Reviews
The Tuxon Hotel is a refurbished property with a unique, modern design that is generally well-liked by guests. The staff is frequently praised for their friendliness and service. However, the room size and water pressure are common complaints, and the location is often described as sketchy or noisy due to its proximity to the freeway.
- Unique, modern design
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Small room size
- Water pressure issues

The Tuxon met my needs as a one night passing through traveler. Has an interesting lounge area with a bar which is unusual for what is still to me a motel type of business. The location next to the freeway and other standard motels dilutes the effort to be different but I respect the effort. It is convenient to restaurant and lounges, so you need not go far. Overall I would be happy to stay here again.

The laundry room was very dirty! Lots of left over powder laundry detergent inside of dryer filter, we got this hotel so we could do laundry and we’re not able too. The floor of my room had alot of hairs, more in the shower and on the counter of the bathroom sink. This is absolutely gross! They need better housekeeping! I don’t recommend too many missed hairs in bathroom and bed sheets!

This hotel is a nightmare. Looks cute in photos and on tik tok. They must give influencers a free stay for content and they come and leave because there is no way anyone is staying here. It’s a renovated motel in the middle of the hood. You can’t walk around. It’s next door to a motel 6 that had rooms for $11 a night. I saw the biggest cockroach I have ever seen. There are signs in the parking lot about stolen vehicles. They have bikes for guests but you absolutely can’t ride them anywhere lol. Ever seen an episode of the first 48 in Tucson? This is what the neighborhood looks like. Best part. I paid $200 on Expedia and when I got home they tried to charge $624 to my card. I’m pretty sure someone had gone through my things in my room during my stay. The staff is shady af. Gives serious trafficking vibes. Stay far away. Also there was a weird light in the bathroom fan. Although it’s probably nothing it just added to the ambience of possibly kidnapped or robbed.

Friendly staff, super fun and retro main building, delish food and a pet area which we used.
- 3/5
Stayed on a Saturday night and were kept awake until 3AM by a noisy group in the parking lot. Staff should have made them move indoors or leave the property.
- 5/5
we love to stay more others days! love to feel safe, quiet and make us feel comfortable to be “home”! they don’t clean on floor, it’s really dirt on floor.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff.
- 5/5
Really enjoyed staying here and shocked by the mixed reviews. Incredibly kind staff, good chill vibes, clean room, nice pool, centrally located.
- 5/5
It’s a great and safe environment with good services.
- 3/5
Outside the room was loud music and people well after 10pm.
- 5/5
They didn't you they also had room service and gave you a tab at the bar and restaurant they was also very friendly
- 5/5
A great place to stay with a cool vibe. Everyone I encountered was cordial, and the amenities are very nice and convenient. Clean facilities, clean spaces.
- 5/5
Hip friendly convenient location hotel! Comfortable bed! Great amenities
- 0.5/5
Black smudges greeted me before I laid on the bed comforted also I all under the sheets i found pube hair and dirt that couldn’t be me because I checked in at 10:30pm and was out by 11:45pm due to a lingering fume that smelt like a honest sewage problem that my room frangrence spray couldn’t mask
- 4/5
Comfy bed and cool vibe. Nice manager. The floor blackened our feet, probably from the highway soot, otherwise clean.
- 3/5
Smelled bit weird and had encountered a cockroach in my room
- 5/5
Will definitely stay there again.
- 3.5/5
The appearance and style The beds were to high off the ground and the mattress was too soft. I I was awakened by the sound of a cockrill at an unearthly time in the morning which sounded like it was right outside my bedroom window
- 5/5
Food was delicious, I loved the Burger I ordered a Five Star burger. Thank your Chef! Cooked as I ordered. ;) One little thing, I didn’t know I had to request my bedding to be fixed or request fresh towels. I know now.

And I haven't gotten my room deposit of 100.00 back on my card 3 days since checked out.

The deluxe king room was a closet. And I haven't gotten my room deposit of 100.00 back on my card 3 days since checked out.
- 5/5
This place never disappoints. I love the rooms and the retro style. I love the swimming area. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The breakfast you have to pay for when you rent the room. If you don’t mind doing that go ahead you won’t be disappointed. And the bar is fun great house dreams, and the prices are friendly.
- 5/5
The room was perfect the area was well maintained thank you so much.
- 5/5
Everyone from the front desk to the bar staff to the room cleaning staff were professional and helpful. They were friendly and fun with the wonderful amenities. The pool and bar provided the perfect getaway for us and they even had a dj at the pool. The bed was nice and comfy and the water was hot. The fridge and coffee was perfect for our needs.
- 5/5
Very clean and modern.
- 5/5
It was totally worth it to pre purchase the breakfast online. Upon check in we received our breakfast coupons to use each morning. So worth it! They also gave us some drink coupons to use at the bar. The hotel was gorgeous and staff was wonderful. Also the gate made us feel safer. The bathroom has a barn door which sucks for privacy while you’re trying to poop.

Boutique Hotel Vibe from Big Brand Hotel. The room was super clean and modern decor in great shape. Front desk staff was very helpful at Check-in, though room wasn’t ready at check-in time. Great Rock Garden/Dog Park attached to property in rear. Saturday’s there’s a DJ and it’s pretty loud until 6pm if that not your thing. Was more of a shock since it wasn’t disclosed on website. Overall would stay here again, the vibe was great and the price was spot on.
- 5/5
Cozy stay after a brief stop in Az. Would stay there again. Late check in but staff was super helpful.
- 5/5
It’s a vibe
- 5/5
It's a very nice Hotel, the middle part is really pretty (especially at night)

Exceptional
- 4/5
Great design, thoughtful layout. Unfortunately, hotel needs some love (maintenance-cleaning!!), generally clean in room except bed spread had suspicious spot, smear. Staff is great, A+. Could be loud for some due to hwy proximity, but super convenient, felt safe, plus a great price. Just go prepared for the maintenance issues. I’d probably go again, but if looks more beat up next time I won’t be back.

Loved the boutiquie feel. The bar and food was exceptional for such a small property. The room were a bit cramped, but otherwise comfortable.

