Reviews
The hotel is generally praised for its cleanliness, comfortable rooms, and friendly staff. The location is also frequently mentioned as a positive aspect, being close to downtown and various amenities. However, some guests have issues with the breakfast not being included or being overpriced, and a few have had problems with noise from neighboring rooms or outside.

The hotel was great, clean rooms that have been remodeled. Hotel looks like in middle of renovation and staff were very kind and helpful. We stayed in the king suite which is perfect for a couple with a teenager. Gives them there space.

Don't stay here, at least not until their construction is complete. We typically like Courtyard by Marriot, but this time was not a good experience. When we arrived, the parking lot was full of construction debris, even nails. There were only a few spaces available. I understand that properties need to be renovated, but they should at least clean up the parking lot of garbage so guests can park without fear of getting nails in our tires, but that's only the beginning. We went to the bar to have a drink, the worker didn't speak English and wasn't able to make a proper Margarita, not a big deal. That night, when we went to bed (10P), we heard people partying in the parking lot and playing music. I called the front desk, but the room phone didn't work, so I went down to the front desk to make the hotel was aware of the situation, but the clerk stated that these were the construction workers and that's what they do after work. She told me that they stay there as well. The construction workers were not speaking English, and when I tried to speak with them, they didn't understand me. On the way back to my room, I was confronted by a transvestite prostitute in the stairwell, speaking the same language as the construction workers. Obviously, Marriot supports the hiring of non-American workers, who end up behaving in a manner that diminishes their paying guests of a reasonably quiet Hotel room. How would you like to be confronted by a transvestite late at night in a stairwell?
- 3/5
The property is under renovation, so parking is limited and entrance is through a tunnel of plywood. The lobby was full of construction materials. The room I was first given had only been partially cleaned, the second room had several items that did not work (refrigerator/phone). In the end, I was moved back to the first room but had to wait in the hall for the first room to be cleaned. I would not recommend this hotel until the construction is completed. As an added comment, the Springhill Suites next door is also renovating.
- 3/5
This place will be decent after the renovations are completed. Right now I don't recommend staying there. The business center was taped off and not available. A side exterior door was left propped open at night. An open half used 40 oz malt liquor bottle was left in the stairwell near that open door. There appeared to be a lot of homeless people in the area. The room was very clean and nice. The bathroom/shower were also nice.
- 5/5
there was no breakfast, though and that was a bummer.
- 1/5
Not worth the price!
- 0.5/5
- Prepaid reservations were not honored, sent us next door to Spring Hill Suites where we were charged again The least that should've been done is to have been contacted beforehand and fully refunded.
- 3/5
All pillows were soft and we were not able to get comfortable after attempting to switch out pillows. Suggest having variety of soft, medium and firm. Room was clean.
- 3.5/5
Construction work which caused the water to be shut off for a period of time somewhat dampened stay
- 4/5
We liked the location of the hotel. It was very quiet and pleasant. An extra bonus was having Carrabbas across the parking lot. Did not like having to order breakfast. Breakfast was okay but prefer the buffet breakfasts. The counter person was very nice.
- 3/5
The included breakfast was not available even though it was included in our purchase. All that was available was a counter. We were accounting for the breakfast for our family trip. Will not likely stay at that location again.
- 5/5
Convenient. N/a
- 4/5
The staff was very courteous. My kids loved the pool.
- 5/5
The stay was great When we pay the extra for breakfast, it should include the number of people you are booking for.
- 5/5
No Mountain View just parking lot and Carraba’s
- 5/5
Everything was perfect. We’ve stayed here multiple times for our anniversary weekend, and it never disappoints. We are always comfortable and happy here.
- 5/5
We expected free coffee in the foyer in the morning.
- 1/5
When I made the reservation, it was breakfast included and I had three people in the room and when we went to breakfast we were informed that they do not include breakfast, then after 10 minutes of going back and forth they honored one person.
- 5/5
Great service
- 5/5
The location was great, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the food was good, and the view was fantastic right from the couch inside the room. :) I loved everything. The shower could have been a little cleaner though.
- 5/5
Clean
- 4.5/5
Thought i had booked a room with complement breakfast but when we went down Thursday morning was told we had to pay for breakfast
- 5/5
Service was great. Allowed up early check in.
- 2.5/5
Room smelled of smoke although rooms have been non smoking for quite a while. The air conditioner wouldn't run continuously. It also didn't cool. We tried 67 degrees and it constantly cut off for long periods and was hot.
- 5/5
Location to Biltmore. Walk to Carabas Tricky to turn onto highway when leaving
- 4.5/5
Price, clean spacious room
- 3/5
The room.was fine, the big issue was the guy cutting down trees outside our room at 730am today. Really? And then the boom truck backs up and is left running , could smell the exhaust in oir room. We checked out.
