This is a wonderful hotel…very nice rooms, friendly and very helpful staff and good location.

Breakfast not good
- 1/5
I booked this one because i saw some positive reviews for cleanliness but that was NOT my experience. First off, I booked a room with a queen bed...I got a room with a double that was missing a nightstand on the left side. It seemed clean and smelled good when I walked in, but as I looked around more I noticed how bad it actually was. There was hair on the pillows, hair all over the bathroom floor as well as ants and a spider on the ceiling of the shower and an egg sac, the body wash and conditioner dispensers were barely filled, the toilet base was cracked so badly that when you get up from the toilet it lifts from the floor (I only weigh 130), and two of the towels had stains on them. 1 of them being a lipstick stain.
- 2/5
First, my partner and I booked a queen room for three nights, but our room did not have a queen - it was actually a full. I don't know if this was a quirk of our room or a mismatch between their understanding of queen vs. full across their queen rooms. The amenities were minimal, and at no point during our stay did any staff come in to clean or even empty our trash. While that's all perfectly fine for a motel, the cleaning schedule (or lack thereof) was not explained to us during check-in. The continental breakfast that they offer is a nice touch, but it is very basic, and it seems like they don't replenish anything as the morning goes on, so if you arrive even an hour after the breakfast starts, there is less to choose from. Upon check-out, I was asked if I wanted an emailed or paper copy of my receipt and opted for email, but because I booked through Hotels.com, they did not actual have my email on file and so never sent me a receipt. I had to call them after returning home to give them my email and get my receipt. Thankfully, that was an easy process, but it was odd they didn't even check to see if I had my email on file.

This motel was clean. There are two levels with no elevator. This was difficult with my elderly mother. The outdoor fire was not working and our bathtub lever was broken. These were reported to the staff. They seemed receptive. The breakfast was basic. Walking distance of an excellent coffeehouse called Realfine. I would also recommend West Side of Chicago pizza that is two blocks away. Neighborhood seemed safe.
- 5/5
Staff was helpful and friendly, priced right and a great location
- 2/5
The room was oddly very bare, the walls were dirty, the pull down shade in front of the window had mold growing on it, the water pressure in the shower was terrible, the water was barely hot, the bed was hard, there was no bed spread or comforter only a sheet and thin blanket on the bed. The toilet was not bolted down well so it moved back and forth when you got up or down off the seat. The walls were thin and you could hear the people above walking around. There were many shady looking people hanging out in front of the building across the street all throughout the night. The only positives were the close proximity to T-mobile park and the staff was helpful when we needed utensils late at night after we had food delivered. This room was NOT worth the $275 I ended up paying after fees and taxes.
- 4/5
Good place, although some rooms near the front can be noisy.
- 4/5
Staff was very helpful to us when we got there at 3;00 AM in the morning, Alex was a very big help to us and very friendly person. Will stay here again.
- 5/5
Excellent, great staff
- 4/5
This place was tucked amongst larger buildings which made it feel so cozy. We loved that the parking was easy and in front of our room. Very clean and simple, but nice. Just what we were looking for. I’ll come here again, great service from the staff. Breakfast was simple, but adequate.
- 4/5
Used the room for getting dressed for my wedding.
- 4/5
Nice, clean well appointed room. Kind staff and free parking. Needs more snacks for afrohours when the neighborhood closes
- 5/5
Love the vibe, clean rooms, and the fire pit. Also the staff at check in were awesome!
- 5/5
Parking was safe and tucked away, the breakfast was light but good and the staff were awesome and patient with every request I had. It stays really quiet and everything was clean. I'll be staying here again for sure.
- 2/5
The place needs updating. There are no towel hooks in the bathroom. The furnished hair dryer only blew a small amount of lukewarm air. The room was not cleaned during my stay. There are not enough wall plugs. Temperature adjustments in the room are restricted to a small band. The mattress was not comfortable. The room furniture was sparse.
