Reviews
The hotel is praised for its central location, large rooms, and historic charm. However, some guests express dissatisfaction with the service, particularly at the front desk, and minor inconveniences such as lack of hot water and noise.

Very clean and convenient for walking downtown Asheville; no self parking, so you have to use Valet, but very nice staff.
- 5/5
Convenient location
- 5/5
Very nice room.
- 5/5
Clean rooms comfortable, staff exceptional and very quiet!
- 3/5
Fabulous location in the center of everything, but the hotel has seen better days. Elevators broken during our entire stay. Mildewed carpets in places. We had to walk down steps to the lobby if we wanted ice in our ice buckets. No restaurant on the premises. Despite this, the staff is helpful and friendly and we walked to all the attractions except The Biltmore, which is a 10 minute drive away.
- 3/5
I have always wanted to stay in this hotel and finally made it happen. My husband and I wanted a weekend getaway to unwind and have some peace and quiet. I was extremely disappointed that no one told us our room was over a bar that had a really loud live band playing. I really can’t express my overall disappoint, especially for a place that I’ve always wanted to stay. I don’t understand why such a nice hotel would allow that.
- 5/5
One of the roomiest and most comfortable hotels we’ve ever stayed. This is our Asheville go-to hotel
- 3/5
I requested some form of reimbursement for this difficulty. I have not heard back. The AC was difficult to locate in the room, the room never got very cool. There is no thermostat for the mini fridge, so food/drinks are only cool, not cold.
- 4/5
Great location, valet parking you won’t need car, clean room, only negative unfortunately elevator out of operation, and noisy alley but that’s downtown .
- 5/5
The room was amazing as well as the staff. They had valet which was amazing also, once I figured out how to control the A/C it was great.
- 5/5
Recently renovated. Very large approximately 1000 square feet. Great room amenities. Only problem was the elevator was out of service, but that's no fault of the hotel.
- 5/5
Front desk staff was fantastic. Upgraded to a beautiful king suite! Restaurant not open during week, although many close enough it really didn't hamper anything.
- 5/5
We ended up in the Cambria and it was fantastic
- 2/5
I really wanted to like this place, especially at the price, but I didn't sleep very well and virtually every service offered by the hotel is in disrepair. You're likely better off staying in a budget chain hotel and mile or 2 away.
- 4/5
It was a rocky start, but the wonderful morning front desk staff made it all ok.
- 2.5/5
The location is great. Hotel is dated. Our room seemed dusty. The flat Iron across the street was the same price.
- 5/5
Wonderful stay. Very helpful staff. Very clean
- 2/5
This is an old hotel that has not been updated. The staff was not willing to help us as the elevator was broken. We were left in a room that somebody had lived in with all the furniture scratched by cats and beat up wood I would not recommend staying in this location. Room was from the 90’s. In fairness, they were understaffed.
- 4/5
Nice as always
- 3.5/5
The location is spectacular and the price is decent compared to surrounding hotels. The bed and pillows are super comfortable and the room I had was HUGE. No water bottle refilling stations or water bottles offered. Also the carpet in the 4th floor hallway a bit musty, and the hotel is a bit dated but that reflects the pricing.
- 3/5
Everything in walking distance. TV situation could improve. Offer streaming over cable
- 5/5
Excellent location and walkability! Austin, and other front desk and employees were very friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Valet was fast to retrieve the car
- 4.5/5
The location was great, I was able to walk to just about anywhere in Asheville from there. The staff was very friendly and helpful, addressing any problems I had promptly while being very approachable. The bed and bathroom were in good condition, and I enjoyed the bathrobe provided. At other hotels I've stayed at they make it a big deal if the key cards are lost, but here the staff had no problem helping me out when I left them in my room accidentally or they were demagnetized. Some of the equipment was a little old, and I wish I knew about paying for parking before I arrived.
- 5/5
We wanted a nice weekend away and they gave us that. It was very elegant feeling but down to earth too. All the staff were friendly and helpful!
- 5/5
Everything was top notch!
- 2/5
Facilities/customer service
- 4.5/5
The room was wonderful. Lots of space, little kitchen area, beds were comfortable & pull out bed was perfect for us. It would have been nice to have bedding for the pull-out in the closet or something rather than having to ask for it. The hotel has no bottled water for sale in the vending machines. We had to get bottled water outside the hotel. Not the biggest deal but not convenient either. It looked like there is a restaurant, but it didn't seem to be open (?)
- 5/5
Large room and very comfortable bed.
