I booked this hotel through Expedia and followed the property’s own instructions for late arrivals. I clearly messaged them in advance that I would arrive around 11:30 PM. They never replied, never provided any late check-in instructions, and did not answer my calls. When I arrived, the office was closed and there was absolutely no way to check in or access the room I had already paid for. I was left stranded at night and had to find another place to stay at the last minute. What makes this even worse is that the reservation was still treated as non-refundable, even though this was not a cancellation and not a no-show. I showed up. The hotel simply failed to provide the service. The communication was terrible, the late check-in process was nonexistent, and the way this was handled was completely unacceptable. I would strongly warn anyone against booking this property, especially if there is any chance you may arrive after office hours.

This property offers a safe and friendly environment for their customers. The area inside and out was clean and kept well. There was even a area for my dog to roll around in the grass with waste bags to help keep the area free from pet waste for the next visitor. The office provided a most excellent cup of coffee for their guest, but does not offer breakfast. The rooms are simple, they do have wifi available, and it was one of the cleanest rooms especially for our that part of the Savannah area. I would definitely stay there again and I can not say enough good things about their manager, Tammy!!

Wet towels was in bathroom shower head was so weak the mini refrigerator had a bad smell and it wasn't get cold the bedding had spots and hair on it and the room was out dated

Nothing The worst receptionist I have ever seen in my life. The lights were broken. She told me we informed the electrician but didn't come. As it is my mistake and I should manage with their bad Service. So I staid with a small lamp for two nights there. The smell of sewage was very strong in the room. No breakfast contrary to what the booking says. I went for breakfast in my last day and came back before the check out time. The room Service said i am sorry I cleaned it. It was empty so I thought you left and i put your things in the storage room. finally the whole area is not safe. I got up in the departure day and found two of my tires down, stabbed with a knife. The police told me this is usual in this area. I changed completely both tires before heading the road.

Communication, staff was nice , felt safe, the room was clean, and have everything u need. There was bad smell when I entered ( like old carpet ) but I kept the door open for fresh air and it helped it, but other than that everything was clean
- 1/5
Room wasn’t cleaned, towels were damp. Numerous roaches, including the small invasive infestation kind, along with the big ones, staff was unwilling to do anything to rectify it other than send room service in the morning to wash towels. 1/10 experience, staff was extremely rude and is known to be rude about any and all issues pertaining to your stay. I would avoid this place if you can, and just shell out the extra few dollars for another place nearby.

The manager was friendly. Most of the guests were good hard-working people and I recommended for any male traveling solo for any reason.
- 1/5
The motel is backed up to a very rundown and uninviting motel. As you pull into the parking lot of the motel, towards the back closer to the remodeled rooms, is an old falling apart trailer. The pictures on the site are extremely outdated. The room reeked of marijuana. The door did not close properly (light could be seen through the side). The bathroom is one large shower with a toilet and sink in it. The towels, which looked used, were hanging on the shower curtain rod. We have stayed in Mom and Pop motel/hotels before. This is not that, We did not stay.

A few bugs in the room. A cockroach is no issue or other little bugs, but the tick or bed bug hiding under the pillow was not ideal. No refund issued, we checked out.

The bed was comfortable, the AC worked well (but loudly), and the location was great. The room was clean except for the dead cockroach and tiny fleas. The TV remote was hard to manipulate. The door card key didn't work for me (i had to get the front desk person three times), There was no morning coffee, breakfast or packaged buns of any sort. The attendant just shrugged and said she couldn't do anything about it. The attendant (there was only one there for the two nights i was there) was ALWAYS on her personal phone, even while she was with a customer...very rude and poor customer service. Although she opened up my room three times because my door key card didn't work, she didn't spend any time to verify that i did it the correct way...and, of course, she was on her personal phone each time.