- 4/5
Courteous staff and clean room
- 5/5
We did not have breakfast on site. We were aware of it but our planned schedule had us eating out for meals. Everything was wonderful and the staff was very kind and helpful. Our room was clean, quite, spacious and very comfortable. Parking was excellent and location to the Biltmore and other attractions we visited the area was great. There really was nothing to state that we were not pleased with.
- 5/5
The staff was superb all around in the hotel. Helpful, courteous, pleasant and very personable. Cleanliness of hotel. Hotel accommodations. Ease of check in and check out. The mattress was super comfortable. Large tv.
- 0.5/5
Nothing
- 5/5
When we got there the TV wasn't working, but the staff were extremely accommodating and it was fixed immediately. The floors were just shampooed, but they warned us about it when we checked in, and it was dry by the time we left. The pool was delightful, and the room was lovely. The couch and bed were comfortable, the linens well presented, and I liked the soap and shampoo selection. The high ceilings made a bit of an echo whenever a door opened or closed, which made it harder to sleep, but otherwise we really enjoyed the room.
- 5/5
Nice and quiet. Very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful! Will definitely be staying here again!
- 4/5
Staff cleaning outside of bldg kepy their equipment in the handicap parking spots. We needed to use one this morning and not avaliable.
- 5/5
The rooms were very clean. Service at the restaurant was sketchy. But they did manage it in the end. Everyone was very nice. I was able to charge everything to my room which made things very convenient. My pup was welcomed with open paws. I would go back.
- 5/5
great place to stay. Clean and staff is wonderful.

- 3.5/5
The property was in a good location and very clean The front desk needs to work on more friendly customer service. I am referring to the day shift. The night shift front desk was very pleasant and helpful.
- 4/5
I was a disappointed in the mountain view from our balcony. It was a parking lot view. Staff was helpful and polite.
- 3/5
The room was clean and it was nice that you could buy Starbucks coffee there. It said we would have a Mountain view. We did not and told the guy who checked us in. He moved us to another room on the other side of the hall that he said had a view. It did not. There is not Mountain View at all at this hotel. It’s just trees and then we were by the dumpster. Picture is of our view.
- 5/5
The property was very well maintained and very clean. The housekeeping staff was very attentive and the front desk personnel were very polite and helpful.
- 2/5
We paid extra for a wooded view balcony, they gave the room away and didnt have a good tuition for us. The receptionist offered a free night as compensation.
- 1/5
The photos on the booking page are not the same photos of the property. There are mountain views from this hotel. The only view you will have is that of the Carrabba’s and the other hotels in the parking lot. The hotel is not in the best part of Asheville with tons of homeless individuals around and a homeless shelter across the street from the entrance. I would not recommend this hotel if you’re traveling alone or with children. We did not feel safe and checked out shortly after checking in.
- 5/5
Excellent stay! Clean, friendly staff, my only complaint is that the bed was quite hard but overall I would recommend this Marriott.
- 5/5
Nice clean room, plenty of clean towels and nice amenities
- 5/5
Very nice stay.
- 4/5
The property had a very limited breakfast selection. The food was very overpriced. The staff was nice but the visit was ok. Nothing special.
- 5/5
Nice property. Very attentive staff and room was very clean.
- 5/5
The staff when we arrived were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, clean and the beds were very comfortable. We didn't eat at the hotel, however there is an Italian restaurant right next door that was delicious. The indoor pool was clean and the outside fire pit area was very nice. The checkout was easy and they even gave me a snack for the road.
- 5/5
Nice clean hotel. Close to downtown. A little disappointed that the Starbucks and the bar wasn’t available but the first day we got there.
- 4/5
A good value. Perfectly acceptable. Comfortable bed, clean room, great indoor pool. I would stay there again. The only negative is that the surrounding are looks like it’s going downhill. We didn’t feel unsafe, however
- 5/5
everything was good, clean
- 2/5
It was ok except they were very unaccommodating when we told them there was a booking mistake that had us checking out a day earlier than I booked. We were forced to pay out for another hotel room to the tune of over a hundred dollars. NOT VERY HAPPY ABOUT IT.
- 5/5
My stay was so amazing I had no issues very quiet and peaceful highly recommend
- 5/5
This was a great hotel
- 5/5
Staff was friendly and the room was very clean. Location is conveniently located.
- 4/5
The overall stay was perfect for my family’s needs. However, at check-in, our card was charged twice for the stay, and that really messed up our travel budget. When I pointed it out to the hospitality person at the desk, I was informed that there was only one hold, and there wasn’t anything that could be done. This was not true. Our financial institution was still showing two holds for the amount of the room. I was also told that once our charges were settled on the day of checkout, that all holds were to be dropped. This also was not true. The clerk stated that it could take 2 to 5 days for the hold to be released depending on our financial institution. I had our bank on the phone with me at the time of checkout so that they could release the second hold on our card. They were not able to do so, and when I brought this to the attention of the clerk, once again, I was told there was nothing they could do. There was a sign on the desk that stated exactly what the clerk was saying, that it could take 2 to 5 days to release the whole, depending on the financial institution. This is false. Even with my financial institution on the phone with me at the time of checkout, the holds were not released. This whole situation with being charged double really upset and frustrated me. Our family had to cut our vacation short due to it since all of our travel funds were being held, and our financial institution could do nothing from their end since it was being held by the hotel.
