Clean room. Hotel in a sketchy area. Our door didnt fully shut but was secure with the additional lock. Someone tried to push the door open. Front desk staff was very attentive and patrolled after we called to make them aware.

It's an older motel, that was clean and quiet. Easy to access and close to food/shopping.

Front desk harassed us our entire stay, very uncomfortable and ac unit smelled like urine. Will not be coming back !

In all fairness I didn’t stay here. This was a last minute, need to leave, semi-urgent matter. I got to the inn, I saw the outside and wasn’t pleased. I also do not stay in places that do not have rooms indoors for safety reasons. I also wasn’t too fond of the area. I booked my room through hotels.com so when I got there I told the front desk personnel that I didn’t want to stay so she could just check me out. I understood I couldn’t get money back but I was okay with it. I booked with an actual hotel and left in an uber.

We got there late , and we didn't notice the ceiling of the bathroom, until my kid when to the bathroom and dirty water was dripping heavily on his face which was disgusting I bring it up to front desk and ask to cancel my reservation the rooftop was almost falling on us im still waiting for then to refund the rest of my nights ,I did agreed to pay for the first night

Tub had a few dirty spots. Hair in sink. Didn’t make it to the grab and go breakfast. Overall quiet no loud music etc. quiet nice neighborhood restaurants within walking distance. Would stay again.

My first room smelled like smoke and I had to switch rooms.

The couple working when we checked in and the lady working in the morning were both super friendly and kind. The property itself is a bit run down and needs some attention. The room wasn’t very clean.

As one of the cheaper lodging options in the area, this hotel was fine. The rooms were clean. The bathroom is outdated and the tub was peeling. There is very little soundproofing. The check-in area smells of stale cigarette smoke, my children would not stand inside. They advertise free breakfast, but for our stay that was only Chewy granola bars, juice and coffee. We will spend a bit more and stay somewhere else on future visits.

The staff was pleasant. Thw room was dirty. There was stains on the walls. The most common are were not cleaned like the lite switches, door handles and bathtub/shower. The bed protectors was not zipped all the way, the mini refrigerator was old and rusty with an odor, and towels had stains. I requested the room to be cleaned because the tub/shower was not cleaned. It had a ring and sides were dirty. My aunt walkes to the Food Lion to purchase cleaning products.

This property should've been $20 a night with the ghettoness, I received from a Wyndham property. Stains and marks all on the walls of the unit. The shower was disgusting. He put me in a smokers room, and I dont smoke. He was on facetime upon my arriving to the property with no care of checking in guest. Staff was unwelcoming. I asked him for an receipt and he informed me because I booked through Hotels.com, that I needed to get it through them to receive an receiptof my stay in whichI knew was untrue. Ive stayed at many Wyndham properties and they always give me an receipt. Then to asked for a $50 incidental fee for an room that is already dirty is diabolical. On a positive, the sheets were clean, I can tell that. Grocery store and restaurants nearby.

Traveled with middle aged children, Elderly live in the hotel building on first floor so anyone who walks or makes any noise on second floor catches back lash. I was accused of not complying with housekeeping although I work throughout my stay and needed rest. They harassed me about housekeeping, about my children, waited 9 days to charge me a fifty dollar fee and are very discriminating. Never again

I reserved a k8ng room. All they had was a room with 2 double beds. They moved me 2 the 2nd floor halfway thru my stay because maid service took the bedding off both beds but didn't have any sheets or blankets to put back on it. The room they moved me to was another double. That one at least didn't have an uncleaned bathroom, or bugs but still had trash underneath the nightstand and behind the bed. Oh yeah and the male maid who came to my door at check out yelled at me and grabbed my arm and tried to pull me out of the room because he wanted to clean it and I had already called the front desk to request a later check out. The only present part of my stay was the nice lady at the front desk in the mornings. The same maid that grabbed me and tried to pull me out of the room was yelling at her and the "manager" when i came down to check out. I almost forgot my non smoking room stunk like the smoking section of a bar, and on the 2nd night there they ran out of towels so the night desk man gave me 6 bathmats instead of towels. This was the worst place I've ever stayed.

The bottom od door did not seal well it was cold. Also put us on 3nd floor the stairs were anightmare of ice very unsafe

For cheap hotels it was a pretty good one wasn't a crackhead motel so that was a good thing as far as budget hotels are concerned this is a great one

The staff is always friendly and welcoming area. Feel safe perfect place to stay while my father is in the hospital in Norfolk General.

Staff is always very friendly rooms are clean and surprisingly comfortable. I’ve been down there several times and stayed at this hotel each time due to my father being in the hospital at Nordbrook General the area is incredibly quiet and feels really safe, which is a big plus.

Air conditioning was excellent. The shower and sink had excellent hot water. Parking was easy. Tv had a good selection of shows and movies. No coffee maker in the room. Skimpy with towels. Comfortable pillows and beds. Some staff was friendly.

We had roaches in our room, the smell was musky sweat and we didnt have hot water.