- 1/5
Ok as soon as I checked in I got a room where bathtub did not work ( my reservation was for garden tub room). Then moved to room , no tub. Moved again , no tub each time I was moved I had to get all of my own stuff and bring it to front desk. I finally (at 1030 pm) just moved back to my original room where they got tub working but only hot water. Room was never touched in 4 days. No new towels, no garbage emptied On my last day they accidentally locked me out of my room. I asked for manager never “on site”. I will never stay at Haywood park hotel again and I come to Asheville frequently oh yes and no restaurant any more only open weekends😪
- 4/5
We got this room for the jetted tub. Everything looked good at first. Once I started running the water in the tub I found numerous pubic hairs floating in water. Then I noticed black dots on the walls of the shower/tub. Which came off when I wiped them. So I started the jets and black stuff shot out of the jets. That’s where the black dots came from I guess. So obviously the tub/shower/jets aren’t cleaned very well. Also might want to mop the tile floor in the bathroom water stains everywhere.
- 5/5
The staff was amazing and so friendly!!
- 5/5
Really interesting building and great staff
- 4/5
Our key needed to be replaced every day of our trip.
- 3/5
Our room was on the second floor and there was a very loud band playing the bar, which actually made it a bit difficult to get to sleep. Otherwise, the hotel was nice.
- 1/5
Amber, at check-in turned a horrible, stressful day into a total blessing. It had been a travel nightmare, (including Expedia canceling my hotel reservation without my knowledge (want my rating on Expedia? -2). It was well after 10:30 PM and no room. Amber made it better than all right.❤️
- 5/5
Great location! Friendly and helpful staff.
- 5/5
Loved the hotels downtown area. Room #307 was very nice other than the bathroom door didn’t close all the way. Staff was excellent. Will stay here again.
- 5/5
Our entire experience was marvelous! From the valet to counter we were very well taken care of. Complementary sparkling wine every day in the lobby and the ease of access with valet truly made us feel pampered. A room was magnificent and we will definitely choose to stay there again. The connecting doorway in the room allowed us to hear intimate relations happening next door
- 5/5
On Monday every restaurant around was closed. Not the Haywoods fault but be aware before giving your car to valet, I had a lovely dinner of Fritos and coke.
- 5/5
Great location. Well kept and historic. Friendly staff.
- 5/5
Right in the heart of downtown. Easy to walk to restaurants and shops.
- 3/5
Beautiful property that is extremely dated and in need of major updates and renovations now.
- 5/5
Great location and a friendly accommodating staff made for an excellent stay in a beautiful facility.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff. My only issue was the valet dropped my keys between the seat and console and didn't tell me. Took a while to locate them. Otherwise, it was a great weekend.
- 5/5
Room size
- 5/5
Tim at check in is always amazing and goes the extra mile
- 1.5/5
Always enjoy the stay, have been here many times. Usually, the staff is super helpful. On the last stay me and my wife wanted to extend our stay by one night. Unfortunately, we couldn't find it on booking.com. So, I asked Amber the manager on duty if she could help me with keeping the same room at the price from the night before. Now given this is during the beginning of the week, and was a slow period. But Amber wasn't even trying to hear me out and said she couldn't help me. I asked for a manager and she rudely told me that she was the manager. At that point me and my wife decided we didn't want to give them anymore of our hard earned money. We stay at this location and their other hotel, The Cambria in downtown Asheville. I wish I had got to speak with the other manager because she is very helpful and understanding. My recommendation is to make Yim the manager in her spot. He is amazing!!!
- 5/5
Great location and everything was great during the stay; size of the room, comfort of the bed, ac temp, cleanliness, check in and check out at reception, staff was incredibly nice and helpful too.
- 5/5
The room was clean and everything looks nice. There was no hotel bar or restaurant open while we were there.
- 4.5/5
Cleanliness No free breakfast
- 5/5
Wow and wow! I read that it was a great experience and it was true. Great spot, great room and great staff. This is my new go to for Asheville.
- 4/5
Really well located. Amazingly large rooms but no rugs. Restaurant /cafe not open so make a reservation in one of the fabulous nearby restaurants. Cool property (1920s department store) but could use an update for the new century
- 5/5
Location was fantastic, we could walk to shops, restaurants, music, and great night life venues. The staff were very helpful, kind, and friendly. I will definitely return. There wasn't anything I didn't like, but I think their showers could use a shelf for toiletries.
- 4.5/5
Location is the best
- 4/5
This hotel is right in downtown Asheville, near wonderful restaurants & terrific art collections, also the shops on Lexington Avenue. You can walk to everything (but need to drive to Biltmore Estate.) Haywood Park hotel was an historic Bon Marche department store so the rooms are spacious as are the hallways. Extremely helpful staff. Do be aware that if you have a car you will be required to use their Valet Parking which I mistakenly thought was $22 per day but which in fact was $22 every time you got your car out so that ended up being twice as expensive as I had expected.
- 5/5
Location was great! Need and pillows were very comfortable and the room was spacious!
- 5/5
The hotel and staff were Amazing. The only thing missing is a Bar/Restaurant to get a quick bite.
- 5/5
The friendliness of the staff made checking in a breeze. The staff was extremely attentive to my needs and helped me more than once. The location was extremely convenient to the venue I was attending. Love this Hotel and will always stay here when I'm in town.
