- Helpful and friendly front desk staff
- Affordable price and great service
- Dirty and outdated rooms with reports of bedbugs, roaches, and mold
- Unsafe and shabby property in a bad area

Eric the manager was amazing, as well as the security guard. Very friendly and helpful staff. The property is dated but clean. Right next to a an also very good Mexican restaurant. It’s Austin so a lot of homeless in the area.

Honestly this hotel is in the worst possible place. We pulled up late at night and there were homeless people everywhere. We witnessed people doing drugs and a lady on the street corner begging for food. It was terrible. The room doors open to the outside so I absolutely did not feel safe staying there with my daughter. I contacted the hotel by phone to tell them we were cancelling because of the situation and they refused to give us our money back. We did NOT stay there and we went down the road and found a better location and stayed in a different La Quinta Inn. You would think because we continued to stay in the same hotel chain that they would refund our money but absolutely not the case. So, I paid for two different hotels in two different locations for the same nights.

The staff there was great, the front desk manager was super helpful house keepers were great everyone was happy, working, and friendly. The place was super clean and breakfast was good. Location is sketchy but the property is secure at night. The building needs updated but that's not anything the employees can do. The owner needs to invest in a remodel.

Facility is dirty, however, inside room is clean. Staffs are helpful. Breakfast is horrible. Ppl next room and around were so loud. We couldn’t sleep at all. The hotel is at a busy intersection. We could hear cars passing by all night long.

The door to my room was missing part of the door facing, which means that the lock was actually exposed and not secure. A swift kick to my door would have opened it. These outside stairs going down from the second floor to the first had wire doors or gates at the ground floor. One of those gates was missing the hardware to open it. If I had gone down that staircase because of a fire, I would’ve been trapped at the bottom.

Great property, was looking forward to an extended stay while I collect enough paychecks to verify income for an apartment. Staff was all cool, I even asked for a job application. But I was accused of smoking in the room when that didn't happen. Was denied a room on my birthday at 2AM for this reason. Would love to clear this up and would have no problem removing my review. Being accused of smoking in my room when I did not do that was kind of a bummer.

Although the 8-10 foot fence around the property made me a little apprehensive, I felt safe knowing that they have taken precautions for that. The room was perfect! It was clean and well maintained. The staff was very friendly and helpful!! The property is currently doing renovations and upgrades, so some parts of it were not accessible. I would not hesitate to book this property again. It is close enough to downtown Austin to make drive short and far enough away that the price is reasonable.

This place was a complete disaster. The front desk staff was unprofessional and completely unresponsive to our family emergency. Expedia and I kept trying to call, but the man at the desk claimed he couldn’t hear the phone because of the weather. Within the 15 minutes of booking the room, I canceled due to a family emergency. The business showed no compassion. They offered no form of reimbursement or credit. As a military family who frequently travels, we understand that emergencies can happen, but this place didn’t even offer any empathy. There are countless other motels in the area that would have handled this situation better. If you’re looking for a business that prioritizes the needs of its customers, this place is definitely not the one for you.

This was my second year returning to La Quinta. I stayed a week and it was great ? I had small issues with a few front desk, one didn’t want to change my room to downstairs and another didn’t let me take my free coffee and toast to my room. But the Owner is a sweet lady and easy to talk to and my was changed to a comfortable down stairs room ? that was much easier on my sciatica ? Security man knocked on my door at 4:00 am to tell me my window was cracked open a bit ?

