Courtyard by Marriott Wilmington Downtown/Historic District

Staff were super friendly and very helpful. Room was great, even though the shower needed a good scrub and some moulding was missing from around the shower, it was still very nice, the water pressure was FANTASTIC! There is no parking, but there is a valet. Don't really need your car, everything is walkable, or you can catch the Trolley. Can't wait to come back!

Very high on the pricey scale with high cost parking. Staff ignored the Do Not Disturb Sign on my door. There was NO evening food service and the breakfast was poor. The only thing going for it was location.

Hotel is in a great location. Can walk everywhere. Quiet, safe, affordable, cute outdoor pool. We will definitely be back.

We always have the oatmeal and coffee. It was up to expectations. The hotel appeared to have been recently renovated. Everything was new and bright. Very comfortable. The staff were cheerful and helpful. Perfect really. We always stay at Courtyards when we travel. We know what to expect and have never been disappointed. Can't think of anything.

Very short walk to all good local restaurants. Extremely clean and spacious. I stayed in a king suite, big open windows that had a decent view of downtown.

Was there 2 nites. Staff was very nice! But… No housekeeping at all. Needed another towel. Called housekeeping & front desk several times & no one picked up (did get the towels tho, but no beds made, etc). Room HVAC was wonky: either too hot or too cold. TV didn’t work. Bar wasnt open when we wanted to get something. Always seemed like it was closed.

Staff was wonderful. The helpdesk guy and the girl who helped us in the evening were both excellent. We ended up changing our room. The first room didn't meet my expectations but we were accommodated with a different room very clean.

The hotel is located within walking distance to restaurants, coffee shops, bars and the riverwalk. Overall it is a good quiet, and clean hotel. Breakfast options are limited and coffee service is a Starbucks. WiFi did not work when we arrived but it was repaired the next day. Valet is prompt.

Liked the hotel location as it allowed us to walk pretty much everywhere we wanted to go. Also liked the cleanliness of the room and the shared space. Staff was very helpful and professional. Thought the room was a bit over priced and would have liked to see more accommodation for parking instead of $33/night valet (plus tip). Also thought Courtyards had breakfast included so was a little surprised that wasn’t available.

Only negative was the pool was closed during our stay and that was one of the reasons I choose this hotel.

Bathroom in poor repair.

We’ve stayed here before and have loved it in the past but this time everything looked dirty and grimy. To the floors in the lobby, the food particles in the elevator, the nasty stained sofa in the room, the smell in the room, to the grimy floor of the bathroom. Everything was gross. The parking situation is a little bit of a pain as well. But the location is great! The bed was comfortable and the Starbucks downstairs was very nice. We did stay at the Embassy Suites, which is a couple blocks away and they offer free breakfast and nightly drinks. Their facility was much cleaner and more comfortable so we will stick with them moving forward.

I did not get information from the hotel regarding parking until I went to check in. I do not like having to use my card to get in and out of the parking lot. Poor instruction for getting out, causing long line of cars due to drivers trying to figure out how they can get out.

Despite my reservation clearly stating that breakfast was included for all guests, I was told at the hotel that they could only provide two breakfast coupons per room—as if they were doing me a favor. I explained that we had paid for breakfast for eight guests, not just four. I contacted Expedia, who spoke directly with the hotel and confirmed that breakfast was indeed included for everyone in our party. Still, the hotel refused to honor this. If your hotel chooses to partner with Expedia or any third-party booking platform, then you should honor the terms guests book under. Otherwise, don’t allow your rooms to be listed. It’s unfair to penalize customers for booking through a platform you work with. I expect honesty and transparency when booking a hotel. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone who values fair treatment and clear communication

The room was good, location is perfect. But. Pool is yoo small and they didn't replace fresh towels often so it was usually non towels. Gym is very very basic. No water in the room for all 3 nights at all. No room cleaning, they didn't clean, didn't take our trash for 3 nights/4 days... overall they say was good, but prise is too much for that service

Nice facility, and friendly staff. Parking is not free, but that is to be expected in a downtown area. The "breakfast buffet" is not a buffet but it is well worth the price. Very fairly priced overall.

