Reviews
The hotel is praised for its excellent location near the harbor and convenient access to local attractions. Guests generally appreciate the cleanliness of the rooms and friendliness of the staff. However, there are recurring complaints about slow check-in processes, unavailability of rooms upon arrival, and issues with room service and food quality at the restaurant.

Booked a king bed, was upgraded to a suite with a king Murphy bed. Bed collapsed on us, engineering came up to check on it, and they found screws missing. We switched rooms out of concern for our safety and were moved to a room with a double bed. Tried booking a good place near the aquarium for a loved one’s birthday but we’ll be staying somewhere else next time we visit for sure.

I loved how clean our room was and the breakfast buffet was good. What I loved the most was the omelet station.
- 1/5
The room certainly didn’t have the status of a 4 star rating, carpet was filthy, no daily cleaning of the bathroom and no glasses in the bathroom on our arrival. Finally got clean sheets after being told sheet change it once a week. We were there for 7days. Internet would not work in the room, only outside of the room. Tried to get it fixed , no success. Very unpleasant stay

I’ve stayed here many times and each time the staff is always pleasant, property maintains a high level of cleanliness, bar tenders are knowledgeable of drink orders, and rooms are always spacious and with well designed wall art. It is also a family friendly hotel. Directly across the street from the harbor fun! And a small distance from treatments for breakfast, lunch, dinner or simply fast food.

This property isn’t a four star hotel it’s less than a 3 star hotel. We had Tonya for WiFi and the building is leaking water onto the corridor. I won’t be staying or recommending it to anyone

Nice property. I would stay here again. Beaware of the of the parking rules for the garage attached to hotel. Hotel does not include any parking passes. Be sure to pay as soon as you park. They wait and watch and issue $100 parking tickets if you don’t pay via your phone upon parking

We went to the bar, there is not lunch, and the staff at bar were not as friendly as the others, actually they were kind of rude. My wife cocktail had no garnish and it was very simple looking. We were expecting the old school chatty bartender experience, it was not at all like that.
- 5/5
Great view of the harbor. Clean room. Comfortable beds. Easy access to everything the harbor offers.
- 2/5
The cleaners finish early so if you like a sleep in, they won’t clean your room. We usually went out in the late afternoon and so the best they could offer was to give us fresh towels and empty the trash. Our sheets and bed were not made the whole 5 nights we were there no matter how many times I asked.

I loved how close it was to the aquarium and the little shops. Lots of places to eat around there as well. It was clean, comfortable, the staff was friendly and kind, very helpful. At night you could hear everything that was going on outside. There was a lot of activities going on in the middle of the night that required police presence. Did not love waking up at 2 am to the sound of yelling, shots and police sirens. That is the fault of the location and the hotel has nothing to do with that, and no matter where you stay in that area it will be an issue. Also didnt love the fact that there were 2 ice stations on the floor and I was literally in the farthest room from them both. Also I would've loved a water view room (which i did book for and didn't get).

After reading about the financial difficulties the hotel was having, I was apprehensive about staying there after making reservations months earlier. I was more than delightfully surprised. Everything was wonderful. My room had a spectacular view of Inner Harbor, the room was cleaned daily (I stayed a week) and the staff was extremely hospitable. I live in Arkansas but am a Baltimore Orioles fan and visit Baltimore once or twice a year. I have stayed in several hotels in the Inner Harbor area but none better than the Renaissance. The location is excellent since it is at the heart of Inner Harbor and is a 10-minute walk to Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

Before this, we got there earlier in the day and needed to use the restroom bc we traveled a couple hours. They sent me to the café for a key to the bathroom. The café told us they didnt have a key and sent us to someone else. It was annoying. All of it. Ive stayed here at least 10 times and it used to be great. Not so much at all anymore. They dont care about you. At all. Nice location though to everything. Just disappointed in how they treat you now.
- 5/5
My room was very clean and quite unusual, I slept good both nights which almost never happens. Hotel is right on the inner harbor which was convenient for doing tourist activities. I walked home from two Oriole games and felt safe.
- 3/5
The one place we were excited to go was the pool. I’m sorry to say that the pool and The room was so gross. The indoor pool was cold, there were flies floating in the water. The paint from the ceiling was coming off and a lot of it was on the bottom pool. We were beyond bummed. The hot tub was also closed. The room was great, staff were super kind except for one security person. I probably would stay there again if these things were fixed.

After driving all night, we arrived at the hotel very early. The room wasn't supposed to be ready until four o'clock. After waiting an hour in the lobby; which smelled wonderful, we asked about the room, five minutes to four, we were told we had to wait until four o'clock sharp. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly. It isn't worth paying extra for the partial bay view, it is so distant that you can't see anything unless you lean right up against the window.

I would advise everyone not to eat there. After seating we were never asked for our drink order. No bread or apps offered. Ordered steak tips rare and they were served Grey colored and well done. My order of seafood over pasta Primavera tasted like water, was served with scampi and when I asked for cheese the waiter had the Mgr come out to verify my request!!? The steak was sent back and reserved in the same condition. There is no reason to have a high end restaurant if the food is not edible.

