The hotel itself was nice, just as pictured & conveniently located, served its purpose. The room was nice a bit larger than expected & beautiful river view however to be a newer I was surprised that our initial room smelled like mildew/mold. The smell came from the bathroom which was right by the entrance so soon as you walk in it hit you. I believe due to the showers not having doors the water escapes into the flooring or somewhere. They graciously gave us another room which was better smell wise but slightly smaller & on the street side which was noisy. The walls seem to be very thin as you can hear every car and even people casually talking as they were walking down the street. When booking try to get a river view room if noise bothers you!

Located a short walk from shopping and dining in Troy and a short drive to downtown Troy or RPI. Friendly staff and modern lobby with areas to chat with others if you’re traveling with a group. Modern and well appointed room. Would stay there again!
- 4.5/5
Convenient location, heart of downtown. Lovely view of the Hudson, comfortable and clean room, friendly staff.
- 4/5
It was great except… the suite I booked was no longer available. So I placed in a room that was a downgrade, and that was IK I guess. But what I found unfair was that I booked the room 9 months ago but was given today’s rate for the downgraded room. I mean, great, you gave me money back… but not at the rate I would have booked it. So… can you guys look into that? I’m also a Bonvoy member, not realizing that had I not booked through hotels.com, which is you, I would have received my Marriott points. So…no, not completely happy.
- 4.5/5
Clean, comfy, efficient. I think coffee and tea should be complimentary downstairs. My $24 simple breakfast included $5 of coffee.
- 4/5
I've stayed at this hotel multiple times over the past 4 years. It's a clean, well maintained, comfortable facility. Staff are friendly and helpful. Don't know why but the LL area always smells like dirty, wet socks. Not sure why but would love to see that improved.
- 4/5
Beautiful stay- clean and tidy. Just super pricey. It was NYC prices without the city.
- 5/5
This hotel has great staff! We were in town for my daughter's graduation from RPI and the hotel decorates their lobby for their graduation. Staff members like Hunter and the wonderful female bartender (who suggested the honey hot wings with green goddess sauce) went above and beyond during our stay. Truly making us feel so comfortable and doing everything to make my daughter's graduation special. With that being said at the end of our stay I think they had hired a new person to work the bar/restaurant and he was severely undertrained with people in our party receiving their chicken wings before their bar drinks and no one else being able to order anything at all until he would allow other people to order anything and it took him an incredibly long time.
- 4/5
Best option in Troy. Rates were severely jacked up for RPI graduation. I'd still stay here again (and have stayed several times previously).

The hotel is located on the Hudson River with easy access to the River Walk and downtown Troy. RPI is just up the hill. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious.

Zach at the front desk was so kind and accommodating. Thank you so much!

Front desk staff in the morning was very different from late night check in. Check in was awesome with Adriana. The morning guy was not cool. Very and awkward

Well maintained and a convenient location.

Very good
- 3/5
Breakfast menu so expensive, parking is good. I got room 3.25pm, & they were giving us other room. Not same room.
- 4/5
Location is this place strong point. Be warned though, once you paid your room, everything else is expensive. Breakfast is more expensive than an iHop. Coffee five bucks.
- 4/5
Just a quick trip for a lacrosse game checking in was fine one employee was polite the other didnt say a word there was a strange smell near the elevator and on the 5th floor it smelled like burnt plastic the odor was only in the halls the only issue we had was the tv remote didn’t work well

Clean, friendly staff, has a bar. Housekeeping comes every other day (which was fine with us), but they will happily service your room on request at any time.

No free breakfast or coffee
- 4/5
We had a nice stay at the Courtyard by Marriott Troy. Not sure we felt totally safe in that neighborhood. Other than that all was well with the staff, service and accommodations.
- 2/5
Staff does not follow protocol in situation when finding personal property accidentally left in a room (immediately report, turn in the item to hotel management and document the chain of custody, promptly notify the guest).
- 4/5
Close to our event The mattress needed to be replaced.

How nice and accommodating the staff was.I dropped a money order outside of the building and they found it and called me and held on to it for a few hours until i was able to make my way back to the hotel. Saved me 75 bucks on needing to buy a new one
- 5/5
Great facility
- 3/5
Rooms were clean and spacious. Desk staff wasn’t super helpful. I didn’t get the room I booked online and they didn’t really seem to care. I also think hotels should offer at least free coffee in the morning even if they don’t offer continental breakfast

My boys loved the room design. Staff was kind and accommodating. Would definitely return.

