I didn’t like the fact that they charged you $10 to park your car and I didn’t know that until we checked in. That should be included in the fees when booking the hotel room.

The shower head was falling off. There was a hole in the wall behind the door in the drywall. The fire alarm was out of the wall and broken. Nobody helped these issues when I left the list at the front. I also did not feel safe with kids at this hotel due to location. Beds seemed clean.

It will unfortunately be the last opportunity we have to stay there as the prices have jumped radically in the last year and of course now charging for parking.

Beds were comfortable and room was a good size however when we entered it, we saw there was no fridge and no coffee maker. I checked the website again and saw that they were to be included so I went back to the front desk. I was told there is a new policy and you have to request a coffee maker and check it out. This took a few minutes of filling in the name and room name on a form and waiting until the clerk got the Keurig and all the supplies together in a bag. Then I was told that she put in a request for a fridge and someone may bring it that night but if not, maintenance would bring one in the morning. Well neither ever happened and we spent the two days without a fridge.

Comfy beds. Nice rooms, convenient location. Staff were ok, but not friendly. When my room card had to be reprogrammed after breakfast, there was no apology for the inconvenience. The breakfast staff started shutting things down early.

The hotel was good and so was the breakfast. Beds were comfortable and the room had a microwave and a refrigerator. Two things I didn't like were the water spigot in the bathroom (water came out like a shower/no force, and it cost $10 to park. The previous day, I spent the night at another hotel, Hampton Inn in the same city. There was no parking charge, the room cost was half of this one, and the rooms were comparable.

Mediocre breakfast. None of the USB ports in my room were functional. Alarm went off throughout the hotel at about 5:30am on Saturday and wasn’t shut off for about 20 minutes

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Conveniently located on Richmond Hwy, near the 495 interchange. Very close to the Huntington metro station as well. Price was very reasonable, beds were comfortable. There was a bit of street noise and the walls/ceilings were a bit thin. Fort Belvoir is still a bit further down the road.

Solid breakfast for the brand, great location. Close to oldtown and DC. Bed seemed a little off our first night, the room needed a fresh up clean before we got there.

Our overall experience was pretty good at this Holiday Inn Express, but it seems as though the whole property is in need of some renovations.

Basic, clean hotel but the facilities are just okay. The positives: comfortable bed, decent breakfast, friendly staff and well-functioning bathroom (although the bathroom looked a bit run-down). Negatives: The elevator couldn't be called to the 4th floor so you needed to call the front desk or go down stairs. The refrigerator in the room wasn't usable because it wouldn't shut. There was kind of a musky smell when I first entered the room.

Booked a hot tub, and was not given one and was a hassle to even get accomdated for what I paid for.

Wonderful but helpless staff as they dont have after hours support. Managerial team/ owner needs to gear up and support them in making sure elevators, faucets, juice machines, door handles in the toilets,basic things are working! Property at great location, parking fees minuscule, safe. Would come again if quick response to these room emergencies is available 24/7 which seems limited. That will give a great value for money!

Breakfast was excellent. The only downside was the guests upstairs that made a lot of noise and staff was not able to properly address it even after being notified.

Rooms were clean and roomy and staff was friendly. Work out room was solid and breakfast was nice. A liked the coffee machine that brewed for you. It did cost 10 bucks a night to park.

The stay was great but it’s not in the best location there were many homeless people in and out of the hotel and were begging for things when they seen me. But other then that it was great

Were charged $35 extra and when asked about it said it would be returned on our checkout 2 hours later no money refund and we are traveling on a very tight budget. Only trash in room was in bathroom. Booked as handicap and had tub instead of shower toilet was 6 “ from wall

Room was spotless, staff was great, breakfast was very good. We did have one issue with the blackout shade. It was electric and the switch did not operateas expected. The shade was stuck in semi open position and could not move because of the switch. Front desk offered a maintence person to look at it, however it would have to be next day...i ended up putting a sheet over the entire window for privacy.

I have to say the room, as well as other parts of the hotel, was very clean. The overall accommodations were pleasant. The continental breakfast was prompt, varied and served hot. Check-in and check-out was seemless. I would definitely stay there again

The room and overall surroundings were clean, with fresh linens. The venue needs updated-elevator needs repaired, ice maker not working. Carpets and decor Dated. It was ok, not outstanding.

Hotel Staff & Breakfast was Amazing!!

Room was clean. Lobby and hallways all had a pleasant ambient smell. Front desk staff was friendly but breakfast was a let down. The attendant refused to refill the pancake machine, there was no milk, and the coffee machine was empty.

We needed a nice, quiet room for a night in the area at a decent price, and we got everything we wanted. It was so quiet and peaceful, even though we weren't far from the back entrance and elevators. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, and we wouldn't hesitate to book again.

