Hotel B5 Watsonville, CA - Monterey Area

This hotel was a level up from camping. There were at least 2 cars that appeared as though people were living in them, and they looked sketchy. Heavy footed people were walking upstairs and we heard every step. The AC unit couldn't be plugged in bc the prongs did not line up with the outlet. The toilet seat was broken and kept sliding. Walls were dingy and in the morning, we found a dead cochroach in the corner; I was done. Thank goodness it was only for 1 night/passing through. Can't believe a place like this goes for over $200 a night.

Bed bugs got bites all over

The room next to me was flooding and pouring out over the balcony into the parking lot. 2 hours of listening to them try to shut it off, running up and down the hallway, the 3 fire engines showing up by the end, and the loud metal clanging. I finally got back to sleep at 4 am and then had to wake up at 10 am to get the hell out of this place. I’m so happy to be almost home. The lady who checked me in though was super sweet so she was the only saving grace of all of this.

Staff was good but was just very beat up paid for a room with refrigerator and microwave didn’t get that . Wouldn’t stay there again.

The place was loud, messy, had an uncomfortable bed, the bathroom smelled like pee and there was no microwave or mini frig in the room.

Location not too far from work, has restaurants close by and movie theater next door. Customer service the woman upfront seem mad all the time cant ask for something they end up given attitude, but always on there phone. Need more training on how to help customers they need to remember we pay there check. Guys are way more helpful no issue there. Was given a set price per week by manager but they didnt respect it, mention because every week it changes but this is the first time Ive ever had an issue with a hotel with that. No housekeeping unless you request it but issue is I work nights and they cant do it apparently they leave or dont have a set schedule its what the short stubby lady said. Make sure you book room with fridge and microwave if needed if not you ain't getting it. Overall not very satisfied.

Rooms where dirty

Check-in was smooth, very helpful and friendly staff. Our room was small (we checked into a two double bed) and reeked of old cigarette smoke. We brough our two dogs with us and it was just too cramped for comfortability. After settling in, we noticed floors, headboards, and shower were dirty. After leaving (early), we didn't realize we were sleeping with cockroaches for the quick night we were there. Please stay at your own risk.

I really enjoy the staff here. They are always very helpful . They are top notch. That they no longer have a mini fridge, and coffee maker, and microwave in the rooms.

Room was clean, but staff had to change our room do ro malfunction room key, we end up next to a guest with a dog that was barking all night.

The morning staff was nice. The night staff was at first accommodating but then accused us of lying about seeing bed bugs when we had a picture I was disappointed there was no fridge when there was one in the photo. The worst part is we started to see bed bugs and had to argue with the staff to get a different room. Our neighbors room had a lot more bed bugs as well

Quick and easy check in

Nothing. Everything. The 1st room ac didnt work and had holes punched in the control panel, the wall had stains that looked like feces. There were full hand prints tht looked like a mechanic was holding himself up black like grease. The 2nd room is when I was able to let me 1 year old down to crawl and within minutes the tops of her feet were black as if she'd been outside. I didnt even feel comfortable to stay, we left and we're given no refund. Had to pay for another hotel. I contacted corporate and send photos of my baby's feet from the floors of the room. THE PHOTOS ONLINE ARE NOT WHAT THE ROOM LOOKS LIKE.

Clean room, everything seemed nice and tidy. Only gripe is the lack of toothpaste, soap, shampoo or anything of the sort. However, this is a motel so you have to keep that in mind as well.

Our standard room didn’t have hot water in the shower, no microwave and no refrigerator for two nights as paid for. The room was changed but still non of microwave and Refrigerator.The remote control was missing from 242 and had to request 3 time in 8 hours. We even talked to the owner named Rosay Singh but no resolution. She was rude and didn’t seem to care . I will like to get a full refund as it was the worst experience ever. I have been with Expedia for awhile but didn’t have motel 6 services before.

Nothing. It was loud. People and cars in And out all night. The bathroom was filthy, broken toilet, stains on all the furniture, hair in the sheets. There was a massive gap in the door that looked like someone tried to pry it open at some point. There were greasy handprints on and cigarette burns on the back of the door from some tweaker staring out the peephole. They also put us in the room directly about the office but every other person that checked in got a room on the other side of the hotel and we could tell that place was no where near capacity.

Clean, quiet, facilities around

Price, quietness, staff I’ve been here a few times. The most recent was less than pleasant, the bed was incredibly rough and I found hair and little bits of dirt in the bed. The front door didn’t close all the way and the light shines through everywhere. Also no complimentary shampoo?

Numerous restaurants in walking distance. Shops in short driving distance. Convenient location to access the highway and a good midway point between Santa Cruz and Monterey. The staff is always friendly and have good restaurant suggestions.