Super clean room.
- 3/5
The shampoo and conditioner were diluted. There was no hair dryer. No complimentary water bottle.
- 5/5
Very clean, great staff!
- 4/5
Also, the coffee in the lobby was good!
- 1/5
Front desk looked at and spoke to me like I was an alien that didn’t speak English. And the manager did not honor my request to refund/ cancel my last day. He lied and said it was out of his control, then turned around and denied a refund when given a choice. I frequented this hotel but no more
- 5/5
Staff at check in lovely
- 5/5
The staff were super kind and thoughtful especially Nia and the young lady from North Carolina. They made my and my fiance's stay remarkably peaceful.
- 4/5
Didn’t know there was breakfast not told and left hungry too. Food stay otherwise
- 5/5
Parking was safe and easy. Our car was cleared of snow and the lot well plowed after an overnight snow storm of 8" or so. Staff friendly and helpful. Clean.
- 5/5
Breakfast not included so we did not eat there. Prices too high. Parking convenient
- 5/5
Great overnight stay. Clean room. All amenities in place. Comfortable stay all around.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly and beautiful rooms and comfortable beds
- 5/5
Complimentary parking is a +
- 5/5
The room was very nice and clean. The gentleman who checked us in and out the next day was super nice and helpful. Very professional and very nice to chat with. Breakfast was great and loved the parking area.

- 5/5
Very easy and plenty of spaces
- 5/5
Parking was easy and safe.
- 5/5
A really great hotel. Tucked along the Hudson River. Great staff, clean. A bit isolated - but it's self sufficient so that's ok for me.
- 5/5
Our favorite hotel in Troy
- 5/5
Great location!
- 3/5
The room, the property, the staff were all very good. The road noise all night long out side the odd numbered rooms precludes getting any sleep, even with ear plugs.
- 5/5
Staff was efficient, friendly. Very well-trained in service.
- 5/5
Walkable to coffee and diners, really nice to wake up and have the river view.
- 5/5
Nice room, great view. Relatively quiet. Sustainability features were so-so (needs a dual-flush toilet and low-flow showerhead). OK value for money.
- 4/5
alright
- 2/5
Noise from road was very loud. Poorly insulated windows. Air conditioner was very loud. Fan running was banging a loud. Bed and bathroom were clean and comfortable but the constant noise from both outside traffic and inside air conditioner was terrible.
- 3/5
No complimentary breakfast or coffee, which is not usual for a Marriott property. The coffee in the room was all decaf (what's the use?). No lotion provided. We had to ask for our room to be serviced (it was a 3 night stay - we expected more coffee, cups, towels, etc.). Some front desk staff were nice, a couple others were rather snippy and short.
- 5/5
Everything is copecetic
- 3/5
Check in delayed because rooms were not ready. The hotel waa veey clean and looked veet nice. Beds were comfy and walk in showwr was roomy. The area around the hotel was not great.
- 5/5
Right there and on the waterway.
- 4/5
Overall the hotel is fine, but I did find a hair on the shower wall that belonged to someone else and there was mold in the shower as well.
- 1/5
The room was clean but the location is bad
- 1/5
Lot of safety issues trying to rob cars and attack people in parking lot
- 1/5
Troy Marriott needs a security guard for the parking lot is very unsafe at night. Even the Troy police told us they had out sometimes there were people in the parking lot homeless people sleeping people looking in the car trying to break in.
- 4/5
The property was well maintained and very clean. Breakfast staff were absolutely wonderful 5 stars ⭐️
- 5/5
Beautiful fifth-story views of a river that runs through Troy and an island in the middle of the river.
- 5/5
Easy parking and numerous restaurants
- 3/5
Nice Area for a nights stay. Room Wasn't ready to check in at 3pm when we finally got a room there was no pull out couch as advertised. New room had no tub as required, Girl at front desk was very rude even after being spoken to by the general manager. There is no pool as advertised. Mold in fridge and A/C units filters are dirty. No bedding for pull out couch. Customer service is really lacking at this property.
- 4/5
The area feels a bit suspect, but the hotel had zero issues.
- 5/5
Sketchy people in neighborhood
- 3/5
We were there on the weekend - it’s very noisy from traffic downtown. Motorcycles and loud cars. We might have stayed somewhere more quiet had we known.
- 3/5
No soap in bathroom
- 1/5
They never did a clean up and I have bed bugs it super bad!! I’m not recommending this just clean properly as a hotel

