Reviews
The hotel is generally well-liked for its quaint, historic charm and convenient location in downtown Camas. However, some guests have issues with the shared bathrooms, noise, and lack of amenities like elevators and parking.

This is an older, historical property and that means there are limits to how many modern amenities and features can be crammed in to it. Within that context, this is a comfortable hotel in the middle of a cute (and also historically relevant) town and we enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
We love it there and have been many time. Location, history, accommodations all excellent. We love the cafe for breakfast and for the first time went to Tommy O’s twice. Great food. Nothing I can think of.
- 4/5
It’s located in downtown many places around to see, good check in service.
- 3/5
We loved the location but the poor quality bed, pillows, and ac units made for a bad night sleep.
- 2.5/5
I didn't get a breakfast and parking was the worst! I I only used the room 1 night Room size parking was VERY hard to find 3rd floor room without an elevator
- 4/5
Great location and helpful staff (when they were around). My room looked out over the Main Street and there was considerable street noise in the evenings over the weekend. The soundproofing between rooms was not great but not a surprise considering the age of the building. I had hot water on the 3rd floor so that was a relief. It would have been nice having help getting my bag up to the 3rd floor but I arrived after hours. Also, my room was small and did not have sufficient room for a comfortable sitting chair in addition to the bed. Thankfully the hotel offers a common atrium/sitting area and I made use of that during my four day stay.

I truly enjoy historic hotels, but this one leaves much to be desired. The hotel states that the hot water may take a long time to reach the shower and they ask you to forgive that because of the age of the hotel. Sorry. Nope. Lots of hotels older than this one can deliver hot water much faster. The wait time wastes an incredible amount of water while you wait - not a very caring for the environment practice on the part of the hotel - shame on them. Install "On-Demand" water heaters! Housekeeping is not properly cleaning the rooms - I don't believe the floor board edges, or the feet of the furniture have seen a vacuum cleaner in years. The tile floor in the bathroom is very nice, but unfortunately that is as far as "nice" goes. The shower enclosure is a cheap shower unbefitting the status or price of this hotel. The hotel gives you ear plugs - bad sign! But it is quickly understood why. It is not the outside you hear; it is the next room! Soundproof the walls! Ridiculous. As a retired building inspector and architect, I find it amazing the city of Camas has passed the hotel for occupancy based on the stairway: it is not at code. Not all risers are of the same height in the second flight, presenting a possible trip hazard. WE had one of the larger rooms and it was tiny and cramped. Check-in clerk was rude. Check-out clerk was friendly. Camas is a cute downtown and if that is where you want to stay, this hotel is your only choice. I guess they know it.

Beautiful old hotel. Will definitely stay again.

The bed was a full and right up against the wall. The shared bathroom (2 per floor) was cold and the water never got hot even though they said to let it run 15 minutes. it was not clear that 12 rooms shared a 2 bathrooms that you had to leave your room to use. Cold bathroom and water

Breakfast at Madeline’s was another highlight—flavorful and served with genuine warmth. What makes the experience even better is the location. You can step outside and enjoy charming boutiques, great local food, and beautiful nearby parks that make wandering the area a joy. A memorable, refreshing visit. I’m already looking forward to returning.

Its very cute, the staff is helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable about the area. The decor was very quaint and comfy, and the area around was absolutely beautiful. The rooms are very small, not necessarily a bad thing, but I like a larger space.

Love this place, 3rd time staying here. Got a room with en-suite bathroom this time, well worth the extra money. Lots of old world charm, located in the heart of downtown, near restaurants and shopping. Came with a delicious breakfast! Will stay here every time I’m in town.

The hotel is very homey and welcoming. The walls are thin. You can hear everything outside and rooms next door.

My tv barely worked, the shared bathroom, is a literal health concern especially the showers, the rooms are so tiny you can’t even do anything in them, the fact you can’t even get hot water after 15 mins for the shower is insanity; the

Favorite place to stay, feels like home, cozy, clean, staff is always pleasant and friendly.
- 3/5
Nice staff. Clean, and nice location, but noisy. Our robes, were removed by cleaners but not replaced. They room our new plastic utensil we needed to eat our leftovers with. No decaffeinated coffee.
- 5/5
The staff was great. The room was cute, and best of all everything was in walking distance of the hotel.

