Good location, nice/ clean rooms

Booked online and check in was for 3 pm…the room was not ready until after 4:30 pm. When I mentioned this inconvenience the staff member mumbled something under his breath, very unprofessional. There was a loud obnoxious humidifier or something next to air conditioning unit that had a sticker to not turn off but you could not sleep, it sounded like a helicopter. The pool was FILTHY and TINY although it looked bigger online. The breakfast was thrown together with nothing out there, other travelers were showing how to get things you needed from under counters. The utensils were dirty. It was overall lots of complaints from everyone I ran into with nothing positive to say. Cigarette butts everywhere, just not very clean.

Got there a little earlier than expected, so I decided to give them a call and ask if a room was available. Worker name Pam, was very rude and had an awful attitude. We were able to get a room, but once we got there the attitude was worse with the huffing and puffing. She might’ve rough morning but she was VERY nasty & I didn’t appreciate that at all. Definitely not going back at all!

Overall, it was an okay stay. The hotel is in a great location and the staff was good. However, our room spelled like cigarettes, there were make up stains on the blankets, the trash hadn’t been changed from the previous guest, and there was no shampoo or conditioner in the provided.

When only stayed one night as to get some sleep while we were on a road trip. Price was great, room was very clean, staff very friendly. We did grab a light breakfast before checking out. Breakfast was included so we appreciated that. There was a waffle maker and cold breakfast choices. Pastries, bagels, yogurt, cereal. Enough to fill us till lunch.

The room and grounds were very good as expected, however the breakfast was below par compared to other similar hotels offering a breakfast. Selections were limited and generally not as well prepared as other properties of similar type.

The people in the room above us were smoking in the bathroom above wand it came into our room and I’m severely allergic to cigarettes I told the front desk and she did nothing. She never went to the room above us until I called and made a complaint with corporate.

The property was a good place to stay however hotel.com over booked up @ had us spending a night in our vehicle! They also over booked 5 more people & one. Purple had 6 kids! They only gave us back $33 the difference of the 2 days booking! Stay Away for this site bc I will NEVER use them again!

So the first thing I want to say is when we checked in they gave us a key to someone else’s room and we opened the door and someone was literally in there taking a shower and we hurried up and shut the door! Then we got to our room and there was a piece of the wall on the floor with nails sticking out and I’m so glad my 3 and 6 year old didn’t step on it! Then the sink faucet literally fell off when my husband went to wash his hands. And the window to the room wasn’t locked and was open with a gap and it wouldn’t lock. So we had to worry about that with our young children. Not to mention that they had two floors, the luggage carts but no elevator?? I think they can do a lot better with the quality of their building. The breakfast wasn’t good the waffle maker was the only good part, with a lot of syrup. And a lady who was staying there even said don’t mess with the canteen. I traveled with my husband my 3 and 6 year old.

We were only there for one night but we were close to so many things we wanted to do. Very convenient location and staff was very kind and helpful.

The more Quality Inns that we stay in, the more we realize there really is no quality to this chain at all. For $150 a night, I would expect there would be an elevator up to the second floor so we didn’t have to carry tons of bags up the steps when we are in our 60s. Breakfast (if you can call it that) was horrific. They only had powdered creamer which makes coffee absolutely useless. And not to mention the coffee was pure mud. We had to run down the street to get some real coffee and bring it back. The case with butter and yogurt was locked, and they could not find the key. The bagels were hard as a rock like they had been sitting out for days…. so stale. Staff are all outside talking… no one manning the front desk …. Awful stay and will never return.

Hotel was closed. After driving 11 hours, arriving at 6pm with nowhere to sleep. This hotel was closed for awhile. We were never notified!!!!!!!!

The entire hotel was closed. No communication except this review request. I had to scramble to find other accommodations and quality inn surfside took my money and left me with nowhere to stay.

It was close to where I needed to be. The air conditioner in our room didn't work. The shower head had to be adjusted to the power stream setting or almost no water came out. The whole placed smelled a little musky. The staff was okay. The breakfast was not good day 1. Stale cereal, not much else. On day 2 there was no milk, no fruit, nothing really. We stayed here a couple of years ago and it was nice. It is not now. We will not be back.

The hotel had been renovated since our last visit and the renovations were very favorable. The humidifier and heating/air conditioning unit in the room was disturbingly loud making for a poor sleeping experience. The breakfast needs to be improved with breakfast sandwiches or scrambled eggs. The hard boiled eggs were Okay, but the breakfast experience needs to be much better.

Stayed here in winter so didnt use the outdoor pool but looked cleaned and well maintaned. Easy to get to hotel and rooms. Room and hotel clean. No bugs, but more importantly, NO mold!! Thats huge near the ocean. Rooms are spacious, BUT no dresser / drawers. One small closet so i guess u can hang ur clothes but leave the under garments in the suitcase i guess... i hate not being able to unpack personally. There was room for a small 3 drawer dresser but none there. Otherwise, good room (got the 2 queens).