- 4/5
The rooms are on the small side but still quite comfortable. Bathrooms are nice. Nice pool with available cabanas. It's nice to have a full bar on the premises.
- 4/5
The hotel staff was super friendly and made check-in a breeze. The only downside was there was some roaches in the room. Like not just a small one it was a good size!
- 5/5
We had a great stay, the rooms were great& offered all we needed, it was quiet & relaxing & the pool was brilliant. Bar area was very relaxing & the food was OK. Highly Recommended..
- 5/5
Beautiful decorations and nice pool
- 5/5
The breakfast was delicious. A nice variety of items on the menu. We never received butter but the person waiting on us was busy trying to manage the bar, take breakfast orders, and bring orders to the guests.

Besides improving the cleanliness of the room I’d also recommend hotel staff explain how to leave the property after 10PM when the gate shuts if on foot. I had to slip my key card through the fence to the ride share driver so that he could get in and pick me up!
- 4/5
The staff is really friendly and the amenities on the property are very nice.
- 5/5
All information was easy to follow and everything was clean
- 5/5
Clean room, reasonable price, safe location.
- 3/5
The property itself is older, the rooms are fairly small, and overall cleanliness and comfort did not fully meet our expectations. There is also no elevator and the AC unit was very loud and blew directly onto one side of the bed. Overall, the experience was not quite what we expected based on the photos and reviews online.
- 5/5
The pool was clean and enjoyable, the little walk up bar in the lobby is convenient to buy and take drinks to the pool area. Staff was friendly, rooms very clean and comfortable.
- 1/5
We didn't end up staying. The pictures are very misleading on the website compared to the area the supposed 3 star hotel is at. From the outside, this is more like a 1 to 2 star motel rather then the other. My only complaint is the misleading pictures. This hotel sits right across the street from a very rough neighborhood. Security may be good at the hotel, but last thing anyone wants to worry about is their belongings while staying.
- 5/5
Always such a great place to stay
- 4/5
Staff was great. Place was nice and clean. Rooms are a little small. Only lost points for how loud the freeway is, then again I was pretty close it. Highly recommend.
- 3/5
Also, I was hit with a sewage smell the moment I opened my room door. Other than that, the rooms were cute and the beds were super comfortable. The bathrooms are a little tight but are nice and clean. I stayed in two different rooms in the 2nd floor and they both smelled like poop right when you open the door.
- 5/5
Great service.
- 1/5
Nowhere on the website it states that no outside drinks or food is allowed in the pool area. We were literally scolded twice for bringing in a cooler, the lady was super rude. We were a big group renting 5 rooms, we had kids and had packed snacks for them which we couldn't use. We will definitely not stay in this property again, our group decided that this was not a good fit for our families. Please add the no drink or food in your site and train your staff to be nicer.
- 5/5
Nice place!
- 2/5
The first room we got smelled like urine and the floor was not clean. We wanted the refund but they said that we had to call Expedia. No time, we had things to do. They gave us another room. It smelled awful. It was combination between room fragrance with weed. The floor was not clean. Need to steam the room badly. There were some hair on the floor. We didn't even bother to take a shower thinking that the towels might not be washed properly. We felt uneasy when they asked for $100 deposit in case we trashed the room and make us wonder what kind of customers stayed in there. The quality is like Motel 6 except it's more expensive.
- 5/5
The first day I checked in I had placed the wrong dates on app. The front staff angel and daisy were super friendly helpful and assisted me with that issue so I can get to room. Love this place super clean as well as rooms, also food was delicious
- 5/5
The best hotel to stay in Tucson!
- 3/5
First thing I didn't like smell in the room when I opened the door. Room is well decorated and bed is comfy. Smell was not good. I have to use my perfume to make it manageable. Its kind of loud location cuz its right by freeway. Thermostat was difficult to operate. Pool is nice. It heated. Its cute decorated outside. Plenty of places to relax by the pool. Bar is right by it. I didn't like the smell in the room. Otherwise it was fine
- 4/5
Rooms were a little run down, but bed and pillows very comfortable
- 1/5

- 5/5
Super fun Vibe, music by the pool, good food and drinks. Friendly staff. Very fun mini vacation.
- 2/5
Inadequate parking! Collected a pending charge of $100 for incidentals that won't clear for 5 days!
- 5/5
Cool place. I’ll be back.
- 5/5
We were blown away by how nice, stylish and clean the hotel was. The staff were lovely. The pool area really cute. We ate dinner and the food was great. And we heard nothing at night, highly recommended!!
- 4/5
Super cute common area with bar, restaurant and pool. The rooms are not really sound proof so you hear people in the hallway as if they are in your room. You also have a constant hum of noise from the highway. Beds could also be more comfortable.
- 2/5
There was a large cockroach in our bathroom when we arrived (that we had to kill), there was an old piece of chewing gum on the air conditioner, and the floor was dusty. When we asked them to clean our room (one of the days that we were using the pool), they said they would but never did. Overall, very tight rooms, not clean, and below average service.
- 5/5
The area is super sketchy but the hotel itself is nicely renovated and I loved the pool area!
- 3/5
It was NYE, so we received a complimentary glass of sparkling wine at the bar. The rooms were extremely minimal. There was dirt and hair on the bed.
- 5/5
Great hotel! The staff were super helpful and friendly, the pool area was a perfect spot to relax, the location was convenient and we loved the bikes! Would definitely stay again!
- 4/5
Let’s be clear, this is a renovated motel. From the photos, you would not assume that so it is a surprise when you arrive. However you’re not getting the normal motel crowd, luckily. This hotel is right off the highway on like the access road. On one side of the hotel is residential and the other side it’s a strip of motels like motel six a budget inn etc,(They are gentrifying this area so in a couple of years, it should be up to par) And to give you the full picture there’s a dispensary two buildings down and a Waffle House within walking distance. Now, with all that said this place is super cute. Nice pool, cute little fitness area that actually has weights and a peloton and treadmill. The lobby is great. They have a bar, a restaurant and a coffee station as well as a microwave to heat up food. It’s a great place for a quick trip but nowhere I’d spend more than 2 nights (rooms are small but clean and well decorated). But what makes this place is there staff, they were great!!

