Guests consistently express satisfaction with the historic charm and unique character of the hotel, praising the spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and friendly staff. The complimentary wine and cheese, milk and cookies, and breakfast are frequently mentioned as highlights. However, some guests have noted issues with temperature control in the rooms, noise from neighboring rooms or outside, and outdated bathrooms.

The room size, decor, breakfast, staff, parking, location, amenities, excellent! I was scouting for a location to bring a group for a retreat I'm planning and it fits in nicely with my needs. The breakfast is so great, and the happy hour and milk and cookies, although not my bag, sure are nice things to advertise for retreat guests - having everything you might want is nice. The patio and outdoor spaces, proximity to restaurants and Old Salem and even downtown is great. it's easy to find and get to from the highway and you don't have to deal with downtown traffic. The historical context and motif is a plus. The staff were all unfailingly full of on-point Southern hospitality without being smarmy or inauthentic. Kudos to the management! The bed was comfortable but slightly lumpy. I can tolerate this but for my retreat I'd love to be able to tell my clients that the beds are extraordinarily comfortable. The coffee maker and offerings were wonderful, but I was there for 3 nights and the supplies were not replenished, though the room was cleaned daily. I didn't see a safe - that might be nice for longer-term stays so people can stow their laptop or jewelry, etc. The towels are wonderful but I always notice the scent of bleach and bleached towels leach moisture from your skin. As a healer, I want my clients to feel very nourished and soft, natural fragrance towels are preferred. None of these are deal breakers, though.

Been in about six different rooms here and never had that problem before. Bacon is way yo thin. Staff is great, but need new staff cat,

The room was very clean and comfortable . Parking was great as was the Morning breakfast. We also enjoyed the wine and cheese hour.
- 5/5
Good sized room and good breakfast and courtyard
- 5/5
Renovated old brick downtown building. Easy stroll to Old Salem. Great breakfast.
- 3/5
The hotel was not wheelchair/walker friendly. We had difficulty getting to the breakfast area. When we parked at the main entrance, there were lots of steps and no ramps. We had a room with a king-sized bed for two people. The room had one small table and only one chair, which was a straight-backed wooden chair that was not very comfortable. We had to lay on the bed to watch TV, which put us 20 feet from the screen. The room needed two padded, comfortable chairs.
- 5/5
Great hotel from the service to the location. I highly recommend. We only stayed one night but the hotel is great. The hotel offered free parking, breakfast, a drink of choice from 5 p to7p and Cookies and milk at 9 p. I highly recommend!

This inn is so interesting! Simply beautiful rooms that were pristinely clean. We loved the wine and cheese hour as well as the cookies and milk for the kids. Would absolutely stay here again! Our TV was small and we couldn’t watch Netflix. That’s not why we were there though, so it wasn’t a big deal for us personally.

Very unique property, clean and modern. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The room could have been darker in the morning, and the bed squeaked a little too much!

Love love love this historic inn

LOVE love all the charming details of this repurposed old brick building from the beautiful courtyard to the lovely dining area. Staff is helpful. Would definitely stay here again. Nice restaurants nearby. Being an old building, there are some quirks- but nothing that impacted our stay.

