Reviews
The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa offers beautiful views and a relaxing atmosphere, but guests have expressed disappointment with the ongoing renovations and lack of transparency about the construction. The staff is generally friendly and helpful, but some guests have had negative experiences with specific employees.

The pool and slide , view of the mountains was amazing.

3rd time staying at La Paloma, very nice resort with nice pools and views of the mountains. Be aware if you want to play on the Har-Tru clay courts, they are under construction, which was a major disappointment. It was the only reason for our stay as we wanted to prepare our daughter on playing on clay since she will be playing on red clay soon. The late checkout was nice though

Been here several times and it never disappoints!!! It's beautiful, clean and the staff is amazing. I liked everything!
- 5/5
Beautiful grounds & lovely views of the mountains.

I do not recommend the reserve parking if you’re staying there as it will cost $53/night. Your better off parking in the general parking lot and walking ur stuff to the counter to check in. The cheaper hotels don’t charge you to park not sure why the feel they should.

Great services and friendly staff
- 5/5
The Weston is always a great stay. They even accommodated my early check-in request without any extra charges.

We’ve been going to La Paloma to 9 years now, twice a year no question. We tried other resorts when we first moved here but if you have kids and love a nice relaxing day by the pool or by the swim up bar and grill. The food is amazing at the grill prepared by Chef Joseph W. The staff is amazingly helpful and very friendly! I recommend everyone try this resort at least once, it’s totally worth the relaxation in such a beautiful place!!
- 5/5
The grounds were well kept and the staff was great, we enjoyed the pool almost each day of our stay! A huge plus was the on-site kids center, our kids loved their time with Janet and her team. An unexpected bonus was how much local wildlife we were able to watch from our patio morning, noon, and night.

Additionally, I felt that guests who do not book premium-tier rooms are not treated with the same level of courtesy and attention. Customer service should be consistent regardless of room category. Overall, the experience did not meet my expectations.
- 2/5
Location was nice and grounds were pretty Hot tub was murky and not enough lounge chairs for the guests
- 5/5
10/10 stay! The hotel rooms were very spacious, clean, and updated. The amenities were extravagant- you don’t have to leave if you don’t want to (which we didn’t) and there’s even an adult pool which was a nice touch! They were doing some outside renovations which tells me that they value keeping their property kept up and in good working order. All staff were extremely nice and helpful. We will absolutely be coming back!

Not much The staff and the fact that I was charged twice for resort fees and a ridiculous amount for parking

My stay was great, on all accounts a must book

Room was disgusting and had moths and other bugs that were disgusting. Maid service came in when do not disturb sign was on. Brunch was not big enough and lacking food. Most likely I will never be back

It’s a fancy motor lodge. Have low expectations.

We really enjoyed the pool and the gym. The lock on our door wasn’t working properly, there was no soap or shower gel in the bathroom and there was only one towel in the bathroom.

Ice machines close to our room were not working and staff responded quickly to bring ice to our room in the evening Shower did not work well. Water came off both handheld and top shower. Difficulty in getting cold water- very small radius for cold water and had to wait a bit to get cold water. Hot water was very hot. Furniture door for refrigerator was not screwed well. Even thought we paid a $45 resort fee, we were asked to leave the pool a couple of times around 4:30pm for private party and early closed.

Love the views and the staff. First full day we wanted to go eat in the main pool bar but the main pool was closed, but it was up and ready by the next day.

