After changing rooms (because the AC was not working)....the room was basically clean and comfortable....with only minor maintenance issues noted (burnt out lightbulb, loose vanity faucet etc). This hotel is a lower priced, affordable option for this area.

Good room and price My name is Danilo Viana, and I am currently staying at Days Inn by Wyndham Ashland (806 England St, Ashland, VA). I am writing to formally document a serious concern regarding a bed bug issue identified in room 2019 during my stay. After reporting the problem, I was relocated to room 2012. However, the initial discovery raises concerns about the overall pest control and sanitation standards of the property. I would also like to inform you that I am currently staying at the property from May 21, 2026 through May 26, 2026. I hope this situation can be properly addressed during my stay and that I will have positive updates to share. At this stage, I am requesting confirmation that the hotel management is taking immediate corrective action, including professional pest control treatment and a full inspection of the property.

I got a room with no tv, no fridge - I had bedbugs so bad we were eaten alive. It's nasty and gross and to top it off they put a new guy there that had been only working 3 days and he double charged my card and it took 4 days for me to get MY money back - disgusting

The TV did not work. The curtains were hanging half off the windows. The air-conditioning system turned on and turned off all night long. And I never felt so insecure in all my stays on Expedia. I would not recommend this to anyone including truck drivers.

Do not stay here. These pictures must be from when the place first opened. It looks nothing like the pictures posted on the website. The first room they gave us wasn’t cleaned from the previous guests. The second room had bugs. We left immediately and asked for a refund but the refund was denied. The area wasn’t safe. It’s gross, there are better options. This place shouldn’t be open until it’s cleaned properly and the bugs are gone.

All of the rooms smelled of smoke - heavy smoke. We tried three different rooms. The last room had less of a smoke smell but was infested with bugs. This was the worst hotel I’ve ever ever stayed at!

Staff was very friendly

Amazing staff ! Best staff experience at a hotel. Both were so helpful and sweet to our two kids and everyone who came by. We loved it so much on our trip to Florida we came there again on the way back! They had great books and toys for the kids in the lobby and a little kids table which made the experience easier & more special for them.

I arrived an hour after check in and my rooms were still not ready, instead of putting us in a king size bed like we reserved they placed us in a double bed room, the room we were given half the electric didn't work on one whole side and that was the side the TV and fridge were on, then gave us another room that was still occupied by someone, then the last room the tube would not stop running. The next morning our key didn't work to open our door. It was a complete wreck. I will never stay there again, plus they advertise they have a pool but it's not even open. Not worth the $300 I spent. Will not recommend to anyone.

I would never stay there again, disgusting room, property was in a bad location. I cancelled my second night and asked for a refund which was granted the next morning. If it hadn’t been late and been so tired I wouldn’t have stayed at all.

It’s a good location It was a very nice staff member, but the girl was super nasty, towels were soaked from the room leaking water, there was dead roaches and live roaches, it was very nasty and just not cleaned at all. It’s due to having short staff I understand that as well.

Great mattress and pillows, everything very clean, helpful woman at check-in Confusion over which room we were in, but resolved with a smile. The outside isn't much to look at, but our room was comfortable.

Bathroom looked pretty clean until toilet didn't flush. Water had been turned off to toilet. If we used toilet we had to get water from sink to put into toilet tank. Turned water to tank on and realized why it was turned off. Ran all night.slept with clothes on above sheets. We had called desk but they said no other room was available. We had used Expedia points so it didn't cost us anything which we thought might have been the reason we got that room. Only stayed a few hours and got out fast! Also, quite a few people hanging out in cars in the parking lot. Very uncomfortable feeling!!

Dated motel. Lose faucet. Exposed cords in corners and above window. Worn looking exterior. A lot of smoking going on. The king bed was comfortable.

First was the roaches, then no shower curtain and the toilet not bolted down. The TV was non usable only 2 out of 6 lights and lamps worked. Unknowingly untill the next morning the fridge didn't work. The sheet had not been cleaned and there was large amounts of hair from the last person in the room in the bed sheets. Pool not open and the whole property looks like it was condemned years ago. Will not be back and really gives the Days Inn and Wyndham brand a bad name.

This place was a DUMP. It should not have the name Days Inn Wyndham attached to it. Smell dirty, no soap, roaches in the bath tub . Just a filthy place. I slept with my clothes on and on the coach because I was afraid to sleep on the sheets. I got there at 8pm and the front desk was closed. Had to bang on the door in the cold and rain for five minutes. DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE

This hotel is in miserable condition. Please anyone don’t stay here . It’s unsafe, unhealthy, and gross condition. There are roaches and maggots running on walls , ceiling and bed. I stayed in my van all night and didn’t stay in room.