- 4/5
Nice place, safe. Helpful staff.
- 3/5
Several heat/ac units in room, but only one worked. At least, ours did. No towels for shower, so we had to call front desk—but no phones in room. Shower nozzle sadly dropped and would only spray down. Water pressure is a suggestion. The breakfast had room temp coffee requiring the microwave to heat up.
- 2/5
NO amenities,no in house phone so no wake up calls. One cup Keurig with two pods. Chairs torn leather. Wi Dow had small board in front of the window airconditioner that allows the wind the outside weather to come in the room. Only access to snacks is in the office. Noisey. On a main road and one window looked out at a cement building approximately 12 feet away
- 2/5
Our first room looked over dumpsters in an alley and had an overpowering smell of bleach. We were moved. Our new room did not smell but the smoke detector was covered with a trash bag (not safe), here was a giant wad of black tar on the floor, the toilet paper holder was not attached to the wall, there was a light that did not fit in the outlet so we had to request a converter, there was no indication if our room would be serviced (it wasn't had to ask for coffee/creamer etc.), and the bedding was worn and had hairs on it. Breakfast bar did not have hot water for the offered tea. We could hear snoring through the walls. Pros: the bathroom was clean (needs hooks to hang things), the towels were clean, the front desk staff was willing to show us other available rooms. The location was convenient but there is a bus stop in front of rooms and late at night there was yelling on streets.
- 5/5
A nice facility. Lots of parking, great location, nice room, and very friendly and helpful staff. Would stay again!
- 4/5
Staff were very friendly. We did have ants in our room. And I am not sure why they changed the location of the complimentary breakfast. It seemed to be a very good spot but moved it to the front office on the weekend. Very confusing. The motel is nice but in a bad location.
- 5/5
Helpful and pleasant staff. Room was small, minimalistic, but comfortable. Appreciated free parking. Affordable alternative to staying in downtown Seattle, with easy access to activities and events.
- 5/5
Close to where I wanted to be
- 5/5
Lovely woman at check-in. Spacious, pretty room. Very comfortable bed.
- 4/5
Loud mini split was the only detractor from an otherwise clean room and quiet hotel.
- 5/5
Clean room.
- 5/5
Room was nice and clean. Would stay again
- 3/5
Not enough bedding for my taste during winter. No extra blankets in the room. No drawers in the room for folded clothes. No maid services for a 3 night stay.
- 4/5
Yes
- 4/5
Comfortable and clean room
- 4/5
Very good!
- 5/5
Staff very friendly and helpful. The wheelchair accessible room is excellent for us.
- 3/5
At least one of the rooms was renovated last time I was here, but this time we had an old bathroom, luxury vinyl is cheap. the heat unit is new, but the screen was like a flashlight all night. I would have looked past all that if the mattress was good. Not good at all. But thanks for the light breakfast.
- 3/5
Ok
- 4/5
Staff was very pleasant, professional, and helpful. Building appears well maintained. It’s cold this time of year, so there should be a blanket on the bed or in the closet. I would stay here again.
- 4/5
Staff was friendly, varied selections for continental breakfast, free parking, convenient location.
- 4/5
Rooms were very clean, comfortable and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Definitely would stay here again 😀
- 1/5
The room was cold , shower
- 1/5
Drug people hanging out in front of building at bus house. Had to charge rooms no heat very old bed every thing was old! I will never stay there. 165.00 a night for a dump. Not a safe area!
- 5/5
This motel is older but in good shape. The rooms are comfortable and their breakfast is adequate. Get there early.. the eggs and yogurt goes fast. The staff are attentive and very helpful. I’d highly recommend the Grove Seattle Inn.
- 4/5
Spotless room amazing staff
- 3/5
Breakfast is limited to a few items, bagels, toast, cream cheese, oatmeal, and fruit. Room was clean but overpriced.