Rooms are old ,not clean well, poor lighting in the rooms,no king size beds as advertised,my daughter an i had to share a full size bed.Staff said she had 1 king size bed.We get to the room air conditioner not working the plug an socket was burned out. There was a fan to replace the air-condition, it didnt work.Called the office about issues.staff advised office closes at 8pm and the live 2 hours away. Could not watch television during my stay.Remote control was not working. We checked out very early
- 4/5
Great staff. Parking was great, in front of my door. Clean room. No wifi, but that was okay. Got my money worth with this property. Thanks!
- 4/5
staff very friendy and helpful!! locaion perfect to downtown savannah
- 4/5
Room was clean, staff at checking was nice but only gave 4 stars because my room didnt have a working tv and had nothing to wind down or drown out the train yard across the street. Will stay there again. Loved the shower and the great water pressure and ling lasting heat.
- 1/5
PICTURES CAN BE DECEIVING! Booked a king size bed but when we arrived there were none left so we were given a full size bed. The room was certainly not up to par. Stained pillowcases and towels. The floors had holes in them. Bathroom sink had severe buildup of gunk. Walls were filthy. We ended up not staying and was told that they would refund the second night's stay through my 3rd party booking, but of course, hotels.com hasn't been able to contact them so I can get my money back. The only good thing I can say is that the lady at the front desk was kind. She said she was fine with refunding my second night's stay, but like I previously stated---no one can get in touch with them.

The toilet wouldn’t flush.

No cleaning service,no Internet,no cable tv and the front desk lady lied on my kids and I.

- 2/5
You get what you pay for I guess… Tv didn’t work WiFi didn’t work & they didn't care…- sketchy neighbors in and out all night.. it’s a tiny room with a bed and tiny bathroom not much better than a jail cell tbh
- 5/5
It’s all I needed for one night.
- 3/5
No frills roadside motel, in close proximity to downtown Savannah (about a 15min drive). The room was small but clean comfortable, and at a good price point. Only drawbacks were that the tv didn’t work and there was a waterbug in our room, likely due to the location being near a rural area.

Clean room.
- 3/5
No wifi.
- 2/5
Check-in was smooth, delightful woman at the front desk. The room itself was decidedly no-frills, which is fine, except that at every step the distrust was upsetting! To begin with, my credit card is charged up with three times the amount, as deposit. Printed notes everywhere- warning about the huge charges if anything guess missing or is damaged, etc. Then: the TV hardly works; of the three Internet sign in options, only one worked, and only haphazardly, disconnecting every several minutes. There is one roll of toilet paper about halfway left. Warnings that of we are locked out we're out of luck. And in the evening nobody is at the front desk to attend to one. Look, I wanted little and expected no frills, but I did not expect an unhealthy dose of anxiety over any mistake on my part turning out to be very costly! I still don't know how much I've been charged, and whether any gratuitous charges have been issued against my deposit! Hopefully none on the heels of this review!
- 4/5
Would stay again

No fuss no muss… just a clean room and a hot shower and a comfy bed. Just what we needed for a quick in and out. Tammy is awesome and so accommodating

