During the night 3 trains went through the area with horns blowing and rumbling May have been the atmosphere that night I stayed or I’m a light sleeper But not much rest The hotel itself was fine
- 5/5
The property was clean. The room had a microwave and a refrigerator. We went around 10 PM to check in. We had to ring a bill to get the main door open, and once we were in, the front desk person came in to check us in. The check-in process was pretty smooth. For the price, this is certainly a very good place to stay at

It was cheap Holes in the walls, lamps didn't work, were busted and leaning. They had phone calls through the phone elevator? I heard the owners talking over it more than once as I was there for a few days. Owners lived on site and would cook food in the lobby and made it smell bad when u walked in. Also with a DND sign on my door they still knocked bc they thought I had called about my TV not working such I hadn't had an issue with. Also was going to take the elevator down one time but the alarm on it was blaring so had to take the stairs. Vending machine was cash only so I wasn't able to buy anything

There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING I can say good about this place. They have let it run down. Water stains in the ceiling tiles. Staff not friendly at all. Can barely understand them because they don’t speak English. They have zero amenities. Parking is limited and not good if you are hauling anything. Television gets 1 station only.

Room smelt like cigarettes after I got a non smoking room. The air conditioner itself made the room stink. Like mold. The bathroom shower had mold and rust everywhere. The floors were dirty and made my feet black just walking around. There is a $100 deposit so $160 just for a run down room that smelt terrible and there being mold everywhere in the bathroom. The staff was extremely rude. I couldn’t understand the night shift lady because she was speaking low and she had an attitude and kept signing at me like I was annoyance to her. It took 7 days to get my $100 deposit back.

Clean hotel. Great place for a quick stay
- 3/5
No breakfast room at all with coffee or anything. Nothing. $100 held for room fee, be prepared. Needed iPhone plugs by bed. Bed was nice. Floors needed mopping. Cheap furniture but hey, ok.
- 5/5
Yes the room was clean and staff was helpful.

I was very pleased at how big the rooms were and they had great prices. I didnt know they had spa treatments. Should be as advertised in the room.

Great location, perfect price and for those of us that still smoke, this place allows it in some of the upstairs rooms! It was quiet and clean and low key. For $55 a night, it was exactly what I needed, expected and it didn't let me down. The owners were polite and kept to themselves, but were there to answer any questions I had. I would stay at the Home Town Inn every time I'm in the area, no doubt.
- 2/5
The room had a very disagreeable musty smell throughout our three night stay. The bedsheets were clean and smelled fresh thankfully. There was a lightbulb missing in one of the lamps. The bathroom ceiling had spots of mold throughout.
- 5/5
Good value for money
- 4/5
It was good for the price. Clean.

- 5/5
It was nice, clean and quiet.

There was a deposit with a hold on my account for 1 to 3 days that wasnt stated in details, no breakfast or even coffee, the office had a screen down when i checked out and no one around at checkout. No where to leave card for checkout either. The deadbolt was broken and room had an odd smell

Front desk clerk ( Indian I think ) spoke poor English & was rude !
- 5/5
The room was clean. If your a light sleeper beware of the train every 4 hours. We had a nice stay.
- 4/5
The people who worked there where very nice, it was quite and the heater made the room very comfortable.
- 5/5
Friendly staff. Clean room.
- 4/5
So much nicer than any 3 star hotels. Main entrance is locked all the time so only those who were checked in can go in and out. I would definitely book this place again.
- 4/5
The room was clean and comfortable. The TV worked. The shower was hot and had good pressure. There was no continental breakfast as advertised. The reason given was that it was suspended during the covid pandemic, that was years ago and it was not reinstituted. When asked about area restaurants, all the advise that was given was for fast food places that can be found everywhere. We were looking for local, sitdown restaurants and found one on our own, Wimpies. That is what we were interested in, local family run places with good food, and we found it.
- 4/5
The room was fine. Nice and clean. I have no complaints.
- 4/5
Easy check in.
- 4.5/5
Room was clean, staff friendly Train whistle blowing throughout the night
- 3/5
Rooms were at a decent price. Although it had a mildew smell to it, lamp switch was broken, and stained sheets.