- 3/5
During my 3 night stay the roof in the bathroom starting leaking the last day. You could tell that the water had been building up, since parts of the ceiling had water bubbles. I called immediately at 6;30 am and the person at the desk came up and brought me a bucket, later he brought a second bucket to cover another ceiling leak. About 3 hours later they told me I had to move rooms so they can do repairs and the power would have to be shut down. I was moved to a smaller room and I was a little disappointed that they didn't even offer to discount the difference or anything for the inconvenience of packing everything up and going to another room. I did not have to tell them about the leak and the ceiling damage would of been worse, but I thought it was the right thing to do.
- 5/5
Hotel is in great downtown location. Rooms are huge - staff polite! Overall great experience.
- 5/5
True hospitality. I had a wonderful stay. I would highly recommend!
- 3.5/5
A beautiful property in the middle of downtown Asheville within walking distance of shops, restaurants and bars. We also found the history of the building well maintained and on display. The hotel’s layout is well thought out; for example, there’s a large sitting area centrally located in the middle of the suites, offering families or groups of friends a place to meet just out side their room to talk and plan their adventures for the day, or to have a glass of wine together in the evening. Every corner of the building was impeccably clean and uniquely decorated. The bed was very comfortable. The first negative that struck us was the absence of a restaurant. I had eaten at their restaurant in the past and was unaware it had been eliminated. The bar that replaced it is owned by a third party and was open only on Friday and Saturday night and required a cover charge. There is, however, a speakeasy in the basement, which we were informed of by the desk clerk as the place we needed to be on Friday night, so we put that on our calendar. On Friday night we found that space had been rented by a private party, so we were left trying to find other entertainment at the last minute. Another issue was housekeeping, as in we didn’t receive any during our entire stay. In the evening after our first night, when we asked about housekeeping, we were told they give lite service every other day. After the second night, when we again had no service, the front desk said they would send fresh towels to the room. Didn’t happen until we asked again that evening. It’s worth noting at this point the sign on the front desktop stating they offer daily lite housekeeping. Lastly, the room temperature is extremely difficult to manage.
- 4/5
The hotel was absolutely beautiful and the staff was very friendly. Our mattress was a little bit too firm. Other than that it was good.
- 4.5/5
Great place!
- 1/5
We were looking forward to the jet tub in our suite. It had grime and dirt all over the jets. It was gross. Asked housekeeping to clean it twice, it was still dirty. No filtered water system. Only a water fountain the gym. If you want water bottles they charge you. Room itself was nice but not the cleanest. Housekeeping didn’t sweep, Make bed, or tidy the couch.
- 3/5
We have been coming to this hotel for many many years. This is our special place. Unfortunately the past few visits it has gone downhill visit after visit.
- 5/5
Very clean room in a great location.
- 5/5
From beginning to end our stay was spectacular! Owen went out of his way to show us kindness and hospitality. Brayden checked us in with ease except he forgot to tell us about how our room is said to be HAUNTED!!!! Although the room did creek and pop because of the age and maintaining the integrity of the old building and room, we did not experience any ghosts encounters during our visit. Such a wonderful room and fabulous view. 10 out of 10 would recommend!
- 5/5
Spacious, clean and sunny rooms in a historic building. The staff was helpful.
- 4/5
The room was spacious and clean. The bed is very comfy! The location is wonderful and easy to access. We have stayed here multiple times and noticed there have been improvements made recently. The only complaint is the thermostat was not functioning properly and the room became extremely hot in the middle of the night and prevented us from sleeping well.
- 5/5
Hotel was old, but very well maintained and the staff were amazing.
- 3/5
Classic atmosphere in an old department store building. Room was nice. Downside was that it was a bit noisier than most modern hotels (hearing hallway noises in our room).
- 5/5
We love this historical boutique hotel right in the middle of town and close to everything with valet parking and sweet staff always ready to answer any of your questions and have great recommendations! We will be back soon again!
- 3/5
Room size, location, front end staff, and valet service was excellent, 2 of 3 TVs in room did not work. Refrigerator was not cold. Fixtures in bathroom are old and need modernizations.
- 3/5
Staff was helpful and courteous. Place seemed a bit rundown since pur lAst stay 2 years ago. Both tvs in our suite were not working. Bed and bed linens were great. Central location .
- 5/5
The hotel was beautiful and the location was excellent.
- 3/5
sweet staff, hotel rooms are beautiful
- 5/5
Great staff, great location, clean, comfy beds
- 4/5
Clean, comfortable room with nice views.
- 4/5
The staff was great and the hotel is beautiful. The room was a little cold and turning the thermostat up didn't seem to help. Other than that, it was a good stay.
- 2/5
First, the hotel is next to a loading dock. Truck deliveries were very loud between the hours of 4AM and 6AM every morning. Second, there is a bright blue ceiling light in the room from some sort of "smart" device that cannot be shut off. All of this to say a good night of rest is nearly impossible at this hotel, from my experience. I would be wary of staying here. Staff was ok.
