Clean, quiet, cozy rooms. Staff was friendly. Felt inviting

The first room assigned had a very musty smell, a large dead roach in the floor and peeling shower. Front desk staff was able to assign a different room with no problem. Second room had a dehumidifier running which helped but shower was peeling in that room too. Had to request a clean sheet as there was a questionable stain on one of them. Breakfast buffet was very good. Area around hotel is rather seedy looking and there is not really a good area to walk pets.

Our bathroom was quite dirty and there were stains on the wall.

The photos of this hotel are very deceiving. The first room we walked into was horribly remodeled, the walls were chipping, there were flies stuck to the paint in the restroom, and there were what looked like bodily fluids on the seat in the room. We asked to switch rooms and they were able to accommodate that, but the next room was barely any better. Overall it was just very deceiving.

Great service, nicely remodeled rooms and a nice, simple breakfast. Only drawback was the room was a bit dirty. I did ask them to come up and sanitize the toilet, as it was obviously used. Also the floor was pretty dirty. The beds were comfortable and the room was a value as all the other rooms in the area were averaging $200 a night.

It’s your basic budget motel. Ok for one night but you won’t be sad to leave!

We stayed at the La Quinta as we’ve stayed in others and enjoyed our stay. This was not the same experience! The shower was unusable as the shower head was coming out of the wall and way too short for my 5’5” husband to stand under! When the toilet paper needed to be used the toilet paper holder came out of the wall! The air conditioner made so much noise and don’t get me started about the mattress that was older than my 65 year old self! We stayed one night and would sleep in the car before we stayed there again.

I enjoyed the stay. The staff was very helpful. The room was clean and well maintained. Next time I come to visit family I will stay there.

There was a Mexican restaurant nearby which allowed us to have our dog with us inside. Quiet, even though close to the freeway. We were on a month long trip and I stayed in several La Quinta Inn motels. They all were excellent except for this one in Amarillo. It was old and dated and not nearly as spacious as the others. The soap dispenser was empty and one of the bedside light bulbs was burned out.

It was dirty. The floors, the walls, the light switches and door was very beat up. The lamp wouldn't work. The tv didnt work and then someone came to fix it on their only day off and it only gave you a few channels. I had to press to get help.

Nothing about this motel was great I guesss minus the clean bed. We asked for an extra blanket were denied, got told the wrong directions to our room. Went to the room wasn’t what I reserved , wasn’t ever told anything until we entered the room.After a long travel day took a shower there was zero shampoo, hand wash/bar soap or body wash so had to just use conditioner, it can’t be that difficult to refill some bottles. AC worked but super loud woke me up a few times.

It's an old Motel 6 or Quality Inn that has been hastily renovated in what appears to be the past 5-10 years. It was clean enough to put my head down but overall the place is a little worse for wear. Despite first impressions it was quiet enough at night and I slept above average for a hotel/motel nights sleep. It also has the stereotypical ultra hard hotel/motel water that won't make a lather even with dish soap. I'm not unsatisfied with my stay but I will definitely be looking for a little more upscale place next time.

The room I had was clean and comfortable. It looked to be recently updated. The outside could use a little care but the room was definitely very clean. There is a small fridge and microwave and coffee maker. The hotel offered a nice little basic breakfast and coffee to help get you started on the day. I would definitely stay here again.

The room was mostly clean, though the sheets were slightly discolored in places. Breakfast was... Well it was breakfast and it did the job. Hand soap was empty when we arrived, and we probably could have had someone refill it but we were tired and just used the soap dispenser in the shower. Stairs were slightly wobbly, but we are both bigger folk so I guess if you run heavy I guess just watch the outdoor stairs and use the handrails. The channel selection on the TV was great!

The room look like it had been recently remodeled, but apparently there is no building code. There was wires hanging out of the wall the electrical switch you could push into the wall. Shower pan very slippery. The shower faucet was not tightened to the wall so it moved all over when you turned the water off and on and the room was filthy. It looked like they had just finished remodeling and nobody came to clean it.

The room was very dirty and not as nice as advertised. The floors specifically were extremely dirty. When we showered, our feet left black marks in the shower after only walking around for a few minutes. We also saw debris from crumbling walls and toenails. Outside of that, everything else was mediocre.