- 2/5
Not very nice.
- 5/5
I technically stayed the morning of the 29th. But always nice and accommodating when my boyfriends kicks me out
- 1.5/5
Close to the interstate Our room smelled of mildew as soon as we entered the room. Once we were ready for bed and laid down, we see a large area directly above the bed which had a bad water leak. Water was no longer leaking, but there was mildew all over the ceiling, sheet rock was cracked & damaged. I tried to reach the front desk, no one answered the phone. It was late when we arrived, but you would still expect someone to answer the phone. The next morning, it took a while to get someone to come to the front desk as there was something all over the elevator floor & I was going to ask for something to put over it so no one fell on the liquid in the floor. A man finally came to the window in PJ's & handed me a wash cloth.
- 2/5
No breakfast available . And the only hotel we stayed in requested a deposit of a 100.00 . I certainly hope I get that back . It smelled old & musty. It looked old & unkept. The elevator worked sometimes not always & afraid would get stuck on it. One of the beds spread was soiled .
- 3/5
Front door was locked at all times and the clerk was behind some kind of protective wall I’ve never seen before. Was this area that dangerous and if so why would you recommend it. Room smelled also.
- 1/5
Smelled horrible in my room and all through the hotel. People yelling at night, bed was a brick, internet cut out constantly, paper thin towels, don’t recommend
- 5/5
No complaints.
- 1/5
I chose the option to pay at the hotel, but expedia went ahead and charged me. When i got to the hotel they wanted another deposit. Which i did not have. Also told that my reservation was for the next night. When i tried to cancel it, expedia informed me that home town in located in soddy daisy tn. And they dont do refunds so i am out the room fee
- 3/5
Staff was correct, but not friendly
- 1/5
Staff at property very disrespectful, money hungry, rude, and will do anything in their power to keep your deposit. The man up front also has a habit of yelling. The rooms has a funky smell and if you use this app to stay he will pretend he can’t see the booking and proceed to try to convince you to book it again under him which will be more expensive.
- 0.5/5
Nothing The staff were very rude, the room was dirty and there were holes in the door like someone punched it
- 5/5
Safe, friendly,clean
- 5/5
My room was very clean, comfortable, and spacious! 😀.. I only regret not being able to stay another night.. Lovely time!
- 1/5
I didn't like the fact of I booked a reservation and when get there he asked for a deposit and I just spent all the money I had on the room and the reason for getting the room was cause power outage do to tornado that ripped threw where I live and power was still out was no hot water for two days wanted a hot shower because had to next morning so basically person at counter told had to have deposit and I told him didn't have it so I tried to get on phone and see if could get it and couldn't so I went back in and told him id have to cancel and get refund and instead of cancelling the reservation his self so I could get my money back he told me I had to call Expedia so I called them next morning when woke up and they told me it was to late to get money back and that they could of cancelled my reservation before so could have got money back so basically instead of doing the right thing then stole my money cause they could of canceled it but didn't . So now I guess I'm hiring a lawyer to sew them
- 1/5
The place smelt like a casino, the scent of cigarettes and regret. The lobby was a crisp 85 degrees. It appeared that a felony was committed in my room since the main door and bathroom door looked like that had been kicked in and half-ass repaired. I’m pretty sure the bed was just a box spring because I don’t think they make mattresses that hard. On the bright side, the shower had amazing water pressure and seemed clean if you overlooked the mold lined caulking.
- 3/5
No breakfast included even though advertised and there’s a train out back that was loud all night long.
- 1/5
Walking in to the building it was HOT!!! The guy at the counter had an attitude and wasn’t understanding that my name is changed due to marriage on my id but not my card. After 15 minutes he finally took a credit card. He then told me that the reservation did not include my 2.5 year old which it did! The room was 86 degrees when we walked in. Woke up to a pretty decent size roach in the bathroom floor and decided it was check out time for us. Just don’t think we will be back after this
- 3/5
Room was decently clean. Bed was hard. Room was non smoking, but really stank of smoke. Won’t stay her again. To me, customer service is huge.
- 5/5
The location was great for me because I had to go to different parts of the town so it was easy to get in and out
- 2/5
To close to r r track. And staff not friendly at all
- 4/5
There was a train that was close to the property but I was never woken by it. I actually got the best sleep I have had in 6 months
- 3/5
Great for the money. No continental breakfast and elevator not working but overall, it was better than expected.
- 4/5