The staff was the best!! So helpful, polite and accommodated when ever asked.
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable, quiet, convenient.
- 5/5
The staff is exceptionally friendly and the breakfast, happy hour wine and evening cookies will make a return trip with planning.
- 4/5
Very good
- 5/5
The staff was truly accommodating- we were there for our 50th reunion. Stopped by a bit before happy hour and the staff actually got us a bottle of wine for our happy hour celebration (4 of us staying there), even though they were not open just yet. The rooms were great, parking was good, even though there was a wedding party there. Also one of the workers apparently does water colors, so I took one home as a souvenir, and it was lovely.
- 5/5
Style of room. Simple food. Interesting decor. Paid too much through Hotels.com
- 5/5
The breakfast was perfect. So many options. Delicious food and great coffee. Staff was exceptional. We loved the outside grounds and the historical significance of the hotel. Would definitely stay again. Great location as well.
- 5/5
Not my 1st stay at this adorable and historical inn. Everything is quaint and authentic. Some minor improvements can be seen needed in different rooms. Especially in the bathrooms. The best free breakfast you’ll get anywhere! Also walking distance to multiple delicious restaurants.
- 5/5
Parking was easy and the grounds are beautiful and we had a nice restful stay. Quiet. Clean.
- 5/5
We spent one night at the Brookstown Inn while visiting the Old Salem Village. The history of the building and the location is what drew us to the Inn. Parking was super easy! Our corner room was HUGE and very comfortable! A coffee table and/or a small dining table would be nice (there's plenty of room). The coffee maker wasn't plugged in & wouldn't reach down to the outlet...so, I had to relocate it to the desk to plug it in. Otherwise the room was great! The evening complimentary wine/beer & cheese in the Lounge was a real treat! Excellent bartender, too. We were able to easily walk across the street to enjoy a lovely Italian dinner and then snack on the complimentary fresh-baked cookies at the Inn. We will be back if ever in Winston-Salem again!
- 1/5
wait 10mins to get hot water to have a shower
- 5/5
One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in.
- 5/5
Parking was free and convenient. We enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
This hotel is one of my all time favorites! Helpful and friendly staff, beautiful property, great location, clean. My only suggestion is to add recycling.
- 5/5
I love everything about this hotel. Great location
- 5/5
So much more than a hotel stay- it’s an experience. An Easter tradition for me
- 5/5
Great place to stay! Charming, not a cookie cutter hotel. We love the complimentary wine and cookies and milk. Comfortable and great staff.
- 5/5
It’s a beautiful place and everything on the property including the rooms are unique. They have nice amenities and the breakfast is a decent. I’ve never been overly impressed with a hotel breakfast anywhere but it’s not disappointing. I think the beds are very comfortable and the walls are nice and thick so you don’t deal with a lot of outside noise.
- 5/5
Very clean and nicely maintained. Very nice staff.
- 5/5
We had a very nice time at the Brookstown Inn. Very well done historical building. Room was clean and inviting.
- 5/5
Yes
- 3/5
The room was mostly clean, but there were cobwebs in the windows and the bathroom didn't have a place on the wall of the shower to put soap.
- 5/5
Great experience!
- 5/5
Clean room with lots of character. Nice staff. Great breakfast and also a free drink and happy hour and very good macadamia nut cookies for a nighttime snack. Good restaurants within walking distance.
- 5/5
Perfect location that was next to our destinations but in a quiet and quaint location, which was perfect for us. We REALLY enjoyed our time, the cool history and aesthetics of the Brookstown Inn, and the staff were so welcoming. Planning a return in September!
- 5/5
Lovely hotel. Great location
- 5/5
The guy at the front desk was super nice and helpful
- 3/5
The entire hotel, especially the rooms, were old and tired. Mismatched pieces of second-hand looking furniture where drawers stuck when attempting to use, night table blocked by a huge 8 inch wide beam, etc. Water in the bath took over 5 minutes to get slightly hot.
- 5/5
Such a great place to stay. Friendly, helpful staff. Very thoughtful amenities. Very clean. I would stay here every time I am in WS.
- 5/5
Great visit. The staff was very helpful. Cleanliness was great. Would definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
“Honestly, everything stood out — the room was clean, the staff was great, and the amenities were top-notch.”
- 5/5
