Spark by Hilton Amarillo Western Plaza

Thin walls. Rowdy guests slamming doors and partying in the pool until 1am. Our room had exposed outlets and a toilet that rocked back and forth when you sat down. The room was good sized and the bed was very comfortable. We didn't get breakfast as there was not a seat open. Husband noted that the gym had a couple of machines that were not working. We will skip this one next time.

We live the stay at Spark by Hilton. It looks like they just had a renovation that everything looked fresh and new. Our room was very roomy with a sofa. My husband loved this place. Breakfast was just a OK, that they just had boiled eggs for protein.

Surprisingly great hotel for the price. Valerie was very friendly at the front desk. We had a very large, clean room, the hotel was very nice. Breakfast was not amazing but it was good. The location was quiet and convenient, just off the interstate, a good stop for traveling.

Highly recommend this Spark Hilton location. One of the best.

The only problem is that we stayed 1 night! Everything was amazing. Valerie was super friendly and helpful, she made the process very smooth. The room was extremely spacious, more than the average hotel room. We would definitely come back!

A clean & quiet place to stay. We skipped the breakfast - not much to pick from. No coffee maker in room but still a nice place to stay.

Good location, clean and close to activities

There were bugs in the room (3) black ones. We didn’t ask for handicap room but that’s what they gave us. Shower with open areas and a seat that took up space we didn’t want. Breakfasts only had hard boiled eggs, dried out bagels, orange juice that was empty and not refilled, bruised bananas and old apples. I’m not a picky eater, as I’ve eaten plenty of military chow but for the money I paid (twice as much as the one on the way to Missouri) this wasn’t what I expected.

Good location to go to Palo Duro Canyon. Microwave broke but was quickly replaced. Pet fee is exorbitant for an economy hotel. Room was nice though I hate to see carpet in a pet friendly room.

The location was great, staff so friendly and personable. My room was clean and bedding pillows very comfy. I had a two-night stay and spent a lot of time in my room. Excellent experience at the front desk. will definitely stay again if in the Amarillo TX area.

Nice stay clean and reasonable price

Next morning found the shampoo dispenser would not dispense shampoo. Shared concern at the front desk on the way out. They indicated house keeping would handle. Upon return found replacement refrigerator in the room and it was working. Great! Phone had been moved to another location in the room and had a cord, but still did not work. Shampoo dispenser still did not dispense shampoo. Walked to front desk and shared about phone and shampoo. They indicated they would be taken care of. Next evening, checking upon return, phone still did not work and shampoo dispenser still did not dispense shampoo. Again shared with the front desk on my way out following morning that shampoo dispenser still did not dispense shampoo. They stated house keeping would handle. The next morning the shampoo dispenser still did not dispense shampoo. The food provided for breakfast was as expected. The information about breakfast was well conveyed and accurate. There is too little room air exchange. Odors held in room. While louvers in bathroom ceiling are evident, no air flow out of toilet/shower area. All steam remained in bathroom until door was propped open. Very bad.

Room was very clean, comfortable, and very big. Staff was amazing. And for breakfast a little scrambled eggs and bacon would have been nice. But I won’t complain, I’d stay there if ever needed again.

Seriously…. What hotel doesn’t have at least lukewarm powdered eggs and that SOS gravy and sausage. Ridiculous to walk downstairs and see that as “breakfast.”

The room and grounds were very clean. Staff friendly and courteous. We were put in a handicapped accessible room with roll in power, my only suggestion would be to have a slip proof floor instead of the tile, or a rubber mat. The shower sprays all over the floor outside of the shower creating a bad slip risk. We ended up using the towels to put down on the floor.

The room was spacious, quiet, and clean. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of parking and an EV charger. It was within walking distance of a great barbecue restaurant. Breakfast was adequate with healthy options. The coffee was really good.

We stayed at the Amarillo, Texas property on May 22-23, 2026. The front desk representative I believe her name was Vivian....was the sweetest person I have ever met. She was so helpful with every question we had and was very personable and just a delight to speak too. She should be commended for how she treats each customer that enters your doors as she does with the best personality and guidance, just a sweet sweet soul. Spacious rooms! Included breakfast is “lite” continental, but was enough to tide us over until we stopped somewhere else. We checked in very late the night we stayed but we were still greeted with a welcoming smile and much helpfulness from the girl at the front desk.

The key card had to be reset the first 3 days I was there (because it stopped working at 11 am), they finally fixed it for the last 2 days). For the price I can’t complain too much. Felt safe and they were pet friendly.