Look… We were in a jam. We reserved a $240/night room in Richmond and it was unsafe. There were no other rooms in RVA so we had to branch out. The room at Days Inn Ashland was a little sketchy, at best.

Sketchy area, trees low enough to touch cars in parking spots, poor facility maintenance, loud noises from ceiling fan in bathroom, no working remote, walls and floors in need of paint and scrub, dumpy and scary vibes.

We had to flee shortly after arriving due to finding a bed bug crawling on us. The ceiling was falling into the shower, or so we hope that’s what it was and the lights were falling off the walls.

Dangerous area, unsafe conditions, unsanitary facility, room keys & door locks malfunction, abandoned buildings on property, parking lots & entry/exit to main road not maintained. DANGEROUS.

The photos are misleading as in this property is outdated, dilapidated, unsanitary and down right disgusting! I was first put in a room that had not been cleaned or a bed made, then the next room was just plain awful starting with the room itself there were bugs , stuff all over the walls, burns and stains on every surface, the ceiling in the shower corner falling in and a gap around the door you could see daylight through. The other guests had dogs that barked all night and people scuffling up and down the walkways while the kids tried shaking the door knob of every door they passed.

Waited 04 1/2 days for housekeeping & it was done the 05th day. Including the tub being filled after I was showering up. That wasn't good to waited that long. I'm a regular guest, at the DAYS INN Fredericksburg location, where my home area is in Spotsylvania. The TV works, except no CBS 06 or ABC 08 channel came through & hope next time I come here, it'll be able to be workable. Despite the loud guest on 01st floor, yelling & saying obscenities to her daughters which I didn't like, it was good overall. Hope the Ice Machine will be fixed & working again. Thank You, gentlemen (& ladies).

This is Rebecca Eubank and I want my credit card refunded the amount I paid for the hotel, If I do not get it I will go on every site and complain and tell everyone what you have in your rooms. Cockroaches, bed bugs, dirt, disgusting bathrooms, roaches getting on your toothbrushes, lots and lots of bedbugs. My fiance was eated to death on arms, stomach, legs, back, his face was infected. I suggest you give me my money back or I will reveal all. And I mean today. For the weekk I stayed, not a night. I'm not kidding Im so furious.

My room had a roach infestacion. Also, the room heating was faulty turning on and off. No wander the room rates was so appealing to stay. In addition, arriving very tired from driving on the road 7 hours all what the body ask for is to rest until one wakes up and turn on the lights to see the roaches running for cover. Do not stay there rather is best to pay extra by staying in another known brand hotel with higher standards. Thank you.

Unfortunately there were bed bugs in room 2040 where I was staying for two nights. The shower knobs were broken and the bathtub faucet was dripping continuously.

The management was terrible. They rob me for $250. When I called him in the lie he started back cuddling and then when I ask who I speak to a manager above him, he told me he was the last boss and then when I asked for his name, he told me it was classified and hung up on me. I called back later and found out his first name was Keith simply because when I called back to ask to speak to management he picked up and said hello. This is Keith. How may I help you and I immediately recognized his voice and he hung up on me again when I asked what his last name still classified. The management is utterly rude and a joke piss poor customer service. I wonder if he would’ve spoke to me that way if we were face-to-face instead of over the phone

The room was very musty smelling. There were roaches on the floor, bugs flying around the room and the bathroom was not clean. There was someone old soap left in the shower.

Very poorly maintained. Hot water went cold in shower after a few minutes. Friends stayed in two other rooms that had roaches and fruit flies in them. Smoke detector on table had to request a battery and install ourselves. Blanket with hair all over it. Requested another room was told hotel was full asked for another blanket was told they’d have to get from another room. Will not stay there again.

We went through 7 rooms. The first two the keys wouldn’t work. The third we crashed one night in after a 3AM arrival. The next day we discovered it was full of cockroaches and ticks. Then we went through three more cockroach infested rooms. We spent the 2nd night with the lights on just in case there were more. The water was sulfurous so we didn’t shower the whole time we were there. The staff was friendly and courteous. Really the only plus of the whole stay. This hotel wasn’t worth the $60 they were charging, frankly they should pay people to stay in this travesty.