Not clean and not worth of money
- 2/5
Also, the rooms need serious updates and cleaning. The phone in the room was not working and the restroom shower head was leaking. Also the gate that you have to enter to access your rooms from the outside was right outside our room and the noise from it was very loud and annoying any time someone went through it. Area is also kind of sketchy. Kind of pricey for that type of property. And the only entrance to get into the property was really inconvenient.
- 5/5
Everything was great. Staff are polite
- 4/5
Other than my shower going cold. I had a wonderful stay, staff was kind and friendly.
- 4/5
The host or front desk is very knowledgeable about the city tourist attractions.
- 3/5
They are currently doing some renovations, our room was fairly clean, some spots were a little dirtier than others but no major red flags. The AC kept us cool, and I’m sure the heat would’ve work if we needed. We didn’t have an clean services but saw them active around the property. The staff was friendly, especially the security guard! The pool was kind of gross and unclean, and freezing, didn’t end up getting in.
- 2/5
The AC barely kept the room cool. The whole place was somewhat run-down and not the cleanest. Breakfast was shown as being until 10am on weekends, but the person in charge started putting things away at 9am and when another guest pointed out that the sign said 10am, he gruffly told her that things had changed.
- 3/5
Staff was very friendly. Room was a good size. Pillows were comfortable and each bed had 4, which I appreciate because I like a lot of pillows. It was pretty obvious that the bathroom hadn't really been cleaned. There were "leftover" traces (hairs) from previous occupants. While the pillows and bedding were great, the beds themselves weren't too comfortable. This isn't the hotel's fault, but there were quite a few panhandlers and drug addicts surrounding the area, just so you know (they didn't interact with us, though). The hotel was pretty secure, though, with multiple points secured behind key card entry.

The front desk and manager were friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately the area is not safe, our room was not cleaned or beds made, others rooms were not clean or made as well. I felt bad for the manager and front desk person. They did give us a refund and we ended up staying in a more expensive nice hotel downtown. We were just passing the so thought a clean inexpensive hotel would be perfect, unfortunately this wasn’t it.

A staff member rudely targeted a guest at the breakfast bar and accused him of not being a guest and forced him to proof he was a guest, This was done in front of everyone that were dining at the time. The worst part of this story is in the morning a woman now checking me out asked if everything was okay, I told her I was disappointed about getting locked out and the whole story. He could have called my room when I got back amd said I need to pay or leave. I am handicapped and after all that driving just wanting to eat and collapse I spent 20 minutes dealing with bozo the clown. Acting like I did something to personally offend him. Anyway a manager heard me telling her my story amd tried interrupting me and LYING. "He did not lock you out of your room, it was just a coincidence, that happens sometimes, we would not lock you out like that". Ok you lying jerk. He physically lockes the door and had to walk down and unlock it. "Oh, ok, sorry". They gave me the $25 back. There was no need to make me feel like a criminal.

The toilet didn't flush well and clogged the first time I used it. The breakfast was ok. It wasn't great but it was serviceable. My key card stopped working before my stay was completed and I didn't have it near my phone so that wasn't the issue. Everything about my stay was serviceable. Middle of the road quality.

The staff likes to knock and they open your hotel room door simultaneously. It's so rude and disrespectful. Every good hotel knocks a few times within at least 30 seconds to a minute to give you time to answer or come to the door B4 they come into the room. They come in within 3 to 5 seconds after knocking. This is the 2nd time this yr it's happened here. It's almost like they are trying to see what you are doing.

I reserved for 4 days, then had to leave 2 days early. La Quinta said they had no problem refunding those 2 days, but Expedia had to ok it. Expedia said no one was answering the phone at the hotel. As I was standing at the front desk when Expedia claimed they were calling, The business office was 10 ft away. I know this was not a case of the hotel staff not answering. On a previous visit to Austin, we had the same problem at a nearby Wyndham. In that case, we left the Wyndham Garden Hotel to get a room at the La Quinta Oltorf, which was closer to the surgeon I was scheduled to see. Expedia claimed no one was answering their phone call, etc. Eventually, we were refunded for days we did not stay. Expedia still refuses to refund for the last stay. Pretty doubtful we'll use Expedia again.