I love the expose and spacious room layout. I must say that the cleanliness of the room was noticeable. The bathroom could be a little modernized however the overall experience was very good.
- 4/5
We stayed in two rooms - one outdated but clean, a bit cold but had a space heater. The second very nice and newly redone- depends room to room what you will get. Staff were amazing and friendly very accommodating.
- 5/5
Beautiful old converted mill. Good location. Room was great. Clean and comfortable. Staff was very polite. The breakfast was well above the normal. This was our second stay and it doesn't disappoint
- 5/5
The staff
- 5/5
Staff was great Wine bar was like an old speakeasy
- 5/5
The negatives were minor - the room was huge with a high vaulted ceiling which was great but there was only one small vent to heat the room and overnight the temp never got above 68 even though it was set to 72… it was 25 outside with snow and ice though so it could have just been that the frigid temps were too much for the heating system. The other negative is just a pet peeve of mine. When I get a room for 3, I expect at least 3 washcloths and 3 towels. Why hotels want to provide only two sets annoys me. Additional towels came quickly though which was good. This will be one of our frequent stops when traveling WS.
- 5/5
Courteous staff, wine and cheese, milk and cookies and an adorable room…would stay again in a heartbeat!
- 5/5
This property is old, historic, that means Character!!
- 5/5
This place is amazing, originally built on 1837
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly and the place is so cute and warm.
- 5/5
I’ve stayed here before and while it’s an older hotel, it’s very comfortable and charming. Parking is easy and free, close to a few restaurants, and it’s very quiet. Breakfast is wonderful. They also do an evening happy hour.
- 5/5
We loved everything about our stay… We only stayed one night but would absolutely go back. It’s in a perfect part of town. It’s an old historic block. The rooms are perfectly adequate. The breakfast was magnificent, happy hour that’s free. Walkable to cool restaurants. Take time to read about the place. It’s charm and coziness is it’s charm and coziness! Highly recommend staff is super nice and knowledgeable.
- 5/5
Amazing room and atmosphere, beautiful hotel and amenities!!!
- 5/5
This is my second time staying, and I had a wonderful time. I even locked myself out of my room and they were really sweet to give me an extra key to help me get back in. I love this place. I love just everything about it. It was great and I can’t wait to stay here again in the future.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, peaceful location, great breakfast and appreciated the all day tea and coffee service. Highly recommend.
- 5/5
It’s always top notch
- 5/5
Large clean rooms and bathrooms. Friendly, helpful staff. Enjoyed wine and cheese bar especially bartender Misty’s polite demeanor.
- 5/5
Always a great stay. Breakfast the best. The room was a little chilly at first but other than that a great stay as always.
- 5/5
Pretty and comfy
- 5/5
Amazing historic hotel
- 4/5
Shower was not hot. Some lights were not functional. Staff was a bit aloof.
- 5/5
It is a naval concept to take an old Cotton Mill in converted into a hotel period interesting architecture. Very old bricks. The old places is really interesting
- 5/5
Clean room, awesome staff, the wine and cheese and breakfast in the morning are a real plus!!!
- 4/5
Well decorated for Christmas, large room, friendly checkin.
- 5/5
Yes & Yes ...We will book again next year!
- 5/5
Staff was great! Very helpful. Love the charm of this inn! Great spot!
- 5/5
The house manager, Aaron, was exceptional. Our room had a heating issue and we were able to get another room with no problems. He was very accommodating and kind, going out of his way to help us out.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, beautiful atmosphere, great amenities, good location.
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
Fabulous Inn converted from an 1837 cotton mill. Clean, great location, great amenities, and excellent service. Highly recommend!
- 5/5
The room was wonderful, space ro spreadout and felt more "fancy" with the high ceilings. My one con is i had a hard time finding charging outlets, i had to unplug some of the lamps. Thats it!
- 5/5
Our stay was fantastic! We really love how it’s set up at Christmas time! The staff are super friendly, amenities were great and it’s just a super cozy and convenient spot. Our room was a little noisy and some gym equipment didn’t work, but overall it was a great stay and we will definitely be back!
- 2/5
The heating wasn't working, hot water ran out after 3 minutes, I took cold showers in a cold room, no bathroom heat whatsoever. Nice place, but the comfort was not.
- 5/5