The main pool was out of order but nobody bothered to mention it when we checked in. On top of that our room smelled like sewage. The staff was quick to move our room and offer some complimentary drinks due the pool situation, so I appreciate that, but the “luxury” is certainly lacking at this property. Piece of advice, clean the stairs to the water slide and at least skim the broken pool with a net so guests dont have to look at all the nasty crap floating in the water, even if its not useable.
- 5/5
This place is a gem. The workout room was great.
- 5/5
Very nice and quiet resort. Pool area is impressive.
- 5/5
The property was beautiful and the room was clean and comfortable. From the pools and hot tubs to the views of the surrounding area of Tucson, everywhere you looked was pleasing to the eye. We had dinner at the La Luz restaurant on site and the sunset on the mountain was picture perfect from our table by the infinity pool. The food was also amazing. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

The view is beautiful and the staff was excellent. I did take issue with the cost of parking….why are you charging guests of the hotel if they park themselves? It’s not that you are short of space, such as being downtown! My morning coffee. Large brewed coffee, nothing fancy was $6 +tax+Tip= $8.00 for a reg coffee. By 10:30am all pool chairs were taken. The cost of Easter Brunch was130.00 p/person add in a couple of drinks and tip and my bill was $504.00 USD for 3people. All the nickel and dime stuff was a bit ridiculous.

Stayed at The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa (March 20–26, 2026) and had a very disappointing experience related to valet service. Due to the Senior PGA event, valet parking was suggested. Unfortunately, while my vehicle was in valet custody, it was damaged. They hit a bus or one of their tour buses hit my vehicle.. At the time of pickup, valet staff acknowledged the incident and apologized, indicating the vehicle had been struck while under their care. However, since then, I have received no meaningful support or resolution from the hotel or their valet provider. My claim has been denied, and despite multiple follow-ups, no one from management has taken responsibility or provided clear answers. This has been extremely frustrating, especially given the level of service expected from a property like this. Guests should be aware that if you valet your vehicle here, you may have difficulty getting assistance if something goes wrong. I strongly recommend taking photos and documenting everything before handing over your keys, and considering alternative parking options if available. Very disappointing experience overall, and still unresolved.

My husband really enjoyed the swim up bat. We all really enjoyed the swimming pools and the gym.

Hotel was great. Had to wait for over an hour for our room at check in. My daughter and niece reserved a shuttle to go to Sabino canyon and the desk told them to be down by 7:50am. They went down to get on shuttle the next morning and were told in a nasty tone that he had over 300 checkouts and the shuttle would not take them to Sabino canyon. The fact that they had 300 checkouts had nothing to do with the scheduling of the shuttle. I know for a fact that they were profiled because when I was packing up our car to drive to Phoenix to catch our flight, he apologized to me, but rude to my daughter and niece. I am not sure why I was not notified that there would not be a shuttle when my number was the one on the reservation. Quite honestly im not sure why one would schedule a shuttle if you know you don’t have the staff to do it. I think that the overall experience that my daughter and niece went through by being rudely spoken to and inconvenienced was a very telling sign of who you want to cater to at your hotel. I have been there before and that is why I chose to come back. I am not sure that I will. This was our vacation and it’s your job to make sure that you have your amenities and staff available for your guests.
- 5/5
Pools are great.. several options all right next to each other. And a nice lap pool that guests can use at the country club far end of property. Our A/C was not working well and the property was super helpful.

Food was great. Property was beautiful. Front desk employees were very helpful.

I called the manager early on Saturday the 14th and told the manager Chris that I was staying there that weekend and had plans to propose to my girlfriend of 6 years there at the resort. Chris was nice in congratulating me, giving me suggestions on where people have proposed in the past. I talked to him 2 other times and when I was pulling up to check in. I got there at 5pm and the plan was to pop the questions at Sunset facing the Catalina Mountains near the water fountain by my room. Needless to say that was unable to happen. It took the lady at the front desk 2 hours to check me in. She said my card on hotels.com had the wrong expiration date. I said I can re-enter in manually here. She said it wasn’t possible after me being on hold with hotels.com and pacing the lobby with my pregnant girlfriend and 1 year old son and her figuring out we were not going to leave she said “ I don’t normally do this but you can enter it manually here” I asked for a manager before this asking if we can do that she said Chris had left but I spoke with him 10 mins prior. I missed the sunset, my girlfriend was hurting and just wanted to lay down at that point. She knew of the plans that I had planned I told her why couldn’t she just ask for help from management. The girl gave me 2 breakfast vouchers for the inconvenience . We tried using them the next day and was told it was reservation only. So I had to escalate that to a manager there and they got me in finally. But could only use 1 voucher.
- 2/5
Rooms are getting dated. $40 breakfast burrito for room service. Still dealing with billing issue a week later that was not our fault. Definitely better options in the area. The only reason I could see for staying here is to be able to golf at La Paloma Country Club, which is very nice.
- 4/5
Room was ok. AC was nosy! Furniture is old.
- 5/5
#Amazing
- 5/5
Everything was great and clean
- 4/5
The phone didn’t work, so couldn’t call the front desk and the wheelchair paths were heart pounding steep. On the plus side, an employee often offered help in pushing or driving us in a golf cart
- 4/5
The room was clean and the staff helpful.