- 5/5
Have stayed here twice and when I'm in Seattle again, will stay here a third time! Cute enough. Clean. And friendly people with a good local for catching the ferry nearby.
- 5/5
Have stayed here twice and when I'm in Seattle again, will stay here a third time! Cute enough. Clean. And friendly people with a good local for catching the ferry nearby.
- 4/5
a smaller motel, but remodeled and very comfortable and quiet. Parking is tight, but also not a problem.
- 4/5
Check in was good Needed more blankets Heating hard to use
- 5/5
Staff are very much focused on customer satisfaction. Clean room and easy to get in and out.
- 5/5
Very kind staff
- 5/5
No breakfast and homeless people walking around. Noisy at night! Service was great though!
- 5/5
Staff was courteous
- 5/5
Clean rooms, friendly staff and great location.
- 3/5
The room was just ok for the price, bathroom floor tile grout in need of repair, literally loose large pieces of grout scattered around the floor. Its definitely an ok place to stay, and its the only game in town for "downtown" West Seattle.
- 4/5
Relatively safe, clean room, lots of restaurants near by, I’m glad parking was available for no extra cost.
- 2/5
The girl at the front desk was very nice but did let us know there is no refunds.
- 4/5
I wasn't too sure when I first pulled up to the Grove; however was pleasantly surprised & really enjoyed my stay. If you have a vehicle with you this is the perfect place to stay as there is easily accessible parking at the property. I really enjoyed staying in West Seattle. It was a quick drive to downtown & a quick drive to view the city skyline. California street which is just up the road is full of little shops & restaurants. The room was clean. The property was quiet & I surprisingly slept quite well during my stay. Would highly recommend!
- 4/5
The room was clean and spacious. The bed was too hard for us - a memory foam topper would have been great. No microwave, but there is one in the office. Like the area around the hotel.
- 4/5
The Grove West Seattle Inn reminded me of family road trips back in the '60s and '70s. My room was plain but clean. The bed was a bit lumpy and squeaky. The lighting was a bit awkward as there was none near the desk, but then again, I didn’t spend much time in the room and I wasn't’t here on business. The staff was friendly, but if there was breakfast available, I was not made aware of it. I would stay here again.
- 1/5
The bathroom sink was dirty, there was only a thin blanket on the bed, and the internet didn’t work.
- 5/5
The breakfast menu was small but everything was fresh. The staff was great. It was a great location for the half marathon and for downtown West Seattle
- 3/5
On plus side, location very good. And RapidRide bus service downtown very good.
- 4/5
Staff were very nice and did a good job. Room was clean and comfortable.
- 3/5
Cheap but Junction
- 5/5
We have stayed at The Grove when visiting Seattle for several years. Their location is convenient to nice shops, cafes, restaurants and groceries, as well as visiting family nearby. The staff here is great - welcoming and helpful. The room and public areas are clean and comfortable. We plan to stay there the next time we are in Seattle.
- 3/5
The heating system did not work. It flashed an error code all night long. It was like having a lighthouse in our room. The refrigerator was loud. It was like being in the middle of a highway. The value of the stay was not equivalent to the price of the stay. Would not recommend.
- 5/5
The property was safe and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Easy parking and walking distance to many places. Would stay again!
- 4/5
Comfortable rooms and very, very quiet.
- 1/5
N/A
- 4/5
Staff were friendly. The room was clean. The shower had hot/cold water issues either too hot or cold no real in-between
- 2/5
The room was small
- 4/5
Good for a night stat
- 5/5
Great small inn in West Seattle. Close to shops and restaurants.
- 4/5
Upon arrival i was greeted with a friendly girl. She was very sweet. I asked for a ground level room due to me having a cane. Shw accommodated me. The overall room was very clean. Had 1 issue but was promptly dealt with. Thank you.
