I would’ve liked the pool to be open later than 8:30pm. Also the parking situation sucked. The air in my room stopped but overall it was a nice stay

The larger suite was the perfect size! We unpacked but realized very quickly that our a/c was not working. We called the front desk, and they said they would move us but never followed up. I had to be proactive, so we ended up getting all of our belongings and headed to the front desk to get our room switched. The second room was smaller, but comfortable. Overall, it was comfortable and the bar had pretty good drinks.

We LOVED our stay! Ebony at the front desk was sooooo helpful getting me checked in early so I could decorate our room AND she left notes for the staff to “fake” my check in so he didn’t suspect a thing! The room was clean and not as small as I expected! It was a little tricky to figure out the lights but I like how tech savvy everything was!

Our tiny fridge in the room was non operational when we got there so we called the front desk. Said they would send someone right away to switch it out. Maintenance guy did not show up until the next day close to check out time.

I love the buffet breakfast, the pool, the bath products and the friendliness of the staff. The location is excellent in the heart of the downtown. The rooms are quite tight and I think could use a little more personalization, although the concept is minimalist. The parking can be tricky, with some exorbitantly priced parking garages nearby.

Loved the location, decor and amenities My room never cooled off and the ac unit in the ceiling dripped water in the center of the floor constantly
- 5/5
Good place but just know that all the rooms are small
- 4/5
My stay at Citizen M was nice overall, the only real issues I had were that there was a small leak on our ceiling (though it did go away after a while) , the elevators take forever to open, and there’s no clothes dryer. Considering that they have a pool, they should at least provide us with a dryer.

Love this place!!

One of my favorite parts was how modern and high-tech the hotel felt. It honestly reminded me of a hotel you might find in Tokyo. The entire room could be controlled from the provided iPad, including the lights, temperature, blinds, and entertainment system. It made everything incredibly convenient and gave the hotel a futuristic feel. The hotel was clean, efficient, and designed with technology in mind. If you enjoy modern hotels and want to stay in the heart of downtown Austin, I would definitely recommend citizenM. The only downside was the air conditioning. Despite adjusting the settings, the room never seemed to get very cool, and I was hot throughout the night. It wasn’t enough to ruin the stay, but it did make it difficult to sleep comfortably.

It's a really cool place near everything in downtown Austin.

I loved the location everything was at walking distance. Loved how we controlled everything on an iPad. Great views as well. The elevators were so slow all day long throughout our stay!! At check out time it was even worse! Elevators were jammed packed with people. We were on the 9th floor waited for over 10 minutes to go down, 3 different elevators all fool we didn’t fit. It was just me and my husband and we didn’t fit! We then ended up getting on the elevator going UP waited till we went up to the 17th floor then had to wait to get all the way down but stopping at each floor!

Overall a great hotel, good location, and excellent price. But the bed and pillows were far too firm compared to their parent Marriott, which generally provides a more comfortable stay.

I loved how close it was to sixth street and the easy way to check in, had a great bar Definitly more for a go and party the rooms are smalls so don’t recommend for a long stay

Clean room, delicious breakfast and super nice and helpful staff!
- 5/5
WOW! From check in to check out, this hotel was amazing. All staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Location was a little further away from the main buzz of the city yet still walkable distance. Yes, the rooms are small - yet for a solo traveller , everything I needed. Would certainly be a little cramped if you were sharing. Breakfast buffet was exceptional with a wide selection of healthy options.

The Hotel was modern, and in a great place, and the staff was very accommodating The room could’ve been a little cleaner the chair upholstery needed to be cleaned and there was a lot of dust in the room
- 3.5/5
The hotel was in a great location and the overall stay was enjoyable. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was modern and comfortable, and the amenities were nice for a longer stay. The main issue was that the sheets in the room did not seem clean when I arrived, and the room was also noticeably dusty. Other than that, the stay was good overall.

Nothing We had paid for this hotel in advance. Upon arrival, after a long journey, we were asked to pay again by an arrogant member of staff. We showed them the proof of payment, but that wasn’t enough. We had to call Booking.com ourselves (!) and sort it out. After a 45-minute call and sky-high call charges, they told us that nobody at the hotel was answering the phone. We were left to our own devices and nobody checked up on the hotel. They only asked if we were going to pay. We’ve now paid twice, as we’d had enough of the stress and were exhausted from the journey.

The room is simple yet progressive and hip with technology. The lobby and dining area is artsy and representative of Austin and beyond. Most importantly, the staff was extremely hospitable. The staffing model at Citizen M allows for staff to be cross functional and share the tip pool. They appear to work very well together. The location is also perfect if you wish to enjoy Austin’s downtown charm.

The bad part about my trip was finding parking. It might have been easier if I arrived when it was light outside, but it was dark on a Friday night and people and cars were everywhere on the streets around the hotel. I ended up parking in a gargage that I prepaid for, but the code I was sent to scan didnt work and the machine gave me a ticket and there was no one to talk to at the garage so I had to pay again when I left.