Breakfast was great! A big variety! Had all the food groups covered! The staff and atmosphere was wonderful! One of the breakfast attendants has been there 15 years and she is exceptional! Thanks for a great stay!
- 5/5
Wonderful visit! Beautiful hotel and centrally located to visit old Salem and downtown Winston Salem.
- 5/5
All Good
- 5/5
Absolutely awesome place to stay. A step back in time!
- 5/5
Room: clean, huge room, very comfy bed; keurig coffee & complimentary bottles of water, wonderful toiletries Amenities: Wine happy hour, cookies and milk at bedtime and full hot breakfast all in a charming large dining area. Actual plates, coffee mugs and slice at breakfast Location: walkable to many wonderful shops and restaurants
- 5/5
The guest experience was great! We will definitely be back.
- 5/5
Very nice place
- 5/5
Very nice hotel, with a good breakfast
- 5/5
Brookstown Inn is a gem located in the historic downtown Winston Salem. The staff service is top- notched. We really enjoyed the extra things that they provided for guests to make their stay memorable, like the nightly cookies and warm milk and the cheese and wine experience. We will definitely be staying here again the next time we’re back in town. Merry Christmas everyone!
- 5/5
The building is beautiful outside!! Our room was huge. TV had the more channels than most hotels have available. Really enjoyed our complementary beer/wine and cheese. Would recommend to anyone that doesn’t have to have everything modern. Our room was just over the “breakfast room” so we could hear them downstairs talking but it wasn’t a nuisance. Room was still very warm even though it’s was an old building and in the teens outside. Very similar to a bed and breakfast but on a larger scale.
- 5/5
Everything was great. Staff was great, room very clean, beds comfortable and clean, lots of charm and felt almost like home. The breakfast is pretty awesome and the free milk and cookies in the evening hit the spot each night. It will be my go to for when staying in Winston-Salem from now on
- 5/5
Friendly front desk staff.
- 5/5
The room was very large and clean. We enjoyed the staff, breakfast and treats in the evening. We loved the Christmas decorations. The only negative was the time it took for the water in the sink to get warm. Not much to complain about.
- 2/5
Changed our accommodation without our consent
- 5/5
The entire Inn was amazing. The architecture is beautiful. Our room was one of a kind. There was complimentary wine/beer and cheese and crackers in the pub. Also cookies and milk. Breakfast was good. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
Love yhus place!
- 5/5
This place was fabulous. It was an experience with their wine and cheese hours. Then milk and cookies. And the breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend this hotel. It was well renovated while preserving the historic building.
- 1/5
We were on the third floor. We heard everything the people said on the fourth floor. Every step they took sounded like they were walking in our room. You definitely need some insulation between the two floors. Also, the TV wouldn’t work. We finally got the Internet connected to the TV with help from the staff. But then nothing would play. No apps whatsoever would connect. Even the free stations would not play.
- 5/5
Anyway, you look at it. It was wonderful from checking in to checkout.
- 3/5
2. Abysmal water pressure in bathroom. 3. Room, while large, was pretty bare and undecorated. Maybe the “industrial look” was intended, but it made the room uninviting. 4. Internet was fine, desk staff was pleasant, breakfast was okay but uninspired.
- 5/5
Cozy warm and friendly. Nice breakfast.
- 5/5
Great place and people. Good vibe and excellent service
- 5/5
The rooms are very spacious, the building is beautifully preserved, has a very quaint bar, evening cookies and milk in the sitting room and a great location. Wish rooms had better lighting and drapes on the windows.
- 5/5
Great rooms, really unique experience. Plan to stay there again when we’re in the area, highly recommended
- 5/5
Room was very clean, staff was super nice. Breakfast and wine and cheese social were nice perks. Parking was easy and great location!
- 5/5
We come once a year and it's fabulous
- 5/5
Beuaitful Inn! The rooms are so cute and very well kept. Big parking lot. Quiet area. So micj history im the Inn. Loved the breakfastz wine and cheese, and cookies and milk daily!
- 5/5
Clean, walkable to many places, good breakfast buffet and a happy hour for a glass of wine and cheese. Staff was courteous.
- 5/5
Good breakfast! Enjoyed the cookies and milk too!
- 3/5
Room this time in the other wing was not comfortable. Water from pipes overhead, noisy all night.
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable, roomy, high ceilings, great bathroom appointments, microwave & mini-frig in room. Staff were friendly & helpful. Breakfast (free) was very good.