- 5/5
Our room was very clean and well laid out. The room was very large as well! Everyone on staff was very friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Great hotel. Spacious clean, rooms. Helpful staff. Great location.
- 5/5
Great staff. Quiet place. Perfect location.
- 5/5
The room was clean. The staff was friendly. The location was terrific.
- 5/5
I highly recommend this hotel. It was very clean and well managed.
- 5/5
Love the location. Love the staff. Love our room. We will definitely be back.
- 3/5
Didn't have breakfast
- 5/5
Such a beautiful property! Zack at the valet counter was AMAZING as was Tim at the front counter. We had a wonderful stay and will absolutely visit again.
- 5/5
This just might have been the best hotel experience of my life.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel with really comfortable beds, nice showers and plenty of seating in the rooms. Wish we could have stayed for longer than an overnight.
- 5/5
No breakfast, should or would like to see a continental breakfast available.
- 5/5
Amazing place! We were greeted with champagne upon check in, the room was clean, spacious and the perfect spot to walk to/from the Civic Center for Christmas Jam!
- 5/5
Staff was awesome, room was huge and clean.
- 5/5
We had a wonderful stay! Staff was helpful and very nice. The property was beautiful. Decor was tasteful. The bed was so super comfortable and the rooms were luxurious.
- 3/5
The hotel was beautiful. We enjoyed our stay. Our room was clean, but the couch looked too warn/ a bit spotted. It is very dog friendly, but not a lot of green areas to walk a dog being in the city.
- 5/5
Clean spacious room, large bathroom with tub and tv, kind staff, close to everything. I will definitely be back!
- 5/5
Excellent location in downtown Asheville. Very friendly staff. Hotel was clean and the room was large enough to be considered an apartment!! Will definitely stay here again.
- 1/5
Ive had to throw all of my blakets away to buy new ones ive bought so many chemicals for my hair it was a horrible situation that i would've want anyone else to go through it my husband wasted 658 dollars for 2 nights so we could leave and an hour passes and I started itchiching from head to toe. Ive tried reaching out to the hotel and ive talk to two employees but nothing has been done about the situation
- 5/5
The room was amazing with a wonderful view. The hot tub was beautiful. We had a great stay.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff
- 5/5
Didn’t know about the free breakfast!
- 5/5
Great Hotel and staff was super!
- 2/5
The hotel is in a central part of Asheville and easy to access restaurants and stores. My low rating has to do with the room. We found two used towels hanging in our room. I brought it to the attention of the night clerk, who sent someone up to remove the towels. However, I wanted to talk with a manager, who didn't make themselves available. I sent two emails and they haven't tried to contact me via email or a phone call. I'm not asking for a free room, but some type of conversation and maybe a few dollars off. The day clerk said they comped my valet parking - I didn't have a car so that wasn't helping me.
- 5/5
Great place. Super nice and clean, always smelled so good. Close to everything. All staff were super nice and helpful.
- 5/5
Beautiful place and the staff was da bomb. Pick this one
- 5/5
We had a wonderful weekend! The staff was extremely helpful (suggesting restaurants, things to do, giving water and ice, extra coffee). The valet service was quick and always friendly. The hotel itself was in the perfect location downtown.
- 5/5
Friendly and helpful staff! Hotel was clean above most others standards. Would stay again!!
- 5/5
Awesome hotel! Beautiful space and location. Loved it!
- 5/5
Our room was HUGE! What a great surprise to find all that space, a separate dressing room with mirrors and sink, a marble bathroom with jetted tub and shower, and a counter long enough to spread out toiletries. Clean, comfortable.
- 4/5
The lady at the desk was very nice and friendly. She seemed to know the information about the hotel. I did find the back to an earring (not mine) on the floor in our room. Everything else was nice. This is the 2nd time we've stayed at this property and love the location!
- 5/5
Staff was very nice & helpful ! Hotel was very nice ! We loved the renovation ! View was also a Wonderful Bonus ! Great Place to stay !
- 4/5
We stayed in the Grand Suite, it was beautiful. Very large room! Amazing bathroom with Huge jetted bathtub. The only complaint is the small 32 inch TV in the living room, but there is a 55 inch in the bedroom! I thought that was a luttle redic
- 5/5
We had a great time at this place!! Close to nice local shops & food. Highly recommend!
- 4/5
Staff were excellent .. hotel showing its age, but they have done a good job keeping it up. Clean room and excellent service!
- 5/5
The hotel history is so interesting. The staff was warm and welcoming and the room was spacious and bright. No doubt I will be staying there again!
- 5/5
The room was huge and nicely done. The bathroom was fantastic soaking tub with a TV. Friendly service.
- 5/5
Valet parking only
- 5/5
Great room, super clean. Fantastic location. Very friendly staff. I highly recommend this hotel in the heart of Asheville.
- 5/5
The building is a historical site as it used to be a store. We stayed on the 3rd floor and when the elevator gets to the third floor, it says, “third floor.. children’s wear.” It’s really a cool hotel all the way around. They have everything (even valet parking which is nice when staying right in town) and it’s close to everything.