One night stay - no elevator which was fine for us but didn’t notice that at booking. A little dated but fine.

Room was clean but there were stains on the furniture and comforter. The breakfast was not great. There were no plates. The waffle machine was coated in waffle stuck to it which left it unusable and there was no OJ. Would not stay there again.

Dirty diaper by the pool

Our first night was in room 132. The extra unit in the room was so loud it kept us awake at night. The phone was disconnected. The tub was an old soaking one very hard to step in and out of and there were no bars to assist. We are in out 70's and do not want to fall. At our request,, we were moved to another room and it was much better.

It was very very clean, the staff was friendly, everything was good.

We began our stay in the afternoon. No problem the first day. But the mornings in the breakfast room was horrible. Only waffles, cereal, small muffins which tasted awful. There was no spray for the waffle maker (until we found it in a cabinet). No employee to help anyone. The orange juice had been empty for days. The worse part was our room wasn’t cleaned at all after our first night. My husband went to the desk and was told, “Oh, there will be no service this week!” So, no cleaning, beds made, bathroom cleaned, trash emptied, etc. He went back later to ask for clean towels they we’re reluctant but they gave him enough for our stay there. The manager (I think) wore the same clothes for 3 days; t-ahirt, jeans and flip flops Not professional. Just a very bad experience and will never stay there again.

We did not stay at the hotel. I spoke to a gentleman at the hotel that was going to make sure that this was refunded to my original account.

The bed in the room had mold on it and there was a dehumidifier in the room that they would not take out and it was very loud. The hotel is refusing a refund even though we left cause of the condition of the room.

The staff was very nice! They greeted you when you would come in or leave. They didn’t mind to help when we were out of something. They only down side is they have no elevator. I realize it’s only 2 floors, but it’s not easy carry a weeks worth of stuff up and down stairs. I’m sure if we needed it someone would have helped, they seem friendly enough that they would so.

Nice room for a quick stay

Great stay however we did find a roach. The breakfast was not the greatest.

This room had cockroach feces in the bed sadly I did not see it when I got in because it was dark and upon noticing in the morning I promptly left. The hotel would not even issue a partial refund. Would not stay here.

Rooms are on the small side but adequate. Well appointed. Staff was very nice. Only drawback was being a two-story building and not having an elevator. Had to log 250 pound suitcases upstairs was not good.

We didn’t have any major issues, but had a few small ones. The photo in the room looked like it had black mold in it. The bathroom shower and tub spouts were not caulked properly so they were very loose. It suited al of our needs and was about as expected for the price point.

When we arrived our room had a foul odor, when we went downstairs to speak with management, we were told that the manager was in a meeting. The clerk then asked what my concern was , I explained to her the smell of the room. Another person from behind the desk followed us to the room. Then once she smelled the smell, she came downstairs with us. She went behind the desk and she explained to the lady behind the desk, she tried to whisper that it was the air and then when I asked her did she say it was the air, she said she didn’t know what the smell was. We were moved to another room but management never did follow up with us. Once in the new room, we noticed that the TV remote did not work. We never mentioned this to management yet when we left to explore the town, the next morning, we discovered a new remote on the desk. That was kind of eery since we never voiced that the remote didn’t work.

They didn’t do room service until you leave so new towel weren’t replaced or room was tidy up

The place was extremely clean. I loved the room jacuzzi. It has a nice outdoor pool. The bed slept nice. The breakfast was the only thing I didn’t like. It was only continental breakfast with little selection.

I am currently going through medical situations. Placed on heart monitor. Wasn’t able to make the trip. Paid for insurance protection and wasn’t able to have a refund given. People don’t matter anymore it’s all about a dollar in the times we live in. Will never book again at this chain of hotels or sister hotels.

This was a great place for a cheap staybutthe breakfast left a lot to be hoped for..630 to 930 means at 925 they are closing up...it is basic...no flavored creamers, it was sad...they could have done so much more but no effort. The staff left a lot to be desired. Again of u need a clean place to lay your head this is it but nothing more.

Very conveniently located near Myrtle Beach Airport. Nothing fancy but clean and comfortable. There was a little microwave in the room which wasn't noticed by me in photos or immenities fyi :) As a single woman traveler felt safe even though right on Highway 17! Staff was courteous and helpful in every department ! Everything fit my needs perfectly with nearby restaurants and grocery :)

It was close to where we wanted to be.

The swimming pool was dirty and could uses a good scrubbing around the rim areas. Many of the lights around the pool had missing lamps, with broken and exposed electrical wires. This looked like a safety hazard. Food for breakfast was limited.