Staff were great, easy to walk along the river for great dining. Rooms were nice, clean. An enjoyable stay.
- 5/5
Great location. Enjoyed a walk along the Hudson, dinner at Authentic Greek Kitchen and ice cream at the Dutch Udder
- 5/5
The staff in the restaurant/ bar was terrific. Nia and Suzy were fantastic. Welcoming, warm and happy to serve flatbread even with a few minutes to spare before closing. They are an asset for sure.
- 5/5
Love this hotel!
- 5/5
It was a great, clean, quiet place to stay that was close to several restaurants.
- 5/5
I like the conveinance of the way lobby anmd food area was situated.
- 5/5
Stayed in a king room on the water side of the building with a 15 month old. Hotel provided a pack and play with a sheet for the toddler. Recommend bring your own mattress for the pack and play. Room was quiet and comfortable. The bathroom sink was weird and sprayed water all over. Front desk was helpful and always had someone available. Breakfast option in the hotel was good but expensive. Walking distance to many good places to eat.
- 5/5
Amazing
- 5/5
Great accommodations with a very clean & new hotel. Check in was quick & easy. Staff was extremely friendly & helpful.

- 5/5
Clean, comfortable, courteous staff.
- 3/5
They doubled the rate due to graduation
- 5/5
Great location for access to RPI. Very modern and comfortable.
- 1/5
This was my wedding hotel and multiple of our guests as well as the groom and I had rooms that smelled horribly. It was a strong fishy smell that seemed to come from the air conditioner and was nauseating. Very disappointing. The staff was nice in our few interactions but the smell was awful. We will not be recommending this place for others.
- 5/5
Helpful staff
- 4/5
I really do enjoy this hotel. It is very clean and has an amazing fitness center which I always take advantage of. However, this time the bed was SO uncomfortable. I don't know why - maybe the mattresses are getting old. But after two bad nights of sleep and an aching back, I was happy to return home to my own bed. No slight to the satff or the actual hotel, it just wasn't comfortable for me
- 4/5
Nice location.
- 5/5
Thank you!
- 4/5
Our stay was wonderful! We didn't hear anything from any surrounding rooms. The room was beautiful and super clean.
- 5/5
Clean, spacious, pleasant staff.
- 5/5
It was super clean very nice and I enjoyed my one night there and the staff were super pleasant
- 5/5
From the movement we walked in everyone was friendly and the place was very clean!
- 4/5
Clean room. Cabinet door broken and hanging. Noisy from traffic etc but that’s the area.
- 5/5
Hotel appears newly renovated/built, modern vibe. Room was just the right size for a one night stay; it was clean and comfortable. There were no foul odors and minimal noise, if any. Great choice for your needs.
- 5/5
Checkin was fast, property clean and nice. Food on premise is good.
- 4/5
Nice
- 5/5
Was shocked at how nice it was and staff was very helpful plenty of parking
- 2/5
When we entered our room, there was a distinct smell of mildew. We called down and we were advised to come down to the front desk to return room key and pick up new room key. The second room smelled marginally better, but room was showing its age. The ottoman was stained. Room was spacious, which is a plus. As other reviewers stated, comforter was very thin. Our room was not made up, although we left room by 10am and returned after 10pm. Went down to buy coffee and was charged over $5 extra to charge to the room because they are a cash free hotel (this was not made known to me before changing me - coffee ended up costing $16) When I return to Troy in the future I will seek other accommodations.
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
Facilities and convenient to RPI university
- 5/5
Front desk was welcoming and professional
- 4/5
Easy commuter hotel. Service is ok. Location is right off highway and downtown.
- 4/5
The restaurant was very short staffed. Everything else was good.
- 5/5
Great!! Lounge with view of the river. Great breakfast too.
- 5/5
Super clean, great welcome staff. Perfect placement, easy to get to restaurants etc. we loved it h definitely would go back
- 4/5
The hotel was clean, well run and affordable. But the area is run down and a bit sketchy. Still, I would stay there again.
- 5/5
The bar and dining area had the warmth of a food court. It was like walking up to the counter get your food and then go sit in a big open space. Not inviting or warm or engaging. And I hated that I had to go down stairs and pay for a cup of coffee in the morning, like going to Starbucks. Why not at leader courtesy tea and coffee set up in the lobby? The next time I came to Troy I stayed at the Best Western, just for the sake of knowing that I could get up and go down for a good cup of coffee.
- 4/5
Sink in my bathroom was clogged and wouldn’t drain properly. No one was at front desk when I arrived at 3pm to check in, which was frustrating because I had a scheduled call that I needed to get to. Wandered around saying “hello?” looking for someone. Person finally appeared 5 minutes later, apologized. Overall, room was comfortable and stay was decent.
- 4/5
Con: Room fridge wasn't thoroughly cleaned. Sink didn't drain well. Didn't feel the room was worth the price we paid.
- 5/5