Remember that Sparks is the low end tier of Hilton. You don't get the expensive furnishings like in other Hilton hotels. There's no coffee maker in the room. But the room is clean and very spacious. Towels are good. Breakfast is continental breakfast which is fine by me. They make sure the coffee pots are always full. The bread items, cereal, and fruits are decent. The price was great. Staff was super friendly.

The staff were very friendly and courteous. The room was quite large and accommodating. We would have liked to use the pool area but just didn’t have the time. We would definitely stay here again. It was very convenient.

Check in was easy and front desk person wonderful. I stayed their for one night 2 weeks prior and she remembered me.

Room size Room smelt musky. We found an old receipt from four days ago on the sofa bed which means the room wasn't cleaned before we arrived. Hence chose not to use the sofa bed . There were strands of hair on one of the beds too. Couldn't capture a picture.

After a long day of driving the staff was friendly and accommodating. I would suggest music as it creates a nice vibe and energy. (There was no music) I noticed the lights were off in the dining room. That’s not inviting and makes you wonder.

Property seemed to be overall maintained, but our room had ants, a used bar of soap in the shower, a used napkin in the closet and hair in the floor and on the counter of the bathroom. Our bathroom was also out of body wash and had 2 conditioners instead of 1 and a shampoo. I had to retrieve a shampoo from the front desk. We only stayed a night, would not stay again.

The bed was ultra comfortable and after driving for 9 hours we needed that!! This Hotel is very pet friendly - no extra charge for our two little Yorkies. We all were exceptionally comfortable, made to feel welcome from the beginning, and will definitely stay here again when we pass through Amarillo!!

I was pleasantly surprised by my first stay at a Spark by Hilton. The hotel had a modern vibe. Very helpful receptionist and staff working the breakfast were nice. Clean rooms that were surprisingly large. I would recommend if you are in Amarillo.

The room was big and spacious. The AC worked good, and the TV was nice. The breakfast was disappointing. It was only cereals, pastries, yogurt, and breads. There were no proteins. Not a good meal for diabetics. We chose an accessible room with a shower. There was no curtain on the shower, which made a huge mess in the rest of the bathroom. The shower wall material was pulling away from the structural wall, leaving a large gap for moisture intrusion. On our way to checkout we observed a large cockroach making it's way toward the breakfast area.

This stay was in the top ten for my family. It had adequate space for all of us.

The gym was meh/ok. Had a cable machine but no handles. The breakfast was nothing but sugar and high carbs; cereals, donuts, bagels, etc. Nothing hot and no proteins. But the facility and room was great. Close to dining that delivers too. All in all I was glad I chose this place to stay.

Our room was missing the remote. The guy at the front desk brought one up to our room quickly. This morning a woman from the kitchen brought out hot breakfast sausage to go with the cheese omelette. Good service! We like to sleep cool and the AC worked out well.

Everything from check-in to the stay in a beautiful, spacious well prepared room to the checkout was perfect. My wife and I stayed only one night as we were traveling but commented we hope our next place to stay was this nice. I’d highly recommend this place to my friends and family if they ever travel this way.

Terrible hotel. The walls are paper thin, the staff is ineffective when it comes to addressing ongoing, middle of the night nose issues, there was no water available in the rooms (including toilets) when we checked in, and no enforcement of hygiene standards in the breakfast area. It’s a poorly managed dump.

My vehicle was tampered with through the night, which I think it was actually the front desk clerk he got mad at me because I waited for 15 2030 minutes. Something like that went to eat came back. He said he was only gone 10 minutes that that wasn't the truth, then my truck was messed with.

Loved everything about this place - clean, spacious rooms, comfy beds, well-lit parking, tasty breakfast and very friendly staff - except the single use plastics at breakfast. It is 2026. Microplastics aside, have we not all seen the floating plastic islands by now? Some hotels have shifted to corn-based or more biodegradable single use flatware. Still, I would stay here again.

The room was clean, and there is a $50 fee for your furry companion. Please select only the first or second level if you are traveling with a pet. I stayed during a hailstorm, and a fellow guest mentioned that her dog was frightened by the noise on the roof caused by heavy rain. During a previous visit passing through Amarillo, I stayed at Tru, and I find that Tru is more modern and European in style; the rooms are smaller but fully equipped and attractive. In contrast, Spark offers more space and has a classic, larger-room feel. This location is conveniently within walking distance of a pet store, which is ideal for travelers with pets. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. When I requested hot water, they responded promptly. I was also traveling and needed a restful stay, so I give high marks for quietness. I would definitely stay here again if I am in the area. I love Hilton! ❤️

Just needed a place to sleep while traveling thru Amarillo, Tx, but was way more than expected!! Very big and roomy…Looked more like a suite with 2 queen beds and a separate little living space with a sofa and it was very affordable!! I highly recommend!! 😃

Since the property is not visible until after you pass, it drivers will have to do another loop-de-loo Uber the freeway to get back to it.