Unfortunately the place wasnt great. We had roaches in our hotel room and they didnt pick up the grabage from our room. We went for a funeral and we night earlier than expected and they wouldnt refund our money for the night.it was a disappointment

Area is ok.. close to airport and worked for what I needed. Rooms are ok, for the money.. but you get what you pay for. Shower needed fixed.... And a deep clean would benefit the place ..

My husband and I stayed the Friday night of Labor Day weekend. My main problems were 1) There was a small roach in the bathroom. 2) they advertised Breakfast Included, however, what was provided was coffee, juice and a granola bar.

Room smelt of mildew upon arrival. Woke up to baby roaches around the hotel room, especially in bathroom and around fridge. Plumbing is not properly secured to wall to prevent this. Poorly maintained/appearance is not up to par. Highly doubt I'll return or recommend.

Room had a musty smell, it’s typical for a place of this type and price. Shower works fine, tv is an ancient model, and once again I got what I payed for. It was a place to sleep and shower. I think I will pay a little more for at least a queen sized bed and no musty smell in the future. “Breakfast “ is a joke, coffee, juice and some granola bars.

The location of the property is perfect. Lots of options around. The rooms were not very please. The staff was kind enough to let us see different options as our first one smelled moldy and the toilet seat was old and looked dirty. Most other rooms smelled old as well. 4 friends on a motorcycle trip to Va Beach from OH. He had two rooms Temps were In the 90’s. Ice machine did not work. Laundry machines did not work. Breakfast available was only coffee or tea, orange juice and chewy granola bars. One of the poorer hotels I have ever stayed at.

The staff was great and very helpful. Rooms were clean and well maintained.

The staff at check-in and checkout were very friendly. However the room smelled of cigarette smoke, part of the carpet was missing on the floor, you could see cigarette burns throughout the room, and the bathroom shower curtian rod was broken.

I am reporting them to Expedia who booked this the Virginia beach better business bureau. and filing a claim with my credit card company and reporting these people for the theft who knows how many people they have ripped off !!!

The location is a bit further from the beach than I expected, but thats because I didn't realize there are 2 Howard Johnsons in Virginia Beach. There were a few minor maintenance issues, but overall we were pleased. It was clean and comfortable! The staff was friendly and we appreciated the complimentary coffee, juice and breakfast snacks. Given the moderate price, I'd give a thumbs up and would book again.

The tv in the lobby was too loud so I could barely hear the person behind the counter talking !!! Also the tile in the bathroom in front of the sink was busted and loose !!!

It took a while for the wi fi to connect. Customer care wasnt any help, they said it was out on the property and nothing he could do on his end.

Absolutely horrific. Power went out multiple times, roaches, otherwise deplorable cleaning, the place was an absolute pit. Nothing on their website or on google is the same, everything is jumbled and inaccurate, and the service at the front desk is beyond rude. Constantly accusatory and trying to threaten us with extra fees. I wouldnt be surprised if they find a way to steal the deposit on the room. Astonishingly overpriced, a motel 6 on the worst side of town wouldve been an upgrade. Cant even fit everything thats wrong with this place as the max amount of characters is less words than my google review. Stay away from this place, do not give them any of your hard earned money.

The place met expectations for cleanliness and comfort. However, there were a couple of strong negatives. 1. We had the do not disturb sign on the door but housekeeping opened our door, 45 minutes before checkout. We had the chain on so no harm done but that's really not ok. I feel like, there are certain things a budget place can still do right, at no cost, and this is an example. Second, the breakfast was laughable. Juice and coffee both days. Day one was granola bars and a single, deflated orange. Day two was processed muffins. If I filter places that offer breakfast through hotels. com, I don't expect a buffet but this was actually insulting. If that's all you can manage, don't bother and let me plan accordingly. Lastly room had a slightly funky smell but that's typical near the beach. Definitely suggest looking elsewhere.

Building is old.walk up only. Parking is good and open. Staff are friendly but if they forget to do something they will call you...even at midnight to come fix it for them. Beds were comfortable and room was clean. Hot water took a while to get to the room resulting in alot or water waist.

The water was hot with nice pressure. The air conditioner was excellent it got the room ice cold and I really appreciate that being a women who suffers from hot flashes I actually slept very comfortably!

Everyday except my last I was provided with fresh towels, empty trash can and a made bed, which I appreciated very much! Nothing really to rave about, "breakfast" was juice/coffee and some oat bars so I wouldn't really classify it as food and especially not a morning meal. Convenient location to where I needed to go and it was the cheapest spot around. I would say I got what I paid for.

The only thing the selling breakfast incl. should be removed. Breakfast was only choice coffee, bottle of orange juice or apple juice and a small snack chocolate bar. That isn't breakfast

The staff was very nice. Firstly, the place is very dated. The check in process is archaic. If you love the color orange this is the place for you. The tv didn’t work in our room so they moved us to another. The room was clean, not perfect but it wasn’t bad. Got two 2x3 pcs. of bar soup and a tiny tube of conditioning shampoo for all your hygiene needs. The bed was very clean and extremely comfortable. That’s the only thing you should expect from this hotel, is a good nights sleep. Quiet at night. This was the kicker for me, they advertised breakfast. I didn’t expect much given the extremely reasonable rate but when went to the lobby the breakfast consisted of, chewy granola bars, juice, and coffee. Not an apple, or banana, or bagel or muffin. The coffee was excellent by the way. It’s a place to get a good nights sleep at a low price. No more no less.