It had what you needed to stay the night in downtown and was clean. Small tight quarters reminded me of a Japanese tyle tight modern app controlled living the a/c in the room didn't blow very hard or cold at all required portable fan, bed was on the medium firm side where I like extra plush its doable for price and location for event but extended stay not as cozy.

Website stated it had breakfast. They didn't say it was a breakfast buffet at 21 dollars a person. Website started parking available. The parking was not hotel owned, you have to pay for public parking. I will not be staying at this hotel chain in the future.

The room was small, but very nice. The hotel was very clean.

There was no water pressure in my 16th floor room. The staff said they could do nothing about getting me a partial refund (since I couldn't shower) because I booked through Hotels.com. Hotels.com has not followed up after promising to advocate on my behalf.

CitizenM is a great hotel if you are looking to stay in a central downtown Austin location in a nice facility and looking for value. While the rooms are small, the second floor is an inviting place to work, hang out and spend time at the hotel out of your room. I've now stayed there multiple times for work and it's been exactly what I wanted it to be each time.
- 2/5
I really didn’t like this hotel. They have limited staff and you have to check in yourself. I wasn’t even welcomed by the staff standing there. There are homeless at night that made it feel unsafe. Hotel was decent enough to let me check out early. The rooms are tiny, water doesn’t get hot enough, bathrooms are smaller then on a cruise ship and bed was not comfy. Don’t recommend at all.

Very nice, modern, minimalistic hotel. Room was cozy and bed comfortable. Great for couples. Check in/out was smooth and staff very friendly and helpful. Bar had great mixed drinks, open late. Lack of on site parking might be a detergent for some people.
- 2/5
Worst hotel ever . No parking on site so we lugged it down the street. I am limited mobility. No staff to help get my stuff up the series of elevators(have to take 2). Room was smaller than my camper, smaller than a cruise ship. YOU CANNOT WALK AROUND THE BED. 1 butt room with bathroom 3ft from your pillow. And bathroom walls were all glass. No plastic cups or glasses. NO FREAKING WASH CLOTHS. There's electrical outlets but some were not working. Hair condiments were in shower but no body wash. No real restaurant on site, but a bar and lots of lounge space. When we checked in there were 6 staff members trying to get you to upgrade to their Bogus travel rewards program, but nobody to help disabled customer with baggage. Or clean your room/towels. For the money this new Eurostyle hotel is the worst of my 200+ experiences. They didn't get zero from me only because of the location and newness.

Property was very clean and the bed was very comfortable! Room was exactly what I needed. The staff was INCREDIBLE!!!!! They were so so so kind and accommodating and 100% made my stay! The design is a little interesting, with red-lit hallways and a balloon picture at end of hallway that reminds me of the movie “It” - definitely eccentric! I wish the iPad worked a little better to control the lights individually and tell the # on the thermometer (it just showed a sliding scale of red vs blue for temperature instead of a number). Also the showers did not get very hot which was very sad. I even asked the front desk and they told me to click this button but it still didn’t get hotter than 100* which is barely over body temperature so the shower felt Luke warm to me. Very very sad after a long chilly day to get into a lukewarm shower!

It was a nice hotel in the middle of downtown Austin, Texas. Very modern age. Everything in the room is controlled by an iPad. Very compact rooms with huge tvs. The bar and restaurant are right next to check in. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. Very good for your dollar. In short it was great. Very hip and cool place to stay. Thanks again citizen M 😎

Lastly, the IPad to control the room is modern but like all attempts to consolidate all functions onto one screen, it is severely lacking in convenience and overall simplicity. Here's a tip CitizenM, just because you can, does not mean you necessarily should.

Clean comfortable bed, nice shower, small rooms. Gym was clean, decent size. Not much staff except for the bar. No real in room amenties
- 3/5
Not impressed. Overall, it smacks of desperation trying to be relevant and trendy. Very strangely out to the rooms that makes it uncomfortable for two people to have enough personal space. The shower is poorly designed with the glass not going all the way down so water leaks out onto the floor when you're taking a shower. In addition, the toilet is housed in a glass box with the shower and every noise and motion can be sensed. The sink is right outside of the bathroom door, but if someone is trying to come out while you're at the sink, you have to move out of the way because there's hardly any room for one person. In addition, the bed is pushed all the way up against the window, so anyone sleeping by the window has to climb over the person on the opposite side to use the facilities at night. The staff was nice, but didn't do much to curb the screaming and banging on the walls by guests next-door. Instead of waiting outside and listening for the noises that I reported, they loudly banged on my door to ask if I made a noise complaint. That alerted my loud neighbors next-door that I had called it in and they quieted down briefly. However, right after security left, they were back to their noisemaking and I had to once again call downstairs. The hotel is pretty in a modern and flashy way, but very impractical in execution. I would not stay here again. I would encourage anyone to look around because for the price you pay, you are not getting your moneys worth