- 5/5
Beautiful Hotel with friendly staff! We absolutely enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
Clean room
- 5/5
Beautiful resort and great staff.
- 3/5
The rooms were beautiful but be sure to ask very specific questions about where your balcony is facing. Ours had a view of two huge parking lots with construction equipment coming and going as well. We couldn’t open our patio door without hearing loud equipment noise etc. One morning the management decided that employees couldn’t park in the lower lot so we got to hear almost constant confrontational conversations between employees and two security guys telling them they couldn’t park there anymore. The gal at the front desk flat out lied at check-in and said we had a beautiful view of the city at night. Also be sure to factor in that they make you use an app to pay an additional $25 a night for parking and then there’s another $45 a night they add calling it resort fees. As stated above, the rooms are nice, but the grounds and pool area could definitely use some tlc. This isn’t a resort I would return to for those prices.
- 5/5
The room was fantastic. Views are incredible and
- 5/5
Great staff
- 3/5
pool and courts ok. Overpriced for what you get. Food is average except coffee shop.
- 5/5
Great resort with everything you need
- 4/5
The pool could’ve been a little bit warmer, and the bar was not open while we were there
- 3/5
Everything is wonderful at this place. If I went again, I would book directly with the resort to be clear on how much the on-site fees would be. I had a bill for another $1000 on top of my Expedia bill after my 5-day stay.
- 5/5
The property itself is well maintained, offers various amenities which as a guest you pay a daily charge of $45. Staff is great and well trained on customer service and acknowledgement. The events manager Rob, I believe is his name really stood out. He went above and beyond for me as a first time guest. If you are looking to disconnect, this is your place. Unless you bring your vehicle, rent of uber, the only place the resort transportation will drop you off at is the mall about a mile and a half away. While you will find restaurants there, they can be pricey. There are two onsite restaurants other than that, you are not close enough to any place to eat within walking distance.
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
This place is amazing my only complaint is the parking. $19 a night.
- 2/5
rude blonde lady at the front desk refused to book me a room in person.. had to go on line.. room smelled like dog and dirty diapers… the restaurant and bars were way over priced for the quality…
- 5/5
Wonderful and peaceful resort in the Catalina Foothills. Grounds were nicely maintained. Staff goes above and beyond. From the front desk, bell service, coffee shop, and pool service you will get treated very well. This resort charges $45 per day on top of the room rate. Restaurants were excellent.
- 5/5
Friendly and helpful staff
- 5/5
Lovely pool and grounds. Good restaurants and bar. Great service. Love this place.
- 5/5
The pool time is always great! My family really enjoyed ourselves.
- 3/5
I really have a dislike for hotel fee then resort fee and to make it worse parking fee. I mean where else could I park ?Its a scam filled with up charges. Instead of listing an honest one fee up front.
- 5/5
It was the best
- 5/5
The property was tranquil and beautiful. The staff was awesome. We wish we were able to spend more than one night here.
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
Beautiful views
- 5/5
