Everything about this motel is bad literally i only use because im struggling in life and its the cheapest motel in Bakersfield that i can afford so im not on the streets.2 outta all the office staff including the manager are horrible humans who are so outta touch with compassion for others that they should def never have jobs that have them interacting with customers, every housekeeper there including the maintenance workers are a way better fit for dealing with the customers.I really advise the owner to do a undercover look into how the business is being conducted off paper.And how much they screw around letting their egos,attitudes,and old age turn away so many paying customers for quote unquote rules they pick and choose to use depending on their mood and who the customer is.TERRIBLE TERRIBLE MANAGER WHO YOU NEVER SEE BUT LIVES ON PROPERTY that the staff never call when they say only the manager can fix a problem and the 1 or 2 hours u might see her in the am sometime not even a set time shes being rude or yelling at someone kicking someone off the property she had let b there days before shes old and bitter and obviously hates her job so anytime she has to deal with a problem YOU ABSOLUTELY WILL BE CHEWED OUT BY HER AND NOT GET WHAT YOUR REQUEST 9 outta the 10 times this has happened to me and shell yell at you infront everyone n i mean yell and embarrass you and say a bunch of lies she claims housekeeping said so she shouldnt even rent to u anymore n then says shes not n youll beg her to please rent to u forget the request and most times she will and 2 outta ten she will say come back she dont wanna deal with u right now

The area is pretty sketchy. Lots of weird individuals around.

The environment at the property felt unsafe as there were plenty of vagabonds standing around the inn. There was a cigarette burn on the bedsheet, and a dead roach in the bathtub. A man started banging at the door of the unit right when we checked in. We decided to leave and check out after 10 mins. Do not recommend the place.

The breakfast My room was roach infested, and I’m not saying that to be in any way, dramatic. There were roaches coming in through the corners of the walls, climbing up the door and around the bed. At night it was worse, especially if the lights were off so I had to sleep with the lights on because I was worried that bugs were gonna climb on the bed. Aside from that the sheets were extremely dirty, and when I stripped the bed before I left, they visibly were dirty and had cigarette burns in the mattress topper. The other issue is that my door key would not open and multiple times I had to have security unlock my door manually. I stayed at the other Vagabon location in Bakersfield South and comparing the two they are vastly different. I realize that you’re getting your moneys worth for what you pay for, but I didn’t expect it to be this bad because the other location was not this bad.

I couldn't pay cash for my rooms. The last trip I had with them I could. I couldn't have my crew stay in rooms close to each other. The towels are small. The counter attendant very rude. We won't be back. Our first trip was good with them, but 2nd was awful

The homeless around the hotel, many of them are creeps,but that isnt the hotels fault. That is the city's fault. The hotel staff does their best to keep them off property and from making messes or bothering people renting rooms.

Lots of transient homeless people around the parking lot. Bright light in the room from businesses nearby. Liquors store and 7-11 nearby brings lots of bright lights and activity. The room had a good air conditioner which was good white noise. The fridge had a leak, but I didn’t stay long so for $40 for the night it was okay.

The facility needs a lot of upgrades and is not how they are posted on the website. The rooms were not as clean as expected, and the furniture needs to be replaced. The staff were nice but unfortunately my family and I will not stay at this location next time.

If you stay here be sure to not stay on the side where milts is. They say if you have a 93308 a code they put you there automatically the 100 block, be sure to check for roach legs, blood stain in your bed. Only some have comforters, tweakers galore be sure to keep your door locked. Security gaurd is awesome and night shift ladies 10/10. If your coming in the AM get ready for rude old grannies.

Had to change rooms 3 times in two days....First room was horrible smelled like cigarettes; 2nd room wanst even cleaned before I checked into it...it still had a broken heater and the shower did....so my first night at this place I ....and couldnt even take a warm shower in the morning before my job interview. 3rd room was slightly "better" than the 2nd although that's not really saying much. An the attitude of the staff was pretty bad as well; if they don't want to be 'bothered' by patrons asking for basic things like heat and clean blankets, then perhaps they should consider running a better business. I've stayed at various hotels here in the states and in other parts of the world. This was by far the worst hotel Ive ever stayed in without question...there isn't even a close 2nd. You know it's bad when you would rather eat in your car than to eat in your hotel room!