My stay was excellent
- 5/5
Loved the theme, layout, easy check-in kiosk. All the little notes/message easter eggs scattered around the room. The graphic design for the signs. The customizable room lighting. The firm bed. It reminded me of japanese microtel styled rooms. I will definitely be staying here again in my future visits to austin. It would have been even more excellent if they had a built-in parking garage or system so you don't have to find an area/lot on your own so that way it'd be an all-in-one experience, luckily you have a few options close by that utilize apps of their own which didn't make it too much of an inconvenience. (Stayed at indeed parking garage)
- 4/5
Uniqueness of the property and high tech rooms The rooms were pretty small
- 4/5
Very modern. Unique decorations. Self check in and check out. Shampoo, lotion, and soaps available. Even with pictures, I didn't realize rooms were cruise ship cabin size. My tablet for the room would not charge, either with my cable or with tablet provided cables. Eventually tablet died. Reported twice, not fixed before I checked. Was not able to watch TV nor adjust climate controls once the tablet died. In rainy weather, rooftop was restricted; could not get a view for my visit.
- 4.5/5
The decor of the hotel was very modern and eclectic. It's interesting to see all of the fun items throughout. The security of the hotel was good. I felt safe for myself and my daughter. The room was smaller than I expected. There is only one was onto the bed so that makes it difficult in the night if someone needs to get up and use the restroom. The toilet wasn't as clean as I would have liked.
- 3/5
Breakfast was nice. Staff at reception were rather placid. I thought parking was included, but it wasn't. Please note whether parking is included.

Great stay!
- 3/5
It was an okay hotel. Really made me feel like I was a sardine. The bathroom had the sink outside in the hall it's so small. The room is the length of the bed so I had to crawl over my partner to use the bathroom at night. They make you do everything yourself like checking and check out on iPads.they have no valet and no parking for the hotel and they don't validate parking so your on your own. Wasn't for me. Wouldn't go back.
- 5/5
I parked next door and didn't use the car. The room was clean and quiet. Super modern. The shared spaces where fun and comfortable. Saw and amazing show and had great food all in walking distance. Young fun vibes here!
- 2/5
SKIP THIS ONE!!! There is no valet parking- actually they have no parking at all, you have to park across the street in a garage. There is no bellman to help you with your bags. You sign in on kiosks, no staff really. The room was TINY. When I spoke to the employee at the kiosks she said this hotel started in Amsterdam but was recently bought by Marriott but it is not a typical Marriott hotel AT ALL!!!
- 3/5
I know they’re going for a different concept, but the rooms are terrible. I felt like I was staying with Bruce Willis in the 5th Element…e Cept his pod was huge by comparison. The room isn’t big enough for two people to walk past each other at any point. The bathroom is a “pod” that includes toilet and shower in the same space with no real wall between the toilet and the bed. Tv is mounted 2’ above your feet while lying in the hardest bed I’ve ever been on. That was the deal-breaker. Didn’t sleep much of the 3 nights we were there because the mattress was so hard an uncomfortable. Was literally sore the whole trip. Great location, great staff, great bar, unappealing concept, bad rooms, terrible bed. We learned our lesson. Won’t be back.

Great stay overall! The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The location was convenient with shops and restaurants nearby. The gym was decent and had enough equipment for a quick workout. I would definitely stay here again.
- 4/5
The location was absolutely fantastic it was right there between 6th street and 7th street. The check in process is super easy I like being able to do self check in with help on standby. For the self check in alone I will come back to citizen M The room is tiny but it had everything you needed. No wasted space. I did not like the IPAD remote for the TV. I would have liked a regular remote. The Smart TVs in hotels are getting too smart.
- 4/5
Great location, close to Congress and Town Lake. Rooms are small but bed extremes comfortable, I hadn’t slept that well in years. No coffee makers in the room. European style breakfast buffet.
- 5/5
Nothing really to complain about
- 4.5/5
Convenient location in downtown, modern and clean rooms. The room's acoustic isolation isn't very effective, and the gym should have one more bench.
- 5/5
Jim was great getting us a more quiet room, lots of street noise. Loved rooftop pool. Good variety of food for breakfast. Bacon and eggs could have been warmer. No one told me until our last day that special coffees were included w breakfast! I love a latte.
- 3.5/5
Food was not very good. That was the most disappointng part.
- 5/5
Great hotel, nice open space area, good food, nice pool bar and ideal central location.
- 3/5
Weird. Sterile. Sleeping in pods where the shower and toilet aren’t really in a separate space. If you’re a total introvert and want limited interaction with human staff, then this would be fine (everything is self).
- 3/5
Where the stay really fell apart was the tech. The TV settings are completely locked down. Motion smoothing is permanently on, so anything filmed at 24fps looks like a soap opera. In a city that hosts SXSW, that’s a wild choice. You also can’t adjust brightness, sound EQ, or even turn on closed captions. That’s a serious accessibility issue. I ended up standing on the bed trying to reach the physical buttons because the iPad controller doesn’t allow basic functions. Speaking of the iPad: it controls everything, but doesn’t improve anything. The thermostat is just a vague color slider instead of numbers. The single RGB shower light feels like the only reason the iPad exists. And with no window to crack open, one warm shower turns the whole (small) room into a sauna. Breakfast was also overpriced for what it was. It was cheaper (and better) to eat across the street. citizenM has a cool vibe and great lobby spaces, but the room tech gets in the way of comfort. Give guests normal controls and this place would be a much easier recommendation.