Loved it so much I stayed an extra night! Super comfortable bed and pillows. Cute updated mid-century style decor and great location. Would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Very nice place
- 1/5
Breakfast was not included
- 1/5
I would never book anything with this company, as they wouldn't honor a refund, even when I had basically proven it was done fraudulently. Right after it was done and before check in time
- 5/5
This was a great hotel- it was clean and modern and had a very cool retro vibe. We felt the rooms we quite snug, but sufficient for a few days. I think if we had stayed for more than two nights it would have been tough to deal with the small space. The pool was great, but not heated ( quite cold!) and the food / drinks were pricey. Overall, for us, it was worth the cost for the great location and funky feel
- 4/5
Be prepared for not daily cleaning
- 2/5
No shower he’ll in the despensor
- 4/5
Parking was safe. Room was clean. I’m pretty picky on room cleanliness and always feel like hotel rooms could be cleaner with surfaces being wiped clean. But I did not feel uncomfortable and was able to use shower and bathroom not feeling grossed out. Did not use any other amenities.
- 5/5
Very artsy fun vibe
- 5/5
The staff was great
- 5/5
Great vibe. Very friendly staff. Cool decor. Unexpected find for our spring break trip and high value for cost of stay. Definitely recommend!
- 5/5
We really enjoyed this property and would stay here again. Very clean rooms, pool was nice. The only downside was they kept running out of towels other than that everything was perfect! Staff was also very nice.
- 3/5
Broken items in room. Paid for pool view, more like a wall view.
- 5/5
My mom and i enjoyed our stay at the Tuxon . The general manager /aka Bartender was awesome and super friendly . The pool is sparkling clean and the rooms were updated and modern and the beds were comfy ! Definitely would stay again!
- 4/5
The property was nice and it’s close to down town but there are several homeless people around the area. Nevertheless, we had no issues with our security.
- 5/5
Such a lovely property with updated/remodeled rooms that have so much charm and style. This very much matches the vibe of Tucson so well. Great amenities including a pool and loved the option to visit the bar and restaurant attached to the hotel. Also appreciated that it was such a clean room.
- 5/5
Staff was great, convenient location, cute accommodations for a road trip night over!
- 5/5
When we were checking in there was a DJ playing cool music between the bar and pool Just a cool vibe there Cool art murals surrounding the motel Our room was adorable beautifully decorated with a modern flair Bed super comfy
- 5/5
Great service
- 4/5
Well located to access both sides of saguaro national park. Friendly staff and a good experience
- 1/5
I requested an early check-in between 1 to 2 pm. The front desk staff told me thatnit was approved. I had to wait 2 hrs and 40 minutes for check in. I received a mutitude of excuses for delays from the Housekeeping Supervisor amd front desk staff. If they had just told me up front that the room wouldnt even be ready at the 3pm check in time I wouldve gone to lunch or done something else. I have stayed hereanyntimes in the past but will never do so in the future. They meed more staff. I wasn't the only one waiting for a room. The locatjon adjacent to the highway made sleeping almost imposssible.
- 5/5
Pool and staff were just awesome!
- 5/5
Super cute boutique Hotel would stay there again in a heartbeat
- 5/5
Hotel was nice! Only issue is that the vent in the bathroom needs cleaning.
- 4/5
Great pool. Breakfast was delicious. Funny blinking signal in the room was a bit distracting for sleep. I wish there were two chairs in the room so we don’t have to sit in the bed to watch tv.
- 5/5
The pool was a vacation itself!! Everythingwas very clean, staff was so nice, rooms are small but super cute!!
- 4/5
All great except there is a lingering odor in the room. A little like sewer but not sure. Happened the same in my previous stay
- 5/5
Staff delivers drinks and food to poolside! Such great service! Great bar...excellent breakfast and dinner menues also. 24 hour coffee station. Ill never stay anywhere else when I come Tucson...which is very often. Kudos to VOCO TUXSO. AND STAFF!! I give it a solid 5 star rating. ☆☆☆☆☆
- 4/5
The staff, free areas of pool, and general vibe were great. Location (by freeway) and with thin walls, left me wishing they handed out ear plugs at check in.
- 4/5

I wish it was in a slightly better location and the music at the pool on Saturday is a little intense but the vibes and food at this place were incredible.
- 5/5
We stay at the Tuxon hotel at least once a month when travelling to Tucson. Our most recent visit was a great surprise with a very large suite! We always enjoy our stay due to the staff, the bar, the pool and comfortable, clean rooms. The front desk staff always go out of their way to make sure we have what we need. I would definitely request the suite if possible.
- 5/5
The lobby area is wonderful at The Tuxon. Love the ambiance, the bar and they also do a very nice breakfast. And the pool area is wonderful and the water felt great since it is heated. The beds are super comfortable and the rooms are updated and nice. Loved the bar area for an evening cocktail and the manager and staff are top notch.
- 5/5
The pool was beautiful and refreshing on a hot day…although there were no pool towels. Thankfully the front desk agent brought some out. This hotel is so awesome, very friendly and helpful staff, rooms are great, the gal at the restaurant was fantastic! Only complaint I would have is that my room keys had to be redone 4-5 times… they demagnetized very easily! Will definitely stay here again!
- 2/5
Tiny room, no bell desk, unorganized check in, not worth the cost.
- 5/5
Really cool hotel - room was nice, lobby/bar/pool area is great. Dj playing on a Saturday afternoon, lots of kids in the pool - seems like a family spot. Didn’t eat but the food and drink menus looked perfect.
- 5/5
Immaculate rooms. Great amenities and soap
- 4/5
Room was clean and newly remodeled. Good location for biking. Great amenities with onsite bar and restaurant. Quiet. Beautiful property.
- 5/5
I had a fantastic stay at this boutique gem! As a mother traveling with my daughter, I felt completely safe and secure throughout our visit. The property is fully gated with access controlled after 9 PM, which gave us great peace of mind.

I visit there every year once a year. Nice rooms, great service and very friendly staff .
- 5/5
My favorite easy stay in Tucson.
- 4/5
While the area around the motel was marginal and the exterior of the building looked dated the rooms were updated, clean and bed comfortable. Proximity to I10 did not present to much of a noise issue.