We included breakfast in our hotel package which saved money. We got complimentary vouchers when recieving our room keys. It includes coffee, orange juice and access to the breakfast buffet and omelette station. All worth it, esp the omelettes. The chefs are so nice and take your order to cook right in front of you. We recieved two vouchers in total, one per day for 2 people each. I'd recommend downloading the Mariott Bonvoy app to create an account for your reservation too. You can check-in and check-out using it, earlier if needed, and also access the wifi for free. If you need parking, there's a self-parking garage under the hotel. The Gallery Garage entrance is on Calvert St, it's about $35 per day and you pay via QR code as soon as you park. The QR codes are posted along the walls in the garage and near the elevators. It's seamless but pricey. To get to the hotel lobby from the garage, take the purple elevators. There's specific elevators that'll only take you to the garage and then others that take you to the rest of the hotel.

The staff were excellent. We got early check in and late check out and they offer to hold luggage for you!
- 4/5
Hotel room is great. It better be, considering what it costs. We ate breakfast in hotel restaurant, and only buffet was available, which cost us $71 for two, and food wasn't hot. It's also ridiculous that an upscale hotel with a garage under it charges guests to park: $76 for two nights. People drive from all over to spend time and money in Baltimore, and get gouged for parking! And the parking garage signs read as if customers are likely to be cheaters: "Pay within 15 minutes or get booted and pay fines and fees costing $350."

The staff were very unhelpful, we arrived on a Sunday 10pm and there were no provisions for food or drink or room service nor any help to access order in options. It was a hassle to park the car, and every question was met with a "no" The staff made us feel as if we should be grateful that we were even being checked in. It was an awful experience and the staff were so disengaged. this creates a very bad company impression.
- 4/5
The staff was wonderful. The rooms and facilities are dated and need work. Wish the cost included breakfast or there was a rooftop bar. The waterfront restaurant was closed the whole time we were there. Perfect location for anyone wanting to visit the inner harbor.
- 5/5
Had spots on the ceiling and microwave was dirty but overall property was nice

There wasn't much to complain about. I was a little caught off guard about the price of parking. I thought the parking rate for the garage was included in my reservation but was not.
- 3.5/5
The room was clean and quiet. Ordered room service around 8 PM and I called a little after 10 and was told that my order was not filled and the kitchen was closed. Not what a diabetic wants to hear. Had to go to the snack bar and then watch my blood sugar go through the roof.

We stayed at the hotel before leaving for a cruise out of the Port of Baltimore. The hotel was beautiful, and the location was great. Our only concern was the neighborhood We honestly did not feel safe walking around after dark. We were approached for money many times and there was what appeared to be a gang fight outside of our window in the middle of the night. The hotel did have great security but definitely would not return to that location.

The guy that checked me in was nice. But aside from that a lot was lacking. I called the day prior to have me expedited for an early check in. I told them I didn’t care what room I stayed in. Any available room so I could get some sleep. When I arrived, couldn’t check in until later in the day. Very disappointed. I work for Marriott and if I didn’t have the availability which is rare to not have a single room out of 100s. But non the less would have been walked to a different location that had ready rooms. But wasn’t given that option either. Very poor experience due to this inconvenience.

I was also disappointed to find that the hotel’s snack area closed at midnight. I’m accustomed to having access to a club lounge or at least 24-hour snack options at the front desk, so this was a significant inconvenience. Additionally, the rooms were very outdated and noticeably small, which made the stay even less comfortable. Overall, this stay did not meet my expectations. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this property or choose to return. I’ve always appreciated Marriott, but this experience almost made me consider switching to Hilton.

I wouldn’t recommend staying at this place if you are planning for family fun vacation. Although property is 4* and shows having pool and restaurants, we didn’t find it useful. Pool was extremely small compared to the size of the property & also not maintained. It had water all over the place and no towels. Staff was extremely unfriendly with no proper details about the property shared. Room was having issues with coffee machine and also water leaking. This hotel is in a great location. We went to an Orioles game and it’s just a 10 min walk away. The restaurant has a nice view and the food was good, not great. The only thing is we had an interior facing room so I window was facing inside. There was a Dunkin Donuts meeting that started early so there was no sleeping in. Also there was only one hook in the bathroom but otherwise it was excellent.
- 3/5
Also you must pay to park. 27.00 per day. Which I didn’t expect . Outside property didn’t seem maintained very well, all the shrubbery were dead or needed water terribly. Paid for breakfast included, we only ordered a simple egg sandwich and we waited almost an hour with hardly anyone there and we ended up leaving after no service. Front desk people were nice and helpful. Bed was comfy and clean looking. Decent hotel for the most part . Maybe just a bad day for us. Also room was said to have a city view. We saw nothing of city. Only a courtyard n other side of building out window !
- 4/5
The room was clean. We did not eat in the hotel because it was far too expensive. There were excellent restaurants nearby.

I was there for 3 days for a work related event. The staff was super helpful and friendly. They greeted me warmly and when I asked for bag storage on arrival, they got me checked in super early. The food was delicious - both at the event and at the onsite restaurant. Nice meeting rooms. Super comfortable beds and bedding. Very little hallway noise and no noise from adjoining rooms. My stay was excellent and far exceeded my expectations.

I liked having my dog stay with me. The mattress was extremely comfortable and the water was hot. The location was a pain to navigate even at my Midnight arrival. Parking was extra and very expensive. I had to park and pay before checkin. For the price I expected a free bottle of water. It was clean enough but my dog did immediately find a fake eyelash on the carpet so they need a stronger vacuum. If I was on a leisurely vacation and could try amenities this would be nice. For a quick crash (I stayed 12am to 7:15am) it was too much money and not much value for an on the go traveler.