Hotel was clean and updated. Very different than any place we have ever stayed before. Room was small but big enough for the two of us and had all we needed. Only thing we were not super fond of was the AC control for the room. It was on a tablet (which was fine) but you can’t adjust it to a specific temperature (you have the option of cool-warm on a sliding scale and can adjust fan speed). It seemed like in

Fine if you are young not so fine if like us you are in your 70’s!

Be aware, the rooms are TINY. Like cruise ship cabin small. Other than that, the stay was fine for one night. The price was high for what you get.

The room was the size of a closet. Some of the staff were very unwelcoming. You have to check yourself in and out (I know, first world problems). We had problems getting clean towels and toilet paper. It was a terrible experience all around.

Street noise, no fan or sound machine, no single sheet - just a heavy comforter which didn’t even go across the whole width of bed. More hooks to hang towels would be nice too.

The staff was wonderful. The common areas were great. The breakfast buffet was nice and the coffee was great. The room was way too small and I was not crazy about the things in room being controlled by iPad. Too high tech for my taste.

Nice staff, clean yet small room, the lobby and bar area is very nice too, and the downtown location is outstanding.

The staff at the check-in table were great, but the rest of the experience at this hotel feels like half the room and amenities for full price. Even the nice rooftop bar/pool was cramped.

Parking; no parking on premise. Understandable as it’s downtown. We parked one block away. $52 for the 20 hours. No in and out privileges. Rooms: clean and efficient but tiny. My rooms have been significantly bigger on every cruise I’ve taken. We had a king but it was against the window so the only way to get in our out was to crawl over my husband. Rooftop bar: tried to access it but it was closed at 8:30 PM. Apparently seasonable. Loved the location and convenience but not a great hotel.

The hotel is located in the heart of downtown Austin. I was able to walk to the Capital, Paramount Theatre, Austin Visitor Center, and restaurants. The hotel staff was welcoming and friendly. The hotel is modern and everything in the room is controlled by the IPAD. The decor in the lobby is colorful, vibrant and inviting. The hotel has a microwave in the dining area of the hotel and a small refrigerator in the rooms. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family.

The rooms are tiny. The tech is good in concept but everything is controlled by an iPad that kept hanging and we had to call the front desk multiple times. There was also dripping water for most of our stay - the front desk was clearly giving people the runaround as they were just saying they’d provide towels to put on the floor. Ridiculous attitude and a definite AVOID!

Also, for self checkin, they made me still show ID and CC. That felt duplicative. And then when it shows you the room number, the only way to keep it is to take a picture- it can't even text you or email you your info? That feels weird since it's such a tech-savvy hotel otherwise. Also, they charge for EVERYTHING which feels a bit much. Some amenities like a bottle of water or a light breakfast or even free coffee might be nice considering hotels half the cost would do at least that. And charging for a late checkout is insane.

These are the smallest rooms I’ve ever put eyes on. My long body and arms could touch each wall with zero space to give. Lobby bathrooms were larger than the actual rooms. Knock out some walls and make one room instead of four.
- 5/5
Very clean and the staff was kind and helpful!
- 4/5
The common area was amazing and really chill. The rooms were clean and small, I'll definitely upgrade to accessible room next time. The only reason I didn't leave 5 stars is because the associates working here were not very nice and did not make us feel very welcomed. It was like it was a drag we were there. I'm like "this is a hotel and I'm paying to be here"!

There was no ice available, however the staff was kind enough to fill our water bottles for us. One afternoon we went to get a cocktail and the bartender was less than friendly. She ignored us and continued to move some cups around, not even acknowledging we were there.
- 3/5
Rooms are so small and was never mentions literally have to walk in a line to get around
- 4/5
General cleanliness and theme of the hotel is 5 stars. However, if you are going to have a lobby bar and restaurant don't charge $60 for a drink and nachos with literally 5 pieces of meat in them. Also, don't advertise that you have a rooftop pool and keep it closed the entire time.
- 5/5
Clean, great rooms. Ideal for business travel. Great check in and checkout. Nice lobby bar.