I hate to give bad reviews but this listing needs to be accurately described for other travelers. It’s cheap for a reason. The pictures and other reviews are not accurate.
- 4/5
It was nice
- 5/5
They don't have their own laundry room, but there is a laundramat nearby. The people who work there were awesome.
- 5/5
This INN was cozy place to stay in Savannah GA. The space was clean and the staff was great and friendly throughout our stay.
- 5/5
Everything was great! Room a little hot
- 2/5
Booked based on a few photos on google and being on a tight budget. The room was hot amd had an odor, fan in living/bedroom room and bathroom cakes in dust. The AC looked as if someone pee'd on it and continually shut off to the point we had to keep un-plugging it to have it turn back on. Key cards deactivated if by phone or credit cards. Bed was too small for frame and had the metal pieces sticking out to where tou would hit your shin on it. Only reason we stayed the 2 nights was because we didnt have a choice. Area is sketchy as well and sign did not have a light. TV did not work unless we tethered our phone to it, using our Hotspot.
- 5/5
I Loved it
- 1/5
Very dirty and the door key was terrible. There was no toilet paper and we found a roach inside. The air conditioner worked but was so noisy we could barely sleep. I will not be staying there again.
- 3/5
It was a bit of an odd stay. You cant check in past 8pm so if you're going to arrive later, they put everyone's key card under the mat outside your door. They didnt check my ID or take a deposit and I got my keys from under the mat instead of the office. It felt like anyone could've grabbed my room keys from under the mat if i showed up really late. The bathroom/shower didnt really have any shelves or counter space so I had to prop all my shampoo and stuff in the sink while showering. I think they may have been halfway through renovating the space
- 3/5
The ac unit was making a loud Wierd noise all night even after I unplugged the system. Scary. They first put me in a room that was not cleaned and was clearly used just moments before. Then put me in a room with this loud haunted ac unit. I got no sleep. I’m so disappointed.
- 5/5
I love INN on 17! Staff are friendly and easy to work with, the INN is great, and the rooms are clean! I stay here often and have never had a bad experience! A good spot if you are looking to vacation in Savannah and Tybee without having to pay the extreme prices of locations closer. While still in a great location for food and shopping needs, its far enough away to avoid the high seasonal prices most hotels charge. Highly recommend!
- 4/5
The only negative was that the ac was a bit loud and the internet was lacking
- 3/5
Sufficient for the cost of stay. Excellent communication with staff. Easy check in. Appears clean. Very convenient location and close to places to eat. Overall satisfied.
- 4/5
First of all, I want to say how helpful and kind the manager was. She was very helpful. As far as motel goes, it’s good for a couple of nights. We were in town for a Billy Strings 2 night run. The arena was only 4 miles away so we took a Lyft from motel. It’s an old, no frills motel but was sufficient for our needs for a couple of nights. The only complaint was we only had one towel in room. No washcloth, bath mat or hand towel. I did go ask for another bath towel the morning after we arrived. They should put bath mats in the tub as I nearly slipped twice climbe into shower. Or maybe put a rail to hold onto. I’m 66 and not handicapped but the tub was slippery. They had coffee and pastries in the office in the morning, which was nice. If we went to Savannah again go a show at Enmarket Arena, we’d stay there.
- 5/5
Just an overnight stay
- 1/5
No hot water for the first night of my stay. They confirmed they rented out a room without hot water. Also i was bitten by bed bugs at their property
- 4/5
This motel may be in the "HOOD" but it was a pretty cool place to stay, don't bring the kids. It was clean. The bathroom was out of "Better homes and Garden" The TV was kind of small but who cares because this is a place to sleep and get up and go exploring Savannah.. I am a Solo female, but I felt comfortable enough to stay here alone. The staff are cool folks. The ambience cool jazz. I give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
- 4/5
Everything is within driving distance, about 15 minutes from the downtown area. The staff at this motel are very friendly and are more than willing to help improve your stay with recommendations and directions. I would definitely consider staying again.
- 4/5
Only downside was the guy at the front desk. He was incredibly rude.
- 3/5
Ok if you just need some place to lay your head and take a hot shower close to Savannah Historic District without spending an arm and a leg. You’ll need a car though.