I booked one night at this hotel using Expedia rewards. We had a late arrival and we were going to stay one night before getting our vacation condo. We entered room and when I went to put my bags on counter in room, a bed bug was crawling. We check the mattress and there was evidence of bed bugs. The woman at the desk documented and proceeded to change our room. The new room didn't seem bad, but again the mattress cover was dirty. We contiplated staying as you can tell the hotel is working to improve with construction and mattresses looked new. Ultimately, we decided not to stay after I read that bed bugs can move via electrical outlets, etc. I called our condo and paid an addition $250 to get in earlier than planned. Expedia will not reimburse me for the rewards I used to book and hotel will not approve the reimbursement. As a premium rewards member and booking all my travels through Expedia, I am extremely frustrated. I would not recommend staying at this hotel and I was extremely surprised at the high reviews. Also, I now doubt the legitimacy of the reviews as they seem pretty basic. Something is not right.

Good value for price - the only thing lacking was a comfortable chair to sit in and read - there was plenty of space for it, but not chair or couch.

We couldn’t get anything out of the sink faucet except hot water. Had to get cold water from the tub faucet.

They did not have my reservation correct and wanted to charge me more money for a new reservation. It took them almost 2 hours to correct the reservation.The elevators did not work. They did not have many choices for the breakfast, example : they served white gravy but had no eggs,sausage or biscuits that would go with gravy.

There was hair in the bed. The beds were hard and stains on the floor. The atmosphere was heavy. We wound up leaving and not staying there.

The front desk people Pam and Brian were exceptional. The pool was not clean and the maintenance staff pretty much nonexistent.

Ice machine first level not working reported and not fixed in couple days. Hard to get to one on second floor. Room had dehumidifier no one at front desk mentioned managed and dumped the water four times in three days myself. Pillows well aged and worn. Bed slept good,bathroom okay.

The location was ideal for my needs on this trip. However, the room was in disrepair. The shower curtain rod and one of the floating nightstands had clearly been ripped off the walls, and had not been sufficiently resecured. The entire building smelled of fresh paint for the duration of my 3 night stay, and the room itself smelled musty like an old basement. The window did not latch properly, and since I was on the ground floor on the backside of the building, that was a major concern. All in all, not worth the $150+ per night that I paid.

Zero customer service

The bed was comfortable as were the pillows. Shower was pathetic, restricted shower head. The "breakfast" was limited to waffles, cereal, toast, and not much else. The guy at the front desk was friendly.

Although Brian was the best part of this place, everything else was poor. Filthy garbage can, no bags, dirt in the corners of the bathroom, crumbs and someone else’s filth on the carpet (not vacuumed), horrible beds they squeaked terribly, terrible breakfast and coffee, pool area gross and weedy and pool tile scummy, just not a good experience at all. Very disappointing. But thank you to your front clerk Brian for his help and suggestion to eat next door Bbq….it was amazing. 😏

We stayed one night before checking in to a weekly rental. We didnt have a car, so the location was good. A little far from the beach if you're looking for that and don't have a car. The pool was quiet. Outdoor bathroom could've used a little attention. The staff was friendly and very accommodating, the beds were comfortable and the breakfast was small but just enough.

We slept great all week. We enjoyed some remodeling that was done. Air conditioner was great. We tried all week to get our room cleaned but the maids didnt speak English. A couple of mornings we left and they were cleaning outside our door but they always skipped ours.We finally just received our towels and told them not to worry about cleaning it. The sink faucet was hard to turn on. Their was only a desk chair and no sitting chair. The ice maker didnt work. We still had a good time.

The good points: Room was clean, comfortable and cool. Shower was hot, and customer service was fine. Bad points: because it’s only a 2-floor hotel, they had no elevator, which is a burden for an extended stay and the handicapped. Breakfast was poor, with little choices and furniture that was wobbly and unstable. I might stay here again for a one-nighter, but not for multiple days.

Room smelled

Great hotel! The facility is clean and the people are nice. I docked a point for the breakfast. Unfortunately, a lot of items were out or didn’t work. They have a super cool coffee machine, but don’t have any creamers - only milk and sugar packets. A few creamer options would be helpful. Also - coffee is only available during breakfast hours and not any other times 😞. They also have two, nice waffle machines, but syrup was low and they don’t have knives to spread butter. Some minor adjustments could really make this hotel even better! Outside of that, very nice facility.

Check in was horrible. The front desk staff tried to put us in a room that already had people in it. They tried to play it off that the door was dead. It took 45 to get into a room with 2 sleeping toddlers.

Great location for our travel plans. Appears new owners are remodeling. Everything looked new and clean. Furniture in the rooms was new also. Due to remodeling, there was no breakfast. I’m sure it will be great when it gets up and running. In the meantime, water and coffee in the lobby would be a plus.

Couldn't get the TV remote to work. Dehumidifier was full upon arrival and had to be dumped. Not enough coffee in the room.

The location was what i needed. The breakfast eas lacking. Other than cereal and yogurt thete eas only sausage. I have never stayed where bteakfast was served witheout having eggs and potatoes also. A change from sausage to bacon or ham would have been great Breakfast needs improvement

Location and price. Easy check in and room had nice amenities including refrigerator, microwave, hair dryer, ironing board, iron, hairdryer. The price was good also. Will definitely stay here again. Exhaust fan in bathroom didn't work and carpet was pretty stained up. Vinyl flooring would be a good investment.
