The room was clean and comfortable. The room has a lounge chair. We asked housekeeping for another blanket to use while reading on the chair and housekeeping delivered it quickly. There was a washer and dryer on our floor (1st), I don't know if each floor has one. There was free parking on the premises.

Parking was easy and convenient, rooms were neat and new, and the entire staff could not have been nicer. And a very decent breakfast. Location is a little bit funky, but otherwise we highly recommend.

Rooms were very clean and quiet, staff were helpful, friendly and easy to engage, breakfast was very reasonable and helpful, and parking was excellent regarding availability and ease of access. Have stayed here previously and enjoy the consistently very good services and quality.

I had wished the hotel had waffles instead of pancakes. The pancakes weren’t fluffy, they were thin and chewy. There were 2 homeless people on the street a 1/2 a block away. The hotel was too far from downtown Berkeley where all the restaurants are.

Overall, a good hotel with no major complaints. The only issue was the lighting in the room - it still felt quite dark even with all the lights on, and it was a bit inconvenient having to switch on several separate lamps. A central ceiling light would make the room much more comfortable.

We liked that the Staff was very Kind and let us get there to relax a little earlier than check-in time, before the concert. We liked that there was a Foster Freeze right near the property. I found a little nat on my pillowcase and that kinda freaked me out! Otherwise, we slept well and liked our room.

Good location for us. FREE PARKING!!! Breakfast was good, not great, but no charge and the lady running it worked hard. Some great restaurants within walking distance. I think this will be our go to stop for our annual visits.

Clean room. Quiet. Very good breakfast selections and coffee available 24 hours. Good location for getting on freeway to Bay Bridge to San Francisco. Lots of eating options nearby. Lovely place to walk just a couple miles west at Marina park, with walking paths and views across the bay to San Francisco. Staff are always friendly and helpful. We have stayed here often and will be back on next visit to area. BART is within walking distance.

Loved the cleanliness and free breakfast everyday. It’s in a great location, Berkeley is nice and just a short drive into the city. The staff are very nice and accommodating. Rooms were a bit small and the tubs could use a refresh but a great value for the price.

This hotel is excellent. The staff is friendly. Details of comfort are abundant here: healthy breakfast items (not all processed starches), clean gym, daily room service, clean towels, renovated rooms. I hope the guests appreciate the efforts made here.

I have enjoyed staying at this Berkeley Holiday inn Express quite a few times. The staff is always professional and friendly, the premises are always immaculate and safe, and the breakfast is fresh and varied and delicious. I highly recommend it, and will definitely be back.

The Fairview Speech and Debate Team loves staying here for the Berkeley Tournament. The staff is fantastic- the front desk staff is welcoming and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and clean. We are thankful for their hospitality. See you all next year!

Staff: Yana who contacted me immediately informing me that there was a mishap on my third party reservation and tried to rectify it, but with luck a family left early, we were able to get our two Queen beds. Kirrell (spelling? Killard forgot his name), who checked us in was very kind, Alicia who takes care of the breakfast pretty much by herself never left an item unstocked. I saw her start from 6:30am since I was looking for plastic spoons (I am sure she was there much earlier) until the end of breakfast. Breakfast is free and had an array of breakfast item. Parking is free, WiFi is free, has a gym, and location is centrally located in Berkeley. Clean hotel with an amazing staff. Marceline also was very helpful during checkout and really nice. Overall great customer service from everyone we encountered and interfaced with. Highly recommend this hotel.

Clean, quiet room with everything we needed. Loved the coffee and tea bar in the lobby, and the included breakfast was very nice! The breakfast attendant kept the tables cleared and cleaned and made sure the breakfast items were replenished.

This is my 2nd time staying at this hotel and it was amazing! I loved the breakfast and the free hot drinks available 24/7. The bed was comfortable, and I loved how this room had a fridge and microwave. Also, the room’s temperature felt very cozy, especially during this cold and rainy weather. I will definitely stay here again the next time I travel to Berkeley.

This was a new fresh hotel with well decorated spacious rooms. My only complaint was the toilets are too low. It may be a hip hotel but parents and grandparents stay here for UC events.