This ultimately turned into a long-term stay for me from January 26' to April of 26'. The only reason why I rate the staff 5 stars with the exception of the managers, is because the staff were super nice and helpful and supporting me during my stay. It wasn't the first time I stayed here at La Quinta Mid-City. I stayed a couple of days back in October of last year until I got my own place. The breakfast is average with not many choices if you are a long-term stay it kind of gets boring after a while. But it's well worth it when you don't have any funding for food at times, or want to grab a quick morning bite. The sausages and eggs at time weren't cooked all the way. The waffle mix batter sometimes didn't have a good mix consistency which made the waffles not cook evenly all the time. I was paying by the day and I would get flack from the management if I couldn't pay on time, due to me working and getting money from others just to pay. Being that I was there for so long, you would think management would be kind in working with me, but they became overbearing and it just became about MONEY rather than customer services. I ALWAYS paid them. I couldn't do anything besides getting paid weekly but pay the hotel and pay for Lyft back and forth to work. the prices NEVER stayed the same, so it was very hard to not have management not be willing to work with me being that I was there so long. Overall I would stay again because of staff and it's new management (I hope they're better).

The gym wasn't available due to remodeling. It looked like the pool was really old and also not open. The room itself is like an old style motel - when I walked into the room it smelled so strongly of ammonia and other intense cleaners. There was black mold in the bathroom on the ceiling and wall and obvious water damage in parts of the room.

There were several mattresses by the dumpsters which usually indicates bed bugs. When the room was examined there were stains on the bedding. We decided not to stay there and found another motel. We had booked the room in advance but when we told them we were leaving they would not refund our money.

I had never used a La Quinta before, but earlier in my trip I stayed at one and it was an excellent experience. Therefore, on the drive back I chose to stay here for an overnight stop. THIS MOTEL is what I expected from what I thought La Quinta are. Older and smaller. Parking lot with potholes, no dog relief area, right on the intestate and sharing a parking lot with Denny’s. Chipped paint and poorly cared for rooms. It was as clean as it could be, and I did appreciate the vinyl plank floors and white bedding. Breakfast was meh, no fresh fruit to grab and eat in the car. As a solo traveler, I would stay somewhere else and not use this venue again. It was however affordable. I’ve certainly stayed in worse.

The first room they issued had black smudges on/around the restroom handle and flakes/crumbs on the floors. The second one had yellow staining and body hair. They dont clean these rooms, and the baseboards and corners are all black from aged dust/dirt. It was the middle of the night and we had no other options for miles... The floors were sticky and stained our socks. No allergen friendly options in the menu. This was a rough stay. Wouldn't ever return.

The room was horrible, smelled really bad. When we went to use the bathroom, we noticed water underneath the tile around the toilet and realized the toilet was leaking from the bottom. The horrible smell was from the sewage because the toilet wasn’t secured to the floor and leaking from the bottom. We brought it to the attention of the employees at the front counter and they said they couldn’t do anything about it because they didn’t have any other rooms available. I was so disappointed and angry because they didn’t even show concern or offer a refund or discount on the room. Unfortunately we did not sleep in the room, actually ended up sleeping in the car and left the very next morning. I would never recommend this location, staff doesn’t care.

My dad and I went to our room on the second floor and as I opened the door, there was a man in one of the beds already inside the room. I immediately closed the door and told my dad and we went back to the lobby asking what happened with our room and that person’s room. I asked if it was a double book or if they gave me and my dad the wrong room but the front desk said that room was supposed to be ours and he doesn’t know why that person is in there. He gave us a new room and I don’t even know if he addressed the person in the other room. Needless to say, I highly do NOT recommend this hotel.

The room was dirty, smelly, and had visible mold and mildew in the shower. The stairs are scary for little children to climb and the whole top floor is slanted toward the road. The parking is uphill if you park close by the rooms. And it's constantly road noise all night. The beds are lumpy and you get 3 tiny pillows per bed. Breakfast gets filled up so quickly that it's hard to navigate or even get any food other than cereal, unless you are willing to sardine yourself in line and crowd others to wait. Not worth the time or money.

I booked this hotel solely relying on the name La Quinta thinking it would be at least average to spend one night at the place. The noise from the nearby road (not the highway 40) was too much. The rooms were clean, but very run down. The staff was nice no complaints there. The parking lot in front of the hotel was no bueno, it seemed unsafe.

Next time we are in Texas we will stay!

This was the second night we stayed, and it was so much better than the first. The beds didn't make noise when turning over, unlike the room we had the first night. The water was warm and the water pressure was good.

It's described as a hotel, but is a motel. There is a Taco Bell, a Wendy's and a Denny's in the parking lot. You could tell there was water damage under the vanity as the baseboard was off. I noticed when drying my hair. You bounced a little when standing in the shower. It feels rotten underneath. There were no black out shades so the sunlight beamed right into room 120 at dawn.