Better bathroom

I’ve stayed here before and the property was a little run down but still clean. This time, I had two issues with the room. First, someone’s used bar of soap with a hair on it was stuck to the shower wall. Secondly, the toilet paper roll holder was broken. This meant you had to free handle the roll. Not great when you consider previous guests have handled that roll as well.

This was a horrible experience. Roaches everywhere. “non smoking” room only smelled like smoke and cigarettes. It’s more like a motel than a hotel. Only good thing is that’s conveniently located near restaurants. Wish I could get a refund.

Check in was quick 2 star or less. Our room was on the sdcond floor up an outside stairwell onto a landing that felt like it could let go at any time. Electronic lock on door worked well. Lament flooring in the room. Newer pictures on the wall. Stains on bed covering but sheets and pillows were clean. The bedside phone and alarm clock were dirty as was the table. The fridge had not been wiped off nor were the floors. The sink was stained, toilet as well. The shower still had hair on the walls and the bathroom door itself was filthy. I cleaned everything before we could stay. They had no other rooms available as they had to send another walkin guest away. The office area was very clean. The cleaning staff needs to do a much better job. We wont be back.

Property is tired and not well maintained. Cigarette butts everywhere. Non smoking room was provided but entire property smells like cigarettes anyhow. Plumbing fixtures were severely outdated and toilets very noisy when flushed (sounded like an airplane engine!). Carpets worn. Very weak insulation between rooms. Any door that opened or closed is felt down the row. Would not stay here again.

I just want everyone to know this place is disgusting. The rooms are filthy, bugs crawling around even a cockroach. They had us in one room and the bed was broke, flooring cracking and dirty. Informed them they should condemn room #2026. They did put us in another that wasn’t much better, we had to clean the sink, dead bugs laying in the bathroom floor. We kept are shoes on cause the floor was dirty. It is very run down and what it shows on Expedia is not what the outside looks like. I have stayed at many Days Inn and really nice but this is just totally disgusting. I did file a complaint with Wyndham about this place. I should have took pictures of the place but I didn’t.

The room was clean. That is the only nice thing to say. The building is falling apart. The grounds are unkempt. People reside there. It is loud with banging doors all night long. We did not get the type of rooms that I booked weeks in advance. Our rooms were not close to each other.

Dealers and prostitutes scattered all around, dirty rooms, floors caving in, staff was not great, wouldn't give me an extra pillow as there was only one in the room, and it was tucked in a cabinet, blood stains on toilet seat, absolutely will NEVER stay there again. Also, the cops and EMS showed up multiple times throughout the night.

My room smelled fresh and clean. The television was up to par. The air conditioner was comfortable. The bathroom was cleaned. The bed. Was comfortable. My overall experience was delightful.

The property has potential but management is not put in any money into this room in room 2026 the floors I came in the bed is broke his roaches everywhere and when I was standing room 2024 same thing roaches doors unsafe and they refuse to accommodate you in any type of way with the discounts for the rooms being subpar the same owner owns motel 6 which I've stayed at and it's the same way rooms are raggedy sevens are messed up floors are messed up

We requested a non smoking room- however we were put in an adjoining room and the person connected to us was smoking. So we smelled smoke all night long. That doesn’t constitute as a non smoking room.

Upon check in, the room was 95 degrees and the air was off. We had to move furniture to plug lights in and found months worth of food crumbs. The mirror and tv looked like someone wiped them with a dirty rag. There was no tv remote so the kid in the lobby made me a key for another room so i could steal their remote. Shower still looked dirty but it was so late we decided to just deal with it until we went to shower and the shower knob fell off, as well as the water was coming half out the shower had and half out the faucet, and it would not drain! Ended up leaving and booking another hotel at midnight! I do NOT recommend this place!

I parked briefly went inside did my registration and grabbed the single door key. I was with my wife and two kids. Got two double beds, on the second floor. The exterior was scary looking. Inside the room was cleaner than expected. But very dated. The toilet paper holder literally hanging from the wall. Fell out when pulled on. We set our stuff down and immediately went for food. Lots of decent food around it. Directly across we found an Italian restaurant. That was a damn good pizza. Returned and was off to sleep. Or so I thought. Around 10:30pm folks started showing up to check in. No a problem but every chirp of the alarm was heard like you were right next to the car. I actually checked to make sure there were no windows open. Not that they could open. The the bikers started rolling in and out. You would think the exhaust was the issue. That doesn't bother me. But their radio's I could hear so clear I was envious of whatever sound system they had. But not at 10:45 at night when my 5 year old was trying to sleep, and so loud I thought we were at a club. This went on to about 3am. About 3:30 my wife was done. We left by 4am

Care in parking lot sitting there with flat tire, looked like there for a while. Adjacent room windows covered with worn and torn curtains. The room made us feel uneasy

The clerk was very friendly, but the property is dated, the window a/c loud, the large window with brilliant lighting, and one of our two trims was dirty with a cockroach in the corner. At the same time, it was a very reasonable rate, but you get what you pay for.