Love this boutique hotel, always enjoy staying here when I’m in town, great location. Staff is amazing and I love Natalia at the café.
- 2/5
Have an extra charge when checking in. Though I have paid on the Expedia.
- 4/5
Room was great friendly staff and amazing location!
- 5/5
My room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was great and answered any questions that I had about the hotel or the area. Oliver was very kind and very informative. My last night I was upgraded to a room that had its own private bathroom and included breakfast the next morning. Natalia's is the best place for breakfast. Amazing food. And you have to check out a movie at the Liberty theater in Camas. They are just starting to decorate downtown for Christmas. One of the most beautiful downtowns I've ever seen. Thank you to everyone at the Camas boutique hotel and everyone in Camas for being so kind and welcoming. If you're just looking for a basic room the European rooms are great you just have to share a bathroom. The bathroom at the top of the stairs on the third floor closest to the top of the stairs is better than the other bathroom. The water heats up much quicker. I hope to be back sometime soon.
- 5/5
Camas Boutique Hotel.is a beautiful historic building. I loved the vibes of the entire place. I could've spend hours wandering the halls looking at all the old photos. The room was adorable, clean and cozy. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat and will recommend it to everyone I know. Whether on vacation or just need a staycation away from home, this place is perfect!
- 5/5
Very charming boutique hotel! Loved the feel of it and we had a great view from our windows of the fall trees. Would stay again!
- 5/5
The place was nicely decorated and clean. I enjoyed reading and having coffee in the atrium area.
- 5/5
All the comforts of home, cozy, cute, clean.
- 3/5
Alert! They charge you a mandatory $5.00 tip for housekeeping which is obnoxious and because of that I would not stay here again. Tipping should be a choice based on service.
- 5/5
Excellent location
- 5/5
This hotel was great for our over night in Camas. We had our dog traveling with us. The only down side was the shared bathroom situation.
- 4/5
It was quaint and cute but I didn’t get the exact room that I booked for some reason so that was kind of a bummer. I booked the Camas Lily room specifically because I wanted the purple colors and the name of Lily stood out to me but I ended up in the room next door. My other complaint is that when you’re looking at the pictures online it makes it look like the en-suite I booked would have a shower tub… I was planning on taking a bath but it was just a stand in shower. So just a bit confusing. I will stay here again though but I will call and book the actual room I want so that I can make sure it’s correct.
- 5/5
So much fun!!!

Quaint boutique hotel in the heart of downtown Camas. Very walkable, friendly staff, enjoyable experience!
- 5/5
This boutique hotel was amazing! I like historical places to stay, and the room was quiet with a lovely view of downtown Camas.
- 5/5
Just like my stay in South of France
- 5/5
Great value and best location in cute downtown Camas
- 5/5
We love the historic charm
- 5/5
Beautiful Historic Town. It was close to where I was headed , which was Fern Prairie Cemetery.
- 4/5
The staff at this hotel were very helpful. The hotel itself is older and the rooms are very small. The room itself and the facilities were very clean.
- 4/5
I’m down-starring only because I got locked out of my room one night after seeing Superman at nearby cinema…came back after desk closed (at 8 pm I think?), had to rouse clerk who roused owner who got me back in an hour later via the (empty) room next door. Turns out the clerk had no idea there were batteries in the door locks…clerk’s & owner’s reassurances the next morning (at checkout) that they’d be checking ALL those batteries were gratuitous. What.is.so.wrong.with.door.keys.people?