The motel is not in a desirable location. The place looks run down. The comforter and curtains looked old and dirty. The bathtub was old and looked like it was patched. It looked pink in that area and had a big crack. There were cockroaches. The people staying next door were drinking and were loud. I do not recommend this place.

the AC smelled like cigarettes! The mini fridge was older than the building. The area was full of crack heads. I mean you do get what you pay for. BUT DAMN. We skipped the complimentary breakfast its literally next to the check in area, it does not have it's own area.

The parking lot did not feel safe. There were many transients hanging around and It did not feel secure for guests or vehicles. They were als drunk people outside my room arguing and using foul language at 2:00 am. The room itself was in unacceptable condition. It was filthy and had roaches. There was no comforter on the bed, and the sheets were visibly dirty. The furniture was old and broken, and the carpet was heavily stained and dirty. Overall, the room was poorly maintained and clearly not properly cleaned before our arrival. Unfortunately, I would not stay here again and would not recommend it to others.

The room was okay. It was nothing spectacular or fancy, but we were comfortable during our stay. All staff that we interacted with were very friendly. The one thing that was a bit of a bummer was that the microwave and mini fridge was missing from the room.

I wanna give a shout out to Esmaralda. My son locked himself out of the room. He tried to get a new key, but Esmeralda wasn't gonna give a key to my room to just anyone. She isn't familiar with my son and his name wasn't on the registration. I called and spoke with her. She didn't just take it for granted that I was who I said I was. I had to give her my name and ID information then she, this one time only, allowed my son to get back into the room. I appreciate her caution and not letting just anyone into my room. Hire more people like her.

We stayed for about one hour. When we walked in, we could see it is in a bad neighborhood, including a homeless encampment in the parking lot. The room had obvious damage -missing smoke detector, missing drawer, there was no tray in the microwave, and some obvious cosmetic damage from burn marks on the microwave and toilet. But, it appeared clean and it was cheap and the staff had been friendly so we were prepared to stay. We had to drop off Christmas presents with family, then returned. As we got ready to settle in, we observed multiple cockroaches, and old food in the sheets. This was absolutely unacceptable - being rundown in a rough part of town, we were okay with handling for the sake of price and convenience. The poor cleanliness and pest control, absolutely not. When we went to the front desk we were informed they would not do a refund after 15 minutes, however we would not have noticed what made it unacceptable within 15 minutes, so this policy seems arbitrary and extremely unhelpful. I would never stay here again, and would never recommend this to anyone, ever.

Half of the motel is definitely long-term stays for drug users, who are often wandering around the property at all hours. The ice machine was 25 cents and was located in the building of the motel with the long-term renters. The same drug users also occupied the breakfast buffet and made it difficult for other people to get food.

The rooms are clearly in decay, the conditions inside them are honestly at some point nasty. I had to get move from the first assigned room because they were cockroaches in the wall. The floor were sticky, the water faucet was barely working and bad tube was supper nasty.

Worst continental breakfast I've ever had, only consisted of waffles, coffee, and two types of cereal. Usually you have fruit options, yogurts, toast etc. Sheets were clean but pillow was stained throughout and there was dirt smudges over the door and walls. The smell outside was horrendous but that may not have been the motels problem directly.

The entire parking lot surrounding the hotel was infested with homeless drug addicts . I had my U-Haul full of my belongings parked there and did not feel comfortable. The room itself almost burned my face off when I entered my room, which of course was never locked because the lock was broken. It looked like someone pooped on my bedspread and it wasn’t all the way washed out. I stayed for 10 minutes and then gave the key back and grunted a complaint as I walked towards my truck to drive away. I want a refund please.

Dirty rooms, I left the same day I checked in and they won't give a refund at all paid for 3 nights and didn't even stay a whole night even after switching rooms the cockroachs were just to much for us to sleep in the room so I asked for a refund for 2 of the nights and was told no so I can say what the laundry room was like because I never went in it. The parking lot wasn't to bad there were a security guard that walked around I seen him walking by every time I went outside.