- 5/5
Excellent
- 4/5
Excellent staff and accommodation
- 4/5
This was a cute unique motel. Definitely studio apartment like. I liked the room and design and the staff was very, very nice. My only issue was the floor was dirty it had dirt and hair on it like it hadn’t been swept recently. Other than that, comfy bed, nice bathroom, decent shower and close to where I needed to be for work.
- 1/5
The sheets were dirty, and the lady at the desk cared when I told her about it.
- 5/5
Inn on 17 is a great hotel. Tammy does an excellent job welcoming her guests. I highly recommend this hotel in savannah for a short term or a long term visit.
- 5/5
Very nice place, I will stay here again, lady in the office very nice.
- 5/5
Our room was clean, no extras and spartan. We were after an inexpensive clean room for two nights. This is a remodeled 1960s motorcourt remodeled obviously by the owner. Honestly the remodel job looks just like I would do. Nothing fancy. The location is surprisingly quiet. Check-in was quick and easy.
- 5/5
Manager mrs tammy very helpful and welcoming will stay again From joslyn n Carolyn
- 4/5
Staff was friendly but check-in times were a bit irritating. I was arriving a bit later in the day and had to hurry to an appointment right away. Check-in closes at 8pm so I went to the Inn first, reached there before 7pm. The check-in was closed but staff member was sitting outside waiting, said she was about to leave soon. Gave me instructions on how to get in the room. She said she emailed them to me also on Expedia but the instructions weren't explicit. It was lucky I made it there in time. I was a little late for my appointment. Also, I wasn't given the WIFI password. The TV used the wifi, which seemed to be slow and choppy at times.
- 1/5
Terrible experience
- 5/5
The property was good and neat.
- 5/5
Roku TV, but you have to have Internet to watch it. No regular TV. Other than that, the place is super awesome and peaceful! I plan on going back. 😊
- 5/5
Very peaceful and great hosts
- 3/5
The staff was wonderful. The place was okay for the price. The location is somewhat inconvenient. We didn’t realize that until we got there bc driving downtown was difficult to find parking. This is of course not the fault of the property but just plan accordingly…. Get Ubers or have parking money. Other than that I would recommend Inn for the price.
- 1/5
The outside looks ok. The check in was super fast! That is where the stay dropped off. The door was very hard to push open. No counters anywhere in the room! Not very safe for a pt on dialysis. There was a table given to us to use yes but it haf cob webs on it. The pillows were old and gross looking. The door and frames was full of gunk. We left two days early mostly due to cat smell. Well we were told oh no not for years has a cat been room. Well the chair had cat scratches and as we were leaving a cat walked right into our room so really no cat in room
- 1/5
If your handicapped stay away no countets either not good
- 2/5
The room was not clean! We found the shower and the wc dirty! The check in should close at 8pm, we arrived at 7.30pm and it was closed already. They sent us a message with all the instructions for checking in tho and it was easy to do. We hadn’t the WiFi password because of that tho. The area was safe.
- 5/5
The property exceeded all my expectations! And the staff was amazing!
- 5/5
This is my second time staying here and I honestly have no complaints everything is close by it’s quite and it pretty safe the staff is awesome as well this is going to be my go to anytime I need a place to stay in Savannah
- 5/5
Tammy is the best she is definitely the absolute best I had a very pleasant stay I will be coming back I would highly recommend
- 4/5
Decent property for a quick stay
- 3/5
A dump with crumbling bathrooms, far from old town, but very cheap at least.
- 4/5
This is a very small, somewhat bare bones room, but for the price and for what was needed, it was almost perfect. Clean, staff was very friendly, and area seemed secure. My only "fixes" would have been a desk or table of some sort, the fridge blocks the bathroom door, and it was somewhat noisy into the evening with car radios in the parking lot. Walls are thin, so I could hear my neighbors getting ready the next morning. But all in all, great for the price and I would stay here again.
- 1/5
I would never recommend this place to anyone. This was a 2 day booking but we left after the first night and dont know why we even stayed at all. There was a 2 inch gap from the door and the floor. I addressed the issue and was given towels to put down there. There were bugs and other types flying around in the room. The bathroom had a really really bad sewage smell the next morning as well. This place was cheap but didn't expect it to be this bad. It should truly be closed down in my opinion.
