    When we arrived check in was great we left to go get dinner around 1030 and when we came back we had to circle the parking lot for 30 minutes after paying to be able to park there and called and had someone come out to help us find somewhere to park and they were having us parallel park where you would typically get towed. Wound up parking in a walk way. By this point our food had gotten cold and the room had no microwave.

    The only two concerns I would mention is: 1. the noise from the air conditioning. It worked well. However, when the air turned on, the sound it made sounded like ice in a blender. 2. Parking at the hotel should’ve been complimentary for at least one vehicle per room.

    The hotel was what to be expected for a 3 star. You could tell that the stuff running the bar and kitchen were heavily understaffed but they did the best they could and I appreciate the service. While the breakfast buffet was pretty standard the pasta dish and drink I had for dinner were excellent.

    Staff was nice and accommodating in every area of the hotel. They provided free shuttles to the ocean front and the staff were professional and courteous The pickup and drop off spot by the ocean was ideal to get to the boardwalk and the beach. The guests were friendly and the rooms were clean and their location was perfect. No complaints

    The staff is excellent very helpful and professional the hotel it self the rooms where very clean the problem was a private events that they have in the hotel for 3 consecutive nights , the event the hotel can’t control how many people go to this event we paid for parking over $30 dollars and we didn’t have parking cuz it was so full the the people have to park on spot that they aren’t marked as parking people drinking and very loud and stared you down it make it an uncomfortable experience while you can get to your room cuz they have 3 elevators but only 2 work on a full capacity hotel you had to wait a long time just to get to your room , oh and it doesn’t include breakfast on you’re stay and the rooms are on the smaller size

    Came for a wrestling tournament and given how many youths were present the hotel was kept clean and amenities were great. Location can’t be beat especially if you need to go to the convention center.

    The hotel was PACKED and that is a good thing but it was near impossible to catch an elevator. There was an evening event happening at the hotel every night. With elementary to high school athletes in the building and the overwhelming smell of pot - it was not a good situation for our family. We really liked the convenince of this hotel - it's clean and well maintained - for the event we are attending but we will be rethinking our stay next year.

    Convenient to get to the convention center. Upon arrival, we were told the pool was closed, no notice of this before hand. It was reopened Saturday and the water was disgusting. It was green and cloudy. The bathroom door in our room was broken and my child got stuck in the bathroom. There was a huge water leak all three days that we have been here in the hallway outside of our room. The floor was so wet our feet were getting wet through our shoes. The hallway smelt terrible!!!! Also, the lady Brittany who works at the front desk in the evening is not very pleasant and quite snippy. Dayshift staff was great, very kind and helpful.

Our second room, we had to let the water run in the shower for 15 minutes every time we wanted to take a shower so that the water would get hot. After being out all day, we came back to our room at 6 PM and found the door open. The room had been cleaned, but they never closed the door. The carpet in the hallway on our floor was dirty and had not been vacuumed.

    We were in town for one night. The staff was wonderful, the accommodations were good. There was no water pressure for the shower. It may have been a City problem that morning or a problem with that particular room, but we were lucky to get the shampoo out of our hair. Otherwise, it was a good place to stay.

    My room smelled like a wet dog, my bathroom door was broke, the pool was closed for "renovations" Refrigerator didn't keep anything cold!     Our room smell and the tub was nasty and dirty. Pillow was used and abuse let not forget the bad dust my grandson Was sneezing real bad the bed was uncomfortable. We had to get some to disinfect. Room mell like MOLD. Couldn’t even sleep hard mattress.

    Our room had some issues. Our showerhead wasn't working the whole stay. The first night they replaced our showerhead. Then yhe next day the shower was cold water and a sprinkle coming out of the replaced showerhead. This trip was not at all what I expected. Very disappointed with this stay!

    The women at the front desk the second we got there were beyond nasty. I don't care if someone else has caused you to be in a bad mood, you should never take it out on innocent people. And they proceeded to stay that way throughout the duration of our stay. The next time we travel to Virginia for a cheer competition, we will definitely stay somewhere else.

    I started in 609, the shower took 15min to heat up and then black unknown substance start to bubble out of the drain, which then started to fill the shower basin, I had soap and shampoo all in my hair, I had to stop my shower short and had soap all over me. I reported to staff they offered new room, but it was late I was tired, so I stayed. The staff came to fix, but couldn't fix issue and wanted me to move. So had to move, went to 605. To which was fine until heat kicked on, the unit was loud and sounded as if something was grinding inside of it. Report at check out. Worst stay. Breakfast was good staff was very nice, but wont stay at this location again.

    Room decor was older, not enough rooms with 2 beds, fitness bathroom was dirty everyday, refused late checkout but said they’d rent the room to me another night so vacancy was there, gym had little equipment and dumbbells only went to 50# and there were no sanitary wipes the 4 days I was there so things had to be dirty. IMO, this place is living off proximity to the sports complex and doesn’t care about upkeep. Will just stay elsewhere next year.

    There is ample parking at this site and we were very disappointed to find that we were charged for parking right there in the hotel lot. Parking in this lot was free the last time we stayed at Doubletree Virginia Beach. The parking registration process was awkward and time consuming.

    Heat control did not worked, the rooms was grossly hot all night. Turned the AC down to 57 the lowest and the room stayed 73-74. During the morning with the sun, it was so hot we had to check out, we couldn’t even rat in the room.

    Closest hotel to the Amtrak bus stop connection, about two blocks away. Rented a car to get around Virginia Beach and Norfolk. Stayed in mid January when not much was happening and freezing. Hotel itself met my basic needs, clean, staff were friendly and helpful.

