Our first time at a Bed and Breakfast, and so worth it. It's a little tricky driving in if you're not used to the roads in that area, but it's tucked back and very quiet. It was nice watching the sunset or the humming birds from the front porch, and the room was very spacious. The owners are so accommodating and friendly and the breakfast was amazing. If you like inns with historic and rustic charm, you should try this one!

Everything very good... I recommend to have dinner there... amazing food and place

Beautiful b & b and so secluded. Crabtree Falls room so atmospheric with log burning stove. Comfortable bed and big room. Bathroom needs updating but all clean. Tasty, simple breakfast. Brenda prepared us a charcuterie board which was very tasty. Honesty bar. Games abound. Outdoor terrace. A beautiful secluded stop off. Would stay again.

Our stay was part of a week long trip to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We cannot say enough great things about our stay- our room was comfortable and cozy- the entire inn and staff are perfect for a quiet getaway and we didn’t want to leave. Food is excellent and many fun things to do close by including wineries and historic places and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Highly recommend- Brenda and Kevin are amazing hosts and people. We will be back!!

Friendly owners, amazing breakfast and pristine room! EV charger is a very nice added bonus too.

I did enjoy my stay here. If you can find it in your heart to overlook the very scary driveway that gets you to the property, you will enjoy it, too. The room was clean. The owners were nice. It is a very relaxing place to spend the night. You have to enjoy the rustic setting, though: squeaky wood floors and the old cabin smell. Also, no TV or WiFi. I would go back again, though.

This was a beautiful, quiet and serene setting as a stop over on our way to our son’s graduation in Lynchburg. Brenda and Kevin were very accommodating and kind. The place was so quaint and full of character! Loved our room and the bed was so comfy!

Excellent service and attention from the hosts. Very good chef. I am planning to get back there again.

I loved being surrounded by beauty. I loved the lodge feel and our spacious bedroom. The owners were wonderful. The breakfasts were good. I would’ve loved to stay longer. It would be a great Fall vacation

It's not really the owner's fault at all but the place is built on a rather treacherous bit of mountainside in the Shenandoah. The website doesn't really give much warning about this and there isn't any sort of guardrails. There is a hell of a 'pucker factor' getting to and from the location as it's just one lane. But once you get there- My GOSH! So beautiful-- so inviting.. and so, so so sooo cozy! Makes it all worthwhile!! As I said before, unless a millionaire wants to donate $$$$$$ for them to build a two lane bridge connecting the property to the hardball, not too much to be done!!

The Sugar Tree Inn was relaxing and peaceful. Nice variety of snacks and drinks for purchase. Several seating areas inside and out. Pretty view from the porch and new upper level deck. We even spent time in the loft reading a book. Loved everything about this Inn. Especially the owners. Great people. We will be back again sometime.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience at the Sugar Tree Inn! We were celebrating our 41st wedding anniversary and enjoyed exploring Lexington, Staunton and Crabtree Falls! The breakfasts were fantastic and the staff so friendly. We will definitely consider returning!

We had a great time. The owners of the inn were really friendly. The evening meal was very good. If you like to stay in a nature setting near a lot of outdoor events. This is the place.

Amazing venue all around! Bonus- they’re Minnesota nice!

Everything was perfect for us. Beautiful and charming inn and setting. The innkeepers are hospitable, and we were able to arrange dinner options for when we arrived. The inn is well equipped for whatever you need. We really enjoyed the fireplace in our spacious room and the super comfortable bed. Breakfast was yummy and plentiful.

It made you feel cozy and at home. Love the quiet and everyone seems relaxed.

This hotel is located in the middle of the mountains with great views, clean rooms, and good food at the restaurant. It's a great "un-plug" place, no TV or wifi.

The inn was quiet and beautiful! The fireplace was perfect and the thoughtful touches at the Tavern were much appreciated.