I think the addition of a fence around the property really does keep out a lot of unsavory people On that note, there are a lot of suspicious people around It is across the street from a chipotle so that makes it convenient It is close to a lot of cool things It is a nice practical location, but it’s not comfortable
- 1/5
This hotel is so run-down it is a total disgrace to the La Quinta Hotel chain name. Trust me read all of the other reviews. This (my) complaint is not unique to this property! I really wish I would have taken more time and properly researched the property before I booked it. It was Formula 1 weekend and everything was sold out. The cleaning staff tracked in dirt / gravel from outside. Multiple sleeper sofas were stacked outside in the parking lot. Got bitten by multiple of some kind of insects in the bed. Overheard multiple complaints about bed bugs during breakfast. The hotel was booked so you couldn't change rooms. Person told me he had to sleep in the chair. Manager called back to actually argue w/ me about how he had never gotten any complaints about bed bugs, yet how do you explain the multiple stacks of sleeper sofas in the parking lot that looked serviceable? The dining area is dated, dirty and disorganized. It is completely un-appetizing, and certainly not somewhere you would want to eat a meal in. As are the rooms, dated, disgustingly dirty, falling apart and just gross. The shower controls made zero effect on changing the water temperature. Stay elsewhere, as I wouldn't even take the $79 (10%) rebate offer from the manager, and I will never stay there again, and probably never stay at another La Quinta ever again either.

Visited Austin for the F1.
- 3/5
Room was marginally clean. Bed made with clean sheets, sink area ok. The baseboards and light fixtures have years worth of dust accumulated, and the shower had the body hair of a previous occupant stuck to one of the walls. The A/C had to work pretty hard to cool the room, and would kick on for a few minutes, then off, then right back on after 30 seconds. Breakfast was ok, but nothing impressive. People were nice here though

TURN AROUND AND KEEP SCROLLING. BAD PART OF TOWN. SHADY CHARACTERS AROUND THE FACILITY. They changed our room within 10 minutes of checking in. They stated the "upgrade", was more secure. Not to mention a downsize from Executive suite, quuen beds, couch, to daybeds no couch. Was awakened by door pounding about 2am, my daughters were scared and couldn't sleep after that and the yelling outside. We left the next morning with another night to booked, they didnt offer a stay at a different hotel as requested. UNSAFE, LOOSE DOOR LOCKS, OUTSIDE HANGOUT FOR SHADY LOCALS

A hassle to enter premises give only one street entrance left ungated. Room carpet was soaked from A/C units condensate. Shower had too little water pressure to actual use. Hot water tap temperature was barely warm.
- 3/5
The place was fine but i paid with credit and money they'd you, Expedia. Then when my mother in law got to the room she had to pay for the room again. I need you to get back to me about this or I'm leaving Expedia!

~ rented an executive suite, supposed to comfortably arrange five adults… all of us were squished. one bed was nonfunctional. they told us too bad. ~requested rollaway bed a day prior, confirmed morning of, and was promised accommodations, but when we arrived, they said they did not have rollaway beds. ~breakfast was served til NINE AM so missed breakfast. when we got there in time it was yogurt oranges and boiled eggs…. whatever i guess. ~pull out bed probably gave us tetanus and springs stabbed through fabric. no bedding provided- was rusty dirty and stained. beds had stains and there were bugs in the room. ~ac didnt work, we were lucky if it got to be 75 degrees in the room. ~rooms were not cleaned or prepared… dirty hairy floors and sinks, no water offered and pipes water was dirty. soaps were used prior and hairy. bathroom was disgusting. ~ all outlets were loose and unusable, we couldnt charge phones. microwave in unit didnt work and kept shorting. fridge was warm. paid 400 dollars for staff to be hostile, not accommodate, not be able to sleep, and have no ac. all rooms have outside access so you will be kept up at night hearing people with luggage roll by or a crck head walk by or partying outside your window. as a group of five young women, felt like a horror movie hotel

This was our 3rd time staying here this was the worst. We reserved a room with a fridge and microwave no microwave. The carpet was filth. The bathroom had mold we put a towel at the bottom of the tub. The water pressure for the ahower was horrible.

Si vas de pasada o solo un par de días, esta bien, no es excelente, pero no esperes mucho

First of all I was refused housekeeping for the whole 6 days that I stayed here I was told first that there was only a housekeeping between a certain time to a certain time and then the next day I called and I was told you have to call a day ahead for housekeeping and was rudely talk by the supposed Hotel manager. She said that she would send a housekeeping and I never got any housekeeping whatsoever. The carpets are dirty the toilet is messed up. You have to take down your own dirty sheets and blankets and towels to exchange it for new ones to the lobby. I even had to take out my own trash. Then because of unforeseen circumstances I was going to have to get the room for one more night I booked it through Expedia and accidentally booked it for the same night that I was already staying there. Once again the supposed Hotel manager stated that I was a no-show and she cannot refund my money nor could she change the date of my state so I could have it booked for that night. She was Unapologetic and spoke rudely to me as I was standing there crying because I didn't have money to pay for another night of a room. If it hadn't been for another woman that worked there that came up and assisted her I would have been sleeping on the street that night. They ended up comping my room for that night. There is evidence of an old bed bug infestation. I went down to exchange my blankets one day and was told that they had no clean blankets I was given a fitted sheet that did not fit my mattress.