Excelente todo ! La atención , las habitaciones son muy cómodas , nuestro descanso siempre es placentero cuando nos hospedamos aquí… Gracias.
- 5/5
I couldnt be more happy or impressed with your staff
- 4/5
The location is ideal for getting out of town fast (for hiking, etc) and also for visiting all of the gem shows. The bed is incredibly comfortable. The staff are always super kind. That said, every time I stay I’m a little less satisfied. I didn’t recall how loud the freeway is, no matter what room you’re in on the property. Also, I get there’s no microwave in the room bc you have an on-site restaurant, but come on…if I go out to dinner somewhere and have leftovers I need a way to reheat them. And this last one is a little obnoxious, I know…it would be awesome if the pool were heated. I know in the summer that isn’t necessary but in winter it would be really nice to be able to take a dip. If it’s 80 during the day but 40 at night the pool is still super cold.
- 5/5
Spotless room. Staff went above and beyond to be helpful.
- 5/5
Clean room. Staff was friendly. The food and drink options made me feel like I was in the Southwest. Liked the pool and murals.
- 4/5
Everything good other than wait to get in room. Not ready til 5pm. Waited 1 1/2 hours
- 3/5
The room was surprisingly quiet for what was probably a conversion of an old model 6. The staff was a bit surly and there was some "surprise fees," like $50 to check in early. And then one person said we could get a better room, but when we checked in the other person said it was out of their hands because it was booked on Travelocity. So they can't controlled the rooms in there hotel? or some receptionist can and others cannot? That seemed pretty fishy. The area is a sketchy as well. Looks like a quick walk to town and it is like 20+ minutes, but you need to walk by a tent city to do so. Overall it was ok. But definitely design more for "show" then for service.
- 5/5
Absolutely amazing hotel to stay at if you're visiting Tucson. Not pretentious but so southwest! Best prickly pear margarita I've ever had! Complimentary breakfast was great. Immaculate room! Comfy Bed! LOVED MY STAY!
- 5/5
Great location. Staff friendly and facilities beautiful.
- 4/5
The room was in excellent condition and the staff was courteous. We had some issues when we checked in - so that's why it gets four instead of five stars.
- 1/5
Not as pictured, no shelves or drawers or other storage at all, room had only three hangars. Had to put their dumb decor (faux cactus, even the hotel phone) under the bed to get even a few feet of flat surface on the single bedside table so that we had a place to put our phones. I ended up having to store clothes on the bed and sleep under clothes. Absolutely horrible. And this cost nearly $400/night.
- 3/5
The hotel is cool but you have to be okey with the noise from the highway to enjoy the stay and sleep at night. Staff is nice but got overwhelmed with the high occupation due to the gem show. The food can improve, for breakfast the avocado was terrible and the beans cold…
- 4/5
Everyone nice polite and courteous . Very close to freeway and that was a problem. It not fault of hotel. Breakfast was not great. Scrambled eggs tasted fishy.
- 5/5
Such a cute boutique hotel. Loved that it’s gated, felt completely safe for two females and didn’t have to worry about my car. Was able to park right infront of our room which was also nice. We were on the outside vs inside facing all of the cute stuff. I didn’t realize when booking I guess. Everything was closed when we checked in but it’s all so cute, clean, new and trendy.
- 5/5
Staff and easy access into downtown
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, delicious breakfast.
- 5/5
Lovely front desk lady so kind sweet and nice made me feel right at home love the remodel and aesthetics
- 5/5
Great little place. The rooms are cute and clean, and it’s right next to the freeway so you can get anywhere here fast. We will be back again;)

Amenities
- 2/5
Check in was amazing. Staff is ALL so friendly. Upon check in the lady could tell something was off with me as my eyes were swollen and bloodshot. I explained we were racing from Texas to California to see my mom who suffered a massive heart attack. She gave my husband and I free drink tickets for the bar to enjoy a drink to help calm us and offered her support. I asked if we could just have a bottom floor room close to parking so it would be easy for us to load/unload the car to get a VERY early exit. Room was nice, clean, SUPER small beds. But the people upstairs! OMGOSH. Horrible in every sense of the word! We just wanted 4-5 hours to close our eyes and sleep before hitting the road. An hour after getting to our room, enjoying some delicious food and drink from the restaurant, we got the word my mother passed away. So now that 4-5 hours of sleep was definitely needed. Woke up at 2:20 to a leak in the bathroom pouring all over the toilet and floor. So having to clean that. It was just not the experience we had hoped for. Great place just ask for a top floor room.
- 5/5
Ambience very comforting and welcoming! Hotel experience is very modern and finsncially accessible.
- 1/5
She talked at me from behind the bar, in front of tons of other guests.. questioning me and my issue. Not professional. It should have been a quiet conversation, not across the lobby. Then, there was just a collection of little things… No coffee in the lobby 1/2 the mornings we went down. My speaker didn’t work. Maintenance boxes left under our bed. Hair in the corner. The pool is nice. Other than that, I would not stay again.
- 1/5
Staff did a fantastic job. Hotel sucks for noise and super cheap build quality. I feel like I'm in a New York apartment with the windows stuck open. I hear every other room. I hear every car go by on the freeway. Worst build ever! I hear kids and conversations in other rooms. Planes flying over. Trucks in the parking lot. Terrible!
- 5/5
nice teas, not just lipton. Also Angel checked us in and went out of her way to bring us a microwave so we could warm up food i brought from home. Very pleasant and helpful. Rooms, beds, and showers comfortable. Only tiny issue was that the toilet paper roll holder was loose (minor, but fixable).
- 5/5
We had a very late check in after midnight, around 1:45am on our trip; the evening staff Edward provided us beyond excellent assistance. With a warm greeting and acknowledgment of my previous phone call regarding the late check in situation, he helped us with a seamless check in, with all the benefits that we may enjoy during the stay. I really like hoco series by IHG, strongly recommended. Thank you for the great services and quality of stay.
- 5/5
Room is spotless and very newly updated. Staff are helpful and friendly. The property is really nice for the price.
- 4/5
Room was clean and spacious. Shower was first class.
- 4/5
Appreciated the updated-clean room, soft pillows/linens and mini fridge. Our room worked for us since our visit was short (2 days) but if any longer we likely would have went stir crazy in the small room. Very small. The pool area was very appealing but we did not use any amenities. Our hotel room is in the back of hotel (view of ran down Motel 6) but if we return I’ll pay the extra for the pool view (much nicer) Bar area is nice but we didn’t drink ($10 per drink was too much for our pockets) Overall, nice grounds, tastefully decorated and clean. Parting was easy and free. No continental breakfast but that was ok. I would stay here again if I’m in town. Good price on Expedia.