- 5/5
The hotel and room were immaculate. The bed was super comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay.
- 2/5
Had no wi-fi for 2 days in my room. Had NO problems at next door Marriott Homesuites or at I-hop Staff said it must be my cell. Staff was not aware lobby had no outlets I wilk never stay at a Marriot again. I also had to sign up for Bonvoy when I booked. So it seems they charge customers for wi-fi. No other hotels charge. Staff was polite and tried to help.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean hotel and room. Nice little pool area. Would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
I loved the amenities. Close to everything we needed for our stay.
- 5/5
Booked the hotel last minute. Loved the place and it was very clean. They had a pool and exercise equipment which I used. Staff was very friendly will definitely return.
- 5/5
Great spot.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
We loved this property! The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and updated, there is a Carrabba’s next door and a Starbucks in the lobby! It was everything that I could have wanted!
- 5/5
Very nice hotel! Would definitely recommend and stay here again
- 5/5
We had a great stay while in town volunteering. This was a clean hotel and the staff was polite and helpful. The room was well appointed and clean. The beds are very comfortable.
- 5/5
I booked a room with a balcony overlooking the woods, very peaceful. The pool was clean. The bed was comfy and overall just a really great stay!
- 5/5
Great place to stay.
- 5/5
Friendly staff clean and welcoming area
- 4/5
Easy to drive to anywhere around town from this location! Clean, comfortable, and quiet. However no breakfast included in the nightly fee and basic items for purchase overpriced. Shower pressure was extremely high with no lower setting available despite a control knob on side of showerhead (impossible to shower without getting hair wet from overspray). Would still stay here again though when reasonably priced.
- 5/5
Very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful
- 5/5
We had a great stay at the Courtyard by Marriott, Ashville. The property is clean and situated in a quiet, wooded area just minutes from downtown with ample parking. Parking downtown is tricky and a bit pricey but that's to be expected in a touristy area. They have a small restaurant and bar next to the lobby and there is a good restaurant right next door. I love that they are very dog-friendly! We saw some incredible wildlife which was an amazing experience. The staff was attentive, helpful and accommodating. Would definitely stay there again!
- 5/5
Bed was not made. Floor was not swept because debris was found. Tissues and toilet paper had to be replaced by us. Desk people were wonderful and gave great advice on local restaurants.
- 5/5
Staff was great. Bartender poured a great old fashioned. Pool was a nice respite.
- 5/5
Love staying here, staff is great and the rooms clean.
- 5/5
Professional workers
- 5/5
Breakfast service
- 5/5
Location was ideal, close enough to travel to downtown and get to the state park. Hotel room was spacious and clean
- 5/5
Our room was very comfortable and clean. Great location. Nicely landscaped grounds. The treadmills were great. The breakfast was a bit pricey. The cafe staff a bit clueless, but very friendly and nice. Hotel staff were also very kind!
- 4/5
I wasn't made aware of the $100 pet fee until the morning of our arrival. Supposedly a message was sent 3 days before our arrival. Not received, I checked spam & deleted.
- 4/5
All good
- 5/5
Thought it was downtown.
- 3/5
We stayed for 2 nights and first of all it was find the location of this hotel. There was no clear sign on the road. So I was going round and round to find the property. I did not book handycap room though I was given one. The front desk lady did not tell us that she is giving us this room. I did not complain as I checked in at midnight and was very tired.
- 5/5
Awesome hotel! Was clean, quiet, easy in and out, and service was excellent. This is my go-to hotel for Asheville for sure!
- 3/5
Everything was ok except the a/c didn't work very well. Overall not too bad, but nothing great. Best thing is that, it was really clean.
- 5/5
Friendly staff; share important information
- 5/5
Great hotel.close to eeryting owntown Asheville. Restraunt and bar on premise, food is very good and the staff is amazing and acomadate. Best Mariott I've ever stayed in.
- 5/5
The perfect quiet place ! Small enough to be friendly and accommodating.
- 4/5
Hotel was clean, staff was friendly, facility was good. Breakfast is not included and the hotel cafe was very expensive.
- 5/5
Raven @ the bistro made our family feel like we were at home. She was great!!