The pools were the highlight for our little ones—there’s plenty of space, kid-friendly areas, and even a waterslide that kept them entertained for hours. The staff were incredibly kind and patient with our kids, which really made us feel comfortable and cared for. Our room was spacious and spotless, with enough room for the whole family to relax. The resort also has great dining options that worked well for kids—plenty of choices and flexible service. We loved how family-friendly the atmosphere was overall, while still giving us parents the chance to relax and enjoy the beautiful mountain views and spa amenities. It felt like a perfect balance of fun for the kids and a true getaway for us. If you’re looking for a place where both kids and parents can recharge and make great memories, The Westin La Paloma is a fantastic choice. We can’t wait to come back!
- 5/5
Love this hotel. One of my favorites in the world!
- 5/5
great place
- 5/5
My family truly enjoyed everything this hotel had to offer. The front desk staff was very professional and helpful, and went out of their way to accommodate us by placing our three rooms next to each other, which we appreciated. The rooms were a good size for a family of 4 and the beds were very comfortable. The only drawback was the strict rule of not allowing outside food or beverages in the pool area. Since we were a family of 12 staying for three days, having to purchase all food and drinks exclusively from the pool bar became quite expensive. We had planned to buy drinks and food at the bar but also bring some of our own snacks to supplement, which unfortunately was not allowed. Staff at the pool entrance kindly held our bag with the snacks until we left. Despite this, we had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back.
- 5/5
The only issue is that the soap containers in the shower are installed at 5'6", and I'm 5'. I couldn't reach them. We live in Benson and Bisbee, and we plan a vacation here each year. A delightful respite!!
- 5/5
We just went for a two-night getaway and were pretty self sufficient—morning coffee, a fridge, and somewhere to eat dinner. All that was within steps of our room, the latter being the wonderful onsite Latin kitchen, Contigo. It ended up being hotter than we expected, so we spent most of the day in the pool area. Love that swim up bar! We both made it down the water slide more than once.
- 5/5
We loved it! Grounds are stunning, and staff is great! Thank you!
- 5/5
The entire resort is amazing. The only uncleanliness was the bar area at the pool. Lots of trash (gum, napkins, trash) not picked up in a timely manner. The pool bar also charges an automatic 18% gratuity on all transactions.
- 5/5
Wow! Beautiful, picturesque property with amazing service & hospitality.
- 5/5
Overall, a terrific hotel. Some of the front desk staff could be nicer but everyone else was extraordinarily. And I appreciated that. The room service foods is spectacular, arrives quickly and hot and the proportions are enormous. Housekeeping, valet could not have been nicer.
- 5/5
Great resort!
- 5/5
This is my favorite resort hotel in Tucson. I try to come once a month when the weather is warm, unfortunately this day had way too many people in the pool. I could not find a lounge chair. Even the adult only pool was overcrowded. Other than that, this resort is fantastic.
- 5/5
Great stay, great service, clean and friendly staff
- 5/5
The property is awesome!!! It is large, so you will have to walk. But don't worry, if you need a lift, just call the front desk and ask for a ride! We had a problem with the shower. We called and they fixed it promptly. They also changed the air filter at our request. Room service it also top notch. They work fast and efficiently. We made reservations at "Contigo" (a restaurant at the property) it was really good! We are from L.A. so the rates are more than reasonable (we are not pretentious, just stating that everything is ridiculously expansive in L.A.). We stay here every year for a reason!