Limited bathroom facilities for upper-rooms (can be) a problem for those needing immediate availability: Book early to get a room with private bath, otherwise hope you have a strong bladder!
- 4/5
Quiet and convenient.
- 5/5
We have stayed here in the past and decided to try a room with a shared bath because the others were already booked. And once again, we loved it! Cute kitchen on our floor and two large shared bathrooms… we never had to wait for someone. The rooms have robes, coffee maker, fridge. Just WONDERFUL! Also near many cute shops and the weekly farmers market : )
- 5/5
What a delightful hidden gem. Such a sweet spot. Super cozy, comfy, and cool.
- 5/5
Love this place
- 5/5
On a leisure trip through Oregon. Hotel is beautifully situated in the historic district. Parking was easy in front. Staff was very friendly. Bed was a bit narrow for a couple.
- 4/5
Great place in general. Only negative is the AC unit was super loud, but the hotel did provide ear plugs in the room.
- 3/5
Lots of stairs, small rooms, authentic to 1911 structure.
- 5/5
we loved the charm of downtown Camas and easy access from Camas hotel to Natalia‘s for breakfast, just across the street for pastries and a cup of coffee or just a little further down street tacos at Nuestra Mesa
- 4/5
Old vintage property and it is understandable that it would have the smell of an old house, but masking it with a strong aroma of an incense was not too pleasant. The window AC rattled loudly to no avail, had a difficult time sleeping.
- 4/5
a Separate toilet with sink without the shower would be helpful. Also notice upon late arrival where shared bathrooms were would have been great.
- 5/5
I had to recommend this family owned hotel, excellent location and they do go out of their way to give you a great experience. Very comfortable and clean rooms. Old building but updated on the inside.
- 5/5
Great price and great quality of property. Would stay here again.
- 3/5
Room was small. No room to do anything except be on the bed. There was garbage left in the room. I didn't understand the little plaque that stated about water useage for cleaning sheets but then having unnecessary linenes on the bed for decoration only purposes. Way over priced for such a tiny room. Had ice bucket but no ice machine to fill it.
- 5/5
One thing that is SUPER IMPORTANT before you book, check to make sure your room is not one of the rooms with a shared bathroom (3rd floor). It wasn't a problem for me but it can be a suprise if you dont realize this.
- 5/5
Very clean and quaint historic hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Sweet small hotel in a sweet small commercial neighborhood. Obviously affluent (Superman and Jurassic world rebirth playing at the tiny movie theater a block away), but not overrun with shoppers/nightlife seekers. No elevator is the only drawback, but I’ve managed.
- 1/5
An absolutely adorable little hotel right in the cool part of Camas. We will definitely come back!
- 4/5
We didnt find the front counter help too amazing but everything else was fun and we enjoyed our time immensely
- 4/5
Cute little Boutique hotel! We only had a short stay, but it was a great little place. We were on the top floor, so it was very quiet. Great to walk around downtown from!
- 4/5
Very quaint little historic hotel in the heart of downtown Camas. The rooms were really small, but at least had a sink. The shared bathroom smelled gross and I wouldn't use it. It's only good if you're staying 1 night and don't intend on taking a shower.
- 4/5
The property is quaint, located within a nostalgic shopping area. Parking was offsite and two blocks away in a gravel lot. I wasn’t crazy about that feature.
- 5/5
The Camas Hotel was a pleasant one night stay in a sweet little town. The room was small as befits this old historic building but there was a nice atrium just down the hall. Breakfast was provided down the street at a little diner. So enjoyable!!
- 5/5
Quaint little town, charming and clean boutique hotel. Bang for you buck stay with plenty of options for dining and place to hang out if you just want coffee and a light meal. Will definitely stay here again given a chance.
- 5/5
Cute downtown.
- 5/5
Unique experience
- 5/5
Room was cute, and clean.
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
Some TLC is poured into the maintenance of this older building. The common bathroom was no different than sharing a bathroom in somebody’s home. I walked the beautiful neighborhood and enjoyed the Spring flowers. There are a lot of cute shops and restaurants to include a breakfast diner just up the block. I’m a single woman and I felt safe here. No elevator. Parking was in a nearby lot.
- 5/5
Location is fantastic! Nice small, quiet and quaint area with some restaurants and some nice bar options as well. Regular room was kind of small and wouldn’t recommend more than 2 in a room, but we knew that going in and it was perfect for what we wanted/needed. Front desk staff were super nice and helpful as well!
- 5/5
Great little boutique hotel right in downtown Camas. The staff was excellent, and the amenities were great! I'll be staying here again soon!
- 5/5
What a wonderful little hotel in the heart of downtown Camas. The hotel is obviously older and historic, but the bed was extremely comfortable and it was quiet. We couldn’t believe that breakfast at Natalia’s cafe was included with our room. The ham and cheese omelet was fantastic! Loved being able to stroll the downtown shops and enjoy this beautiful historic district.
- 5/5
Very NOLA vibe .. was concerned about the shared bathroom .. but it was actually very cool. Would stay again