The room was nicely updated but had a noticeable odd smell upon arrival and during the stay that could have been easily improved with a spritz or diffuser with a signature scent. The bar experience also fell short; despite the fun poolside concept, the specialty cocktails during golden hour were not drinkable and the atmosphere didn’t live up to expectations. Breakfast was another miss, as the space felt crowded and understaffed, leading us to eat elsewhere. Staff was accommodating and pleasant.
- 2/5
Room was incredibly small with no thing to put my belonging in or on except for a single night stand that was cluttered with books and stuff. No table, desk, or closet in the whole room.
- 5/5
Clean facilities and clean room. Comfortable bed. Great value.
- 4/5
Yes it was adequate
- 5/5
Great staff. Great rooms.
- 5/5
Our room was very clean and comfortable.
- 4/5
We didn't eat breakfast. I appreciate the gated situation and while inside the gates I certainly was happy. Our room was cramped but otherwise nice and the beds were very comfy. We couldn't envision staying in the room for a week which would have been too cramped for us.

The guy working breakfast was amazing. Great staff and easy in and out process
- 5/5
Really nice and clean hotel. Staff were very helpful and made my stay very pleasant. Would definitely book again!
- 5/5
Always a clean place to stay!
- 4/5
Perfect example of don’t judge a book by its cover. The bar drinks and food was good, negatives - thin walls can hear everything outside, next door, upstairs, sketchy neighborhood
- 5/5

- 5/5
The great service and outstanding comfort provided.
- 5/5
Clean and Fresh smelling room
- 3/5
Floor was dirty- toilet paper holder was broken- bathroom base boards were dirty. Pics on website did not match in person. Requested a travel toothbrush at check in counter- did not have.
- 5/5
My expectations were completely exceeded and I was blessed with this stay by Expedia after a mixup with my last hotel. This was the absolute best accommodation for my situation. Not only was my room exceptional but every detail of this hotel was SPOT ON. The artistry and surrounding scenery was perfect. Myself my wife and dog are thoroughly enjoying our stay.
- 2/5
Dirty and flies come in through
- 4/5
The hotel had a cool vibe and the amenities were great. The hotel bar/restaurant was expensive for mid-level food. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
Love this place
- 5/5
Great overall
- 5/5
Over five nights I found the staff to be outstanding. The room was fun & functional. The location was convenient for everything I did.
- 1/5
The smoke detector went off because of shower steam and when I tried to call the front desk I realized the phone was broken so I had to get dressed and go to the office soaking wet in the cold. Nothing was offered as a compensation.

A $100 charge in case of "extras" was taken from my debit card. I was promised this back within 72 hours of check out. It took 30 days (the legal maximum) for the hotel to reimburse the sum to my card. I feel conned
- 4/5
Room was clean, pretty well insulated and quiet, efficient heating unit, staff very nice and willing to assist with any questions or concerns.
- 4/5
I didn't eat breakfast there. The decor was a bit utilitarian in the room, but workable. There is a frame built of metal rods around the wall opposite the bed. There is a small shelf running most of the width of the framed wall with two shallow drawers. One could not put more than a few specially folded clothing items in them. They might be best used for toiletries. Part of the metal rod frame is intended to hang clothes from, but it is so close to the wall that the hangers would hang a bit sideways so I can't imagine using it easily. It is also tall for an average sized person. The room smelled revoltingly strongly of sewer gas. I ran the water in the shower and sink for a few minutes and flushed the toilet and that seemed to help. The stopper in the bathroom sink would not lift and it didn't seal completely. I tried to fix it myself, but gave up as it was late and I just wanted to go to bed. The seasonal prices listed on the inner side of the door to the room were exorbitant for the room. Of note, the bathroom barn-style door did not provide a visual seal. There was nearly a 1 inch gap on one side, if the other side was closed to the stopping point and about a 1/2 inch gap if the door was not closed to the stopping point. It was a decent room, but I won't stay there again.

Amanda was wonderful and very helpful. I love my room! This place is funky and cool! Check in was easy. room was nice
- 5/5
I had not good experiences with the food. The ribs were so fatty never order them. I had ordered salsa and chips which you get guacamole too but the chips were uneaten due to the salt! Their menu is very limited. For the price of their food I expected much more than what was available.
- 1/5
I had decided to just suck it up and use the room to take a shower and use the rest room and freshen up and eat the breakfast I had paid for; however, when I arrived at the hotel, I was told they had just switched the rooms over and that they had tried to call me, which was not true as I had no missed calls or messages on my phone. I was told if I wanted a room for the next few hours I would have to pay for the room I had already paid for again. This used to be a really great property and was my go to on my way from LA to Texas; however, I will NEVER be staying here again. Nothing says hospitality and customer/service oriented standards by not allowing a guest who has paid for a room for the night to use the restroom.
- 5/5
Room was great, staff was amazing, the bar/restaurant were great!
- 1/5
I canceled it. They said I will be refunded. Scary neighborhood
- 5/5
Great customer service at check in and check out. Definitely recommend!
- 5/5
Very clean, staff was very nice and helpful, and great food and drinks at the bar

- 4/5
Clean room, great staff, solid amenities. There was some noise the first night but the manager made it better. Loved my stay
- 4/5
So, the neighborhoods around the hotel are SKETCHY AS HELL yall. But, ultimately, the room was small but clean and comfortable. We pre-paid fo the breakfast and there was NO COOK. So, they sucked. They offered us IGH points, I’d rather have my mine back. It was alright, I worried about our car.
- 3/5
The first breakfast was great. The second time I ordered the same breakfast the eggs were hard and the bacon was raw. The waitress brought back the potatoes and toast while they redid the eggs and bacon. I requested a refund of the meal. I was a waitress myself it was so wrong of the cook and the waitress to handle my meal like they did. I didn’t go back for any other meals. I ordered the ribs too b4 this experience and they were full of fat! Horrible
- 5/5
Service was great and the room very clean
- 5/5
Very cute and chíc hotel! Breakfast options were delicious and felt like a high end restaurant!
- 5/5
Room was clean and efficient - a little on the smaller side but the beds are a little lifted so you can fit plenty of stuff underneath, which we appreciated. Super easy bike starting point since it's near the path, and about ~5 minutes to downtown Tucson. The staff was especially very friendly and went out of their way to help.
- 5/5
A fun little oasis.
- 5/5
This is one of our stops when traveling to TX. Every stay is perfect!