Staff was NOT welcoming everything from checkin to checking out. I asked for a later checkout as my friend and I were going to hangout and explore Bmore after the Fantasia concert last night. I was there during a large conference (I was not part of the conference) and the hotel was totally understaffed. They had one or two people at the front desk. The bar/restaurant ran out of food and tap beer, and they only had one bartender on duty. He was very good but had too many customers. Also, they put me in a room that looked out on the conference floor so it was loud and there was food tables set outside on the 6th floor. Stay away from the 6th floor. They did move me because I needed to be able to rest and open the curtains without everyone at the conference seeing me. It was an odd setup on that floor. Once moved the room was nice and comfortable. The area wasn't the best. As I entered the hotel a woman was getting arrested at the hotel. In the evening there was police activity outside the hotel. It looked like youth fighting. Overall it is a nice hotel but it is huge and if you have problems walking a long distance with bags you may want to stay somewhere else. There is one elevator shaft, and you end up doing a lot of walking to get to your room if on the other side of the hotel.

Location was great for walking everywhere. All the staff was very helpful and friendly! Loved that they gave us ideas of great local food places, but 5th floor hotel restaurant and ground floor cafe were great too!
- 3.5/5
The restaurant took 2 hours to get us our food. Luckily we had drinks. The parking was about $40 a night which was a little nuts. Also, the wait to check in was about 30 minutes. Not many good restaurants in walking distance - definitely need a car.
- 5/5
Room was spotless except there was no Kleenex in the room. Other than that everything was excellent
- 4/5
Very clean room and really wonderful restaurant and bell hop teams. Especially the gentleman who gets luggage from cars. He was so incredibly kind and took care of us throughtout the stay!
- 5/5
Big rooms, exceptional staff,
- 2/5
This hotel was hugely chaotic but more than anything, the staff didn't do much to try and improve things. The elevators were running slow or out of service (not the property's fault probably) but when 20 guests are stuck on the 12th floor with luggage waiting to come down and the front desk says they can't do anything to try and get an elevator to the top floor to help the guests, it feels like we are neglected. It may be out of the control of the hotel that the ice machines aren't working but when the front desk says they can't/won't deliver ice from the bar it feels like we were being neglected. I'm sure it's a good property but the staff could focus on guest needs
- 5/5
Lovely hotel, convenient and accessible for what we needed. The walking distance to the stadium was very short. We stayed an extra day after the game, and it was pretty dull around the hotel. Not much is happening in November, but catching the Thanksgiving game was energetic.
- 4/5
PROS: THE STAFF, LOCATION & CLEANLINESS!!! Kisha and Kay who worked at the front desk were AMAZING!! They were courtesy, graceful & professional while dealing with difficult customers, just PHENOMENAL!!! Kisha gave us 20k bonus points for our room not being available. The check-out process with Kay was a breeze & seamless, very refreshing from the night before check-in experience!!! And the young lady (the supervisor, forgot her name) who was the hostess at breakfast was OUTSTANDING!! She was doing EVERYTHING, cleaning tables, cleaning chairs, setting tables, seating guest and waiting tables. Even with the hiccups we would DEFINITELY recommend & stay here again!!! CONS: Long line of 30+ guest waiting to check-in and only 2 front desk employees checking in regular guest, the line for Marriott Bonvoy members went fast with 1 staff member attending. Instead of the manager stepping up to help assist with getting the line down, he walked around handing out water bottles to guest waiting in line, and peaking over front desk staff shoulders, VERY DISAPPOINTING!! Because they were sold out the night before a lot of rooms were not ready even after 7pm and they had given away the room my husband & I reserved and paid for.
- 2/5
Had no idea that this place had gone so downhill= especially the area of Balto which has been let go. All of the shops that used to be there are gone. Needless to say we did not spend much time there.
- 5/5
Great central location to everything we needed
- 3/5
The wait in long was horrible and customer service was not good
- 3/5
I paid for a king size with breakfast and when I got there to check in, they didn’t have any available. For compensation, they gave me a voucher for breakfast. It did not benefit me due to I had already paid for breakfast.
- 5/5
everything was perfect
- 2/5
Just the hotel wasn't worth the price. Old furniture in the room, rust and mold looking stuff in the shower, floors didn't look shampooed and hair in the sink upon arrival. Just was giving dirty
- 5/5
Clean room and great service!
- 3/5
I had the king room and they ended up changing it to a queen room because the king room I paid for would not be available for 3 hours. The room was in good condition however TV did not work. Maintenence changed out TV 3 times and it still did not work. After an hour he realized the cable box was broken. When we called down to the staff they acted very nonchalant about the inconvenience.
- 3/5
An airlines got late check outs so they ran out of King sized rooms. They gave us 2 queen beds on Valentine’s Day.. Got a complimentary breakfast but had to wait 20-30 mins in line for a limited buffet. Phones in the room don’t work. During check in, the elevator was not coming all the way to 12 floor. People was up there waiting for 30 mins. They told people with strollers that they had to walk down the 12 flight of stairs instead of getting a worker to send an elevator to the 12 floor. Overall very mid stay. It wasn’t as bad as it sounds just is not the best.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean and convenient to get around great location
- 4/5
Good location -walking distance to CFG Bank Arena No valet parking-self parking lot adjacent to hotel is prepaid only. Received $100 parking ticket ; thought you paid upon exiting garage
- 5/5
Cleanliness, location, and friendly helpful staff Hot tub wasn’t open and pool was cold
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 4/5
Really helpful front desk lady.
- 5/5
Room was clean and comfortable

