This is a gem! Cozy cottages, clean and tidy. A great place to stay in Ashland
- 5/5
Check in and out was so easy with friendly staff. The room was perfect for our stay with a kitchen table, fridge & coffee maker - comfy size for all. Walkable to and from town and parking was a cinch. We'll definitely be back!
- 5/5
This is a nicely restored vintage motel. The rooms are styled midcentury but with modern appliances and fixtures. They are also clean. I recommend it for anyone looking for a unique travel experience other than the big chain hotels and motels. The location is a little under 1 mile from the Oregon Shakespearian Festival so walkable for some.
- 5/5
The room was not only spotless, but unique and very charming decor. It is like a little house and I wanted to stay another night just to enjoy reading in the little window nook!

Nice little cottage style room. Beautiful garden and yard. Amble parking. Good location where we can walk to down town in 15 minutes and walking distance to our favorite breakfast place, The Morning Glory, and CASE Cafe. The only issue that we have was the water pressure in the shower. It was really low. Since we only stayed for 2 nights, we put up with it but we did inform the front desk about it when we checked out, and they were very polite and said that they will address the issue.

Very nice facility
- 5/5
I loved the sweet, local touches in regards to the in-room coffee and bedside chocolates. Our beds in room 3 were very comfortable, the decor was fantastic, and the retro kitchen appliances were fun & perfectly functional. Also, drinking my morning coffee on the beautiful patio was a delightful way to start my day!
- 4/5
I liked this cute vintage motel, but was disappointed about the noise from my neighbor’s TV being on til midnight
- 5/5
The bed was super comfy. The room (cottage) was quiet, nicely updated and clean. We will be back!!!!
- 5/5
A perfect, tiny apartment
- 5/5
Great please with attractive grounds. Had a great vibe.
- 5/5
Lovely facility. Top notch staff. Great location.
- 4/5
Great rooms! Love the retro vibe. The pool is nice, but for the price of the rooms, it's a bit ridiculous that you have to pay an extra $55 to rent a chair with shade.
- 5/5
I particularly liked the reception person. She was very helpful and polite. She made me feel comfortable and welcomed in my three-day stay. Haley was her name.

I always get space saving ideas when I stay at The Palm. The rooms are cute, small but cozy with everything you need for an overnight stay. The heavy glass sliding shower door is an ingenious design and I especially appreciate the dedicated (generally) parking spaces. Love the pollinator garden idea. This place is not for the claustrophobic, but if all you need is a bed and a shower it's just fine.
- 5/5
Very nice, comfortable convenient place. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. This was the second time I stayed there and will do so again my next trip.
- 5/5
We absolutely love this property. Perfect location in a neighborhood close to downtown. The staff is fabulous. The artistic flare gives the feel of the best designs of mid century meets artistic design of now.
- 5/5
Just a great step back in time , to the Ashland I grew up in .
- 5/5
Fun and funky, classic Ashland vibes.
- 5/5
Just the whole set up of the area was breath taking. Went up for a training at SOU which was conveniently located right across the road from our stay. Was able to go down into Ashland to do a little shopping at the local shops. Will be coming back.
- 5/5
Awesome little boutique hotel, dog friendly, walkable to Omar's which had amazing steak!
- 5/5
I lke the small well care for cottages. The rooms were complete in every detail. The grounds were beautiful. The bed was comfortable
- 4/5
Our room was small (room 6) but adequate. It would have been nice to have 1 more pod of regular coffee available for the machine in our room and a small refrigerator, but overall, we enjoyed our short stay. The pool area was very nice, the water temperature was perfect, and the numerous sitting areas surrounding the cottages were quaint. The reception desk was friendly and helpful. The shower track needs to be cleaned with bleach as it was dirty, but otherwise, the room was clean and inviting.
- 5/5
This has become my go-to place in Ashland for family stays! Great establishment with clean, spacious rooms with nice patio and small dog patio as well. Great pool with rentable cabanas and seasonal saltwater!
- 5/5
Love this little motel! Definitely need to stay here more often. Great location, immaculate with beautiful gardens and swimming pool. Beats the larger hotels by a mile.
- 5/5
VERY cute remodel, warm colors, clean!
- 5/5
Love this place. Each unit is unique, but all are worth staying in.
- 5/5
Love it
- 5/5
Friendly staff, very clean place with parking right outside the door
- 5/5
Great little place! Will definitely stay there again.
- 4/5
Very cute set of cottages with enticing inner grounds--nice swimming and sunning area, places to sit and relax or picnic. Very small and low ceilinged room was our only disappointment, though nicely appointed except for no microwave or fridge. Possibly other cottages are roomier.