- 5/5
I stayed to visit my son in West Seattle, a new resident of the area. When I checked in, the desk clerk gave me a good piece of advice - to park my car in front of my room and let my son drive me around town, because the parking spots disappear in the late afternoon. She was correct. The room itself was clean and comfortable and was a good place to chill between visits with my son. It was also competitively priced, which is significant, being at the only hotel I found in West Seattle. It was only a half mile from my son's place. Other hotels were much farther both distance and time-wise.
- 3/5
The negative: This place is SO outdated, and not in a good way. The mattress was HORRIBLE! I left with a back ache. For the price, I expected more.
- 4/5
Cute and convenient. Close to Whole Foods.
- 5/5
Good location clean rooms fun wallpaper
- 5/5
Very convenient, excellent staff
- 4/5
Nice garden
- 5/5
. No microwave but one close by in the office. The three different people in the office were super friendly and the lady working in the breakfast room was awesome
- 4/5
It was OK
- 5/5
Every time we go down to Seattle we stay at The Grove! Close to Uber Downtown, always clean, very friendly staff and continental breakfast. We will definitely be back!
- 4/5
it was close to town. Area and room on the corner required earplugs.
- 4/5
Clean and straight forward place to stay. No frills. Could have used an extra blanket in the room. Wallpaper was outstanding. Breakfast was nice. Pretty much what we were expecting. Would stay here again.
- 4/5
Nice
- 5/5
Nice, cozy, free parking. And liked the location its in. Everything is near by.
- 5/5
This was a nice place to have access to the city
- 4/5
Good hotel but tough area. Clean hotel
- 4/5
Nice room , a little farther away than I thought it was . Staff was super friendly .
- 4/5
Rooms were clean and the staff was excellent
- 3/5
The “queen” bed I paid for three nights was actually an oversized Twin bed. Ridiculous for two grown adults.
- 5/5
The lamp in our room is not functional. It won’t turn on and started flashing in the middle of the night waking my wife. The floor is sticky. My wife walked from the bathroom to the bed in her white socks they were dark grey on the bottoms as a result.
- 5/5
It was nice and close to downtown
- 5/5
Great location, good coffee and a real ceramic mug, comfy bed. Will totally stay here again.
- 5/5
This was a great location for my stay near family. Nothing fancy but it was clean and had AC on some warm says.
- 5/5
The best place to stay in West Seattle.
- 2/5
While the staff displays care about customers and serve a good breakfast, conditions in the room don’t measure up to basic standards. I had no night stand, no access to plug in my C-Pap, bad lighting and very cramped space. Thanks to Jasmine who was at the front desk upon our arrival, I was able to get an extension cord and an additional lamp. We have stayed here before with better conditions, but won’t be returning.
- 5/5
It was a nice place to stay for the budget I was working with. They had breakfast every morning which I loved. It was conveniently close to everything we needed. Me and my wife enjoyed our stay here very peaceful and relaxed.
- 5/5
Plenty of eateries a short walk away Excellent experience all around
- 3/5
The staff was very nice. Pictures are a bit miss leading, it’s a very old hotel.
- 5/5
Thank you The Grove!! We were visiting from Canada and very much enjoyed our stay. All of the staff were overly kind and helpful, breakfast was great, and the location is so convenient to use public transit to get downtown. Very happy with this cute and affordable motel.
- 3/5
The property was very convenient to where we needed to be. I liked that there were 3 grocery stores within walking distance.
- 3/5
Room was very small and they charged more when I got there.
- 5/5
Was a great place to stay outside of downtown that was easily accessible to go downtown to hang out or attend and event.
- 1/5
This was the worst ever place I ve been to. It was the middle of the night as my flight was late and I spent the night on a chair with nothing to eat or drink because the bed was so dirty.I checked out early next morning from this disgusting place. I was told I would get a refund for the next day. Thank you Expedia for my night of agony. Please send me my refund.Manelle Fernando
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay.
- 4/5
Nice spot
- 5/5
Rooms in the back of the guest registration building are amazingly quiet even though a busy, heavily trafficked road is in the front of the property.