Beautiful stay
- 5/5
I’ll first time at the Renaissance Baltimore Hoborplace we loved it. It was my Husband Birthday we got the Club room very nice and clean. Everyone at Renaissance was helpful and very pleasant and friendly and nice. We will be back
- 5/5
The accommodations and the location was perfect. Staff was very patience, polite and attentive.
- 1/5
The bethroom was not clean, sheets were dirty and fire alarm went off on other floors and floors were evacuated and never did more than clicked on the 9th floor.
- 1/5
Have to walk too far to get to the rooms
- 5/5
Clean room and friendly front desk representatives.
- 2/5
I was not thrilled about my stay, everything was ok at first when I was checking in. They needed a card on file for the room and I had no issue. What they neglected to tell me was that there would be a temporary hold on my card for damages and room usage that I was unaware of. I was charged nearly 400 on top of what I booked for the room, even though it is a temporary hold they said, I was still unsatisfied because I was unaware at the time of purchase. Wound up crippling my funds for my trip, had I known it would’ve been a different story and with our stay the only thing that was included was the room, room Wi-Fi was an extra charge and our toilet was faulty. The ice machine on our floor was out service as well. Seems that without membership status the stay was very basic. I would not use this hotel again based off of my stay.
- 5/5
All breakfast was eaten offsite.
- 5/5
Great place
- 5/5
Nice hotel
- 2/5
Front desk Staff needs better customer service training.
- 4/5
Elevator was completely out on New Year’s Eve, we were on 11th floor.
- 5/5
Great stay , room was clean and spacious and cozy loved it definitely coming back . Also the staff was friendly and had excellent customer service
- 5/5
Great place, good staff
- 4/5
The staff super friendly and helpful. Room and hotel very nice in general. It was okay clean except for quarter-sized bright blue stain on top bed pillow (likely stain), REALLY needs good vacuuming behind bedside tables and in corners of room with built up dust and debris....some small hairs in shower and around bathroom sink but I just wiped them up. Of course I do not expect perfect so I will let hairs go but the dust and debris needs vacuum badly.

We enjoyed this hotel! Walking to bridge to inner harbor closed, but not a big deal.
- 3/5
The room was clean although we only found out the next morning that there was a curse word written on the mirror in the bathroom when we took showers. The front office staff and the Bell man that helped us when we got to the hotel were all amazing. Although we didn't find out till I started asking about the amenities that the Club house room we booked came with. We found out that the Club lounge was closed. So we paid the extra money for nothing. The front office staff did give us a complimentary breakfast for the inconvenience, but If I would have known that the Club Lounge wouldn't have been available I would have booked the cheaper room and saved money.
- 5/5
The room was clean and we enjoyed the partial view of the inner harbor. The staff was friendly and provided excellent service
- 2/5
Lots of hidden fees, the breakfast was expensive. Nothing was free. I will never stay at that place again.
- 5/5
Friendly staff
- 1/5
rude people long time for room service
- 1/5
Do not know if breakfast bar was freshly served, I checked out at 5:00 am.
- 5/5
Clean room, clean bathroom, and staff.
- 5/5
Awesome team
- 5/5
Yes
- 4/5
Is a good place to stay
- 3/5
Service was very good, however, the rooms were tired and the mattress was not very comfortable, felt worn. View, service and location offset the shortcomings of the room.
- 5/5
This was my 2nd time staying here. Staff were friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. I’d stay again.
- 2/5
The breakfast was really disappointing. There were no eggs or oatmeal available, the waffles were cold and hard, and the wait for coffee and water was too long
- 4/5
Check in was smooth. Perfect location to explore the Harbor.
- 4/5
Pool was closed, but otherwise great experience
- 3/5
Which there was information prior to booking that the indoor pool was not open due to a roof issue . We couldn’t get out of the booking and that was a key feature we were looking for ,
- 4/5
Not a good stay. Management resolved the problems
- 4/5
The breakfast was wonderful, but our waiter had a odor , not pleasant he he walked by me eating lol ugh. The Parking is not part of the hotel, it's a city lot , it's undercover, but right across the street is another city lot not covered but way less $$$ . I would park there instead. beautiful views and direct access to the waterfront !!!
- 5/5
My wife & I had a nice quick getaway to Baltimore. Staff at Hotel, especially Derrick & Keisha, were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend and also return
- 5/5
This hotel and customer service here, is just beyond our expectations! We cannot say enough good things about the two people who helped us check-in, to the wonderful bar service to end our night. This hotel has excellent customer service. The rooms were nice, fresh, and clean!!! We only stayed one night, and we wanted to book another honestly!! Definitely will be back!
- 4/5
Didn't eat in
- 5/5
.
- 5/5
Great stay as always
- 5/5
Loved the rooms!
- 5/5
Came in for 2 days Thanksgiving day for the Ravens game. The hotel had a DJ playing some tunes, and the bartender was mixing some quality drinks. All this added to the quality of our stay.
- 5/5
We will absolutely stay again.
- 5/5
Clean room, very accommodating staff, complementary 2 hr charging for EVs (with paid overnight parking), fantastic location - walkable to most places.
- 3/5
Overpriced for what you receive
- 3/5
Would have been higher but the check-in experience was horrible👎