They spring a parking fee on you at check in. You can pay it, lose any advance payment you set down and leave or park a couple miles away in a place where my car has been broken into before. Nothing but a money grab. Shame on them.

I think that the breakfast could’ve been a lot better. It was very cold. What was put out for breakfast? Was not what it was on the sign coffee machine when you were working properly.

The hotel is in a good location. From the lobby to the rooms, everything is kept clean. And the hotel also looks like it has been updated, both in terms of repairs and furniture. The breakfast selection is good and is included in the price of the hotel. The hotel staff at the front desk are nice and attentive. I recommend this hotel, especially since the price per night is affordable.

Someone was crying, whaling and talking in the hallway all night making sleeping impossible. When I reported to front desk they were defensive, there was and said it wasn’t as long.

We had a nice stay at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Alexandria. It was a great central location as we were there to visit family in DC.

This is a Holiday inn Express and that's why we're here and it is usual and customary which means that it is a standard above most of the other places. We will continue to rent with Holiday inn Express.

Place looked clean and friendly. When booking it was mentioned online (via Expedia) that there was shuttle service but when I called after flying in the staff mentioned they hadn't had shuttle service for a while. That changed plans on our trip, and we had to adjust big time.

From the moment I checked in, the staff was helpful with directing me to find restaurants. The hotel was convenient to my meeting sites and easy to locate from the expressway.

Front desk staff appeared to be greatly inconvenienced by our check in. The room smelled unclean and the thermostat unresponsive. Our bathroom was clean however we were given no option of not taking a bath, as the drain was so incredibly slow that the water was well past one's ankles. Very limited parking with the added inconvenience of a traffic light that remained red, always, with a "no right turn on red" sign posted.

Prooerty was clean, room was clean and stocked. Front desk agent was super kind, answered all questions, provided menus for local resturants and attentive. Property is close to MGM not bad pricing for uber from point A to B. Would highly recommend and stay again.

Friendly staff

An uneventful stay at a decent place, clean and tidy. The breakfast wasn't quite up to standard and we had a TV remote that had a mind of its own but overall it was just fine.

We stayed at the property for two weeks and it was a good location to connect with Huntingdon Metro station ( 18 minutes walking or 5 minutes on the 177 bus ) The hotel was generally clean although we found cockroaches in our room at the five day point and moved rooms for the rest of our stay ! The breakfast was not as good as other IHG that I have stayed at .

Great spot for a 1 night stay with my family. The property was very clean and spacious. We traveled we teen kids and we enjoyed the spacious room. The area around was very nice, lots of dinning and shopping. It was also nice and quiet. I only thing that was an issue was the WiFi. I didn't connect to our laptop at all and connection was slow on the phones.

The pull up mattress was full of urine. However, the staff was extremely helpful in getting it switched out and a new one. Couldn’t get many pillows, breakfast was good but the pancake machine was not working. Felt safe. Close to downtown DC for all activities.

Had free parking which was hard to find. Breakfast was great and convenient. Overall very clean and staff was friendly. Getting to the metro was about a mile but not too hard in the morning and day. Getting back at night was ok but had to walk through a park and a little woods. Coming back at night you may want to get a car share. It was only 35.00 from Arlington Cemetery. Overall great place to stay if you do t want to drive into DC. You could also park at the metro station if needed.

Everything was good. I was a bit disappointed that the spa was broken but other than that I was happy.

Convenient to DC, clean and quiet

I wanted to a few things in DC without the hassle of driving into the city or the expense. This hotel is a four minute drive from the Huntington Metro Station that takes one into the city so it was quite convenient. Also, the staff is exceptional. I botched my booking through Expedia, but the front desk person was immensely helpful and I still feel grateful for that.

I reserved a room with a roll in shower. I was told by staff that my room was given to someone else that did not like the room that they originally reserved.

I’ve been to numerous Holiday Inn Express & IHG properties, but this was by far the worst experience. Dirty, noisy, limited amenities, rude staff, lackluster breakfast, broken elevator & ice machine, overpriced, and unsafe location with parking limited mostly to back of property. Will not stay here again.

The front desk clerk Shamar was great..She was very accommodating and polite. Her customer service is phenomenal. I look forward to returning. The room was clean and updated. Very spacious bathroom. Im please with the comfortable king bed and jaquzzi. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Nice I loved

The rooms are ok. But we have four people for one room and they only have two set of towels. And the tv remote control didn’t work it. And the cards for the room also not working. I have to tell one of our members to stay in the room. This is ridiculous. Also I booked two connect rooms. And they give us different rooms. Cross the room. We have two families members. It is not convenient. And we see they have indoor pool and Jacuzzi. So I booked it. The front desk told us to go the next hotel near them and ask them can we use their indoor pool . Because they don’t have both. So why they write they have both. This is misleading advertisement..