I booked a “Pool View” room. That is not what I was given. Although it is a nice place, remodeled, the bones of it are old. I could hear our neighbors all night. The room A/C will not stay on to drown out the noise. Not enough parking either. Positives: it was clean, smelled nice, staff was nice, they secure the premises. Summary: We barely slept. Sleeping is the point of a hotel stay. My wife and I had planned on sleeping in, enjoying Tucson, but after the horrible night of sleep, we packed up early and left Tucson to get to our next destination.
- 5/5
The staff member, Amgel, was great and very welcoming. Really, the hotel looks and vibe as, we arrived.
- 5/5
The staff was engaging, room had a great view, Hilton beds are the best, great vibe all around.

Room was great. Very comfortable and cool.
- 5/5
Nice updated place. Good vibes.
- 5/5
Room was comfy, though small. It was clean and comfortable. Pool and bar/restaurant was great. Nice people working there.
- 5/5
This hotel is so cute! Usually hotels along the freeway are iffy but this one is really nice and super clean. It was a very pleasant stay. I’ll be back
- 4/5
Room was clean, and excellent customer service from night staff to morning staff
- 5/5
The bar and patio are great! All the staff were fantastic and our room was great. I would add one small caveat… the rooms are small which I don’t mind EXCEPT the AC unit was so close to the bed that the cold air blew directly on the person who was sleeping there. The vent was not adjustable, this being said nobody could sleep on that side of the bed.
- 5/5
Clean room. Nice property. Staff was wonderful
- 5/5
Really cool place, delicious food and drinks at the bar, and amazing live music. Met some fun locals who were there just to enjoy the atmosphere. Rooms were nice and seemed recently upgraded too. Very comfortable bed and pillows. We are from Gilbert and may comeback just to hang out at the pool and bar. Thanks!
- 4/5
The pool was excellent. The bar was pricey but well stocked. Everyone that worked there was incredibly pleasant. Disappointed that breakfast wasn't included.
- 5/5
Very nice. Cozy.
- 5/5
Beautiful and clean stay! After a long drive we really appreciated the room service dinner and drinks. Also appreciated the gated parking lot. Would stay again.
- 5/5
Why the area where the hotel is looks suspicious, once you get to the hotel, it is a cute place with beautiful rooms and property
- 5/5
Loved the hotel and the pool area. Very relaxing. Close to downtown and staff was great.
- 4/5
Courteous and helpful staff. clean modern rooms. Fun vibe. Lovely landscaping
- 5/5
Angel was very helpful. She was very polite and accommodating. The grounds are maticulously kept. I love the decor and layout of the lobby. The room was very clean and comfortable. I really wish we had more time to stay and see more. The lobby has a full bar and coffee bar. It looked interesting. We just passef through but we will be back. Thank you for everything Angel, you rock!

Check-in was probably one of the best experiences. Claudia was a Beyond amazing. Room was clean, properly was nice and also quiet area.
- 5/5
The front staff Cassandra was absolutely awesome to interact with as she was kind, answered all my questions was so kind as she was beautiful. This hotel is a hidden gem for sure. Pool, lobby was clean presentable and very outstanding. The room was nice, the bed was sooo soft and comfortable, best sleep I've had in a long time. I will be returning soon. Will definitely high recommend this home.
- 5/5
The Tuxon was super clean, vibrant, and convenient location to the freeway. The staff Marcos and Cassandra were absolutely amazing and made us feel at home. We will 100% be staying here again!
- 5/5
This property is well maintained and adorable
- 3/5
It’s a very cute hotel but I do not like the location. Didn’t know Tucson at all when I booked it and I would try to do a nicer area of town next time.
- 3/5
It was very loud at before 6 am I could hear people talking as if they were in the room with me and then again at 7 am different people so I assume the walls must be not very insulated. It’s unfortunate because it was a really nice and comfortable room and the service was great. But driving a long road trip and not being able to get rest made it a bad experience.
- 4/5
Yes parking was easy and secure. The mountain did not stand out based on our room location
- 5/5
The staff at the hotel are really helpful, professional and so courteous :)
- 5/5
All great for the value! Well done and highly recommend
- 3/5
Clean room, bed was comfortable.
- 3/5
All in all not a bad place, just expected a bit more for the money. Very small rooms, bathroom especially small.
- 5/5
The property itself is great. The neighboring area made me a little nervous but we never had an issue and the entire property is gated.
- 2/5
Rooms seemed clean but very small and beds were very uncomfortable.
- 5/5
Clean room and comfy bed- slept well