- 5/5
Great location and room was well appointed.
- 5/5
Very peaceful
- 5/5
Everything was nice
- 5/5
The place is solid but the staff went above and beyond for me at every turn from check-in to check out
- 4/5
The room was spacious and clean. Location was perfect.
- 5/5
Staff was wonderful, room was clean and roomy. Great dining options and parking was easy.
- 5/5
Only Place I Stay at when in Baltimore. Super Clean, Great Location at the Inner Harbor. Everything is Walking Distance. Pool is Open until 10pm. Underground 24 hour parking. All at a Solid Price Point.
- 5/5
Very clean. Great staff. Terrific location.
- 5/5
The staff accommodated my stay by providing an early check-in at the last minute
- 5/5
Excellent experience
- 4/5
Excellent.
- 5/5
Friendly staff
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel. Great amenities!
- 1/5
One person at a five person reception, room didn't even have a cup! Coffee supplies not refilled. Dirty soap dispensers in the shower containers. . Hotel is filthy and unkempt.
- 2/5
Bed was hard. Room was clean but overpriced. Restaurant was basic. Had to check in 3 times (online, phone, and in person). Security was rude (other staff was polite). We will not return.
- 1/5
It took over an hour to check in
- 2/5
Check-in took over a hour. Toilet kept getting stopp
- 4/5
amenities
- 2/5
It took over 45 minutes to check in the long was out the door only 3 people working gave us the wrong room and then couldn’t get the room we paid for. We were locked out the key system wouldn’t work. Only 4 working elevators for over 660 rooms. Very upset and feel we should be compensated from this hotel
- 3/5
Check in terrible. Website offered advance check in. It did not work. When desk was approached, early check in not available. Didn't want the room early, simply check in and get key when room was ready. When check in was allowed, stood in line 40 minutes. The following morning, there was a 10 minute wait for the elevator.
- 4/5
Checkin was effirtless, staff polite and helpful, room was excellent
- 5/5
Breakfast buffet was good: serving people’s kindness and omelet was good.
- 1/5
Waited in line 3 times to get to check-in desk. 25-45 minutes each wait in line.
- 3/5
The check-in process was terrible . Do NOT plan on a quick check in - especially on night with a concert in town . We waited in line over an hour to check in. Even folks using mobile check in were in line because they couldn't get their room key electronically. When we finally reached the front desk we were told this was not uncommon- as their checking system was 'slow'. Given the fact employees were giving out free beer , wine , punch and cookies to those in line , I can only imagine this slow checkin process prompted this service to keep folks placated. Don't get me wrong . the room was nice and location great . Just be prepared to have someone wait in line for your party while others go have a cup of coffee and walk around the harbor .
- 4/5
Staff were wonderful. Great location. Room was good but needs some maintenence
- 3/5
Long hallways to and from the 1 elevator on each floor. Room was nice but little view of the Harbor. Staff was nice. Hotels are making a killing on guest parking and you have no other choice, it was not included, but nice that it’s onsite. I didn’t know I had to pay until I registered. Hallways are clean. Breakfast was good with great service.
- 3/5
There were about 50 people in line for check-in took over a half hour 40 minutes to check into the hotel
- 3/5
The place was empty and nothing going onat same time. The also did not give me reciepts for stay or gor charges I need those
- 2/5
Additionally, half of the elevators were not working for at least 3 days.
- 2/5
The manager said that she refunded my breakfast which was supposed to be included on October 5. I still have not received the refund and it is October 29. This whole ordeal took over an hour to try to resolve. Additionally, it took over 45 minutes to just check in. The front desk clerk had difficulty processing my reservation and the free breakfast got missed during check-in.
- 5/5
Great staff and vibes
- 3/5
The toilet bowl didn’t flush properly, the sink in the bathroom didn’t drain properly and after using the blow dryer for a total of three minutes, it began to smoke and smelled like something was burning. Obviously it was turned off immediately.
- 3/5
Pros: good location by the harbor, clean and comfortable. Cons; our room was badged as harbor view but only if you crane your neck! Bar and restaurant didnt match up to the photos on the website but the food was nice.
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
Love the hotel!!! Perfect location close to everything!! Room view was the harbor which lights up at night!! This is my 5th stay and the only place I will stay when visiting Baltimore ❤️❤️
- 4/5
Check in was absolutely horrible. We got there at 4:30 , check in took a little over 30 minutes , waste of time , then parked across the street& no discount for staying at the hotel.
- 1/5
I waited over an hour to check in and couldn’t get late check out
- 5/5
Everyone was really friendly. Nice room, convenient location, great exercise room
- 3/5
Could not fit a wheelchair in bathroom enough to shut door. Specifically asked for accessible room
- 5/5
.
- 3/5
Work space was a little dated, both ice machines on our floor didn't operate. Overall room was very comfortable.
- 5/5
They ladies at reception and the amazing women at the cafe. Treated me like gold!! Kind and personable. And the coffee was some of the best I ever had. When I come to the harbor will always stay here. Go where they treat you great!!
- 5/5
Great hotel
- 5/5
Accommodations were excellent. Hotel was clean. Staff very nice and helpful
- 4/5
During the weekend there were tons of events, but the staff made sure they kept their composure and everything inside the hotel went smoothly
- 5/5
Awesome location. Nice room. No way that is a king size bed it was barley a queen, but beautiful view of the harbor. Easy in and out for Uber drivers. Would stay again
- 3/5
I was surprised they charged for everything such as wifi and coffee. We asked for a luggage cart and was told it was a valet service. It was a busy weekend and they did not bring on adequate staff. We had an unacceptably long line to check in and an unacceptably long line for overpriced coffee in the morning. Parking was more expensive than other hotels.