- 5/5
Only cons....couldnt find an open table to eat my breakfast, and the room a bit cold. So get to brealfast early and ask for an extra blanket. 😆 I would definitely stay here again!!
- 5/5
Big room, comfy bed, good breakfast and friendly staff!
- 5/5
One of the nicest hotels, great spot - great people.
- 5/5
We just needed a place to break the drive from Quakertown PA to Central Florida. We came across this hotel by chance and we were not disappointed. It's obviously historic, so not as 'perfect' as some fancier hotels but other than that it was perfect. The Italian Restaurant across the road was wonderful and great value for money. We intend to return and explore the area more.
- 5/5
Nice, large, spacious room
- 5/5
Great place so pretty and good staff
- 5/5
They offer so many little touches that make it feel like home.
- 5/5
Excellent breakfast and evening cookies. Large rooms make this a family haven.
- 5/5
Loved the Historical area
- 3/5
We've stayed at this property many, many times over several decades and this is the second time this year that we slept poorly due to the cold room temperature. At a point I got up put an additional blanket and quilt on the bed that were available in the room, but they smelled moldy and we were still cold. I got up later and put the bath towels over those for additional insulation and we were at last comfortable, but only temperature-wise.
- 5/5
Clean room, hospitable staff, wonderful old traditional decor.
- 5/5
It was more than we thougt, absolutely beautiful. The rooms were clean, the staff was great
- 5/5
Beautiful historical mill converted to a hotel. Loved the brick walls...perfect hot breakfast choices.. will book it again when in Winston Salem
- 5/5
Quiet and everyone very respectful
- 5/5
Interesting room. Helpful staff
- 5/5
Very cute and charming hotel with great historical aspects. Staff was very welcoming, especially Shawnda during the wine and cheese. She was so personable and engaging, we had a great conversation with her. We will definitely stay here and again and recommend to others.
- 5/5
Beautifully repurposed old cotton mill. Loaded with charm. Fabulous location. Loved the courtyard.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel. Great breakfast although 7am start for businesses travelers is a bit late. Toilet in my room ran every 40 seconds so during the night I had to keep the bathroom door closed. Air-conditioning is a little loud but ok. Well kept hotel especially considering it's age. Would stay again.
- 3/5
Staff was very helpful and the property was nice.
- 5/5
Great place to stay, I would stay here again!!
- 5/5
Loved the large rooms and all the hospitality and history of the place.
- 5/5
Excellent breakfast, wonderfully clean space and very helpful staff
- 4/5
Breakfast was tasty, not healthy
- 5/5
The staff is so professional and helpful! Very interesting building. The outside seating area is very pretty in the evening.
- 5/5
The hotel was excellent! It was clean, the staff was wonderful, and it was in a good location.
- 5/5
Staff is amazing, little breakfast area feels like a trip back in time. Hotel is quiet.
- 5/5
Quiet, nice
- 5/5
Everything
- 5/5
The check in staff were exceptional. They were helpful, professional, friendly. They set the tone for the rest of the stay.
- 5/5
A well crafted hotel in a unique old mill building. We loved it and it was within walking distance to the Old Salem historical district.
- 4/5
Loved the old building and history behind it. Great restaurant walkable.
- 5/5
The room was spacious with everything you need for an overnight stay. The building is historic and has been preserved beautifully. The location and self parking very convenient.
- 5/5
Intimate setting
- 3/5
No hot water! Cold shower, told clerk at checkout about it. Said she was sorry
- 4/5
I would have given it 5 stars - I took off 1 because the phones didn't work in the room, the toilet wouldn't flush - so I had to manually flush it - and I wish it had better sound proofing as there was a very unhappy child nearby. BUT, none of those things ruined my trip - which had I stayed in a regular hotel it would have. It really is a charming place to stay and I would definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
Great staff. Beautiful facility, large room and bathroom, comfortable bed, very walkable area. Will stay again.
- 1/5
Staff lovely and location good. However rooms need major renovations. Dingy furniture, old carpet and musty smell throughout. Windows don’t open. Couldn’t even last there a night and staff was nice enough to let us out of our reservation and Expedia refunded us because that. Grateful to staff but can’t recommend.
- 5/5
This historic hotel was charming and welcoming. The breakfast was great!
- 5/5
Always enjoy staying at the lovely Brookstown Inn!
- 5/5