- 5/5
Friendly staff and enjoyed the amenities. Pretty property and view.
- 5/5
I love this hotel!
- 2/5
Upset that the slide wasnt open nor was the pool bar and restaurant 😒 that was the only reason we booked for the one night in between vrbos. Couldn't connect to any streaming services in room. Also bonvoy app was down too. Extremely disappointed
- 4/5
Property is beautiful but the pool area could have been kept cleaner with less obnoxious music and the drinks poolside were ridiculously overpriced
- 5/5
Perfect location
- 1/5
Well, this will be the end of my staycation at this spot. AC was not working and I had to switch room just to find out that new room had the same issue, they must have a swamp cooler and not AC. Nothing special about this resort anymore. Breakfast was not even good. Will not be staying here again.
- 5/5
The staff was excellent! Beautiful property and the room was spacious and very comfortable. We cannot wait to return!
- 5/5
The amanities and Staff
- 5/5
We had an amazing time with family. A great place to spend a family weekend!
- 3/5
Room had a moldy smell and air conditioning was very loud. Had to turn the tv up and down each time the air kicked on or off. Guests at the pool were absolute slobs and the staff didn’t try to pick up any food or garbage laying around or in the pool. Mornings were fine but towards the end of the day it was so dirty and gross.
- 4/5
All good , except for chainsaws on Thursday, June 26 at 6:45 AM outside room 290 D
- 5/5
Everything was wonderful! Nice rooms. Great pool! An amazing place for a staycation!
- 5/5
The best resort that I have been to
- 5/5
Very nice remodel
- 3/5
Good service. Property needed lots of maintenance. Minimal staff on duty daily.
- 1/5
I arrived at 4pm for check-in and was not able to check in for 2 hrs. The lobby was full of people waiting for clean rooms to check into. I waited in my car, outside temperatures were over 100, lobby, bar area full and all pools were over crowded. We missed our finner
- 4/5
It was very nice and had something for everyone . I just wish we were there more than one night. I would have given a 5 but tv wasn't streaming and engineer took 3 calls to get to the room to check it out. I couldn't wait any longer had kids that wanted to get to pool and slides. When I returned I called again and he came out and fixed. Had trouble with kids menu and room service but called desk and manger was kind enough to take our order over phone.
- 5/5
The adults enjoy the cold plunge pool and the kids love the slide!
- 5/5
The property is beautiful and the staff were all phenomenal. The beds were so comfortable and we all slept wonderfully. The pool area was more than we could ask for and both the adults and kids were thrilled. We were more than ok with paying for the daily parking for all of the amenities we were gaining and the relaxation this resort provided.
- 3/5
I hate that there is a parking fee. Please make it more convenient for guests, my guest most likely won't show up to my event at your hotel due to having to pay for parking, in my opinion, that's not fair, especially if you are being invited. All I ask, is you consider.
- 5/5
The West and La Paloma in Tucson is absolutely beautiful! From the moment we arrived, the friendly and professional staff made us feel genuinely welcome. The entire property is stunning, meticulously maintained grounds, luxurious amenities and breathtaking desert views. This is truly a luxury resort experience. Everything from the pool area to the dining options was top-notch. I honestly don’t have a single complaint. If you’re looking for a relaxing and upscale getaway, this is it! KH
- 5/5
Beautiful property with wonderful amenities and excellent staff.