This is a good basic hotel with no extra frills. So if you care to save money and have a clean place to sleep this us it. Out room was updated, but I don't know about other rooms. Be aware they don't provide conditioner for the hair only shampoo and soap. TV was older but it worked. Close to many shops. Keep in mind that the breakfast is only muffin and energy bar and juice and coffee. Close to Chick's Beach. Area generally quite safe.

The room had a face lift and was decently clean. It also had a pungent, foul, horrific smell. It smelled like stale smoke, old food odors soaked into the carpet, and rotting fish. It was so, so bad. Eventually we discovered a major source of the odor was the sink drain. Each time we used the sink, it would immediately start to pool from poor drainage and release a seriously unbearable foul odor. Eventually I realized little wormy larva would come out during these times of pooled water. We spent very little time in the room and eventually started using the tub for hand washing and teeth brushing. It was absolutely disgusting. Room 108. I regret not paying an extra 100 dollars and staying elsewhere. We will never stay here again! If the room didnt smell, and didnt have this plumbing issue, i would have rated this much higher. We got clean towels, new soap, and our trash taken out daily. Great staff. Breakfast offered is bottled juice, individually packaged muffins, and granola bars.

The room was very clean. I was surprised that there was no ice bucket or place to get ice, but other than that it was a nice place for the price.

Crowds of smoking tenants gathered each evening until midnight to talk, laugh and smoke. Room was only average. Ice machine was broken. Breakfast consisted of coffee, muffins and juice. Will not stay here again.

Just writing a note. I want to thank God for blessing me with my beautiful daughter ❤️. She planned this vacation with my grandkids which was beautiful even though the weather was not the greatest. I have many complaints about the hotel. It had issues and we tried to work out but things didn't get resolved. It smelled like cigarettes and shower sounded like it was going to explode, it didn't drain fast enough I personally got a plunger and it didn't help. Room was not cleaned daily and then the sink was leaking. They were going to change the room but it had a running toilet that I informed them about. I was told that someone was going to look into our room but it seemed no one did. Reason I say that is cause nothing was cleaned up. Thursday evening when my daughter went to shower the water was cold and seemed to have less pressure. I gave it some time and it also happened to me. I'm grateful that I've had the privilege to be with my family but very disappointed about our stay here 😞. She works so hard to make precious memories with her family. I truly feel that she deserves a good discount for being patient, humble and dealing with this. I'm not satisfied with my stay here 😞, everyone I came across was kind and friendly but I'm greatly disappointed 😞

I was sleeping in my room and suddenly someone from the hotel property comes into my room without knocking. Thats really embarrassing to go to someone’s room without permission. I complained about the matter but aren’t seems that much cooperative. That’s really terrible. Also the staff’s behavior is also not friendly. They act like we’re nothing just a bunch of commoner and they act like they are the superior cause they owns the hotel.I wont recommend anyone to this hotel. 0 personal rating

Our shower was dirty. We found German cockroaches in our room. They only refunded one of our nights. We moved to a different hotel due to the bugs.

I told two different clerks at two different times that i was checking out a day early and they both said no problem. That morning when i went to check out another clerk wanted to know who i told and that they cant adjust my bill. After everything was said and done she said that they would and charged me anyway. So i called Amex and now calling corporate. Oh and the rooms suck. One the bathroom was not clean so they changed my room and the toilet was not working, i should have left the first day.

The property definitely need upgrade. The bathroom faucet were broken and toilet kept making a loud pitching noise. The breakfast consist of coffe, apple juice and muffing nothing else.

Overall the hotel/room were good, definitely seen/stayed in worse. The beds were professionally made, linen was very clean and made for a comfortable sleep. Bathroom was clean/organized, but NO safety features at all (grab bars in shower or on wall next to low toilet. Difficult for seniors or people with mobility issues. Lot of motorcycles in parking lot and cyclists hanging in the parking lot.

As for the rooms, the one I had was good and clean but the first room my relative had the TV was staticky, the phone didn't work it also smelled bad. They were switched to another room which was better but when they decided to use the microwave it didn't work. Also, I usually buy frozen snacks when traveling, well all the rooms we had the refrigerator freezers were iced over. Finally, this is a non-refundable hotel, I was thinking about staying in the area an extra day and accidently reserved the extra day. Cancelled it immediately and Expedia kept funds.

The only thing is room could use updating the carpet is old n worn. Bathroom has very low toilet seat. But the water pressure was very good. Not a bad stay for the price.

It's always the guy at the front desk. People are giving you their hard earned money and this guy acts a fool every time. I only stay for the convenience of it to where I need to be. Other than that, it's the worst place to spend money on. Especially when the people who run it don't appreciate it.
