but it was clean. Overall I think you get what you pay for. My kids and I were safe and had a place to sleep for the night and that's what matters.

I requested disability accommodations for deafness and mobility. For some reason the room I was assigned was the furthest from the office that it could possibly be. Immediately on entering the room, the sewer smell was very noticeable. Having checked in after 9 pm following two days of consecutive driving for 8 hours per day, my daughter and I were too exhausted to do more than shower and fall into bed. We had a very early morning escapade into Mexico to leave on time for. Unfortunately, the plumbing did become clogged and it was not something that could be dealt with that early morning as they had no one to fix the backed up toilet. They said no one would be available until later. By the time we returned at the end of the day, it was a foul situation. I was started to feel like I was trespassing on the toilet’s property, because clearly this was the toilet’s domain!!! I wish I had taken pictures of the patina of filth that covered the surfaces in that hovel of a room. The shampoo and conditioner bottles were completely empty and getting extra towels, shampoo and a blanket was met with some inconveniences. I would steer clear of this place if you want to feel comfortable and have a pleasant trip. Also, the website needs to be updated because the nice pictures of the rooms and the breakfast buffet are a lie. There was no breakfast but what we procured for ourselves, the lady at the desk was nice though.

Continental breakfast area closed. Grounds don’t look well kept. Just felt unsafe and dirty. We ended up driving home two hours and losing the money for the night rather than sleeping there. Just gross overall.

The beds and pillows were the most comfortable I’ve ever experienced at a hotel. Much more comfortable than Hilton or Marriott!! The staff was very accommodating and friendly. I was there for a family emergency at the nearby hospital, so it was a super stressful week, but the comfort of the room was everything I needed and more. Definitely will return if I need to be in SD again.

Property requires a $100 deposit when checking in that isn’t disclosed when booking. Never had clean wash cloths, bed sheets had lipstick and a burn hole, tv was locked to the wall & there were multiple damages to the room (I.e broken head board, chips in other furniture, rips in shower curtain. Breakfast was out of service.

This hotel specifically is my favorite place to stay. The location is phenomenal. The crowd is pleasant. Everyone is friendly and upbeat! Yet calm and quiet at a decent hour. The staff is wonderful. The coffee was tasty :) thank you for such a wonderful visit!

From arrival to departure, everything and everyone was great. Except for one minor issue. I could not get TV to work promptly cause I couldn't find the correct input to watch Direct TV. It's not major but would've been nice to watch the news in the morning with my 2 night stay.

Upon entering the room, I was immediately put off by the dirty bathroom door. It looked like a child had gotten their sticky hands all over it, leaving behind a mess of smudges and stains. The towels provided were also extremely thin and rough, making them uncomfortable to use. Another issue I faced was the lack of a "Do Not Disturb" sign. As someone who values their alone time, this was a significant inconvenience. Unfortunately, due to Spring Break, the area was fully booked, and I was unable to find alternative accommodations. As a result, I was stuck at Rodeway Inn for the duration of my stay. Overall, I would not recommend Rodeway Inn at SDSU to anyone looking for a clean and comfortable place to stay. While the location and price may be attractive, the subpar cleanliness and amenities make it a mediocre choice at best. *Rating:* 2.5/5 stars *Recommendation:* Look elsewhere for a cleaner and more comfortable stay.

This is a terrible experience the hotel changed me 80 dls before i got to the hotel check if my card have money. Then asked me for 150 deposit after I paid them told me they will return the money to my card 7 to 10 days never happened this to me in any hotels

I was very impressed with this Rodeway Inn. They are usually awful BUT NOT this the. It's super clean and has used really good, for-its-class, materials for its upgrades. It's quiet. The sheets were soft, and the mattress comfortable. The front desk personnel are professional and nice.