My room was changed two times due to bed bugs . Then I had to leave the property.

I stayed for only one night but during that time there was a huge thunderstorm with tons of rain. I was on the first floor and suddenly noticed there was tons of water on the floor by the door. I tried to soak it up with a towel. Didnt help much. Then i was walking around barefoot and my feet were gross and dirty afterwards. Please mop the floors!! Bed wasnt bad and shower was alright. I wouldn't stay here again though.

It was the worst day I'd ever had at a hotel the light we had a strobe light for the bathroom light the TV kept going on and off the room got flooded because of a storm but it flooded our room and went to open a drawer to put clothes away and there was already closed in it they didn't even clean it and there was a very hateful lady that dealt with us yeah she was trying to blame us for the room getting wet but it was the worst day ever

The place needs major repairs! Mostly bathroom repairs in all areas. We were offered a new room, that was better but still needs updates.

I will NEVER stay at another Days Inn. This place was absolutely disgusting. The room was NEVER even swept. There was dog food kibble and the cellophane from a cigarette pack on the floor from the previous occupant. When the door is closed to the room, you can still see outside cause there is no weatherstrip. The threshold was missing. Just see the video....gross.

Pool had a little bit of trash but not bad. No wifi password was given to use. My request on bottom floor was granted to use because my daughter was on crutches. Meet a couple of nice people who help us with our luggage and also help us find our room. Over it was a good place to stay. The ceiling in the bathrooms needed a little bit updating and saw no bugs at all. Would stay there again!!

Dirty bathroom, literal feces spot on the toilet seat, we felt unsafe, cobwebs, dead insects, clearly the sink and tub were not cleaned, the sheets did not seem to have been changed. Of course a refund was out of the question. We finished our Memorial Day weekend at a different motel.

Older hotel but looks like trying to make it better. Near A/C ,paint and floors, but in rough looking neighborhood. For the price it is a 10. Staff was friendly and efficient. Booked thru my Expedia account and paid a ridiculous low price. Walked in 1/2 hr later and check in went seamless.

When I got to the room, I noticed a stain on the comforter and saw that the AC unit was a basic window unit awkwardly fitted into a floor-to-ceiling setup, not at all what you’d expect in a hotel room. I was immediately getting a bad feeling, and after just a literal minute inside, I decided it wasn’t worth staying. I did not inspect past the first few steps inside. I went back to the front desk and was offered a different room on the front side of the building. When I drove over, there was police presence potentially watching two people on the second floor, and a large dog was barking aggressively from the room next to the one I was supposed to stay in. I left and decided to make the drive back home even though I was exhausted from spending the day at the amusement park. A coworker who came with me stayed behind but ended up leaving after her son found bugs in their bathroom a few hours later. Between the lack of safety, poor room condition, and overall uncomfortable environment, I wouldn’t recommend this motel to anyone. Definitely not the kind of experience I expect when booking through Expedia.

Great customer service

I have stayed at the Ashland Days Inn several times without incident. Yesterday, 6-3-25, I started a shower at approximately 2:15 am. There was no hot water. An inconvenience but when I was done there was water cascading from the ceiling. Moments later water was affecting the living area. No one answered the 'office' phone. I collected my stuff and continued on my way. In my tote bag I found the TV control. Clearing off the side table it must have dropped in. If you want it back I'll put it in the mail when I get back to Florida. I hope the motel didn't suffer significant damage.

Hotel is close to a lot of dining options. I was able to park and see my car from my room. King bed was very comfortable. Staff were friendly. However, my fridge in the room was not cold and my tv was fuzzy.

The stay was fine. There was a few issues. The floor in our room was filthy dirty but the rooms were updated and very nice and we also had a problem with our bathtub. We had no hot water and it was not draining properly overall though it was a great experience

We entered the room we were given and the light between the beds was missing the lampshade. Since we had our child with us and didn’t want her getting hurt on the hot lightbulbs, I talked to the front desk and we were given a different room. Upon getting into the second room we found the bathroom lights to be completely nonfunctional but we didn’t want to deal with moving to yet another room so we decided to just use the flashlights on our phones. While I was in the dark bathroom in the middle of the night a roach crawled out of the broken tile in the corner. We immediately started packing up and left. The front desk was unable to issue a refund because we’d been in the room for more than an hour. We wound up getting home after 3am, making an almost 24 hour day for us and causing us to drive home on no sleep. We were told that the front desk ultimately couldn’t help us with a refund since we went through hotels.com. We’re still waiting on that resolution.