No hot water. First room assigned was under renovations. At 6pm on Easter Sunday evening there was “construction drilling” in s room(s) adjacent to ours.

Overall the property is nice. The room had a couple of cosmetic flaws but was clean. Helpful staff.

Be aware. An unannounced $26/day parking fee will be charged to your account. Parking service is so-so. We had one who was excellent, others were disappointing. The concierge manager was defensive & unpleasant.

Our room in this hotel was a little worn looking...the bathroom in particular. Nice area of the city, but quite a few homeless people and addicts roaming around.

My stay was comfortable and the staff was super friendly. The elevators stopped working and my room was on the 6th floor, which was a bummer. The shower pressure in the bathroom was very weak (rm 618). This should be looked at by maintenance. If it wasn’t for that my rating would be excellent.

They refused to allow me to stay due to my service animals were for emotional support.

Everything was great until we got ready to leave. I asked the clerk if I could pull up and get my things and my girls through the valet parking and he said yes. Well the guy down was running his mouth to another lady about us and it upset me. I just wanted to say that. Overall everything else was great!

Great stay, clean place, excellent staff, easy to use valet. In the heart of the city so you’re close to everything. Overall no issues with this hotel, it actually exceeded our expectations.

The shower stall could have used some bleach for the mildew. Otherwise a good stay.

Even though they had internet problems and couldn’t issue a key to the room, staff was great 😊. Very clean and convenient.

The room had used dental floss, a used toothpick and dirty bandage on the floor. The refrigerator was not working. There were 4 adults in the room and we only had 2 bath towels and face clothes. Beds were lumpy and uncomfortable. I would not recommend. One thing that was good was the amazing gentleman at the front desk. He went above and beyond to help us.

Very limited staff. Very long wait times for both check in and check out. Heard customers complain of numerous room issues. Slow breakfast receipt. Check in and out lady was very patient and pleasant under the stress! Deserves a HUGE raise!!!!! Gave each customer through personal service despite the long lines. She deserves an award for 2024! Seriously! Location was superb! Reasonably priced. Overall service needs work.

Located in a convenient location. Staff was nice. Rooms could use some attention to deep cleaning and repair. Hallways were noisy all night as well as noise from the establishments outside until about 3am.

My stay at the hotel was very short, however it was very pleasant. Due to my late arrival my room was a handicapped equipped room. The room was clean however the bathroom needs to be extra disinfected as there was evidence of mold. I will stay there again!

We arrived prior to normal check-in time and were allowed early check-in. Hotel was clean and well-staffed with friendly people. We were given a room with a view of air conditioning units on the roof of another building. We were hoping for a downtown view. Disappointing, but we did not complain. The in-hotel bistro did not operate on 4 of our 5 day stay. Was told that no staff was available to operate the bistro. Disappointing. Hotel is located in the historic District. Very convenient to downtown area. I would definitely stay in this hotel again, but I would request a room with a view. Beds were comfortable and bathroom was nice. Great shower, etc.

The room wasn't cleaned. Trash not removed, and coffee not restocked. Plus ice machine wasn't working on my floor. When I mentioned this at check-out, I was told Marriott only cleans rooms every THREE days and if I want a "refresh", I have to ask for it. At these prices, the least they should do is empty the trash and restock used product.

Never again

The staff was very polite and helpful during the check- in and check- out process. Moreover, they answered our questions about the area and provided insightful tips. However, our room smelled very musty. Furthermore, the bathroom had a sulfuric, pungent odor(yes, before we used it!), and the toilet base was leaking a bit, as we noticed on our second night. We did not report these issues until check-out, as we figured it was easier to deal with the issues than have to either relocate our belongings or invite a maintenance person into our space to fix the issues. To be fair, when I did report these issues at check-out time, the staff member was extremely apologetic and offered us free coffee and breakfast in an attempt to do right by us. Unfortunately, we were on a time schedule and had to leave, but we thoroughly appreciated the gracious gesture.