Awesome hotel in a great location
- 5/5
its nicer than it was when I grew up here so they did a nice job renovating it - not thrilled about the shared bathrooms though but otherwise was nice.
- 4/5
The hotel is located in the heart of Camas's historic district. While only 2-3 blocks long, it is an active and cute area. The hotel room was clean and comfortable. The staff was excellent. We'd stay again.
- 5/5
Great experience!
- 5/5
Very nice.
- 4/5
This is a really fun little hotel. Super cute. I was traveling with two small dogs. The hotel is really old, but nicely renovated. I unfortunately could tell I was in a pet room though. I had to keep the window open day and night because of the urine smell. We had a ensuite room, and I will stay here again if I am not traveling with my dogs. The front desk ladies were so nice and helpful. Super nice location around shops and restaurants. I reccomend this location.
- 4/5
Great place to stay after some hiking.
- 4/5
Being in the center of town was fun.
- 5/5
The Camas Boutique Hotel was a lovely hotel in downtown Camas.
- 4/5
Was a good stay. We were traveling with pets. Our room smelled strongly of urine, other than that it was nice. Staff was friendly.
- 5/5
The person running the front desk was very kind, polite, and helpful.
- 5/5
The staff are great! Local to great dining and antique shopping. I had a very nice time.
- 5/5
Great hospitality, historic feel
- 4/5
Wasn't used to sharing a bathroom with everyone else in the hotel but otherwise everything was quite and ok
- 5/5
Great accomodating staff
- 5/5
Beautiful conservative room. Quiet, elegant and clean. Good fragrance making the whole place smell so good. Good quality restaurant just down the stairs. Beautiful lakes two miles away. Chopping store at walking distance.
- 4/5
Very elegant and comfortable. Room was cold and the sheets were kind of thin. But other than that it was a pleasant stay. Quiet and a good size for rooms. There are little shops around. Be aware there is a common bathroom. I would bring slippers and your own hair products.
- 5/5
Quiet, nice , clean and super friendly!
- 5/5
Wonderful place to stay!
- 5/5
Beautiful atrium
- 5/5
This property and area is so cute and charming! I had no idea there was a space like this in Camas, will definitely be back!!!!
- 3/5
The staff was very nice and room/bathroom were clean. However, the room had a very strange odor. Perhaps it was a cleaning product they used. Parking was inconvenient. The restaurant next door that was supposed to offer discounted breakfast for hotel guests was closed during breakfast hours so that was also an inconvenience.
- 4/5
Boutique, cozy, friendly staff
- 5/5
Great spot
- 4/5
Beautiful old hotel! This town is soo charming. Very walkable!! Wonderful restaurant options!! We are planning trip back!
- 2/5
The focus of this propseems to be what is easiest for the staff. We were put in a room across from the common bathroom at yhe top of the stairs on the 3rd floor. There is no elevator in this hotel which I knew and had requested intentionally a room on the 2nd floor. Two emails and two calls to confirm our check in time because the staff did not note this after the first call, at dinner time, and no indication from them that my room request was not being considered. Mandatory gratuity was added to the stay for maid staff without prior warning during communication at check in. Why don't they just increase wages? Frustrated, prior stay had been enjoyed.
- 5/5
Absolutely charming as ever and you can walk to everything so easily. I had the queen room with private bath. Very dog friendly too!
- 5/5
It was cute and clean! Just what was needed for a one night quick stay.
- 5/5
Standard older boutique hotel with shared bathrooms. In the old town area of Camas with local stores, restaurants, etc.
- 5/5
Cute hotel and town! Very clean and welcoming to all. Would stay again.
- 5/5