- 4/5
Nice room. Friendly staff. All good re the facility. But, the room overlooked an alley with what seemed to be dumpsters and a truck backed in and out from before 5:00 AM until around 7:00 AM, with its loud and annoying beeping alarm every time it backed-up. Spoiled the stay and will keep us from returning.
- 4/5
We were overall happy with the accommodations. The staff was very friendly and helpful
- 5/5
Highly recommend the King Suite. 1,200 sq ft and beautifully decorated. Hotel is excellent and walking distance to everything in Downtown Asheville. Wonderful for our Anniversary.
- 5/5
Great staff and location. Place was clean and room was huge. Would stay again 100%.
- 3/5
Friendly staff and well located downtown.
- 5/5
What a treat to be at this converted department store. the amenities were exceptional and the location can't be beaten. loved our stay and will definitely be back!
- 5/5
It was a nice hotel
- 5/5
Everything was lovely. The room was nice and clean. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The place is beautiful and walking distance from food and shopping. We will return again.
- 5/5
Everyone on staff was wonderful, very friendly and responsive. The room was fantastic and great location!
- 5/5
We booked the standard room and it was much bigger than we expected! Very nice and clean hotel. Love the champagne at check-in. Valet parking is $19 a day but it is nice to not have to worry about trying to find a parking spot.
- 1/5
But the real deal breaker is the noise. The bar downstairs blasts music so loud it feels like the speakers are in your room. For the price, this place should be delivering comfort, not frustration. The lobby promises a grand experience, but the rooms tell a very different story.
- 5/5
Very cool hotel in downtown built in an old department store. Huge room, a little outdated but clean and comfortable. Was easy to walk to a lot of shops and restaurants and breweries.
- 5/5
Room was very nice and clean.
- 5/5
The room was spotless, the hotel itself was charming. Stayed one night because of the location which was in the heart of downtown Asheville.
- 5/5
Perfect location. Beautiful hotel.
- 3/5
The only downside was that my room stayed pretty warm even with the fan on high, which made it a bit uncomfortable at night. Aside from that, everything else was solid, and I’d still recommend this hotel, especially for EV drivers looking for convenience and great service.
- 2/5
Walls are paper thin. Could hear conversations from the family next door as if they were in our same room. Could hear everything going on just outside the front door as well. Rooms are a bit dated and not in a good way.
- 5/5
We were treated to Champagne and live piano music upon check-in.
- 5/5
Very convenient to shops and restaurant. Very spacious room and friendly staff. Would stay again if in the area!!!
- 4/5
The hotel’s vibe is eerie not the most relaxing place to stay that is for sure.
- 5/5
Great location, great service and very good valet. Spacious room with sofa, sitting chair and a large bathroom. Because of the concrete construction and all wood floors the room and common areas on the guest floors are kind of loud.
- 3/5
Interestingly, the room they gave us - and offered no options - was one that they do not even list on their website or on Expedia. Amusingly, after we got back from our tourist activities in the afternoon after the first night, they said, "It's too bad you weren't here; we had another room for you but it's gone now." They didn't call or attempt to contact us during the day. Did they mean if we had happened to be hanging around the lobby, all day, on our vacation?
- 5/5
My best friend and I had the pleasure of staying at the Haywood Park Hotel the first weekend in October. We were pleasantly surprised with everything from the moment we pulled up until the moment we checked out. The valet parking is surprisingly affordable and convenient. It was so nice to not have to worry about parking. Our room was spacious and beautiful. And, everything in downtown Asheville is walkable. We plan to go on this trip every year from here on out and will stay at the Haywood Park Hotel.
- 5/5
Great staff.very helpful.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel. Great location and staff was friendly. Room was spacious and a very comfortable bed.
- 5/5
Great location, great room, great staff! Would stay here again!
- 5/5
Exceeded all expectations. Very clean, comfortable, convenient to downtown Asheville with friendly, helpful staff. Will stay here again.
- 5/5
Beautiful Hotel amongst everything downtown Asheville. The staff, especially the two gentlemen that handled the valet and concierge. We had an absolute blast and this will be our go to hotel in Asheville from this point on.
- 5/5
Terrific location downtown. Huge clean rooms with comfy beds.
- 5/5
Super friendly staff- polite and very attentive. Excellent location.!
- 5/5
Great location in downtown Asheville, within walking distance of many shops and restaurants. Room was very spacious and comfortable. The conversion of a former department store into a hotel provided an interesting throwback atmosphere. Staff was very helpful restaurant recommendations and directions. Valet parking was super convenient, typically only waiting a couple of minutes to get our car.
- 5/5
Never disappointed
- 5/5
Friendly staff. Clean facilities. And great location.
- 5/5
Welcome /check in was lovely & Spa wxperience delightful
- 5/5
Had a fantastic time at Haywood Park. Highly recommended!
