It was clean. Don’t expect much maid service but it was in a great location and safe.
- 5/5
Very nice and clean. Felt safe
- 5/5
Clean and convenient
- 5/5
This motel is great. Clean, quiet and the beds are comfortable. I give this place an excellent place to stay.
- 5/5
Parking was spacious. All the Yorktown attractions were very close. The staff were attentive .
- 5/5
Enjoyed my stay! Very clean rooms.
- 5/5
I enjoyed my stay. I was in a bind and usually only stay at a nationally known hotel chain. I took a chance and was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were very clean and the owner was very nice. I will return again.
- 5/5
Clean room with comfortable beds and pillows for a decent price. Friendly staff.
- 3/5
Crown Inn was a nice low budget hotel. The room was clean and attractive, nice bathroom. It was quiet and in a good area, I felt safe there. The gentleman that checked us in was polite and efficient. And the price was reasonable.
- 5/5
The room was very clean and comfortable and the front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating. Easy Parking as well..
- 4/5
clean room, nice bed
- 4/5
clean room good bed
- 2/5
There were multiple stains in the room’s floor, mold in the corner of the bathtub, no soap or tissues in the bathroom (I was able to ask for soap and they gave me 2 bars) and it was supposed to be a non-smoking room. While it didn’t smell like someone had directly smoked in the room, I could smell it in the room. I asked if the room beside mine (I was in 111) was a smoking room and was told yes. Must be coming in through the vents. Had to ask for WiFi and was given a code, and checkout was simply giving back the key. Nothing formal. Pretty unpleasant and disappointing stay, but I just needed a place to sleep for the night. Would definitely advise steering clear of The Crown Inn.
- 4/5
Rooms are basic but clean. Working A/C, and the ladies and the male working late night were very nice.
- 4/5
Rooms were clean. Showers hot. Nice to stay for 2 days. Quiet. Rooms need updating.
- 4/5
Clean room, smelled great, clean sheets and towels. Big room. Hot shower. No complaints, ended up staying 2 nights instead of 1. Would recommend.
- 5/5
Air conditioning was perfect very clean and friendly
- 4/5
Room was clean. Staff was nice. Bed was nice and firm. Older place but well maintained.
- 1/5
Would not process my per diem credit card. Poked down the street at red roof inn on app no problem
- 3/5
It's an older Motel not a hotel. There was a dirty diaper on the sidewalk when we arrived. The front desk man was very nice. The room was clean when we got there but bring your own toiletries. There were two of the smallest bars of soap in the room that are good for one use only before breaking in half. You only get two towels and 2 wash clothes, no hand towels. They don't make the beds. We were given no extra toilet paper. It is close to a main highway with alot of restaurants. It served our needs, and was inexpensive, but we wouldn't stay there again.
- 4/5
Comfortable stay. No complimentary shampoo and conditioner, but most people bring their own anyway.
- 5/5
Room was clean and bed comfortable. The place looked fresh, appeared recently redone. Heads up: a damage deposit of $50 in cash is required, credit card not accepted for damage deposit. So, if you don’t have $50 in cash, you will not be able to rent a room. And, when you check out, you have to wait while the manager goes to the room and makes sure there is no damage.
- 5/5
Was o for one night
- 4/5
Sheets and towels were clean, water worked normally, tv and outlets also worked normally. These might be standard things but for what we wanted and the good price point, I want to leave a good review. It was quiet as well, though our night the motel did not have that many guests. Just keep in mind to bring cash for the deposit at check in, which is refundable but is separate from the actual room payment.

The day before the trip I was called asking what time I would be checking in. I explained most likely around three, which is when the check-in time is. unfortunately we got stuck in traffic and we’re late checking in. at 4:01 I received a call asking when I was coming because I was late. I explained about the morning traffic and that we would be just going straight to the beach and get there probably around 930 to 10 after fireworks Again due to the holiday. We were stuck in traffic and at 10:21. I received a call asking why I was not at the facility and when I would I be there I told them I was five minutes away. when I got there They told me they couldn’t check me in because my maiden name was on my debit card thank goodness I still had my maiden license. We started the check-in process and then I was told there would be a $50 cash deposit in in order to get the keys to the room which was not stated anywhere on the website or on the three calls that they left me so I had to get my stuff and go to a bank at 11 o’clock at night with my kids&take money out& then we finally got into a room by 11:30. The beds were hard. There was holes in the walls. The AC worked, but it didn’t cool the room down we were told no pets, but there was a dog in the lobby &posted everywhere around the hotel is signes, stating that there will be no exceptions for refunds, which should’ve been the first red flag. This was probably the worst hotel stay I’ve ever had and I’ve stayed in a lot of Hotels.
- 3/5
The motel is better if you don't want to go book a hotel.. Nice staff, clean and close to restaurants.