- 3/5
TV did not work-staff unhelpful to resolve issue. Forced to change rooms 2nd day. 1st room not functional. No counter top access, tv not working, no closet or hangers. 2nd room better but additional lighting would help.
- 1/5
The room was not ready for occupation. The towels and toilet paper stacked up on back of toilet. Had to.move them to the FLOOR to flush. No surface available to place personal items or toiletries. Floor space was only . No internet so TV did not eork. Owner gave me 3 different pw but no internet . As well advertised close to bars and eateries. Not within wslking. Would nrver recommend.available.
- 3/5
Some remodeling and newer appliances so everything you probably need. Good bed. However, many small details detracted - TV remove not working, no shampoo, no bath mat, bathtub coating was peeling and slippery surface, curtain partially off rod, no coffee maker/cups or tissue, tiny wastebasket.
- 3/5
IT was ok, Too much money for it
- 5/5
Very nice staff quiet and safe environment
- 5/5
great ! lady in the office is really nice
- 3/5
The access cards, notwithstanding we followed the instructions weren't working properly and the check in was not as planned.
- 3/5
It was ok
- 3/5
It was okay.
- 1/5
Terrible customer service !
- 4/5
It is just what I expected for the price. The area was super convenient for me. Room was simple, clean and shower was hot. Air conditioner worked fine.
- 2/5
Room was very dirty with trash behind objects in the room. Although there nothing on the site mentioning a pet fee, we were told to leave a $20 pet cleaning fee in room by the house keepers.
- 3/5
This place gets good mark on cleanness and staff, but it seriously needs repairs
- 3/5
The rooms are old and need updating. The bed was comfortable. Couldn’t get connected with the wifi. No hot water when arrived. Owner had to come and turn on hot water. Would not recommend this place to our friends and acquaintances.
- 5/5
You have to rate hotels based on their “class” or type. For a budget-friendly motel, given cleanliness, location etc - I’d give this an 8.5. Yes, the showers leak water everywhere, but I still enjoyed them.
- 3/5
I got what I paid for> the room is ok and desk person helpful but the internet signal was not strong enough so I had no wifi or tv
- 3/5
Decent room, tv and internet did not work
- 4/5
Could have had more plugins and better wifi
- 3/5
It was clean over all, but the lack of tables, drawers, and general inconveniences in the room is outrageous.
- 5/5
Slept like a baby. No negative other than the smell in the room
- 1/5
I had terrible experience at this place. There was no breakfast as listed. I overpaid for this nasty place. I had to wait for the lobby to get a toilet paper, they had not put any toilet paper in my toilet. My access card did not work and I had to stay outside in the cold for more than 3 hours to get a help from the staff. Not recommended.
- 5/5
Amazing small southern charm motel. Great staff!!
- 4/5
It was fine, cable didn't work at all but I didn't really care that much
- 4/5
Staff was very helpful and room was clean, I stayed in one of the older rooms without the updates, still comfortable. Great price
- 1/5
No cable rude staff
- 2/5
Room VERY small, bathroom did not have dedicated tub just open shower area that flooded the entire bathroom floor. Had to go get multiple towels to clean up. First night tv did not work they had to go get a cable box to put in it. Noisy! I could hear people next door just talking, road noise and train that house by every 20 minutes. I would not stay here again even tho it’s cheap
- 1/5
Room very small I can hear EVERYTHING the people next door are saying. Bathroom floor flooded, tv does not work! Can hear all traffic! Very poor motel NOT hotel.
- 5/5
For the price paid in the Savannah area we realy enjoyed our stay. Freindly people and a good motel for the money.
- 5/5
Had a great stay nice location to all the fiid places rooms have been updated dont the the look of thd outside fool you
- 4/5
The shower was cool but it flooded the whole bathroom and into the bed room. Otherwise our stay was great.
- 4/5
Was a nice place, staff was very friendly and bed was quite comfortable. Savanah Georgia is a beautiful place I hope to visit again.
- 5/5
I love this place
- 5/5
nice front desk lady
- 5/5
I was just in town for the night for a job close by. The stay for the night was good. Bed was comfy enough. Nothing bad to say about the staff as they were not there when I arrived but had the room all ready! Room appeared clean and did the job!
- 4/5
I asked for an exchange of towels which I never got so had to use the same ones for three days. They advertise "newly remodeled" rooms but mine certainly wasn’t. That being said, the room was clean and the nights were quiet.
- 2/5