One of the best stays we've had in the bay area to be honest. We needed to change rooms when we arrived due to adding another guest and we need ada. They actually offered for us to look at it beforehand to make sure it accomadated us, we've never encountered that before and it was so wonderful of them to offer. There is free coffee 24/7 in the lobby and it's so good. The staff as well as the cleaning staff are all so welcoming and make you feel right at home. The beds are comfortable, rooms are clean, hallways and elevator as well. Showers are a dream. Food available to purchase is affordable and a good little variety of options. Parking was easy peasy. We were too tired to go to breakfast so can't comment on that unfortunately. There are plenty of places around for food etc as well. We stayed to attend a concert at the Greek theatre and it was only a 9 minute drive away. Area felt very safe. We honestly loved it! Anytime we need to be in the area we plan to stay here.

Very clean. Quiet. Staff was friendly and responsive when we had a problem with television reception. Breakfast was excellent. Lots of choices of hot food and cold cereals and breads/bagels/english muffins. Ample free parking. Very convenient to Berkeley restaurants and shopping and to the freeways. Just a mile away is the Marina with walking trails next to the Bay in the park. Beautiful. Only 1/2 hour into SF across the Bay Bridge.

Great value, clean, well kept property. Staff were courteous and helpful. Free parking is an added bonus. Great location however sidewalks I'm this neighborhood might be tricky for some older adults to navigate, especially off a main strip. Great cafes across the street, and near freeways and public transport.

It was conveniently located in area with access to I-80 to get around. Ice cream place a block away and plenty of places to eat nearby. Hotel itself was very nice with everything looking like new. Room was very nice with comfortable set up. We were allowed to change from a king to a double queen room with no hassle. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

The room seemed clean and the staff was friendly. The coffee in the morning was not great, rather thin and watery.

The only negative is that the property is right next to a busy road and hence noisy at times.

This gave us the impression the lot was gated or in some other way secured from public access. When we arrived we found the lot was not gated and open to the street. It's not the hotel's fault the expedia summary is wrong and doesn't provide description. We should have checked the hotel website. Also we appreciate the staff advising us so we didn't risk our items.

I liked the free breakfast. The pancakes are silly but the rest of the food and options was great. I would have preferred some kind of room service because after a long day walking around campus with my kid I didn't really want to go out again. But it was fine, there are nearby places to eat.

This is a good location if you are visiting Berkeley. The hotel is convenient to the university and back to the freeway. It is reasonably priced based on other hotels in the area and you do not pay for parking if you are a registered guest.

The staff here was incredibly helpful and friendly. The rooms were quiet and comfortable and lots of options for breakfast.

We got a suite with jetted tub. The tub was wonderful but there was no soap down for the tub, only up for people standing to take a shower. Also, breakfast is included but doesn't start until 7 AM when most people are already on the road to catch their flight. My husband was treated rudely when he asked if he could at least have a muffin which was already out on the counter. The suite was a very comfortable size.

I enjoyed how clean the property was. the daytime staff was friendly. I did not like that there was a large gap between the floor and the bottom of the door. Their night staff was not as friendly as their day staff.

Room was spacious and updated with new carpet and furniture. The room felt very clean. Terrific shower with strong water pressure and Dove soaps. Bus number 51B took us from the hotel to Berkeley city center and campus, we did not need to move our car at all. IHP standard breakfast are mediocre.

I slept like a rock.

I got an upgrade without even asking and a very nice suite. I will say there is a lot of eco-friendly amenities like big dispensers instead of tiny little bottles. However there was no recycling bin in the room! And there wasn't one downstairs either. Thankfully the lady behind the desk said that she would recycle it and I hope she will. But what I really hope is that this hotel and the whole chain gets with prevention Reuse Recycling and composting. Nothing was recycled from The Breakfast room even though plenty of it was recyclable and some was compostable.

In the evening, when we came back to the hotel, the room was not made: we mentioned it to the reception this (Sunday) morning they said we needed to remove the sign “don’t disturb” by 8am in the (Saturday) morning, but it was not indicated anywhere, and the reception was very rude this morning, and clearly did not care. Very bad and we will certainly not come back, and will tell our friends.

They are in the process of upgrading aome of the rooms and there was construction noise all around us for about an hour which delayed some business that we were doing. We asked for a slightly later check out andnthey were gracious with our request.