- 5/5
Room was very comfortable and the staff went above and beyond to make certain our stay was comfortable. Would highly recommend
- 5/5
Very friendly staff
- 5/5
Loved the property; however, the Travelocity booking indicated breakfast for the two of us were included. When we went downstairs to eat, we were told by the restaurant staff and front desk staff that the breakfast wasn’t included and we would have to pay. Disappointing!!! I will ask for the manager when we return from the excursion and call Travelocity.
- 4/5
The staff were very friendly and focused on customer service. It’s so nice to be helped by people who seem to love their jobs and want to go above and beyond for their customers.
- 5/5
Enjoyed our stay will book next year again
- 5/5
Prepared food and a bar
- 4/5
Location is quiet and facility is clean. Wasn't impressed with the restaurant/bar.
- 5/5
Only downside is the walls and floors were paper thin. You could hear everything going on around you.
- 5/5
Outstanding staff, beautiful and spacious rooms, updated. Super nice lobby with bar, indoor pool and just a few minutes drive to Biltmore!
- 5/5
Everyone was real hellful- ex getting me decaf tea bags.
- 5/5
Great room and services but walls are paper thin!
- 5/5
Always a good experience.
- 5/5
Close to places to eat and hospitals
- 5/5
Everything was fantastic, that’s why we like staying at your properties
- 3/5
Poor maintenance and poor room and furniture condition.
- 5/5
The front desk staff and Regina at the bar were so friendly and so helpful. Such a pleasant experience interacting with them. From answering numerous questions about the area to helping us get a stubborn wine bottle open, they were patient and eager to assist. Will definitely stay here again when coming back to the area. Loved our balcony room facing the woods as well.
- 5/5
Great place the food amazing and the bartender Regina amazing wish I can stay longer must have the meat balls and wings
- 5/5
We did not use the grill primarily because they serve Starbucks
- 5/5
The staff was very personable and engaged. It was a delight to interact with them.
- 4/5
The place is nice, but the sound proofing between floors and neighbors wasn't so great. Can hear TV, people walking upstairs, talking, and neighbors snoring come through at night. Little hard to find but good location.
- 4/5
Did not like the bathroom vanity was too small.
- 5/5
Clean. Efficient check in. Clean room.
- 4/5
I thought the price was a good price. Wasn’t happy about the cleanliness of some spaces in the room
- 5/5
Everything
- 1/5
We’re staying there the 18th we’re still home.
- 5/5
This hotel is great, its next to several other nice options as well so you can shop for the best price.
- 5/5
the front desk staff was friendly and helpful.. the beds are very comfortable.
- 5/5
Clean and safe
- 4/5
The noise from other younger occupants stayed there and their large dogs barking at night should have had pet restrictions. Other than those issues, I think it will have some impacting improvements by our next visit.
- 4/5
The property and surrounding area were very nice. The backyard and fire pit are nice. My only complaint: I would like a firmer mattress.
- 4/5
I loved that it was so close to a restaurant
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay the breakfast was delicious would recommend this hotel
- 5/5
Nice and clean! Easy to find bc it was around a lot of hotels. Pleasant staff. I would def stay there again.
- 4/5
Great location , staff friendly and willing to help . Clean up to date furnishings. Bar and kitchen both good . I would recommend to anyone
- 5/5
Tyra and Regina at the bar were awesome. So friendly. Best conversation and service in quite a while. Can't wait to go back.
- 5/5
The room was nice and clean as are all my stays at a Marriot hotel. Always great staff. I have to say though I like this Asheville Marriot better than the Hickory one. And the Hickory one is Awesome too.
- 3/5
Tile floors were dirty and sticky in common areas and the room bathroom. Someone needs to learn how to mop floors.
- 5/5
Awesome experience all around
- 5/5
Nice place, dog friendly.
- 5/5
It was a comfortable standard hotel room, actually pretty roomy. Quiet even though off if busy road.
- 5/5
Very clean but wish the Swimming Pool had warmer water. It was chilly
- 5/5
Great choice for our stay
- 5/5
Excellent stay! Clean, friendly staff, great central location!
- 3/5
Did not clean room or replace used towels.
- 5/5
The room was very comfortable and the employees were friendly.
- 5/5
Have a pet and the bottom floor had access to the outside from the porch. Was very nice.
- 5/5
The room was nice, and everything was convenient. I wish there were more baked goods options for breakfast like muffins, pastries etc.
- 5/5
I was in town one night for a concert at the Diana Wortham Theater in downtown Asheville. This hotel was a quick 5-minute drive to downtown and so worked out well. Hotel is clean, convenient, and safe.
- 5/5
The front desk receptionist was very pleasant, we told her the reason for our stay and she informed use there was a slight chance of rain,l since we were going to an outside event.. The room was extremely clean and well taken care of. I can't say anthing negative about this hotel. If I ever stay in Asheville again, I most definitely will stay there again.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly, we received an early check in, our room was perfect. This will be our hotel for every Asheville visit.
- 5/5
Nice room for working