- 5/5
One of our best hotel stays ever...and we've stayed at some really nice properties. Our room and the common areas of the property were absolutely the most spotlessly clean facilities we have ever seen. The staff was great, the location in Asheville couldn't be better. If we could give a 6 out of 5 rating, we would.
- 5/5
Enjoyed the hotel very much. I rated the condition lower because the A/C was not operating properly. The room was cold and did not respond to the thermostat. Hotel provided me with a blanket and a portable heater which helped.
- 5/5
This hotel has spacious rooms and a welcoming lobby, and the friendly reception staff are happy to pour guests a glass of champagne to enjoy in the atrium or their rooms. An old department store, it still has mannequins modeling the latest 1920s fashion on the different floors. It’s in the heart of town, walkable to shops & restaurants, but also a bit noisy. Our room was unfortunately above the dumpster area, so we were awoken by the beeping of trucks backing up. A reason to pack earplugs in your overnight bag!
- 5/5
The front desk staff and valet team were great. Fast. Knowledgeable. Kind.
- 4/5
good place to stay, close to a many dinning and bars. hotel is quite clean, room with plenty of space
- 5/5
This hotel is my Wife and my go-to when we travel to Asheville. Extremely good location - dining is very, very close by. It is also connected via an indoor small shopping area to the Sports Bar. Valet parking is a great perk too, and their connected parking deck is safe and open enough space-wise to avoid door dings. The staff is very friendly too. I would highly recommend.

Awesome, historic hotel with really big rooms right in the center of downtown. Valet was a bit inconsistent but everything else was great
- 5/5
This property used to be a department store and it is so unique! The lobby is gorgeous and we were given champagne at check-in. The rooms are beautiful and huge! There are plenty of shops and restaurants in walking distance and there was live music in the hotel!
- 5/5
Great location. Cool hotel in an old 1920's department store that still maintains some o the department store memorabilia. Would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Excellent location, within walking distance to all shopping and restaurants. Hotel is smaller as far as total rooms, however the rooms are spacious and very nice.
- 5/5
Location perfect
- 5/5
The room was very spacious
- 5/5
All the staff were very friendly and happy to answer any questions we had. The hotel was really a neat find - bits of the history of the building were all over the place. Walking distance to plenty of shopping & restaraunts. Asheville is beautiful and we really enjoyed our stay - can't wait to go back and stay at the Haywood Park Hotel again!

Very friendly staff
- 4/5
Staff was courteous, near shopping and restaurants. The valet parking only was kind of inconvenient. At the time of our stay there were no on property restaurants. Would stay there again.
- 5/5
Beautiful and very cool preservation of the history of the building
- 5/5
Great location. Staff very accommodating. Beautiful decor.
- 5/5
Very convenient and great food in the area
- 4/5
Nice spot
- 5/5
Spacious clean room, has small refrigerator and keurig for coffee a plus. Valet parking convenient and courteous service. Convenient location in downtown Asheville, walking distance to many restaurants and shops. Would stay here again when in downtown Asheville.
- 3/5
The bed was as hard as a rock and super uncomfortable. There wasn’t much we could do about it. The curtains wouldn’t close all the way so as soon as the sun was up, the room was bright. Very few electrical outlets in the room as well.

Great
- 5/5
Great hotel close to everything in downtown Asheville.
- 5/5
Absolutely loved the Haywood park king suite. Room was beautiful and clean no issues! The only thing is if you want your room cool. Close the curtains before you leave to walk around. You can walk to everything!
- 5/5
We always enjoy staying here the rooms are spacious and close to everything.
- 5/5
Beautiful use of merging history with modern convenience. Awesome staff all around.
- 5/5
Hotel was conveniently located in downtown Asheville. Room and facilities were great. Valet parking was smooth.
- 5/5
The hotel staff was very welcoming and friendly. Great location with lots of shopping and food nearby, although be warned that a lot closes down early on weeknights in the area as well.
- 5/5
huge rooms, low cost, friendly staff. great location.
- 4/5
Good downtown experience.
- 5/5
Extremely comfortable, clean, and good location.
- 1/5
We had a terrible room - handicapped without the bed types we reserved. couldn’t “fix” because of hotels.com
- 4/5
The hotel staff is super helpful and kind . The history is sweetly preserved in the design it’s pretty nostalgic a bit quirky and fun. The location is prime for walk ability and it’s nestled in. The room was large and the bed very comfortable- we prefer floors to carpet so that was great too. Overall great stay we will return
- 5/5
Our room was huge! The hotel has historical exhibits throughout and was very centrally located. Looking forward to trying the new jazz place downstairs next time. Spa services were great!
- 4/5
Valet service wasn’t great. They valeted our car to the Cambria hotel nearby, which we then had to go pickup ourselves before our early morning departure. The valet crew at the cambria was unorganized and took them about 25 minutes to finally get us our vehicle from the garage. The garbage trucks that came to the alley by our room every morning around 6-7am also woke us up Overall a nice hotel with friendly staff, I would recommend it
- 4/5
Room was big, clean, and very lovely. Convenient location. On the downside, the room became warm after we went to sleep, even though we had the temp on 68. Awoke to street noise, including loud garbage truck backup beeping, car horns, and construction banging sounds that began at 6:30 am.