The floor was actually filthy and the laminate coming up. The bed mattress didn’t fit properly on the box spring. Not enough towels and refused to provide extra. Water running out from the fridge and all over the floor. Grease stains and unknown debris slathered on the curtains. Abandoned trash on the property. Dog 💩 left all over. Real filth pig place and zero pride. Worth less than a 1 star rating.

I reserved a room for me and my buddy. She noticed that he was black and went into the room solo. Unbeknownst to her I was out Getting lunch. She called into the room and told my buddy to get out. She then made up a couple lies and stating that she saw three homeless go into my room. I said no, it was the room five doors down where the staircase starts. She told me that there was one black homeless guy. She then switched our room to the opposite side where I noticed it was predominantly minorities. And the other white. Unfortunately, I have heard many, many stories from others stating the same thing.

Pictures were very deceiving. Felt unsafe. Screen on window was broken. Clientale around the hotel were sketchy.

Im unsure why smoking rooms are significantly more expensive when the rooms are kept in the condition they're in. Tiles in the tub looked like they were falling off, there was no stopper for the tub, no batteries for the remote, the bottoms of some of the lights look like they are about to fall off. The bedside table had no knob on the drawer, and when I did get it open, the inside was stripped and filled with graffiti. And the dresser was completely unusable as the drawer had been ripped out as well as one of the doors. Was able to peek inside one of the unoccupied cheaper rooms, and it was much cleaner. Do not pay for a smoking room, because they are charging you extra to sleep in a dump.

The area felt really shady and dirty to walk our dog. The room was decent but all fixtures had rust. The bed was the most terrible we have ever had. It felt like sleeping on a box of springs. Noisy, hurting the back and like jumpy.

From the outside it may feel a bit deceptive, but once I stepped into my room I was truly surprised on how maintained and clean the place was, I had good customer service as well! For my first time ever experience, I was truly over all happy to see that looks don’t do it justice, be aware you’re getting what you pay for so that’s why I feel like I have to say that is was aware and to my surprise I was met with a pretty chill environment!

Service was excellent. The pool was nice. The weather was hot and the airconditioning placed by the beds so it had to been turned off for the night…. The price was excellent for our stay.

AC in my room could have worked better and BA couple of the staff, have an attitude. If you let them just don't let them and they will act right. Also, rooms could be cleaner and not have a stench, and then when you first move in to have to fully clean it

Overall the staff didn't bug too much which was excellent, the room has things missing from it. Like a way to contact front desk. The showers are pretty outdated, and the pillow they supplied was 1/4 of a pillow. The front desk people were great, this stay included a breakfast which was also good. Waffles .. which you have a choice of cereals also . Overall 3 ½ out of 5

Dirty and dangerous area

Area was very sketchy and a lot of activity. Going into a non-smoking room, it smelled like cigarette right away. Room was very dirty and un-sanitized. Blinds don’t close properly so people could see inside. Sink was leaking and very stained. Bathtub was dirty and messy. Towel inside the bathtub and stains of dirt. We didn’t stay at all and left right away. Had to book another hotel due to the unpleasant things we experience. Do not stay here and save your money.

It was good for the price and comfortable

This older property provides basic overnight accomodations at a budget price which includes a simple breakfast. The room was stark but clean with a microwave and minifridge. A variety of fast food and other restaurants are within walking distance. The area is a bit noisy due to local traffic but not intolerable. If you're looking for a lot of amenities, this would not be your first choice. However, if you're looking for a clean, conveniently located, reasonably priced motel, this would definitely qualify.