A/C unit may need some maintenance. I was placed in a handicap accessible room and the tub seat kept falling down when I was showering. Common halls were very worn and need full repaint and new carpet installed.

You guys really need to up your game in terms of tekevisions and technology!

It was just dirty, and our room had a lot of bugs/ cockroaches and one of my kids is highly allergic to cockroaches.
- 1/5
We will find another place to stay next time.
- 1/5
Old and dirty and hot
- 4/5
Asked to be put on the 2nd floor but was denied. Door didn't seal at the bottom.
- 2/5
Looks were deceiving! There was an odor in foyer/service desk area. After checking my room, there was an unknown smell in the room, there was some type of insect in the bed. The couch with the let out bed was nasty and had a bag of marijuana stashed. After replying to the check in personnel’s message about the situation, I received a message saying no one was available. Shortly after, I received a phone call from the service desk about noise disturbances from my room. In which, we were watching a movie. The wall plugs were a fire hazard.
- 5/5
i just didn’t like the location of the hotel and the layout of it, pretty confusing to navigate
- 4/5
This property has some decaying accoutrements but the location and price help offset that. Great place if you only plan to sleep and shower and head on
- 3/5
Scary area , homeless people asking for money outside in the street - noisy people and no place to walk my dog
- 1/5
This place is super run down. At almost $200 a night, one would hope to not be staying in a dump. The room was ok ish if you ignore the shabby carpet and run down appearance. I don’t recommend if cleanliness is a factor for you to enjoy a stay.
- 1/5
Need more inside cleaning on room and the smell was terrible.
- 3/5
My stay was good but, that day shift host at the ft desk could use some kindness training. She was rather rude.
- 5/5
Good hotel for the price
- 2/5
Stayed from Friday to Monday. Had to get a new key every time we left the rooms, roaches in the bathrooms. Asked for fresh towels after the first night ,and was told after multiple days of asking they were still in the wash? Do not book this location-

Hotel room had mouse-it ate through some of our snacks.

Front office had a terrible smell as soon as you walked in. The lady at the front desk wasn't even able to provide us with accurate directions to our room. Upon entry into the room, we were hit with a bad smell like something had died in the room. Paint peeling in some places on the walls, the roof of the restroom was peeling off. Apartment floor and walls covered in stains, and in some places what looked like dried and/or coagulated blood. Roaches galore, you couldn't go more than 30 minutes without seeing a roach. In the restrooms, behind the beds, in the drawers, in the large exposed gaps to the foundation, several dead roaches behind the refrigerator. My roommate had droplets of blood on his pillow, and there were spots on the table in the room that appeared to be dry/coagulated blood. The faucet in the bathtub did nothing but leak 24/7. This is the most disgusting hotel I have ever had the displeasure of visiting. The final straw was when we found what appeared to be a bed bug crawling around near the baseboards. Packed our things, left and debated whether it would be better to just sleep in the car. If you are even considering booking this hotel, don't. Save your money and find someplace else to sleep. You'd probably have better luck at a bus stop on 6th St. I don't know how this place is open for business, but they shouldn't be. Stay away, please.

The moment I showed up at the lobby for my stay at this hotel, the person at the front desk canceled my reservation because the elevator was broken, there was no wifi, and no rooms were available. I was told I would get a full refund, and I'm still waiting for it. I stay at a lot of road side hotels and this was the worst experience of my life.
- 5/5
So easy everything about it. Would definitely book again!
- 5/5
Its decent

I like the layout of my interior room.