- 5/5
Property has a lot of character, classic car and piano in lobby and showcase on all floors
- 5/5
We have stayed at the Haywood Park several times. The location is perfect. The rooms are well appointed, spacious and so clean. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. We love this place!
- 5/5
Excellent location and charming hotel with large rooms and excellent service.
- 5/5
Cute little hotel. Perfect location. Very close to Biltmore and reasonably priced. Huge rooms. Very clean. Honestly very surprised on the size of the homeless population in Asheville. Does not reflect the hotel by any means but just something we noticed.
- 5/5
Totally loved this place. The welcoming staff, the location, the valet situation. The room itself- just overall A+. Thank you!!
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Peaceful, convenient, large rooms with jacuzzi tub.

Wonderful hotel, great location, spacious room, very clean, friendly staff.
- 5/5
This historic building is so neat! The room was large, clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Great price for the room and quality of the hotel. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. We will definitely be back!

Location was wonderful. The rooms large and beds comfortable

Best hotel in Ashville

This place is lovely and perfectly located to take advantage of downtown. The lobby area has a lot of charm and people were helpful when we needed them. We especially appreciated the fast and courteous valets when we needed our car. We would absolutely stay here again. With just a little more attention to some hospitality-based areas, I’m looking forward to giving the full five stars next time. Nothing went wrong, if you don’t count the TV in the bedroom of our suite not able to connect to local channels and no directions with it to suggest the setup was different from the one in the living area, but things like complimentary champagne on check-in should be offered without guests having to point to it and ask. There’s a Model A in the lobby, but no one could tell me what it was, one saying “I’m not a car person.” Not hard to find out, as I walked to the plaque that is right by it. Just interesting omissions like that. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and we loved the robes. We were a little surprised that the bathroom amenities were more modest than most other historic hotels we’ve stayed in at that price point. But again, not deal breakers at all. It has all the potential to go from good to great, and with the continuing comeback from Hurricane Helena, we expect nothing but better experiences as they get fully staffed and trained.
- 5/5
Incredible staff, impeccable cleanliness, amazing decor, and extremely reasonable valet fee. Plus, the location was hard to beat. Will absolutely stay here again!
- 5/5
This is an old, charming hotel. It is converted from a department store from the 1920s-1970s or so and they have left a lot of the character in place. Our room was large and comfortable. The location is very convenient to restaurants and entertainment. We will stay here again next time.
- 4/5
Clean, comfortable beds, quiet, but property is dated. I recommend they remove the mannequins.
- 5/5
Comfortable beds, spacious bath all spotlessly clean. Perfect location! Fun bar with live music downstairs. Staff was AMAZING! Friendly & helpful. Shout out to Jenna for helping a little mix up at check in.
- 5/5
We decided to stay at this historic property vs normally staying outside of Asheville and it did not disappoint! The location is central to all that downtown Asheville has to offer within a few short steps. The property was beautiful and we appreciated the charming touches from the old department store. The rooms were perfect for our family of 4 with plenty of space, a large bathroom with an additional sink area outside the bathroom as well as a wet bar, and a rollaway was provided too. The staff was beyond accommodating and friendly as we were also dealing with an unanticipated car issue. Each valet attendant was even more helpful than the one before, especially John. We look forward to returning again and supporting Asheville as it continues to recover and welcome back visitors.
- 5/5
Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean, a little outdated as far as no USB connectors in room. No on site breakfast or coffee but they have machines in the rooms and plenty of food options around the area.
- 5/5
Beautiful, historic location, great staff, beautiful room, spacious, clean and reasonably priced for the area and room.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, great location, close to shops, bars, restaurants. The rooms are big and the bed was very comfortable. I didn't have the chance to go, but there is a bar/restaurant on the first floor.
- 5/5
Great stay in prime Asheville location. So much available stepping onto the street and exploring city on foot. Clean, luxurious room and great service.
- 5/5
Fantastic location and the hotel itself has such a great history.
- 3/5
One thing I struggled with was the key card system; I had to get my room key replaced twice. I know Asheville is facing some challenges right now, and I really hope things turn around soon because it’s such a beautiful city! ♥️
- 5/5
Lovely hotel. Very spacious room and very comfortable. Close to all downtown places. We enjoyed our stay very much.
- 4/5
Great hotel, old department store from the 20’-70’s. Very nostalgic inside. Even when the elevator door opens it tells you which “department” you’re in. 2nd floor was men’s wear! Hotel is extremely well located, within a block or two to many restaurants, shops, nightlife, etc. Room was tastefully decorated and huge with two queens, a couch, and a chair! Bathroom was gigantic as well with a TV! The room did lack in some amenities, however. We received a tiny amount of soap and shampoo for shower. You have to go to front desk for ice. Our room had no ice bucket. There was not a coffee maker in room and the vending area had a tiny Keurig which had no regular coffee pods. There were only two paper cups to use in room. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would come again.