I need a walker to get around, so i can't use stairs. The elevator was broken and there were only 2 functional rooms on the first floor. The owner switched some things around so we could stay on the 1st floor, which worked well. The train tracks were right beside the inn, and there were a lot of trains, but we got used to the noise. There was no breakfast, which was really annoying. The beds were pretty comfortable, and everything was very clean.
- 4/5
A basic clean and comfortable motel. Everything one could need without extra frills. I will use this motel again.
- 2/5
There was a cockroach in the bathtub. When something was said, they brushed it off. Also pictures show a continental breakfast but there was nothing. Staff said they have never had one (pictures say otherwise)
- 3/5
This place stated COVID as the reason to have little to no desk service and no breakfast. The elevators were broken so all 2nd floor guests had to use the stairs. There were a bunch of half dead plants and a broken fridge just sitting out at the end of the hall. The room was at least clean and the ice machine and tv worked. As a stay it is as basic as basic can be with no hospitality. Also, a train passes by this property very often, and is very noisy.
- 3/5
Never stay there again!
- 2/5
$100 DEPOSIT???
- 4/5
I stay in lots of places, mostly name brand, but sometimes due to locations I go i have to occasionally stay in non-name brand types. This hotel, was good and was kept in good condition - the stay was good and i would stay there again if i traveled to the area for business again.
- 4/5
Very rude front desk! Elevator not working had to walk up stairs to second floor!
- 4/5
This hotel was extremely clean and comfortable. My only complaints woukd be there was no safety lock onthe door although it had a dead bolt. The phone did not work, the toilet seat was lose and the room smelled very musty, and ther was no light bulb in the desk lamp.
- 3/5
A breakfast given by the hotel would be nice.
- 5/5
It was great
- 1/5
We simply did not stay … the employee was completely rude and we left.
- 3/5
Ok for the night! But would not stay longer.
- 3/5
Manager was not rude but not very friendly
- 5/5
Rooms were very clean. I loved the safety of having to use your room door key to enter from the outside of the building as well as your room. Definitely would stay here again!
- 5/5
It was clean. The parking lot was very lit up, which is nice. The dead bolt on the door was broken off, but other than that, it was great!
- 2/5
Very clean but staff were very rude. No customer service skills at all.
- 3/5
It advertises for breakfast yet isn’t one. Stingy with their towels.
- 5/5
Very close to train but just turn the fan on, it helps drown it out.
- 1/5
Property was sufficient for me need to get ready for a wedding and crash after but the front desk manager was so unfriendly. I gave you my dollars, the least you can do is be friendly. We are in the south after all. Came “early” at 2:30 instead of what is apparently the 3rd party booking checkin of 3. Big ordeal. This hotel has a massive prejudice against booking through outside sources apparently it’s through a different system for them so be prepared to be treated as a second class citizen for your audacity to to use a site like Expedia. Which I did because I’ve always had good experiences and two because booking direct online only allowed for a 2 night stay minimum. When I checked out it was the same gentleman who acted equally put out that I wanted to turn in my keys. And I literally said to him you know smiling and being nice sure goes a long way. He perked up and wished me a blessed day which was a much nicer conclusion but I very much dislike patronizing and business and being treated like I’m a bother for even being there.
- 5/5
A good place to stay. Nice clean rooms.
- 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay. The place was very clean. Will stay there again on our next visit.
- 2/5
Hallways reeked of smoke. Room was right by the train tracks and was incredibly hard to sleep.
- 5/5
It’s a small hotel in a small town but we were surprised to see the room so clean and good looking.
- 5/5
Very clean older hotel. Nice staff but missed breakfast being served due to covid. Really enjoyed the stay!
- 1/5
3-5 days to get refunded the $100 deposit. Not a very welcoming hostess. Train/tracks kept us up all night. Will never stay here again.
- 4/5
If you like trains, this is the place to stay! Right next to the tracks with trains running by at all hours of the day and night.
- 5/5
The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful if we needed anything.
- 3/5
The room itself was clean enough for one night stay, the staff wasnt all that friendly, especially when i went to check out, it seemed at 9 am i had woken him up and he wasnt happy about it. Overall wasnt bad for just a quick stay
- 5/5
.
- 5/5
Very clean. Staff was nice. Would definitely stay again.
- 4/5
The front desk girl was very nice and I would stay there again if needed. The price was nice too.
- 5/5
I'm a repeat customer and this place is simply great. friendly staff, clean room, and a great location. yes they are on covid restrictions but who isn.t. This place is great. I will continue to stay here every time i am in the area.
- 4/5
Good people, clean, comfortable.
- 5/5
well kept simple, clean and affordable, staff is great. absolutely love staying here.
- 3/5