Everything was wrong!! When we got there we checked in and everything good, but when we got to the room we found flying cockroaches, spiders and all kind of insects. So we went to get the room changed, so they did changed the room for us but guess what that room had insects too it was gross. We booked 2 rooms and my sister booked one all of the rooms were full of flying cockroaches, spiders and like I said all kind of insects. They never try to make it better if you wonder why well because the whole hotel is that way. All the employees said that the owners knew that all the rooms were invaded by insects and they wouldn't do anything about it. It was the worse experience.

If you had a 0 I totally would give them a 0 it was the worst experience I ever had in any hotels. The hotel is full of every kind of insects COCKROACH, SPIDERS, AND A LOT OF INSECTS. MY DAUGHTER GOT BIT AND THIS IS HOW SHE LOOKS IN THE PICTURES AFTER STAYING THERE. IF YOU LOVE YOUR KIDS DO NOT BOOK THIS NASTY HOTEL. THEY NEED TO CLOSE THIS PLACE DOWN IT WAS GROSS.

My first room had blood strains on the floor and splattered on the bathroom door. I tried to get a second day and they tried to charge me way more and extra deposit.

Staff was very nice! Room was clean but the bed was so squeaky, even if you made the most minimal movement. There was also a pretty sizeable gap between the door and the frame, it looked like the door may have had some water damage because of the bend in the door. Someone outside the room was smoking pot and it was able to enter the room by both the gap in the door and the air conditioning unit. Overall even though the front desk lady was very nice, won’t be staying here again.

Very nice staff

The walls in the restroom need a deep cleaning, especially the narrow wall facing inward. The light over the sink was not working. The gracious clerk immediately changed our room. The walls are very thin could hear people using stairs and all car alarms. Only a small bar of soap and towels available, no frills, morning coffee in the office. The Watsonville location is near many restaurants and Highway #1.

Dumpy

Staff was amazing. My room was simple and clean. My only problem was there wasn’t any hot water for the shower- only tepid water. The TV didn’t work well. Lots of static. The noise level was pretty high outside until late but that isn’t unexpected in less expensive lodging.

Lots of nearby stores and restaurants walking distance

Not only was there no fridge or microwave, the a/c engine was unreadable. While this was the cheapest lodging option in the town i was staying in, the condition of the place & lack of amenities will tell why it is. The garbage can was tiny and had to take the rest of my trash to the dumpster. I couldnt wait to get out of this place. Wouldn't recommend this place even this was the only option in town for lodging.

Room was clean enough. Mainly chose this hotel for proximity to santa cruz and pet friendly. 1st time in Watsonville. Nice little area, lots of shops near by and near fwy.

We were there for three nights at a cost of nearly $700 and (1) the AC did not work and (2) they never cleaned the room!!!!! We asked but every day we came back beds were unmade, no new towels, garbage not removed, etc.

Incredible customer service! Very friendly and outgoing staff. Laundry room on site. Multiple, nicely kept pet areas-probably the best I've seen at any motel.

It was okay. It’s a motel 6 so you get what you pay for, either way it was simply a place to sleep for us and it worked out. I’ve heard pretty bad horror stories from other Motel 6 experiences so this one seemed great in comparison. The receptionist was nice enough to get us into another room because the other room had a broken toilet. I’m happy with the outcome and I’m glad that we didn’t have any crazy poor experiences with the room. Our situation was a little bit unique in the way that the Motel 6 in Salinas tried to scam us by doubling the price for half the amount of time. I’m more thankful that this motel 6 did not do the same to take advantage of travelers during the very busy “Monterey Car Week”.

The rooms were dingy, there was an odor in the room. Abandoned car in the parking lot, other guest having party in the hall way Friday night and people loitering in the parking lot. Road way noise all night.

Staff was very helpful when I noticed AC didn’t work

Wanted a budget motel for a quick stopover on a roadtrip, and ended up being impressed by the overall cleanliness and spaciousness of our room. I should have upgraded to a room with a microwave and fridge for a couple of bucks, but other than that, bed was comfortable, sheets were crisp and clean, we were able to take a bath, and there was a little seating area we were able to eat a quick meal at. The only downside was that the walls were fairly thin, so depending on others you may be in for a loud night. Luckily our neighbors were only loud in the evening and morning and we were able to have a quiet, restful night. Check in/out process was quick and easy.

People walking up and down the hallway talking, knocking on my door looking for some dipshit tweeker twice. After I yelled at them to go away the went next door and woke that guy up and he yelled at them also….. I’ll never use this chain again!

I didn’t like anything, receptionist was rude, apparently couldn’t find my information on their screen & made me pay for another room which was 2x more then what I already had paid for. Put me in a room with several roaches running around will never stay here again

For a Motel 6 you don’t expect much and there are no obvious amenities. However, it wasn’t terrible and was more comfortable than our previous motel and the one staff member that worked that weekend gave excellent service and I always appreciate that. People who were in our group of softball girls did not make it easy for him either as they drank too much and cops came out but he handled it very well.