- 5/5
This is a nice, peaceful place. Check in was easy, pool was nice. Very lovely landscaping and common areas. Parking was outside your cottage. Just a nice relaxing vibe.
- 5/5
Friendly service! Nice clean room with parking out front. Though we only stayed one night and did not use the pool it looked very inviting
- 5/5
Very nice and quaint. Beautiful landscaping!
- 5/5
This was my third stay at the PALM cottages, and I love it more each time. It's a nice walk down to the theaters, has a wonderful little pool, beautiful landscaping and really comfortable beds and bedding.
- 5/5
Booked @ the last minute, What a pleasant surprise. Although we have no children at the University we still found this to be a great choice as far as location. The grounds are pristine. Although I found the room to be a little on the small side, the beautifully landscaped grounds and extra friendly staff made it a perfect choice. I was also able to charge my EV @ NC
- 5/5
Wonderful comfortable room and bed. Very clean quiet location with updates and very cute room. Staff upgraded our room for no charge since there was availability. Would stay again.
- 5/5
needed a place to stay last minute in ashland and totally lucked out. accomodations are thoughtful, comfy and clean. loved the fireplace as it was just cold enough to leave it on all night. and jason at the front desk is a gem!
- 4/5
Quaint building. Nice pool area. Very clean
- 5/5
We've travelled to Ashland on several occasions and stayed in variety of accommodations. This is one of our favorites.
- 2/5
The room was very small and very basic. One night they couldn't turn the bathroom fan off and it ran all night creating a noisy distraction. Ultimately they dismantled it. They have used Covid as an excuse to not provide coffee. There was no coffee maker in the room. I was told by staff that the coffee shop a half mile away was easily walkable.
- 5/5
Really charming and well done. Nicely appointed. Beautiful pool area with high end outdoor furniture.
- 5/5
Charming, cozy ,restful, beautiful grounds. Only suggestion, could have used a nightstand with a larger surface and a back cushion on the lovely wicker chair. Loved the yellow walls and retro lamps. Very comfortable bed and helpful, sincere staff. Just walk in the room and stand at the door a look at the nightstands. Too high and small. Would come back again and recommend to friends kind of an oasis other than the furniture note.
- 5/5
Loved my adorable cottage and the pool was phenomenal!!! Would love to stay there again!!! It was a Treat I gave myself!!!
- 5/5
Super cute renovated motel. Our room was small which made it super cozy. The pool area is gorgeous. The staff was friendly and really helpful. Will totally stay here again.
- 2/5
The pictures shown for our $200 room did not represent the room upon arrival. We were placed in a small room with flooring and furniture from decades ago and no headboard on the bed. Additionally, the room smelled of dog pee. From now on I will take screen shots of the rooms I book; otherwise, customers have no way to dispute bait and switch tactics when the room is paid for in advance and you cannot retro-actively go back and pull up the images.
- 5/5
Beautiful grounds and lovely pool. Best service desk with very helpful staff. Will definitely choose again when I am in Ashland.
- 5/5
Super little hotel, very clean, lovely grounds and well cared for flower gardens. amazing pool. Good, right across the street, proximity to the Universitiy. short 10 minute walking to downtown shops and restaurants
- 5/5
The hotel as absolutely adorable. They have beautifully kept gardens throughout the property. The pool area is very nice...although it cost extra for a little private cabana. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. It is extremely clean. Our room was neat and very clean albeit a bit sparse. No fridge. We will definitely be staying here again!
- 4/5
Unfortunately our bathroom had a terrible smell that emanates from the sink on and off throughout the day and esp when used. We asked for housekeeping to check it out but they wouldn’t because of Covid precautions. This was a bit frustrating to me as the room is small and it’s hard to avoid a smell like that. We are far enough out of Covid that it seems someone could have helped us other than providing a scented spray.
- 5/5
great place to stay; very pleasant
- 4/5
The pool area/cabanas were fantastic! It elevated this motel to an unforgettably relaxing stay.
- 5/5
Definitely staying here again. Very clean, beautiful room, beds are comfortable & love that parking is right in front on room.
- 5/5
Shangri La!! Fabulous garden areas to relax and appreciate❣️ The room was spotless, bed was cozy, and room adorned with fresh flowers. Staff was excellent. Home away from home.
- 5/5
Awesome place and the pool is incredible! Ashland is a very special place and I love to stay at the Palm cottage every visit!