Property is quaint and located in downtown Camas. Very walkable to restaurants and shops. Rooms very clean. Enjoyed staying in this historic renovated hotel. Staff was very helpful. Liked the vouchers for Natalia’s restaurant for breakfast. Stayed in a room with private bathroom and appreciated that option. Parking was nearby and easy to access. Really enjoyed the stay, would stay there again.
- 4/5
Wonderful surroundings
- 5/5
This property is full of charm and a great location. I stayed here before a trip to airport. So convenient.
- 2/5
First of all, i just want to say this hotel was not what I needed at the time: arriving late from PDX and leaving early to go back to PDX; an old woman with bad knees, traveling alone. I arrived after dark to a totally deserted area, no other people at all, no front desk clerk, and a walk up stairs to the third floor. I had to check-out before the front desk person arrived to sell me the breakfast voucher to eat at the cafe down the street as the “breakfast included” option, from 7-9am. Front desk not peopled until 8. Could breakfast voucher not have been left in my room, and charged to my cc if it was found gone in the morning? This hotel is for budget travelers who have time to enjoy the historical little town of Camas and its charms. And Camas Old Town is quite lovely and even still has its old movie theater showing the newest releases. secondly, BEWARE OF EXTRA FEES. I don’t approve of having the third party booking fee charged back to me on my credit card (that fee is to buy access to a large list of customers and advertise itself to us); nor do I approve of the hotel charging my credit card for the TIP to whomever cleans the room, saying it is for “my convenience.” GREAT latte available at cafe across the street.
- 4/5
It was a very cute place to spend a few nights.
- 4/5
Nice hotel, narrow steps but overall well done. If I was in the area I would stay there
- 5/5
Darling hotel. Clean, charming and had everything you need. They held our bikes for us and accommodated everything we asked.
- 5/5
The best kept secret outside of Portland. Relax and rejuvenate at this sweet spot after a sweaty day of no sales tax shopping! What a gem.
- 5/5
Nice
- 2/5
They can do so much better! Nice town, but all the noise from ac and refrigerator make everything shake, can not sleep well at all!
- 4/5
Great location, staff is very friendly! Perfect for a one night stay.
- 5/5
Great hotel. Friendly staff. Nice room. Mini fridge in room. We were on the 2nd floor and there was a community ice machine and microwave in this little ante room with a little courtyard like dining area. Very nice. What impressed me the most was i received a call from the hotel telling me they found a stylus in the room. They are going to mail it to me! I have left jewelry, pajamas, etc in hotels and never received a phone call. I would call them and they would tell me it wasn't there. I would definitely stay in this hotel again.
- 3/5
Shared washroom but otherwise clean. Interesting how old the building is
- 5/5
Great place to stay
- 5/5
Very nice and cute place to stay!
- 4/5
Pretty small room but for such an old hotel it was good. Bed very comfortable and breakfast at nearby restaurant complimentary was delightful
- 5/5
Great stay, cozy room that had the bathroom, located in downtown, great location.
- 4/5
Comfortable and clean. What I didn’t like was that there was only one robe for two people. Mismatched wine glasses and one coffee cup. I called ahead and ordered a champagne and chocolate package and upon checking in, the front desk receptionist blurted it out which ruined the surprise. The curtain in the window was too long which made the AC cold air hit the hot window and not cool the room efficiently. I used safety pins to pin the curtain so it allows the cold AC air to circulate in the room. There were two bath towels, two wash cloths and 7 hand towels in the room.
- 4/5
Old historic building, so expectations have to be managed. Nice staff and breakfast inclusion is great.
- 3/5
Historic Hotel in good shape but as expected, very small. No place to put anything, not very convenient. Needs an elevator badly.
- 5/5
And my wife aren’t much of the crowd type of people so this fit us very nicely
- 5/5
Great place at a great price!