The customer service while checking in was absolutely horrible. My husband and I almost canceled our reservation because of it. The lady at the front desk was just rude. She told us we would have to pay a $300 deposit. When we questioned her about that she said it was just $100.00. I thought she meant we needed to have a credit card on file in case of damages. Nope! She literally charged my card $100.00 even though I had already paid through hotels.com and she had a credit card on file. She said the money will be refunded. This makes no sense. Had I or known this is what she was doing I would have never agreed for her to actually charge my card. I have never had a hotel do this. The room itself was fine. Bed was typical comfort and it was over all decently clean. However, due to the ugliness we received from the front desk we will never return and will refer friends to another hotel.
- 4/5
Ok for one night stay. Dated but clean.
- 3/5
It was near a railroad track
- 4/5
Hammering until midnight.
- 5/5
clean quiet and safe place to stay
- 5/5
one issue....tv reception was not good, continuous interuption of service
- 5/5
Nice place to stay. Comfort and value.
- 5/5
Good customer service, we have issues with de cards to open the door loosing the magnetic other than that very comfortable place to stay 👍
- 5/5
Very nice clean well maintained property....talking and working through a security screen at the front desk at 3 in the afternoon was a bit strange and somehow my online reservation was for a smoking room which I never ordered...owner was helpful in getting it switched. Room and common areas were very clean and well maintained but stairwell carpets were stained and dirty. Room was clean and well kept. There is a train track just through the trees behind the building...you can barely see the trains that go by fairly frequently but you can hear them somewhat from inside...but they didn't keep me awake. Lots of restaurants and services very nearby....all in all I would return
- 5/5
Nice, clean, good location. Not enough parking.
- 5/5
The stay was great and the entire staff except one (the taller young gentleman never smiles and loves to argue, especially with women) are very nice and sweet. Love staying here because it is clean, quiet and well maintained.
- 1/5
Train track directly between hotel. Came by every 4-5 hours during the night
- 4/5
Rooms were very clean and comfortable. No complaints for this property.
- 4/5
The only thing that I could say that is missing from this Motel is they did not have any vending machines other than for soda I think that if they would put in some machines with snacks it would be a little nicer
- 4/5
All staff were very friendly
- 4/5
Ideal room for my stay for a fishing tournament at Chester Frost Park...Room was clean and comfortable... I would recommend to anyone..!
- 5/5
We have stayed at the Hometown Inn several times when we visit our son and daughter-in-law. It is very clean, quietand comfortable. We definitely recommend checking it out if you are in Soddy Daisy.
- 5/5
Centrally located with great staff that made my stay very comfortable.
- 4/5
Small but clean, no frills, very affordable. I would definitely stay again.
- 1/5
Nothing that I liked To be honest the manager/owner was very rude at the beginning 1st night wasn't badd next morning my stuff was missing housekeeping had taken it I want to use Room telephone to call front desk unfortunately telephone did not work I had to go downstairs and tell manager/owner that his staff has taken my toiletries and other belongings he insisted they would not do that I insisted nobody else had a key and less they give somebody else a key he said no just yourself and Room keeping I said well we need to figure out where my stuff is? I told him that I had to sign a contract upon arrival stating I would not destroy damage or steal anything on property I told him I would Expect the same in return his comment was don't make me mad so another manager/owner showed up and they mumbled some foreign language could not understand them come to find out they did take my stuff the original guy never want said sorry or we apologize for your inconvenience
- 4/5
Forget about breakfast nothing much there check in was very nice no problems with the room would stay again if visiting
- 4/5
It was clean and staff was friendly. Doesn’t have blow dryer so bring your own.
- 4/5
Friendly staff. Heard trains passing through all night.
- 4/5
It was close to my sisters house. Clean and easy to get to.
- 4/5
Enjoy staying here but wished they had a fitness room and indoor pool.
- 1/5
The toilet was stopped up. Would not flush all the way. Had to put toilet paper in a plastic bag or have the risk of an overflowing toilet. Took management 3, three days to fix the problem. Meanwhile was using facilities off site. Refrigerator would freeze food. No hair dryer. Will never go back.
- 4/5
The room was nice, the beds were comfortable. The main complaint was the odor of the parking lot.
- 3/5
The young gentleman up front is very confrontational with women but not with men. The young lady, I believe is the sister to the young gentleman, but she is super sweet, friendly and is willing to help with whatever you need. Once you get in your room, it’s nice but they need longer fuller pillows on the bed instead of the small ones that go flat when you lay on them. Now in the, bathroom, the tub stands tall so if you have trouble bending your knee and pulling your leg up, I would suggest that someone be in there to help you in and out of the tub but be careful, the tub is slick.
- 1/5
Not parking friendly room stinks train running by constantly will not go back
- 5/5
positioned right by the town, quiet and convenient