The unfortunate truth that, thanks to inflation the $29 a night is now $129 a night. If you made bad choices back then, well once again your about to make one now.. The staff seem use to and good with this location, but as a traveler you probably won't be. For me I made the best of a bad situation. With the money saved over the room rates downtown, I bought a really nice hat, pair of sunglasses, and a sweater. So like most things in life, you make tradeoffs. I made my choice. Were the passerbyers compliments on my new hat, sweater and sunglasses worth it? Cheers
- 3/5
Night Shift check in lady needs to be nice but the dayshift was very pleasant. She told me my reservation has been canceled because I didn’t pay with my credit card, but on the website, it said I could pay at the property. I had to go back in and rebook the property and thank goodness They still had a room left at 7:30 PM. Bathroom needs a remodel. The toilet was rocking when you used it. I will definitely pass on by this hotel Next time I come through. This refrigerator did not work On a good note the bed was very comfortable.
- 5/5
Room 22 was stunning. Huge open shower. Stone walls. Wonderful bed and crisp new bedding. Great Frig, freezer and microwave. Loved drawing the 8 cute wild kitties to our front porch with some cat food we bought at a store. They are fed regularly but we love cats and had a really fun evening of entertainment! (Sure beats watching TV in bed!). Will stay here every time we come this way.
- 3/5
The location was perfect for a local wedding & festivities located in downtown. The property was just ok. There were cats around the property and a trailer in the back with overgrown vines & trees. The room temperature was adequate. Plumbing worked as expected. The bathroom smelled bad.
- 3/5
Very economical and clean, but sparse.
- 3/5
The staff was incredibly nice and professional, however upon arriving we noticed the AC had not been turned on so the room was excruciatingly hot. So hot that running the AC at full blast all night still didn’t cool the room down by the time we checked out the next morning. You can tell that some folks stay here long term and they were friendly enough but also kinda scary. The place is overrun with stray cats (we counted 8) which would not be an issue if the outside didn’t reek of cat waste. The price and staff are the only reason I rated this motel as high as I did.
- 5/5
My room is exceptionally clean. I was very happy with the layout five star stay
- 5/5
Tammy is a great front desk clerk
- 5/5
Very good
- 3/5
This place is great. They remodeled it, but we got a king size bed and it’s the smallest king size bed I’ve ever seen.! we cannot fit three people maybe three little kids. Also, they had our towels for us but they gave us two of the floor towels, one regular towel and a couple hand towels besides the bed being small and not enough towels everything was perfect.
- 5/5
Diamond in the rough! Most would overlook this little gem! Give it a try if you're looking for a place thats not super expensive but also not junky/trashy!! Room was nice and seemed to be recently remodeled, very clean! Love the kitties!! Next time I take an impromptu vaca to Savannah and Tybee, I'll be booking here.
- 1/5
Just spend the extra money and stay somewhere else
- 4/5
Less than 10mins to downtown traffic isnt that bad on the street its on Room was clean and easy friendly checkin Would go back again
- 5/5
We stayed at this hotel for a few hours while we waited for the Amtrak train north. Just a few miles from the train station, this motel doesn't look like much from the road, but the room was very nice. Beds were comfortable. Room was clean. Seemed recently renovated. I would highly recommend this hotel for a night or two's stay.
- 1/5
We didn’t stay there, we were notified a couple of hours after we tried to check in that they could not accommodate us and we were redirected to “The Carole Motel” which we declined.

The woman at the front desk was great. She got out in a rain storm to check me in. Very friendly staff. I would recommend staying here. It’s not the Hilton, but clean and quiet.

I was unhappy to find that the amount on the receipts from the property was almost half of what Expedia charged me. The property was pretty much what I expected - fine of an overnight stay.

Lots of cats here so I loved it!! Rooms need better insulation. Train came through like once a hour and gaps in the door made traffic super loud. Room was ok and staff friendly.

The room itself was surprisingly clean and up to date. Spacious mini fridge and a nice bed with new sheets! We were unfortunately on the last room at the far end of the property so often were out of range of the Wi-Fi but that would really be the only complaint. We had unlimited data so it didn’t really mess with anything but overall will probably make this Inn our regular spot for future Savannah trips!