- 5/5
Super friendly staff. Very comfortable and reasonably quiet.
- 5/5
Everything was clean and updated. Staff was very friendly
- 4/5
Very nicely remodeled, with a few quirky exceptions….clothing storage was almost nonexistent, there were no real towel racks. Staff was great, food was good. Neighborhood was kind of “iffy”. Overall experience was exceptional
- 5/5
Trendy for the younger folks, clean, safe and quiet for older folks (seniors). This is the 2nd time i have stayed, will come again.
- 5/5
Nice place to stay, will stay there again. Quiet and great staff.
- 4/5
Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable & shower is great!
- 4/5
Its charming, and cozy. I'd like to see more healthy breakfast options.
- 5/5
A staff to remember! Super kind and anticipated, tiny hotel with lovely vibes.
- 3/5
Very loud window AC unit. Requires ear plugs to sleep.
- 2/5
Room was small but had good creature comforts Bar and breakfast were nice Both treadmills were not working but no notification that they weren’t My reason for low rating is that the hotel allows local people to bring their entire families to the pool and monopolize all the chaise lounges and have like 20 people in the pool all day long and no towels available for people that actually are paying to stay there I didn’t get to use the pool for the two days I was there but it looked nice from my room Extremely disappointed I wouldn’t have stayed there if I knew these things Be warned! Anybody can be there if they pay the minimal fee to use their facilities It was literally like being at a water park
- 5/5
Love the hotel Staff! There was an issue with the actual door at room. Bartenders and desk staff so friendly and helpful!
- 3/5
Room didn’t have fridge or iron small room for the price. Bed was hard not comfortable..
- 4/5
Overall the property is well maintained and clean. The room could use a little more attention to detail. It wasn’t dirty, but it wasn’t super clean either. The pool area was well maintained and the DJ played great music. We had a pool view king room and weren’t bothered by the dj. Music stoped at 10pm very respectable time. The staff was great also.
- 5/5
Great place to stay. Modern and clean hotel
- 5/5
My wife and I had an amazing stay at the Tuxon. Very clean, modern feel, friendly staff, loved the whole vibe. Will stay again for sure and will highly recommend
- 5/5
Friendly, clean and great vibe!
- 4/5
Not enough towels in the pool area, even after we asked staff to bring some out. Other than that, it was a very pleasant place
- 4/5
The hotel was very nice and clean. All the staff were friendly and helpful. There was a lot of freeway noise and noise with the complex in the morning. The hotel and parking was very safe. The area around the hotel was worry some. Also the lights over the pool sent a beam in my room at night. I also didn’t find the hotel easy to navigate as disabled person.
- 4/5
Really cute, fun property but there was a flood in my room and so they had to switch my room.
- 3/5
My room was clean and the public areas are mostly well-kept
- 5/5
Staff is amazing! Cassandra, Marcos, Anna, Amanda all of them wonderful and helpful
- 5/5
Peaceful
- 5/5
I am pleasantly surprised at how lovely the room is at this hotel!
- 5/5
Very cool place! We enjoyed the atmosphere!
- 4/5
Love the 50ish kitchy art and look to the whole place. Made us feel like we are on a vacation!
- 4/5
Unique, cool, fun, vibey
- 5/5
Tuxon Hotel was a great palace to stay while getting our daughter moved in to U of A. The decor and aesthetic were perfect! The room was a little small but served it purpose of getting some rest after moving her in. The pool was clean and perfect for our sore muscles. Will definitely stay again!
- 4/5
The staff was very pleasant and helpful, especially Cassandra. The breakfast was quite good. The room and grounds were clean. The only negatives were the limited dining options, small slightly "worn" rooms, and the surrounding area was a bit run down. However, we never felt unsafe. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
- 3/5
The room was very clean, ordered the breakfast with our stay was good but didn’t come with a drink, just the entrée. Its was quite food really hear the outside or next door neighbors either.
- 4/5
The parking is not convenient if you have a pool view but they do have the property gated at night which helped me feel safe!
- 4/5
This was such a cool place. It’s a remodeled old motel and they did a nice job! The food is great and it has a lovely pool area. The room was smaller than we would’ve liked but we were only in Tucson for two days and only needed it for sleeping and showering.
- 5/5
The beds are really comfortable and the food there is really good
- 5/5
Great customer service from all the staff especially Esmeralda, she was so nice and kind with every question or request we had, thank you
- 5/5
Great concept. Well located, comfortable and modern
- 5/5
Nice hotel, very clean and amazing staff, specially Cassandra one of the welcome host at the front desk
- 5/5
The bed was comfortable, everything in our room felt clean and spacious for a couple.
- 5/5
All the staff was wonderful
- 4/5
It’s a lovely redone motel with beautiful little touches. Shower head had good pressure, bed was very comfortable with ample pillows, and there was complimentary bottled water in the fridge. Pool and bar area were lively with lots of happy people. I stayed away from the pool and my room was quiet. The doors were loud so I was awoken several times by other doors in the building closing but that’s to be expected. Would absolutely stay again.
- 5/5
Whenever business brings me to Tucson, I stay here. It is truly one of my favorite hotels I've ever stayed in.
- 5/5
Loved the cleanliness and fresh upgrades. It was a perfect distance to the things we wanted to do downtown, too.
- 5/5
A great place, shower a little small but great place. I felt very secure during my stay.
- 4/5
It was really nice hotel and beds are so comfy
- 5/5
they have created a little oasis within its walls that is fun and contemporary. nice little bar. great breakfast - fresh and lots of options. would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
The staff was really nice and let us stay where we wanted for the day .
- 5/5
Parking was bad but it was also a holiday
- 5/5
Will come back next 4th of July
- 5/5
We had a wonderful stay. The food and drinks were delicious.
- 5/5
Great stay. Wish the rooms were bigger but they are comfortable and clean
- 5/5
Room was nice and cold. Clean floors. Bed was comfy. Only complaint, the pillows seemed to be breaking down from the inside.
- 4/5
Modern rooms, friendly staff and nice pool area. The gym equipment were not functioning
- 4/5
The room was comfortable, but the bedside table was dirty with a sticky residue . The room had only one small trash can in the bathroom area . The pool area was nice , but after it got a bit more crowded people were openly smoking weed. Breakfast was the best part of the stay .
- 5/5
The only complaint is the neverending, horrible house music at the pool and bar. It's still thumping I'm my head!

The rooms were updated but small. The pool vibes on Saturday we cool with the dj and drinks and food.