- 3/5
Many requirements to answer upon check in
- 3/5
check in was slow. no details from owner. room and bathroom smelled like cigarettes.
- 5/5
Clean
- 3/5
Room was clean but was outdated, musty and smelled of stale smoke. Had to use our mini air purifier just so we could stay there overnight. A $50 cash deposit is required when you check in. The money is returned when you check out after a staff member inspects the room. We wouldn't stay there again.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay . Everything was really good
- 1/5
What made me leave early though was an overwhelming smell of sewage even though there was no backup of any kind in my bathroom. Manager claimed she couldn’t smell it and offered an air freshener. Since it was literally making me ill, I ended up using a family member’s room (different hotel) to get ready for the event I was in town for and went home that evening instead of the next day as originally planned. This was an unpleasant experience and I regret booking this hotel.
- 4/5
It was ok
- 3/5
When I arrived, the motel appeared completely vacant. The office was open, tidy and clearly in use, but no one was around. I walked around the grounds. Nobody. Went back to the office and called them. 8 feet away, the office phone rang and rang. Finally someone came and checked me in. It took about 45 minutes. After that no problems. The room was just fine.
- 2/5
Stayed 6 days due to proximity to son’s USCG station. First room they assigned me was not fit for my dog— and I wasn’t traveling with my dog. Filthy 20 year old mattress & a bed spread that hasn’t seen the inside of a wash machine EVER. Upon immediate request was moved to perfectly adequate room— about what you’d expect for the price. My issue with the inn keeper was: why subject me to the first room? I won’t be returning. I advise skip this one.
- 5/5
It was a good one! Quiet no issues the man at the desk was friendly and prompt loved it
- 5/5
Good trip.
- 5/5
Cheap and clean. You get what you pay for, and it does not disappoint for the price.
- 4/5
It was a very nice motel very very clean
- 3/5
Tear in the carpet and blanket. Ice machine was unreliable, surprised that they still use keys instead of card to unlock door.
- 1/5
The worse hotel situation that I have dealt with so far on Expedia.
- 5/5
The owners are very sweet and the rooms are clean and safe.
- 3/5
I had a nonsmoking room but still had odor of smoke in room n coming thru vents
- 4/5
All was good besides the deposit for non smoking room.was never told about until check in
- 5/5
Check in great check out man was awful!! Don't stay here. Room.was old and dirty and smelled badly. Holes in sheets and bedspreads. Mattress crazy bad.
- 5/5
Great price. Simple but all I need.
- 4/5
It's a very minimalistic motel. You get a clean room with daily housekeeping. The towels I particularly noticed were very fresh smelling. Nothing fancy but serves the purpose.
- 5/5
Even though the exterior of the motel looks austere, the room was quite nice and clean with all the basic amenities in good working order.
- 3/5
Did not like the room. Man on the facility ws mean and nasty.
- 1/5
was charged for the delux room. no silverware or plates or cookware for kitchen. microwave does not work. curtains are not blackout so room stays bright at noght due to outside lights
- 4/5
The room is clean, good microfridge and tv.Near amusement areas
- 5/5
Great, clean place to stay. We drove from Connecticut over 7 hours & we were very comfortable on our lay over to Myrtle beach SC here.
- 5/5
Great Stay!
- 2/5
A mistake was made with the amount charged at check in, they undercharged me by $44 but the way they went about resolving it was nothing short of disgraceful. Shouting at each other and at me, not even letting me get a word in till I shouted back. I knew I'd paid more than what they said but couldn't prove it as they hadn't given me a receipt. Resolved in the end and I was right, I had paid more than they claimed. The room, burn holes in the bedding, carpet is so filthy my wife's new white socks were black in just one day. Over all the property is in dire need of a makeover. Not a place I'll go back to.
- 2/5
Room was as clean as it could be for the property. Walls are very thin, so sleep will be dependent on who your neighbors are. Area is fine, but will not be staying again. Bathroom smelled like smoke, despite the $50 cash I had to pay to ensure I didnt smoke in the room. Money was refunded on checkout.
- 3/5
Wooded area outside my window was nice
- 4/5
It served its purpose well. Would stay again if I was just needing a place to lay my head.
- 5/5
Very nice place to stay if you're up near Yorktown.
- 5/5
Great price for a simple stay.
- 1/5
The property has it posted in front, no refunds for any reason in which I feel is NOT RIGHT!!!! Unable to get clean towels even though the face towels in my room were soiled...Roach crawling on my bag, and THE MATTRESS NEEDS TO BE REPLACED!!!!
- 4/5
Room(s) were clean, ac blew cold, check-in and out was painless.
- 4/5
This is a nice little motor inn. Facilities were clean though some attention could be applied to corner spiderwebs. The price was fairly priced for the accommodations. I used the Crown Inn as a base while I worked on my sailboat.