- 4/5
Very quiet area. pleasantly surprised. I wojld have appreciated a heavier blanket. Mattress was very firm. There is a Target vlose by in case you need a anything.
- 4/5
Easy 20 minute walk to a large array of restaurants
- 3/5
Beds are hard, pillows are thin, and rooms are small. Front desk never smiles, mostly unfriendly. Parking lot very small. Decent location in west Seattle.
- 3/5
It was an okay hotel, check out is stated to be 12pm but you have housekeeping knocking on door 30 minutes prior. Also bugs and flies/spiders crawling in bathroom and room were an issue. AC made noise all night, it had us sleeping with a hot room to avoid the noise of the AC.
- 5/5
Always nice
- 4/5
The air conditioning setup was interesting. It seems like they recently installed a split AC unit on the wall, but they also kept the original window AC in place. During my stay, the split unit didn’t cool the room very well on its own. It was running, but the temperature didn’t drop enough to feel truly comfortable. Luckily, the window unit still worked, so I ended up turning on both, and that did the trick. After that, the room stayed at a nice, cool temperature, even during the warmer parts of the day. One small issue I experienced in the room was a constant sound of running water coming from the wall behind the split AC. At first, I assumed it was the AC making the noise, but I realized later that it continued even when the unit was turned off. It wasn’t loud enough to keep me awake, but it was noticeable throughout the night, and a bit strange. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I especially want to highlight the woman working in the breakfast area—she was incredibly sweet, welcoming, and made a real effort to greet and help everyone with a smile. It’s those small interactions that leave a positive impres
- 3/5
The bathroom is too small and the room has bad sound proof
- 5/5
Very nice accomodations, room was clean, lobby was clean and attendant was very pleasant and hospitable.
- 5/5
The breakfast is good, with choice of cereals, toast, muffins, fruit, juice, coffee, and tea. The area seemed very safe too.
- 4/5
Had a great stay but I believe it may be time to replace the mattress. Ours had a huge dip on one side.
- 1/5
Great place easy access to downtown
- 4/5
Close to downtown area.
- 5/5
The staff was so friendly. Made me feel welcome.
- 5/5
Cute room, just enough space! Breakfast room was great, no waffles though!
- 4/5
A good basic hotel in West Seattle. Clean rooms, free breakfast and less expensive than staying downtown during cruise season.
- 3/5
Also, the in room HVAC unit had a super bright control unit that wasn’t able to be dimmed.
- 4/5
Clean and decent hotel.
- 5/5
Great location and easy check-in
- 5/5
Continental breakfast was pretty standard but it worked and was a nice option to be able to grab something before heading out for the day.
- 5/5
It was a great value for the price
- 4/5
This is definitely the old motel vibe but other than the antiquated A/C (which worked fine and it looks like they will move to a modern LG system soon), everything was modern enough. Pleasantly surprised out how generally quiet it was other that car alarms going off (which I think were more to do with owners than being prowled).
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay at the Grove. Located in West Seattle, about 20 minutes from the airport (give or take some minutes depending on traffic). Clean room, respectful and friendly staff. It is a walk up so if thats a problem you can request a ground floor unit. Parking available and if you cant find a stall, lots of safe, street parking. We'd definitely return. Mahalo!
- 4/5
Nice location near relatives. Long but pleasant walk to the beach. Good access by bus.
- 1/5
The worst hotel bed I’ve ever slept in, a dog bed would have been better.
- 5/5
So cute and love the 12:00 pm check out
- 5/5
The staff was amazing and catered to everything you need. Free breakfast in the morning and an easy drive to downtown Seattle too!
- 5/5
Really the only thing to note was the newer AC was not working and there was a smaller window unit put in that was quite loud when in use, but everything else was great for a budget friendlier option to stay.