Breakfast was a little crazy. The area is too tight and crowded the easily prepare and serve vreakfast. What was provided was good. I really got a chuckle with the Texas shaped waffles. I would definately choose this La Quinta again.

Room was filthy with greasy handprints on the door jambs and black flecks in the tub, toilet bowl not cleaned— room stank of cheap disinfectant but only the floor looked clean — no sleep due to roar of traffic all night.

Outside of that no issues whatsoever, housekeeping was perfect couldn’t ask for better service. From the bathroom to the Bluetooth speaker. Would definitely recommend to others if you get a chance to stay in Amarillo. Only thing I could complain about is. I work from 6-4 Monday through Saturday. Which means I didn’t get breakfast like I deserved. Next time if I ask for a yogurt from the fridge I feel like for 💵570.59 a week that’s not to much to ask.

This property is in desperate need of upgrading! The grounds and building are old and not in good repair. My suite had numerous wall plugs that didn’t work and I had to take the hair dryer into the living area just to dry my hair! There is also no elevator for the second floor which makes it inconvenient to lug all the suitcases to the room. Hands down the worst La Quinta property I have ever stayed in! Won’t go back.

No apologies. No attempt to offer alternative solution. No refund. Wouldn't stay at this place, even if it was free.

Beds and bathtub were great! Got good rest

I will say the rooms were somewhat updated. New showers, sinks and vanities. New paint in the room. But it doesn’t cover up the condition of what is still there. Water pressure in showers is very poor. Staff was very friendly they do their jobs. Although the blankets and sheets were dirty as soon as we got into the room.

Overall decent place the electric was alittle wonky but we only needed it to sleep one night

The bed and room were very comfortable. The room appeared to be recently upgraded and was decorated very nicely. Comfortable bed and a good nights sleep. Good breakfast.

Walls were dirty

It was a converted old motel. Dull dingy and dirty. A rattle snake could have come under the door the gap was so big. Bugs came in. We gave 2 LaQuintas an opportunity, will never book one again. We have stayed at many previously with no problems

Loved everything

Tina at the front desk was amazing - friendly and helpful. The breakfast lady was super - was right on top of things and blessed us as we left. The breakfast was good - waffles, egg rounds, sausage rounds, yogurt, bread, hot and cold cereals. Bed were comfortable. This is a very large motel with access to each room from the outside. As a consequence, our room was a long way from the front desk and breakfast, so we had to pack up first and then drive around to the front to have breakfast. Would stay here again.

Nice neighborhood safe parking lots of restaurants

Staff was rude. Front desk lady complained about my service animal and demanded paperwork. Highly inappropriate and illegal.

I’m really not that picky but it was a bit too much after driving 1000 miles to just shower and sleep. People were great checking in. But glad we didn’t stay very long. Management really needs to put some TLC into this place. I stayed at a La Quinta when my son got out of boot camp and the place was great. Guess it’s time to spend a little money and effort on just making it look nice. Sorry

This hotel is not deserving of being included in the La Quinta family of hotels. Needs serious renovation and remodeling. The bathroom was a mess. The property overall was shoddy. Would never recommend it.

The front staff was very polite and attentive the breakfast was good I liked the coffee was always available the room was nice the price was fair the location was perfect for my reason there I will be making trips there several times a year and plan to keep booking at this location I was pleased with my experience

Staff was very friendly. The hotel is in need of updates, no usb plug ins, masking tape in bathroom to hold up baseboard. Bathroom tile was coming up caulking was everywhere to make patches

The bed was comfortable; the room was clean; however, it was really showing it's age and condition was "beat up". Really bright lights in the parking lot, which hinted of "crime area" to me. We could not darken the room due to the one shade at the window. There was breakfast, but we chose to eat an omelet at Denny's next door instead. No gym; it was under construction. No laundry.

Very friendly front staff, great location for nearby restaurants, comfortable room

We admittedly did not pay attention when booking this room, so when we arrived and saw that this building has outside entry rooms we were surprised and disappointed. However, we decided to give it a chance. The hospitality from the front desk was top notch. Our room was spacious and comfortable overall with a king bed with comfortable bedding. It had a desk with a rolling desk chair and two other lounge chairs. The flooring seemed to be very newly installed. The room had a television, refrigerator and microwave. The shower/toilet area did have a door, but the sink area was open; with the brightly -lit mirror, a door would have been nice to keep the bright light from shining into the room. The shower was spacious and very clean; however the caulk at the bottom looked as if it were haphazardly done. The room was clean and the AC worked well throughout our stay. We enjoyed the free breakfast provided and again were greeted warmly by the front desk staff. The breakfast area was neat, clean and well-stocked. I can understand why this hotel (motel really) has a rating of three stars, but we are not bougie people. We simply wanted a clean, comfortable room for two nights, and that's what we got.