Nice Hotel to book your stay

The room stink, the coffee machine didn't work, the toilet had a water leak, the ac air coming out smell like dog!!! Worse experience!!! However, the lady at front very nice 😀 but the room no good!!

Basically quite awful. Room: dirty. Location: sketchy. Disturbances: many. Staff: unhelpful. It was cheap though.

Terrible experience
- 2/5
I showed up and was turned away for my ID being damaged even though I already reserved a room for a week! Staff is very disrespectfully ignoring me and preventing me from getting in room as my bags all are outside and vulnerable to thieves in this area.
- 5/5
The bed in our room was AMAZING
- 4/5
This hotel was very private and quiet. It was maybe a 5 minute drive to things such as bars or restaurants. Great place to stop when passing through.
- 3/5
It was quite and close to my destination
- 2/5
Dirty carpet in room and also bathroom. Toilet did not flush. They maid the bed and did not clean.
- 1/5
Dirty, loud and run down. The staff was angry and argumentative. I’ve never stayed in a worse place.
- 4/5
The hotel is an older property. But for its age, the property is still good. Only issue I had is the AC. Wish it would really cool down the room. Other than that, the staff is great and the continental breakfast was good.
- 4/5
Manager was amazing, hotel itself was in an area I wouldn't usually stay in, not much to do around the motel, did have a pool, we did see a couple of small roaches and carpet was sticky
- 4/5
The staff was quite pleasant, we stayed because my vehicle broke down while traveling from San Antonio to Dallas, unfortunately the mechanic couldn't be there until around 3 so we had to pay for a full additional night when we left around 430 but theamager tried her best to get us a discount on day 2, she was the nucea person and very accommodating, the carpets were sticky, like they had been cleaned but not all the soap was out, the linens were stained, there were roaches o n the night stand and the bathroom counter, but it is Texas and it happens, at least they were small, the tub was stained black, the area had a lot of homeless people around it. Television was good, and lots of food within walking distance
- 1/5
We felt very unsafe here, there were people walking around the property that looked homeless and/or on drugs. There were men parked in a truck watching my daughter and I, and men in the restaurant next door watching us. The room was clean but felt dirty. We checked out about 30 minutes after we checked in.
- 3/5
Smell in room was not clean.
- 2/5
Very bad bathroom (moldy and dirty). Bathroom Door hinge was broken which was not repaired despite us staying 4 nights. Old dusty room and seemed like a 1 star motel and not a La Quinta.
- 1/5
Although the hotel was quite empty on a Monday, they had no upper rooms available. The front desk stated that they “hadn’t cleaned them from the weekend.” The first two rooms I was put in were dingy, dirty, smelled like there had been a fire, peeling paint, mold in the toilets, just awful!! I attempted to call LaQuinta Inn downtown to transfer over there and was rudely told, “We don’t do that!! One more trip to the front desk and CeeCee, annoyed yet most helpful, put me in a room by the pool. It was more in tact, smelled better, no refrigerator nor microwave like the other two and no toilet paper. Steer clear of the breakfast/coffee as it too was disgusting, old, stale, mold on expired packaged items. My friends were at The Best Western across the street which appeared clean, updated and a few dollars a night less…
- 3/5
Property is poorly kept. There are hand marks in the restroom where itnlooks like someone was holding themselves up. The carpet had a lot of stain marks. The area has a lot of homeless walking around asking for money.
- 4/5
none at this time
- 3/5
Sadly the LaQuinta brand has really sunk. This property is just not being maintained, and the staff doesn't seem to have any pride of ownership (they just work there). Not horrible and not gross - but only tiny above that.
- 3/5
But this time double charge happened again they need a training on pre-paid rooms. Also I upgraded to have a fridge and microwave this area was horrible no circulation of air in the hallway so it smells terrible the carpet in the hallway and room was filthy no cleaning can help it. The bathroom had mold over the shower. It needs a good paint job. We were sitting watching TV and a roach came out of the dresser. The only part we enjoyed was the bed was comfortable i bring my own sheets and the convenient drive. Also when we arrrived no one was at the desk we waited 10 min.