- 4/5
Nice place. Good amenities. Wine and cheese in the afternoon and cookies and milk at night. Lovely decor and comfortable room.
- 5/5
There was nothing not to like. From the bartender to the lady on from midnight to 7 AM on Sunday night at front Desk their personalities are smile. They're welcomeness. You need more people like that in your business with a smile & there personality would be great. Look forward to staying in the future.
- 4/5
loved the room and property
- 5/5
We found this to be a very beautiful, unique and historic hotel. Staff was friendly and professional. Rooms were large and comfortably furnished. Very substantial breakfast was included in a beautifully appointed dining room reminiscent of a European manor. Would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Love this place . Old charm. Room is large
- 5/5
Love the vibe and large rooms with exposed brick and wood beams ( it is a former mill). They have lots of free parking and nightly cookies and milk. It is the only place I stay when i visit Winston-Salem. It is also located next to the tourist area called Old Salem. Housekeeping does a great job. The front desk staff are ok but could be a bit more welcoming. They are pleasant enough but it is the south and i have had much warmer greetings at other properties.
- 5/5
We wished the lovely bar downstairs stayed open a bit longer. The bartender was VERY nice and the ambiance was perfect. We wish we could have had a reason to patronize the place later in the evening.
- 5/5
You must like eclectic surroundings and antique furniture and brick on brick. Fun, quaint, super service. Love, love, love this place. The little details. Amazing! Please don't change a thing!!!
- 5/5
Apply for my favorite place to stay in Winston-Salem. They didn’t have my king room available but gave me an upgrade so that I can check in early for a business meeting. So close to everything and such a cool vibe and I always stay here.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
And will be back!
- 5/5
Great place to stay and relax.
- 5/5
Anniversary dinner at DiLisio’s so we decided to stay at the Brookstown Hotel. Old world charm. Property used to be a cotton mill & it retains the look & feel of over 100 years ago. Lovely courtyard with plenty of tables to relax.
- 5/5
Beautiful one of a kind historic landmark.
- 4/5
The outdoor patio area is so cute and romantic. It is very tastefully done. The brickwork inside the rooms is a wonderful touch, making it more authentic. It is very close to old Salem.
- 5/5
Beautifully appointed Inn. Great location, amazing rooms and in the heart of Old Salem.
- 4/5
Have no complaints.
- 4/5
Very charming.
- 5/5
Only issue was it was a little noisy, but it was a Saturday night after all :-) We will be booking again very soon! Thanks!
- 5/5
Beautiful historical building! Very well appointed! My only suggestion was that the bathroom had no storage area. But the rooms were gorgeous, comfortable and very quiet!
- 5/5
The room was as pictured and adorable. We’ll definitely make this a regular stop on our way to visit our daughter at college.
- 5/5
I liked everything about this hotel and staff! This is now my "go to" hotel whenever i am in winston salem. Customer service is above and beyond any hotel or any industry to be honest. Every employee that I encountered, gave a 5 star customer service experience. Thank you all!!!!
- 5/5
The Brookstown Inn is our favorite place to stay when visiting Winston Salem. We have stayed multiple times and it’s always great! The front desk staff are friendly and helpful and make you feel welcome. The historical feel of the property is nice and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The hotel has a great breakfast, wine and cheese hour and milk and cookies at night. We always enjoy our stay here!
- 5/5
a wonderful stay in a historic building
- 5/5
Clean and neat property. Very courteous staff.
- 4/5
Unique boutique hotel. Room is huge with very comfortable bed. Really like the wine and cheese as well as the cookies at bedtime. I would recommend that they upgrade their window treatments as they do not prevent light from coming in off the patio.
- 5/5
I loved how they preserved the history of the hotel it was so nice!
- 5/5
Beautiful place to stay . Love historic places so amazing. Loved our room . Not walkable to the breweries and restaurants. ( 26 + minutes but parking garages downtown or taking a Uber is also a great idea ) I’d definitely stay her again even with it be alittle further out then I’d hoped for , A must stay !!!!!
- 5/5
The service is excellent. We loved the breakfasts, wine and cheese, and milk and cookies. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the area was good for walking.
- 2/5
My room had terrible air quality. No proper air conditioning. There was/is a portable box fan inscribed with a foul word in the room. (We took pictures) I did not sleep the first night. Even at night it was over 80 in the room. (We took pictures of thermostst) (I should have been comped!) second night my partner complained, it was unbearable, we were moved to another room that was fine! They knew they put me in an awful room and had a decent room sitting empty. It made me even more upset. This stay made me sick! ! Period! And no… there was no milk with the “cookies and milk” parking was good. Beautiful location.