Good price, staff was good. Property seem to be unsafe at nite. A lot of activity, people in cars parked.

It was old and shaky bldg with 2 plugged in but broken ice machines. You could however get ice in the lobby why they didn't just unplug the broken ones and put a sign on there to tell you to go to the office. I really was confused why the machines were still plugged in when the obviously knew they didn't work. No out of order signs just plugged in noise making non-working machine upstairs and downstairs. No good selections at breakfast. 2 types of muffin apples bananas and coffee grape and oj no milk half and half or cereal options.

This property is very good value for a short stay over. We needed a place to sleep that would accept dogs. Reception/check in was very pleasant. Room was adequate but not well maintained and not the cleanest. Breakfast was minimal. I would stay there again while passing through. Couldn’t beat the price and location.

As soon as I walked in the room, it was a family of four roaches walking around. I immediately turned around and gave my hotel keys back to the front desk and purchased another hotel room at a different hotel chain

It was a peaceful 7 nights

They had 18 wheelers in parking lot running engine all night . Coming and going all hours night and morning . Very loud and disturbing. Not a good night sleep

Place was nasty you could tell bed sheets were definitely not fresh there was stuff all over the floor like dirt and gravel one of the lights was just exposed wires called front desk for additional pillows and blankets was told they were locked up can’t get to them do not waste money here lot lizards were running around all evening

The floors were dirty smelled bad and the mini refrigerator was leaking

My stay was great but my room was not so great the showers were still dirty and looked like it wasn’t cleaned also the floors wasn’t swept, and my refrigerator and microwave was nasty , wasn’t very clean at all then the blankets had smoke holes in it and weren’t to clean on top of that the ac didn’t work and it was still hot in the room and the bed frames would stick out so easy for u to hit ur leg boy I hit my over 5 times

It was nice for the Price and was close to the Anime Con I was going too

The rooms were very dirty I checked in and checked out same day!!! I have never had a bad experience with Days Inn!! This was the worse!!! I would have never reserved 3 rooms!! I went by the pictures and descriptions I read about the hotel!!! You bamboozled ME this time!!! Never again!!!!

Property is clean but pretty run down. My room was clean non smoking but still smelled like cat spray. Definitely needed to be deodorized.

Then the next room he moved me to If the shower didn't work, there was no hot water and there were roaches eating my dinner in the refrigerator and the to go box while I got back to the room. So of course, on the 2nd day of my 7 day off trip, I go I try to get out of there. He won't give me a refund. He kept my money and the room sat empty. Stay away from this place. He's a crook. By the way, if you want hot water, you have to call the front desk and ask him to turn the boiler on. I'm telling you, don't stay there. Unless you want the roaches eating your food, you better bring extra bread chips.

It is really dirty in a dirty spot. The “breakfast” was coffee, muffin and apple/banana. Staff was super friendly.

also smelled from heavy smoking I stop in Ashland several times a year, will NOT stay at this Days Inn again

Cold water

Bedding was clean, bathroom was clean. But Floor was filthy, heater woke us every time it went on. Killed three cockroaches. Very poor TV reception.

We knew we had got a lower star hotel because it was just a quick trip overnight but I have stayed in two to three star Days Inns before and they were good this one was not the property around it was disgusting and really sketchy I was very uncomfortable when I got into the rooms because me and a friend had a joining rooms we had two the room smelled so bad and it smelled of weed yes I had gotten a smoking room but this was really bad it was gross you could see nicotine dripping from the walls it was dirty there were holes where people had punched holes in the walls and then we started finding a couple small little cockroaches running around the floor then we found one in the bed then we found a bunch of dead cockroaches around the corners I had left to go and pick somebody up to come back we hadn't even been in the room for 30 minutes yet and I got a call that my friend had found bed bugs in the bed with her child so we immediately got all of our stuff out of the room and I have a video of the bed bugs and went downstairs we showed them the video they did not argue with us at all we showed them the pictures of the Cockroaches they did not argue with us at all they immediately refunded us but this property was horrible I mean absolutely horrible this was ghetto slum horrible

We got two rooms the one room had roaches and the floor was uneven and coming up not safe for children the other room was In cleaner and better condition