- 5/5
The wall to wall window, cool lights, and remote control everything make up for the small spaces. The breakfast is always the best part. The citizenM has become my favorite downtown Austin stay.
- 2/5
Overall, will never stay in this type of lodging again.
- 5/5
Wish it had a parking garage , thankfully we didn’t have a hard time finding parking during our stay close to the hotel
- 2/5
We were appalled at the size of the minuscule room —much smaller than the cruise ship cabin in which we’re now staying. Although the bed was comfortable, it was quite difficult to climb over my husband to get to my side of the bed (reminded us of camp bunkers at kid summer camp or highly-cramped train cabin). There was no coffee pot, no OPEN rooftop bar as advertised (even on a holiday weekend night)…. VERY DISAPPOINTED (and downright “weird) hotel. The attendant who told us how to check ourselves in was cordial, but we will NEVER stay there again & will DEFINITELY NOT recommend this property to others. What a joke!
- 4/5
Bathroom well designed with a sink in the room. Hanging and storage drawers were also excellent
- 2/5
Tried their lunch and the fries were not cooked all the way. Sadly, I cannot recommend this hotel but I will say the lobby decor is cool, however, they missed the mark on too many basics. Hopefully they will make necessary improvements.
- 5/5
Was great
- 5/5
Always a clean, safe, and comfortable stay. Many dining options nearby.
- 3/5
This is a self-claimed 4-star hotel with 2.5-star amenities and service. The other reviewers have already commented on the ultra small rooms, but that is tolerable as I find my room to be functional enough for a single traveller. The computerized control worked well enough for me, and there was always friendly help at self check in/check out. However, when I checked in, there were no cups or glasses in the room. When I called the front desk to ask for them, I was told to go downstairs to the bar to get some for myself. Not what one would expect for anything more than a motel.
- 3/5
Tiny rooms, maybe I should've read the fine print better, but was shocked at the micro rooms. The property itself is nice, modern, clean, good service, excellent location if you want to be downtown, I just wasn't prepared for how small the rooms are. Bang for your buck it isn't bad, but 2 people in one of those rooms is pretty snug. Wish the listing would have mentioned that somewhere in the description.
- 1/5
No clue where the confirmation emails went but I never received a call when I did not check in. This trip was cancelled well before but I'll not be using this hotel again.

Room was very clean, loved the high-tech functionality of the room. Room was on the small side made it a little difficult maneuvering but we managed. Only drawback pool closed every night by 8:30. Would’ve liked to be able to sit at the pool more in the evening.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel
- 4/5
Great staff especially Jeffery. Water was not as hot I like. Smaller room. Very kind staff all of them.
- 4/5
Their website says the room has a refrigerator, but it is a "cooler" that I suppose if you buy ice for will keep cold stuff cold.
- 5/5
Amazing breakfast with barista coffee. Rooms were clean and had everything one would need for your stay. Will return to this location!!
- 5/5
Breakfast was really good, but it wasn't free as indicated in the above question. Check-in and out process was easy, ability to control lighting in the room was excellent

- 3/5
There were no glasses for water. The shower didn’t get hot. The check in was do it yourself which felt cheap. Super noisey outside. Felt like the budget was blown on the lobby instead of more space in the rooms themselves.
- 5/5

- 5/5
Easy and modern!
- 5/5
I will bullet point The rooms are great, yes they are kind of small but as long as you’re not planning on spending too much time in them, it’s not a problem. The hairdryer wasn’t very good, but that’s my only complaint! The pool area was really nice depending on what time of year you are there you will get a few hours of sun. The lobby area was brilliantly decorated and it was always a good buzz there. The staff were incredible. They went above and beyond for example when my luggage hadn’t arrived on my flight they made phone calls to the airport to get it delivered to the hotel eventually plus they were always around for a chat and offered good advice for things to do. The location was perfect close enough to walk to many places I didn’t have the breakfast there, but it looked really good.
- 5/5
- 5/5
The kind welcome at check-in as well as the clean, comfy room are what brought me back to Citizen M. I’m very happy there.
- 5/5
Clean comfortable, convenient, and easy check-in/checkout.
- 4/5
The rooms are small, if you are a larger person, traveling with family, or get anxious in small spaces, these rooms are not for you. Note to staff the staircases need a refresh, cleaning/repainting with better signage