- 5/5
Clean room, welcoming atmosphere
- 3/5
Very unimpressed that a hotel in 2025 would not have free WiFi… accidentally purchased WiFi when I thought I was just signing in to free WiFi and the front desk staff was very short and annoyed when I asked to be refunded my $13. $36 a day for parking was ridiculous- should be included or way cheaper. Was not told about a breakfast and when I went down to ask about complimentary coffee, was told there wasn’t any and so I had to buy a coffee at the cafe that was basically $9 hot water. 4 out of 5 ice machines on the various floors were out of order. Room was clean. Overall, not impressed with my overly expensive stay….
- 5/5
Lovely hotel with very nice hotel staff!
- 5/5
Great room and location
- 5/5
Enjoyed the ability to walk to the aquarium and the harbor. Had a variety of food spots within walking distance.
- 5/5
Yes
- 1/5
Staff was completely incapable. Check in was at 4:00 and I didn’t get into my room until 5:00 pm. The wifi is terrible. The room was dirty. Will never stay here again. Especially as a Bonvoy member.
- 2/5
Then two of the four elevators were broken so we waited forever for elevators each morning. The one morning we had been waiting over 10 min for the elevator and an employee came around the corner with a luggage cart, cut in front of the 8 people waiting for the elevator and pushed inside so we had to continue waiting while we rode down on the elevator with his cart. The reading light was broken in my bed so I called for repair at 5:30 pm one evening as we were leaving to go out for dinner. When we returned it wasn’t fixed so we went to bed. At 10:10pm an employee knocked on the door to fix the light and woke us up. There was mold and bugs in the room. We definitely will not stay here again.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
We loved our view.
- 5/5
We love this property.
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 4/5
The only issue I had was the parking garage when it was time for us to leave, It seemed really confusing wandering around with different exits being closed so it made it very hard to get to an event on time due to that. But otherwise the stay was great and there was nothing negative to report. Staff was friendly, check in and out process was seamless and rooms were clean!
- 5/5
Marriott did not disappoint!!
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
The worst part was most of the elevators were broken which is why I rated condition as poor. How to almost all elevators break at once? It was a very full hotel. Long lines everywhere. The saving grace was the staff who worked extra hard to help overcome all the inconvenience. Without the staff this would have been a terrible experience.
- 5/5
It was a great stay
- 5/5
I stay here whenever I come to Baltimore
- 1/5
Nonstop barking dog next door they wouldn’t do anything about, hair dryer didn’t work, rude staff. Far cry from what this place used to be
- 5/5
Beds were so comfortable and I love all the fluffy pillows. Room was very clean
- 5/5
Room was nice. TV wasn't getting a signal and needed to be reconnected, but other than that, the stay was good.
- 5/5
Such a convenient property!
- 4/5
Best hotels I ever stay in Baltimore
- 2/5
Room was dirty, red stains on carpet. View from room was the inside of a dead hotel with flickering lights and unpowered escalators. Had do-not-disturb on door but housekeeper knocked at 9:30am. Parking requires an app in a garage that doesn't have cell service.
- 4/5
Restaurant and coffee shop had no decaf. Inner Harbor was surprisingly dead
- 5/5
We were comfortable!
- 5/5
Convenient
- 3/5
Reserved 2 queens but got 2 fulls. Was told over the phone parking was included but it was not. Also neighbors were very loud but that’s not the fault of the hotel. Overall definitely not the worst but not the best.
- 4/5
I always love this hotel. I stay here any time I come to Baltimore. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, and I especially love the happy hour during Ravens game day. The rooms are always comfortable and clean. The most recent stay though I found it strange that there were no electrical outlets in the bathroom. I could tell it was newly renovated. Did they not have an electrical inspection? Also out of 4 elevators, only one was working during our entire one night stay. When the hotel is full for a football game, this is not ideal.
- 2/5
Room smelled musty. Sink took forever to drain and backed up. They missed my 4 am wakeup call.
- 3/5
Only one elevator was working for floors 6 and above. Also, we were on the 10th floor and we could hear the traffic and the horn honking at 6 am
- 5/5
Really good
- 5/5
Clean room
- 2/5
The room was not cleaned properly prior to our arrival. The white blanket had dark stains and smears on it. The staff was nice, but the surrounding area is not very safe. A lot of homeless people in area panhandling and aggressive.
- 3/5
Was actually quite disappointed even though it's a nice hotel. Several potential up charges - $37 for parking, $12 for wifi. Parking was a way too complicated process that could have been easily taken care of at check-in.
- 2/5
Only one working elevator. 20-30 minute wait. Staff tried to accommodate for this but it was just way to busy.
- 3/5
Booked the day before a major cycling event. No notice from management/staff about road closure. Confusing info about parking, where to pay etc. Thank good no parking ticket- probably due to road closure.
- 4/5
Great location; very nice room; no clerk at the front desk upon arrival at 4:30 pm. 5 of us waiting to check in; finally a gentleman called the main number and they sent someone out. Only had 1 of 4 elevators running so had to wait a while to get one with room for more people. Food in restaurant was good
- 5/5
Everything was great and the hotel is convenient to dining, entertainment, and transportation.
- 2/5