The breakfast menu was OK. I just wish they hadn’t got rid of the waffles. And the staff was asking all kinds of questions since we had booked through Expedia, but we’ve booked through them every time we stay there. I don’t know what the issue was this time.

Yes, we went with a group of 21 persons, from diferent churches and ages, and the managers help me change the names of the rooms and she has a good attitude and working with us to resolve the problems at the diferents rooms of the group. We are thankful for that and appreciate the good actitudes of the staff

If you are going to have the lobby TVs going full blast 24-hours, might be best to choose a channel that is not so overtly political. Maybe, Hone and Garden TV would be more suitable? Hard to hold down breakfast with screaming, snarky talking heads. Just a thought.

This was an excellent choice for our adult and kid free weekend. The atmosphere was great and you felt welcome from the moment you stepped in. The rooms were spacious and well maintained. The beds were comfortable allowing for an incredible night's rest. I will be staying here again on my visits to Amarillo. Even though, this trip I didn't have my children with me, I would bring them with me and not feel awkward bringing them. Thanks for an incredible stay.

Room was spacious and clean but did not contain a coffee maker in the room. This forced guest to dress and go down to breakfast area to obtain two coffees to bring back to room using the elevator buttons and room keys. Awkward first thing in the morning.

My daughter and I were placed in a ADA room which we did not request. A very large room, but not really ready for guests. The shower head was cracked and water sprayed out everywhere. The tub plumbing was loose in the wall. Repairs in the bath room were not complete. When I questioned the desk clerk about us in this 3rd floor ADA room, her comment was you have a dog (19lbs) and it is close to the elevator. In addition, other hotel pet fee for this size dog was $25. Here it is $50. Also we had no drinking cups. The new look is great...need attention to room details

I didn’t get a chance to stay here as they wouldn’t move my date up 1 day and said that Expedia was the one that needed to handle. Hilton said there was nothing they could do since I booked thru Expedia and that Expedia gets the non-refundable $$$. I call bs.

This was our second stay. Like last time, the room was very clean and then furnishings were all newer. Staff is very nice, particularly the woman who works in the evenings.

We arrived late, but the staff was kind enough to let us enjoy the pool and hot tub, a perk most hotels wouldn’t allow. It felt wonderful to relax in the hot tub after a long day. The hotel has also been recently updated and renovated, which made the stay even better. I truly enjoyed my experience here and will definitely be coming back.

In the area there appears to be plenty of restaurant options. It is easily accessible off the major highway and easily accessible from the surface streets around. Property is clean. The staff is very nice, my room is in excellent shape. I'm very very happy with my choice

When we arrived our forat room had no ac. It would get to about 74 and then start climbing. They put us in a second room and it did the same exact thing. But the second room had a hige spot on the carpet that was soaking wet. It took the front desk lady almost an hour to get us in to a third room that finally had a working AC. We stay in amarillo at least once a year and this will be the first and last time we stay here. We will be going back to the Tru by hilton.

Our stay was good. Clean, safe, convenient, and very affordable. The night staff was not well trained and messed up our rooms then over charged me for them. However, once the issue was brought to a manager’s attention everything was set right without trouble or delay. I appreciated that. Everyone was nice about it, as well.

Horrible staff

Like the lobby with table we were able to play dominoes. We chose this for return trip stop since we stayed here on start of trip. The desk person recognized us from last weeks check in.

When walking in the door, the hotel had a bad income. The property allowed us to book a room but had no vacancy when we arrived. We were charged but unable to stay there.

Late night find but the price was good compare to others in the area so we booked it. Fast and friendly service. Spacious and clean room. Comfy beds. Can’t complain.

I saw the welcome gift on counter but was not offered one. I liked the hotel. I was much better than some I’ve stayed it. It seemed newish. We are passing through again on our way back from Colorado and we already booked this hotel again.

Great overnight stay, room had so much space to move around in. Beds were comfortable, no issues.

Check in was great. Staff was friendly and helpful. Walls are rather thin and you can hear the people in next room easily.

Very convenient for a stop between destinations. Staff was kind and helpful, breakfast was replenished frequently. Room was clean and had enough towels for everyone.

This place is very noisy. kids are running around above us. we have called the front desk a few times, but did not solve this problem. There are dogs running wild on the Hall Way and the elevator, Not enough staff here to care about the guests' sleep. How shame is calling them as Spark by Hilton.