Charlie, Michele and Austin made our short stay top notch. So much so that we will be back for an extended stay. Thank you for the hospitality.

The cold plunge pool was the only pool without children and it wasn’t comfortable. Not enough chairs at the pool and it was terrible that the swim up bar was the kids pool too
- 5/5
Great amenities. Bar could use better wines, imported from Italy, Spain, France, other old world style. Pools were great. Contigo restaurant a must.

- 5/5
Loved the resort! Beautiful pools, great workout area, lots of space and comfortable rooms.
- 5/5
Great stay!
- 5/5
Perfect spot to relax, cool off, have drinks, swim, eat
- 5/5
Gorgeous property!
- 5/5
This was a very chill, but upscale property. The food was delightful, even accommodating gluten and dairy free needs and the cafe had Rishi tea. The pool was very nice and had enough chairs for guests. Rooms were spacious and clean. Left feeling refreshed.
- 5/5
My family really enjoyed our stay here. It was beautiful, the food was great, and the staff was attentive and kind.
- 5/5
Beautiful area, all amenities, good resteraunt.
- 5/5
Wonderful as always
- 4/5
Beautiful and convenient
- 5/5
It was awesome!
- 5/5
Only complaint was that the water in our room wasn’t terribly hot. The service team came to work on it right away but it never really got very hot. Otherwise a great experience and we will stay here next time we are in Tucson.
- 3/5
The property is beautiful and the staff was very nice. We paid for a "mountain view" which ended up being a view of the back of the pool bar and the ability to see the mountain from the side of the balcony. The room had a unpleasant odor and one evening there were loud construction type noises coming from the pool bar we faced. We called the front desk and we were told staff was unaware of what was going on. We saw a staff member arrive to investigate, but the noise continued after 9:00 p.m. and we just went back into the room. No one called to follow up even though we were told we would get a call. I would probably stay somewhere else next time.
- 4/5
For some reason they ran out of guest towels for the pools and didnt restock them for about an hour and a half, our room bathroom had a very strong sewage smell coming from the bathroom sink drains whenever we used the sinks, and the property was undergoing walkway renovations during our stay which made getting to and from the parking lots and other areas on property a bit of a pain. Overall might stay here again. Recommendation if you stay here, bring a humidifier with you, for some reason the room air is exceedingly dry.
- 2/5
Check in was time consuming and hindered our schedule. The time our room was ready was a whole 2 and a half hours later than check in and three a curve ball into our plans. Room was decent.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
This is a very pleasant and comfortable hotel to stay at when visiting Tucson. I've stayed here many times.
- 5/5
Amber and Dominic were amazing and everyone was soooo nice. Will be back.
- 5/5
The property is absolutely stunning and the staff couldn't have been kinder or more attentive. Amenities were wonderful and I can't wait to go back with more time to enjoy it all.
- 2/5
Most of us trying to check in were delayed for over an hour, to sit in the overprice bar. Some of the staff really tried to help (Vicroria) and the morning waitresses were good.
- 4/5
The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The shower took 10 minutes to get hot.
- 5/5
Great resort with an amazing golf course
- 5/5
Great for families!
- 5/5
My son and his wife loved their room and the facility, especially the workout and lap pool. They did think it would have more convenient if they could have had a parking pass near their room, which was quite a distance from the lobby, but close to the workout facility and pool.
- 5/5
The resort was great, no complaints. Also the Kids Club was fantastic, my daughters LOVED it!
- 5/5
Everyone was amazing took their time to make sure we were taking care of. It was a wedding night and everyone there took care of us and went above and beyond.

Stayed here for 1 night only, the hotel was hosting a charity ball that we were attending. Requested a room close to the lobby and they accommodated us with no issue, overall good experience.

Our stay was wonderful! The only thing that could've been better was if someone had explained (upon checkin) how the $10/day food and beverage credit worked.

Beautiful place!

Beautiful property, exceptional staff. Truly everyone was so kind and welcoming. Would come back again!

The hotel is aged, the spa was disappointing, outdoor furniture needs replacing. We had no hot water for two days, cold showers. The elevator was broken, so we carried luggage up stairs. It’s a beautiful property in the foothills but definitely needs a facelift.

The staff have horrible customer service and act like they are irritated to provide service. At check in, the front desk agents didn't even brief me about the hotel and it's amenities. They knew it was quite a walk to get to our room and didn't offer assistance with luggage. For valet, sometimes we would have to wait really long periods of time to have our vehicle valeted or retrieved. Customer service was horrible. The AC did not work. This property will go a long way if they improve their service. I was a duty manager at a Westin Property and we never treated guests like this.

Chose a staycation versus taking a long trip and so glad we did! The service was great, rooms were amazing, and the pools were incredible. Our family has a blast and we’re already planning our next trip.

Great weekend getaway location. Once the remodel is finished, will be even better.

They were not helful. Didn't clean our room after first night. No one answered phone at front desk for four minutes

Our room had a musty foul smell. I called the front desk twice asking for a room change to no avail. We checked out and 3 hours later my vwife recalled she left her expensive mirror in the room. She called to help locate it and again no support in assisting us. Beautiful location unfortunately they have not maintained the property to current standards and not worth the premium for location with subpar rooms