I’ve stayed at this hotel 3–4 times a year, always booking the same river view room to relax and reset. This time, I paid in advance for that exact room — only to be given a view of traffic. When I raised the issue, the manager falsely claimed I hadn’t paid for the river view. I pulled up my receipt, and suddenly the story changed: “The room isn’t available due to a wedding.” As if the wedding guests’ dollars were more valuable than mine. Let me be clear — I paid for the room I booked. Period. Fabricating reasons and shifting blame is unacceptable. I will not recommend a hotel that treats loyal guests like they’re disposable. Views matter to me when I travel — they support my mental peace. Looking at traffic does not. I’ve already booked a nearby hotel for New Year’s Eve, and I won’t be returning. If you value honesty, consistency, and the room you actually paid for, look elsewhere.
- 1/5
Waited for an hour at check in and told they had no rooms available. Saw multiple groups arrive after we did (at least 30 people) getting room keys. Had to wait 30 minutes in line again at the desk to ask if a room was available after 4pm which was the check in time. Finally got a room key then waited 35 minutes for an elevator to thenGET STUCK on the elevator have no working elevator and carry bags up 9 flights of stairs. Only one working elevator all weekend with lines for 30 plus minutes every time we left our room. Sink in our bathroom was clogged on arrival fixed that day and then overflowed the following morning without us using any water. Hotel staff were nice but would NEVER stay here again. Marriott should be ashamed.
- 2/5
The line to check in was through the lobby. Apparently, even if you arrive early, they do not let you have a room until 4 or even after that time. We were told while waiting in line that there might not be rooms ready for us (this was at 5 p.m.). We had already driven for 3 hours and had tickets to a baseball game at 7 (we originally arrived at the hotel at approximately 2 p.m. that afternoon and was told we would get a phone call when our room was ready. This never happened, and we went back to hotel around 5 when the line was through the lobby.) Also, only 1 of the several elevators to the rooms was working while we were there. Needless to say, it was always a long wait for one. Also, one of the lamps in our room constantly flickered very fast, so to not drive anyone crazy, we had to keep that light off.
- 4/5
I really enjoyed my stay at the Renaissance Hotel especially the location being downtown Baltimore it made everything more accessible. Although the elevators were down the staff compensated me for the slight inconvenience, which was much appreciated. I look forward to staying here again.😊
- 1/5
3 elevators broken out of 4 total for guest rooms, you either waited 20 mins or you took steps up and down to rooms.
- 3/5
Place was good but there was only one elevator working. 👎👎 Also a fridge in the room wlda been nice..
- 3/5
Only had one elevator working and had to wait in line for to get to our room
- 3/5
Unfortunately the hotel was extremely busy and crowded. The check in line was long and extended across the lobby. Unfortunately, only one elevator out of 4 was working so there was another extensive line for the elevator. We ended up taking the steps (8th floor) after 25 min wait for elevator. The room was nice, however, our toilet would not flush. It seemed to be one thing after another.
- 3/5
Not so friendly staff
- 1/5
Elevators were not working the entire time there was only one elevator in use, which was a service elevator, which caused most people to have to use the stairwells to get to their rooms. They also exited you out the back of the building onto the street from the stairwells.
- 4/5
Everything was great except check in took an extreme amount of time and most of the elevators were not working. The staff was great in that they provided refreshments and snacks while waiting in line to check in.
- 3/5
Unfortunately only two elevators worked. Blood stains on sheets. Staff was helpful and pleasant
- 3/5
We were in town for the weekend, as were thousands of others. There was an O's series vs NY, a concert at the arena, a festival, and people already in town for the Ravens game on Monday. When we arrived just after 4pm, there was a line of literally 100 people waiting to check in. When I finally got up to the desk, I was told the type of room I reserved wasn't ready yet. I was asked if I would take another type, which I reluctantly did, mainly due to standing in line for an hour. The hotel had to know they were going to be booked, so to only have 1 elevator working (out of 4) made for a lot of unhappy guests. Most of our time spent in the hotel was waiting for a chance to get on this 1 elevator when it wasn't jammed with others. We went to our event and returned Sat. night. We knew the elevator situation, so decided to climb the stairs to our 8th floor room. Once we got to that floor, we scanned our room key to enter the hotel but it didn't open the door. You could hear the lock mechanism working, but I believe the door handle was broken. One of us went down to try the 7th floor door, we were able to get in there. Then it was a walk to another stairway to get back up to our floor. The room itself was clean and nice. I will likely not stay here again, however, just based on how seemingly unprepared the hotel was to handle a hotel full of guests.
- 4/5
Unfortunately- long check-in line- fully booked (although free drinks provided while waiting in line) and only 1of 4 elevators working that went to guest floors. However. Rooms were spacious and clean and hotel is convenient to many dining options and walkable to many things.
- 3/5
Check in was a mess, only one elevator was working, and the facility appeared a bit worn. Despite its location, these issues would have me looking are for better stay options next time.
- 2/5
Elevators not working, room windows were filthy, shower curtain stained, ice machine not working
- 5/5
Room was very comfortable
- 1/5
Check in took to long and elevator was broken
- 1/5
The check in process was horrible, we had to wait in a line of over 100 people for reasons that were never explained. Then, only one elevator worked in the entire bank of elevators and so the line was massive for that. There was no internal stair case to use, which we would have done even though our room was in the 8th floor because the delays and frustration everyone felt was palatable. The stair case was only accessible outside the building. Eventually, hotel staff started escorting guests through empty floors to service elevators. Very poor experience. The one bright spot though was exceptional staff who remained friendly, helpful, and poised firing what had to be an incredibly stressful day.