- 5/5
The check in staff was great. Very friendly and helpful. The room is clean, the bed is quite hard. You get what you pay for.
- 5/5
Third time I have stayed here, no complaints.
- 5/5
Great value, easy to take the bus to go downtown or the ballpark
- 5/5
Only motel in W Seattle. Easy access to Seattle. Small room but clean and comfy.
- 4/5
Staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel condition is average.
- 5/5
The staff is very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. And the room was perfect. Clean and well appointed.
- 4/5
Thew check in process was a breeze. Customer Service was exceptional. The rooms very clean and new looking. The only draw back I have would be thew bed! The bed had a huge dip in the middle. You would actually roll to the middle of the bed. I had to put a pillow under myself along my body in order to not roll into the huge dip. Please switch that bed out !! Hardly got any sleep due to having to turn over and make sure the pillow was in the correct spot so I wouldn't roll into the dip.
- 4/5
Perfect location for my 50 th class reunion at the golf course.
- 4/5
Angie at the front desk is awesome! She made the checking in process very easy and was accommodating. Our room was clean. It's close to stores, junction and Alki. It has been the only hotel in West Seattle for years.
- 5/5
Room was nice and clean, parking was easy. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Really enjoy my suit
- 5/5
Perfect spot with free parking, bus goes right to T-Mobile park, our go to place for driving down from Vancouver for a baseball game.
- 5/5
Stayed here for one night in May 2025 and had a great experience. The room was clean, spacious, had everything we needed and seemed to have been fairly recently renovated/updated. Parking is easy, although can get a little crowded if most of the rooms are rented out. The area seemed safe and was quiet. Free basic breakfast is provided. I would stay here again at the price point I paid, but if the price was 10% more, I would consider other options.
- 5/5
Very nice place.
- 5/5
The place was well kept and in a scenic spot of western Seattle. Complimentary breakfast was sufficient. Very peaceful area, no disturbances. Extra points for hosting part of the local crow population.
- 2/5
No vent in bathroom, shower surround coming off wall, air conditioner loud and unable to sleep with it running, wall air conditioner didn’t work, fire alarm was set off by short shower, conditioner was gone, beds dropped to the middle, no comforter. Would definitely not recommend.
- 5/5
There is one negative that is out of the hotel's control. The alley behind the building can be very loud because there are multiple dumpsters back there for another building. I was there when there was a pickup and I don't see how anyone could sleep through that. Also, morning rush hour traffic can easily be heard from the room because the windows are really thin - honking, sirens, people driving like jerks. So, if you're a light sleeper who plans on sleeping in on a weekday, you should probably try to go to sleep early.
- 4/5
Convenient and I would recomend it
- 3/5
Shabby but safe.
- 2/5
This was a $90 Econolodge. Not a $200 boutique lodge as it advertises itself. Staff was very nice, everything clean. But that's true at Econolodge, too.
- 3/5
Nothing fancy. Stayed on the ground floor and when climbing into bed I had to kill a spider. Yuck!
- 5/5
Free breakfast.
- 5/5
Nice room and comfortable bed.Free parking, simple free breakfast. Friendly staff.
- 5/5
Exactly what I needed for a quick business trip to West Seattle. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Loved the wallpaper too.
- 5/5
Gotten very late from the flight, but receptionist desk was very helpful and polite and told me everything I needed to know with my short evening stay and breakfast the next morning. Checkin/ Checkout was very easy and fast.
- 4/5
I was disappointed that the Wi-Fi was not password protected (was an unsecured line). I felt that the website was a bit misleading. I needed the secured line for a work computer and was unable to use my work computer. My personal phone was not an issue.
- 4/5
Old style motel in West Seattle. Comfortable but not at all plush. Walking distance to food and free city bus. Water Taxi to Seattle wharf nearby via bus. Breakfast is continental. Not very quiet. Would recommend if you’re looking for a reasonably priced, not fancy stay.
- 5/5
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend the Grove.