- 5/5
The Pool was FABULOUS
- 5/5
We stayed in the two bedroom cottage. It was very pleasant, beautiful setting surrounded by gardens, and very clean. Felt very comfortable, like a home away from home. We decided to stay a second night. The staff were friendly. Great location.
- 4/5
The size of the room was disappointing because of the size. It made it uncomfortable to move around. Also it would have been nice to have a coffee maker in the room.
- 5/5
We stayed at the Palm for one night for a friends weeding. I went the the University directly across the street and have always been curious about the hotel so we decided to stay here! First, the customer service was phenomenal. Daniel checked us in and was so accommodating! The room was small, but we don’t need anything big so that’s fine with us! The room was exceptionally clean and the bed was SO comfortable. Outside is so amazing - looks like a park! So many beautiful plans and flowers. I love this hotel and plan to return in the future!
- 5/5
We will come back again
- 4/5
Great walking neighborhood. Nice outside space to relax on & off during the day. Quaint, charming affordable. Staff friendly.
- 4/5
lots of gardens, yards, fountains, open seating. Room was pretty small but comfortable. Worth price. great mattress, pillows, sheets. TV was wonky
- 4/5
The room was clean but the carpet and towels seem old.
- 2/5
Chose the "Luxury Room" thinking it would be nice, quiet and "Luxurious," but it was anything but. First I had to find it in the dark, which wasn't easy, since it was poorly marked. Then the wood floor creaked so bad, I was concerned with disturbing the neighboring guest on the other side of the shared wall. The throw rug next to the bed was filthy and the stool cushions were worn out. The wall next to the toilet had missing chips of paint and the toilet was leaking at its base. When I went to use the shower, the mat was frayed, stained and had pubic hairs on it and the shower head leaked. I then noticed hair on the floor, door and door casing, along with mold in the corners in front of the tub. I was awoken in the middle of the night by the neighboring guests having sex. When they finished, I could hear their voices. Obviously the beds in the rooms are head to head and the shared wall is not soundproofed. I couldn't bring myself to use the coffee maker, because it was disgustingly dirty, as was the door of the mini fridge. I went to open the windows in the morning and found them all unlocked, window sills dirty and the baseboards were filthy as well. The lack of cleanliness of the entire unit was unacceptable and concerning, especially with Covid. When I complained to management, he/she responded very stoically, blaming the condition of the room on Covid, because of difficulty keeping staff. One of my worst motel experiences ever and a complete waste of hard earned money.
- 4/5
Would have rated better but no coffee maker/coffee, and no mini fridge.
- 5/5
Fantastic rooms and great service! I like that it is independently owned.
- 5/5
The room we stayed in was one of the smaller rooms available yet it was a charming experience. Great for a weekend getaway.
- 5/5
Great spot
- 5/5
I arrived late and was pleased to be greated by very friendly staff. The room was a moderate size, but very clean and fit my needs perfectly.
- 5/5
But it really wasn't that big of a deal, I paid for the bed - which was wonderfully soft - and I fell asleep within minutes. Best place to stay at in Ashland considering the price and decor.
- 5/5
Although I didn’t get to stay all night due to an impending snow storm threatening to block all my routes home, my first impression was that this is such an unexpected gem! In covid days, it’s important to feel how seriously your accommodations take sanitation and the room was updated and immaculate. Sadly, I didn’t get to really experience it and had to leave almost 2 hrs into decompressing, but I’d definitely come back if that means anything.
- 5/5
Excellent accommodations! A rare 5-star cottage with nice touches. I highly recommend the Palm Cottages.
- 3/5
It’s a quaint property. The rooms are very very basic and clean. It is winter and the bedding wasn’t very warm so I asked for more blankets. Bed wasn’t really that comfortable. I would pay extra for more comfort.
- 4/5
the room was comfortable and clean. felt a little over priced for what we got, but the grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed them. maybe if it was warmer I would feel better after enjoying their awesome pool area.
- 5/5
Loved it. Great location. Comfy. Cozy. Friendly. Great pool.
- 5/5
This is a super beautiful place that surprised me! I didn’t expect that in a small town a moderate priced motel can be sooo pretty! Its gardens, swimming pool, cabanas make me feel that I was in a Hawaii resort. I would like to revisit when I have a chance!
- 5/5
We stayed at a premiere suite just for a passing thru night - and oh, what a quaint cottage it is. Very state of the art bathroom. Could use a larger TV. Definitely will stay there again!!
- 5/5
Cute little rooms. Pool is great. Nice places outside to sit in the shade when it’s hot!
- 5/5
Super comfortable and very clean. The beds were the most comfortable on our four hotel trip.