My wife and I stayed in the Crab Tree Falls room in the main cabin. The place was really nice and cozy. Every night the Owner turned on the main fire place and we could sit in front of the fire. The kitchen was convenient for us to get coffee in the morning and also get other drinks and snacks at our leisure. They cook breakfast every day and it was very tasty. Dinner is optional at a cost on the weekends, and we had other plans so we never did get to try the dinner. Other guests said the dinners were amazing though. The Owner's were very nice and seemed to be there without being there too much. The driveway is steep so be prepared! We were only a few minutes away from the Crab Tree Falls hike along the waterfalls so we did that one day. Also, it is very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. There are no TVs. At first we weren't sure about this, but actually came to like it very quickly. We loved this place and will definitely be back again.

They were well stocked on all different types of drinks, but the cold brew, which is free, was my wife’s favorite. There is not Wi-Fi, which is what we wanted, but we had cell service in case of an emergency. Overall, great place to stay, great hosts and great views.

A beautiful Inn in a beautiful area. The owners are “over the top” nice people. We really loved our stay.

Kevin and Chef Gerry were excellent host, from the moment we pulled into the drive way until we left to go home. The St. Mary's Cabin was the perfect room for my granddaughter and me. Clean, comfortable, charming and a great view. Dinner and breakfast were outstanding and they both went out of their way to make out meals great and enjoyable. Great time was had by all! We will be back! Thank for the great weekend!

Fabulous stay. Friendly and comfortable.

The stay was nice. However, I booked this mountain stay because they listed fireplaces and had Wi-Fi. Their fireplaces are not functional and the do not have Wi-Fi. i would not have stayed here if I had known these things. I am disappointed that your website did not have up to date information about this hotel.

Cozy, clean, warm and very attentive staff. A real gem
- 5/5
Yes, the driveway is a bit tricky, and I wouldn't want to drive it in the winter, but it wasn't THAT bad. It has excellent access to the Blue Ridge Parkway, which was our #1 reason for choosing the inn, but now we will return just because it is so nice : ) Bring your own WiFi hotspot!
- 5/5
Great spot, owners were friendly and helpful. Food was great. Wish we had a longer stay. We will definitely go back. Bed was very comfortable. Very relaxing atmosphere. Loved sitting on the front porch watching the humming birds.

Nice cabin feel to the room
- 5/5
A wonderful ski lodge /country manor vibe in the woods between the Blue Ridge Parkway and the interstate -- yet in a world of its own. New management and upcoming and ongoing upgrades, but it is already a very special place to enjoy the mountains. Great breakfast but check on other meals -- lunch/dinner not available every day.
- 5/5
Very secluded, yet close to Blue Ridge parkway and other local sites. The perfect getaway ftom todays hustle and technology.
- 5/5
Our room was spacious and quiet. The hosts were very accommodating, and had wonderful meals. It's not the easiest place to get to; the winding and sometimes steep and narrow roads leading to the house must be a real challenge in non-ideal weather conditions. Nonetheless, you're rewarded in the end with a wonderful experience!
- 5/5
Our second stay. Beautiful getaway and they happily accommodate any requests! Friendly, welcoming, incredible breakfast, gorgeous location.
- 5/5
Sugar Tree Inn was a very pleasant experience.

We stayed in the main lodge. Really nice place. Owners were very friendly and helpfull. It sits way back in the woods. Breakfast was very good both days. Would like to go back some day.
- 5/5
We had an amazing, albeit short, stay. We will return to enjoy the beautiful setting and the warm hospitality.
- 5/5
Great hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Peaceful location with wildlife on the doorstep and the room had plenty of book and puzzles for the whole family if you fancy a lazy time.
- 5/5
This is an exceptional place if you want a quiet restful retreat to decompress.

Quiet and peaceful. Great to get away from technology. Owners were extremely friendly. Would go back to actually enjoy the things around the inn like the hiking

Wooded mountain setting wonderful. Once i got used to drivway was fine. I am not used to driving in mountainous settings, that said, mountains was why i came. I will come back soon.

Love, love, love this place and will be returning! It's my kind of place - rustic chic, warm, inviting, peaceful, quiet, etc. We stayed in the Cyrus McCormick room and loved the wood burning fireplace and the very comfortable bed. No TV or internet, but that did not bother us. The next morning, three deer were just off the patio calmly looking at us. The breakfast was awesome and the main lodge is beautiful! The host, Russell was so charming.