Citizen M Austin pics look super cool online- modern/retro tasteful decor- but, in reality everything is way too small- especially the rooms. We felt like we opened the door to a tiny super modern, cruise ship stateroom or hotel in Japan. It was hard for 2 people to move around the king room. The pillows were set up so one person would need to climb over the other to get out of bed- odd! The shower/toilet is a glass stall in the middle of the small room/ no privacy or space whatsoever. The sink is squished in the middle of the bedroom/ no place to do hair/makeup if that’s your thing. The rooftop bar/pool area looked great in the photos- but was too small and closed by 8:30 pm - the rooms are all controlled by a tabletop iPad, which we didn’t know, so we had a hard time getting lights on/off, shades up/down,.. but laughed about it all afterwards. The staff was friendly, everything was clean, plenty of amenities and things to keep you occupied, if needed. The location was great- close to a lot of great bars/restaurants and parking. We found a street parking spot right outside hotel and paid $15 to park. All in all, if you know all of this ahead of time and are good with it- that’s great! We would’ve liked a little more space and thoughtful room design.
- 1/5
They need to advertise better that the room is a tiny, non-conventional room. It reminded me of a cruise ship cabin with the bed squeeze between two walls and a window. The worst part was them refusing to refund me once I told them I need to check out and find a real hotel room with a bit of space to host a guest or two. I'll be happy to remove this rating if they give me my refund, I'm not holding my breath though. Anyone Expedia or I have spoken to in their reservations department seem greedily beholden to their policy of no refunds. So far I've paid for three nights at more than $1200 for this place, and was only in the cabin for 5 minutes. Not cool.
- 4/5
The room was clean the amenities in the room super modern, staff was helpful.
- 5/5
Incredibly diverse atmosphere, including the food and drinks. I loved the diversity of the guests, too, and the communal feeling.
- 5/5
The hotel is very nice. It is clean, the staff is very helpful, and the technology-forward approach is very cool (but admittedly in an anti-social way). I stayed here because I have an inordinate fear of bed bugs, and I read the reviews that said CitizenM takes the necessary precautions, which I deeply appreciate. You can tell that the room is clean as a whistle the second you walk in. I will say, I didn’t care about how tiny the room was, I actually kind of liked that it felt like a bedroom and I kind of wish my own bedroom could have a mounted tv like that, haha. However, I did not like that I didn’t have ready access to drinking water. I had to patronize the nearby CVS and 7/11 multiple times just to get new bottles (which I hate doing) because I didn’t think to bring my hydroflask. This goes hand-in-hand with my dislike of the lobby’s “CanteenM” idea, as I would far prefer a vending machine (or even as an addition would be just fine!). Overall, I’m not complaining. I got sleep. It was clean. I took a shower. Ate food in my room. I even used the gym. Whole nine yards. I just wish there was just one or two QOL changes like adding a vending machine (it can be a hipster, healthy vending machine since that’s your aesthetic, but a vending machine nonetheless).
- 5/5
Small, efficient rooms. Perfect for my needs.
- 4/5
Small room, but good price! I’ll look around more for an alternative hotel since the room didn’t have a microwave or a real refrigerator, which for me is a part of my daily routine for tea and dairy products for my breakfasts. There was an annoying flashing white light from the smoke alarm over the bed, but when I asked about it, the front desk just commented, “Yeah that’s a common complaint…” WHAT? But good location in downtown Austin.
- 4/5
The tv channels needed the most work. Some did not correspond to the icons. And in the night of the World Series I could not get the game.
- 1/5
Very clean, very small rooms, check in was a pain and no WiFi for a day
- 4/5
Cool place that feels a little bit like living on a space station. Staff were great. It’s secure, private, affordable. Great artwork and lots of things to look at in the lobby area!
- 5/5
Nice place close to 6th street
- 3/5
Several problems . No internet for the first day which meant that keys didn't work, cash only at the bar. This also resulted in the curtains going up automatically the next day very early in the morning, cash only at the bar etc. The room is very very small and the price isn't low enough to justify it. Fuse blew when using a curling iron. No parking. Hotel can't be called form outside the hotel, you only get a robot. It's a good loctation , nut over priced for what you get.
- 4/5
pretty basic - clean and comfortable. Room tablet was nice and convenient.

Great modern hotel and staff
- 5/5
This is probably one of my favorite stays ever. Such a clean hotel, the room is perfect - has everything you need and super clean. Lots of fun tech too. Everyone working there was super friendly. The pool is lovely and gets nice sunlight. Loved it!
- 5/5
The staff was friendly and helpful when checking in. The room was clean and organized.
- 5/5
Fun hotel!!... Great staff, very friendly. Rooms and general area is well maintained and clean. Room are small, but full amenities and good layout, perfect for one person or a couple.
- 5/5
Gorgeous hotel. Friendly staff.
- 4/5
We thought a lot of the staff was rude and stand-offish. The hotel looked great…room was very comfortable and well supplied.
- 3/5
Bed was super hard
- 5/5
Beautiful building. Love the modern touches.
- 4/5
Ac wasn't cold enough and the streaming on the TV didn't work. According to staff several people were having this issue.
- 5/5

- 5/5
Very nice but small rooms ..
- 5/5
Loved the room! Staff was friendly and helpful. Great location as well.
- 5/5
Nice hotel in a good area
- 4/5
Clean modern room. Great helpful staff. My only complaints were no wash cloths in the bathroom and no top sheet on the bed.
- 4/5
Clean, small room. Very self service with minimal staff
- 5/5
The check in process was so easy and seamless
- 3/5
The stay was nice but not fantastic. The staff that checked me in were very friendly. The room was cozy and clean, but I found myself missing traditional amenities like a coffee machine and iron. The mini fridge was barely large enough to hold leftovers and since mine was not working properly I ended up having to toss the food anyway. The technology (ipad controls) were cool but finicky. I disliked needing to find and turn on the iPad for simple tasks like turning on the lights and adjusting the tv volume. I also found that rooms did not block out much noise. I was woken up a couple times by housekeepers conversations and other guests entering/exiting rooms. The one time I ordered from the hotel restaurant my fries were undercooked and I was given the incorrect drink order. Overall, the stay was okay. I will likely go with a traditional hotel next time.
- 5/5
There is a cool vibe from the hotel. Very close to restaurants, shops, and bars. Close to the state capitol and the Colorado river. Excellent location.
- 3/5
Got my itemized bill and each day was a different cost of the room. Varied from $126 to $169 per day. Very odd. I will not be staying there again.
- 5/5
Everything worked out perfectly nothing negative to say would stay again !

first of all there is no pull up to check in. I had to circle the block a couple times, find parking and drag my stuff down the elevator, down the street, up to the second floor to check in. It is a boutique hotel, popular in Austin. Room is very small, not a problem since I was by myself. But bed is placed lengthways up against the window. If I was with the wife, one of us would have to climb over the other to get out to bed. tv, curtains, lights all controlled by an iPad. boutiquey (cute I guess) but Im lazy. just give me a switch or remote. Breakfast was $22, expected. Overall stay was ok, but at $200/night not first class
- 5/5
Very interesting, trendy hotel. Great value and location. Would stay again.
- 3/5
You have to pay for everything, from parking to breakfast, the bar, nothing is free. The room was very small. It’s literally a room for two only. Staff was friendly. Amenities close really early even on the weekend. I wouldn’t stay again.
- 4/5
Friendly staff! Safe area, walkable everywhere. They'll tag your bags day of arrival or departure if you need to. Don't buy the breakfast in advance. Good spot, very comfortable beds, excellent option for those traveling lean.