Lovely river views, modern and comfortable
- 5/5
Clock didn't have the correct time and couldn't set but everything else was perfect,.
- 5/5
We were so happy with the rooms, beds were extremely comfortable, set up great for working and relaxing, staff was super friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
Staff was very helpful. Rooms were clean. Parking was very convenient.
- 5/5
Waterfront views!
- 3/5
I felt that if the front desk clerk, who could see me plainly through the glass wall, wouldn’t leave the safety of his desk, even though it was obvious that I didn’t understand what he wanted me to do on a wall panel, I didn’t feel safe taking my car to park or walk back to the hotel.
- 5/5
Loved the fact that its easy to walk to very nice eateries close by
- 5/5
Room was nice with a great view.
- 5/5
Clean and beautiful room. Very spacious and accommodating for fun activities
- 5/5
Great Stay. Hotel good. Hotel is at a fantastic location directly adjacent to the Uncle Sam River Trail. and Staff is friendly.
- 3/5
When I pay over $240 for a room, I expect the bottles in the shower to be appropriately filled and a hair dryer that is not broken and missing parts. Come on, Marriott. You can do better. Be aware that you will pay $6 for a small redbull. Ridiculous markup. Take a quick walk to the budget grocery store and get a red bull for $1.50.
- 4/5
The only downside? Be aware that the Bistro "restaurant" is a counter where you will place your order and walk away with your sandwich or salad in a paper bag.
- 5/5
Nice clean hotel. Very big modern room
- 5/5
Highly recommended - nothing negative to say!
- 5/5
Always a nice place to stay in Troy. Clean and pleasant rooms with a nice view of the river on one side, plentiful safe parking, good wifi.
- 3/5
Downside the carpet is as frayed upon entering the room. No body wash in the shower but the BIG issue was breakfast. We would have preferred to have a higher rate for the room with breakfast included. We opted to have breakfast off the property instead. This will influence our decision to stay there again or look into a property that was even closer to the downtown area
- 5/5
The very best thing about this Marriot are the amazing staff. Everyone was incredibly professional, helpful and friendly. "Suzie" was a star in helping with suggestions for local dining and activities, as were others, whose names I am not as sure of.
- 5/5
Moving our daughter into RPI. We have stayed at this property before and it is always great. This time we encountered an unexpected issue. Our daughter took our car overnight while we stayed in the hotel. She called us in the am to report the car as stolen. The car was NOT parked in the hotel lot. That said, the hotel staff could not have been kinder. The lady who was managing the breakfasts was so sweet. I was paying for a cup of tea when my daughter called to say our vehicle was no longer where she had parked it. I went back to our room to speak with the police. They told me to meet an officer in the hotel lobby. When I went back to the lobby the same lady brought me a cooked breakfast saying that as I was having a rough day she wanted me to have a good breakfast. How thoughtful!!!!!! I also asked the front desk for a late checkout while I figured out what to do as we were from out of state so absent a car we had some challenges. They were completely understanding and also indicated that should we need to stay another night they would work with us on the rate. All told the staff greatly helped make an otherwise stressful experience as tolerable as possible. The update is that our car was towed and so $204 later and a walk to and through an interesting part of town we got our car back.
- 5/5
Right on the river, convenient to RPI
- 3/5
Nice property. But can the hotel please explain why they have a small refrigerator in the room that shuts of automatically after 2 hours? What use is that if you want to keep food cold? Makes no sense and they should change it. Also, A/C unit very noisy and erratic. Not enough hooks in bathroom for used towels.
- 3/5
I really didn’t dislike anything
- 5/5
Nice location on the Hudson but the area around the hotel was older and in the middle of being revitalized. Hotel was very nice!
- 3/5
The room smells a bit, i think it’s the carpet. Also, no housekeeping for the entire three days I was there, despite request.
- 3/5
Nice hotel but no dining options.
- 5/5
This has a great location. Close to many restaurants and bars, right along the Hudson River.
- 5/5
Great view of the Hudson River. One of the 2 elevators was out of order. The neighborhood is industrial.
- 4/5
Beautiful place, maybe not in the best area of the city. It was clean, but not to the standard of Marriot. The elevator area was smelly and the floor were sticky.
- 5/5
This is my go to hotel when in Troy. It is safe, has plenty of parking and close to restaurants and walking distance to the farmers market. The staff is friendly and I love the fitness center.
- 5/5

- 5/5
Will definitely be staying there again in the Future.
- 5/5
Easy stay, convenient, and decent food options at the Bistro. Rooms are comfortable.
- 5/5
The free breakfast was better than most. Fresh fruit is a major plus. Beds were super comfy.Older nicely refreshed property. Enjoyed the pool after a long drive. Lovely Stay!