    Really nice stay. Ivy at the front desk was so friendly and check-in was easy and quick. The other young woman at the desk was equally friendly and she worked back to back Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Great parking and the room was very comfortable and clean.

    My only complaint is that there was no hot water in the shower. When I notified the hotel, they immediately sent someone to fix it, however, that still didn’t work. We had to take cold showers. That’s my only complaint. Other than that, the staff is friendly, the hotel restaurant has great food options, and the room was clean.

    Staff is great! Love the fresh, warm cookies given at check in. That’s a great touch! My spouse left his toothbrush at home. They had some at the front desk no charge- big save there. Downside- either we had really old pillows in our room or their pillows have no cushion to them. I slept with two pillows and my head went straight to the bottom of the pillow- no support. Made for a rough night of sleep. Bring your own pillows if need be. Overall, wonderful stay though. Thank you!

    We encountered some problems, but the staff was responsive. We didn't have hot water, and we were moved quickly. The toilet in the new room ran constantly, no matter how much handle-jiggling we did. Nonetheless, the friendliness of the staff more than made up for the minor inconveniences. I guess the only other thing I would mention is that we were told to scan a QR code to pay for parking. Yeah, no. I asked for the fee to be put on the room bill and they gave me a hang tag. Again, I appreciate the responsiveness of the staff.

    I liked everything. However, the shower water was not hot enough. The water pressure in the shower was wayyyyy too low. The carpet should've been cleaned. There was also, mold and holes at the bottom line of the tile in the bathroom. With thus opening it causes mold to occur which is unhealthy.

    There was a man in our room when we were about to enter. He was the maintenance man doing repairs on the room. We returned to the front desk and this wonderful young lady named Ivy gave me an upgrade. It was awesome. She was very apologetic.and made sure we had a great stay.

    The rooms are super comfy roomy and beautiful. After staying there a few times I was surprised at this visit that there is now an added $10 parking fee. Just add it to the cost if the room because people are sick and tired of being nickled and dimed at every turn.

    Everything is wonderful minus the new policy of 10.00 per vehicle per night to park. Seems a little steep when last summer parking was always free for the hotel. Pool was nice just had SUPER high levels of chlorine— water was very very cloudy due to it. The restaurant service was terrible. By the time my husband got our food and got back upstairs it was soggy and cold. Ice cream for cake was melted all in box I stead of separated. Very disappointed

    The customer service is outstanding. Ivy was so accommodating and helpful throughout the entire stay. We are at the hotel restaurant everyday and enjoyed everything we tried. It is about 10 minutes from the beach and I would highly recommend.

    Hotel and rooms were nice, however the shower was super weird. First off, the floor of the shower was slightly stained brown, which is gross, but I understand that it’s hard to maintain that kind of surface. Secondly, the water took FOREVER to heat up and sometimes never did. I would be finished my shower by the time the water would even start to warm up, even after letting it run for like 10 minutes beforehand. Also, we were there for 5 days and 4 nights… one toilet paper roll is not enough for that amount of time. We asked for more and they dropped a single roll in our room. We were conserving toilet paper which is never something thought I would have to do on vacation, especially considering the price I paid for the room. LASTLY, we were excited that the hotel offered room service, so we ordered some the first night. To begin with, it was very difficult to reach her restaurant. Then we were told the food would be there within 20 minutes and we waited an hour just for the food to be cold and barely mediocre.

    A gas/carbon monoxide smell forced everyone outside in the heat for over 3 hours with zero updates and nothing offered but a weak “sorry.” No refund, no free parking, no meal—nothing. On the last night, their parking QR code failed, and instead of comping it, they scribbled a temporary code and still charged me. I could have paid less elsewhere and gotten better treatment, cleaner conditions, and more respect. Overpriced and just not worth it.

    Staff did not even try to accommodate my reservation because it was done on a third party app. I was told there are no king sized single bed rooms but when I went on their website they still have some available. After bringing this to the staff attention I was still told the same thing. Pool was filthy and hotel had an Odor that smelled like a porta potty. Quite a bad experience.

    Our stay at the Doubletree by Hilton was outstanding! The staff was somply fantastic! As a matter of fact, we booked our stay through Expedia and it turned out to be the wrong hotel. Upon finding the hotel we really wanted to stay at, the staff was over accommodating. We were able to contact the hotel with the wrong booking and they were willing to cancel our reservation and waive all fees, however Expedia refused to give us a refund and we ended up paying again at the hotel we wanted. At first Expedia said it was up to the hotel to waive the fees. The hotel happily did so but told us Expedia would have to refund our money since the payment went to them! When we called Expedia they stated their policy is no refund. I can tell you now, Doubletree by Hilton is by far the BEST hotel to ever stay at, but we'll NEVER, EVER book anything through Expedia EVER again. As a matter of fact, we deleted the Expedia app.

    The glass shower door came off track and fell on my granddaughter. I prepaid for breakfast. It was $131.00 for my family to eat. The kitchen manager started yelling and cursing because her co worker didn't relay the message about food not being on the bar. I paid for 6 buffet meals. She threw a pan of bacon and was cursing .No potatoes, no sausage, cold French toast. She was very disrespectful. We refused to eat after that because I don't know if she might have done something to the food.

    This hotel was very clean, with a friendly staff and a smooth check-in process. The only downside is that the parking lot could use better lighting, especially since you may have to park farther from the entrance when nearby spots are full. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel!