I've stayed here multiple times and have been pleased with everything each time. This time, though, there was considerable noise between 10 and 11 p.m. - sounded like there was a party going on in the outside patio area. (I was in room 102 and it was a Tuesday night.)

Nearby restaurant were delicious. Very comfortable and hospitable. Can be difficult to walk if you need accessibility, there are no ramps only stairs.

Great place to stay. Friendly, helpful staff, good food, and lovely rooms

the location is great and free parking. The old building is neat too, but the air conditioning in inadequate. The free breakfast was not well organized, and the room was terribly hot. Our key did not work the second day we stayed and front desk seemed not too sure of themselves about it.

The Brookstown Inn is very cute and worth a stay, even if it’s just a weekend getaway. It is within reasonable walking distance of Old Salem and Downtown Winston.

We stay here when travel through the area. Clean, comfortable great service and a cool historic building. Breakfast is above average for a free hotel breakfast.

We were able to walk to Old Salem for a great adventure. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Rooms were spacious furniture was dated. Great bathroom that had recently been redone. Hallways were in need of refurbishing. Breakfast area was crowded laid out poorly and hot. More thought into seating and perhaps providing a host to control flow was needed.

We always love to stay here. It is so charming.

Absolutely stunning.

This property is beautiful. Old mill brick walls. Lower bathtubs. It’s clean. Front desk is awesome. Have you a cocktail and listen to some blues and jazz. Sit out side in the courtyard. No close restaurants.

The inn is in walking distance to the historic district. Room was unique and very clean. I recommend visiting Winston-Salem! It’s a beautiful town.

Enjoyed the charm of this historical building! Our room was unique and very large! Especially enjoyed the complimentary wine, cheese and crackers in the evening. And the complimentary cookies and milk before bed along with the nice breakfast in the morning! We walked across the street to the Italian restaurant and had the most incredible meal! We would definitely stay here again if we are ever in the area!

OMG where to begin. I’ve always wanted to stay here and I’m glad I did. It was beautiful and it was super close for everything I needed. I’ll definitely be back.

Everything was fantastic. From the moment we checked in we were welcomed with open arms by the staff. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was super friendly and super helpful. The cookies and milk in the evening was phenomenal. The cookies were always fresh baked and smelled amazing. Our favorite part was Sally the hotel kitty. She was an absolute sweetheart. We will definitely stay here in the future.

What a surprising gem! This was not only extremely comfortable and well cared for property, but very large rooms with safe and easy walk down to a historic district. Nice complete breakfast too. I would recommend moving towards dispensable shampoo etc to be fully in line with eco-friendliness.

Everything was easy to get to. Only negative is lack of ice

Beautiful property! Convenient parking (although a ramp would be helpful for luggage transport). Breakfast was a disappointment - not even as good or as varied as a cheaper hotel chain. I expected much better. Beds and pillows were just OK. Bathroom needs a facelift. I will most likely not stay here again.

Loved getting to meet and spend time with Sally the hotel cat. The room was huge with lots of natural light. Cookies and milk at night, and a really nice complimentary breakfast bar in the morning were great added amenities.

This propert was very unique with its historical building and placement in the beautiful city of Winston-Salem. The property was clean, inviting, and the extra amenities such as the wine and cheese hour and southern breakfast were fantastic touches. The walking paths were right around the corner and just a few blocks to get out of the historical district.

Nice place. Not only had complimentary breakfast, but had wine and cheese in the afternoon as well as cookies and milk in the evening. A very friendly place to stay.

I’ve been staying at the Brookstown Inn since the late 1980’s. It’s one of the best B&B around.