CitizenM never disappoints

Thank you

Hyper-modern experience. Very restful stay. The lighting automation in the rooms was intuitive and easy to use. The room is on the smaller side but was perfect for me, very comfortable bed, bedding, big shower. Enjoyed casting my youtube media from phone to the screen for entertainment.
- 4/5
The room was clean but be prepared for it to be very small. The size of a cruise ship room.
- 4/5
Room was very, very small. Parking is a nightmare. Staff are very accommodating. Price is compelling.
- 5/5
Great modern funky hotel. Close to all restaurants, bars and nightlife. Recommended.
- 2/5
Staff was horrible. It was like they were willing because they had to buy didn't want to be there.
- 5/5
It was good
- 5/5
Loved the unique look and feel of the room.
- 5/5
Love this place!! upbeat!! great check in system warm affable staff. A definite will-do again.
- 5/5
Everything!!!
- 5/5
I love this place! The only complaint I have is that the elevators are slow. But I will gladly stay here again on my future visits to downtown Austin!
- 5/5
Loved the hotel vibe and view. Great pool, great gym. What else could I ask for??
- 2/5
They also have no reception desk or traditional staff to speak of as far as we could tell. The only person who spoke to us was a guy in a hoodie, and he looked almost surprised that anyone wanted to talk to him. However, if you’re in your 20s or 30s and want a space where you can work on a laptop and actually talking to anybody isn’t really a priority, this might really work out for you.
- 5/5
Very affordable, friendly helpful staff. Over all great vibe right in the middle of the city. Highly recommend
- 5/5
Stay was amazing will book again
- 5/5
I had the best experience with this hotel. Was able to do early check in and late check out, room was very nice and clean, great amenities (I enjoyed the gym and pool). They have very good buffet breakfast.

Brilliant for the money. Very clean and modern. Bed was a little hard for my liking but would definitely stay again.
- 4/5
Trying to find parking was difficult. Would've liked to have more space in my room. There was some defective things in the room that works sometimes. Overall, he was a good stay.
- 5/5
You will never find any other place like this in Texas. Too deep to explain
- 5/5
Loved it ! Will be back
- 2/5
Very very small rooms. Probably not large enough for 2. Was charged $177/night in Sept after booking in April. Online rate upon arrival was just $90 for same Sat night. The CitizenM concept is not for me.
- 5/5
This hotel is perfect
- 4/5
It is located downtown. It does not have parking in the building. There is available parking garage across the street. The rooms are small but good. It is a different feeling from a normal hotel
- 5/5
Elevators were dramatically slow our last 2 days
- 5/5
Great hotel
- 5/5
Had a very nice experience/stay.
- 5/5
The rooms were so cute compact. I enjoyed my stay and I will be back.
- 5/5
Cool

The hotel was very nice- rooms may be small but they utilize every sq ft of space and the fact you can control everything from the iPad they supply was very interesting and fun. The floor manager Jim ( I only assume he is the floor manager) was absolutely fantastic to deal with - he was extremely nice and thorough - actually I have travelled and stayed at many hotels over the years and I can honestly say without doubt Jim is the best floor manager - concierge I have ever experienced. Thx Jim you helped make this weekend trip to Austin Texas a wonderful time.

Best hotel experience!
- 5/5
We loved our cozy room and the fun communal areas at this hotel. We will be booking again for sure.
- 5/5
Great hotel. Trendy, clean and friendly staff. The room was small and minimalist with clean lines. Everything was controlled by iPad. It felt like crew quarters on the starship Enterprise.
- 5/5
Location was perfect and easy access to popular restaurants, museums and other attractions. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. We definitely stay here again. Parking is offsite but convenient. Didn’t enjoy the garage not being part of the hotel but not a deal breaker.
- 5/5
Great hotel!
- 3/5
The rooms here are super TINY! King size bed touches 3 of the walls. The toilet/shower combo is in the room with tinted glass. The sink is in the room. The fridge is a small drawer cooler. No parking. The underground parking garage (not included) across the street is expensive and brings you up a block away. Everything here is cramped and claustrophobic. It takes 2 elevator rides to go from road level to third floor and there was usually a 15 minute wait for the elevators. It’s fancy with all sorts of “smart” switches, tv, etc. no tv remote, instead an iPad mini. You leave and all the blinds close, TV turns off, and lights turn off. Very confusing and frustrating. Nicely decorated, nice staff, and clean, but a little too untraditional for me. Breakfast buffet option was $50 a day. Didn’t look like it was worth it. Bring your own water!
- 3/5
Top room floor small, no room, at all I would request a room with more comfort. A woman wanted to pick a fight in the lobby because I was looking in her direction. I would suggest to book a know hotel while traveling during business but if you’re in college this is more your comfort level.