- 3/5
Dried blood and cigarette burns on the tub. Roaches on the bed. Had a half of toilet paper and not even a back up roll.
- 4/5
Nothing was unique about the proper property. In fact, I find most of the wyndham hotels, even though they're clean and adequate, they're pretty run down anymore, which is rather sad.
- 4/5
Recommend for value and quality
- 3/5
Older hotel that could use a refresh. It was reasonably priced for a group and located close to where we needed to be. The bathroom did have a leaking toilet and rust stains/mold in the tub. Breakfast offered a good variety of food choices. We will not go back when staying in Austin.
- 1/5
Carpet very old smells bad in hallway , Everything old
- 3/5
The rooms are not bad but the facilities a little sketchy, the pool was dirty and the breakfast staff was very rude. The location was very very convenient to go out in 6th St. if you need a cheap place to stay the night, this is worth it. If you want a nice place and can spend a little more, do it.
- 1/5
did not like, cleaness, staff, noise
- 1/5
Don’t go here . They cancelled my reservation for no fault of mine when I showed up and said they can’t help me and asked me to go somewhere else. I ended up having no room.

It was fine no bugs or obscenities
- 4/5
The room was ok for the most part. A lot of door slamming. The carpet us dirty there was rust in the sink and some mold in the shower. The building needs some fixing snd upgrades.

Awesome front desk staff, housekeepers are awesome and made sure you had everything needed for your stay.

Carpet was sticky Sheets were stained

El servicio del personal bueno , limpieza buena , en la calle o en el estacionamiento hay personas que viven en la calle pidiéndote dinero pero esto no es problema del hotel es más bien la ubicación .

Smelled like sewer Wet rags

Great stay
- 2/5
The carpet was not clean. The inside door going to bathroom is an old style door. Breakfast was not satisfying.
- 3/5
Staff is great, always trying to be helpful and doing more than you can expect, But property is old and dirty, carpets are a shame.
- 4/5
I greatly appreciate the front desk staff. They were very helpful, friendly & courteous. I can not remember their names. Sorry. Thank you!
- 2/5
It’s very shabby, very old. I stayed for 4 days, I regretted staying there because I could have gone to other hotels for same price much nicer. As a matter of fact, although I prepaid, I stayed one night at the same time at double tree, it was so much nicer, same price. The last day, I agreed with reception that as long as I leave before one, it’s ok.. 11.45 a lady screamed through door, you must leave by 12, I felt humiliated talked to like a dog. I found out it’s one of the worst areas in Austin! Never again will I stay there!!!!!
- 3/5
Too many people sit around the area and walk around it was weird and noisy, housekeeping knocked on my door 3 times before check out. The lady that checked me in was the only person that was decent.
- 3/5
Outside of hotel was filthy and dirty. Paint on doors were peeling off
- 3/5
Hotel says its a no smoking place but when you walk in all you smell is smoke.
- 5/5
My second time staying. Price is good and great service
- 5/5
Nice breakfast, easy walk to my room. Housekeeping was very good!
- 4/5
Olga, Dayna and Alyssa were always patient and kind when we needed small help with tv remotes, tv and necessary utensils for food deliveries. Be aware that you may hear sirens due to this hotel being so close to a hospital. Right across from 24/7 Whataburger which is great for night owls. And healthier options in walking distance (IE Chipotle, subway)
- 3/5
Rooms are very old and dirty.
- 2/5
The property needs an upgrade. Carpets were stained and smelling. Saw some bedbugs. Alot of homeless people in the area walking around.
- 1/5
It was my worst experience with La Quinta inns it was dirty and full of roaches I was supposed to stay 2 days but I couldn’t do it I barely made it staying there one night cause I never imagined how bad it was going to be
- 1/5
Hotel was so stinky and i had to move to new hotel
- 3/5
Everything I’m going to say about this is probably my fault for going the cheap route but you get what you pay for. The limited time I spent with the staff they were friendly, do not walk barefoot on the carpet, soap scum in the shower, and my clothes have such a weird smell that I had to move the laundry outside. It the best part was my last night they moved probably 6 people into a room next door who backed up their pickup to have a party like it was their backyard. They were respectful but the “young lady” leaving at 5:30am was probably someone they hired. The neighborhood is kinda bad too but close to South Congress