I was told at checkout that I was to be charge 137.34 for a one night stay. My credit card bill shows the charge as 237.34.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly.
- 5/5
Nice hotel Good location Recommend removing or replacing outdoor rugs in front of hotel doors. They are dirty & dont fit the vibe
- 5/5
Very chilling stay Tuxon hotel. Feel like we are at Caribbean Island.
- 3/5
property was nice, however I have not received my 100 dollar deposit and my stay was May 10.
- 4/5
An older hotel that has been remodeled that is - convenient to downtown Tucson. Drawbacks are: (1) it is right next the highway although most rooms are faced inward toward the middle of the hotel where the pool is located; and (2) the immediate area the hotel is in is very very bad.
- 3/5
i really like the look and feel of the place. i love the party lights over the pool area - very cool. i liked the gates around the property to offer privacy. the laminate flooring had some gaps - so there were little issues with craftmanship. the plug-in cube on one side of the bed didn't work. the door had issues closing. slept like a baby - nice sound insulation and comfortable bed. i got up to leave for my morning walk and found i could not close the door. i needed to leave to do my exercise and could not. i called the front desk and they came and couldn't close it either. the guy who does such thing would not be in for an hour. they switched me to another room and i had to move all my stuff. no other issues until i left. someone smoking just outside the door on the so-called non-smoking grounds. i go to check out, wondering if the clerk would have the same initiative as last night to want to offer something for my trouble. no such luck. and i complained about the smoking. she just shrugged. oh well. i guess all i can do is warn my friends that, although a fancy look on the outside, this is just as blah as the rest of the hotels in this area.
- 5/5
Tuxon Voco never lets their customer satisfaction guard down. This is the seventh time I have booked and I am highy satisfied withtheir ongoing customer service and comfort. Tuxon provides a variety of amenities to keeptheir customers satisfied100%. A great spot to rest, lodsge, and bring the family.
- 4/5
Very clean, but rather small rooms. It's an ok place to spend one or two nights. Breakfast wasn't great. Beds are comfortable. Room needs a full length mirror. There is very little counter space anywhere in the room to put your things like toiletries etc.
- 5/5
Beautiful place, nicely decorated. Great customer service. Easy access to the I-10 and very safe. Definitely pet friendly.
- 5/5
Love the staff! They are the best!
- 5/5
Loved the staff very friendly, they have a beautiful cactus garden to hang out and cook out. The only thing I had a problem with was the room not having good lighting.
- 5/5
Excellent value minded hotel. Unfortunately in a bad area.
- 5/5
Had a wonderful one night stay. Great staff and nice atmosphere.
- 5/5
I loved this extremely well curated boutique hotel. I usually stay at The Graduate when I’m in Tucson but it was all booked up due to U of A graduation. I will most definitely be staying at the Tuxon again. Great place, great people.
- 5/5
We stayed at the Tuxon because of many of it's unique features; the Americana charm of the old roadside motels of yesteryear mixed with modern luxurious amenities. We were in town for a convention and to do some hiking. The Tuxon offered close proximity to the convention center (a mere 20-30 minute walk via trail or through the neighborhoods), while providing a better value for our dollars than the downtown hotels. Breakfast wasn't free, but it was very good, and they even offered vegan meats for my breakfast sandwich (a rarity for any hotel). They had a complimentary coffee bar serving LaColombe, my favorite brand! If you want another option, Waffle House is a short walk away. It was too cold for us to enjoy the pool on our stay, but we were able to get out and explore the town via Uber. The beds were comfy and the area was quiet, aside from the hum of the freeway traffic. I'd stay at the Tuxon again, hopefully when the weather is warmer. We did enjoy cocktails at the poolside bar. A nice atmosphere to take in the stars and desert air. Downtown is a short uber drive away, or you can walk the nearby trail up to the streetcar stop and ride into town that way for free. I'd highly recommend this place if you're a budget conscious traveler with a taste for something different.
- 5/5
We enjoyed staying at this hotel/motel. Everything feels out west vibe and the service is fantastic. Hot coffee, cold showers and very clean rooms. Please keep up the western modern vibe!
- 4/5
Thanks!
- 5/5
They locked the gates to the properTy at 9pm, a key card could access the perimeter fence.
- 5/5
My daughter has attended U of Az for the past few years. Our go-to place to stay is The Tuxon. It is convenient to the airport, the University, and where our daughter stays. They have a fair rate, clean and comfortable rooms, and a nice staff. We always feel very well taken care of. The live music and bar by the pool is a vibe. Breakfast options are good. This is a gem of a place. So cute how they have renovated and fixed up an old motel to make it a fun, safe spot to stay while you visit your college student.
- 5/5
Loved it will stay again.
- 5/5
Very cool place to stay with a lot of neat renovations.
- 5/5
The Tuxon is great. The food is excellent. The staff is 5/5 stars. The only drawbeck is the area around it has burnt out motels, shabby housing, and two scummy restaurants. The Tuxon has a gate, and the staff often closes it.

Cool place. Easy access to main highway. Great staff! Fun activities at night. Food a big upgrade from most places.

- 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay and would def stay again. Room was comfortable and clean, pool was pretty, and while right off the freeway the property was close to Congress, and a straight shot to Sagauro National Park. It was pet friendly and has a nice park to walk the dog in.
- 5/5
Well renovated hotel. Bar and restaurant were really good! Rooms were small but clean and comfortable. Only drawback was there was a lot of noise from the parking lot. I’d stay here again but would ask for a room facing the courtyard for that reason. They even had a Moon viewing party the night we stayed which was fantastic! Would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Boutique hotel with a lot of character. Close to many attractions.
- 5/5
Challenging as a lovely place to stay but they were replacing the felt roof. This meant that black pieces were floating over for days. They also (understandably) decommissioned the pool during this time. The pool was one of the reasons we booked.
- 5/5
I would recommend the clean property with entertainment. I would like a few more food options.
- 4/5
The location was easy to get to the freeway and allowed me to get around town with relative ease.
- 5/5
Love this place!! Great staff. Fun vibe!!
- 3/5
The hotel was in a great location for the Kino Sports Complex, making it very convenient for our Pickleball tournament. The recently remodeled rooms were clean and comfortable. However, the pool area was overcrowded with little to no shade—umbrellas were scarce, and the cabanas offered no real sun protection, making it unusable during the heat of the day. Additionally, the surrounding area felt a bit sketchy. Overall, a good stay for the tournament, but the pool setup could definitely be improved.
- 5/5
The staff shows the most hospitality
- 4/5
We enjoyed our room--but booked this stay for the resort experience--which we did not get. Bar closed at happy hour when we arrived on Friday. Cook missing for breakfast service on Saturday morning. Ridiculous price point without the perks. Will fight the refund battle & let u know how it turns out vPool area looked nice.