The room was fine. The problem was that our room was the end room next to a very busy road, and a trash truck woke us up at 5:00 a.m. with loud noises. There wasn't a lot of sleeping done that night.

Expedia's app changed the date i entered for my stay. It changed it to a non refundable date and booking. Instead of the 4th, it made it the q8th. Pretty hard to be my error, so i was forced to pay for it, even though i cancelled immediatly. So, last night, the 18th, the room was empty, never checked into, but paid for anyway

Room had roach in bathroom, front door is broke, too much to list

This room was very comfortable. I believe it was one of the recently renovated ones, but there were some little oddities with it, like weird light switch set ups, odd paint patches, and shades that didn't quite block the sun. Regardless, the bed was wonderful, the AC worked amazing, and the water pressure and temperature were fabulous. The parking lots stays LIT BRIGHTLY all night long which make the location feel more secure in an otherwise not so great part of town. Will absolutely stay again!

I expected more from La Quinta, based on past experiences, but this stay will make me more hesitant to stay in the future. The room appeared to be clean but the entire floor was sticky and greasy which made me soubt the cleanliness of the bed which made for a very uncomfortable night. The staff didn't ask about my stay which is customary, so I didn't give my feedback.

Shower had a couple areas of Thick black mold, there was a Pinkish mold around entire inside & outside of the shower, there was that pinkish colored mold up the side of the glass door, urine down the front of the toilet I always bring a black light & mens uring lights up, The floor was dirty, found a dead roach under the chair & broken crackers, the bathroom door was worn looked old. Employees were very nice & the MGR. got our shower bleached & toilet cleaned right away. Bed was comfortable. They say they remodeled but all they did was slap on a coat of paint you can tell its very noticeable.

Our hotel rooms were situated upstairs, they were impeccably clean and comfortable, with a few minor issues with the lights, but these were swiftly rectified. The breakfast was of excellent quality and freshness. Their location is ideal, right on the main street, offering a wide array of dining options within a short stroll. A pleasant stay overall.

Great stay right by I 40!

I tried for a reservation for the fourth, went thru expedia. Ended up with a reservation on the 18th, non refundable, canceled the "pay upon arrival" res for the 4th, got billed for 28th, and believe it or not, billed for the fourth also, even though i cancelled it by phone AND email, toped off by yet a third charge, at 1:50AM, OF $#&. As far as im concerned, never again for eithier. 2 room charges and a deposit charge, and NEVER SET FOOT ON PROPERTY.

Bed was comfortable, The area had homeless and the building was run down. But thank goodness the bed was comfortable.

I have a disabled wife, I messaged prior with the need for a more disability friendly room and closer to the lobby, unfortunately I received neither.

They didn’t do anything and it’s still waiting in process to be honest this is awful. No one has a $50 payment and they still don’t do that. You should call and get this resolved. Showing in service and everything. This is awful but thank you. I hope you can resolve it.

Nice property for a motel. Room was good. No mold that we seen, smelled nice and clean. Breakfast was great, better than expected.

It’s run down and older. The phone to call the desk didn’t work. There were paint spots on the floors. I purchased one room on Expedia but needed 3 rooms. I asked about matching my rate from Expedia but was charged more. There was another one on the other side of town and I wished I had stayed there. It was much cleaner.

Small bathroom

I took my Girl Scouts on a trip and stayed here. There wasn't an elevator so if you were unfortunate enough to get a room on the 2nd floor you had better have packed light. Staff was friendly and beds were comfortable. Breakfast room was small.. not really enough space for our group. Reserved rooms that were supposed sleep 5 but only had room for 4. We had to get an extra room to house us all.

Our quick overnight stay was pleasant and satisfactory for our needs. However one of our two rooms had a lingering cigarette smoke odor. That was a bit disappointing as all were advertised as non smoking.

Room was large, but very sparsely furnished. Not very comforting or inviting. Our son slept in the front room. He said the sofa bed was very uncomfortable. There were glass doors between the front room and the bedroom with no curtains, so no privacy. The blinds in both room were practically see-thru. They did not block light AT ALL. We could see the street lights and neon lights from the neighboring businesses. I suspect that with the inside lights on, people from outside can probably see in. The hotel is not in the greatest area. As far as cleanliness, I’d give it a 5/10. Breakfast was ok: standard waffles, yogurt and cereal.

Easy to get to. Not too bad given the cost and area. Great for easy overnight off highway. It is loud as it’s right next to highway.