I love this place! Everytime i’m in Austin, I book this hotel!

The hotel is in a very convient place and the staff is excellent. My inly gripe is how small the rooms are. If you are a bigger person this may not be the place for you.
- 4/5
Pool was very nice. Very clean room. Convenient location.
- 5/5
Pleasantly surprised! It was far less expensive than the other hotels in downtown Austin so I wasn’t sure what to expect. It’s cool, stylish, clean and perfect for what I needed. Bed and bedding were to die for! I will 100% be back. It’s very self-service, which I didn’t mind at all, but also has everything you need for a super comfortable, modern and pleasant stay.
- 5/5
Great new aged hotel.
- 4/5
This was a great place to stay for my weekend trip. Conveniently located in the heart of downtown so lots of the attractions were in walking distance.
- 5/5
Would definitely return
- 2/5
These rooms are smaller than a cruise ship, if you’re alone it is a decent room, but for 2 people it is crammed without any privacy. You can literally hear everything that’s going on in the toilet area(not bathroom because it’s in the same room). Cute idea but I’ll pay for a real room next time somewhere else
- 5/5
It was convenient and close to where I needed to go. I did enjoy the ease of the check in and out via app
- 5/5
Great, spotless property. The pool is awesome on rooftop with a view
- 5/5
Good experience nice location
- 5/5
First time here and it was great. I like the room and how the iPad controlled everything from the lights, blinds, to the tv. Will definitely be back
- 5/5
I absolutely loved my stay here! The design is so unique and stylish, every detail feels thoughtfully done. The vibe of the place is just amazing — relaxing yet full of energy at the same time. It’s the kind of spot I’d happily come back to once a month, no question. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a hotel that feels special and memorable!

Convenient hotel in the heart of the city with convenient automation and innovation that puts the guest comfort on a new level at an insanely affordable price.

I wanted to like this hotel, I had high hopes for it. Pros: nice pillows, good sized bed and awesome window. High tech lights and temp controlled via a tablet, which was both cool and annoying. Cons: they conducted a fire alarm test at 7am (sirens and lights with announcements), which sucked. They only offer lights cleanings on demand, which is fine, I opted for one cleaning during my stay, but it wasn’t great. They took the towels and didn’t replace them. Cups are meant to come with the room (there’s a little drawer for them) but no cups on arrival - staff handed me one when I went to check with reception. Ironing is available in a shared ironing room on each floor, which was just a bummer. It was close to where we needed to be, and I got good sleep when fire alarms weren’t going off and my neighboring guests weren’t hotboxing their rooms (weed smell came into the room daily at 10am). The black out blinds were amazing. Pool was lovely, and staff for the most part were helpful.
- 5/5
Great location. We were able to check in early. Everything was amazing.
- 5/5
The nearby area is walkable, but can be a bit sketchy sometimes.
- 3/5
Property and front desk staff were great. Bad things (1) fire alarm drill @ 6:30am! (2) no hot water at 8am
- 3/5
The room was extremly small, very european in design and nature. There is also no parking offered so you have to use a public garage which is rather expensive. It was a very clean room however and adequate for a single person.
- 5/5
Very nice and clean hotel! I really enjoyed my stay
- 5/5
The rooms are small but they havebwhat you need! Everything is card only. The only thing did not like was parking. Its not complementary or attached to the building. Other than that, loved my 1 night stay!
- 5/5
Very nice hotel!
- 4/5
Great service, clean room, wifi, dining and bar. No onsite parking and its a hike from public parking to the hotel, no USB ports in room, and no wash cloths only towels.
- 5/5
Loved the modern concept
- 1/5
It was small awful felt like a camper room was super hott
- 5/5
Hip and modern but still very comfortable and cozy.
- 4/5
Bad: Rooms are very small. Shared ironing area
- 5/5
Great hotel
- 5/5
Just wow, this place is a hangout place in it's self. My room was cozy and modern, lights controlled from a tablet, on/off, or change the color it's there. I loved it. My first time being out of my house in a few years, and this place being mainly hands off it was a dream for me. Anxious people, introverts you guys would like this like I did.
- 5/5
Best hotel in Austin!!
- 5/5
So clean, quiet, easy check in and out, the tech is so great, and I love the minimalistic approach! The only thing that would be nice is that the garage parking would be less expensive, $67 for 2 days was very crazy, I know the location is downtown but maybe get discounts with the parking garage or something. I saved staying at this hotel but paid it back with the parking garage. Anyways, great hotel full of comfort and easy access.

I was in Austin for Business and this hotel worked out great.

A little noisy for our taste but our teenagers loved it! Very cool, trendy and modern. Rooms were clean but very small especially the shower. So if you're a big, tall guy like my husband you won't be too comfortable in the room.
- 4/5
Very clean. Minuscthe AC not working our 2nd night. They repaired within 30 min. Everything was great.