- 3/5
The place initially seemed clean enough, but when the bathroom floor got at all wet it reeked if urine.
- 5/5
Clean and affordable
- 4/5
Overall good stay. Had a late check-in, which was accommodated. Amenities are pretty good, bathroom was a little aged, but taken care of.
- 4/5
Very accommodating to my needs.
- 4/5
Tour stay at the Crown Inn was fine. It was clean an comfortable. Very few outlets available to recharge our phones. Office staff not terrible, but not very friendly. I constantly felt like I was imposing on them
- 3/5
The bathroom floor was sticky with something that had been spilled on it. The sheets didn't look fresh, but didn't look dirty, just questionable. The hair dryer didn't work. But it's a roadside motel for a decent price, so I wasn't expecting the Ritz, and I felt safe.
- 5/5
Very nice staff. Very friendly and helpful
- 5/5
Support small businesses mom and pop owners and they do there own cleaning rooms were clean and seen improvements on the outside will stay here again
- 2/5
The paper work I had to sign said no refunds
- 5/5
Well, it has been a while since I left any comments. This hotel is extremely clean compared to the ones in the Hampton Roads/Tidewater area.
- 5/5
The room was clean and would recommend to others.
- 5/5
It was a very nice clean small quiet hotel off of route 17 in Yorktown and we plan on staying there again the owners and the staff were great and centrally located for everything that we were doing for his Jamestown Williamsburg and Yorktown
- 5/5
Friendly staff more then accommodating
- 2/5
Arrived at 2:55, when I asked to check in I was told for $10 you can check in early. There was a roach in our bathroom (hubby told me when we got home). The frig was unplugged when we came back to our room. I plugged it in, everything froze in there. There was one pack of coffee and the cream and sugar packets were a solid block when I opened them. I asked for towels instead of having our room cleaned, and I was told no the owner takes the keys home. It was 2:00 in the afternoon the second day of our stay. The only good thing was the price… now I know why it was so low.
- 5/5
Stayed there a few times was staying at the Comfort Inn when visiting family but found this facility and glad I did the only place i will stay.
- 4/5
Cleanliness and quiet, good location
- 4/5
The motel is convenient to the Yorktown historical site and is close to the entry to the beautiful Colonial Parkway that leads to Williamsburg and Jamestown.
- 4/5
Crown Inn is your basic no frills motel worth staying at a few nights.
- 4/5
Very comfortable, clean, economy motel. The only issues we had were that there was no shampoo, and the hair dryer didn't work. Everything else was great! I would definitely stay here again.
- 4/5
Nice little motel. TV wasn't connected, but management fixed that. Clean and neat. Only issue, mattress was very soft. Told management when they were connecting TV, but they gave a politically correct response. Personally, I'm pretty sure the mattress needs to be replaced. Clean and neat place, would stay again.
- 5/5
Amazing price. Great location. I stayed there twice so far and will go back again.
- 5/5
I was so happy at how clean it was. The price is amazing, so you may set your expectations lower. But it was great! I will be back.
- 4/5
Very nice, quiet area
- 4/5
.
- 4/5
A comfortable place to sleep at a reasonable price a reasonable price.
- 3/5
I'm going to tell you what if they would invest in some beds they would definitely be at least a have three to four star rating.
- 4/5
comfortable beds, quiet rtoom
- 1/5
Checked in to property later in the day. Went to do errands came back and entered very dimly lit room. Next morning woke up to find bed bugs in bed. Owners did not fully refund our stay but did refund the days we did not stay. Would not recommend staying unless the problem is resolved.
- 2/5
Old motel seems right out of the 60’s - bed pillows, dirty carpet. Awful place - seems like a place for working men as a temp place to stay shoo-in itinerate jobs. Would never stay at this place again go anywhere else for this price!
- 1/5
Asked for non smoking room. Was assured we were in a nonsmoking room and area. Unfortunately the person in the room next door was smoking right outside our door. We asked at the desk if they could please have him smoke in a different area as the smoke was coming in our room and our son has severe health issues. Both male and female desk clerks said they would do nothing about this since the room RIGHT NEXT DOOR was for smoking. Seriously? I would NEVER stay here again. In addition the bed was very lumpy and the room smelled bad.
- 2/5
This is overpriced and outdated. The room is set up for construction workers extended stays. The door uses a key, the curtain at the window is right over air conditioning unit so it blows and you can see inside from outside. Large stain in rug, no bedside table lamps, ceiling only. First TV didn’t work at all, given replacement. Bed was a FULL SIZE so if you turned over you would be on the floor. No cover on boxsprig, old comforter. Mattress not comfortable.