The staff member working the night shift was awesome. The room was dirty and there looked to be blood on some spots of the walls. Whoever was in the room above was walking around literally all night. I know that isn’t the property or staffs fault, but that sucked. Didn’t get much sleep.

One of the worst motel 6s I have ever stayed in but they do have a large parking lot wich is needed when you have a huge truck and trailer but other than that I felt like I had to sleep with one eye open beds where not that good and there wasn’t even a light in the ceiling when we walked in so we had to make are way to the bathroom or the lights over the bed to see

The next morning, I went to the front desk and showed them the photos. Instead of addressing the issue, they told me to contact Expedia. I’ve been trying to get a refund ever since and still haven’t received it. This was a completely unacceptable experience. Between the bed bugs, lack of sleep, and zero accountability from the staff, I would never stay here again. I hope management takes these concerns seriously — no guest should have to go through this.

So of all the hotels that I have stayed the night in I'm from Utah watsonville is my childhood City I grew up there till I was 9:00 moved to Utah then I moved back to Vacaville when I was 11 or 12 and then I left at Vacaville when I was 16 years old and came back to Utah. The hotel had weird ways of doing things it wasn't full service we had to bring a dirty towels down to the desk so they could go across the hallway to give us new towels there wasn't enough trash cans in the room and they only clean the room out every 3 Days by request from the guests that are staying in the room I had no idea this until I got to the hotel we had to understand how things worked the vending machinemachine took all of her money. And I said there's nothing we can do. I thought there's a couple of breakfast that did not exist there. And we often went to the beach and had to walk on a Sandy floor so it got cleaned out once in 4 days and then we left and couldn't wait to leave the heck out of there cuz we had to bring down our towels every time they were dirty to get some fresh ones.

This hotel was fine for $100 a night, but there were many things that were not great... There were piles of trash in the hallways for the entirety of our stay that were not taken care of. There were holes and stains in the linens, as well as hair in the beds. The floor under the small refrigerator was disgusting. The towels were nice and fluffy, but we were only given two for three people. The door to the room next to us had obviously been smashed in. Etc. But, it was dog friendly and in a convenient location for our trip.

I booked a room for one day with my two kids and my room was on the third floor the room was very dirty the walls and the floors was dirty the heater did not work as well I would never stay at this motel again it's not worth it

The front desk agent was really helpful, kind and tried her best to help me. The problem was that my reservation could not be found on their system. The agent attempted to call expedia for support multiple times and did not receive the support she needed. I waited approximately 45 min to receive my room. Not sure why my reservation was not in your system but this made the experience in enjoyable. Again the front desk agent was great and helpful.

We had a pleasant overnight stay on the way down to Southern California. Room was spacious and clean. The property felt safe with police patrols throughout the evening.

This was a birthday trip for my sister and I. We explored Santa Cruz and the Mystery Spot. We enjoyed our stay. The office staff was vey kind and helpful. 🙂

terrible stay for a trip i was excited about. the tv remote would not work at all, shower was dirty when we entered, one of the beds was still dirty when we pulled the blankets back, about 10 people were in the room right next to us and they were screaming, yelling, and hitting the walls until about 3am. called the front desk at around 11pm and she came up and told them to quiet down but they did not listen to her. ended up falling asleep at about 4am. just wish they really enforced the no more than 4 people per room & cleaned the rooms better then maybe our night would have been better.

Not clean and lots of loud unclean people outside early in the morning. Strange bathroom and no fridge, vending machine did not take in dollars.

Safe enough and quiet area for a two nights stay. Definitely rough around the edges and a little grungy, but I did feel like the room was properly cleaned and sanitized for our stay. Receptionist was kind and seemed like she was doing her best despite challenging facilities. There’s an Applebees and movie theatre right next door. Wouldn’t stay here again if I had a choice but the price was reasonable.

Bed was very comfortable. Pillows were lacking and quite flat, making sleep uncomfortable.

Great place to stay

The floor in the bathroom was stripped down to concrete. The sink had no counter to place the normal stuff you'd bring with you. There were no hooks or hangers, and storage space was non-existent. The walls are paper thin, fully allowing loud music in from an adjoining room. This was my last visit to any Motel 6.

It was ok i didn’t get foot

The room stank, there was vomit drops on the wall in the bathroom, and we had a visitor roach. Absolutely disgusting. Never staying there again.

This hotel is a joke..its way run down and trashy. The woman running this place is snotty. The room was small and run down and the bathroom needed up dating. There was no fridge or microwave or coffee maker. Theres lots of men hanging out around the doors of the rooms and it was very noisy. There was a dog that barked late at night. We could not open our blinds because teenage boys stared in our window.I wont be returning here. Its unsafe and uninviting. For the price its too much for a run down hotel.