- 5/5
Best hotel I have ever stayed. Really close to the convention center and friendly staff
- 5/5
The property is amazing and decorated perfectly! It’s truly stunning. The room was clean and neat and every amenity worked as it should. It was a joy staying in such a well manicured facility. The only negative to this stay was the water temperature. I’m not sure if they were having difficulties or the water heater isn’t big enough but the temperature in the shower or tub never got above luke warm at any time. I spoke to a few other guests on my floor and they said the same thing. It’s not a deal-breaker by any stretch but after a long day of walking and playing it’d be nice to take a hot shower.
- 4/5
On another note, there was no access to WiFi and no communication surrounding the outage or restoration ETA. Also, it’s a busy place and it would be nice to not have to have more than one person valeting vehicles to minimize confusion and delays.

Amazing!

This used to be our favorite place to stay when visiting Asheville and where we stayed for our honeymoon 20 years ago. We have been back several times since then and spent our 20th anniversary there last weekend. For the most part, the previous stays have been very nice. The hotel looks like it has not had any significant updates since we first went there. Even the furniture looked the same. The mattress on the bed was in poor shape and slanted towards the middle and had no box spring for support. The shower had very poor water pressure and was luke warm at best (as was the water in the tub) when the dial was turned all the way to hot. We notified the staff several times about the shower and maintenance may have been sent, but with no appreciable improvement to the water pressure or temperature. There were some other issues, but minor in comparison to the water issue. We will most likely stay at a different hotel or rent an air bnb our next trip to Asheville which is a shame because we have had great experiences at the Haywood Park Hotel in the past.
- 5/5
Beautiful and cool building, great rooms, awesome location
- 5/5
A beautiful hotel which was once a department store - cleverly decorated and huge rooms - we loved staying there in walking distance of all kinds of restaurants and shops. Only thing disappointing was their restaurant wasn’t open and there was no pool. Excellent stay will return again. Valet was superb!!
- 5/5
Great location. Could walk everywhere downtown Asheville. Our room was huge and very nice. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay there again the next time we're in Asheville.
- 5/5
Great historic property. Large rooms, nice gym very well located to park and walk everywhere. A great stay.
- 5/5
What an amazing property, I love old buildings and this is a really cool one. I guess at some point it was a big local department store but now its a wonderful hotel. Its really close to lots of restaurants and cool little shops. If your going to a concert its a very short walk to the venue, if your going to Asheville I highly recommend staying here.
- 3/5
I had 3 reservations for 6 nights total. one night was wrong, instead of being nice and allowing one night to be changed, they charged me for it. They do not like 3rd party reservations...
- 5/5
beautiful hotel and rooms, excellent customer service
- 3/5
Check in process was very slow and tedious, first set of keys issued did not work. There was no fridge in the room, also no ice provided on each floor, ice had to be retrieved from front counter, which you had to wait in line for again. The cleanliness and room condition was very good, comfortable bed and linens. No lobby bar or reataraunt available was dissapointing, everything was under renovation.
- 3/5
Our room was right above the trash dumpsters and that is all I heard all night. The wifi was awful and never kept a connection which usually would not matter as I can usually stream something from a hotel tv or watch premium on their system but not here. This room was not cheap so I was really disappointed with this lack of service.
- 5/5
How big the rooms were
- 4/5
I thought it was unique that the hotel used to be an Ivey's and the elevators announce the clothing for the floor you are arriving on. But I was a little disappointed that there was no coffee IN the room. I had to go downstairs and make it myself. There is also no ability to get your own ice, so I had to go to the lobby and request ice and a glass. I paid extra for a City View room but all I could see was the brick of the building next door. The staff was great and accommodating.
- 4/5
with such a large dining area it would be nice to have some plates, glasses, and silverware. Otherwise, the place is spacious, quiet and comfy.
- 5/5
Great location, comfortable beds, great shower. Within walking distance of many great amenities.
- 5/5
The minute we arrived it was a pleasant experience. We were greeted by the valet Owen who promptly unloaded our car on a trolley and rolled it in for us to check in. Aurelia welcomed us at the desk and offered us champagne (very nice welcome after a long drive!). It was a quick and easy check-in and we were off to our room. Our room was VERY spacious and had a large, comfortable couch and relaxing TV area. There was a small fridge, microwave and Keurig. There was also a nice dining table and a desk. Loved the location, the friendly staff and beautiful, comfortable room.
- 5/5
Haywood Park is a beautiful property in a remodeled department store with very attentive staff. The rooms are exceptionally large
- 5/5
The hotel is a converted department store which has stayed true to its original architectural roots. The staff is warm and welcoming and very helpful. The location downtown made it unnecessary to use a vehicle for either dining or entertainment. I would definitely see here again