- 5/5
I was on a road trip going to poultry swaps this motel was about a mile from a tractor supply that I was going to a swap at so it was very convenient . A nice room, very clean, beds comfortable, good price. Will stay again if I'm in the area
- 3/5
The owners know their service sucks, that's why they have "NO REFUNDS" in big red letters at the front desk. We weren't going to waste money, so we were stuck with it. We certainly won't be back. It seems like the owners of this establishment would rather rent their rooms out as apartments for long-stay guests rather than just a few days.
- 4/5
Place is spotless, which is truly amazing at a budget motel these days. Location couldn't be more convenient. Right on 17 and a short, easy drive to Yorktown and the Battlefield. Room was very large, with a small fridge and microwave, as well as a dining table. I was particularly struck by the nice view from the back window in Rm. 109 - grass and woods - unlike the typical parking lot or highway view. It is not fancy, however. Open rack for clothing, fairly thin towels, etc. But bathroom's been redone and, as noted, everything is very clean. I do have to echo someone who noted the mattress was too soft, esp. on one side. I was only there one night, so no problem, but probably a good idea to replace it (and maybe them) next.
- 5/5
Very good for the price 👍. Very clean.
- 4/5
price
- 5/5
Good price! Clean room!
- 5/5
An old motel. It is quiet, the room is clean, the bed is comfortable and the shower is nice. If you want fancy this is not for you. If you want a clean comfortable old motel, this is a great place to stay!
- 5/5
Perfect location for what we wanted to do.
- 5/5
Good stay
- 5/5
I would suggest that they replace the signature pad at the front desk as it is impossible to see without direct lighting.
- 2/5
It took to long to check-in considering we had a prepaid reservation. The horrible thing was the worn out mattress. Wife slept ok on her side of bed, but my side appears to be everyone sits to watch TV, and there is no insulation in the mattress! I got practically no sleep, as a result! Because the owners/managers were such nice people, we hate having to any negatives, but that mattress should be replaced immediately. Also, the check in process can be improved with better training I feel. Having the counter clerk turn their back to for several minutes was most uncomfortable for me!
- 4/5
Don't expect 4 star accommodations. I do not mean that as a slam. This place is your basic, old road side motel (still using a real key 🔑). So if you are high maintenance or like extra amenities, this is not the place for you. If your just looking for a place to sleep and shower, that is clean, bug free and safe. Then this is the place. I would recommend taking your own pillows. The ones in our room were flat and uncomfortable.
- 3/5
This is an older economy motel that has been given some updates. It's convenient to the historic sites in Yorktown and was fine for a solo weekend visit. However, be aware that if you choose a non-smoking room, they might require a cash deposit on top of your room charge.
- 1/5
The motel is decidedly anti-military. They took one look at my disabled veteran and cancelled our reservation. Then tried to charge us $50 more to rebook the same spot and with local prices going up when you try to schedule same day hotels? Black mail? You can't count on them. Hotels.com doesn't have human customer service so they were unavailable to help. We were totally stranded. Not here.
- 5/5
Easy access to the battlefield at Yorktown! Clean and updated but room was spacious and easy to get food and drink, all close to the Motel
- 4/5
Mine was a one-night stay for a nearby family wedding. The room was larger than expected, clean, well-appointed, and more then adequate for a good night sleep and a place to dress for the wedding. The bed was quite comfortable.
- 4/5
The room was neat and clean. Mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker were in good working order. The bathroom was clean but no hand towels were available. Pillows are pretty inexpensive. They need new pillows. Although it was nice, it was overpriced. For the money I would look elsewhere next time.
- 3/5
In the room, no sofa. And no USB plug to charge anything. Wifi us available, but I didnt use it. The bed was fine. Everything looks old. A regular key to open the door. I wasnt impressed. When I decided to leave early and just go home, I knew there were no refunds, but again, thrre was no one to give my jey to even when I called out.
- 2/5
Horrible. Room smelled musty and like smoke even though it was non smoking. No tv in the bedroom tv was in the kitchen area, no seating except 2 uncomfortable kitchen table chairs. Floor was unlevel in the bedroom and felt like it was going to fall through in spots. This place hasn’t been updated since maybe the 70’s?? I feel ripped off for what I paid versus what I got. Don’t believe any reviews for this place they’re all a lie. Horrible dump, don’t stay here. I had to because of a booking error on my part, it was the only thing in town that had any rooms.
- 3/5
It was adequate.
- 5/5
Very nice quiet little place with everything nearby.
- 4/5
The owner and staff were excellent.
- 3/5
I knew this was going to be a basic roadside type hotel. It was clean for most part. Room had an odd smell, not smoke. Shower had mildew. Bed hard and sheets while clean, had stains. We just needed a place to sleep, otherwise wouldn't come back
- 5/5
Room was clean and nothing out of the ordinary but just what we needed. If you are looking for hotels with gyms don’t stay here. But if all you need is a clean room w/tv, refrigerator and microwave this is the place to stay.
