Breakfast is basic buffet style sub par quality. Dry overcooked rubbery cheese omelet with dry potatoes, cold hard boiled eggs, fruit and oatmeal as well as a waffle station. The missing hairdryer was replaced, but only after receiving a front desk call telling me to check the bathroom drawer and a staff member entering my bathroom to check the drawer without requesting permission to do so. I think that conduct is unprofessional and a guest should have an item replaced quickly without being questioned about it. Just a little more staff training needed perhaps. Overall, this is a good option if you’re just here on a quick work trip and you’re not expecting an amazing breakfast experience. The bedding was clean, comfortable and met my needs.

This hotel is very well located in Albany NY, right across from the University at Albany and near highways. It was comfortable with a good bed and bathroom supplies. I was quite satisfied with all aspects of my stay.

I love that the breakfast had turkey bacon and chicken sausage as meat options because I don't eat pork. I also like that ther was a pork meat option for the people who do eat pork. The staff in the breakfast area was professional and kept the area well stocked. The only thing you could have done better is have a location closer to downtown Albany's Capitol building.

My room on the third floor was quite large. I enjoyed that it had a microwave and mini refrigerator. Blackout shades helped me sleep peacefully.

This was a great hotel for a quick stay during our long distance drive. The breakfast was great and the workout room was well equipped. The room was nice and clean.

Breakfast was great. Everything was clean. Every staff interaction was positive. Room decor is a little tired. No fan in the bathroom. I specifically asked for housekeeping to come on our 3rd day to take out trash and refresh towels. I was assured they come daily (they hadn’t yet up to this point). When we returned at the end of the day, housekeeping has not come. Front desk person had someone come up promptly to take trash and give us new towels.

The rooms are very clean and the staff are very friendly; the only issue is that the rooms are very small for a family with children.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Hampton Inn Albany/Western Ave., the room was super clean, the staff was very helpful and the indoor pool area was beautiful! The hotel was also in a great location with many local businesses available and trips to MVP arena and the New York State Museum were easy and less than 15 minutes away. We'll definitely be returning to this location in the future.

Check in was mediocre, concierge did not explain check out time or breakfast availability. Room was decent, unfortunately the toilet paper holder in the bathroom is falling off the wall.

The other was the front desk clerk on the first morning of our stay (Friday morning. December 26th at 6:30 a.m.). She was so helpful and accommodating. She didn't act put out when we asked for help and was quick to assist us with sincere friendliness. We did not catch her name. but had hoped to thank her and leave her a tip; however, she was not on duty on Saturday morning. Both of these individuals deserve a raise! They are an asset to your hotel ~ Please give them a special commendation for their excellent service on our behalf.

The room was spacious. It had two very comfortable double beds. The gym was nice and had a variety of equipment and weights. And the breakfast was literally food I would make for myself. Eggs, potatoes, meats, waffles, bagels, toast, coffee, fruit, variety of juices and muffins. The staff hovered and continued to bring out full trays of food. Continental breakfast is a waste of time but a good robust breakfast like this is definitely worth the stay. The staff also texted daily to make sure I was enjoying my stay. Well done.

We stayed one night at the Hampton Inn kin Albany NY. The hotel is very close to SUNY Albany. We had room with 2 double beds, comfortable no complaints. The hotel allows dogs and it appeared the dog was on our floor you could hear the dog barking loudly. Breakfast is free and had a variety of food options. The area was clean and food was plenty. Great spread for breakfast. There's coffee and tea in the lobby. I would recommend Hampton Inn the pros out way any negatives

Expensive but worth it

Staff was understanding when I thought I had gotten the wrong room and complained. The room was clean, but furniture could use stain touch ups. Previous trips here I had had a room that had been, as it appeared, newly remodeled.

I always stay at this hotel and I am NEVER disappointed. Everything is New, Clean, Modern. Everyone is friendly. Breakfast buffet is not huge but they have a big variety and always fully stocked. Coffee always in the lobby. Convenient location, close to shopping and restaurants. You will not be disappointed if you stay here.

The Hampton Inn on Western avenue is the hotel where I always stay when I am in Albany, NY area. It’s super convenient to SUNY and everything else that’s going on in the City. The staff is always welcoming, friendly and helpful. The rooms are spotlessly clean and very comfortable. In the morning there is a breakfast buffet that is always well stocked and delicious. What’s not to love? I have to give one more shout out to the staff, because they ALWAYS go the extra mile to make sure my stay is as pleasant as it can possibly be.