Couldn’t check in via app at check in time resulting in long lines. Elevators broken
- 1/5
The first lady you could clearly see was over the day, the elevators were broken, the hotel was sold out and it was $35 to park. I get to my room which was literally on the opposite side of the elevator and the water didnt work. I had to go back downstairs at this point theres roughly 25 people in front of me. I advise guest service of the issues, this rep was actuallt pleasant and informative, she easily swicthed my room but now the elevators are packed out and we are using the service elevators- not upset thats a good pivot to getting guest where they need to be but this new room was equally as far from the elevators. I was drained from the lines and walk, it made it to where it you almost dont want to get out to explore.

Elevator issues made it difficult to get to our room on the 10th floor. We had to take the stairs up and down 3 times! But overall it was a great stay at a great place.

I checked in and there were people already checked into same room.

The room was sizable and clean. Mattress was comfortable with nice linens. It’s a vast hotel, and some of the furniture needs updating, but the location is excellent and the price is just right.

Clean room. Friendly staff.

I have no complaints about this hotel. It was in a great location, literally right around the corner from everything. Parking in the garage was easy, they had early check-in available, the room was spacious and clean, and the staff was nice.

Convenient location near the Inner Harbor. Clean comfortable room. Friendly staff.

Conveniently situated across from the waterfront and walk to the ballpark
- 5/5
Great location to Inner Harbor Aquarium and waterfront restaurants.

There was some type of splatter on the wall next to the toilet in the bathroom. Other than that minor inconvenience it was an excellent stay. The art in the room was beautiful.

The room was clean and comfy. AC could be improved. It was relatively warm and noisy. Otherwise, great hotel and would stay again. We stayed for a concert at CFG and it was a short walk to the arena. The hotel is right at inner harbor with plenty of activities.

location

The hotel was definitely beautiful and for the most part kept up, the pool definitely did not look anything like the pictures online and majority of the area was under construction with no hot tub to be used all kinds of flying insects. Paying for WiFi seemed a bit much to us. And not even being able to have kcup refills in our room. Again nothing super major. For the most part we enjoyed our stay.
- 4/5
The hotel itself and the room were very clean, the bed was very comfortable, and I appreciated that they placed us in a room very close to the pool since we had little ones! The staff were all friendly but Melvin took the cake!! We’d be back simply for him!
- 3/5
Very tired hotel. TV picture worn out, toilet refills every few minutes, fitted sheets dont fit so sheet constantly pulling off. Seems lije they are not doing long term repairs.
- 4/5
Also, there wasn’t much staff available and we had questions about things. We had to wait for elevator access a lot, there weren’t sufficient elevators running at some points.
- 4/5
The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable updated. It was a busy weekend in Baltimore, and in the hotel, and it appeared that only two of the elevators were working so there were always long wait times. Other than that, very pleased with our stay.

On the positive note, the gentleman who eventually helped me check in was so courteous and helpful, explaining that the housekeeping staff had not yet released rooms, so they had to fix that before I could be checked in. I also felt the room was very spacious.

Was a nice hotel, area is convenient for some things but it was noisy outside and the area around it was not the nicest smelling.

Peanut butter on the comforter, Parking is expensive on property (double or triple DC prices). Location is great, the furniture was worn out. The food was great at the watertable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I would stay there again.

Nice hotel to walk the inner harbor. Staff was super nice! I felt safe in the area. Bed was so very comfortable. Great view! Clean and Fancy. The Phillips Restaurant was our go to for dinner and drinks. Met many nice people there. Hotel compted us free breakfast when we were disappointed because there wasnt a $15 continental breakfast I thought I saw was available. Going to stay again. Its a wonderful place to visit!

I loved everything about this hotel, from the check in to the amenities and even the check out. Monet and Tony at the restaurant where the best. Tony's hospitality is unbeatable and Monet can serve a mean omelet. It was so delicious!!!. Parking is located right under the hotel and allows in and outs. No need for a pass or window ticket. It just scans your licenses plate. Will be back!!!!

Normally have early check in. This time not. Person said 2pm due to “general population”. So I came back at 2 and told 4pm. Another desk person said due to being totally sold out night prior and they are freeing up rooms depending on the room chosen. I overheard people saying unless you booked direct you were on the wait list. Not sure if true however there was a woman who paid for early check in and denied. She did not book directly.

The front desk staff at this hotel were great however the housekeeping leaves a lot to be desired. The shower walls in the room I was in were filthy they obviously haven’t been cleaned in a while they were covered in the pink film. On one of the days my room was left open by housekeeping,we realized it upon returning to the room at midnight after being out in DC all day. Thankfully nothing was taken.Furniture is very worn in the room as well!! Would not recommend this location

The hotel was magnificent

I booked months in advance. Paid for a Harbor View. Had to put my face to the window and look hard right to for my obstructed view. Killed the vibe of my whole trip. Both the hotel and Expidia blamed each other. Maybe you could do better booking straight from the hotel.

Will come back

Amazing service, letting me know paying for parking through parking app is cheaper than going through hotel directly. Plus fresh free cookies and lemon water were a nice pick me up. The pool is smaller than what it looked to me online, but the hotel gym was really nice. Probably, the nicest hotel gym i have seen in years. The only reason i took points off is because some of the lights in the room were broken and the bathroom door would not shut.