They only have a few good workers! An I mean only a few! There’s been multiple times that I have went in there an they been rude nothing but rude! One of the workers are named Magen an she has to be one of the worse customers service employees I have ever seen! Then we get told we can’t live here which we go a couple days without renting but there’s been a guy living here for months! It’s like they pick an choose who they like or who they don’t! Like today I walk in the the office an the two ladies where having a conversation an they both rolled there eyes and started asking questions just trying to find whatever way they could to get use out of there hotel. Anyways I am done for now but they really need better workers here there all very very rude

I specifically asked for a room with wheel chair / handicap accessible during my initial booking as both my parents are in a wheelchair and unable to walk, plus they require extra bathroom space. I was told I hadn't asked for such a request and was given a room with no handicap accessibility. I had no choice but to take what was given to us since we had no other reservation or place to go. Completely unconfortable for my folks, my wife, and me! The front desk attendant was completely unprofessional and RUDE! Plus the bathroom door was broken and had to leave it open while we used the facilities.... including no leg room to handle my folks since we need to assist them to use the bathroom.

The stained pillowcases were completely different from the pictures they published. I had to leave and lose my money for two nights and look for another place.

Property was in sad shape. Torn shower curtain and towel, dings and chips in the walls and doors, cigarette burn in the bedspread. Room smelled of cigarette smoke even though it was supposed to be non-smoking. Styrofoam cups (PLEASE stop using them!!) for coffee. I'd only stay here again as a last choice.

The room had bed bugs, I proceeded to inform management about it and they have been giving me the runaround since. The hotel is a drug infested mess with no one to take accountability. This place is very unsafe for children please think twice before renting here.

The staff was helpful, the cleaning tram will come bye and check to see if you need anything. But you have to pay for ice, snd time you want ice you have to pay. You have to pay for both washer and dryer, quite expensive washing clothes there. At night its very noisy not a good neighborhood at all, you hear people yelling and fighting, cars pulling into the parking area right outside people getting out fighting with others in the motel rooms before spending off loudly. Make you feel unsafe to walk outside for anything.

Within the first hour I had fleas crawling on me. I requested a refund and they said I’d need to go through hotels.com. Hotel.com then tried to contact the manager to verify that I left and she refused to help me. Her name is Edie. Horrible place and service.

But vagabond inn needs to update their rooms. Rooms look dirty, not saying it’s not clean. But dirty smudges all over the wall, furniture missing drawers. Plus when I was inside my room I got locked in. I had to call the front desk about my room how I’m locked in. I requested for another room. I was giving worse room of course I wasn’t locked in. Door did open and locked

You get what you pay for. I killed 2 cockroaches. Graffiti that was covered up but still visible on bathroom door and microwave. Flat pillows.

This pkace is one of those that makes you itch as soon as you come into contact with anything in the room. (Not literally, but it feels like youre going to see bedbugs or some other lind of vermin). DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE PHOTOS!!!! It looks NOTHING like the pictures featured. Think, burnholes in the blankets, full sized mattresses on quenn sized frames (i honestly think that we slept on a box spring)!, desks with no chairs or drawers (and with graffiti on them), doors that have obviously been kicked in as well as bathroom doors that dont clos,Ae for the ssme reason. Some have microwaves, some don't, same for refrigerators, and some dont have either. There is open and obvious prostitution going on here, and the owners 'don't provide' butter for the waffles and the bisquits and vravy? They dont exist. There is also a terrible smell outside. Sostay at your own risk. I will say that its not as bad as the Airport Motel 6(literally stayed the night in my car), but im pretty sure people have died here.

I arrived to check in and was greeted by name. My paperwork and room card was already available. Everything was prepared before I came in. It made the check in process extremely quick. It was great!

I like that the rooms are clean, nice and convenient and you don’t have to go far to get something to eat also.

The worst experience stay in that kind of motel. I found the room, restroom and shower completely dirty, i couldn't stay on it, I have to move to another place.

The room was adequate. There was sticky stuff on the little table where I set down my computer. I cleaned it off myself.

It's pretty clean for the most part. Outdated for sure.. Which to often, people confuse being outdated, for being dirty an unxleqned.

Great price

Price was very nice. They treat you like family, serve breakfast early and security was on top of anyone wandering around the area not staying here. They offer regular housekeeping which is rare. Housekeepers were pleasant and hardworking. Beautiful people inside and out. Thank you.