My mini fridge was turned off, so my food spoiled. The hotel's policy about payment at check-in is different than what was listed on Expedia. Would never stay here again.

Everything was pretty great. The AC was just very loud in the room. It made a loud thud that woke me up at 3:30 AM. I went back to sleep. There wasn't anything that I felt was worth complaining about.

The Hampton Inn on Western Avenue is where we always stay when we travel to Albany, NY. The location is super convenient. The staff is always friendly and helpful. It was so hot. The ac was horrible. It would not go lower then 65 and the room never got below 68 all night. The waffles were dry and no flavor and the eggs were like rubber. The ac alone ruined my stay.

I was leery about the neighborhood but it was a nice quiet area. Convenient location. Several dining options within a 5 minute drive. We needed to check in early and it was no problem whatsoever. Room was updated and clean. Staff was very friendly. My wife forgot an expensive pair of sunglasses and the hotel found them and held on to them until she picked them up a few days later which to me speaks to integrity. I would stay here again.

Stayed here before. It is a nice place. Since the first time we went the prices per night have gone up a lot. We stay to go to the racetrack, we only did one night because of the price where we did multiple nights in the past.

I had a very nice conversation overnight stay. Staff was pleasant property was clean and it’s so close to shopping. The only thing I missed was a full length mirror. There was none but overall excellent stay.

Second room had a few working out let’s but the air conditioning was still uncontrollable. When mentioned to staff, they said it was due to the heat wave. My account was gone into and charged during my stay for amounts that made no sense. It needs to made clear to customers that after your stay reaches a certain amount, your account is charged mid-stay. I was also told that upon leaving, my account would be charged. It was reimbursed, but when checking my account, which I do almost daily, it looked like I was being hacked by Hilton. It took four days and a call to corporate customer service to be able to speak with the manager. Once he got the call from corporate, he was then “available”to call me. We worked out a reimbursement only after I refused the offer of Hilton honors points. Not a good performance by anyone!

Everything was pretty good. We requested adjoining rooms. When we arrived they said they could give them to us but we would have to wait 2 hours. After waiting we went to rooms only to find out they were next to each other but not adjoining. Not the worst thing but a bit annoying. Not sure what's wrong but we did have trouble with the key working as well. But all in all not a bad place.

Room was fine - carpets are sort of gross. Rooms should have a full length mirror. I mistakenly forgot to cancel our first night and sent an email in the morning to informa location that we were still coming for second night- Paid in advance no refund I knew. But I was surprised to hear back that our room had been cancelled as a no show? fortunately there was a room but I was quite unsettled to hear that maybe it would not have been?

Most of the parking lot was coned off and not accessible. The property itself is decent, but the stay was uncomfortable due to staff interactions (or lack thereof.

Conveniently located off the highway

Property and service were great. Expedia charged me twice and they still haven't cleared it up. The hotel worked very hard to get it resolved, even telling Expedia that they were not charging me for the second reservation. So that means Expedia took my money.

My daughter was moving to the Albany area and this hotel was amazing because we were able to park a 26 foot U-Haul easily in their parking lot and felt completely safe leaving everything there. The hotel was close to everything and we were able to find great food and have a good night after a long move.

The hotell cancelled my room and gave it to some one else while I was traveling so for the second time my reservation threw hotels.com my family was stuck out of town with no room

My stay was ok. Room was convenient and comfortable. Excellent breakfast spread. The thermostat in the room didn’t help maintain a comfortable temperature, I alternated between heat snd cool to try to find a sweet spot. TV turned on automatically to “welcome” me after I had already gone to bed. Pool water looked cloudy so I avoided it, but had been planning to use it.

Check-in was easy and smooth. All the staff at the hotel was delightful. My room was clean and fully stocked.

Generically comfortable! I was disappointed that the heating unit in the room was extremely loud. Also I was given a room on the ground floor and the curtains did not close completely and I had to use a paperclip to keep outside lights, including headlights, from bothering me. Also returned one night to find the room had not been serviced - not a problem, except there was a little card saying it was because of "requested privacy" which I had not requested.