- 5/5
The pool and grounds are lovely. Our cottage was perfect with two separate sleeping areas. There are plenty of places to relax in a shady spot. Loved the ability to watch free movies. Great set up with a dining area and small kitchenette.
- 5/5
The room and place was great. Nicley decorated, staff very friendly. A nice Gem of a place in Ashland
- 4/5
Service was ok, pool was supposed to open at 8, by 9 it wasn’t opened and I couldn’t enjoy my morning coffee poolside😞
- 5/5
Great location, super quiet and the cabin was just so cute!
- 3/5
I'm sure the COVID ordeal is wearing on all of us by now, and while I'm not certain that's the cause of a rather irritable older female host in the afternoon/ evenings, but both of my interactions with her suggest she would be better suited as the bookkeeper, rather than meeting with the public. That put a bad taste in my mouth. Otherwise, the younger girl in the mornings was sweet and perfectly suited to that job ( it's the hospitality business ).
- 5/5
The Sunrise suite was the bomb!! Staff was delightful and room was so perfect ! I will recommend this place to everyone !
- 5/5
The beds and pillows were so amazing especially after the long trip to get to Oregon. It was also nice to have a remote control for the HVAC and could change temp from laying in bed. Very updated and nice. The one downside I would have to list is very thin walls, our neighbors on both sides were (what sounded like) moving around furniture and banging on the floor and walls until 2 or 3am. Nothing some earplugs couldn’t solve.
- 5/5
Cozy, friendly, nice location, not like a regular motel
- 3/5
The property is cute and charming but I was stingy and chose what is likely the smallest room, room 0. Small is okay, but this lacked any place to set down toiletries in the bathroom. That would be easy for management to remedy by placing a small table or cart next to the sink. I was there in early March so did not take advantage of the beautiful pool and grounds, but those would be a nice feature in season. The property is a longish walk from Downtown Ashland, just over a mile. Parking was free. A quibble: there was no coffee available in the room, and the reception desk had only hot water for tea, although they offered to make a pour over coffee for me. No coffee service was available in the evening or early morning.
- 4/5
Great little place spent a girls weekend with my daughter in Ashland. Would love to come back and enjoy the pool in summer 😎
- 3/5
One of the heaters was making a whistling noise and we brought it up to the front desk guy and he said it’s normal and they all make that noise, which is a lie because there were two in the room and the other was silent. Also he was very rude when addressing the issue.
- 5/5
Amazing, very special place. We will return. So warm and cozy with everything we needed. I could live there.
- 5/5
It was a cute and beautiful cottage. Very cleaned and well maintained. Breakfast room was so cute! I definitely recommend this place if you are in Ashland!
- 5/5
Beautiful property. Lovely grounds and flowers. Nice pool. Great location.
- 5/5
This is an outstanding motel. First class gardens and pool. Staff super accommodating. Loved every minute of it. Rooms are lovely and modern.
- 5/5
The cottages are so comfortable and welcoming. Staff greet you like family. The pool area is relaxing and there is plenty of lounge chairs.
- 3/5
Very sadly, the queen bed (room 10) was the worst we've slept on in a very long time and we've been traveling a lot. The room was small, bathroom fan way too noisy (and light couldn't be turned on without it) but it was the bed which was impossible. The grounds and pool area are really gorgeous -- we were so disappointed in the bed! It was soft and caved to the middle. Haven't slept on one of those since cheap European pensions as a student!
- 5/5
I'd called the Palm Cottages to let them know I would be checking in after 11PM and they had an attendant ready and waiting to check us in, it was a breeze and she was very pleasant. The room was the queen with the kitchenette, and it was blatantly adorable. Waking up to the gorgeous gardens or a dip in the salt pool was exactly what we needed after a stressful stretch of driving. I will definitely recommend and return to this establishment.
- 4/5
Everything was awesome about this place except the mattress, which was terrible. If it wasn’t for that, I’d say it was AMAZING!
- 5/5
Incredible property. Feel like i am at a mini resort.
- 4/5
Very quiet and peaceful property. Short driving distance to downtown Ashland.
- 5/5
Coffee maker in the room would have been great. Office was closed early morning (7.30) when I had to leave, and hoped for coffee for the road.
- 4/5
Small yet personable accommodations. No breakfast, but we were ok with that since we could enjoy trying the nearby breakfast places in Ashland.
- 5/5
The property location was great for walking to food, stores and Southern Oregon University. They have a very nice outdoor area including a pool to relax and be outside. The rooms are perfect for a weekend in Ashland.
- 5/5
So charming, the beds are very comfortable, it is close to the university, and loved the beautiful gardens.
